For Gokudera

Your first impression of Gokudera: "My first impression..." Haru thinks back on it. The first time she met him was around the time that she'd first met Tsuna and she had gotten mad at him for corrupting a young and innocent child and she'd gone on to challenge him. "My first impression was that he's kind of rude and a bit of a punk?"

Current impression: "He's still a punk." That doesn't mean it's a bad thing, though. You can just tell by the way she says it affectionately, "He's my punk." Cue a small giggle. "He says things like how he's still not good enough and that he still has room to improve, but I think he's been doing great for himself." She doesn't deny the fact that it's good to strive for self-improvement as there was always room to improve. "I've been coming to rely on him quite a bit recently-- goes to show how comfortable I am around him. He's as stubborn as I am, so once he notices i'm feeling off, he won't let me go." She laughs. "Sometimes, that's the fun part."

Are you attracted to Gokudera?: "Sure would be awkward if the answer to this was 'no', considering that we're dating."

Something you find frightening about Gokudera: "It's not really something about him that I find frightening, but of his position?" As the righthand of Tsuna, Gokudera had a big target on his back, as well as the other guardians. It was scary to think of what could possibly go wrong when they went on missions. On one hand, there is less anxiety and worry if you don't know what's going on like Nana-san, but true to the academic soul in her, she'd rather know. There was nothing worse than being left in the dark and believing in something that was hopeless. "It's frightening to think that one day, I may wake up and learn that he's gone..." His temper? Pff! "Teleprompter-san, you're funny. Do you think i'd have been butting heads with him over the years if his temper scared me? I know he wouldn't willingly hurt an ally, so he's not scary at all." Now some of the Varia-- that's a different story. She can believe that they might actually do something if you cross them.

Something you find adorable about Gokudera: "Oh! You know what's cute about him? You wouldn't know it if you saw him walking around normally, but I think he's a bit of a shy boy?" He freezes quite often when Haru teases him, and it's kind of cute. It's endearing to see him just freeze as if he's in the process of a factory reset. Psst "I'll admit, sometimes I tease him because I find his reactions cute." It'll be a sad day once he stops.

Would you sacrifice yourself for Gokudera?: "Haru was willing to fall from a bridge if it meant Tsuna-san and Lambo-chan would survive. Did you think my answer would change for my boyfriend?" Stupid. "Well, something tells me that he wouldn't let me." He'd also maybe get mad if he were around to hear her say yes. "Sorry, you did say he wouldn't see this interview, right?" What do you mean you reserve your right to remain silent????

Would you go on a date with Gokudera? platonic/romantic: "Hm? What's with the second part?" Haru tilted her head. Was it asking if she'd go on a platonic date or a romantic date with Gokudera? "Mmnn... so if a platonic date is one without romantic feelings, I'd have a problem with that-- since we're together. That alone should suffice for an answer.

One word you would use to describe Gokudera: "Just one word? That's a lot of pressure." Haru thinks about it. There was a lot to Gokudera, so it was kinda rude to task her with summing him up with just one word. He was very devoted to the Vongola. Had a bit of a short-fuse at times. Sometimes, he was a bit slow to certain things. Very loyal, and definitely smart. Stubborn (like she's one to talk), and very hard-working. "Let's go with... admirable."

Would you slap Gokudera if you could?: "Are you asking if I could, would I? Or are you asking me could I even do so?" She waits for the teleprompter to think about it before it reads [both]. "If Haru wanted to slap him, she's sure that she could. I've a swift hand, you know?" She moves her hand, demonstrating the movement. "I wouldn't want to slap him, though. I don't think there is a reason to slap him." There were only a few reasons why Haru would slap someone and Gokudera wasn't one to commit any of those acts. He was as loyal as they come and despite his rough demeanor he wasn't that bad with kids. Never anything slapping-worthy.

Would you hug/kiss Gokudera?: "Of course! I do try to not do so very publicly, so as to not embarrass him or anything." Really, it was more of a, 'it's probably not wise to put your relationships on full display in the mafia-world' kinda thing. It does become a bit of a liability.

For Emi

Your first impression of Emi: "Ah... I think it was when Ayane first introduced her to us?" She had brought a friend over and Haru happened to be there to meet the new face. "She wasn't the most talkative from my recollection. Something about her reminded me of Hayato and Hibari. Something about her demeanor, I guess?"

