First presentation to the public! All Sensui's personalities!! (JUMP, 1994)

- Main personality:

➀ Shinobu Sensui (仙水 忍): The strongest personality with an overwhelming sense of intimidation!

- Personalities in charge of combat:

➁ Minoru (ミノル): a high pride quibbler, talkative personality. ➂ Kazuya (カズヤ): expert in killing, he's a murderer who kills with pleasure even babies!! He often goes hunting for humans with firearms managed by George. ➃ George/Jooji (ジョージ): in charge of the weaponry. He is responsible for collecting and maintenance of the weapons. Sometimes "Kazuya" uses them to hunt people.

- Personalities in charge of the rest:

➄ Naru (ナル): a female personality, crybaby. She appears only before Itsuki. ➅ Makoto (マコト): personality responsible for chores such as cooking, washing, cleaning etc. ➆ Hitoshi (ヒトシ): in charge of the pastime (hobbies). Takes care of animals and plants. Responsible for breeding nearly 100 types of flora and fauna in his home.

Sensui, a man with seven personalities.

Former Spirit World detective. His strength was famous among youkais. Born with a strong spiritual power, he had been targeted by youkais since childhood and has grown to have six personalities during the repeated struggles. Ever since he witnessed the spectacle of human beings oppressing youkais, he has become interested in the "Black Chapter". User of "resshuuken" (Fissure Kick Fist), he has 10 times the spirit power of Yusuke.

What is a Spirit World Detective (Reikai Tantei)?

The main role is to deal with the youkai that affect the Human World. In fact, the history is still recent since Sensui is the second generation whilst Yusuke is from the third generation. From ancient times, there have been many people with spiritual powers in the Human World who exterminate youkai without being involved with the Spirit World. The spirit world detective was a new attempt in the Spirit World to select excellent (?) talented people from among them to deliberately crack down on specific youkai. By the way, the first Spirit World detective is a woman who inherits the blood of "onmyoji" (*kind of specialist in magic and divination whose philosophy was introduced into Japan at the 6th century). Her name is Kuroko Sanada. She worked as a Spirit World detective for 6 years, settling more than ten cases, but retired after getting married. Currently mother of two children. Occasionally, demons will bother her, but her two children will get rid of them...

主人格

仙水 忍: 圧倒的な威圧感を持つ完全最強の人格だ!

戦闘担当

ミノル: 理屈屋でプライドが高く 、 オシヤ ベ リな人格。

カズヤ: 殺し専門で 、 赤子さえ喜んで殺す殺人狂だ!! たびたびジョージの管理する銃器で人間を狩りに行く。

ジョージ: 武器担当。コレクションしている武器の手入れをする。たまに「カ ズヤ」がこれを使って人を 狩りに行く。

それ以外

マコト: 炊事や洗濯 、 掃除などの雑用を行う人格だ。

ヒトシ: 趣味担当。飼育している動植物の世話をする。自宅で飼育している百種類近い動植物の世話をする。

ナル: 女性の人格で 、 泣き虫。樹の前にしか現れない。

登場していない��水の残りの人格は、 雑用(炊事や洗濯、掃除など)を担当する「マコト」。趣味担当の「ヒトシ」。自宅で飼育している百種類 近い動植物の世話をする。武器担当の「ジョージ」。 彼のコレクションしてい銃の手入れ。たまに「カ ズヤ」がこれを使って人を狩りに行く。

仙水-7つもの人格を持つ男

元霊界探偵。妖怪の間でその強さは、有名であった。生まれつき強霊力を持ち、子供の頃から妖怪に狙われていた彼は、繰り返される闘いのなかで6つもの人格を持つようになった。人間が妖怪を虐げる光景を目撃して以来、「黒の章」に関心を示すようになる。裂蹴拳の使い手で、霊力値は幽助の10倍。

霊界探偵とは?

人間界に影響を与える妖怪をとりしまるのが主な役目。実は歴史はまだ浅く、仙水は2代目、幽助は3代目である。もともと昔から、妖怪退治の霊力者は霊界に関わりがなく人間界せしていた に多数存。 霊界探偵はその中から優秀(?)な人材を選び、意図的に特定の妖怪を取り締まろうという霊界の新しい試みだったのだ。ちなみに初代霊界探偵は、陰陽師の血を引く女性。名前は"真田黒呼”。 まじないなどを行う陰陽師の血を引く女性でした。6年間霊界探偵をつとめ、 10数件の事件を解決していますが、結婚を期に退職。現在は2児の母。だまに魔物がちょっかいを出しにきますが、 ふたりの子どもが退治してくれると いうことです ... 。

YYH Official Characters Book: Togashi’s comments about Itsuki, Dr. Kamiya, Mitarai, Hagiri, Amanuma and Makihara.

