Thoughts about Dooku and Sifo Dyas in the imperial era? Like if they role-swapped with Cal Kestis' or something?
Oh, this is SUCH a fun ask, thank you. :D
Dooku in an Imperial world. It seems like it would be so tasty, but I might be getting too distracted picturing him in those slutty little uniforms.
The problem I see is that Dooku by RotS seemed so genuinely fucked up to me, to the point of being almost incapable of thriving in an Imperial world. Legends does a great job depicting his absolutely crumbling mental and emotional state, a man who loses track of his own POV and replaces it with Sidious’s in the middle of a book he’s narrating, but I think even in the relatively sparser depictions of him during that time in current canon, the cracks show. He’s not scheming against either Palpatine or the Jedi effectively, he seems like he’s losing control of his own kingdom of lies, his final (?) Clone Wars appearance with the ritual to psychic-attack Yoda, he seems downright fucking miserable the whole time. He’s like just sitting in a room dissociating when Sidious calls to tell him he’ll need his blood for this ritual, and you can fucking HEAR his sigh.
Beyond his emotional and mental state, I don't feel like we have a clear idea of what Dooku thought his own end game for after the war. Stover’s batshit “honorable retirement in Sidious’s wonderful new Empire” smells a little off to me and I think the RotS novel got decanonized? I could see him wanting to take over training of the Inquisitors - fuck, he’s been trying to do that with his Sith apprentices for ages - but really, is Sidious going to let him anywhere near that project? Somehow, I don't think so.
I think Dooku ends up quite like he himself daydreams about in Yoda: Dark Rendezvous:
I don’t see a depressed, lightning-cooked shell of himself doing particularly well or lasting long in a cutthroat Imperial command structure. Vader was groomed for the role for years and still is shown struggling with his position in the OT.
Of course, it’s much more fun to picture him coming to his senses, realizing Sidious’s bullshit, and joining the fight against the Empire in some kind of personal vendetta against the man who convinced him to destroy everything he loved and then planned to dump him, but… I don’t know. Dooku seems broken and defeated to me at the end, and coming to his senses about everything he gave up to get to that rock bottom, I think would completely collapse him as a person. I’m trying to do something like this in my fic The Thunder Answered Back, which... perhaps tellingly... hasn't been updated in a year because Dooku just keeps lying down on the floor.
Sifo-Dyas is much more interesting and likely to my mind, because he’s essentially been preparing his whole life for this moment. The Living Force has him by the end of his life being able to use his precognition effectively enough that the Council is using it as a tool, presumably that would be a huge advantage in staying one step ahead of Imperial raids and Inquisitors. He’s also a Jedi Master, former High Councilmember, trained by a High Republic era Jedi Master himself. He represents a huge amount of generational knowledge of the Jedi Order.
@dapurinthos had a FANTASTIC Sifo-Dyas on the Path AU post reply somewhere that I wish I could find because they are smarter and funnier than me and it was truly perfect. In summation: yes, Sifo-Dyas is a huge pain in the ass for the Empire. Boinking Inquisitors on the head features strongly.
Now. Fanfic nonsense it? Swap in younger idealist Dooku and his seer bestie Sifo-Dyas into a Cal Kestis scenario? Two brave fated young Padawans against the Empire? No. They die the first day. Going off just the first part of Dooku: Jedi Lost, those two idiots lost a fight with: a bookshelf, each other, literally some bacta, a hallucination (several times), Dooku’s dad, moss… and that’s just going off the top of my head.
Sorry guys. They get crushed in one of those scary doors in like the first two seconds.

Hii. I just came across your blog and I have a couple questions..
How old were you when you realized you were a regressor? Because I think I might be one, but I’m only fifteen so maybe I’m too young to regress. And how do you know when you slip? Because some times when I’m tired I get giggly and babble but idk what that really means.
And whenever I read age fics about kpop groups, the reader always regresses with a member or their cg but I don’t have one. Do you find it hard to regress when alone? And how do you know how old you are when in little space?
I know I have a lot of questions but I’m scared and confused and I’ve never talked to anyone about it so I was hoping I could talk to you.
But I love you find so much comfort in Woozi, I do too, he makes me feel safe and protected☺️
hey there!! I'm so glad I made you feel safe enough to ask all this, I hope I can help you out.
my journey as a regressor, I think I was doing it for a long time before I made the connection and before I even knew what it was. I only admitted it to myself that I regress coming up on two years ago now, but I was writing agere fanfiction back in 2018, and de-aging fanfic probably about 13 years ago. The first time I came across anything agere related was when I was 15-ish, so about your age. I'm 27 now. But I think I have some foggy memories of being much younger than that and showing signs of regressing. I've seen other age regressors that are younger than you and active in the community, too. Obviously there's a limit to how young you can be to regress to certain ages (You can't regress to being mentally 8 when you are physically 8 lol) and I don't know how young you go but I doubt that's a problem here haha.
For me, I can tell when I'm regressing by how I feel and think. I feel giddy and bubbly in a way I don't when I'm big, and always kinda pouty. And I have a bit of a lisp struggling with R's and L's, and my balance is worse, so I'm wobbly. I tend to want to curl up in someone's arms and get cuddles and just be held and doted on and loved... But I don't have a caregiver, either. So I settle for daydreams. Lots of them. A lot of them with Seventeen and Woozi and Joshua giving me the parental love I never got as a kid, and the safety I never had.
Honestly, a lot of figuring out my age is just vibes and a gut feeling. Sometimes it's easier, like if I want a sippy, or I want to run around outside and play. But most of the time I just play around in my head with how I feel calling myself certain ages and figure it out on what feels right.
It can be challenging to regress on my own, especially if I'm stressed from work (these last couple of weeks have been brutal tbh), so admittedly sometimes I have to calm myself down with big-me techniques like meditating or something in order to be able to indulge in my main coping mechanism hahaha. And sometimes I don't even regress at all, despite my best efforts. But focusing on just trying for a little bit even helps me relax some!
It's okay that you're scared about this. I was too and I think that's why it took me like 10 years to admit I was doing it! And even then, buying my first pacifier was terrifying. Letting myself try intentionally regressing was the scariest thing, and if I hadn't have been mid-panic attack and desperate for relief, who knows if I ever would have! But it's going to all be okay, and YOU are going to be okay. If it helps, it helps, and if it doesnt, it doesn't, and that's okay.
All this is from my perspective of doing it as a coping mechanism and reclaiming a childhood lost to bad things, but if you're doing it for fun or just because it feels good, that's okay too! That's why I regress most of the time tbh. It's so fun and relaxing to just kick back and color with my paci and some Blues Clues. Half of the reason I'm looking forward to moving out is because I'll be able to regress whenever I want and not have to hide it. So whatever your reason for regressing, totally valid. You don't even need a reason!
I hope this has helped in any way 🥺 Feel free to message me whenever you need or if you have more questions! I may be a tiger cub when I'm tiny but I can be a papa bear when I'm big, so I'll be happy to help you with whatever you need 😊
(Also yeah! Safe and protected is also exactly how I feel about Woozi 🥺 I call him eomma in my headspace for a reason lol. I'm sooo glad you get it!!!)
#im so sorry if u wanted this answered privately#im answering on my phone and idk how to do that and dont want to retype this monster sized reply#but lmk immediately if u want me to take it down and i can just like message u the answer#anyway take care and i hope ur doing well 🥺#big me talking

1, 23, 28, 48 for the fanfic asks?
Sure!
Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
It's kind of a mix of both. I daydream a lot. I spend a significant amount of my time daydreaming both original stories and fanfiction. What I actually write is a tiny fraction of my daydreams. That being said, if I'm writing a very long fic, then a lot of the scenes are things I come up with in the moment or plan in an outline without really daydreaming leisurely. My one shots and dramatic moments in longer fics usually come from daydreams though.
An example of my extensive daydreaming is that I've basically had most of the The Wings of War outlined in my head for the past year, and I've only recently started writing it.
23. Is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? Hardest?
The beginning and end are usually easiest for me. I'm an outliner, so I know how I want the story to begin and end, and I know the big plot points, but I find filling in the middle parts can be tough, especially because I know it has to connect to the end I have in mind, so I never let the story just go wherever I feel in the moment. Planning so much in advance can be helpful but it can also make writing feel restrictive at times, since I don't want to end up writing a plot point that doesn't align with the end goal.
28. What area of writing do you want to improve in?
Action and battle scenes are tough for me. I take a lot of inspiration from fantasy and history, but I still don't feel like I've cracked the code when it comes to writing fight scenes. I think this is because most combat doesn't interest me nearly as much as dialogue and descriptions of things like clothing and architecture. I think I'm good at writing what I pay attention to and what interests me. When writers describe battles, my mind either goes blank, or I struggle to visualize what's happening, and that lack of understanding/interest makes it difficult to explore the subject in writing.
48. Who is your favorite character to write for? Has this changed since you’ve started writing for that fandom?
Oh boy...my favourite HTTYD character to write for honestly changes quite a bit depending on what I've written recently. I really loved writing evil vampire Dagur in my vampire AU "Maces and Talons." It was really fun to explore such a depraved and gleefully evil character.
I also loved writing Viggo in any of the oneshots I've written about him (I think I have 3), because he was so likeable despite being such a cruel person. Currently, I think Nuffink is my favourite POV character in "The Wings of War" because he reminds me so much of my younger self -- but I'm also currently drafting a chapter from Astrid's perspective and I'm finding that really fun, because I haven't explored her character very much yet, and I'm getting to create interesting details about her family life and her fears and worries. Honestly, I think I'll love any character if I write about them enough, because I have to get in their head and understand them.
There's a couple characters I haven't introduced or written POV chapters for yet that I'm very much looking forward to because of how much fun I had daydreaming about them. Specifically Dagur's son Rainier, and any of the antagonists who have POV chapters. I'm excited to explore their beliefs and how they justify their actions.

I may be arm chairing a little, but from this post it sounds like you have a harsh inner critic that is not strictly related to canon stuff, but also 'cringe'.
I did the same thing when I was younger. I had composition notebooks filled and filled with handwritten fanfic, the most dramatic love triangles with n*ruto characters and every other hyperfixation under the sun. I just wrote down the various daydreams I had and turned em into stories, like I do now.
Kid me saw folks consistently mocking this way of having fun, calling certain things/tropes 'cringe' and bullying. For a while I was fine, the inner critic was a dick but I was around friends who were having fun with me. When I moved to posting fanfic publicly, it changed a bit. When I got harassed for a year straight and stalked a bit over 'mischaracterization', even when folks were insanely supportive, I let that eat me up instead and it got added to the Harsh Inner Critic voice.
Some things that have helped me is:
-> believing that 'cringe' is dead. An elaboration: stop shaming yourself for having fun. If you are not actively harming anyone or similar, why do you need to shame yourself so much for having fun with writing [in this context] bishie vampire versions of historical folks.
We're doing this as stress relief. As a hobby. For fun! Some of us may be using fanfiction as practice for writing our own novels one day, but the fanfiction is still For Fun. If you continue to shame yourself and let the Inner Critic step on you, you'll hit a point where you won't let yourself write at all, and that hurts more than anything.
-> understand that as you're writing your fanfic, everything sounds poorly written to You, who has built up this fantasy in your head and youre trying to do it justice by writing it out. In your mind, it's never going to compare to the fantasy you imagined.
But to a reader? They never saw that fantasy until they read what you wrote, and they're having a Fuckin Blast reading it. They don't know whats going to happen as they read it, and they're having fun every step of the way, happy to have a new fantasy to think about thanks to YOUR words.
-> canon is good to run with, but is not an end all be all. For this I'm going to sound stupid but like. Bear with me.
In canon, Licht hates carrots (iirc). Hates em, won't eat em. But what if I want to write a fanfic about Mc trying to cook carrots in various ways to get him to eat them? Is that canon compliant? I mean its likely he wouldnt even try anything carrot related, but writing about him trying sifferent methods and maybe liking One version of carrots out of 8 different methods of cooking them doesn't mean he magically likes carrots forever, and I've Broken the Canon Code- it just means I explored the bounds of that part of his character.
And that's how I like to treat canon. A foundation of the character, like the foundation of a house. Sometimes we change the inside of the house, but the overall structure stays the same. Just because we play around with the inside doesn't mean we're destroying the foundation.
But then sometimes we want to imagine we live in a house that feels like home (the character) but we want to paint it a different color- aus! Cyb*rd does this, we get many au events that change some concepts of the character, their backstories, or even who they are! So ... why can't we? Why can't we do aus where they're different but Still Them. Maybe au Isaac isn't isaac newton, man who discovered gravity, but Au isaac is still our Isaac. With pink hair, a nervous personality, a lot of wit, fangs, and having a stutter. Just because the background is different, doesn't mean we can't explore the Idea.
And also!!! Ikev*mp has had implied poly stories before!! So that def excuses you exploring poly with them anyway (not that you needed an excuse, but you can shove that at the inner critic). They even had a story where Arthur and Vlad and. Someone. Grew up in japan in ye old red light district. Slept with people for money. They were so far removed from their normal characters but so many people still had fun exploring that 'what if' with the event. And as fandom, we thrive on exploring those 'what if's, and thats not a bad thing at all.
I feel like none of this makes any sense, I'm sorry. My thoughts and views are hard to explain so I keep trying to use metaphors and its not helping.
All in all...its always easier said than done. I keep these things loosely in mind, but I also... don't surround myself with people who complain about this stuff constantly. Like. In fandoms past, I used to have people consistently having private group messages picking apart fanfics for no damn reason. I was constantly on my toes terrified that I'd lose friendships for writing ideas that were 'cringe' or too 'ooc'. And yaknow? It wasn't fun. At all. Those groups eventually imploded and i was Thankful to get out.
So, I found friends who did not discourage 'what ifs'. I found friends who did not shame me for forgetting small details. I found friends who would gently bonk me on the head when I had anxiety attacks over something not sounding 1000% canon. Who would remind me that it's not the end of the world to mess up a line, or to write a 'shitty' story (because our words are not shitty!!! They are us exploring writing.) Not everything we create will be amazing.
These friends helped me start analyzing the way I think because I wanted to be more like them, and why the harsh inner critic controls me more than I get to control me. And usually by analyzing the roots of that, my emotions with it, it helped me pick apart why I have trouble letting myself have fun.
I read about how some published authors view their works. I read about how authors read past work and maybe feel like it wasn't their best now, but it was the best they could write at the time and they were Proud of their past selves still. I remind myself that perfection is not a requirement when playing with creative outlets.
I wrote character notes not to use as fuel to scold myself with, but because I found the act of digging into what made these characters themselves as Fun. I started trying to treat myself as I would my friends, which is insanely hard for me to do but. Small steps are still progress!
I feel a bit insane typing this all out because I cannot tell if this makes sense, and I am feeling shy. I am going to stop now but I hope maybe some of that helps?
I think I like to consider canon as a brace for headcanons and fun imaginings, but not something that is entirely required.
Canon is great. Its a foundation for many ideas and toying with. But its not an end all be all for Every Little Thing. And I like that. I like exploring what canon does not, i feel like thats what fandom is For.
Its also fun to play with canon and bend it a little. I like not having to restrict myself to being 100% canon and canon only.

