Hello dear Gerec! So, I'm new to the Cherik fandom (I know, I know...), and I'm extraordinarily delighted do see the immense amount of fics in existence. Actually I'm now a bit overwhelmed, I just want to read everything, all at once :-D Would you be so kind and recommend some great fics for a newcomer to start with? I like almost any kinds on tropes, as long there isn't too much angst, smut is OK. I love lengthier fics as well, like up to 200k words. Thank you and I love your tumblr!

Hello Anon and welcome! It's never too late to join a new (or old fandom) and I think you will find that there are still lots of people actively writing Cherik/X-Men fics :D

I've previously posted a reply to a similar question here, and I hope you'll find it useful! I would also suggest that you do some simple searches on ao3 using a few filters that narrow things down to your personal interests - i.e. canon fic, fix-it fic, regency aus, modern aus etc. and sort by kudos/hits and just start digging in. And, for any fics you read that you really enjoy, don't forget to go through that author's repertoire because there's a good chance you'll find other gems there to love!

Hopefully this gives you enough to get started. Feel free to come back for more recs once you've gotten a better taste of all the brilliant fics this fandom has to offer!!!

The world exists in such a baffling state of simultaneous sex-aversion and sex-hegemony. Every social platform on the internet is trying to banish sex workers to the shadow realm but I can't post a tweet without at least two bots replying P U S S Y I N B I O. People are self-censoring sex to seggs and $3× but every other ad you see is still filled with half-naked women. i genuinely dont care if the creation of all media comes to a screeching halt btw i will very gladly live with no new movies no new tv shows no new anything for years if that's what it takes for the people who create them to be treated like human beings. i hope every other facet of the entertainment industry goes on strike too and i hope all the ones that havent unionised yet will. i want media creation to become completely impossible and i want the people who could make it possible again to hold out until they get every single thing they want. btw

My actual favorite part of wisdom saga is telemachus trying to lean against Athena (he thought about that for .03 seconds and then was like nah !!! :D she's my friend not the goddess of war!!! ngl, not really! I never really looked into their lore much outside what we get from MSQ if I'm being honest, and I haven't even done all the ShB role quests hdjkfgjhd It's not that I don't care about them, I just end up getting distracted and focusing on other stuff.

Though I do headcanon that if Ardbert were still alive at this point, he and Yllis would get up to untold levels of trouble.

Why Six of Crows/Shadow and Bone Fans Should Watch Lockwood & Co. on Netflix coming 27 January:

A main trio that is arguably more idiotic, incompetent, and chaotic (said affectionately) than Inej, Kaz and Jesper in S&B.

Found family. Like actually the most domestic and cozy found family ever.

A company leader who has an affinity for wearing only suits and long coats.

To add to that, the leader of the team suffers from childhood trauma. Sounding familiar yet?

Alright, alright, Lockwood is essentially the smilier version of Kaz, and uses his charisma to mask his tragic past. Actually on further reflection, if you put together Nikolai Lanstov and Kaz Brekker into one character, you’d get Anthony Lockwood.

Badass heroine who is also pining for her boss.

For Six of Crows lovers, L&C also has mystery! betrayal! criminal underworlds! underdog story! trauma! teenagers/young adults battling the establishment/authority.

Other Reasons You Should Watch:

Witty, sarcastic, and dry British humour (which contrasts well with the horror).

Main trio burns down a house!

Main heroine’s bff is a talking decapitated skull in a jar.

Ghosts! Sinister plots! Characters exploring the fabric between life and death!

Lots of action with rapiers fighting ghost and human enemies alike!

Romance!

toysofdukeness deleted their cc/wiped their patreon and i just wanted to say, the impact that early access content has set for the sims (particularly sims 4) community has once again showed how much of a disappointment it is altogether. whether it's trackers in downloads, doxing people, broken/uninspired sets and now stealing other people's free content... to the point where we drive a member who has been here for a very long time... something's eventually got to give but it's exhausting seeing the lack of accountability of these creators time and time again. please don't give these people your money. it's unfortunate that we have to call them out on their bs. however it's incredibly clear that a lot of ea creators have no integrity and will truly do anything to make a quick buck
