now i’m not gonna self diagnose and say i have borderline personality disorder but i Do think it’s a problem regardless that on all of the online questionnaires i stated that i frequently/almost always “feel empty inside”. like whether that’s a symptom of bpd or not, there’s something not good about that right

I hope you can answer this question,
How would the family group chat pop off when Araminta suffers an unfortunate accident?
BSSG Group Chat
Michael: Hey @ Sophie Franny's just told me after Greg told her that Hy told him that Daph told her that El told her that Ben told her that Arabitcha's in hospital? Is it true? 👀
Gareth: please be true 🙏
Gareth: even if it's a sprained ankle or something weak like that
Simon: Yeah so long as she's suffering ✨✨✨
Phillip: Last El heard they're still at the hospital with Posy and Hugh
Lucy: omg she went to the hospital????
Kate: Only for moral support for Posy!
Kate: No way in hell would she be there otherwise.
Penelope: Yeah Ben wouldn't let her step one foot in that hospital if it wasn't for the purposes of being there for Posy.
Gareth: well maybe with ben being there her life support could be "accidentally" pulled out
Simon: Yeah or her LVAD wire being cut.
Gareth: the fuck's an lvad wire?
Simon: You've never watched Greys Anatomy?
Gareth: you watch greys anatomy?
Simon: Daph watches it and tells me all about it.
Michael: Oh really? Is that so?
Michael: Because I definitely seem to recall you having an in-depth discussion with Franny about the show.
Lucy: yeah I remember that!!!!!!
Simon: ...
Simon: Ok fine! Daph got me into it, I didn't want to like it, then I convinced myself I liked it ironically, but now I guess I have to accept that I actually like it unironically. You happy now?
Michael:
Tumblr media
Gareth:
Tumblr media
Penelope: 🤭
Kate: 😂😂😂
Simon: fuck off @ Gareth don't act like Hy doesn't make you sit and watch drag race with her
Gareth:
Tumblr media
Phillip: If it's any consolation I willingly watch Love Island with El
Phillip: There's something so endlessly fascinating about good looking people having to actually make an effort with each other when they're all used to being the ones being pursued in the real world.
Kate: Hang on Eloise watches Love Island?!?!
Kate: I could have sworn she said she hates dating shows like that
Penelope: She very much does but it doesn't stop her from watching them obsessively
Phillip: I could lie and say she hate-watches them or even watches them unironically but deep down she loves them.
Penelope: Very much so
Penelope: But she will absolutely deny it if you bring it up so don't bother
Kate: Believe me I wouldn't dare raise any subject with Eloise that could result in her vehemently getting defensive for 10+ minutes
Phillip: That's fair
Michael: Well I watch Say Yes to the Dress - and I was the one who got Franny into it
Lucy:
Tumblr media
Michael: Oh come on I don't mention it that often!
Phillip: Did you completely forget the time you invited us round for a boys night and made us watch back to back episodes of it and nothing else?
Simon: surely you must be aware that your love of Say Yes to the Dress is absolutely no secret whatsoever
Michael:
Tumblr media
Sophie: Yeah you've sent me screenshots of dresses you think I might like if Ben and I were ever to renew our vows.
Kate: Same here! You even add suggestions for dresses for a vow renewal on the beach, in a rustic barn
Kate: Omg Sophie
Kate: What's happened?
Michael: What's Arabitcha in hospital for?
Gareth: please be something that inconveniences her the most 🙏
Penelope: yeah please let it be more than a sprained ankle 🤞
Simon: Wishing nothing but the worst for her 🙌
Sophie: Well
Sophie:
Tumblr media
Lucy:
Tumblr media
Phillip: Wa
Phillip: Wait fr?
Kate: Omfg are you serious
Michael: Say more now
Penelope: @ Sophie WHAT IS TAKING YOU SO LONG TO CONFIRM OR DENY
Simon: CONFIRM OR DENY
Gareth: sophie please istg
Sophie: She's seriously actually dead for real fr.
Gareth: and to think i was worried it would be a sprained ankle at best
Gareth:
Tumblr media
Michael: Holy shit
Lucy: how did it happen???
Sophie: I just want to state for the record that Ben didn't pull her life support plug or cut her LVAD wire.
Kate: That's a shame for Ben, he'd have loved to have been given the opportunity.
Gareth: hy too
Sophie: She was actually being her absolutely lovely self and having a go at some poor shop assistant demanding to speak to their manager or whatever and she literally dropped down dead mid-rant.
Penelope: omg
Gareth: she really went
Gareth:
Tumblr media
Phillip: So she died the way she lived
Kate: Being a bitch right to the very end
Simon: What I'd give to have been there to witness that
Michael: Maybe if there's CCTV in the shop we can ask the owners if they could be so very kind to send us the footage
Penelope: Is Posy ok? Obvs she was a bitch to her too but is she feeling any sort of way about it?
Sophie: When we were told she did start to cry but then we realised her sobs were actually laughter and she was hysterically cackling with relief and she said "well thank fuck for that"
Phillip: Oh I was the same when my dad died
Simon: Same just minus the tears
Lucy: And how are you feeling about it all @ Sophie ?
Sophie: I don't know really
Sophie: I sort of don't feel anything?
Sophie: Maybe it hasn't sunk in yet, like I haven't properly processed the fact she's actually gone, but yeah right now I'm just of sort like eh, you know?
Michael: I think that's to be expected.
Phillip: She put you through shit and was nothing but awful to you but because of who you are you've naturally always been the bigger person and taken the high road, you haven't let her diminish your self worth and you've gone on to live a wonderful life that she could only dream of having. Whether you process her death and feel any type of way about it or still feel eh, you're always going to be better than her in every possible way; so don't you dare feel bad about yourself for feeling any sort of relief or joy from her passing.
Michael: 👏👏👏
Kate: Exactly what he said ↑
Simon: And like Phil said, don't you dare for a second feel guilty for celebrating her death
Penelope: And even if you want to be the bigger person and not celebrate, we'll all celebrate on your behalf don't you worry
Sophie: I really appreciate it guys 🤗💖💖💖
Sophie: And if you'd all like to go ahead and send your celebratory reaction gifs and memes please be my guest x

Gareth: hy's ecstatic btw
Gareth: and is claiming full responsibility
Gareth sent a photo
Lucy: omg is that voodoo doll????????
Penelope: Why am I not even remotely surprised
Gareth: according to her she threw it down hard on the floor a few hours ago
Gareth: and now that she's dead naturally hy believes it's all down to her
Kate: Just so long as she doesn't start making dolls for every single person who wrongs her or anyone in the family. We don't want her getting any ideas.
Gareth: yeah tell that to the doll she made of my dad and is currently slamming against the wall 💀

read this before interacting with my posts
Liam’s fingers were trembling slightly, and yet he was still smiling like it was nothing.
