PRISCILLA how do you remember this LOL i remember all my teachers being like ‘why does this say your name is jamila winchester’ the next day it was so embarrassing gkdkdf, but i stand by it

Despite our other conversation, my experience has been that shorter cashiers are better off because you dont have to stop at the till/scanner.

maybe i really am just so short that i can’t conceptualize this but why would you need to stoop like....your hands are what need to be down by the register and the scanner?

i know the top and bottom aren’t technically selfies, but i can’t capture laughter on my own. 2016 has been a hard year. we’re all aware. but this year i went to chicago, london, madrid, paris, barcelona, budapest, berlin, amsterdam, and my home base, new york. this year i had my first paid theatre internship and workshopped a play off-broadway playing a lead role. this year i saw my favorite artist perform in an intimate venue, and then i met her. this year i signed my first lease and learned a second language and listened to a lot of new music and learned to observe and listen.

this year i laughed and cried and fought and kissed and reflected and wrote and created and planned and explored and realized things. i experienced some losses this year, personal and, of course, political. i tried some things i never thought i would try. i started growing older as opposed to growing up.

sé que la cima y el fondo técnicamente no son selfies, pero no me puedo capturar la risa solx. 2016 ha sido un año duro. ya lo sabemos. pero este año fui a chicago, londres, madrid, parís, barcelona, budapest, berlín, ámsterdam, y mi propia ciudad, nueva york. este año tuve mi primero trabajo en la industria de teatro, y estaba en un taller de una obra off-broadway en un papel principal. este año vi mi artista favorita en un lugar íntimo y después la conocí. este año firmé mi primer contrato de arrendamiento y aprendí otro idioma y escuché mucha nueva música y aprendí observar y escuchar. 

este año reí y lloré y luché y besé y reflexioné y escribí y creé y planeé y exploré y me di cuenta de cosas. sufrí unas pérdidas este año, personales y, claro, políticas. probé unas cosas que nunca pensé que probaría. empecé a madurar en lugar de crecer.

(perdónenme si mi traducción no es perfecto. todavía estoy aprendiendo, y seguiré aprendiendo en los años que vienen.)

41. Are you a good liar?

I am the worst liar. I literally never do it because I am so bad at it. My friends have taken advantage of this. youcancallmedoctor can vouch.

Showers, usually. Though relaxing in a bubble bath with some music/tv doesn’t sound too bad.

24. Favorite part of your daily routine?

oh i think maybe my drive to work in the morning, i like just listening to music on the drive and there are no outside factors that can really affect my mood because i’m alone in my car. i wake up quite close to the time i leave lol so my brain hasn’t fully switched on yet and i’m not thinking about all the stuff i have to do at work or anything else. 

135. Dumbest lie you ever told?

gosh, i need to think about that. most of my lies are about why i can’t attend something gjkd, i usually lie about why i’m taking time off work because its not their business. i don’t think that’s dumb... i’m not really sure? i have a non-functioning memory so nothing is coming back to me i’m sorry, just know i don’t need to lie to be dumb rofl
