They will work out the whole problem, like lions." - Swami Vivekanand Today is International Youth Day -2021, as The United Nations decided in 1999 to celebrate it on August 12 every year. Coincidentally that was the year I was blessed with a baby boy who is now a youth of 21. Theme for this year is "Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health ''. This theme has been decided in consideration of the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has on human health, the environment, and food systems; and it was chosen by the UN after these issues were highlighted at ECOSOC Youth Forum (EYF) 2021. According to UNESCO, ''Youth Programme emphasizes in its work that youth are not just beneficiaries, but they are essential leaders and partners in finding solutions to the issues faced by young people in the world today." Youths are leaders, partners and innovators with their winner & warrior spirit and have the immense potential to excel in personal lives and transform the world for better by working purposefully. However, youth can turn their immense potential only if they have proper guidance, right education, cultivate good values, develop requisite skills and mindset, and above all work with a sense of purpose and meaning to contribute to society and the world. As average age of population in India is around 28 years, it’s one of the youngest among big nations and tops the list when it comes to the countries with the highest number of youth population in the world. It’s a mammoth task when it’s comes to educating, skilling, grooming, and preparing youths to face tomorrow’s challenges with confidence and lead effectively. I am committed to contribute in my own way by guiding these powerhouses to maximise their potentials. My new book, “HOW YOUTH CAN WIN NOW “, is a sincerest effort in that direction as this guidebook can help them lead a happy, healthy, wealthy and meaningful life !