It was sad, tragic, and helplessly pitiable.
I reached my hand out and gently touched Liam’s smiling face.
Liam: … Kate?
Kate: … Liam, please don't smile.
Kate: Forcing a smile is an act of kindness towards the people around you, but you’re not being kind to yourself.
Liam: That’s… what I said to you before.
Kate: … That’s right. You said that to me, and yet you’re trying so hard to smile.
From the moment we met, Liam had told me many things and treated me with kindness.
I was saved by him, who told me with a carefree smile that the real me is precious.
(I wanted to help people bravely face what their tomorrow would bring.)
(But I couldn't erase the fears of the person who meant the most to me and was right in front of me.)
I felt guilty, but I knew that regret would do nothing to make things better.
— That’s enough.
If that’s the case, then all I can do is look into his eyes and say it over and over again.
Kate: … Hey, Liam. The world has never been kind to you, has it?
I remembered the way his face looked when he was talking while he stared at the crimson sky.
= Flashback Start =
Liam: Sometimes, I wish that all the sad things in the world will disappear.
Liam: How nice would it be if this were a world where no one has to shed a tear.
Liam: I’m not as intelligent as Will or Harry, so I don't know the complications, but…
Liam: Perhaps deep down in my heart, I wondered if such a world would exist after “fighting evil with evil”.
= Flashback End =
(You know more than anyone else that the world will never be free from sadness, and yet you still hoped for it.)
(This is the kind of person you are.)
Kate: Truthfully speaking, I want to make your world a kinder place.
Liam: … Make my world kinder?
Kate: Yes. I want to turn it into a world where not a single painful thing exists, and nothing can hurt you.
Kate: However, as much as I really want to do that… I can’t.
(Because I can’t change what has already happened in the past.)
(Your curse and episodes may never disappear.)
For the rest of his life, Liam had to live with the core of heart battered and crumbling.
Liam may not see life as a figure of hope, but rather a figure of hopelessness.
Kate: The world may not always be kind to you.
Kate: Living in such a world might be harder for you to do than anything else.
I held Liam’s hand that was trembling on the bed.
Kate: However…
Kate: I don’t regret saving your life that night.
Tumblr media
Liam: …
Kate: And I won’t ever regret it. Absolutely not.
Liam’s eyes widened and his brows knitted together.
Liam: … You will.
Liam: You have to regret it… it’s useless. Kate. Think about it, why did you save someone like me!
When I shook my head in response, Liam gasped like he was getting anxious.
Liam: I just told you how horrible I can get when I’m having an episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liam: And haven't you personally witnessed me doing something terrifying? You were even soaked in blood…
Kate: Yeah. … I remember that clearly.
Liam: Then… why?
The longer I stared at Liam, the more his eyes shook anxiously like those of a lost child.
Even so, I couldn't look away.
Liam: Right. Do you know that when I first approached you, it was only for my own benefit?
Liam: I just wanted to be needed by you, so I could feel good about myself. It wasn't out of kindness, it was because of my twisted desire to be acknowledged.
Kate: … That’s how you saw it, but it was kindness to me.
Liam: …
Liam: And also… I can’t taste anything I eat, I can’t sleep well at night either. Haha… I’m truly broken beyond repair.
Liam: I’m right next to you, even though I don't deserve you. And yet, I was the one who got close to you in the first place… how ironic.
Liam: … I know for sure that I’ll end up hurting you if I stay by your side any longer, Kate.
Liam: To me, that…
Liam: … Scares me more than hurting myself.
Liam: I’ll fall into despair again if I hurt you and see your sad face.
Liam: Everything, all of it, they scare me…
(Ah…)
(Liam is so willing to hurt himself in order to protect me.)
(He’s used to being hurt, alone, and unloved.)
(It’s… so extreme.)
And Liam’s heart would always be lonely and hurt.
(If you're keeping me away from you to protect me, then I’ll protect you by getting closer to you.)
Words weren't enough to express my feelings, so I gently pressed my lips to the back of Liam’s hand that I was still holding in mine.
His hand quivered, and I heard him gasp.
Liam: … Kate… what are you doing…
I looked up to see Liam staring at me in fear.
I cupped his cheeks in my hands and pressed two kisses on his eyelids, in hopes that I could get rid of the fears hidden behind those eyes, even just a little.
Liam: Kate…
Then his rose coloured hair.
His beautifully shaped ears.
And his cheeks where his long eyelashes cast shadows on.
Kate: … Liam, look at me.
Liam: … Mm.
Our eyes met, and then our lips.
I slowly broke the kiss and to stop Liam from disappearing, I gently trapped him in my embrace.
Kate: You said that you hurt me, but I’m certain that I’ll hurt you as well.
To be deeply in love with someone can also mean hurting them.
Kate: Not just right now, but from this moment on, over and over again.
Kate: It’s not possible to be together with someone without ever hurting them. Therefore…
Liam: …?
Kate: Can we look each other in the eyes, talk it out, and start over whenever that happens?
Kate: Can we live in the present moment together, and look forward to our tomorrows…?
Liam: Tomorrow…?
(Because you said that you liked how I’m always looking forward to tomorrow.)
Kate: Yes. If you’re scared of what your tomorrows will bring…
Kate: Then, starting from tomorrow, I’ll always be reaching out to you.
(It doesn't matter if it’s merely a show of courage. I believe in tomorrow and I will look forward to it.)
Kate: Therefore…
Kate: Please live.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liam: …
Kate: For me, who loves you.
(And someday… for yourself.)
Liam: You’re… being too nice to me…
Liam hesitantly wrapped his arms around me and returned the hug.
When I reach my hand out to him starting tomorrow, he might still not hold it.
However,
I felt that having my hand serve as a sign of hope was the only way.

The Day I almost lost my World
Kate Bishop x Reader
It was a bright Saturday morning, and I was out on my usual morning run around central park. My plan was to take Lucky, but we all know that dog isn't much of a runner, despite being a golden retriever. I was walking back to Kate and my apartment when outside my door, probably about to barge in is my sister with not so many boundaries Yelena Belova. "What's up Lena, did you need something?" I say as I move past her to unlock the door. "Sestra you might need to sit down for this" she says with a uncharacteristic soft tone. We walk through the door to find lucky the lazy pizza dog and my girlfriend Kate on the couch watching tv. "Hey babe, I'm home and oh yeah Lena's here for some reason." With those words Lucky jumped off the couch and was bound for my sister. "Wow thanks lucky, just ignore your other mom over here." Kate then walks over and pulled me into a kiss "Don't worry Y/N, I missed you.' Just then Yelena cleared her throat and focused her attention back on me and away from the furry betrayer. "Y/N we really need to talk about the file in my hand. We also may want to do it in private, I don't think you want Kate knowing anything."