4! 6! 11! 25! 40! 44! 81!
(Ask Game)
Oh my gosh, that's so many! Thank you!
4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? Technically? Some Stars - the Among Us crossover. But that one's in progress, so it might not count. Unpublished would probably be the post-canon bittersweet story where Gordon realizes Benrey is still alive, but trapped on Xen, millions of lightyears and multiple dimensions away. It's really tough for me to balance bittersweet moods, so it's stuck in development hell for now.
6. do you have any kind of consistent writing schedule or just hoping for the best? I try to sit down to write every day after work. It doesn't always happen - sometimes I talk to friends for a few hours, sometimes I'm too tired to even stay awake a few hours. I try to get something done every day - but no, no consistent schedule, unfortunately.
11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general? Most of my research is incidental - I'll usually put something in my writing that I already researched for another reason, like the entire Suez Canal fic. I'd been following the news reports, so I already had a decent idea of what had happened, and I think I only looked up some specifics of how the canal pilot system operates. I like having things be accurate, so I tend to do quick lookups for some things, but I am also easily distractible, and so have to be careful not to get sucked into reading something when I'm supposed to be writing.
25. what’s your revision or rewriting process like? Almost nonexistent. I am really bad at writing multiple drafts - I write one draft then go back and reread, nitpicking as I go. It worked for school essays and it's been working for fics as well.
40. best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten. Any time someone tells me my writing made them feel something. That's the ultimate goal, honestly.
44. any writing advice you want to share? You gotta write. You have to sit down and put words on the page. I know, I know - daydreaming about the plot is SO much easier and more fun and better - but I'm telling you, you gotta write it down or it will go away. I have so many ideas in my "for later" doc that I was surprised by on a reread because I had completely forgotten about them. If I hadn't written them down, those ideas would have been gone forever.
81. if you could go back in time and give your younger self a piece of writing advice specific to you, what would it be? Honestly, get into fanfic writing earlier. I've been reading fanfic for ages, but never felt like I had a worthwhile idea to add until my first HLVRAI fic. And now that I've thought about it so much, I can look at other media and go "hmm...what if...?" Plus, I've met so many wonderful people through my fics, and it just makes me think I could have met so many more if I'd been writing fanfic for half as long as I've been reading fanfic.

𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 - 𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐤𝐞𝐢𝐣𝐢
to 100-0
like so sad
do i feel bad for doing this to yall yes. but i am curel to myself too! so have fun!
𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 - 𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐤𝐞𝐢𝐣𝐢
- akaashi took advantage of his childhood friend y/n knowingly, and ghosted her for someone else.
I got my driver's license last week
her e/c looked out of the front of her car watching herself drive past down her street.
Just like we always talked about 'Cause you were so excited for me
the female could feel her eyes watering as her tears stream down her face wetting it. reminding her of the day that she found the love of her life with someon else. oh how much she cried that day.
she wanted to punch his stupid perfect face
perfect eyes
perfect body
perfect everything
akaashi was just perfect.
that it was too good to be true
To finally drive up to your house But today I drove through the suburbs Crying 'cause you weren't around
y/n was so heartbroken when she saw him at their favorite cafe with someone else. he had ghosted her for the past 2 weeks and barely contacted her. they were dating still and it hurt her.
on a very cold winter day, she decided to go get some coffee. instead of happy memories rushing in the heartache did.
And you're probably with that blonde girl Who always made me doubt She's so much older than me
she was a pretty blonde foreign girl, who was tall and had beautiful green eyes. she was definitely older than y/n and akaashi. she was mature. she had a perfect body.
she was perfect.
perfect eyes
perfect body
perfect everything.
the blonde was also just perfect.
She's everything I'm insecure about Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs 'Cause how could I ever love someone else?
the h/c was driving mindlessly as despair surged into her body as if it was her only life support. the only thing that kept her alive was her own depression.
ironic isn't it?
the thing that killed many, made her stay alive.
And I know we weren't perfect but I've never felt this way for no one And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay now that I'm gone
another round of tears flooded her eyes as a sinking feeling in her chest bloomed. she remebered confronting him alone.
he kept a straight face.
his once warm eyes were now cold.
he looked at her with such disgust and annoyance.
it broke y/n...it made her feel so insecure.
so useless
so stupid
all the dark-haired male had to say was....
" bye."
Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me 'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street
Lifeless e/c eyes looked and examined the house that he lived in remebering all the times they had in his front yard.
the small cheesy picnics
the snowball fights with their friends
the stargazing
the pictures they took of each other.
the warm feeling of the sun touching their skin while their hearts skipped a beat each time they touched or made eye contact.
And all my friends are tired Of hearing how much I miss you, but I kinda feel sorry for them
her friends
their friends
they did not know about his girlfriend, until they all reunited during spring break of her 2nd year of college. instead of seeing y/n and akaashi being lovey dovey. they saw akaashi and some girl.
who even was she?
y/n’s once lively self was dull and stoic. usually she would jump into bokutos arms and fangirl over how cute hinata was still, but instead they all received a fake smile. it broke their hearts and angered many.
'Cause they'll never know you the way that I do, yeah Today I drove through the suburbs And pictured I was driving home to you
bokuto, the one who introduced you two as children was offended. she was his cousin. he asked akaashi for his reasons without anyone knowing. akaashi just looked away and shrug.
And I know we weren't perfect But I've never felt this way for no one, oh
“ i didn’t feel the spark anymore, but when i met Kila. she became the sun in my eyes. she is so bright and gorgeous. she is just...amazing….”
“ y/n was just the moon during a winter sky. cute but dull and boring. she could be bright, but did not stand out, i guess ”
And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay, now that I'm gone I guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me 'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street
in that moment, akaashi’s grey-blue eyes widened when he saw a fist coming straight to his face. Akaashi fell to the floor and looked up at his senpai in shock.
he had never seen bokuto look that scary before. instead of going into emo mode, he went into pissed off mode. His eyes piercing into the younger males soul
the nerve
Red lights, stop signs I still see your face in the white cars, front yards
“ WE ARE ALL CHILDHOOD FRIENDS!! SHE LOVED YOU!! AKAASHI” the white-haired male shouted with tears running down, “ YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MY BROTHER!! YOU TOLD ME YOU WOULD NEVER HURT HER!! YOU ASSHOLE!”
“ Y/N IS NOT DULL!! SHE IS NOT JUST CUTE! SHE IS FUCKING GORGEOUS WAY BETTER THAN THAT STUPID BLONDE YOU HAVE NOW!! “
unknowest to them, y/n was sitting against the wall of the building the two had met up and cried silently.
“ YOU-Yo...You promised me...you promised.”
bokuto weeps falling onto his knees infront of his bestfriend.
he promised to take care of her and love her
to never hurt her
and he failed
“ i guess her light is to bright that it...*choke* it blinded you akaashi....it blinded you from seeing her beauty.”
Can't drive past the places we used to go to 'Cause I still fuckin' love you, babe (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
this y/n shook her head and woke up from her daydreaming. she did not know that she stopped the car in front of his house for a minuts. the s/c female sighed shakingly and pushed on the pedal to continue on going.
she needed to move on...but she knew she would never.
Sidewalks we crossed I still hear your voice in the traffic, we're laughing
she continued on driving more hearing his laugh ringing in her ears as memories kept on flushing through. she hoped he was happy
she hoped it was worth it for him
losing all his friends
losing his bestfriend
losing her
Over all the noise God, I'm so blue, know we're through But I still fuckin' love you, babe (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
present y/n looked up with a microphone in hand as she watched the audience infront of her sing the lyrics.
they all looked at her with eyes of support
the same ones her friends and family gave her as she tried to move one
y/n broke down smiling and blowing kisses at her fans as she sang her song
I know we weren't perfect but I've never felt this way for no one
she was letting it out
she finally moved one
she wanted everyone to know that she was inlove once to and that no one is alone.
she felt free and happy
and...she got her drivers license. yeah, she was 20 years old, and should have gotten it earlier, but she had him...she had him to take her away from here.
now she has herself and her license
one that they planned to get it together after akaashi said that she needed one even if she sucked at driving. it made the two laugh.
now that was just a memory
And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay, now that I'm gone
she sung softly
not noticing a pair of grey-blue eyes staring up at her with awe. the girl he called “ dull and boring” was far from that, he was blind.
her brightest was so bright that it made him blind.
“ whoever broke y/n like that it stupid”
“ right? when she said that her ex ghosted her and left her for someone else it was so sad! they were childhood friends too!”
“ his lost.”
“ it was your lost akaashi.” he muttered to himsef watching the female laugh and cry at the song, she wrote about their love story.
'Cause you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me 'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street Yeah, you said forever, now I drive alone past your street
she finally felt free after writing this song, but her love for the boy was still there. first love is hard fo forget of course. it’s the one that hurts the most.
she was not perfect
he was not either
it took him to realize how much he needed her
when he let her go
akaashi was wrong
she was bright
she was not dull
he was just blind to it all...
blinded by her beauty
blinded by her personality
and her glow
that it made him ignorant to it all.
maybe his beautiful y/n was too bright for him
too bright for him to handle.
as i said sorry but not sorry T-T
i am also crying tbh. if yall are.
bc idk why i hate it when ppl cheat but i keep reading angsty fanfics about it bc they are so good. don't cheat ppl it hurts
i will be uploading more on my masterlist soon! so watch out!