Itsuki - “Gate Keeper”: has the ability to open a dimensional door. He is a lower B-class youkai called "Yaminade", but can move into the subspace in an event of emergency in addition to have a quite high defense. After being almost defeated by Sensui, they started *dating. It seems he was going out with other humans before meeting Sensui.

*T/N: the verb “tsukiai” (つきあい) is generally used when you’re going out on a date with someone, but the meaning can change according to the context. For example: “to accompany somebody” without any romantic involvement. But, as we don’t have enough context here, I think the author wanted to leave their relationship open to interpretation.

Minoru Kamiya -  “Doctor”: can make humans sick within his territory’s area using a virus created with "nen”. He also has a knifehand strike (tegatana) like a sharp scalpel. He’s an excellent surgeon but has no professional ethics. He is always dreaming of cutting people up. He was involved in an injury case that occurred during his school days, but it was handled confidentially by his father’s power, the hospital director. He still has a complex about this incident and wants to kill his father one day.

Kiyoshi Mitarai - “Seaman”: can mix his own blood with liquid to create a liquid organism. Once captured, you cannot escape unless you defeat him. He’s once drowned in water, he is good at swimming but has a fear of water somewhere in his mind. He recently stopped the swimming school after attending for five years. But the reason wasn’t the fear of water, he was disgusted with himself who sexually looked at women in swimsuits.

Kaname Hagiri - “Sniper”: has the ability to use his energy to manifest targets on an opponents' body and to imprint his energy into projectiles that will never miss the targets. At the age of 16, he was attending a private high school. His father was a police officer but died in service two years ago. Contrary to his public face of an exemplary policeman, Hagiri feared and looked down on his father who was a vicious drinker at home. His future dream is to be a lawyer or a criminal.

Tsukihito Amanuma - “Game Master”: can bring video games to life and make the opponent a character in the game. He’s an only child whose parents both work. He’s a daydreamer and has great confidence in himself. He often goes to convenience stores, arcades and baseball fields near his house. "If you have a TV and a game, even if the world is ruined it’s not  a big deal," he says, but in fact he is lonely person.

Sadao Makihara - “Gourmet”: swallows other people’s bodies completely, making their abilities his own. His hobby, as the name suggests, is eating. He was clumsy and sluggish and was called by the nicknamed "ox" in high school. He’s not the type that makes an effort, but always wanted “to be good at sports, become strong and improve his grades.” These desires combined with his hobby and the incident of the Demon World’s tunnel, awakened his  "gourmet" ability.

仙水 サイド: 仙水の野望のコマとなる、6人の能力者たち! 中でも、樹はの仙水の片腕として手をかす妖怪なのだ!!

樹 ( いつき ) “門番” (ゲートキーパー) : 次元の扉をあける能力を持つ。"闇撫"と呼ばれる 妖怪で 、 妖力はB級の下位程度 だが 、 いざとなればお亜空間に移動できる能力を持ち防御力はかなり高い。仙水に倒されかけるが 、 その後仙水と 、 つきあい始める。仙水の前にも興味を持ってつきあった人間が何人かいるらしい。

神谷実（かみや みのる）“医師” (ドクター): 念で作ったウイルスで領域内の人間を病気にする。又、鋭いメスのように手刀を持っている。優れた外科医だが 、 職業的倫理はない。いつも人を切り刻む夢を見ている。学生時代に起こした傷害事件が病院長の父の力で内密に処理された事がコンプレックスとなり、いつか父を殺しってやり たいと思っている 。

御手洗清志（みたらい きよし） “水兵”（シーマン) : 自らの血液を液体に混ぜ, 液体生物を作り 出すことができる。この中に取り込まれると, 彼を倒さない限り脱出できない。昔、水で溺れたことがある彼は、泳ぎは得意だが心のどこかに水に対する恐怖心がある。五年通っていたスイミングスクールも最近やめた。しかし理由は水への恐怖心ではなく、水着の女性を性的に見てしまう自分がいやになったからだ。　

刃霧要（はぎり かなめ） “狙撃手”（スナイパー): 自らの気を的に変え敵の肉体にしるし、気を込り送んだ物質を確実に命中させる。私立高校に通う16歳で、父親は警官だったが2年前に殉職。模範的な警官という表の顔とは逆に 、 家では酒乱だった父を彼は恐れ、軽蔑もしていた。そんな彼の将来の夢は弁護士か犯罪者。