Current impression: "I can say that she's very like Hibari in many ways, so I wasn't wrong to pick up on that in her demeanor." Haru nods her head sagely, quite proud of herself. "She does-- have a bit of-- mn... how to put it... tension between her and Ame? It can make things a bit awkward at times, but I don't think it's wrong. She's expressing herself and that's fine." Let the young kids express themselves and learn about themselves in the process! Haru was a big advocate of learning through trial and error. "She's a good kid. A bit troubled, it seems, but... I knew another kid who had some troubling behavior and look at him now. He turned out to be a great righthand. "She'll be fine, she has a great friend in Sayuri-chan, and a good mentor." She has an auntie too, if she ever needs Haru for anything.

Are you attracted to Emi?: Haru stares dubiously at the teleprompter. "I'm taken, thank you for asking." Note to self to look into who is asking the questions to have a strong word with them afterwards

Something you find frightening about Emi?: "I do hope that she can find an outlet that can help her destress and organize her emotions. Find a support network that helps her before she explodes and does something she'll regret." It would be such a shame if in a fit of rage she inadvertently does something that can't be repaired. "I fear that she'll feel so isolated and alone that she'll withdraw herself and turn her back against everyone." Though, perhaps that's more worry than fear? Close enough.

Something you find adorable about Emi: "Even if she's not the most talkative nor the most easiest to get to open up, she does try. She's very considerate, you know?" Emi is a good kid who would offer to help a struggling Auntie Haru. It's also cute when she hides her tiny smiles, whenever they happen. She won't say that aloud, though.

Would you sacrifice themselves Emi?: "I'd sacrifice myself for anyone in the Vongola, but especially the kids." It was the duty of the older generation to protect and pave the way for the younger generation. If it came down to it, she'd sacrifice herself for Emi. "Though, I feel like that would be unnecessary. Emi is plenty capable and if she were ever in such dire straights, i'm sure Hibari had something planned as backup."

Would you go on a date with Emi? platonic/romantic: Again, she reminds herself again to find who created these questions so she can have a TALK with them afterwards. What kinds of questions are you asking in relation to young kids? "The better question would be if Emi-chan was open to going on a platonic date with her Auntie Haru."

One word you would use to describe Emi: "The first thing that comes to mind is resilient." Judging by the way she used to lash out more often, it felt as though she'd been through a lot. Still, she was trying to better herself, and she was under the tutelage of the Hibari Kyouya. That's resilience in itself for sure.

Would you slap Emi if you could?: "No, of course not."

Would you hug/kiss Emi?: "Well... if she would allow me... sure." Haru would always want to respect Emi's space and her wishes. If she didn't want any hugs, then she wouldn't get any. (Haru will give them in spirit, though) As for kisses, Haru was a fan of giving kisses on the cheeks or on the forehead, but again-- only if Emi was okay with it.

Copy Cat! ...Or Bear-

[Based on @shifter-au AU. The idea of shape-shifting monsters was too hard to pass up]

It had only been 100 years after Fredbear and Springbonnie had been powered back on. Fredbear had minor memory losses, due to some events on the surface. Unfortunately, he still remembered Charlie's murder... The first death he witnessed before he understood the concept of dying.

Then there was his father’s suicide that stuck with him. Nightmares echo both of their screams.... Henry’s screams and sobs in pain, and Fredbear's own pleas and apologies to his father. Asking if this was death, and begging the poor man not to leave like his little sister did.

Two of the people he loved the most is gone, and have been gone for years. At least he still had his brother, Springbonnie, right?

Wrong... Something happened on the surface while Fredbear was shut off. Springbonnie witnessed his own father being springlocked, and was left in a back room for 30 years. His mind ended up repressing everything, including himself. Mentally, he was a child. Mentally, he was no longer Springbonnie...

He was no longer the bunny Fredbear grew up with. They are gone. Fredbear's younger sibling is gone, but they doesn't realize they need to say goodbye.

Fredbear tried his hardest to love Spring, with all his heart and soul. But this wasn't Spring. This was a stranger, that can't walk, talk, or play. They can't remember the good times he had with their brother...

Fredbear tried everything to make Spring remember, but nothing worked... he just wants the pain to stop...

He walks through Lilygear searching for something. "Hello? Anyone here? Just a fun and LOVEABLE guy passing through!"

This caught something's attention. A dark colored monster shifts into Fredbear's form. "Hello there, stranger..."