ch 9: in which namjoon's bomb reaches all the way from gwangju to busan
“Noonim. I like you so, so much.”
You knew.
You knew all too well, and you had so many answers thought up in your head when you daydreamed about this moment for months.
And yet, right now, as you watch Jungkook look at you with expectant eyes, you feel tongue-tied for the very first time in… ever.
“I don’t mind not getting a reply, because I know you like me too, Noonim.” He replies, when there’s no reply from your side. His ears have gone so red that even when Jungkook gets up from on top of you and walks towards the computer chair he still has a hand covering the bottom half of his face in embarrassment.
You feel like you snap out of your daze when you sit up, wondering just how far things would have gone between you and Jungkook if he didn’t get up himself and you had let him go on with whatever it was in his head that was now making the male flush red, not daring to even look back to meet eyes with you.
You wouldn’t have stopped him since you’re such a horny b-
Minji really needs to shut up.
“Noonim, you’ll be going to Busan too on your library trip tomorrow, right?” Jungkook asks, out of the blue.
“We’re going to a lot of places. The seniors have requested a lot of paperbacks we don’t have, so we need to collect them from the other branches.” You say, standing up when you see Jungkook doing the same and making his way out of the room. You wonder if Jungkook is upset about earlier, but he has a smile on his face as he heads out to where his bike is parked outside the building.
“You’ll need to get enough sleep if you have to wake up early to head out, [Name]-noonim!” Jungkook has to say, patting on the back seat of his bike. “I’ll take you home!”
The home date that Jungkook has been gushing over so much feels like it got cut off so abruptly, and you feel so guilty thinking it is your fault, while you hold on to him as you cycle back home without much to say.
You still make sure to give Jungkook a kiss on his cheek, his face flushing red when you lean back and give him a wave.
“Let’s go to the beach when you come back, Noonim! Also, if you get the time, you should drop by my Dad’s restaurant for a meal!”
You give him a thumbs up, letting him know that you definitely will, and watch as he gets on his bike and cycles off.
Why does it feel like something between us got cut off just now? Jungkook was smiling, but he has never been the one to end the date, it’s always been me…
So, what gives?
---
“Kim [Name]. Do you have a moment to spare?” Namjoon asks the next day, standing by the doorway of your room.
“Come on in, Joonie. What’s up?” You ask while you fold up some clothes to take for your weekend trip… Even though calling it a trip doesn’t feel right since it’s something you and Taehyung are doing for extra-credit, not for fun.
Maybe if this trip was with Jungkook, it would be a fun trip-
You shake your head to take away Minji’s - your subconscious self’s- mind away from the gutter for one god-forsaken minute.
“I have to catch a bus in a few minutes, so I don’t have a lot of time to wait to chat… I should have talked about this earlier but..”
You look up from your duffel bag, suddenly getting a little worried why Namjoon sounded so serious out of nowhere.
“Joonie, you sound a bit scary right now. What’s going on?” You ask, furrowing your eyebrows.
Namjoon laughs, closing the door behind him and taking a seat on your bed. “It’s not something like that, don’t worry. I just wanted to talk to you before you left on a trip with Taehyungie.” He explains. You nod, motioning for him to go on.
“I know you’ve started something with Kookie and everything, but… And it’s not that I’m against it, since you’re an adult and everything.. But it’s just that sometimes, I think you and Taehyung have this bond that just crosses over to a line a little more than just friends.”
Your lips part open at his sudden words, and Namjoon looks like he does not plan to stop talking any time soon.
“It may be just me - but I highly doubt this. You two have this bond that makes me feel like you’re soulmates, and I don’t know but… I think you’re very very cautious in front of Jungkook which I never see you behave like in front of Taehyung. You two have this behavior of taking care of each other, and I sometimes notice it in the way you two look at each other… It’s like the way Jungkook looks at you, but the way you look at him isn’t the same.”
“Joon-”
“And I don’t know if it’s just things I’ve picked up or am looking into too much because I’m taking my philosophy and psychology lessons way too seriously, but as someone who has seen you from the day you were born up until now… That’s how I feel.”
You take a deep sigh as you process his words, picking up a sweater and stuffing it into the bag.
“I’m not telling you to act on it, I’m only saying that it’s something that crossed my mind and I wondered if you were able to notice it or you just stayed and smiled your way through and let things flow the way it just goes on without taking a proper decision on your part.”
“Joonie, you’ve made my trip with Taehyung turn so weird.” You say. You don’t think you can admit it to Namjoon, that it wasn’t just him, that you always felt an odd feeling when it was around Taehyung. You had, though, never considered that those feeling and him staying in your head about every little thing could be because you had actual feelings for Taehyung… It sounds almost impossible in your head, if anything.
And you had a boyfriend, an adorable one, at that!
“I’m sorry. But I just wanted to say something so you can be cautious… And not hurt Taehyung’s feelings if something ever happened.” Namjoon stands up, kissing your forehead and patting your hair a little before he gives you a wave.
“Wait, what do you mean-”
“Oh, by the way, Taehyung’s already downstairs waiting for you, so hurry up, okay? Have a good trip, [Name]-ah!” He says quickly before he makes his exit right away.
Ugh… Now you knew you would think about Namjoon’s words the entire trip. Great.
---
“So, will today be a random mix on Spotify kind of day, or may I give you the honor of listening to my amateur instrumentals playlist?” Taehyung greets, as soon as you two climb onto Namjoon’s car to set out for the library expedition.
You’ve packed some kimbap rolls and juice to have on the way to Busan which will be your first stop, and the bags of clothes you two have packed and stuffed at the back of the car for a simple two-day trip is no joke. But then again, getting to travel to multiple cities during college days in difficult after all, and you were determined to take pictures and pretend you’d gone on multiple trips and not just one, thanks to this opportunity.
Maybe that would help take away your mind from all the stuff Namjoon said earlier.
Dammit, Kim Namjoon.
“Show me what you’ve got.” You say, and watch while Taehyung flashes a beautiful smile at you and connects his phone to the speaker system of the car.
“These ones have some mad-crazy piano work, I learned some thanks to Yoongi-hyung.” He starts, the first few chords of the instrumental making you look up at Taehyung in awe.
The music is so mellow and soft that you can’t help but ask him a question that always comes to your head whenever you hear what he works on.
“Taehyung-ah… Have you ever had your heart broken?”
The sudden question makes him look away from the road and at you, blinking a couple times before he lowers the volume of the music.
“Why… Why do you ask?”
“Your music always has some kind of nostalgic, melancholic essence to it.” You reply, watching the way his eyes go back to the road. “It’s like you’ve gone through some form of grief or heartbreak, always.”
“I’ll be kind enough to open a literary discussion with you today, [Name]-ah.” Taehyung says. “When do you think is the best time for someone to be heart-broken, if they had to?”
“That’s an odd question. I don’t think there’s any time someone would want to be heart-broken.” You respond, realizing Taehyung has smartly decided to change the focus of the topic from himself. Perhaps he didn’t want to answer your question for some reason and you could understand him, to some extent.
“I think it’s so much better to have your heart broken when you’re younger, instead of having it broken at an older age, you know?”
You take a moment to ponder about his statement, then nod.
“I mean… Think about it. I’d rather have met someone horrible when I’m fifteen, instead of having the same thing happen when I’m like, twenty-five.” Taehyung goes on.
“Because when I’m fifteen, there’s so much more of my life ahead of me. I’d meet more people. I’d learn to be cautious about the people around me. I’d know how to mold myself to be a better person. That won’t happen if I don’t get my heartbroken before twenty-five when all my values are built up. It would be a shock to me, and that would simply make me lose all faith in humanity.”
The respect you have for Taehyung grows a little, his voice also causing your heart to ache a little. It’s something new you feel, and Namjoon’s words float around in your mind a little, making you look away from Taehyung and out from the window.
“Because the more time flows… The deeper it gets.” You mumble.
“Exactly.”
---
The book collection goes well, the first stop being Gwangju. You two had to hurry, though, and were barely able to reach Daegu before night fell.
Taehyung had explained that, since the libraries would be closed by now, it would be best to head there first thing next morning and to go over to his house and get some sleep.
Taehyung’s parents are home, and his mother is a spitting image of Taehyung himself, bright and sunny and welcoming you and making sure you ate a lot and had everything you needed as she lead you to one of Taehyung’s sibling’s rooms.
“My sister is at college,” he explains, watching you put your duffel bag down on the floor and giving him a nod. “We-”
Taehyung gets interrupted by your phone ringing, and you see that it is Jungkook calling.
“Hello?”
“Noonim, hi! What will you be at tomorrow evening?” Jungkook wants to know.
“I’ll be at Busan, Jungkookie. What’s wrong?”
“Great! Can you spare me around 2 hours near sunset? There’s this beach I really want to take you to, at Busan, I used to go there all the time when I was little!”
The excitement in Jungkook’s voice is contagious. You glance at Taehyung who had walked over to look at one of the posters on the wall.
“Taehyung-ah. Jungkook wants me to spare 2 hours tomorrow in the evening. We’ll be done at Busan by then, right?”
Taehyung raises an eyebrow, taking a moment before he slowly nods and then turns back to face the poster.
“We could do that, yeah.”
“Great! See you then, Noonim!”
After you hang up the phone, Taehyung puts his hands in his jeans pockets, heading towards the door.
“The switch to the heater can be a little confusing but the button is at the back and you have to manually set it, but I think you can get the hang of it,” He says, “If you need anything, give me a call. Make sure you lock the door before you sleep.”
Before you can wish him a good night, Taehyung closes the door of the room, making you sigh.
You could almost hear Namjoon trying to come up with a new theory, and to be honest, you can’t even blame him because, as you lay on the bed and tried to go to sleep, your mind would not let you forget about Taehyung for a single second.
Damn it again, Kim Namjoon.
---
Taehyung is noticeably quieter than he was the previous day, only speaking when it was time to decide what to eat, and asking you to help him with organizing the books. The hours till evening time passed by slowly because of this, so you’re actually glad when Jungkook texts you an address.
Taehyung drives you to the beach, letting you know he’ll be around and will come back in exactly two hours to pick you up to drive back to Seoul.
Jungkook is dressed in a white t-shirt and blue skinny jeans - boldly remaining you of you two’s very first date dressed exactly alike.
“Kookie, what are you doing here?”
“Well, I told my mom you were coming here for a trip and stuff and she asked me to come for the weekend too!” He says cheerfully, taking your hand and helping you walk through the rough rocky trail leading down to the sandy beach.
Despite your mind screaming out a loud ‘Holy SHIT Jungkook talks to his mom about meeeeeeee!’, the water is so, so blue and the clouds are splattered in multiple hues of reds and oranges. The entire scene is so beautiful and peaceful that you can only stare in awe, taking your shoes off and grabbing them by hand while you walk closer towards the ocean.
“Let’s sit here.” Jungkook suggests a spot, and the two of you sit down, watching waves crashing and producing such beautiful sounds.
“This is healing for my soul.”
“Right?”
“Did you ask me to come over here for a reason, Jungoo?” You ask, glancing at Jungkook who has his shoes placed right beside yours. He has a little smile on his face while he nods, not looking at you and instead making little circles with his fingers.
“Jungkook?”
“[Name]-noona.” He says softly, finally looking up into your eyes.
“Noonim. Please let me break up with you, here.”

Thanks Silver!
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
43! Though a bunch are oneshot collections, and one is an anon fic.
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
484,235! Whew!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Legend of Zelda and linkeduniverse mostly these days.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Brethren in a cradle by far my most popular fic. Which still totally blows me away. How are there 952 kudos? On my fic that started as just a self-indulgent daydream?? Thank you so much guys???
Because they aren’t suffering enough in canon (linkeduniverse whumptober 2022) I’m surprised this is second, but I guess I shouldn’t be shocked, you people love whump XD
Accidental domestication which is mostly silly lu fics about wolves that ended up being multiple chapters and rather long. I still love the concept for all of these.
Troubled waters which was my first mermaid Legend fic and I could write wayyyy better now, but I’m pretty proud of it still. And wow I did not realize it was this popular XD
Always darkest before the dawn (linkeduniverse whumptober 2023) HOW DID THIS GET SO MANY KUDOS SO FAST these are only from November?? Wow.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! Unfortunately I tend to forget to actually do it, but I love answering them and talking to people. I love seeing what people think of my fics :D
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Mm. That’s hard to say. Probably something whumptober-y..? I’m not thinking of anything particular, I tend to try for a hopeful ending mostly.
Oh... well the one anon fic I have had a SUPER angsty ending, but the second chapter is a little more hopeful. It’s still very angsty though.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably the skyward sword oneshot in courses of love. It’s so fluffy. So. fluffy.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not unless you count rude spam bots!
9. Do you write smut?
No.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Not really, no. Unless you count lu, and a few wips I have where I mix OCs around.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope! Though if it counts, there might be a podfic in progress for one of them :)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not exactly? I throw ideas around with people, Tellie especially, and we help each other out with stuff, but I don’t have anything that’s truly co-written I think.
14. What’s you’re all-time favorite ship?
Oh zelink, no question.
15. What’s the wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don’t ever totally give up on wips, but there are a few I... do wonder if I’m ever actually going to finish. Mostly my longfics, they’re intimidating and then I scare myself out of working on them :(
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue? I’ve been told my dialogue is pretty solid.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oof, descriptions. And making sure I’m taking the time to show what a character is thinking, and TRANSITION SCEEEENES AUGH
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
That would be fun! I have an oc who speaks a little bit of another language, but I haven’t written much with him unfortunately.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Ninjago! Well first published anyway. I scribbled some warrior cats fanfic when I was younger, but there’s only a page or two of that. Ninjago was the first fandom I actually posted fic for.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
I gotta pick??? Good grief... some of those whumptobers... Stubborn... under the weather... hmmm “hero what ails you?” maybe? It actually got banned from ao3 for a bit you all should read it now that it’s back 👍
No pressure tags for: @adrift-in-thyme @telemna-hyelle @wolfwarden @only-lonely-stars @nancyheart11 @ anyone who would like to!
20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @the-real-azalea-scroggs! Had to wait until I was of my phone because doing these is a nightmare on mobile lmao
1. How many works do you have on A03?
18 as of a few days ago!
2. What's your total A03 word count?
60,763! Which is. Only a fraction of the word count in my Docs folder. Be prepared.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I mainly write for The Legend of Zelda; specifically Linked Universe! In fact, that's all that's posted on my Ao3 currently, since my fall into that fandom began with me uploading there! Pre-Ao3 I wrote for Black Cat (Anime/Manga), Megaman NT Warrior, various Pokémon things, Assassin's Creed, Yugioh, Final Fantasy XIV and Octopath Traveler! Some of these I still write privately, but I haven't gotten around to re-posting any.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Whistling on Deaf Ears - My longest fic on Ao3, focusing on Wild and Twilight's friendship and how good intentions can lead to disaster.
Iconoclasm - Warriors deals with the room full of portraits in Cia's palace. The Chain also deals with it, but with a bit more fire.
Deserving - Twilight finally tells Rusl that he was the wolf in the village during TP, but that also means dealing with some heavier topics. Colin half overhears them and forms his own conclusions.
Something Greater - The start of the "Hyrule can see magical auras" series! In this one we deal with Legend and his many rings.
Ocean Magic - Mermaid Legend and Zora Time have a race and then fight one of the Big Octos from WW! Fun times.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Every single one!! I love comments, they give me an excuse to ramble about my fic more!! I am always down to ramble about every single insignificant detail of any line and/or section. If you ever want more background info about one of my fics, look to the comments! So please, I adore comments, I treat them like treasures, not responding to them would be a CRIME.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
There's no contest; Inevitable, my (so far) only MCD fic.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hmmm, that's hard to quantify. I usually try to end fics on a hopeful note regardless. I'd say possibly either Deserving, where Twilight reconnects with his family, or Shimmering Blue, Striking White, where Time meets the Fierce Deity settled down on Satori Mountain and they both get closure.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully, no! I've been blessed with mostly amazing and patient readers, even when my upload schedule isn't the best.
9. Do you write smut?
No, not really. I've attempted it, but I'm too asexual for it lol
10. Do you write crossovers?
Very, very rarely. Mostly privately, and only very specific ones. Only a single one has had an actual plot, so far (more on that one in question 15!).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also a nope! I tend to write for smaller fandoms, where these things don't tend to happen a lot!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have! But it's been a while. Over a decade, in fact! I tried to find the fic to link it here, but it was on the German fanfic website fanfiktion.de, and my friend who posted it back then must have deactivated her account, because it's nowhere to be seen (I still have the Word file though!). It was a Multi-Crossover that started as an RP in a forum, and we took turns turning the RP into prose one chapter each. "If a Hero Turns to Dark" was its title. We were edgy teenagers.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Hissssss. Bad question. Shoo. They are all equally important!! But it's probably TenRose from Doctor Who.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
One of the very few crossovers I've ever worked on; a crossover fic between Assassin's Creed and Doctor Who, that I have mapped out in both chronological and timeline order, and yes, those are different. I only ever wrote about a quarter of it, since my primary audience of it disappeared when we graduated. I doubt I'll ever pick it back up properly, and if I do it'll probably go through heavy rewrites first since it's so old. Finishing it is a nice thought, but realistically, after 9 years it'll never be high priority enough for it to actually happen.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, especially arguments, and emotional impact. I've been told I do really well making characters feel alive and believable! Also I like to believe I'm decent at setting a scene and giving it the vibe I want it to have!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I struggle with dialogue tags when nothing much is happening besides the talking. I always feel it's too bland, and fall back on the same phrases. My scene transitions could use some work too.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've done this with Japanese phrases, because I was a massive weeb. Usually I followed them up with their own translations, though; I'm not the biggest fan of footnote translations, unless they are properly linked to. Simple dialogue tags are my favourite way of indicating a language switch.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Black Cat the Manga/Anime! It's a series about an assassin turned bounty hunter trying to live a life separate from his murdery past, but getting dragged back into things by still wanting to avenge his best friend's death. The series has a special place in my heart and my bookshelf, it left an imprint on 13-year-old me that will never leave.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Probably Jailbreak, uncharacteristically enough! It's one of the only fics I never got stuck in once. Writing it was a great feeling from start to finish. I love writing all of my fics, but that was a special few days.
Tagging @ahrva @nowhere-to-go-but-down @silvercaptain24 and @aeghina! And anyone who wants to do it, really, go wild

