Hi! I'm working on my own ghost and was wondering about the specifics with the ghost being able to comment on programs that are open or minimized. I did some looking around in Zarla's W.D. Gaster ghost and found the findwin.dll file and managed to get the ghost to comment on Notepad++, but was wondering how I find the names to get other programs not already listed to work? For example if I wanted the ghost to comment on me having FireAlpaca open, how would I find the name to call it in the code?

My apologies for the late response! Unfortunately, the download link for findwin and the companion program that reveals window IDs is now dead. Thankfully, there is another SAORI with a similar function that you could use called window_info, if you're willing to try it. It's not a 1:1 replacement, but it does get some window names that findwin doesn't.

You'll need to download the SAORI here and add the dll file to your ghost. Then, you can call it like so:

_num = FUNCTIONEX("window_info.dll") _windows = "%(valueex)"

_num will contain the number of windows that are open, and _windows will be a list of the window titles. You can use _in_ to search for words, or if you know how arrays work, you can use ASEARCH on the valueex array for a cleaner search. And much more! This SAORI gives you an array of names to work with, rather than randomly choosing from open windows. However, it's not so good for checking if the user has a program open but minimized.
