If, while watching a show, the creators clearly illustrate a character saying things like, “are you okay?” to another character, and you choose to ignore it as a sign of that character caring because *deep breath*... NORMALLY when YOU are out saving the world from an immortal witch and accidentally fall into another dimension after helping your sis hatch a plan that sees an entire kingdom destroyed and inadvertently ends up with your friend being killed and her bestie from school activating daddy mode 20 years prematurely and then you get screwed over by the riddler-ADHD-cat while the universe is so done with you pining your love for your best girlie that it locks you in an alt dimension until you confess and make out, then a flood kills your pal’s villagers and snaps his last thread of sanity whilst dodging a pissed off Mary Poppins that has it in for your sister and literally everyone is having a mental health crisis... You feel that you would express concern differently in these circumstances cos you’re that experienced in the above, please note:

There’s a huge difference between being empathetic with someone/trying to understand where they’re coming from and making yourself believe you are the same or trying to make them feel that you are on the same page. If that’s how you truly feel, do you! But if it’s not how you feel, it’s okay to feel that way too. Basically feel how you wanna feel. Feeling so deeply can make you vulnerable to embodying the same energy the people around you are emitting. If someone is expressing a deep sadness or anger, it’s easy to say “yeah I totally know what you mean” and then all of a sudden you’re saying all these things you weren’t feeling two minutes ago and eventually you convince yourself that you feel that way too now. Be an attentive listener, but don’t attach yourself to every word.