(star emoji) for Grifting With The Enemy :D
Pumpkin!! 🧡🧡🧡 Hello, my dear friend, thank you so much for your endless interest & support!! 😍😍 And for giving me a reason to re-read GWTE, which I haven't done for a loooong time!! 😂😬 (But, the good news is, it low-key got me inspired to hurry up & finish it!! 😏) BUT - in the meantime - here's some BTS info from my re-read under the cut, which is a lot - fair warning - since it's a 4 chapter fic & counting!! ❤️
LOL I forgot how stressful it is coming up with names for random extra people in fics, I hate doing that LOL But I did think it was important to open with Red NOT being a merciless crime lord who kills anyone who displeases him, cause - while he does have that side to him when necessary - that's not who Red is or wants to be.
I liked including that little moment with Red & Dembe about the parallel parking. I love those father/son & brotp moments for them, they're just the best. I tried to sprinkle those in wherever I could in Red's POV in this fic.
I loved the mental picture of Liz - with glasses & beanie a la The Harem - just leaning casually against a bookshelf the first time Red sees her... & he's immediately captivated, just like in canon. Especially with her eyes, I can't NOT write any version of Red that is not completely blown away by Liz's eyes, I mean, come on I also thought it was important that he thinks she's much younger than she is (intentionally part of her persona) & I'm looking forward to writing the reveal of her true age in a later chapter.
I loved writing a Liz that instantly challenges Red, already having heard about him (& more than that, as revealed in chapter 2) & point blank telling him she may refuse the job bc she has a say too. I liked keeping - & even amplifying a little - that dynamic from canon!Liz of always surprising Red & keeping him on his toes, all while he's trying so desperately to stay ahead of her & impress her.
I LOVED writing the brush pass scene - that moment where Red realizes he has officially underestimated her - & LOL I completely forgot I wrote that part about the condom LMFAO wow past!Coda, mighty daring of you 😂😂😂
Plus, I couldn't help the bonus bit about her stealing his phone & tossing it to him to end the chapter, that was just so fun to throw in there!!
I liked opening chapter 2 with Red still thinking about Liz, just to show how she captured his attention, even before he finds out she's been stealing from him. And I liked writing that revelation without any anger on his part, with him understanding it wasn't a full-scale attack on his empire, she's just a thief taking well paying jobs where she can get them, & instead it just shows him how talented she is. I thought that was an important thing to clarify before moving forward.
I LOVED writing Red & Dembe surprising Liz in her apartment, especially the part with Red's snooping & being confused & surprised by what he sees there. I loved kind of creating/designing Liz's apartment to showcase her true self, not her "young thief" persona that Red falls for at first. I wanted it to be clear that Red is fascinated by her seeming duality from the start (canon LOL) as well as just straight-up attracted to her (also canon LMAO).
Also I gave Liz a loft apartment cause I've always loved those!!
And I LOVEDDD writing Red super confident about surprising her & looking forward to taking her off guard by settling in on the couch & all that macho man stuff, only to be rendered fucking dumbstruck when she comes downstairs with no pants on lmfao & I included that little detail of her usually wearing a knife on her leg to show she's not to be underestimated 😏 & I couldn't help but throw in there Dembe kicking the back of the couch, that made me cackle lmfao
I think the truce was important to establish asap bc I didn't want any secrets or lingering animosity between them. That's for canon 😒 Only flirting & sexual tension here, thank you very much.
I had to include Red being a gentleman & asking if she wanted to get dressed, but I also couldn't resist Liz being confident & careless about it, while still hiding tactfully behind the counter. I thought that was a cute exchange.
lmfao of course, I included their coffee preferences being noticed by the other, I think that's an obligatory thing in any Lizzington fic ever, I'm so guilty of that lmfao
I loved the idea of Red being ready to start on a classic Red's Blacklister Presentation but Liz once again stops him in his tracks (while still secretly being impressed by his presence, of course, & I even accidentally switched POVs for no reason to include that?? nice Coda lmfao) as well as trading barbs & quips with him while Red feels awful & guilty at any accidental slights bc he can't bear to insult her.
AM&R vs. AR&M whoops typo lol
I liked the little snippet of dark!Red we see in their conversation of consequences for his enemies, that way Liz sees a little bit of what he's capable of & Red sees how she's not phased by it.
And that last little flirtation & wink to finish the chapter - lol can't resist
Ooooh, I loved switching to Liz's POV (fully ha) for chapter 3, I enjoyed describing how head over heels she is for Red already, that was fun. I liked writing about her lil movie day & chores she's completed, as well as fleshing out her AU past a little with Sam & her young grifting experiences. And her burning her popcorn while daydreaming about Red cause... same 😏
Ooooh, phone conversations are always so fun to write between them, I love trying to get that perfect mix of joking & sincerity & flirting & pining & pressing the phone close to their ear.
I thought it was important to keep (or rather re-invent, since TPTB seemed to drop it like a hot potato 😒😒😒) Liz's intense interest & respect for psychology, especially as a reason for being attracted to Red, since it kind of mirrors one facet of his interest in her. Not to mention Red thinks at first that it's just a useless, do nothing degree for her LOL
Ohhh, I loved establishing that mutual respect & friendliness between Liz & Dembe early on, that's such a fave of mine, I've always loved their friendship & thought it had a lot of potential. Liz loves & respects Dembe for keeping Red safe & Dembe loves & respects Liz for being so dear to Red.
Ugh, I LOVED writing Liz so completely disarmed by Red's relative state of undress at his safe house (paralleling her pants-less parade in chapter 2, of course) bc sameeeeeeee girl.
I also had fun writing Red blabbing on about some story as he often does, meanwhile Liz has already picked the lock on the safe, once again impressing & surprising him while she admires his different passport pics. That was so fun.
And I loved the quick shift to just a little animosity between them with Red insulting her lockpicks & Liz flaunting her thefts from him. I think those little spats give a little electricity & tension to the relationship, even if they blown over quickly, which they always do. And the fact that Red apologizes & they shake hands & make up is very refreshing to me (since they never fucking do it in canon lol fml) & also it's an excuse to write a little teasing physical contact & sexual tension 😁😁😁
And damn, I forgot how fun it is to throw a little teasing jab in there at the end of a chapter, just for fun - probably bc I'm allergic to multi-chapter fics & never write them lmfao wow
Ahhhhhhhh. I remember how much fun I had writing this whole restaurant scene, partly bc it was a difficult & long process (trying not to make all the flirting & physical movements repetitive while fitting in all the necessary dialogue in a semi-non-boring way lol) but also bc it was so fun writing their back-and-forth while seated at a table alone with nowhere else to go & nothing to distract them. I also wanted to take the opportunity to show Red's genuine interest in her as a person & let them spend some quality time together for the first time. I loved the idea of them losing track of time & Dembe having to come interrupt them with a knowing smirk. Also I def referred to the Olive Garden website for the food they ate cause I'm lame lmfaooo
I thought it was cute to throw in that Liz almost couldn't find Red when she arrived but for the fedora marker he placed out for her & then when she's leaving, she can feel his gaze on her the whole way out. Little parallels like that are my guilty pleasure 😁
Omggg I forgot about the end of this chapter, I remember I wanted Red to surprise Liz yet again & I thought the dessert snuck into her bag was a cute touch. Plus, tiramisu is a favorite of mine 😋 I also tried to make the vibe of this phone call a little softer & more tentative, not so much on tender hooks with lots of tension as the previous ones have been, showing how they're getting used to each other & falling in love at a break neck pace lol
Welp, that's all 4 chapters that are posted buttttttttt a sneaky look at my document that I haven't opened for an embarrassingly long timeeeeeee shows my sketch for the rest of the fic which revealssssss....... a detailed 10 chapter map with an epilogue!! Wow, I forgot I sketched everything out in such detail, this isn't too bad, maybe I should actually write this 😂😂😂 And I promise I will, hopefully sooner rather than later!! ❤️❤️❤️
Well, there you go, Pumpkin, I hope that didn't take you too long to slog through & there was something enjoyable in there for you!! 😂 Thank you so much for your interest again, my lovely friend, & getting me excited about this fic again!! 🥰 Much love to you, always, Pumpkin!! 🧡

Posting a way more in-depth description of my alters than any of you want or need because why not
Keiko: friendliest, nicest, cutest, acts the youngest. Used to front a lot when we were hanging out with friends. Still essentially like the rest of us in that she has the same personality disorders (pointing this out because you wouldn’t guess she has ASPD but we all do. No, none of us are “more of a psychopath” or evil vs good or whatever compared to one another). She just seems more able to feel/express the positive spectrum of emotions, she hasn’t repressed it or detached herself from it as much. She/her pronouns. Aroace. Current fave thing: either MLP or stimboards
Miyuki: calm, collected, responsible, acts like a gatekeeper of the system a lot as in she’s the only one we can actually trust to moderate the rules objectively. Also has pulled people out or put people in control before. Less “control panel” access than say Jokul or I though, but probably only due to lack of practice. THE most sane one (idk how that works either) and the one with the least emotional turmoil. Used to wonder if 1. She was capable of caring about people and 2. If she actually felt any emotions at all. The answer is yes she does, she just Bottles Them Up Completely. We are taking it in faith that she feels stuff because the body cried once while she was in control. Pronouns: she/her. Sexuality: ???? when it comes to romance, but definitely ace. Current fave thing: tea, specifically a nice warming oolong like Da Hong Pao.
Yahto: (me!) people are suggesting ways to describe me and it is mean. For most of my knowledge of my own existence as a separate alter, I’ve kind of assigned myself the role of protector. I was very functional as well! Confident (bordering on insufferably arrogant), and with the level of detachment from my emotions I had at the time as well as my complete lack of fear, perfectly suited to deal with a wide variety of situations. Only if we were okay with other people thinking we’re weird because I used to have a worse filter than I have now. I experienced fear for the first time 3.5 years ago right alongside the strongest emotions I’ve ever felt and my mental health has been spiraling downwards ever since :) Also I am literally the most stubborn person you will ever meet. He/him pronouns. Anything having to do with orientation is a big question mark right now, I just know I’m probably not interested in men. I HAVE dated women but tbh I’m no longer sure if I’m even interested in them. Current fave thing: yahto.exe stopped working 38 hours of being awake ago. Uh,,,,idk sorry How about reading fzanfic to pass the time fnafic fanfic
Jezebeth (Jez): (headspace bestie! Great at writing horror poems!) Does Not Care About People but also surprisingly extremely chill. When she’s enthusiastic about something, she’s REALLY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT IT but otherwise mostly just stays quiet and has a nice time Observing. People either find her really fun to be around or creepy. No in between. She went through a phase where she thought it was funny to creep people out by saying really messed up things so that probably didn’t help. Actually, DURING said phase, she single-handedly made and maintained the best in-school friendship we ever had for 4 years. Literally none of us talked to her except for Jez. She just had endless “creepy” conversation topics and Robin thought it was *amazing. * She/her pronouns, I have no idea sexuality wise simply because she does not talk about that kind of thing. Current fave thing: inking pens :)
Jokul: (sworn enemy, tried to kill myself once to take him down with us) Perfectly reasonable person realistically. Nothing particularly wrong with him. I just Do Not Like Him. Especially since for as long as I can remember, we’ve made it a game to torment each other. You see, we both hate boredom more than anything else, or at least we did when we were even younger and more naive and we’re not actually malicious, and yet foolishly prided ourselves on not being nice and also our ability to manipulate people. No, little kid me was probably not actually an expert on manipulation, we just thought we were at the time. This all resulted in us taking our boredom, pent up malice, and desire to prove we were better than one another on each other. Such a great idea (sarcastic). We did in fact get better at emotionally wounding people after years of practice, and predictably (if we had any foresight on this matter at all) it backfired! I did in fact turn this skill against the one person I cared about in an effort to push them away during one of my breakdowns and it resulted in 6 suicide attempts, not including my own. Jokul has been trying to manipulate me positively since (both of us have been ordered to be nice to each other by Miyuki because we were causing too many problems) and it has Not Worked. If he was a separate person, I would skin him. The only person I’ve hated so much. We’ve been on relatively good terms lately. Been capable of having casual conversations. Things are okay, I guess. His personality is entirely fake, so I don’t know how to describe it except for how he acts when we’re trying to hurt each other, which might be him dropping his mask or it might be a whole different act just for that. Pronouns: He/him. Sexuality: He can change it at will? I think default is aroace though? Current fave thing: *Jokul imitation* “My purple silk dress I wear when I’m meeting people and am desperate for them to worship my beauty. I look so irresistibly elegant in it, it makes everyone like me automatically.” His actual answer is Death Note (cringe) (I’ve been yelled at for calling Death Note cringe)
Gracelynn: (headspace ex-bestie) Everyone thinks she’s the nicest person ever and super loyal and so on. She is to other people but apparently not to me anymore. Still finds it difficult to empathize with people and care about them, but apparently decided to be nice anyways. Like she doesn’t get the fuss about friends but she’s here for them anyways. Spends as much time daydreaming as possible these days, used to front A TON a few years ago. Extremely shy and full of social anxiety and anxiety in general. Goes nonverbal in a plethora of social situations. Freakishly good memory. Has way less memory gaps than I do and I have no idea why. She/her pronouns, probably aroace Current fave thing: brace yourself for no surprises, a tie between horseback riding and the Chronicles of Amber.
Ryo: (the alter of many names: Ryo, Rachel, Ry, Rei, R) The newest. Noticed a new voice and behavior that did not match any of ours a while after the events of 3.5 years ago. Might be coincidence, might not be, I don’t care. Kind of down to earth and practical and normal compared to the rest of us. Despite him being here for years now I don’t know that much about him partially because I don’t care and haven’t been paying attention, and partially because system communication hasn’t been that great (I’ve also been getting way more memory gaps! Whole days lost! Isn’t that great? (sarcastic)). Pronouns: varies, any are fine. (Despite us, in general, identifying as gender fluid so we don’t have to explain, Ryo is the only ACTUALLY gender fluid alter in our system) Aroace. Current fave thing: He said sleep, he wants us to go to sleep. (refuses to answer the fun question genuinely) Well Ryo, you have just failed my vibe check. Your reward is uh,,,AT LEAST 13 more hours of being awake. Yayyy
(I did colors here but the all green theme will stay in other posts <3 Really if I had to describe our auras it would be different shades of blue anyways.)
#if you actually read all this thank you and why#alters#system#headspace#DID#headmates#dissociative identity disorder#hal rambles#mental illness#long post

