Sakura couldn't help but tilt his head just a bit, listening to the okaasan of the teahouse speak to him. "SO I don't… have to sleep with him?" He was confused. The way they had spirited the young oiran away he was quite sure that the power of choice, one that they had given him with his position, had been stripped from him. He was young and just walking into his position as a top courtesan, but his price and his stature, given from his christening and the amount that was bid for his innocence, gave him quite a bit of leeway. Either way, the kagema had never been so eagerly thrust before someone as he was today.

"You are more than just our flower, Sakura, but you are an entertainer, and if there as ever a time for us to use your charms to bring coin to the teahouse it is now. Entertain this lord, capture him in your charms, Sakura. You are not required to sleep with him if you do not wish, you have so much at your disposal just keep him company as long as you can…"

Ah…it must be quite an important daimyo for the okaasan to be so adamant. He simply nodded, turning to his mirror to set to work. Makeup. Hair, and his best kimono, soft and dazzling. Strange that it was not rushed, but it must've been arranged early on and the okaasan just wanted to make sure the teahouse put its best foot forward.

So while everything was set in the room for the guest he took a few deep breaths until he was called, a bell rung near his door to tell him that his guest was ready.

…horns. Ah… no wonder the okaasan was so adamant about such a thing. Daimyo came and went in the red light district without much fuss… But a demon lord….

Sakura smiled softly, nearly floating to position in front of the admittedly handsome oni and knelt, bowing in deference. "Oiyedasu… I am Sakura, your entertainment, and companion for the evening. Shall I pour you a drink, or perhaps play for you?"

The rocking of waves and the clap of thunder was an unwelcome sight to Motochika’s crew this night as they headed back to port. Tadasumi barking orders while the crew tried to keep the ship afloat -- but that wasn’t the only thing going on this night. Just off nearby, floating amidst the waves aboard what looked like a vine-woven plank of some kind was a woman with untamed raven black hair, barely wearing anything with the sea having claimed and torn most of her clothing, unconscious and barely staying afloat.

Nothing to her -- not even a name, as she remained unconscious. It would be one of the triplets, the youngest in specific, Masashige, who saw her amidst the storm, calling out to Tadasumi; “Man overboard!” and catching Tadasumi’s attention enough for the red-head to call out to someone to prepare everything for someone to fetch said ‘man’ from the sea. 

“Boss!” Takayori, the eldest of the brothers, and recently wed husband to Motochika’s cousin, Tsuruhime, went to get his attention. “Someone’s out there!” He called over the storm. “What’s your call?!”

-- Let’s Talk 2022 // Restrospect Talk

Let’s be honest; this year was mixed. It was a hella of a ride for some people or just eh. There was no in-between, but to be fair, at least it wasn’t 2021, which, by far, was the worst year since 2020. As for me, this year I felt like I discovered a bunch of myself that I didn’t realize and it was mostly thanks to the people that came and went from my life this year and those that stayed ( and some experiences that I would chalk up to as pure... what the hell or fate. There is again, no in between. )

I think some of my best experiences were being able to discover Genshin Impact and Final Fantasy 14 as well as leaving Red Dead Online behind except for the few small occasions and the introduction of a new generation of Pokemon on top of that ( although to be honest... the games are a lackluster 5 out of 10 with how badly they perform. The rest is open for opinion. ) Also getting the chance to reconnect with some people and tackle some new problems head-on... yeah, it’s been I don’t think i’ll soon forget.

But let’s get to the meat and potatoes; I want to talk about the people.

First off, I want to talk about my family. My IRL one. So it hasn’t been the best ride in the beginning... but towards the latter half? Things have been better. It’s been stable, and that’s all I can say on that. Although some people are a bit worse than others... 

Second off, let’s talk about some specific people, with coming in first, I gotta give to the guy who’s stuck with me through it all ( it feels like ) and is stubborn enough to pull me to my senses; @dimensionhoppinghybrids ... you’re basically the brother i’ve never had. We may live worlds apart but you are my brother. I’m happy that I got to meet you and that you took a chance on me ( and my characters ) even if i’m a bitchy mess tbh. Thank you for sticking with me and I really hope we get to have many more fun years talking together and one day I swear I will visit your homeland and bug you to take me out for archery and show me all the cool places! ( get it, cool, caus you live in somewhere below zero, ha... no? ok. )

Second, I want to throw out a shoutout to @missninetails and @night-gladion-and-their-ghosts​ . I got to reconnect with you guys and i’m happy I did. I’m proud of you sis in particular for achieving one of your many dreams and hope you get to achieve even more in the following year. Wolf, i’m glad we got to talk and write together and I hope that you get an even better year then the last.

