   In the heat of battle, Takumi generally didn’t complain about who fought alongside. If they were pointed at the same enemy, he didn’t have the time to think too hard about the specifics. There were more pressing matters, like keeping himself alive.

But now, he found himself in rather odd company. This woman, was it a woman or a little girl, with an… interesting outfit and horns was dispensing pain just as fast as he was on their enemies. Also, was she balancing a sake dish or was his mind playing tricks on him? He wasn’t one to stare, but he couldn’t help the occasional glance. He told himself he was doing it to ensure that he wouldn’t suddenly be double-crossed.

Soon, the monsters in the area were all dead, leaving just the two of them. A tight quiet settled into the area, and Takumi soon found himself more on edge than he had been fighting the beasts from before. He should say something, right? Or should he just keep to himself? Quickly, he slung the Fujin Yumi over his back and cleared his throat.

    “Uh… Good job.” Hopefully that didn't sound insincere. “What did you say your name was?”

❁ – Byakuren’s not certain what’s more appalling: the overwhelming stench of alcohol that pummels her as she enters the apartment, or all the... whatever that is that’s scattered around the floor of the apartment. Past all that mess, her gaze trails toward the tidiest thing in the room by comparison, freezing once she catches sight of that form. On the couch rests an oni, as relaxed and cozy as can be. This certainly explains the smell....

She can accept this reality, she thinks -- there can absolutely be those that are worse to live with, can’t there? After an awkward pause filled with her staring at the other, she becomes aware she’s doing this and shifts her gaze. This is no time to be lost in thought.

“...I am Byakuren Hijiri. I will be living here from now on.” Regardless of whether the other is dead or merely sleeping, it’s only polite to make introductions; this she does before removing her boots and proceeding.

          From what he’s seen of the city thus far, it’s state is in less than ideal of a state than he feels comfortable with. Were repairs impossible in such a place? Or have they just not had time to get around to them yet? Regardless, he's not sure exactly where to begin with gathering information on what he needs in the moment -- figuring anywhere would be good, just as long as he starter -- setting aside the questions he can find answers to later.