We both turned to my sister who had an expression I couldn't exactly read, sadness, guilt and maybe a flash of anger. "Well, you didn't use Kate's full name, so this must be serious. Though I think Kate can stay, since we have no secrets." I said the last part proudly and full of adoration looking at Kate. "Y/n is right, no secrets between us that's what great couples do. So, come on what's the big secret my future sister in law" Yelena then grimaces "Alright for starters gross and lastly, Sestra are you sure you want Kate here. It's about someone who you wouldn't want her knowing about." I sigh and hold out my hand "Yelena I'm sure it's fine, just please trust me and give me the file." She looks at the file and back at me "Before I do, Y/N it's about Abigail I think she's alive." I look back at her angrily "I told you to never bring her name up again, you know what happened Yelena she can't be alive she-" I cut myself off closing my eyes trying not to picture one of the worst and best days of my life. "Y/N, this file was at my door this morning and inside is a few pictures and it looks to be her, its Abigail she's alive." I take the file from her hands and open it not wanting to believe what was inside was true, until I looked at the pictures. Just then Kate says in a low tone "If it's alright, can I ask who she is?" Yelena gaze remains on me holding the file with a blank expression. "Abigail was Y/N first love and girlfriend, she was in the red room with us." Yelena then turns to Kate "Don't worry though Kate bishop I much prefer you, then her for my sister. I never really liked her anyway."
My eyes then snap up and meet Yelena's as I throw the file on the kitchen table. "I'm going for a walk to clear my head alone." I then turn to grab my jacket and start heading to the door. "Y/N, you better not be going to try and find her." I turn to face my sister with a scowl "No mom I'm not and so what if I am. What does it matter to you?" She then meets my gaze and matches my expression "Don't give me any attitude dear sister I'm older which makes me the one in charge remember. Which means you're not allowed to go looking for her especially not without me." Just then Kate chimes in "Alright, I think we all need to take a minute and sit down." I keep my gaze locked on Yelena "I'm an adult you can't be in charge of me anymore, it's not your job. I'm going after Abbie, by myself and I'll be back in a while."
I turn to leave, before Yelena stands in my way with her arm raised "Sestra please, just stay here while we make a plan." I look at her and laugh, "Really Lena you're going to what, shoot me with a widow bite if I don't stay here. Who's the mature one now." Kate then gets Infront of us and hold up her arms "Y/N and Yelena please just stop and listen." I keep my gazed locked on Yelena "Move and stay out of this Kate. This is between Yelena and me." Yelena then chimes in, " We both know who the mature one is and if Tasha was here, she would be on my side." I then raise my arms aiming over Kate's shoulder at Yelena "Say one of their names again I dare you, also of course she would be on your side. You were the favorite, I know she secretly wanted you there and not me with the avengers all those years." Yelena then laughed "Of course she wanted me there instead, because I was her actual sister. You were always the girl we found when we were kids in the red room together." I looked at her with anger and hurt which is why without thinking I fired a widow bite right at her shoulder hitting her. She then fell to her knees cursing in Russian peeling the bite off. Kate was standing there near them frozen unsure of what to do or say to stop this from escalating further. I look down at Yelena with a hurt expression "Sestra I'm sorry I didn't mean to-" Just then I was cut off by a loud crashing noise coming from the opposite side of the room where someone just came flying through the window landing somehow gracefully.
We all got to our feet ready to fight when the intruder pulled their hoodie off and I was met with a face I thought I would never see again. "Hey Y/N, did you miss me?" she said with a smirk as she strolled over to us. "Don't come any closer to my sister Abbie." Yelena says with her arm in front of me. "Yelena, I promise I just want to talk, I thought you or Y/N would have found me by now. I see now that you guys were preoccupied fighting. I'm guessing over me right, I may have been spying on you guys from the rooftop across the street." I finally meet her gaze "Abbie how are you here, when I last saw you-" Abbie then laughs and cuts me off "You thought I was dead, since you know I did die in your arms, which by the way was pretty romantic. I wouldn't mind us getting to know each other again, since we clearly have grown up and matured." She says while she checks me out not caring bout Kate or Yelena. Kate then intervenes and holds out her hand "Hi I'm Kate, the girlfriend. I mean Y/N's girlfriend, not Yelena's that would be weird and honestly, she's scarier." I turn to look at Kate "Hey, I can be scary and intimidating to you know." Abbie then walks closer in my direction "I would say it's scary how hot you grew up to be, we would definitely be the hottest couple and still can be if you want." She says with a smirk and trailing her hand down my arm. Kate then gets in between us "Alright that's enough touching, what did you say you were here for again." Yelena then marched up to her and got in her face "She didn't say anything, so either you talk, or I kick you out myself. Also, Kate bishop is right don't touch my sister again, unless you want to lose a hand.
Abbie takes a step back and collects herself "Right sorry, I came here because I need your guys help. I've been trying to get out of the assassin game and retire. You know some place in the tropics, like we talked about where we would always live together, right princess" she looked over at me with a grin and a wink. "Abbie can we umm please get back on topic." I say flustered. "Anyway, I'm being tracked by too other assassins, which wouldn't be a problem for someone like me. If those people weren't some of the bests in the game." I step closer to her and take her hand away from her hair. "You still like to play with your hair when you're scared or nervous." She meets my gaze and laughs "Guess somethings never change huh. Y/N the people who are after me, it's my brother and his girlfriend, guess he must still hate me." I take her hand and squeeze it reassuringly. "Hey, we won't let that monster get you, not again. I will do everything to keep you safe Abigail." Before she could get a chance to respond Yelena walked up and broke us apart "Alright that's enough, Kate bishop is getting jealous of you guys and I don't like you, especially around my sister." Abbie laughs "Come on Yelena, we were kids would you just relax and move on." I then turned to a furious and jealous looking Kate. "Kate, honey you know I only have feelings for you right?" She looks at me with a forced smile "Yeah, totally I know that babe."
I then look back towards Abbie and Yelena "Alright you too break it up, Abbie do you know where your brother is?" She turns to me after one more smirk at Yelena. "Of course, but maybe I should just do this on my own, he's my brother and-" I hold up my hand to cut her off. "Abbie he may be your brother, but you need us, and we need to finish this." Yelena turned to me "If you mean kill them it's going to be me or Abbie. I'm not letting you get more blood on your hands Sestra." Then it was Kate's turn to object "Wait do we have to kill them, can't we just bring them in, so they face justice or badly injure them, so they don't come back or something." Yelena turned to Kate "Maybe its best you don't come Kate. This is our fight not yours, also we are all better fighters than you." Kate then scoffed and looked at me for help. "Kate, baby maybe its best you stay behind just this ounce. Before you argue with me just, please trust me, I can't have you getting hurt and trust me these guys are deadly." Then it was her turn to interrupt me "What about you, I always have your back remember. Also, wouldn't it be better to have the number advantage." Yelena turns to Kate "Normally yes Kate bishop but not in this case, they will just target you. Which will distract us especially Y/N." I turn to Yelena and Abbie letting out a sigh. "Can you guys get ready and give us a minute." They both nod understanding, Yelena and my eyes meet for a moment, and I gesture to my jacket. She luckily gets the message and gets my equipment on the way out knowing I'm about to trick Kate into not coming somehow.