Unpopular Opinion: Johnlock edition
So, I am, as invariably suggested by my blog and username, a major Sherlock fan. I absolutely love it. The first time I watched it, I immediately related to it, and my peabag brain instantly saw a friend in John Watson. Sherlock’s character, on the other hand, was quite unconventional to me. I couldn’t bring myself to quite like him for the first 2 episodes. He was.....different. I knew I wanted to watch the series just for the dynamic duo and their and sweet friendship. The cases I couldn’t at first care for much, but eventually that changed too. I always was completely amazed by how well they had managed to adapt the series to the 21st century and their subtle winks to the original canon too was quite impressive. Eventually, I fell in love with it, and proceeded to watch the entire series thrice. in a row. I was, and still am, completely obsessed.
Then came the thought, which was also somehow initially suggested subtly by the show itself, ” What if Sherlock and John are in Love?” I must agree, I had read too many conspiracy theories about certain celebs being closeted to not come up with that question.
At first it was just a thought. But then, critical analyses on tumblr came up. I couldn’t stop reading them?! and so many of them were thought-provoking and persuasive and honestly, I was living for it. The phone = heart theory is still one of the best Theories I’ve read among all the fandoms I’ve ever been in. And that is just one among many. JohnLock was everywhere. Other ships were persistent, but none could reach the amount of fervor as JohnLock. And I was living for it too. I still really enjoy all the adorable fanfics and the ever-interesting theories, and honestly, at this point, my motto is “I’ll find homoerotic subtext even if it kills me”.
Shipping is ok, shipping is good. But here’s the deal we need to talk about: we shouldn’t justify our ships to the point of interpreting every action as romantic. This propagates unrealistic expectations and results in harmful stereotypes.
Yes, I’m talking about the unending debate on Johnlock.
From season one itself, Johnlock was phenomenal. It is widely argued that the show-runners themselves inserted subtle hints, and hence, birthed this beast on their own. The Sherlock fandom remains one of the oldest fandoms in the world, with its beginnings rooted in the Nineteenth Century when ASiS was published, and since then many have argued about the latent homosexual subtext embedded into the writing, my point here being people have been shipping Johnlock for well over a hundred years. Hence, It’s not really a surprise that people are still drawn to this ship. But to be shipped by this magnitude of people? This invariably suggests that there’s material provided to us by the creators themselves that is very blatantly obvious about the relationship. And while in most cases shipping two characters is completely okay in itself, according to me, shipping Johnlock has further validation in the fact that there is proof of intent of it becoming canon eventually (at least in the first two seasons).
Like I said before, shipping is OK, shipping is good.
But is shipping okay if we take it to the point of over-analysing every move?
Sherlock is a comfort character for me. God knows half of my maladaptive daydreams are about him being a father figure towards me. My entire twitter tl and Tumblr dashboard is stuffed with cutesy or angsty things about him, and that’s great! But being in the fandom for about eight months, I’ve realised how this sort of feed eventually resulted in me completely forgetting the original storyline, and more importantly, in me forgetting how flawed a character Sherlock is!
Everyone(including me, the first time) freaks out in HLV because of how Sherlock isn’t listed as John’s pressure point. I, however, think we should question ourselves: Why should John still consider Sherlock that tantalizingly close to himself as he was in the beginning? John learnt his best friend had died, and he decided to do the bravest thing he could: make peace with it and move on. BUT NO! The Ghost of the man who loved him returned from the grave to haunt him! Here I talk about the other possible reasons why Sherlock wasn’t a pressure point for John in HLV.
I am tired of this constant sugarcoating of Sherlock’s character. I am tired of seeing constant posts about how Sweet and caring Sherlock is and how much he loves John and how he loved her more than Mary. I am done with over analysis of every single shot where Sherlock looks at John, completely done. This shot below? It’s been overused for so many fanfics and cheesy romantic lines that I forgot that it’s supposed to be a look of GUILT.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love sherlock so dearly because he’s a very unlikeable character. That is precisely what sets him so far apart from the other characters. Sherlock started off with a hateful and dismissive character, but through the course of the events he undergoes a lot of emotional development. And that is truly noteworthy. In TFP he said for Mycroft, “ He did the best he could (for Eurus)...” and that is truly sentimental. This sort of development is always heartwarming.
What I want people to understand is that Analysis is, obviously, important. And CRITICAL ANALYSIS more so. And it’s saddening to see so many people glossing over the critical part of the analysis. Why is it so wrong to point out HOW HURTFUL SHERLOCK’S ACTIONS TOWARDS JOHN HAVE BEEN? Why is it wrong to to point out Johnlockers borderline bully other shippers?
Can we finally talk about the problematic aspects of Johnlock, or rather Johnlockers?
Even though I’m relatively new to the fandom, I’ve noticed how dismissive people are of anything negative said about Sherlock. In the beginning, it was endearing, really; but now I see this pattern of constantly singing praises of Sherlock’s character, and it has lead me to realize how detrimental it can be to the relatively younger audiences. Sherlock is Rude, period. There’s no question about it. And this constant glorifying of his rudeness and arrogance and dismissing it as a quirk could very well possibly give the impression that arrogance and vanity are in fact not so bad, and hell, it might make one seem a little cooler even ! Oh, don’t be mad if I act like my comfort character ! I’m quirky like that !
Constant bashing of the creators. And when I say constant, I mean it. This sort of bashing about is never-ending. And when I say this, I don’t mean that the creators were perfect; some of their mistakes were, quite frankly, blatantly ignorant ( like Irene the Canon Lesbian falling for Sherlock), but I don’t see enough people praising it for what it is. Even now there is so much slander against the creators ( and personally I feel bad for Mark Gatiss because he’s actually on twitter and is constantly spammed). Is it really a surprise that the creators hate the fans and especially the Johnlockers? Was it supposed to be so shocking when Martin said that being in the show wasn’t very fun anymore because of the fans?
We just don’t actually analyze anymore! I get that we haven’t got any new content for FOUR muheffing years but please I literally don’t see anything that’s actually interesting or analytical anymore and that kills me because that was the reason I joined this fandom- to read and comprehend the subtext, and the AMAZING META! All I see are cute couple-ish pics of ben and Martin and tbh we can do so much better than that?!
Johnlockers have so much actual stuff to talk about? There is literally so much going on Subtextually, and yet all I see is people losing their mind over any interaction between Sherlock and John. This is so unfair! AND it’s detrimental too! With people painting every interaction as romantic in nature, the younger teenagers in this fandom who might not have experienced Love or Attraction may glean unrealistic ideas about them! It is difficult as it is to navigate oneself through romantic entanglements, let alone being fed such rose-colored ideas! And I say this because although I don’t know much about the audience on Tumblr, but Stan Twitter is like, (at least) 50 percent teenager-fuelled. It actually isn’t healthy for them at all.
Stop with the Benedict-worshipping for God’s sakes. Are you only in here because of him? We all get it, he’s absolutely stunning but come on, we’re here for the stories too right?
Romantic love is important, no doubt. But you know what’s completely overlooked? The platonic sort of love. And it’s tiring. Sherlock and Molly/Janine/Irene/John are all amazing duos and each pair has it’s own uniqueness and tang to it! Let’s not constantly dissect everything in the name of shipping, shall we?
lol looking back at it, I feel like it’s a vent rant for the prevailing circumstances on Stan Twitter. I apologize if anything I said hurt anyone, it wasn’t meant to. I completely understand that shipping people is for...recreation (?) but this was just my opinion. Let me know what you think about it!

