It is kinda. And I love being in fandom spaces, where I can just refer to "my husbands" or "my other husband" and nobody bats an eye at it.

Also HILARIOUS is when for some reason the two guys are doing something together, with the kids or without, and people start perceiving them as a gay couple. They both were doing the grocery run together once, and there was a little old lady watching them and smiling at them and they just knew she thought they were a gay couple and she was happy for them - and they didn't say anything, because yeah they weren't a gay couple, but they're totally down with people being happy to see a gay couple!

Another thing really funny about it? Listening to people's reactions to finding out you have two husbands. Because it always, always tells me way more about them! Younger husband's grandmother found out, her question was "she has to sleep with both of you?" I hear this from him, laugh, say "honeybear, I am so sorry, but apparently your grandfather was TERRIBLE in bed." People say "you have to pick up after both of them?" and I'm like aha, you have to look after your husband like you're his mom and he's a toddler, huh? So sorry for you.

Oh, another hilarious thing - years ago, our youngest were a toddler and preschooler at this point, the church that Older Husband and I and the kids went to (great place, pastor and staff very true to the actual Christlike behavior thing, but Younger Husband has mental trauma issues and can't handle churches) had a photographer there, they wanted to get pictures of all the church members, but you could also get discounted rates for getting full family pictures. So we all dressed up and went to do it. Photographer's assistant is looking at the paperwork we filled out, laughs and says "oh, no, don't do the paperwork that way, that makes it look like there's three of you married!" "Yes," we said. Apparently that sailed right over their heads. Photographer couldn't seem to figure out if YoungerHusband was an adult son (I'm older than him but NOT BY THAT MUCH) or an uncle or what. Bwahahaha. They did it again a few years later, and I don't think they understood any better. Couple of precious pictures though.

i cant speak for other polyam people but being in a triad/throuple relationship in real life is just inherently funny. show up to the family function with two guys and everyone else has one guy. just seems like a power move every time even though we're just living our lives. hilarious. i recommend this for comedic value alone