Third, i’d like to throw out a shout to those that i’ve known for a little while who put up with my writing and things I send them even if we don’t talk that much ( which I need to change orz ); @aotoreiki​ @xxyumeno​ @thebloomingrosefamily​ @ammako​ @yugenronin​ @multiverseofmischief​ @kurisu-uzune​ @starikune . You guys are gems and I look forward to talking and or writing with you guys more in the future. Fourth; It’s time for those new great people that I met this year but are already absolute gems for putting up with me; @aevisong​ @pokemon-experiments​ @electric-ecclectic​ @moonlitsorceress​ . Y’all are awesome and I hope we can plot and write more together in the following year! I’m excited to get to know y’all more as well.

And a special shoutout to @moonlit-maiden​ for being that one person who has been pushing me in the right direction with tips and everything else on my weight loss journey. I hope you get to publish your book soon and when it is you bet your ass i’m buying me a copy!

This has been long and obnoxious I am sorry but I had a lot to say and I just... I just really love you guys okay? Anyway, have a good one and try not to overdo it on New Years ( but also drink one for me yeah? )

The captain was like this every winter, and so it would be no different with Nagahide, though he expected the man to be as reluctant, if not more so, than the vice commander when it came to his more childish antics.  Nagahide looked plenty warm, after all, and he didn’t seem to like this sort of discomfort, despite the offer of manju and tea...

But he got up!! He came out!! Souji gasped in delight, watching the other make little complaint, sticking his tongue out, much to the captain’s delight.  He tried to stifle a giggle but to no avail.  He couldn’t help it, bursting into a fit as the other patiently waited, and soon one landed, which Souji cheered and clapped.

You taste better...

“A-ah... Naga-rin...”  More than just the cold coloring his cheeks, he looked away a moment, not obeying the other’s request, but soon enough he turned with a giddy grin, rushing over.

“You’re terrible...”

The war had been... bloody to say the least.

Armies of all species uniting after things had gone south with negotiations regarding Nobunaga's surrender, ending in the entire decimation of his army and his family. Many had perished, vampire, werewolf, and oni alike. Some of the Lords had been hurt as well and as they sat in formal clothing in the aftermath of this and a celebration for the Lord and Lady of Kai's wedding, it felt like a nightmare that had gone to a dream, and yet the reality that times were still unsteady was heavy amidst the atmosphere.

The after party had been welcome to all of the remaining armies so long as it remained a time of peace. Many were covered in recovering wounds and wrapped in bandages, but it would be rude not to welcome a new Lady as it were. Chiharu looked and felt the most beautiful she had in her entire life, happy to have her now husband home and the hope they'd be able to have a peaceful life together even if it meant still fighting the undead and what not.

While many danced and drank or toasted to the new couple, some remained sitting and calm such as Ophelia who watched over Noe as he chased after Masazumi, Masanobu's son, seated beneath one of the trees with a tired smile on her face as usual.

Sakura was enjoying her warm sake, a bandage on her cheek and wrapped around her right arm from a nasty injury she received, but didn't seem to mind about.

Hajime had come down from the Shrine to find a single person, dressed as best as he could get to honor the wedding ceremony, slipping in and about the people -- happy she was alive but having not really seen much of her since she returned -- only letters were her call mark.

As it was, everyone was happy in this blissful dream for now, and Chiharu, happy for her friends as it were was starting to feel the atmosphere a bit overwhelming if just a bit -- and yet she couldn't say no to a afterparty and end it quite yet... so she waited for now, still dressed to the nine in her beautiful wedding kimono, joined every now and then by one of the Lords or Ladies, but mostly keeping to herself or Sakura... and yet Shingen was never far from her sight.

@yugenronin - Starter from Ayaka to uesugi

;;~ The morning dew glimmered on the swaying grass around Inazuma  At this Start of the morning, a certain Female was standing outside of the Komore teahouse, Ayaka was just allowing Toratarou, the small and lovable shiba inu, Out streach for a bit as the lady held the fan up to her face in a elegant like manner and began to hum her song softly.

 Inazuma’s morning was a bit quiet at this time. With Thoma asleep and the others resting, Ayaka found it to be the time to take a small walk with Komore’s mascot and relax.

However there was a bit of commotion over by middle of the walkway. A woman older than she, was crying for someone to help her, Ayaka could not find herself to leave this be and instead approached her with a kind demeanor asking her what was the matter. 

It was at this time that Kamaisato learned the woman was in a panicked frenzy because her daughter had left the village to pick berries but she was supposed to be back by now.

Though she had heard some merchants commenting about how dangerous the paths were as a group of Hillchirls ended up taking it over and attacked anyone who dared passed their territory. This of course caused the mother to go into a panicked frenzy. 