The Duke - Chapter 5
I took a while to update, I thought about quitting sometimes, I won't lie, but, I started reading fanfics and books about Monarchy and regency era theme, and all my creativity came back.
Thank you as always, @theroomofreq who is very kind to me and helps me beta this story And to all my friends who need to listen to my crazy ideas
AO3 | FF.NET | SIYE (soon)
| G. W |
It was barely dawn when that newspaper fell on the Weasleys' door and the elf caught it. It was like every other day, well rolled, with the ink still fresh, full of gossip, important news, and political speculation, in addition to that malicious hint that they introduced in the news, to be just mean to some stupid Viscount that was stolen - and deserved it - or a newly decorated Marquis who married a woman who struck him - and who also deserved it.
It was just another normal day.
Or so it was meant to be.
As soon as Ginny came down to breakfast, she felt that something was different in the air, or maybe it was the fact that her brothers and mother were on top of her father to be able to read the newspaper page too.
‘’Good morning.’’ She called, but no one paid any attention to her. ‘’What’s so important? Did we find a gold mine?’’ Ginny stood next to Ron, needing to tiptoe to read the main and most eye-catching story on the front page of the newspaper.
'’The - yet - Duke and Duchess of Godric’s Hollow, James and Lily Potter, open the doors of their country house, for the first time in 20 years, for the fiftieth Dueling Party.
Check out more information, and the guest list so far, on page 13.’’
‘’Were we invited?’’ Ginny asked, wanting her father to leave that page right away where showed a picture of the couple in front of their huge country house, with the two of them not looking so happy to pose for the camera.
‘‘We were.’’ Ron confirmed, still looking at the newspaper. ‘’I think… Did Mr Potter go crazy?’’
‘’Ron! Don't say that!’’ Molly slapped his son on the arm, scolding him. ‘’Arthur dear, do you know why… this? Lily's authorizing something like this to happen?’’
''James had talked about applying some measures at Godric's Hollow and some changes but ... I didn't imagine he would host the Dueling Party ... I mean, they have a pretty big list of guests.'' Father said, still standing at same page of the newspaper.
‘’I heard they think they know where their son is.’’ Fred said, a little quietly, as if saying something terrible.
‘’Lily will die looking for that son.. I don’t blame her, of course, but… It’s been almost 24 years, how does she think she can find the boy? Only Merlin knows who took him, where they took him…’’ Her mother put her hand on her chest, facing Ginny. ‘’We need to find you with a new dress.’’
‘‘No mom, please.’’ Ginny denied, looking back at the newspaper. ‘’But what if he’s really alive? How will they find him? Is that why they’re having the party this year?’’
‘’James says the boy was born with a brand.’‘ The father clarified. ‘’But I don’t know if that’s why they decided-- ’’
‘‘-- I’m sorry.’’ Henry’s voice interrupted Arthur’s, and the man bowed to everyone in the room. ''Mr. Weasley, I think you would like to accompany me.'' The man did not look at Ginny, as if he was afraid to show too much, holding a torn piece of paper tightly and having his left forearm grated and dirty. Had he fallen?
'‘Of course, Mr Figg. Excuse me, love.’’ Arthur kissed his wife respectfully and then followed Henry out of the dining room. Ginny almost ran after them, knowing it seemed to have something to do with her, just from the way Henry avoided looking at her.
She hated it when they made her look like a damsel in distress who couldn't distinguish fire from ice.
''Ginny, we will see this afternoon about your dress, and Ron, we also need to decide on new clothes for you ...'' Her mother continued to talk about the duties they would have for the next few days, but all Ginny could pay attention to was in Henry walking away. His cloak was torn in the back and it looked like he had just arrived - which was strange, because he never left in the morning, always preferring to go out in the afternoon when Ginny was at tea time with her mother, or at night, at dinner time. Henry always said that in the morning, it was the time that crazy people wake up and make a mess.
He looked over his shoulder after her dad turned the corner of the hall and disappeared towards the office, but he also followed the path before Ginny was able to have any appropriate reaction.
After his intrusion, and the delay for her father to return, Ginny had to be taken care of by another Auror (she was told that Henry needed to go to his office), and nowhere was Thomas as gentle and nice to her as Henry was.
All morning, Ginny felt like she was being followed by a ghost, in silence for all the hours that passed, a little disconcerted that Thomas didn't like talking to her like Henry did - even though sometimes it was just yes and no - and when she had to leave the house to keep her mother company on the way to the center, Ginny was excited to at least hear different voices.
''Does Mrs. Potter know that I need to bring Mr. Figg?'' Ginny asked, looking at the windows they passed, daydreaming about those colorful and well-sewn dresses.
Even though her father was a Viscount, Arthur had been decorated one after the other 10 in front of him died, so there was not much inheritance for them to benefit from. They weren't really poor, Ginny could still choose a dress sewn by a top dressmaker on special occasions, but she knew that the family had far more limitations than other families who had a wardrobe all made just for them.
‘’I wouldn’t like you to bring him,’’ The mother started, raising her gloved hand as if she already knew that Ginny was going to interrupt her. "It's always quite threatening when he stays behind you wherever you go, and maybe that's what limits gentlemen to ask you out." The younger redhead bit her cheek, swallowing the urge to say what prevented men from getting close to her was that she was seen as crazy. ‘‘But your father would never let us leave the property without him following, so… Yes, Mrs. Potter already knows that Mr. Figg will be with you.’’
‘‘I thought they didn’t throw parties anymore.’’ She commented quietly, smiling at a lady who was looking at her a little terrified, pulling her little daughter aside when Ginny passed.
Ah, London hospitality, always so pleasant.
‘’We all thought so.’’ Molly spread the fan in her hands, fanning herself because of the heat that seemed to be almost deadly. ‘‘But it looks like Mrs. Potter is tired of leaving the doors closed.’’
‘’I don’t remember visiting their house.’’
‘’You first came right when you were born, we introduced you to them. We have a picture of you and little Harry in the crib.'' Her mother sighed, stopping in front of the shop for hats, gloves and other accessories (not as chic as the one on the top street where jewelry was sold) and smiled at Ginny . ‘’Let's go in, I want to see if we can find some hats for you. Maybe there is a suitor who captures your heart during the Dueling Party.’’
[...]
‘'The Dueling Party …’’ Ginny repeated, rereading the news for the tenth time. ‘’Do you know what they say about this party?’’ She asked, looking over her shoulder at Thomas, standing behind her, while she was dining alone.
He denied. Ginny snorted, annoyed by the silence.
‘’Do you know where Mr. Figg is?’’ It was a lot more fun to have dinner with his company.
‘’No, Miss.’’
‘’Do you know when he comes back?’’
‘‘No, Miss.’’ Ginny turned to the untouched plate in front of her. Her father had spent the day outside, just like Henry, Ron had gone out with Fred somewhere, and her mother had already gone to bed, saying she was having a headache from the heat. She sighed, alone.
Thomas was married, not that he told her, she had seen the ring in his hand, and Ginny hoped he would be more talkative outside of work, or she would send her condolences to the poor woman who was married to a ghost.
The day had been quite boring, even after going out with her mother - which resulted in her buying a new hat - her father had sent a Patron with strict orders not to leave the house. Not even to fly. So Ginny spent the afternoon reading, knitting, and even pruning some flowers. All without saying much, since Thomas seemed to hate any human interaction.
At first, Henry was like that, too, quietly, until he seemed to feel sorry for Ginny's loneliness (and his own, since he was 24/7 by her side), and they started talking and she was even able to convince him sit at the table with her when no one was attending dinner.
But today, even after Thomas has been with her a few times, he still seemed to completely ignore the warmth and preferred to remain silent, leaving Ginny talking to herself.
When she thought about starting dinner - even though the chicken looked pale and the potatoes didn't look so appetizing - she heard footsteps toward the dining room, and before she could understand who was coming in, his voice boomed through the quiet room; ‘’Mr. Thomas, you can go to your home. Thank you very much.’’ Henry bowed to her a little. ‘’Good night, Miss Weasley, forgive me for being late.’’
‘’Good night, Mr. Figg.’’ ’Ginny had to bite her cheek to avoid the smile that wanted to break her face. The other Auror bowed to her and left the room, looking even relieved of an unknown tension that weighed on his shoulders. ‘’He doesn’t seem to like me very much.’’ She continued to look at the door through which the man had disappeared.
‘’If you want to know a secret,’’ Henry spoke softly, and approached her a little. ‘‘I don’t think he even likes himself.’’ Ginny laughed, her chest seeming to burn with that feeling of comfort that the man gave to her. It was always so simple to be around him, even when they were around several people and Henry was not allowed to give his real opinions (he would never give them, anyway, but Ginny knew that when it was just the two of them, he could be one little less judicious)
‘’May I know where you and my father have been?’’ She gave up on dinner, turning entirely to Henry and putting her arms on the back of the chair, resting her head there and staring at him curiously. ‘’It was a very boring day.’’
‘’Sorry to leave you, Miss.’’ Like a great gentleman he was, he nodded politely. ‘’But unfortunately I can’t tell you where we went. You’ll have to ask your father.’’
‘’And will he tell me?’’ She tried hopefully.
''I do not think so. Sorry.''
‘‘It’s not your fault.’’ She shrugged, only then really looking at him. Henry was still as he was yesterday; his slightly old and crooked glasses made his green eyes even bigger, Auror's clothes were so tightly buttoned and without any wrinkles that Ginny was embarrassed about her dress, which had a slightly worn hem. But unlike yesterday, she realized that his left hand was bandaged. ''What happened?''
‘’Ah… problems.’’ Henry shrugged. ‘’Another time we can discuss this, but I don’t think it is an issue for a lady who… still needs dinner.’’ He looked over her shoulder at her untouched plate - which now seemed to have gained color and life.
‘’Have you eaten yet?’’ Ginny turned around, slicing the chicken and smiling eagerly for him to sit with her.
''Already, Miss. Sorry.’’ Ginny could even hear his sad smile.
"But sit still, you know I hate to eat alone." She helped herself to the wine, having to bite her cheek again to keep from smiling and bursting into words she swallowed all day, when he sat in front of her. ‘’Can I ask you just one thing?’’
‘’For sure, Miss.’’ Henry seemed to want to disagree when Ginny spilled wine in his glass, but said nothing.
''Your bruised hand, the disappearance for the whole day, and the bloody story... has to do with me?'' She said, filling her mouth with a good forkful of chicken, peas and puree, staring at Henry with a pink color on his cheeks and he looked away from hers for a second.
‘’Yes, Miss.’’ He sighed, looking tense. ‘’But I’m not allowed to say more than that.’’ And then Henry pointed his finger at the walls around them, silent, and then at his own ear.
The walls have ears.
Ginny could not contain the reaction of bulging her eyes and looking at the large window beside them, which showed the entire backyard of the dark and lost yard in the darkness of the night, the trees making a lot of noise, as well as the wind whistling in the small openings of the glass and some old wood.
Henry was still staring at her, his green eyes almost seemed to enter her mind.
‘’What was I doing when I got the scar on my leg?’’ Ginny was alarmed, placing her hand on the wand at her waist, and the other holding the knife even stronger.
‘’You went up on the roof to save a cat, and when I thought was safe and tried to go up too, you slipped and cut your leg on a loose tile.’’ She blew out the air she seemed to be holding. ‘’I’m glad you remember to ask this, but it would have been too late,’’ Henry said, without taking his eyes off her. ‘’You have to do this when I arrive, not after inviting me to sit.’’ He warned her, his eyebrow dark and cut in half by the scar, rising and arching.
‘’I would know if you were an impostor.’’ For some reason she couldn’t take her eyes off him, feeling her chest burn and her hands tremble. And unlike any other time this happened, it was as if her magic was more controlled rather than totally insane inside Ginny.
‘’Miss didn’t seem so sure of that.’’ Henry didn’t seem bothered to look her in the eye either.
‘’I just doubted it. But I would know.’’ She didn’t know how, but something inside her said she would know.
‘’I’m happy that no imposter would take my place.’’ Henry smirked. ‘’I would also know how to differentiate you from an impostor.’’ And then he looked away at the window, and Ginny’s chest seemed to almost break without the pressure that was building there.
She even managed to fill her lungs with air.
| H. F |
‘’If you allow me to ask..’’ Ginny started, as they walked to the place where they were training duels. A place that Mr. Weasley had built after the clearing, where no one would get hurt or end up drawing much attention. It was not respectful for girls born in good families to know the art of dueling.
It was another day, nearly seven in the morning when Henry had to wake Ginny up so they could train the duel. After yesterday's threat, it would be necessary for her to be more than prepared if he could not defend her alone - but he was training even more so that it would not happen.
‘’Where do your scars come from? The one you have on your forehead. I mean.'' She pointed with her gloved hand at his forehead, almost touching where the lightning-like scar was marked on his skin.
‘’It’s too bloody a story for seven in the morning. And for a lady like you.’’ He kept up his education, already seeing the hut they haven’t visited in a few months, trying to ignore the feeling of failure due to having to make a woman like her, needing to learn the art of dueling. Dueling with an auror, to top it off, and not with figures he would transfigure, as he did for the boys who had been a tutor a few years ago.
No Auror learned to duel as Ginny Weasley needed to learn.
Women usually - if they learned to duel - did it with transfigured birds, wooden figures, and sometimes, if it was very necessary, the teacher would participate or call another woman who also trained, so that they would duel.
Ginny was dueling with an Auror who could do this even with his eyes closed, and who had already killed so many men that he almost needed a third hand to count how many.
''Well, if I'm asking for the story of your scar, I'm wise enough to know that I'm going to hear a bloody story.'' Henry opened the wooden hut door for her to enter first, and the smell of damp wood and dust entered their noses. Sunlight passed through broken planks and windows, and the lack of furniture (or what was left over and already broken) caused their voices to echo.
‘’They tried to kill me when I was a kid.’’ He didn’t have to look at her to see her eyes bulge, instead he walked to his usual place and started getting ready for them to start dueling.
‘’Who would do that ?! This is ... This is horrible!’’
‘’I know, Miss.’’ Henry never doubted that. ''But you would be astonished at how many crazy people there are.'' He saw her getting ready across the room, taking off the cloak, gloves and hat that her mother insisted she really wear, even inside the property.
‘’How did you get out alive?’’ Her brown eyes looked a little horrified and a little angry, as if she wanted to protect him. Henry wanted to laugh at the concern of a Viscount's daughter, at a poor man like him. In no dream or hallucination would a woman so above him look at him and speak as she did, always so friendly, seeming not even to notice how foolish she left him.
Henry was only above the bourgeois and, obviously, the miserable and squib (a class that his mother, unfortunately, belonged to), and by very little yet. If it weren't for sheer luck and being in the right place at the right time, Henry would never know what it was like to step inside the Auror Department.
‘‘My mom saved me.’’ He said, simply, but Ginny was still staring at him absurdly. ‘’In fact, she’s not my birth mother… My birth mother died at the hands of the Death Eaters. But she has looked after me since one of the Death Eaters tried to kill me, and here I am, safe and sound.’’
''I've never seen a spell that left a scar.'' She approached, eyes fixed on Henry's forehead, and her bare hand touched his skin, making him shiver and make him walk away in fright, as if her touch burned his face. ‘‘Sorry.’’ Ginny blushed furiously, still looking more scared, withdrawing her hand.
'’It's okay, Miss.’’ Henry swallowed, the wand in his hand shaking slightly, as if the magic wanted to explode out of it at all costs. ‘’And, I don’t know how I came out with just a scar. Maybe my magic saved me.’’
‘’Yeah… maybe it is.’’ Ginny now looked into his eyes, looking a little too serious, the brown eyes that Henry thought were so beautiful, seemed to carry a mountain of feelings that she would never let out. At least, not for him. ‘’Come on… let’s train.’’ And then she turned her back on him, the purple robes making her look like a witch from a Muggle fairy tale. Her hair tied tightly in the braid made her look a little more challenging than she usually was.
Henry knew he would never find a woman more beautiful than she was, and he cursed himself for thinking of her that way.
‘’We’re going to start.’’ He had to breathe deeply, before getting back in line and starting.
They bowed to each other in a sign of respect - if there was any respect in a duel - and then raised their wands.
Ginny and Henry had already dueled a few times, much more than a lady should, and he knew that she was really good and that if they accepted women at the Auror Academy, she would be even better than most the men who worked there. But whenever they dueled, Henry felt that electricity running in his wand, making it difficult to keep the spells for a long time, as if his wands refused to duel.
The magic was out of control - that's why Mr. Weasley had a hut built away from everyone and empty - and he could see the intensity of her magic almost greater than his. There always seemed to be something missing to make his strengths equal, and Henry thought that maybe it was the fact that he always feared for hurting her, while Ginny was instructed to use all her strength.
‘’Expelliarmus.’’ He whispered to himself
‘‘Estupor.’’ Ginny also spoke in an almost lower tone than Henry, and then the spells dueled, and the electricity almost looked like it was about to kill him. His arm was shaking, and the strength of the spells facing each other made the boards tremble and the rest of the entire furniture began to want to dismantle.
But for some reason Ginny lost her focus, and then Henry's magic won and her wand flew into his hands, just as her body stumbled over the furniture behind her.
He also lost his balance, and had it not been for the table well placed behind him, he would have been shamefully thrown back.
‘’I heard a noise.’’ She said, startled. ''I saw someone passing by, behind the house.'' And as if all the strength was suddenly recovered, Henry stood up and looked behind him, through the gaps in the wood where all you could see was the forest.
‘’Are you sure?’’ He asked, already casting a protective spell around them and throwing her wand at her, walking towards her and keeping her behind him - even though she insisted on going to his side.
''Yes. I saw someone. It wasn't a deer or anything. It was a person.’’ Henry’s magic trembled again, and just for safety, he cast three more protective spells around them, and grabbed her arm, pulling her out of the house. ''Don't let me stay behind, someone can hit me from behind and you won't even see.'' She complained when he once again put his body in front of hers, stamping her feet next to Henry, who was looking at the forest silent around them.
‘’Miss, you will stay in the circle of protection, while I will see if there is anyone, understood?’’ He stared at her, the taste of blood dominating the palate with the idea of yet another crazy men trying to kill her.
''But I--''
‘’--Don’t make me petrify you. And I will. ’’ Henry didn’t even give her time to complain, throwing more protections around her, stepping out of the circle and preparing to grab another idiot who tried to get close to Ginny.
Yesterday morning Henry had found a miserable boy, doing the dirty work for wealthy people, bringing with him a cursed Ginny doll and a letter detailing exactly what they would do when they caught her. Henry didn't even like to remember the fury that surrounded him when he read what they intended to do. Not even over his corpse, would anyone touch her.
They were starting to be more creative now. It was the second cursed item they tried to get to Ginny.
Making sure she was still safe - and she looked furious in the circle Henry had created - he started walking around, looking at the sides of the house and a little way through the trees, but never losing sight of Ginny, who was so well protected that he could barely hear her voice.
But maybe Henry should have paid attention to what she was screaming, or trying to scream, because when a spell tried to hit him and ricocheted away, he knew it was she who was protecting him, and that they were with visitors. But he saw no one.
Turning to her, even more furious, Henry felt protected once again, seeing that Ginny was also surrounding him with protective spells, and he made the sign that she needed to leave. He told her to Apparate, but Ginny stayed there, denying it while Henry felt his protective sense scream inside him.
Better him than her.
He hid behind a tree, still feeling protected, and concentrating on the image of Ginny and her mesmerizing eyes, Henry struggled to enter her mind, as they had trained exhaustively. But it always seemed easier with her.
''Apparate out of here.. Now.''
He ordered, even though that part of the Forest was strangely quiet. Had they given up?
‘’Not without you.’’ She snapped in his mind, and Henry wished he could shake her shoulders.
‘’You are more important than me.Get out. They won’t see you, you’re protected.’’
''Not. Without. You.''
Henry took a deep breath and looked behind the tree, looking for whoever it was, wondering what he would do with that stubborn woman. There was no more noise, no spell shining, everything was silent. Which was even more dangerous.
They wouldn't come and just shoot Henry and leave without even fighting. But he was not staying to see.
And if he could bet, he knew it was more dangerous for them to stay there, waiting for them to come back. They had done this once, killed a deer as a threat, so Henry knew there must be a dead animal somewhere nearby.
He would send a patronus to Robards.
'’Apparate to our safe place. I will meet you there.’’ He spoke to her, still in mind.
‘’Do you promise to go?’’
‘’I’m right behind you, Miss.’’