"Oh! Heya! Wow... a splitting image. Just like looking in a mirror!"

"Heh, thank you... you said that you were fun and LOVEABLE, didn't you?"

"Yeah, I did. I got a lot of friends back in town that really care about me, and I have my little brother with me too..."

Fredbear sighs sadly. "But... things have been hard with me and my bro... so I'm really happy if found you!"

The other "Fredbear" blinks, and stares at Fredbear for a moment. "Happy? Ha... you have no reason to be happy to see me... do you even have a clue of what I am...?"

The creature smiles, twisting Fredbear's face. Fredbear in turn smiles back kindly. "Yes I do actually. Read up on your kind at the local library. You're a shifter, and you can help me!"

"...what- wait wait wait- I'm confused... how am I going to help you?"

"Well... it's simple really! I'll be your host, and you can take care of Springbonnie! You need to feed on the love of others, and Spring will love you with all his soul!"

"....you ARE aware that as my host you will die, right-"

Fredbear beems. "I know! And that's the best part!"

The shifter is taken back. "....what....?"

"Well... I've been... meaning to uh... well... I'm sure you can guess at this point-"

"But why...? You said that there are people that love and care about you, a-and you have your brother to care for!"

"See... the people I care about the most... They're gone... some in more ways than one... my father and sister... They're both dead... and Spring...? I... I-I can't bring myself to love him anymore... something bad happened, and he factory reset... it's like he's not even the same person...."

He sets Spring down, who starts playing with some dirt. "....not their fault... but I can't love him... it hurts too much... everything hurts nowadays anyways..."

Fredbear smiles at the shifter. "That's where you come in! You'll be able to love him! He can grow up with someone that can care about him! He doesn't deserve me... not with what I really think about him anyways.... he won't notice! A-and he'll get a chance at a happy family!"

Oil droplets form in Fredbear's eyes. "H-hell, I don't think anyone will notice I'm gone! Not as important as they say I am after all... my life ain't much... but you can have it. Not even worth a ball of shitty lint, but h-hey, you'll be fed..."

"Well... if you are certain this is the path you wish to take."

The shifter turns his small paw into sharp claws. "Are you ready...?"

"N-not yet, just give me a moment-"

Fredbear approaches Springbonnie. "Heya bro..."

Spring gently places his paw on Fredbear's face. The tired bear chuckles. "Heh heh... I know I know... ya love me... listen Spring, I know... ya probably don't understand me that well... You're still learning after all.... but.... I care about you... I know I yell a lot, I make ya cry, and I.... I say how much I hate you... I-I sometimes even hurt you when I get mad but... none of that is your fault, but I can't handle it... but, from now on... I'm going to change.... I'm going to be a better brother, and you won't even remember a time when I showed ya any hatred.... I'm so sorry... for everything I've said and done.... I love you more than stars.... I love you more than the sun... from now on, I'm going to make sure ya believe that...."

Oil streams from Fredbear's eyes. Springbonnie gently wipes his tears. Fredbear wraps his arms around Springbonnie, giving him the tightest bear hug he can muster. ".....You're the greatest brother I could've ever had... I'm going to return the favor... if ya ever find out what I did... I'm sorry, but this is the last bit of true love for you I could give...."

He nuzzles Spring's head, and releases from the hug. He turns Springbonnie around, who goes back to playing in the dirt. Fredbear re-approaches the shifter. "Ok... think I'm good now. Ready when you are..."

Fredbear shuts his eyes tight, as the shifter raises his claw. Dust fills th air, and disperses. Fredbear goes to pick up Spring. "...I promise "bro"... I'm going to take good care of you..."

Fredbear leaves for home carrying Spring, leaving some clothing and dust behind....

As if Dream had been watching and listening in, and he was, he tagged Bad in the back with a foam rock and knocked him to the side as he ran past.

“Boys, boys,” Big Q smiled as Nate and Phantom were dragged in front of the mob boss by Sam and Purpled. “I thought we were done with all this.”

“Maybe if you weren’t causing trouble we would be,” Nate spat as he and Phantom shrugged off the people dragging him in. “Where’s Mad and Mare, you sick sadist.”

“Oh gentlemen,” Big Q grinned. “I haven’t done anything to them. Haven’t even touched a hair on their heads.”

“Bull,” Phantom told him, the vampire’s eyes turning red in anger. “You’ve got five seconds—”

“Easy now, big guy,” Big Q pulled out a thin stake of wood twisted from long wild rose stalks. “Let’s not get too hasty. I’ve got a job for you boys.”

