[Image description: A digital drawing of Amanda Young from the Saw franchise. She's wearing her outfit from the third film, but has her hair from the first. She's wearing the reverse bear trap, which leaves only the top half of her face visible. Her eyes are open wide and staring directly at the viewer. Eyeliner runs down her cheeks. In one hand she holds overflowing needles which are falling from her loose grasp. In the other she has a tape recorder. Her arms are stiff, as if she's a posed mannequin. Bandages are wrapped around both of her wrists. These bandages, the tape recorder, the needles and the reverse bear trap are all coloured a bold light blue. Amanda is coloured bright white with grey shading, while the background is a darker grey. It also has a subtle spiral pattern to it.]

The Garden | LEBEN YOUNG
Sourced from beaches and rivers across New Zealand, layers of sand, coal, stone and paint are built up into surfaces that cover and contour various forms and objects, evoking geological time and processes. Small, individual objects are combined to produce larger components that oscillate between object and topographical representation. A free and playful approach to the assembly of the work allows for loose threads of narrative to escape and weave throughout the installation.

Vincenzo Merola FLAWS curated by Gabriele Salvaterra Egna (BZ), Kunstforum Unterland 1st - 15th June 2024

We're excited to share that João de Castro’s “Let’s Give Them Something To Talk About" has made it onto ArtLand's "Top Exhibitions" list.
João's fine art photography transcends mere sexuality, capturing moments where power seamlessly shifts from photographer to subject, epitomising liberation and authenticity.
In this exhibition, João's lens reveals women in their most intimate and raw states—naked, alone and seemingly unaware of the viewer's gaze. These high-contrast black-and-white images, characterised by dramatic lighting and striking composition, celebrate the subject's uninhibited self-expression. João's unique relationship with his models fosters a safe space where they can explore and unleash their true identities without judgment.