I turn my attention back to Kate who looks at me with her arms crossed. "You're not going to convince me to stay Y/N I'm going." I sigh "If there's really nothing I can say or do then I guess you better grab your bow and get ready. I think I put it in the closet when I was cleaning before, I left for my run." She walks up to me and gives me a kiss on the cheek "Thank you and I promise I'll be safe Y/N" she says before walking over to the closet. I walk behind her and when she opens it and looks confused when there's no bow. Before she can turn around, I gently shove her into the closet trying not to hurt her more than I already am. I lock the door and put a chair there for good measure. "Y/N, please don't do this. Baby please don't leave me to worry about you here and alone." I turn to lucky "Make sure that mom doesn't escape, please boy" he then barks in acknowledgement or at least I hope he understood me. "I'm sorry my love but I can't let them hurt you. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you, I'm sorry I hope you can forgive me for this" With that I left a confused Lucky and angry and hurt Kate. I make it to the roof where Yelena and Abbie are waiting. "Alright, I'm ready let's go." Yelena looks at me with concern. "Y/N, about everything that happened earlier." I cut her off by pulling her into a hug. "It's ok Lena, we were both very emotional and thrown off about the whole Abbie news. I love you sister and I always will." She returned the hug, "I love you to Sestra and I was not emotional. You were the one who was thrown off by the news, I tried telling you." Just then Abbie cleared her throat "Sorry, not that I'm not happy for you guys but I think we should probably go and find them now." I break apart from Yelena and focus back up "Right sorry, let's go finish the job and move on from this mess already."
We arrive at the abandoned warehouse that Abbie's brother and girlfriend are supposed to be. I turn to Abbie and Yelena "So, how do we want to go about this. I think we could either just go through the front doors since there probably already watching and expecting us or through that window up there" I say pointing to a window above the big old metal doors. Just then the doors creak open and out walks Abbie's brother and his girlfriend. "You guys all showed up, this is going to be a perfect reunion." He then focuses on me and Yelena "Well might I say Y/N you look incredible. If I wasn't with Becca here, I would totally steal you from my sister." I let out a laugh and shake my head "I see you haven't changed at all Derek, also my heart doesn't belong to anyone but my girlfriend Kate." He then lets out a chuckle "Ah yes the archer, I notice she isn't here. I was hoping for more of a challenge and to meet her, but I guess you three will have to do." Now it was Abbie's turn to laugh "I think you will find that the three of us are more than enough to take you down dear brother. Now let's end this ounce and for all."
With that said Abbie launched herself at her brother while Yelena and I took Becca. It was a pretty even fight so far, all of us trading punches and kicks, with the occasional knife jabs here and there. Until I saw Abbie being kicked into some cargo boxes while her brother was walking towards her with a sword, ready to finish her off. "Abbie look out" I yell while running over to them and picking up a sword laying on the ground. Before Derek could finish the job, I intercept his blade with mine and when our blades connect, I look him in the eyes and say, "You know, you really shouldn't leave your weapons laying around." He grunts in response while parrying my blade creating some distance between us. "If you would have told me we were allowed swords. I could have brought mine, you really should have sent a list of weapons in the file you left at Yelena's door or something." I then turned to Abbie "Go help Lena, I got your brother handled." She nodded in response while I focused my attention back on Derek. "You know, your sister Natasha was the only one who could beat me. She really was the best, shame she died a coward." My eyes then blazed over, and I yelled out angrily while charging him "Don't ever say her name again, you coward." I slashed my sword at him while he quickly dodged, and we then started trading hit after hit.
Meanwhile with Kate, she had successfully broken down the door and was on her way to the warehouse, she tracked Y/N's phone cause Abbie was the only one with the location. When she arrived, she first saw Yelena, Abbie and who she assumed was Abbie's brother's girlfriend. She then quickly scanned for Y/N and spotted her fighting Abbie's brother not far from where Yelena and Abbie were. She than reached for her zipline arrow, which she now noticed wasn't there. "Shit, the onetime I don't bring it, see this is what happens when someone locks me in a closet, and I have to hurry." She lets out a sigh of frustration and starts making her way down the building and across the street where they were. If only she could have made it quicker than she could have stopped what was about to happen.
Back with Yelena and Abbie were both gaining the upper hand on Becca. Yelena disarmed her, while Abbie was about to finish the final blow with her gun pointed at Becca. Derek looked over in time to see his girlfriend about to be executed. He then turned back to me and when I was about to go in for another strike, he caught me off guard and knocked my sword out of my hand. "My sister takes my world, I take hers." saying that his strikes got more aggressive and harder to dodge. I tried to kick my sword up and into my hands when Derek saw an opening and took it stabbing me right through the chest. I then hear Kate scream my name getting Yelena's and Abbie's attention. Abbie then pulls the trigger shooting Becca through the chest while racing over with Yelena to take down Derek. He pulls the sword from my chest while I start to collapse, Kate races over and catches me in her arms. Yelena and Becca both start trading blows with Derek until Abbie gets the upper hand and stabs Derek right through the heart. "I hope your final thoughts are filled with regret dear brother. You should have always been there for me in the red room, not resenting me for our parent's death even though there was nothing we could have done." With that thought she pulls the sword from his chest and focuses her attention on a sobbing Kate.
"No, no, Y/N please stay with me, I can't lose you to. Your all I have left, please don't leave me my love." I look up at Kate and let out a weak sigh "Take care of Yelena for me ok Kate. I love you, my archer." and with that my eyes started to close as ambulance and police were heard nearby headed in our direction. After a long drive to the hospital Kate, Abbie and Yelena were sat in the waiting room. Just then after hours of surgery, the doctors came out and told the three girls that Y/N would be ok and is resting but they could see her now. Kate was the first one to rush to Y/N side and take her hand "I know you can't hear me Y/N, but I just want you to know that we all love you and want you to come back to us now, please." Yelena then rested a hand on Kate's shoulder "She will be fine Kate bishop there's no need to worry. Y/n is the strongest out of all of us." Abbie then walked by Yelena "Shes right Kate and Shes lucky to have someone like you looking after her. You're a lucky girl." Kate then smiled and looked at me and said, "I really am, Y/N's my world and ill do anything to protect her." Just then Y/N started to open their eyes and blinking rapidly trying to adjust to the bright lights. "Hey guys, we won right, I didn't just get stabbed for nothing." Everyone's attention was then drawn back to me as I sat up a bit. Abbie then looked at me and smirked, "We sure did fearless warrior. It's finally over." With that we all went back to Kate and my place, ready to get some sleep and put the day and night behind us. However, when we got there Yelena said she would have Abbie stay with her for the night before her plane gets there to pick her up in the morning. Currently Kate and I were laying on the couch with my head on her shoulder. "I'm glad it's all over and your ok my love." I looked up to meet Kate's loving gaze, "I'll always come back to you Kate. I promise." Kate then leaned down and pressed a kiss to my forehead "Good, cause when I thought I lost you it broke me. When my dad died, he was my heart and a piece of it died that day. You are however my dear Y/N are my soul, my heart, my everything."