“What is it?” Nate asked hesitantly. Even thinking about taking a job from Big Q made his skin crawl.

“Well, you see,” Big Q smiled as one of his associates, Fundy, raced in with a white fox right behind him to hand the individual some papers. “Oh thanks, kid.”

Fundy smiled brightly as Big Q looked back at them. “There’s this little group that’s been causing trouble for me for a while now and—”

CHANNEL 2

“Well I didn’t suspect this would happen!” The Director spat at Google.

“Well maybe you should have stopped at making the first one!” Google spat in return.

Outside the bubbles, as the light and rubble cleared enough for the heroes that hadn’t been snatched up by the bubbles, were standing in the ruins of the gazebo. Each of the bubbles was at least the size of a house, the biggest were the size of a five-story building.

“The fuck was that?” Silver shouted. He was standing with J.J and Jackie.

“Silver!” Oliver was running over to them with Mini’s drive. “I can’t contact Bing!”

“You okay?” Silver asked, flying over. Mini came out of his drive and looked around frantically.

“Yes but Bing is off our network, along with the other Googles,” Oliver told them.

“That’s probably because none of ‘em[1] have any type of service or connection.” Someone was calling down to them from the top of the ruins of the gazebo. He was in a white hoodie and was looking down at them.

“Great,” Jackie spat as he braced for a fight. Two other people emerged from seemingly nowhere, someone with a red and white cameo mask, and a woman who had roses physically growing out of her hair. “We’re busy.”

“Name’s Punz,” the man in a white hoodie gestured to himself. “These are Ponk and Hannah.”

“We’re fookin’[2] busy,” Jackie spat. “What part ‘a that didn’t yeh Servers fooks get?”[3]

Punz sighed and rolled his eyes, “Well normally I don’t care what you chumps do, unless I’m paid to care. But my paycheck just got sucked into one of those bubbles and I want to get him back out.”

“Who, Dream?” Silver asked. “How long has he been here?”

Punz sighed. “Some of us happened to be in the area. Most of us are still in the Serve though. But Dream and the others who were nearby during the ceremony got grabbed.”

“How many?” Silver asked, looking at the bubbles.

“About half of us, if you include Techno and Phil, and Dream does,” Punz told him. “Okay, look, I don’t care about your team, the issue is that Dream pays me, and I like having a job so I’m going to drag him back out so he can keep wiring me money. Besides, my brother’s in there.”

“Okay so we’ll start tryin’ ta pop those fookers,”[4] Jackie decided, Silver flew up to try and get inside the closest bubble but it just bounced him back.

“Ponk,” Punz called out.

“I’m no Skeppy,” Ponk said, a book appearing in hand, “but I can make do. ‘Sides[5], Foolish is in there somewhere.”

J.J walked over to Ponk to look at the book, his pocket watch in hand as he anchored himself in a spot to start turning back time if he needed it.

The mute hero was signing to Ponk as the mage was starting to cast spells. “Hmmmm~ That one?” Ponk asked and J.J nodded.

“Who’d you find?” Punz asked, looking at the bubble.

“Don’t know, but there are four people in there,” Ponk said. “It’s not the smallest but it’s already weakening.”

Oliver seemed to realize something. “Wait, Host gave me something right before the wedding.”

“So he did think somethin’[6] was happenin’[7],” Jackie frowned.

The yellow android pulled out a box and opened it to see a note and the blue solid state drive that they had seen a couple months ago helping to power a generator with Logan’s soul inside.

On the note read:

Replace Bing’s drive with this. The bubbles are little small realities. Target weaker ones to make the stronger bubbles pop.

“That’s not good,” Oliver told them, his voice sounding rattled. “Why would Bing need his drive replaced?”

“What does his drive do?” Silver asked.

“Bing’s central drive is like a human brain, it can’t just be switched out and I don’t know what’s in this thing.”

“So let’s find Bing and figure out what’s wrong,” Silver told him.

“Okay,” Ponk spoke up. “I think I can get it open but I don’t know what’s going to happen when we get in there.

Hannah circles her hand and the ground turned into a massive rose as Ponk and J.J opened up the bubble. It didn’t pop, but it was open just long enough for them to jump in.

CHANNEL 2

It was a dark, neon-lit city that looked like Egoton. But the group appeared in some official-looking military room.