Ayaka , soothed her softly before placing her hand to her breast plate and smiled. “I shall go find her , with me by her side there shall be nothing to fear.” She smiled before deciding to tell no one where she was going. 

Technically the daughter of the Kamisato clan wasn’t exactly supposed to deal with such harsh Affairs, but she wasn’t the type of woman to just abandon someone in need either. Taking her blade in hand, Ayaka made her way over to the location the local merchants had appointed her too. 

She began to ducked down slight observing the bunch from afar, though that's when she noticed the young girl trapped in a wooded like cage.  Crying and trying to avoid upsetting the Mitchirll who sat behind her. Though the area was a bit.. strange to say the least.” 

 The occasional sounds of hilichurls that cackled echoed from the distance, but in the middle of them was something, not even the brave, misunderstood lady herself could believe what she was seeing.

There in a small distance from her, A Ring of fire glowing in a purple and menacing hue. The hilichurl's dance around it like it was their god or something. Though that was not the only strange thing.  

This camp wasn't like any of the others. No huts, no point made fences. not even a pot on a campfire or boxes with the goods inside of them.  instead, around it was a strange purple mist that engulfed the area like an ominous void.

Ayaka watched this strange behavior, before slowly and quietly approaching to open the cage the girl was locked it. 

The girl of course squealed with glee before Ayaka tried to hush her . “Your mother is waiting for you at the village, run home quickly.” 

She commented this out before she noticed the child’s expression change., only to find a surprise sneak up behind her. For when she slowly turned around there was a large Mitachurl towering over her. It's hand now lifted as the shield it held was held high, it now aimed for her in a swift motion. 

“GO!” She yelled out pushing the girl out of the way. as the child now picked up her feet and ran. 

The Clans heir of course had very little time to react before being thrown forward to the ground with its swing. Her figure had landed into the purple mist as she found it flood over her like a trap. As the vision user was being swallowed by a blackish void.

Confused Ayaka felt her vision blacking out on her as she began to groan in frustration, "I ...will ... not be defeated by this..." Before falling to the ground  her vision now completely blacking out. Now a bright light flashed in the area/ before the lady disappeared without a trace.

When she came too though, her head was hurting a bit as she noticed a ceiling above her, As well as that she herself was laying on something soft. lifting up her hand she now took a glance at it before asking out.

".. Where am I?"

Headcanons: accepting

Katsuie:

Shanice would definitely be the type to let Katsuie have a sleepover, only the sleepover just slowly turns into him living in her house. She'd have no problems letting him crash at her place every night and would even suggest that he moved in so they could hang out even more. Shanice and Katsuie upon having the portal open up could go out drinking together and he would get to try more modern drinks including fishbowls, since she's positive he'd adore those. I do think however, she would have to be sure to stay somewhat sober in case chaos involving timey-worldly issues occurs.

Katsuie is one of her favorite people, she's not shy in showing that- she will even tell him that, if she's sure it wouldn't make him cry ( it probably would though ) but because of this, she spoils him whenever she can and always has all the time in the world for him. Katsuie wants to do anything with her? She's agreeing without knowing what it is. She also bakes him things a lot, I think.

I think despite him being twice her size and incredibly strong due to him being a warrior and a vampire vampire, once the training begins, Shanice will mostly go to Katsuie for it, since she wants to be able to learn from someone who normally handles this kind or thing, who she trusts and who's strength she can admire.

Mitsuhide:

If the portal between worlds opens up, I can see Shanice taking Mitsuhide to book stores to peruse and pick out whatever he wants to read from time to time, because she knows books in his world have to be hand transcribed so she wants him to have easier access to them.

Mitsuhide's quiet personality vs Shanice's need to constantly ask him questions about himself and his interests is a bit of a surprise for him, I think- especially since she will listen to him very closely. Still, I think Shanice gets that he is a more quiet person so she doesn't overload him in that sense, she simply likes hearing him talk about himself.

If she ever hears someone call him a traitor, she will immediately defend him, not caring if the other person is armed to the teeth or not. That's her bro, her boy, she's not letting this slander exist around her. She also keeps the knowledge that people think of him that way to herself, since she doesn't think he wants her to know people call him that.

While Shanice doesn't really drink or like tea as much as coffee, I think she'd gladly drink any tea Mitsuhide makes her since she is genuinely interested in how he manages to make the same tea taste different by steeping times and all- and she does want him to feel more comfortable with showing his hobbies to others.

@yugenronin wrote a drabble featuring our boys and the scene at the end, where a poor rank-and-file soldier tries to come collect the captain was so funny I was inspired to draw the scene from his point of view!
