Bought Yugioh Rush Duels Dawn of The Battle Royale on sale for $10 & it's my current hyperfixation now. I even started watching the anime tie-in, Yugioh Sevens.
As someone who has been a fan of Yugioh! since its heyday, Rush Duels feels refreshing AF. I don't hate the new card summons that have come up since the 5D's era, but I don't completely love them either. They made the card game too complicated as time went on, and that affected Yugioh! video games like Legacy of The Duelist.
I enjoy Legacy of The Duelist a lot; it helped me get back into playing the card game digitally last year after not playing for several years. However, there are times when Legacy of The Duelist left me drained b/c some of the Story Mode duels would take over 20 turns to complete.
Dawn of The Battle Royale isn't as good of a game as Legacy of The Duelist, but I'm still enjoying it mainly b/c Rush Duels take less than 20 turns to do. Also, Rush Duels remind me of when I first got into Yugioh through the very first series. Back then, I was in elementary school & my friends and I would pretend to duel with imaginary cards and imitate the duels from the anime. We didn't exactly know the rules so we made it our own and had a ton of fun.
Dawn of The Battle Royale is super grindy because the card packs cost a lot of in-game currency. You also can't build your own deck until you either beat the game or insert a certain Konami Code after a certain point in the game. Until then, you have to rely on Deck Receipes you get from NPCs & you can't use a Deck Receipe until you obtain all the cards needed. In order to obtain all the cards, you have to duel an NPC repeatedly and buy card packs from the card shop. Sometimes, super rare cards require a Konami Code to be put in.
Despite Dawn of The Battle Royale's flaws, I am still enjoying this game. It has given me the same rush of joy and fun that I get in Legacy of The Duelist with a single player card game, but with the added bonus of a back to basics approach.

Zexal Month - The Fool
Tumblr media
Simple introduction to start the month off. I feel like everybody knows me but I am VoicesOfChaos. I livestreamed Zexal as it aired towards the end of its run. Then livestreamed all of Arc-V. I write a lot of fanfictions. I watch Go Rush every week. I love (at least loved) the card game since the beginning. But now a days I obsessively play Duel Links and don’t really touch the TCG anymore. I have ran Yugioh panels at conventions for the past decade across the USA Midwest. Also started running the Yugioh cosplay photoshoot at Anime Central. Finally I’ll end this post with my Zexal cosplay. But I have also cosplayed Dark Signer Jack Atlas and the main protagonist Yugioh Rush Dawn Of The Battle Royale.

The only thing I don't like about Dawn of the Battle Royale is that Haruka doesn't make an appearance in either version, despite her cards being remarkably common among NPCs. Which means there is very little chance of Haruka/Asana interactions.
... Unless she's added in the update, but still.

"Joey, is that you?"
Sebastian’s dub name is now Seatbastian. I both love and hate this. -🛋
i think whoever came up with it is hilarious and should get a raise.
also in-universe it's even funnier cause it means that neil probably likes puns.

another thing that is “the nature of yugioh”, drawing a card as dramatically as possible. i love it :D
oh and i forgot to mention, they went into Valvelgear to duel again. i wonder why?
even though this duel also happened in the anime, it’s going differently. Yuudias went second in the anime, but went first in the manga.

summoning three monsters at once! that’s what Rush Duel allows!
I really want to try Rush Duel for myself, but there’s no way for me to do that. sure, there’s the “Rush Duel: Dawn of the Battle Royale” game, but it only exists on Nintendo Switch, and i don’t have one of those. even if i did, my parents are annoyed enough with me playing Duel Links all the time, there’s no way they’d let me get another game.
but this isn’t about me, it’s about Yuudias! so, my apologies for the detour and let’s get back to the manga!
Her name was “Mitsuko Hiramori” in the anime, so i’m gonna assume it’s the same in the manga just for convenience.
anyways, Mitsuko summons 3 monsters as well, and Yuuhi’s all like “well they don’t have more attack points than Yuudias’s monsters!” but then she uses a spell card to boost one of them by 300 ATK
Tumblr media
and yudias is like what the heck is a spell card so yuamu has to explain it

I have my doubts about this b/c the Yugioh Rush Duel video game is missing updates we didn't get here in the U.S., but I wish the Fusion monsters in the Yugioh Sevens anime were available in this game. Most of them look really cool.