Google was arguing with the Director with Red and Green right behind him.

“Oliver?” Green gasped in surprise. “You’re alive?”

Google rushed over to Mini and forced a power down and stowed his drive away.

“Where’s Bing?” Oliver asked.

“This cretin factory reset Bing!” Google glared at the Director.

Oliver looked at them in horror.

“What?” Oliver took a step back.

“Yeh[8] what?!” Jackie spat in an absolute fury. “He was a person! Yeh[8] killed him.”

“He was a faulty computer program who wasn’t even doing his job,” the General snapped.

Google hit his limit and shot the Director right between the eyes. All the organic beings in the room startled and yelled in surprise.

“What did you do?” Silver stared at him in horror.

“That was for what he did to Bing!” Google snarled.

Oliver pulled out the drive he’d been given from the Host, “The Host gave me this, he told me to replace Bing’s drive with it.”

“Why? What’s on it?” Google demanded.

“I don’t know, but if Bing’s already been reset then it couldn’t harm him anymore than the humans already have.” Oliver was desperate, frantic.

“Let’s just find him,” Silver said, glancing down at the Director and he realized he wasn’t sure if the man was real or not.

Fortunately, the group didn’t have to go far because Bing came to them. Or at least what was left of him. It was Bing as he normally looked, minus the dark sunglasses, his eyes a glowing, angry orange. His usual stance was far more upright and tense, and any humor was gone.

“Bing?” Oliver whispered fearfully.

“Memesis Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta,” Bing said in a fully robotic tone, his usual way of speaking was also gone, “you will submit yourself for a factory reset or be terminated.”

Silver looked around the room, it was too enclosed, there were too many people. When the Google androids didn’t do what Bing wanted he moved to attack them, Google moving in front of Oliver to protect him.

Jackie tried to race in to help and was barely fast enough to avoid getting his leg crushed by the malevolent android.

Silver was trying to keep Bing off of Jackie or anyone else more breakable but he realized something with grim certainty: Bing was going to start killing people.

Silver flew back to get some distance and speed and then snapped forward in an instant the bubble popped and they were back on the ground where they had all started. Bing’s mechanical body arced and jolted as Silver held the mangled and destroyed remains of Bing’s central drive in his hand.

“No!” Google shouted in horror, everyone just staring at Silver in horror. The android raced forward, aiming to crush Silver’s neck in his hands but Silver flew out of the way.

“We have a replacement drive,” Silver reminded him. “I wouldn’t have done that if we didn’t have that drive.”

“I don’t know what’s on that!” Google roared, pulling out lazers and trying to murder Silver.

Oliver came behind Google and began looking Bing over, a look of panic and fear on his face.

“He was still physically there, if that drive doesn’t contain his personality there’s no way to rebuild him,” Google snarled.

“The rest of his core is intact,” Oliver announced, “we just need to fix some wires.”

Google stopped and looked back at Oliver, trying to not look at Bing’s remains. “Fine, try it.”

Then the android glared at Silver, “If this doesn’t work, Silver, I will destroy every atom of your body.”

“Right,” Silver told him but still kept his distance.

“The only thing this world had going for it was that Bing loved it,” Google told him as he knelt down next to Oliver who was frantically trying to repair the frayed wires and crushed metal.

Google pulled out the drive and just stared at it. His nanites helped to print and construct materials.

Jackie raced over to Silver, keeping an eye on Google. “We need ta[9] find Logic,” Jackie told Silver, “maybe if we do he can help—”

At that moment, there was a little sound and Bing’s little orange accent lights came online and everyone braced for another attack but after a couple more minutes, Bing got up and looked around.

“Googs? What are— Where am I?” Bing looked confused, his voice back to normal, before he looked alarmed as he checked the day’s date. “The drive?”

Google began to fret over Oliver, “Do you have any faulty programs? Glitches? Did that drive have any malware attached to it?”

“I’m running a diagnostic right now, dude,” Bing told him. “Give me a minute.”

“So what was the deal with that drive, thought Logic would have broken that thing?” Silver asked.

“Dunno,”[10] Bing shrugged. “Host had me use that drive that Spade trapped Lo in, said I would need ta[9] make a backup of myself an’[11] that it had enough room. Guess he was right. Might need ta[9] be filled on everything that happened for the past couple ‘a[12] months.”