天沼 月人 (あまぬまつきひと)  “遊熟者” (ゲームマスター): ゲームを現実化し、相手をゲームの登場人物にすることができる。一人っ子で両親は共働き。空想家で自信家。よくいく場所はコンビニ・ゲームセンター・家の近くの野球場。「TVとゲームさえあれば、世界が破滅しても別にいい」と言う彼だが、実はさびしがり屋なのだ。

巻原 定男（まきはらさだお） “美食家”（グルメ): 相手の身体をまるのみして、その能力を自分のものとしてしまう。領域名通り、食うのが趣味。不器用で動きが鈍く、高校時代は「ウシ」というあだ名で呼ばれていた。努力をするようなタイプではなく、常日頃から「楽してスポーツがうまくなりたい」「強くなりたい」「成績を上げたい」と思っている。その事と趣味が相まって、魔界の扉の事件では“美食家”の能力が覚醒する事となった。

Asato Kido - “Shadow”

He has the ability to step on the opponent's shadow and seal off his movements. Despite the stern look, he is fainthearted and the type who depends on others to live. However, subconsciously, he hates himself for being like that. He used to play “shadow stomping” (kagefumi) when he was a child. For some reason, he seemed to become the “oni” (ogre) very often.

Yuu Kaito - "Taboo”

If you say the forbidden word in his territory, your soul will be taken away. His hobbies are human sciences including reading, haiku poetry and translation. Surprisingly, he has a chivalry spirit and his inner humanity can be seen as he cannot use his abilities unless he declares "Do not say xxx (the taboo)”.  

Mitsunari Yanagisawa - "Copy"

He has the ability to copy the appearance and memory of a person by touching on the other person's head. With a strong desire to change his appearance since childhood, his special skill is mimicry. It seems he was scolded when he played poisonous impersonations of his teachers, parents and entertainers as a kid. His typical trademark gag is “If Johnny & Associates were Yoshimoto Kogyo...”.

T/N: “Johnny & Associates” is a Japanese talent agency, formed by Johnny Kitagawa in 1962, which trains and promotes groups of male entertainers known as Johnny's. “Yoshimoto Kogyo” is a Japanese entertainment conglomerate founded in 1912 as a traditional theater. It has since grown to be one of the most influential companies in Japan, employing most of Japan's popular owarai (comedy) talent.

Shigeru Murota - "Tapping”

He has the ability to read the human mind. A man, who has the habit of eavesdropping, is very suspicious and does not trust what people say. During junior high school, the shocking memories of a friend whom he thought to be a close friend speaking ill of him behind his back, seems to be the basis of his current personality.

幽助サイド:

城戸・海藤・柳沢の3人は、当初幻海の作戦で幽助を誘拐し、蔵馬たちを苦しめたが 、その後仲間に!

城戸亜沙斗（きど あさと）領域名 “影”（シャドー）

相手の影を踏み、動きを封める能力。目付きと裏腹に気は弱く、誰かに依存して生きるタイプの彼。しかし 、そんな自分を潜在的に嫌っている 。彼か子供のときよくやった遊びが 「 影踏み 」 。なぜか、オニになることが多かったらしい。

 海藤優 (かいとう ゆう) 領域名 “禁句”（タブー）

領域内で禁句を言うと、魂を取られてしまう。彼の趣味は、読書、俳句、翻訳など完全文系人間。意外に騎士道精神を持っており、「 〇〇 を言ってはいけない」 と宣言しな��れば能力が使えないあたりに、彼の内面的な人間性が見える。

人の心を読む能力を持つ。盗聴癖を持つ男で、さい疑心が強く、 人の言うことを信用しない。中学生のとき、親友と思っていた仲間が陰で自分の悪口を言っていたというショックな思い出が、 現在の彼の人格の根本となっているようだ。

柳沢光成（やなぎさわ みつなり）領域名 “模写”（コピー）

相手の頭に触れることで、外見や記憶などそっくり真似てコピーする能力。子供の頃から変身願望が強かった彼の特技はものまね。子供のときから先生や親・芸能人の形態模写を毒気たっぷりに演じてみては、怒られていたようだ。 代表的持ちネタは「もしもジャニーズ事務所が吉本興業だったら」 。

幽助・桑原の能力とは?

次元を切り裂く桑原の「次元刀」は 、魔界が近づいた影響で出現したのか、霊剣が進化したものか足かではないが、使しい分けができそうなことから、前者と考えられる。幽助にも魔界の影響があるのだろうか!?