Hi there! I hope you're doing well! I had a question for you, as you are someone who writes both fanfic and original content with OCs. You do it all very well. I was curious if you had any tips for learning how to write OCs, in terms of falling in love with telling their story. How do you learn to care about your OCs as much as you care about your favorites from shows, and how to you learn to love telling your original story as much as you love writing fanfic? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any advice you can give! Keep being awesome!
Oh my gosh, what a question, anon. In that this is both a very nice question and it’s even nicer of you to ask it of me (seriously, how do people cope with compliments?) and a very big question because I don’t think there’s one singular answer, per se.
In terms of falling in love with a story, I’ve been doing that for as long as I can remember, really. Coming up with half-finished plots and overly dramatic character arcs for the Barbies in my parent’s basement was pretty par for the course for my younger self, and spending time on the computer secretly typing up the storylines for those same Barbies and saving it in a folder marked NOTHING was a real thing that I did. (Spoiler: marking it as NOTHING was also like a flashing neon sign to my mother that she should open it, she did not like how much kissing there was.) I think they key, though, is finding something that resonates. When I was a far too romantic nine year old, that was mistaken identities and love conquering all and some really sweeping, if not unattainable, moments of True Love.
Now, though—I think I’ve gotten...maybe a bit more focused. Not necessarily when it comes to falling in love with the stories, though. For me, coming up with something is like dropping into a very deep hole. One that isn’t quite terrifying and has little pinpricks of light that are bullet points on an outline I very likely won’t end up following entirely. Usually, stories start with one of those dots of light and I keep scrambling to find the next one. Often while driving. I spend so much of my time daydreaming while driving anon, you would be scandalized.
So, like, I will give you a for instance. As my father would say. Out of the Park, which is one of the original stories I’ve written, started with a very specific scene in mind. Nick Hopkins (who has always looked like Dansby Swanson in my head) leaning against the ticket booth of the amusement park I worked at when I was in college, with a cup of coffee on the shelf and Olivia Lewis (who sometimes looks Adelaide Kane to my subconscious) sitting behind the window. He tells her, “Take the coffee, Olivia Marie.” And that was it. That was as much of a story as I started with. From the floor of that previously metaphorical hole, though—stuff started forming. Those bits of light started to flicker and ideas started to form.
Why would he call her Olivia Marie? What kind of coffee was it? Did she usually sit in the ticket window that looked suspiciously identical to the one at the amusement park I worked at? Or was she more of a merry-go-round girl? I ran the merry-go-round a lot, so I was especially familiar with that. Why the hell were they at an amusement park to begin with?
And suddenly, the lights are...an inferno, y’know what I mean? Blinding, almost. All these little bits and pieces of characters and personalities. And they start forming, like, constellations or something. Other people. Olivia’s brother. Who is naturally Nick’s best friend. Olivia’s best friend. Nick’s business partner and obnoxious older brother. His teammate from college. How do they all play off each other? What little things make them feel real? Because when writing — and this is true for everything I’ve written, not just OCs — it’s got feel real.
What do I mean by that? The little things.
Olivia drinks blueberry-flavored coffee. Nicky remembers how many sugars she puts in it. No matter how long they’ve been broken up. Erin Spencer cares about everyone and everything more than she’ll let on, so she jokes about all of it. Josh Hopkins being a dick is as much of a defense mechanism as it’s totally true. Luke Lewis bought a polka CD for the merry-go-round because he’s a nostalgic at heart. Rebecca Lewis would do anything to make that amusement park work, including getting her legs burnt on the train engine.
In Blue Line, the Rangers have pre-game traditions. David buys Emma pop tarts when he knows she’s stressed. Emma and Mary Margaret bake things. Will lets Peggy Jones paint his nails for the last four season of his career.
It’s the little things, anon. Those character-specific traits that, for me at least, make all the difference. Because people are not just sweeping archetypes. They’re weird habits and nervous ticks and likes and dislikes. And that gives the reader some insight. Because those little things say things without having to lay them out in black and white. Nick Hopkins showing up with blueberry-flavored coffee shouts from the pages how in love he still is with Olivia Lewis. And that makes me fall in love with her a little bit, too. In the story itself. In those little things that make the story worth telling.
Truth be told, I love writing OCs and original stuff. Because that’s mine. That’s my idea and my characters and making sure they all fall in love with the little things in each other is a bit like falling in love with the little things in real life. Creating something is never easy — even if you are borrowing someone else’s characters, or a plot point. But it’s that opportunity, to make something of your own, that makes it fun.
#heyyooo sorry this got long#i LIVE for the little character details#in someone knowing something about someone else#in remembering#in them wanting to learn it#because real people do that#my husband knows my coffee order#i know what kind of ice cream is his favorite#general archetypes are cool to start with i think#but if that's all the characters are then i'm never going to care about them#anonymous#laura rambles

Strangers in the Bar I
Part II | Part III
Alex Turner x OC (I guess??)
Description: Two lonely people observe each other in a bar. It leads to something nice. Word count: 2,294
Warning: swearing, alcohol consumption, smoking.
A/N: It is not my first fanfic, but the first one I post here. Hope y'all enjoy and leave me some comments! This was written in April-May 2019, when I was strongly fascinated with Alex, but I can't say I thought about him while writing, so it's not really a fanfiction piece. Anyway, it's up to you to decide how to interpret this. I would love to receive feedback! Thank you for reading :)
Part I
Sunny Los Angeles in the middle of spring was an oasis of happiness, just as I thought it would be, no disappointment here. A whirlwind of events brought me here somehow and I am not mad at all. I always thought I am a New York kinda girl, strolling through the parks and skyscrapers, sipping my shit-load-of-spice latte, day (and night-) dreaming. You know, all the Great Gatsby vibes as well, but I am not into loud sounds unless I am at some concert dancing my lower back off.
My friends, who live in LA, gave a nice tour of the city and at the end of the day I am finding myself totally drained physically at the bar in the middle of nowhere (LA area). We had some cocktails with lads and even danced to a couple of extra popular Dua Lipa’s songs and a numerous amount of hispanic hits. It was great. Gals were tired, just as I was, so they went home, assuring me my hotel is 10 blocks away and an Uber would be totally affordable. Not that I am poor or something, but I always was cautious with money and my friends know I might come off as a cheapskate from time to time. So I felt fine to stay a little bit more and contemplate the infamous LA nightlife with my own eyes. Even if it’s only one bar of hundreds and not even the fanciest one.
It was over an hour since my friends left me and I was on my third Brandy Alexander when a strange man caught my attention. Moonage Daydream by a genius Bowie was playing extra loudly and he was moving his hips and lip-syncing so theatrically I couldn’t force myself to stop watching him. He was so into the music he never actually noticed he was looked at by everyone in the bar. A bartender who I cracked a couple of jokes with had a little smile on his face watching the dude and I asked “What? You like him?”. The reply I got shook me to the core: “Everyone likes him, although he is not very talkative. Nothing wrong with a dude fancying to dance a little, right?”. I turned a bit to acquire a better view on the dance floor; (the bartender’s remark made me actually watch the guy enjoying himself). He looked stunning, to be honest, but also weird, in a positive way. Long, slightly curly hair was always in his eyes, so he had to shake his head pretty often. White shirt, half-unbuttoned, gold chain, a couple of rings. He looked like a high (-profile) rockstar. (Exactly what I expected to see, but haven’t yet) His pants were really tight, though…
He was definitely interesting to pay attention to, but the song ended and I found myself staring a little too hard at the dude, so I thought it would be nice to chill a bit outside. I waved at the bartender that I will go out, took my glass and strolled through the crowd to the exit. Californian twilight was full of smells and sounds, with people chattering, cars beeping, birds singing their mysterious tunes, everything coming together with the smell of warm concrete, cigarettes and different spirits. I lit my cigarette and took a deep breath, watching the sky change colours from light bubblegum pink to pastel turquoise and dark blue, with some stars peeking through a light dim of clouds on my right. There was something about it that made me feel lighter a bit, free from the burdens of my everyday life. The contrast of the sky and dark silhouettes of trees and buildings reminded me I am not actually alone. I took another deep breath, inhaling the smoke, and hold it for a couple of seconds. I exhaled and watched the smoke twirl in front of my face. It always fascinated me how such a deadly thing can also be so beautiful. Just like love. I brushed those thoughts off of my mind, that’s not a way to have a good time. Actually, I was quite in the mood to show off some moves on the dance floor if the music fits. I am not really into hispanic tunes, just not my cup of tea. I threw away the butt and finished my drink in one go. I have nothing to lose, right?…
As I returned to the bar, I looked for the dancing dude in the crowd but he was nowhere to be found. Sad, I thought to myself, we could have had a really nice mute dance together. Anyway, I needed another drink to become a part of the dancing people, so I went straight to the bar. “Mind pouring me another one, darling?”, I asked my bartender as he was washing some shakers and spoons. “I don’t mind at all, what do you want?” - “The dancing juice you gave that guy in a very tight jeans” - “Gotcha, sweetheart” he chuckled and strolled away to the small freezer at the back. My heart was heavy and my breath trembled a bit. It’s always like that when I know I am about to do some stupid shit and then regret it the morning after. Even though I knew, I never stopped myself from doing it because it’s fun, right? At this point I just wanted to lift off the weight of my life off my shoulders and have fun, whatever it means, really.
The Bartender (why I never asked for his name? He looks like Josh to me…) came back with several bottles in his hands. “Hey, I guessed you want to dance, so I decided to help you not only by getting you drunk” - “Yeah? What are you going to do?” - “I already did, next song is for you”, he smiled and winked at me. I laughed and turned around to check if the dancing guy appeared, while I wait for the Bartender to fuel me with whatever he mixed. After torturous couple of seconds I saw the dude come out the restroom, hand running through his hair in a desperate attempt to make it not stick to his sweaty forehead. I wanted him present when I dance because I felt something while watching him being bonkers on the dance floor and it gave me some confidence to try it myself. He proceeded through the crowd to the bar and gestured the Bartender to come over. As I already was sipping on my “dancing juice” I started to feel the urge to do something, not to stay on my stool and right then I heard a starting riff of the song the Bartender put on for me. I knew the song, I used to listen to it a lot when I was younger, during my first year at Uni. Oh so many memories, so many parties… I sip the drink once more and put it a little too hard on the bar, then take off my jacket and leave on the stool I was occupying. The riffs were becoming louder and the dancing dude was smiling. What was he smiling at?
I was already on the dance floor, waving my head like a heroin-infused Mick Jagger look-alike.
Stop making the eyes at me I’ll stop making my eyes at you
I catch myself looking right at the dancing dude, like I am talking to him. His eyes widened and he raised his eyebrows a bit, surprised with attention.
And what it is that surprises me Is that I don't really want you to
I winked at him and turned around to stroll through a sheer dancing crowd a little further from him and closer to my stuff I left unattended. (I shouldn’t have to worry though, the Bartender was looking after it for me)
And your shoulders are frozen (cold as the night) Oh but you're an explosion (you're dynamite)
I shuddered as if I was actually cold and looked at him again, lip-syncing "you're an explosion" right at him. He started laughing and cheered me with his drink. The Bartender leaned over to tell him something, like they were long-time friends and I was surprised but not in the mood to waste my time thinking about that, it's not my business. So I continued with my crazy moves and weird poses.
Your name isn't Rio, but I don't care for sand Lighting the fuse might result in a bang, with a bang-go!
I felt him watching me with my back but I just didn't want to please him by looking at him. What a man, I thought, but what am I doing? The music was so encouraging to remember all the crazy shit that it was a soundtrack for, I managed to stick my worries to the back of my head and actually enjoy myself for the first time in long months.
I bet that you look good on the dance floor I don't know if your looking for romance or I don't know what you're looking for I said I bet that you look good on the dance floor Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984 From 1984!
Now, I told myself and turned around to watch the dancing dude talk to the Bartender. I actually thought they were talking about me because the Bartender kept his eyes on me all the time the dude was telling him something. When he finished speaking, he glanced at me and I used the moment to sing "I bet that you look good on the dance floor" to him from afar. I was sure he saw it. I smiled, continuing moving my hips to the sound of music and trying to impersonate a robot from 1984. I knew he was watching me despite the very much dim lighting of the bar, coming from neon signs and candles on the tables mostly. The only light place was the bar itself, so I could see the dude, while he couldn't see much of me. But I know he saw, I was pretty close to the bar anyway.
I wish you'd stop ignoring me Because you're sending me to despair Without a sound yeah you're calling me And I don't think it's very fair That your shoulders are frozen (cold as the night) Oh but you're an explosion (you're dynamite) Your name isn't Rio, but I don't care for sand Lighting the fuse might result in a bang, with a bang-go!
I came right up to him, singing the words to him, wanting to catch his attention and drag him to the dance floor with me. I didn't care if he wants it or not, he better come with me. The dude was really impressed and started laughing, but I took his hand in mine and pulled a bit for him to get up. He threw a quick glance at the Bartender, who nodded and laughed at us. The dude gave up and followed me. We somehow appeared to be at the very center, dancing and jumping like crazy. We sang the entire chorus at the top of our lungs, pointing at each other and dancing like robots. He did it hilariously and I couldn't stop laughing.
Oh there ain't no love no, Montagues or Capulets Just banging tunes 'n' DJ sets 'n' Dirty dancefloors and dreams of naughtiness!
He played his imaginary guitar and banged his head like he was actually playing the song at some gig and I was pretty taken aback how rockstar-ish he looked at that moment. He sang "dreams of naughtiness" way out of the range and was looking at me while I was imitating thrusts with my hips and we fell to our knees laughing right after.
When the song ended we were absolutely out of breath, but both of us smiled widely. As we proceeded to the bar, a slow song started playing. The dude stopped for a moment, bit his lip and offered me his hand.
Do you know what it feels like to dance alone? Do you know what it feels like?
I looked at him with zero understanding what's going on but placed my had in his open palm. He dragged me gently back to the dance floor.
His hand was on my waist and it felt very comfortable. At the moment I felt like we know each other for eternity, not less, and I still didn't know his name. He organically moved us both, whispering the lyrics in my ear, spinning me around, holding my hand, looking me in the eyes. He smelled like a very expensive cologne, cigarettes and a bit of healthy sweat - an unforgettable combination to be embraced in.
When the lights are turned too low for me In the dark I feel you close to me You're the one that I want to see
At this point we were barely moving, my hands around his neck, his hands on my waist; we just looked each other in the eyes, trying to find something we're missing… The song was just about to end when we both rushed forward a bit and split our dancing hug awkwardly. We proceeded to the bar and I finished my cocktail looking for an explanation to what happened. I closed my eyes, capturing those moments we shared with that strange man in my mind. Finally, I took a deep breath and opened my eyes to catch a look from the Bartender. In a slight haze, I turned around searching for the dancing dude, but he vanished without a trace, although he was right by my side a minute ago. Disappointed, I asked for a receipt, paid and went straight out.

