Kazuha + You Die

a/n: this was so sad ahh

Kazuha remembers the day you died, as if it was still fresh in his memory. Everything was perfect, you and Kazuha had settled down in a little house not far from the harbor. You gave birth to your child a year ago, but it seemed things only worsened from there.

You had soon fallen ill, so ill that you had to be bedridden in a hospital. Kazuha had his hands full, between taking care of the baby and maintaining the house, but always made time to go visit you. He would usually bring the baby along with him, so you could also see your child and so she could also see you.

Some nights both Kazuha and the baby were restless, Kazuha twisting and turning in the bed, missing your warmth and comfort, willing to do anything just to have your presence by his side again. The baby felt the same way, crying all night, causing poor Kazuha to calm the baby with a lullaby he learned from you.

The day you died was one of the hardest days of Kazuha’s life. The worst part was he knew the day would soon come and could do nothing to stop it. The nurses had informed him of your condition and mentioned how it only worsened over time.

Kazuha was devastated when his beloved’s breathing became less and less frequent. He could feel that yourtime in this world was coming to an end, but he didn't want to believe it.

"Don't go... my love... I can't be...without you... I need you... Please..."

"Kazuha, dear... I love you, you know that. But I can't continue fighting this disease anymore... I've tried as hard as I could and that's all I could've ever done."

"I'm dying, my love... There's no way around it."

"Please...please be strong... for our daughter...and...yourself..”

“I love you...”

Those were your last words you spoke as your breathing finally stopped.

Kazuha felt alone once again, but heard the cries of your daughter, the last ray of hope in his darkened life.

The blonde looked at him "...a-am Natsume.." he said, "thank you...a-and s-sorry for the trouble." Natsume bowed his head. His blonde hair was a mess bag under his heterochromia eyes. He looked like a human new soul that hadn't gained their sinner form?

As he glanced up quickly before looking back at the ground with his lips pressed "A-and your name? I-if you don't mind me asking," he said as he fidgeted with his fingers.

As the figure threw money at the driver and shouted, "Take him somewhere safe!", they slammed the cab door shut, throwing a blonde feminine male inside. The blonde shouted, "Wait!" before the figure ran off, leaving the blonde unable to stop them.

The blonde sighed as he held his face in his hands.

Money answers nothing.

Regardless, Roth had a passenger and some basic requests. Despite the cash, Roth knew enough cliches and tropes to know this is trouble. Roth debated his next move.

He could throw them out. They looked scrawny enough, that should be easy. Then again, Roth had some trouble considering that move. Despite the sleaze, there was a kernel of honor, of dignity, inside his cold heart.

So, despite his better demons, followed the request. Besides, money greases his altruistic senses.

Driving on, Roth considers where he can take the stranger. He couldn’t take them to Gehenna Headquarters. He thought about the Hotel . . . but he hated Alastor on principle. Roth figures he should know more about them.

“What’s your name?”

Roth asked that question, with a tone that demanded an answer.