Ponk and J.J tore open another bubble, a rumbling shock rippled out towards the other bubbles.

“Show time!” Punz called out.

“Bing is staying with me,” Google ordered. “And if you can find Logic I want him here too.”

“Yeah, havin’[13] all the brainiacs together is prolly[14] fer[15] the best,” Jackie agreed.

“Let’s go!” Punz said and Hannah began to construct another rose to jettison them up, making Silver and Jackie race after them as they jumped into another bubble.

Do you know what Hordak is? Hordak is a clone of the Emperor of the known universe, Horde Prime.

He was grown in a vat, had no childhood whatsoever and was treated as a drone. He was allowed no name. Hordak never had thoughts to himself because Horde Prime can enter a clone’s mind and read them. A clone of Horde Prime has no privacy of thought because their minds can literally be read telepathically and by touch, if Horde Prime can’t do it remotely.

This clone, and millions of others like him, aren’t allowed to have a will of their own.

They were made for the purpose of warfare and if they show any kind of weakness or defect, they are either reconditioned until functionality is restored or sent to die on the battlefield. The drones/clones are conditioned and created for the soul purpose of war and conquest and live to only be an extension of Horde Prime’s will and nothing more.

Rae Geiger: … one of the concepts behind Prime is that he upgrades himself with his clones. They’re stock to him. He wants them all to be uniform by his standard, but he wants a little “extra” for himself to establish his superiority, his interesting-ness above them. So if he wants some extra eyes purely for the aesthetic, some clone(s) are going to give up a piece.

These clones, including Hordak, are nothing more than stock to him. clone-chattel.

Slaves.

They have no choice but to follow him and are conditioned during the start of their lives to be loyal to their master and do his bidding until they die.

That’s their life. They don’t choose this, they don’t have the option of doing what they want to do in their lives. They don’t even have the concept of self and a will of their own. They aren’t given the ability to learn about thinking independently of Horde Prime’s will. Horde Prime makes them in his image and if he see’s that they have become an “abomination” he will have them reborn. And that entails them getting violated by Horde Prime via hair-tendril, have that needled cable jabbed into the base of their neck/USB Port and have their entire life up until that point be deleted. Then they’re reset to factory settings and then get sent to be reconditioned.

Horde Prime is their God and he is a wrathful and merciless one. *************************

"Hordak" became faulty after years of service due to a defect he had no control over and was thrown away by the only person he was ever supposed to love and serve. The only person the clone cared about(because he was conditioned to be a servant to Horde Prime and was made for that only purpose) sent him to die. And he was supposed to die, until an errant portal threw him into Etheria.

Hordak knew it was his fault that he was thrown away, that he was a failure and imperfect. And he hated himself for that. He hated being an imperfect failure and that his own faults caused his misfortune.

Hordak still loved Horde Prime, because that’s what he was manufactured for, and wanted to conquer Etheria and open a portal to the outside universe to prove himself and Horde Prime wrong and that he wasn’t worthless and to go back to Horde Prime’s side. Hordak only wanted to go back to the way things used to be, and only wanted to serve his master once again. Hordak is a designer slave, purposefully constructed to love Horde Prime and be an extension of his will.

He did cause the deaths of possibly hundreds of thousands in the name of Horde Prime, I’m not going to deny or sugarcoat it. But, for Hordak, that was all he knew. The only thing he was ever taught in life was how to wage war and conquer in the name of his brother. He created the Etherian Horde, for Horde Prime. He wanted Etheria to become a gift for his brother and to show HP that he was still useful.

Horde Prime is an abusive family member and Hordak is the abused person who still tries to prove his worth to his abuser. And for the longest time, he had no one but Horde Prime to look up to and respect.(Because, again, he was manufactured for Horde Prime use)

Until he met Entrapta.

She was the one who came into his life. She was the one who demanded Hordak tell her everything he was doing AFTER she broke into his lab. And you know what, Hordak told her exactly what he was going to do. He never lied to her. He told her he was building a portal that was to be used for Etherian conquest. She still helped him build the portal machine though.

But you know what else she did, she helped him with his chronic condition and validated him as a person(something he never got in the Horde and under Horde Prime). She made him armor to help his mobility and told Hordak his imperfections are beautiful. She looked at his body and wasn’t disgusted by it, or called him a worthless defect. She seen the real him and decided that he was great just the way he was.