Based on this, me thinks Yuhi didn't inherit the Doofenshmirtz-esque quirks, specifically inventions ending with "-inator" and adding self-destruct buttons. lol

Yuhi’s an Ohdo, Nyandestar! Not a Doofensmirtz!

Will you come back and more active in the YGO fandom now that Go Rush is gonna premire next month?
I was not aware that anybody wanted me to be active, I am honored. I ran a Yugioh panel at Youmacon and will hopefully be running one at Anime Central (ACen) along with the first time ever running the Yugioh photoshoot. So I am doing what I can in my local Midwest community. I even did a Yugioh Sevens cosplay recently! I guess I posted pics everywhere except Tumblr since Tumblr feels a little dead to me lately (might just be me though). I have also donated to Yugioh Everything’s livestreams a few times. So I am not exactly what you want me to do differently when Go Rush comes out. I honestly don’t know if it is only 1 or 2 people in the fandom that don’t like me or 100 to 200 people. It is hard to tell but I didn’t really seem missed or anything. I am happy to make more content though if people tell me what they are interested in. I have considered streaming Duel Links/Master Duel/Dawn Of The Battle Royale. Not sure if anybody would care though.

I'm really enjoying Yugioh! Rush Duels Dawn of The Battle Royale as a game, despite its glaring flaws.
I built a warrior-spellcaster deck after unlocking deck building early with a Konami Cheat Code and found a way to use another Konami code to get as much money and packs as I need by manually changing the date on my Switch Lite. The latter should save me from having to grind so much as I progress through the story mode and packs get more expensive.
This game makes me wish Rush Duels were available to play in the United States like the official Yugioh! trading card game. I don't mind all the new summons, but I don't totally love them either. I've played Legacy of The Duelist a lot solo and to me, sometimes the new summons make a duel go on too long. One of the longest duels I've played in Story Mode lasted 24 turns and winning that was more of a relief than fun.
For me, Rush Duels are a good back to basics approach that remind me of when I first started playing Yugioh during the anime's heyday twenty years ago. I don't have to worry about Rush Duels being longer than 20 turns and the new cards are cool.
It's a shame that the Rush Duels game and the anime series didn't get enough marketing; it would've been a great way to get folks of all ages into Yugioh!
I wish Konami would do something big for Rush Duels for Yugioh's 25th anniversary, besides adding it to Duel Links (which has a good concept, but takes up too much phone space and can't be played offline).

Games I am currently playing:
Chained Echoes- indie jrpg with retro and modern aesthetics (gorgrous pixel art)
Legend of Nayuta Boundless Trails- action JRPG with fun combat mechanics, lovely stage design inspired by the four seasons, and the cutest fairy partner (she can shoot magic as you fight)
Yugioh Rush Duel Dawn of The Battle Royale- a decent way to play Rush Duel in English by yourself. Grindy but fun so far.

Very grateful that they brought back Konami cheat codes for Yugioh Rush Duel Dawn of The Battle Royale. It makes the game a little less grindy since card packs cost like 1,000 Goha points each early in the game. The only way to get points outside of dueling NPCs is doing duel quizzes and completing missions (which usually involve dueling)
I'm also grateful there is a code for unlocking deck building early. I was a little frustrated that this wasn't unlocked from the start, but thankfully I got by with Yuga's True Seven Roads deck. Unlocking it took 2-3 days of grinding but it was worth it to progress the story and unlock deck buiding early.

They changed all the Bubble Era names and made a reference to 90s tech in the US, ignoring the fact Japan (and parts of Europe) already had 2G flip-phones...