Meanwhile with Yelena and Abbie, they were currently tangled in Yelena's bed. Both agreeing though that it would just be a one-night thing. Also, they would never tell Kate and especially Y/N. The next morning rolled around, and Abbie was currently at Yelena's door ready to leave. "Make sure to tell Kate and Y/N bye for me and that ill hopefully see you all soon when you visit me in the tropics." Yelena then let out a laugh "Of course, I'll go over there sometime today to check in on them. Have a safe trip Abbie and well visit soon, promise." Abbie then hugged Yelena and said, "You have to come visit so we can have more mind-blowing sex." she let go and shot Yelena a quick wink leaving the former assassin flustered before she was out the door.
After a few hours have passed by Yelena was on her way to Kate and Y/N place when she saw the news on her phone. She immediately started rushing over to the apartment quicker. Kate and Y/N were on the couch when they both saw the news that a plane matching Abbie's private jet went down on the way to their tropical location. Yelena then came bursting through the door "Y/N you need to see the news." Y/N then sprung from the couch not caring about her sore injuries. "Lena, she made it right, there's no way the great Abbie went out from a plane crash right." Yelena then shook her head "No way, I guess we know what our next mission is now." Kate then shot up and looked at Yelena and I with a glare. "This time I'm coming, someone needs to have your guys back because clearly you need me. Especially my future wife who almost died." I then turned to Kate with heart eyes "Aww babe, you're the best" Yelena then started to gag "Alright love birds that's enough, we have an Abbie to save. So, let's get going."

Dearest Molly,
I hope you're feeling better! The damn covid that won't test positive. What a pain in the ass. Speaking of, can I be one for just a sec? Full disclosure, I'm a bit of a history nerd, and right now, I'm all WWII. My grandfather flew B25 bombers over the Philipines during the war and I've been really eating it up.
I was rereading the till forever falls apart tag (brilliant, amazing, can't wait for it!) and had a question. I also remembered that post you made about research and accuracy so in the spirit of that, here I am...
I've been watching this series on Netflix about WWII battles that have been colorized and I happened upon the one on The Battle of Britain this morning while getting ready and had a moment about the timeline of the AU. How long is our dear Anthony in the hospital? I just wonder because you mention both Goose and Dorset being Americans and the Battle of Britain was in 1940 and we had not entered the war yet.
Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbor made it seem like it would be really easy to just hop over and join the RAF, but it would actually be really complicated because of the neutrality laws Congress signed into place in the '30s. They'd have to resign their commission, travel to Canada, and pretend to be Canadian. All that being said, there were only about 10 Americans that historians can determine were in the Battle of Britain because they were only identified many times by their call signs because being there was actually a felony.
So all that being said, if our poor boy is still in hospital til then, well... I may have just clutched my metaphorical pearls and said, "Poor boy, thank goodness Kate is there!"
Lastly, one more thing, because I am a pain. I mentioned my grandfather, but my late husband and brother were also in branches of the US military and one thing they taught me is a THING, when in uniform, your cap (or cover as they called it) is removed immediately upon entering a building. When Kate meets Anthony at the dance, there is a line about his still having his forage cap on. They can wear it indoors while participating in a ceremony (my brother at my wedding was fine), but I feel like if a CO walked into that dancehall and saw that cap, our boy would have received quite the dressing down. Which actually might be funny for Kate. But I did also google this about the RAF so I didn't sound like a complete twat.
Anyway. In penance for being annoying, a picture of my girls, Sadie and Piper (in the Christmas cape!).

I adore your work, I think you are so talented. Thank you for all of your words and for sharing bits of your life with us. Greggy and Supreme are adorable and I am here for it!
Hey!
So! Let me clear up the main point here: Anthony flew in the Battle of Britain, but he wasn’t injured in the Battle of Britain. I haven’t worked out the timeline just yet but it his injury happens sometime after the US Air Force was stationed at Duxford. He wasn’t in the hospital for 2 years don’t worry, I think a few months is realistic though. Sorry, I should have been clearer about that. Anthony is very proud of having flown in the Battle of Britain but that’s not where he was injured, it just means he’s a pretty decorated pilot when he’s shot down.
And I actually nearly had Kate make a comment about removing his hat inside, particularly in the presence of a lady just to throw him off a little, but I decided not to because the snippet was getting too long. I think I’ll add it back into the fic though when I write it!
Thank you though! If you notice anything else: let me know!
And look at those two beautiful little pooches. Precious babies.

Why did you elbow me? 209
Achilles Castle part 111
Lemonade and lies Part 54
Nicholas (Nick) Stephen McSwarek undercover part 18
Kate/Stana: pov I think he is probably happy it wasn't his drugs that were delivered to Carl's house. Nick says there is a gyn downstairs in our building. Would you like to check it out before dinner, we are not going to work out just take a look around do you understand. Yes I understand Nick. I'm going to change into my cardiac arrest shirt and yes I brought it with me it's comfortable. Before we leave I stop in the bathroom to pee, I think I drank too much water today.
Officer Nicholas (Nick) Stephen McSwarek/Greig: pov are you okay you have been going to the bathroom a lot. Kate mentions she just drank a lot of water today. Hey Stana let’s take the elevator, the stairs are not your friend lately. Wow this gym is nice at the reception desk Kate asks the woman some questions. I can tell the receptionist wants more info.
Kate/Stana: pov is there anyway we can talk to the manager and trainer here, I have some medical issues they would need to know about beforehand. I explain my medical history to the woman who doesn't know what to say. The manager appears with a trainer who asks the receptionist why they were called saying Is there a problem. She says no this woman just wanted to talk to you, hi i’m sorry to pull you guys away from your work but me and Nick here wanted to check out your gym and with my medical history and medical condition i thought we should talk to you.
Gareth gym owner: pov Medical condition: what type of health issues do you have. Stana says I have a heart condition, my cardiologist, cardiac rehabilitator and physical therapist all said it was safe for me to work out. How long have you had it, you weren't born with it were you.