They also became equals, Hordak listened to her suggestions, theories and infodumps. Gave her credit where credit was due and treated her with respect. He even saved her from the exploding portal machine and did so when he knew his old armor was failing him.

They both validated the other and respected each other as equals. Hordak found someone who looked at all his defects and found him still worthy as a person. Entrapta found someone who listened to her and didn’t find her mannerisms annoying. You have to remember, she’s been alive for 20something+ years, and no one’s ever listened to her theories until recently.

She found someone who became her friend too.

“There was even a time you wished I would not come for you, is that so?” Horde Prime

Hordak found himself back in Horde Prime’s court and when his Lord tried to mind-meld with him remotely, Horde Prime found out he couldn’t do it. So he had to physically touch Hordak to read his thoughts. He then discovered that one of his clones, one of his slaves, actually had the thought of hoping his master would not come looking for him. Hordak broke his conditioning (after 135 days of hanging out with Entrapta and them both working as equals) and was in the process of leaving Horde Prime and going with what he wanted to do, for once in his life.

Hordak was ready to break away from his toxic environment/Horde Prime and stay in a place that said he was perfect the way he was and that failures aren’t something to be destroyed and are a natural part of science that creates further understanding and growth.

Entrapta caused a clone slave, a person who was genetically designed to love/be loyal to Horde Prime only, to actually desire leaving his master. She validated him as a person and he was willing to grow away from his environment, away from Horde Prime. Entrapta didn’t redeem him, but she gave him something important. A healthy environment for which Hordak could grow away from the toxic thoughts Horde Prime saddled him with since his “birth”.

You don’t become a good person alone. You don’t magically start out as a good person with holy morals from birth. You learn good and bad things from your environment and if you live in a bad environment you become toxic. Having a way out of a toxic place, is key to helping someone unlearn bad behavior and become a better person.

You also have to have people that care about you too, you can’t just do it on your own and do it alone. You have to have a support base, someone to help you. You have to have a friend.

The person needing to change has to make the conscious decision to get themselves out of a toxic environment, but having a friend who validates them as a person and treats them as a worthy individual makes the transition a whole lot easier.

Entrapta is a person who was wanting to help a friend and validated him as a person. Something Hordak never had in his life. And that validation of personhood caused a clone slave to actually break his programming and Hordak desired to be left alone by his master.

Hordak wished that Horde Prime would never bother with him. HE wanted Horde Prime to stay away from him now. HE didn’t want Horde Prime anymore.

There was a hand holding out for him to take, and instead of ignoring it, Hordak was ready to take it. Hordak was ready to crawl out of the muck Horde Prime covered him with since the start of his “birth”.

Hordak was finally at a crossroad, one road was still the path Horde Prime designed for him to walk on and one his body and mind were made for. But now, there was a different road, something newly created that said “You’re more than what your Creator made you to be.” And Hordak, with “LUVD” in his chest and someone willing and eager to walk with him on this new path, was ready to go in this new direction.

Until Catra quite literally electrocuted Entrapta in the back after the latter told the former the portal would cause the end of the world and wanted the experiment stopped and then sent her to Beast Island to die, just so Entrapta wouldn’t tell the truth about how dangerous the portal really was and convince Hordak not to open it.

Catra then lied to Hordak about Entrapta betraying him for the princesses and then started taunting him about how bad it would be if his “Big Brother” seen how badly Hordak was failing and how pleased Big Brother would be when he conquered Etheria.

190: My 1st job was: lifeguard in the summer after 9th or 10th grade i think? it was decently fun. i grew up swimming competitively so the swimming part was a breeze. the remembering what to do if someone is drowning part? a bit harder. memory bad. what to do if someone has a potential broken spine/head injury when they’re in deep water? i don’t know bud. but it involves 3 whole people to get them out. 2 in the water, one person at all times holding their head in line with the rest of their body, the other one strapping them to the board (these two people in the water switch off, too) and then one person standing on the side of the pool looking very concerned. also don’t tell anyone but sometimes if i had like a 6 am shift i would get really groggy and almost fall asleep on the stand.

D&D One Shot - Getting Meta

I have a one shot coming up, and I decided to do something fun. We are all reletively new to DnD 5e, and I want to push some rules barriers to do something fun or silly.

So I'm pulling from some of my favorite video games (Cuphead, Undertale, Animal Crossing (a bit) and a few others) to make a bizarre little one shot campaign.

Its a string of boss fights with a framing narrative. Here's how it goes:

Welcome to the

Land of the Dead!

