#QuickFireThree with Kanaida Povey: Meet CFT’s 2017 Emerging Artist in Residence.

1. What made you apply for Chichester Festival Theatre’s Emerging Artist in Residency?

Well, I’ve always been interested in Theatre and I wanted to try and see what kind of job in the Arts industry outside of University where it’s all very studio based so gaining some experience out of the studios was important to me.

2. How is the residency influencing your work so far or any future work you have planned?

So far I am just spending a lot of time thinking about how I can adjust my work to fit into Theatre, so spending time looking at the Theatre itself, how work fits into the space and then how I can be influenced by that in my work.

3. Do you have any words of encouragement for young fine art students like yourself that are considering applying?

Have good time management! Time management is key! So I think always try and be organised with your work, which I know can be hard for some art students because we don’t always like to sit down and organise but I am so glad I did it!