Kate/Stana: pov no I got it later in life, Gareth asks if you don't mind me asking does your Dr know what caused your heart condition, was it a defect or something that just went undiagnosed. Nick is trying to keep a straight face. For a second I almost told him I got shot at a funeral but then remembered I'm undercover. It was a random shooting. The bullet nicked my left inferior pulmonary vein and ventricle went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully a woman who turned out to be an ME did CPR on me. She was at the right place at the right time.
Gareth gym owner: pov she tells me about her emergency heart surgery. Okay with your health we might have to modify our workout routine for you or come up with a special one just for you.
Kate/Stana: pov after talking for a bit we watch a little bit of a workout before heading home. I offer to help Nick make dinner for the both of us. He suggests vegetarian tacos he saw the recipe online earlier. I cut up some of the ingredients while he cooks the taco's in the oven, everything looks fantastic. Thanks for being okay with eating the same things as me. I know you rather eat meat.
Officer Nicholas (Nick) Stephen McSwarek/Greig: pov I put some spicy stuff on my Taco's, hey Kate maybe we can go out for dessert after dinner if you are up to it. Ugh spoke too soon my phone is ringing. It's kovitch. Thankfully he just wants to talk, I put him on speaker phone so Kate can talk with him too.
Castle: pov It's hard without Kate here. I ordered some pizza and went into the theater room to watch a movie. I miss her so much I wish I could see her. Wait a minute Lanie said something about Kate interviewing for a new job tomorrow while undercover. Maybe I can visit her at work and pretend to need her help. Hmm that might work I will have to run it by Lanie first since i don't want to ruin Kate's undercover assignment
Kate/Stana: pov I'm now sitting on the sofa with a blanket being lazy. Me and Nick are getting some work done. The both of us are looking into the drug dealers and trying to find info on the killer. Some stuff isn't adding up. I don't think Ned knew Carl so even though Carl is a killer I don't think he killed Ned we will need more info on this. After looking deep into Carl's phone and financial records nothing popped up. Maybe Kovitch might know Ned did work for him.
Officer Nicholas (Nick) Stephen McSwarek/Greig: pov we can talk to him tomorrow afternoon after my job interview since mine is after your, on the way we can stop for food because it will be close to lunchtime by then.
Lanie: pov Esposito I'm so worried tomorrow Is her job interview at the gun range what if they don't want to hire her because of her health or her PTSD start to act up.
Esposito: pov I didn't take you out to eat to talk about Kate sometimes we need a few minutes to ourselves. I understand that you are worried I am too, undercover work is hard and she has health issues. We both know what she survived and how strong she is, Kate will be okay. Lanie mentions Castle is thinking about stopping by the gun range if she gets the job pretending to be a customer that way he can see her in person and spend time with her. Our delicious looking Spanish food arrived. I know this is a hard subject to bring up but I think we need to talk to someone about our worries about Kate, it might help us. Maybe a support group or therapist of some sort.
Lanie: pov Esposito I don't know how you didn't get PTSD from the war but I agree with you we should at least give it a try. I was looking something up and read an article about vicarious trauma. This could be affecting us. I couldn't sleep for weeks after what happened to Kate. It was awful and you were staying late at the precinct which made it harder. To be continued. ………

body swap [four] // wanda maximoff
Tumblr media
summary: as you approach the end of the month, you realise how badly you can't wait to be back in your own body and tell Wanda how you feel, but your feelings start to get in the way of everything and cause trouble.
warning/s: none i don't think??
author's note: and here’s the final part! i hope it fulfils everyone’s expectations 😬
one / two / three / masterlist / wattpad
Tumblr media
Being so close yet so out of reach from Wanda only made me realise how badly I missed her, more than I ever thought I could.
When we broke up, I was sure it was the right choice. It was a mutual explosion of a decision that was the result of a built up argument, but I figured it was for the best because clearly things weren't working like they used to.
But that seemed so stupid now that I didn't have her in my life anymore. It had been almost two months since our breakup and I wasn't doing any better. Being in Kate's body meant that she liked me because she thought I was Kate, and I could talk to her without it ending in an argument.
And it only made me realise how foolish I was to not have fought for us from the start. But I couldn't let this be the end, even if she was starting to move on. I was going to make it work. Once I was back in my own body, I'd tell her how I felt, how I never should have given up on us so easily and how damn sorry I was for everything that went wrong. I'd tell her it all and hope that she'd forgive me.
For now though, all I could do was pine after her from afar. It was easy to forget I was in someone else's body when my thoughts and feelings were still all mine, and especially easy to forget that there could be repercussions for my actions if I didn't take better care.
One silly example included a time when Wanda came into the kitchen where a bunch of us were hanging out, and asked if anybody wanted to join her for a last minute movie at the cinema that night.
"Natasha was supposed to join me, but she cancelled," she added with a playful annoyed tone, and Natasha, who was sat on the couch, threw her hand up in the air.
"Hey, I said I was sorry!" she exclaimed. "I forgot I already had plans with Pepper!"
Wanda rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah... well, if anyone's free, the offer is out there. It's tonight at eight."
Everyone hummed in acknowledgement and got back to whatever they were doing, so Wanda went to grab herself something from the fridge. Without thinking about it, I stepped forward, about to accept her offer because spending time with her sounded divine, but Kate pulled me back instantly.
"Don't even think about it," she warned without looking up from her phone.
I sighed, watching Wanda inconspicuously and wanting nothing more than to go up to her and ask if I could join her tonight. But it was wrong of me to make effort with her like this and not as myself.
She needed to know that I still cared about her and missed her, and the only way to do that was by showing her. And the only way to do that was to ask Kate. So, that's what I did.
Kate's shoulder injury was healing nicely, but it was still something to be weary of. Despite that, she was finally back in the gym and beginning to spar again, so I had a word with her when she came in one day, ready to go.
"You have to ask Wanda to spar with you," I said to her sternly, eyes flickering over to Wanda who was working a punching bag at the moment.
"She doesn't like you, remember?" Kate teased, and I punched her in the arm before giving her a knowing look.
"Just do it," I told her. "I have a feeling she might actually agree to it."
Kate quirked a brow. "And if your feeling is wrong?"
"Then I'll cry myself to sleep," I said sarcastically, before glaring at her. "Just do it!"
She sighed dramatically. "Fine, if I have to."
"If she does say yes, you have to be nice," I said, eyes locked onto Wanda once more, wishing I could just approach her myself. "A little flirty, but nothing too serious. But not boring either. Just show her you're still interested, that you still care about her and think of her, but nothing to scare her away."
"That's a lot of conflicting instructions," Kate said, and I looked back to her to see her scrunching her nose up with confusion.
Oh, God, I didn't have the strength to deal with her.
"Just go!" I said impatiently, before shoving her in Wanda's direction.
