This afternoon, Misti & I attended The Press Open Training for the up and coming Pro Boxer Emeka “Lionheart” Nwokolo - Emeka7o7 who happens to be my nephew... for his Title Fight in Colombia on July 23rd vs Castillo for the ABF Belt. The fight will be streamed live on Facebook. Emeka is the son of Young Dick Tiger (Charles Nwokolo)a former pro boxer and champ...and of my sister, Elizabeth Wilson.... and the nephew of boxing great Dick Tiger. Two years ago Emeka was in the news for his car plunging off a cliff in Malibu on his way home from work, driving unchartered roads for the first time in the pitch black… and he made it out alive... almost unscathed, kicking his way out of the car and using a scissors he found in his glove compartment and his strength, will, faith and determination to help him climb his way up the mountain in the dark and flag down a car for help. Last August, he decided to change from a soccer pro to a boxing pro and now he’s boxing like his family legacy. He’s 6-0 and this is is his first Title fight. Jerry LOVED Boxing. He loved watching it, he loved meeting people involved, he loved intelligence and strategy. One of the great joys in his life was his brother (in-law), Young Dick Tiger (King Charles Nwokolo from Nigeria). Tiger was a contender in the Olympics, winner in the Commonwealth Games and a very successful professional boxer who now focuses on working with up and coming talent and people who have a passion to box as their fitness routines at his Tiger Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, California. Tiger an inspiring example of one who suffered adversity in his early years and turned it into LOVE. Love of his profession, love of his family, love of his friends, kindness towards everyone. He makes you smile and lifts your heart. Tiger is pure joy.