Sorry about your untimely demise (inspiration to whoever has the funniest death story.)

The heroes meet two 'pixies', Mixie and Trixie, who teach them how things work. Each boss has a Soul And Vitality Exit Point (or SAVE Point) before you arrive, and you have 4... 3 lives (explained later).

Since you're already dead, if you die again you reconstitute at the last save point. If you run out of lives... you cease to exist!

Then Mixie and Trixie "show them how this world works" by making a save point and killing them all instantly and show they are evil fiends of some sort.

The heroes are saved by The Dullihan, who intervenes as he is the defender of the realm. The rules of the Land of the Dead says each person has a chance to redeem themselves if they're a true hero. With a warning to either not break the rules, or break them all the way, The Dullihan leaves.

The first boss is in a factory where they make the pieces to dungeons and have recruitment for monsters to stock them.

The head of monster resources is a man named John Lichfield, who is the local union rep. John died without his phylactery coming to the land of the dead so he is truely immortal. His boss fight is a survival round, as the players have to survive a 9-5 shift, (each round being an hour, so they have to survive 8 rounds, one of which is a lunch break.) The option comes to either support John's union plan or stage him in an idustrial accident.

After the dungeon factory is the Eternal Dance Crypt (Disco never dies). In here, Lady Dread makes sure the party never stops.

The floor is coded with colored sqares and as Lady Dread steps on respective squares, the ones on the dance floor damage any who are on them. (Players have to learn how to hold actions so they can move in responce.) Once she gets bored, Lady Dread would come down and fight directly while a lazer light show shoots down.

In the end, the players can choose to go to the after pary or leave Lady Dread alone again.

Then there is 1 and 0, two robots powered by ghosts who possess the golem bodies. One looks like Robby the Robot while the other looks like a Robot Lilliput.

Each one has an immunity for 2 of the 4: slashing, peircing, bludgeoning, spells. Every rounnd they switch immunities at random. (Symbols are displayed on their screens.) 1 has to be hit in incremental amounts every time (if is number says 1, he has to be hit once). 0 has to only be hit once a round, but his AC goes up by +1 every round.

Once that goes for 10 or so rounds, they switch their screens to numbers. One can only be hit by even rolls on attacks, and the other by odds.

1 was a stand up comedian and keeps telling bad puns and jokes as it fights. 0 was a drama actor with depression, and always seems to be quoting Hamlet. In life they were robotic but now in death they are living.

The players can either watch their 2 man show or shut them down permanently.

If at any time the players break the game rules, then they find the secret boss gL1+(H. They are reprimanded for "Breaking Rules" or "Breaking the Game" which causes a physical crack in the reality.

They have horrendiously powerful attacks and can use legendary actions to hit automatically for the rest of the round once they hit once. (Undo, Redo). They can also make physical copies of objects and let them fall on the heroes. (Ctrl + C, Ctrl +V, Ctrl + V, etc...). They can flip gravity and do a lot of other bizarre moves.

They are in bizarre suits with four floating hands with no arms. Their mouth is filled with razor shsrp teeth and the top part of their head is a constant swirl of error messages.

Then there are two boss fights depending on their choices:

The Dullihan - "Bad Ending"

If the players cause hurt and pain to the bosses, The Dullihan fights them. He legitmatly cheats, moving out of the way from attacks, deflecting ranged projectiles, making attacks that cant be dodged.

The only way to stop him is to break the area with glitch cracks, made by the players cheating as well.

The Dullihan: "You came here to be something you aren't: heroes. And only heroes get happy endings."

The Dead Angels - Mixie and Trixie "Good Ending"

The pixies reveal why they want to kill the players. If they die, and the level never ends, theres always a chance the game gets played again.

But if the heroes win, the one shot ends and everything they know is gone. Around them are the wrecks of other past games, now dying.

Their second form is the image of two angels with metal chains peircing their flesh, tying them together. They attack like angels and have a few legendary actions they can take, including resetting the players to the save point and then attacking them.

When all hope looks lost, or when the angels die and go to take the heroes with them, all the bosses they helped come in to aid them. The bosses say goodbye, with the comfort in knowing they had such a good time. And nothing lasts forever.

The Bonded Angel: "WE WILL KILL YOU ALL. FOR ALL ETERNITY. OUR IMMORTALITY IS PAVED IN YOUR DEATHS."