"Geez, okay!" she said, tripping over her own feet before straightening up and calmly approaching the redhead.
I made myself look busy with my water bottle as I watched the two of them from the other end of the room. They were too far for me to hear what was being said, but Kate had stopped Wanda from punching the punching bag and was saying something that had her listening. Wanda didn't look like she wanted to kill me which was a plus, so I could only hope it was going well.
The two of them were then making their way to the mats, so that could only mean Wanda had said yes and I began to smile to myself. This was progress. She wasn't repulsed by my presence. And she even started to smile at Kate AKA me, so Kate must have been pulling out all the stops.
It was hard to keep training without constantly stealing glances in their direction, but I couldn't help it. I just wanted to know if it was going okay. Whenever I looked over, Wanda seemed to be happy which was a good sign, but I didn't know anything for sure until Kate approached me after their session.
"You're welcome," Kate said with a big headed smile, stopping by my side. "That girl is so easy to impress. Or maybe she's just too in love with your nerdy arse."
I smiled hopefully. "It went well then?"
She tried not to laugh. "Hell yeah it did. D'you know how many stupid jokes I made? Like the terrible ones you usually make that you think are funny?"
I narrowed my eyes at her, but a smile was on my lips. "Hilarious."
"That's the thing, they're not," she said cheekily. "But Wanda loved them. Which is kind of ironic if you think about it, because isn't that one of the reasons you guys broke up in the..." She stopped talking when I gave her a disapproving glance, and instead settled on, "Anyway, it was a good session and she doesn't hate you it seems."
"Well, her new friend Kate Bishop has been asking her to look at things differently," I said with a shrug. "What can I say?"
Kate snorted with amusement. "Wow. You're not quitting, are you?"
"For her? Never."
Tumblr media
The month's end was approaching and the last thing I expected was to be attempting to get my ex-girlfriend back together with me through someone else's body, yet here I was.
At any given opportunity, I'd try to push Wanda closer to me AKA Kate, just to show her that I wasn't over us, and it was actually working. As well as actually acknowledging my existence around the compound unlike before, she was beginning to hold a conversation for more than two minutes without wanting to murder me, and I tried to enjoy it the best I could despite not actually being involved.
I definitely owed Kate big time since she was putting in a lot of the effort, but I'd like to think it was down to my initiative  to use Kate to my advantage and encourage Wanda to give me another shot. It wasn't my intention, but it was growing increasingly difficult to avoid Wanda when all I wanted to do was hold her hand, feel her lips against mine, admire her beautiful smile.
It seemed to be working and I was already predicting asking Wanda out once I had my body back when Strange returned (providing he didn't kill us for looking in his office, that is), but to my surprise, Wanda made the first move. Kind of.
"Looks like you'll be going out with Wanda and Natasha for lunch tomorrow," Kate said to me one afternoon, giving me a proud smile.
I raised my eyebrows. "Wait, what? Wanda actually wants to spend time with me? Outside of work?"
Kate popped her imaginary collars. "You're welcome. Looks like she doesn't entirely hate your presence anymore."
"Kate, this is amazing!" I exclaimed, a smile growing on my lips because this was the first sign that Wanda might be interested in me again.
"Okay, it's not that big of a deal," Kate said with a chuckle. "Natasha is coming, too. It's not a date or anything."
"But she wants to spend time with me," I said, unable to see the down side. "That's something."
"I guess. I just know I cannot wait to have my body back. This fixing your love life stuff is so exhausting."
"I owe you for life if this works out," I said with a laugh. "Now listen. You have to tell me everything that happens, okay?"
"As always," she said with a teasing voice, and I rolled my eyes playfully.
The next day, all I could think about was the lunch with Wanda, even if it wasn't technically me going. But to my confusion, I found Kate storming down the hallway of the compound when she should have been at the lunch.
"Er, Kate...?" I called, wondering why she looked so annoyed.
She stopped, looked up at me and her annoyance transformed into guilt, making me even more confused.
"Shouldn't you be at lunch with Wanda and Nat?" I asked slowly.
"Oh, erm," she paused, clearing her throat and glancing around nervously. "Come on."
I furrowed my eyebrows but let her drag me to a quieter part of the compound, away from passers-by. It wasn't helping that she had me wondering what the hell was going on.
"Is everything okay?" I asked reluctantly, preparing myself for bad news since that's what she was suggesting it was with her nervousness.
She frowned apologetically, finally meeting my eyes. "Y/N, I'm sorry. I couldn't help it. Wanda, she just–"
"What are you talking about?" I asked, trying to follow. "What happened?"
She pursed her lips, having an internal debate about something, before looking to me with confidence. "Look, I know I might be biased because I'm your friend first, but I don't think Wanda treats you very fairly. And I couldn't just let her treat you unfairly yet again."
"Kate. Details. What are you on about?"
She sighed. "Wanda cancelled lunch. Apparently she has some work to do."
I frowned, disappointment filling me. "What?"
"Natasha said she cancelled," Kate explained, "and I wanted to know why Wanda couldn't tell me herself, so I went to her and asked."
I hated the déjà vu I was feeling from the many times Wanda used to put me in second place to her job when we were dating, but I had to know more, so I asked.
"What did she say?" I asked Kate hesitantly.
Kate pulled a face with annoyance. "She said she had work to do. So, I asked her why she couldn't tell me that herself, and she said that she told Natasha to tell me. And then I thought about how excited you were for this to happen and how you said she used to this a lot when you were dating and I– I don't know, I kind of snapped."
I raised my brows. "What? What do you mean you snapped?"
Kate scrunched her face sheepishly. "Wanda started to get annoyed about me overreacting about her not telling me herself, so then I started saying how she always puts her work first–"
"Oh, no..."
"–and then she brought up the breakup and, God, it was so annoying, so I started defending you and then she started going on about how this always happens and it was the reason you broke up, and then I got frustrated and I left and here we are!"
Kate took a deep breath after her recollection, meanwhile I was shocked. It sounded like the argument escalated quite quickly and I definitely didn't expect that. Not one bit.
"I'm sorry, Y/N," Kate said when she saw my expression. "I'll go back and apologise to Wanda if that's what you want me to do, but I couldn't just stand there and watch you get treated poorly by your ex, even if she is an Avenger."
I blinked, massaging my head as I tried to digest Kate's words. She was only being a supportive friend and I couldn't fault her for that.
"It's okay," I finally said, shaking my head. "You don't need to apologise. To me or to Wanda."
"Yeah, but I shouldn't have got involved," Kate said with a frown, mostly to herself. "She just– she always says how immature you are and how you can't take things seriously, but that's not far. You're not like that out of nowhere. She doesn't listen to you.”
I couldn't help but smile a little, hearing my own words coming from her mouth, because that's exactly what I said to Wanda during our breakup and she didn't care.