Anaïs - Queen of Thieves - Remy x MC (Daisy)
This short fic was written for @jesuishybris from the request:-
Your fanfics are one of my favorite things on Tumblr. When you have an chance, can you write about MC and Remy babies? I would love see your perspective about them teaching French and Spanish to their children.
I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to write this, feel like it’s been on my list for ages: I love these two so so much, I really wanted to do this request justice. I hope I did, and I really hope you like it. Thank you for asking for this because I just loved writing it so much 💕
(I’ve included all the little translations at the end for anyone who doesn’t speak French and Spanish)

[MORE] [[MORE]]
Finally, she was here. And Remy felt like his heart might burst every time he looked at her.
Daisy was asleep, and she had earned her rest. Remy had never been more in awe of, or proud of his lovely wife than he was today. The way she battled through the pain to bring his beautiful, beautiful daughter into the world... He had no words that were near enough to convey what he felt. He’d simply kissed Daisy’s face over and over as the tears rolled down his cheeks. A tiny baby girl for them to love: what could be more wonderful than that?
As he sat on the winged chair by Daisy’s bedside, cradling his newborn daughter in his arms, Remy couldn’t tear his eyes away. He was so completely and utterly besotted, a blissful grin stretched from ear to ear while his fingertips gently traced the soft, delicate skin of her little cheek as she slept. A shock of dark hair like her mother’s, his nose, perfect eyelashes and rosy pink lips: his darling little girl. He whispered her name as she peacefully dreamed, “Anaïs... Mon ange... Mon petite ange precious... Je suis ton papa, et je t’aime pour toujours, ma belle Anaïs...”
Remy and Daisy had spent so many hours daydreaming over all of the hopes and plans they had for their little boy or girl, for their new life as a family. Lazy mornings over the breakfast table, laughing, and hushed conversations in the dark, lying in each other’s arms; Daisy would whisper, ‘Do you think they’ll have your eyes?’ or ‘Do you think they’ll like art?’. They would talk for hours about the places they would take their baby, the experiences they would share as they grew, the things they would teach the little one, and all the fun they would have... The conversation always ended the same way though, with Remy touching Daisy’s stomach and smiling,
“You can be whatever you want to be and do whatever makes you happy, mon tout-petit, you’re already so very, very loved.”
—-
Early into the pregnancy, Daisy had bought a little notepad, which had made Remy laugh: of course, another list! She’d jotted down all the names that they liked, things that they would need to buy (or steal) as they thought of them, important dates for ultrasounds and appointments, and lots of funny and cute things to look back on once the baby arrived. They started to think about the type of parents they wanted to be: fair, loving, encouraging... And one thing they decided upon very quickly was that they’d like for the baby to be able to speak multiple languages: French of course, English, and Spanish. Remy spoke at least ‘some’ of many more languages than just those, but he thought three seemed like a good enough starting place for a little kid. Daisy agreed that she’d like to start teaching the baby straight away, she wanted their child to learn the languages organically: it had always bothered her that her parents had avoided speaking too much Spanish to her growing up. They did it for what they ‘thought’ were the right reasons - being concerned that she’d develop a heavy accent - but Daisy still couldn’t see how having another skill and connection to her Cuban heritage would have been detrimental... Since joining The Gilded Poppy, she’d had plenty of opportunities to improve her Spanish to a fluent level, and to get her high school French to a point where she could comfortably hold a conversation and understand most things. Being able to immerse herself in the various cities where they’d carried out heists, living the language, had been incredible, but Remy’s natural linguistic flair had really been instrumental to her progress: he had such a patient nature and a true talent for explaining complex theories in a way that they just clicked... He’d blushed furiously when Daisy told him what an excellent teacher or lecturer he’d have made, if he weren’t such a good conman... They conducted some internet research on the best ways to raise a multi-lingual child, deciding that One Parent, One Language method seemed like a good way to go: Remy would speak primarily to the baby in French, Daisy would use Spanish, and when they chatted as a family or were together with their friends, English would be used. Other parents had reported a lot of success using this method; it seemed to cut down on the child ‘mixing up’ the languages.
As Daisy’s belly got bigger, Remy’s favourite thing became chattering to the little bump so it would know his voice: he would tell it about The Gilded Poppy, about his younger brother, about how he fell in love with Daisy the moment he met her. At first it felt a little awkward, but soon, it became the most natural thing in the world for Remy to talk to his unborn child in his native tongue. He would softly sing Petit Escargot and other nursery rhymes quite happily, pressing a gentle kiss to Daisy’s swollen stomach before bedtime, whispering, ‘bonne nuit et fait de beaux rêves, ma petite cherie’.
—-
And now the wait was over: no more wondering if they would have a boy or a girl, wondering who the baby would look like, when they would arrive... Anaïs was finally here, and the little thief had stolen his heart completely. Remy’s focus on his little one was only broken by the faint murmur of Daisy wakening up,
“Mmmmm. Hey...”
Remy beamed at her, whispering,
“Cherie, are you ok? Did you sleep well?”
Daisy nodded, slumber still clinging to her as she shifted to sit, peering over at them both,
“I needed that. Is she ok?”
Remy winked,
“Of course, she’s just relaxing with her Papa. It’s been a big day for mon ange.”
He slipped silently from the chair and onto the edge of the hospital bed, kissing Daisy’s forehead tenderly as she smiled at Anaïs, cooing,
“Hola mi niña hermosa... Papi y Mami, te amamos mucho, Anaïs...”
Remy leaned back, letting Daisy’s head snuggle against his shoulder, he’d never felt more blithely content than he did in this moment with his two girls, his whole world, wrapped in his arms.

endless love - erling haaland and jadon sancho fanfic
Part 2 – August 2020
Grace knew she had her work cut out for her, but she didn’t realise how tough the task ahead was going to be. It sounded simple coming from Jadon’s mouth, but in reality, she had the hardest part of the deal. She was trying to process the question he had asked her; she had only been back in Dortmund for a few weeks, but things were starting to happen quickly.
“What do you mean you need my help?” Grace giggled.
“Okay, listen to what I have to say then answer please?” Jadon pleaded. Was he nervous? Damn right. Was he scared? Absolutely. He knew it was too late to retreat now, he needed to ask his former girlfriend the question. “I want to ask out Ella and I need your assistance.”
She wasn’t certain, but she was pretty sure she had blinked just over a hundred times. She was struggling to find the words to respond, she never thought she would find herself in this situation after all them weeks.
“I know it’s a strange question to be asking but that’s what friendships about, right?” Jadon nervously laughed, earning an eye roll from the Norwegian. He was trying to read her facial expressions, he wasn’t sure what she was thinking. “I know it’s weird, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.”
“Woah, no! Honestly, it’s fine, I’m just not sure how I can help.” Grace pondered, she wanted to help him, they had grown closer since she had returned. She always wanted to have a friendship with him, even after everything that had happened. “Let’s get brainstorming! This is going to be so amazing, you’re going to have to have your thinking cap on to top it for when you potentially propose!”
-
Today was the day. If today was successful; Grace and Jadon’s friendship would reach a new level, a level she didn’t know was possible a few months ago. If unsuccessful; well, their friendship would still blossom, either way both were happy they could be in each other’s lives again.
Jadon was incredibly happy he could now call Grace one of his best friends; he had a deep regret over what had happened between them but he knew that if he needed someone to talk to, she would be there for him.
And she always was.
Whether it was one in the morning or ten in the evening, she would always answer her phone. She found comfort in talking to him about her problems, which she happened to have very little off, but she also enjoyed knowing how much trust he had in her to share all his problems.
“Hello, earth to Jadon,” he readjusted his eyes to see a smirk on Grace’s lips, realising she had caught him daydreaming he mentally frowned. “Of all days to daydream you choose today, I have not put all this effort into it for you to miss it because you are too busy watching the clouds!”
“Alright sassy pants I’m here, mentally and physically, now let’s go get me a girlfriend!” he cheered, a little fist bump in the air to show his enthusiasm. Grace started to feel slightly sorry for Ella, she had no idea what she would be signing up for if she agreed to be Jadon’s girlfriend, the man was a complete moron. She hoped she had the patience of a saint. “Now who’s watching the clouds?”
“Enough with the sarcasm little one, let’s go!”
Lights. Camera. Action.
Arriving at the hotel Ella was shocked, she was unsure why Jadon had asked to meet her here but she was excited to see him. Scanning through her messages she noted the room number; as she opened the door she gasped as she looked out to see the beautiful view of Dortmund. She continued walking through the open living space noticing a very well dressed Jadon; a bottle of champagne in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other, she couldn’t help but place a wide smile on her face.
“Jadon,” she squealed. He smirked as he sipped his champagne, nerves starting to fill his entire body. “Why are you here? Why are we here? Why are you stood with champagne? What’s all thi-“
“I can’t answer all that at once, so pick the most important question!” he laughed, earning a slight nudge to the chest from a shocked Ella. Now or never he said to himself, mentally preparing him for the next couple of moments. “I just wanted to spend some quality time with you.”
“Is that it?”
-
Grace smiled as she gazed at her family home; every time she found herself stood in front of this door, she always had feelings of happiness flowing through her body. Today was no different. It was her brother Christopher’s twenty-first birthday; she had a very close relationship with him, so she was grateful she would be able to attend his special day.
“There he is, happy birthday my favourite brother,” she beamed. This is one person that she was always thankful for being in her life, whenever she had an issue she would call him up and pour her heart out to him. No matter the time, day or issue, he would always listen to her thoughts.
“I’m your only brother,” Christopher frowned. He was happy to see his younger sister with a smile on her face; he wasn’t particularly fond of Erling after what he did, but he knew how much they loved each other, even if she didn’t want to admit it. “Erling’s over there, have you spoke to him yet? Did you give him an answer?”
“Not yet,” Grace sighed. After the family fun night, Erling asked her to be his girlfriend, she didn’t reply, they hadn’t spoken about it since. That was eight days ago. “I know you don’t like him that much but believe me, he really has changed. You know what they say, you don’t know what you’ve got until its gone. I think he knew what he had, he just didn’t think he would ever lose me.”
“And has he lost you?”
“Never. There was always a part of me that no matter what country we were in or what he had done, I always loved him.”
-
Grace and Erling were now sat in a secluded area in the back garden, they placed themselves on a large swinging bench, only a few centre metres apart. Her heart rate started to speed up, she was unsure why she was suddenly nervous. The last time she got nervous around him was before they first started dating, she smiled to herself remembering the happy memories.
“So..” he started, never taking his eyes of her face as he quickly scratched the back of his head. This was the moment he had been waiting for. “I think we need to talk about everything.”
Grace nodded. “I’m sorry for leaving so abruptly last week, we had such a good night and I felt awful for ruining it.”
“Why are you apologising? It should be me,” Erling softly spoke, he was now gently holding her hands, the back of her thumb slowly caressing over his. “I shouldn’t have ambushed you like that. I was just so happy with how everything was going that I needed to get it all off my chest, I couldn’t bear you not knowing how I feel.”
It was now silent, only the slight wind was heard. Until...
“I love you,” she blurted out, seeing the blue eyes she loved so much widen in shock. Now was the time. “I never stopped loving you, it just took me longer to realise what I want.”
“And what do you want?”
“I want you,” Grace whispered, Erling’s hands were now cupping her face. “I want everything with you. I want everything we had but better. I want to be your girlfriend. I know it’s eight days late but my answer is yes. That’s if you’ll have me?”
“Forever and always.”
