This moment right here? The deep sigh, the way he looks at Wille…This is where Simon’s whole demeanor screams “fuck it, I love him. I don’t care anymore.”

I want wille and simon to travel to a foreign country where they don't recognize wille and get homophobia thrown at them. Because till now we never really see them getting any discrimination so i want especially wille yo face that.

the amount of shit he had to see...,, like the book conversation, the wille felice thing in ep 3 (it 100% killed me the first time i watched and he came in) (i could not stop laughing) (anyways) the dodgeball match, the locker room, everything.
The only people who knows how deep Simon and Wille's relationship:

so the queen gets to step back because of her mental breakdown thus putting more pressure on Wille when Wille wasn’t even allowed to properly mourn the loss of his brother and adjust to his new royal title… sounds about right

the table thing has always been very performative, here’s these boys bragging about what they did but how much of it is embellished in an attempt to impress each other? How many of these boys actually want to detail their relationships and how many are doing it because of the peer pressure and the expectation? that in itself is wille’s situation, as the crown prince he has to play a role, he plays the role correctly, he succumbs to the pressure of the crown and he is applauded, he is celebrated, but he stops the performance, he does something unexpected, something people think the crown prince shouldn’t do and it’s immediately rushed to be covered up.
in season 1 wille strayed from what was expected of him by falling for simon, everyone knows that it’s him in the video but the other students never address that to wille directly, it’s whispers in the corridors and stares when wille and simon pass and the crown rush to cover it. in season 2 he does what people expect in a heteronormative society and he kisses felice and the world deems this relationship ‘appropriate’ it’s one that can be yelled from the rooftops and discussed openly.
simon had to deal with people whispering about him behind his back and people staring at him when he passed and now he has to sit there while the boys pressure wille to reveal what happened with felice and then go as far as to praise him for it. simon must be hidden, simon can only be whispered about because simon is a boy, but felice can be paraded, she can be yelled about because felice is a girl. and this isn’t to say that simon would want the reaction that the boys get to hooking up with a girl but it’s the double standard that gets him.
i feel like simon was at least slightly jealous of felice, he loves wille and i can’t imagine that he could hear about the person he loves being with someone else and not be at least slightly jealous, but the anger he feels about the double standard and the performance eclipses the jealousy. this isn’t just about the different reactions to queer vs ‘straight’ relationships but also the real wille vs the performance of the crown prince wilhelm. simon knows the real wille, he knows him intimately and he also has to witness him putting on the mask of the crown prince, he’s one of the few people who has seen the real wille because the crown wants him to stay hidden and to only show the performance of the crown prince wilhelm.
in conclusion simon is pissed because the double standards of a heteronormative society push him to be hidden which is a parallel to how the crown pushes the real wille to be hidden because the world must see him as the perfect crown prince
Lisa saying that Simon’s anger over Wille’s kiss with Felice being announced at lunch was not because Simon is jealous or threatened by Felice but rather he was angry at seeing an act of “straightness” from Wille being celebrated and cheered about, as well as the obvious invasion of privacy.
Imagine how hurtful that was for Simon. Everyone in the school knows they’ve slept together but they were never once celebrated for it - in fact they had to keep it a secret - and now that Wille has gone and kissed a girl, suddenly it’s all slaps on the back and cheering and whooping.

Why this line was the last straw?
"Why can't I decide how the hell I want to live? I want to live a normal life."
Before S1E1 even hits the 3-minute mark, we see a frustrated Wille make this statement. We, the audience, think it's simply the spoiled demands of a privileged prince.
We come to find out that it's not. It's a boy being forced into a role he doesn't fit into. He's a square peg being shoved into a round hole.
Then he meets Simon. Then he becomes Crown Prince.
"I can't keep doing this anymore."
He tries, but he can't. So, he goes back to Simon. Then he * fucks * up again. The video is leaked. More shame on the family. He lies to be a good prince.
He's surrounded by the privileged and expected to act like the privileged while loving someone unprivileged. August betrays him and hurts Simon because he isn't a good enough Prince.
August: "You have it all, and you don't want it." (paraphrasing).
August can be his backup, but he hates August for what he did. Except Wille is getting desperate. He's lost Simon, and he considers letting that happen to give him the normal life he always wanted. Except August is worse than he thought. August would send Simon to jail to protect himself.
He wants to be a good prince and not let August take the role, somewhat out of spite, too.
Wille - impulsive last-minute Wille - decides, mid-freakin'-speech, to try being true to himself and remain a Royal, and he outs himself publicly and declares that it was him with Simon in the video.
It doesn't change anything, though. In fact, it gets worse. Now, Simon has to fit into the mold of a Royal, and he's miserable. Wille tries to explain how it works but he can't. It's half-hearted. He doesn't believe in it, so how can he sell it to Simon? He doesn't think Simon should have to stop posting his music or being who he is, but it's what is expected of him. It's how the privileged act. They expect the lower class to conform to their wishes. They don't care about the wants or needs of the lower classes.
Simon breaks up with him. Wille's defeated because he knows Simon is right. Simon will never be happy being stuck in the expectations of Royal life. But Wille isn't either. And Wille sees that his mother isn't happy - she's having a mental breakdown. Erik wasn't the perfect brother either. He did toxic things and then covered it up.
Everyone is fake. Except Simon, so he lets him go.
"You'll make a great King."
This was the last straw. Wille had never heard that before. Everything he's ever done has been the wrong thing. The wrong way of thinking. The wrong way of acting. Wanting the wrong things. When he tried to make it right, it failed. Now, his mother is telling him that he'll make a Great King. Why? Because he gave up Simon and tried to fake it like everyone else.
And in that moment, our impulsive last-minute Wille, decides that 'no. he will not make a great king.' He stops just trying to get approval from his parents. He will not carve out pieces of himself to fit in that round hole, and he runs. He runs away from it and runs towards a life where he can make his own choices. He doesn't know who he wants to be, but he knows it's not King.
A hopeful ending. Not a happy ending.