Pulling Kate in for a grateful hug, I said, "Thank you for having my back, Kate. It means a lot."
"I didn't mean for it to escalate," she said regretfully. "And I'm sorry she cancelled. I know you were looking forward to it."
I reassured her with a small smile when I pulled away. "It's okay... but I should probably go and check on Wanda."
She looked like she was about to retort, but I signalled for her not to.
"I know she was in the wrong," I explained, "but I can't help it. I have to make sure she's okay, too." She still looked against the idea, so I sighed and gave her a look. "You'll know what I mean when you have a girlfriend."
She frowned. "Okay. Do what you need to do. She's in the library working on mission reports."
"Thanks again, Kate.”
Just like Kate said, I found Wanda in the library, though she wasn't sat at a desk doing mission reports, but rather sat on the window ledge, looking out with her hand pressed to her face comfortably. Taking a deep breath, I walked in knocked on a table, hoping to get attention. To my surprise, she looked right at me unexpectedly and her eyes were watery with tears.
"I just came to see if you were okay," I said hesitantly, taking a few steps towards her and half expecting her to kick me out. "I heard about the argument with Y/N."
She sucked up a shaky breath, using the end of her shirt sleeve to wipe away at her eyes. "Everything's fi–"
Her voice broke and she frowned, considering keeping up her pretence, but decided against it as she rubbed her face with her hands.
"Wanda–"
"It's always my fault," she said suddenly, looking ahead with a pained expression.
I was taken aback. "What?"
She scrunched her eyebrows together with regret. "I cancelled because I put my job first again."
Realising what she meant, I sighed. "The lunch."
She smiled bitterly. "Yeah, the lunch. This is why we broke up in the first place. It was my fault. I didn't put the time in with her. I let my work get to me."
"Wanda–" I started, sitting in front of her, but she kept on going without a care in the world.
"She didn't take me seriously because I was a joke. I was never here, not really," she finished, and now that I could see her better, I noticed the red in her eyes, and not from her powers.
It broke my heart to see her crying like this, blaming herself for our breakup. It wasn't fair because it wasn't just her. We both played a part.
"No, that's not true," I said softly. "Y/N should have been better. Been more mature and learnt when to treat things seriously."
"Her humour is what made me fall for her," she said, jaw clenched, then her tear-filled gaze met mine. "I never should have said those horrible things to her when we broke up."
I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Well, horrible things are said when people are angry. Y/N probably said stuff she regrets, too."
Wanda didn't answer, just pushed her hair out of her eyes and held her face, breathing out shakily. I wanted nothing more than to move forward and pull her into a hug. To rub her back and tell her how sorry I was, too. To tell her that we both made mistakes, but we could fix it.
But I couldn't.
"You're a wonderful person, Wanda," I told her with the utmost sincerity, trying to find her eyes. "You shouldn't beat yourself up about about this. And if you want to make things right with Y/N, you should."
"I'm not wonderful," she said with a hoarse voice, shaking her head. "I broke her heart. And today, I did it all over again. I hurt her. That's all I ever do."
"But Y/N broke yours, too," I said guiltily. "That's not fair either. Why should only you get the blame?"
She closed her eyes, lips pressed together firmly. I studied her closely, seeing the self-doubt and regret written all over her face, the same thing I saw when looking in the mirror.
Without thinking much of it, I grabbed her hand and squeezed it gently, making her open her eyes with surprise.
"Wanda, you are the most beautiful person in the world," I said what I had always thought. "You always put others before yourself."
"That's why there was never any time for Y/N," Wanda said guiltily. "It's not a good thing, Kate."
I shook my head. "You can work on it then. But you and Y/N... it didn't have to end. Y/N is insane for letting you go."
Wanda scoffed gently, letting go of my hand, but I wasn't giving up.
"She should be getting her arse into gear and getting you back," I continued, and to my relief, her lips twitched into a small smile. "She's an idiot."
A tear rolled down her cheek and my guilt returned.
"Oh, no, I didn't mean to make you–"
"No, it's fine," she cut me off, wiping the tear away. "I just– I haven't had somebody root for me in a while. Even if I don't deserve it."
I felt a burning in my chest, frowning at her words. We'd been so focused on being right, being stubborn, that we hadn't been there for each other like we should have been. I hadn't been there for her like she needed me to be.
"She should have told you this all the time," I realised. "About how wonderful you are. This could have been fixed if you'd both just spoken to each other."
She sighed quietly, not confirming nor denying my words, but I knew I was right.
"Wanda," I called softly.
Her green eyes finally looked up, finding mine, and I was stunned. She was mesmerising. Her bright eyes, even stained red from crying, had me hooked. The way her cheekbones curved into her full lips, frowning slightly, the dip of her cupid's bow, the pink of her lips... she was absolutely stunning.
"You deserve the universe and nothing less," I told her, eyes focused on only one thing.
And before I could stop myself, I'd already leaned in, pressing my lips to hers. I barely had chance to appreciate it because she immediately pushed me back, eyes widened with shock. And that's when I realised what the hell I'd just done.
"Oh, no, no, no, no," she muttered repeatedly, standing up and taking a step back. "This isn't a thing right now."
I was horrified at my actions, trying to find an explanation. "Wait, Wanda–"
"You're a kid," she said slowly, gulping.
"I mean, technically I'm not–"
"You're Y/N's friend!" she exclaimed, half glaring at me and half confused. "You're a kid and you're my ex's friend and– no! No way!"
I stood up, attempting to approach her, but she stepped back instantly. "Wanda, wait. I can explain. It's me! Y/N!"
She looked horribly offended. "What the– no! I've got to go."
"Wait, Wanda!" I called after her, but she avoided me completely and left the room.
Groaning to myself, I facepalmed and knew I'd fucked up. I had to tell Wanda the truth or she'd think Kate was a complete psychopath and Kate would hate me forever.
Immediately making a beeline for my room where I knew Kate would be, I knocked on the door quickly and impatiently.
"Geez, you're acting like there's a fire," Kate said with irritation when she opened the door, but then she saw the panic on my face and began to panic herself. "Oh, no. What happened?"
I pulled a face. "I kissed Wanda."
Kate's eyes widened. "You what?! You– in my– you did it in my body?! You kissed– kiss– Wanda– what?!"
"I know! It was stupid and I didn't mean to!" I exclaimed defensively. "Look, we need to go and fix this. We have to tell her the truth right now because she thinks she did something wrong and she also kind of thinks you're a weirdo–"
"Y/N!"
"I know!" I shouted sheepishly, ignoring Kate's glare. "Are you coming or not?"
Kate looked up at the ceiling, letting out the longest groan known to man, before looking to me impatiently. I took that as a yes and the two of us went straight to Wanda's room, myself trying to put together an explanation to give to Wanda, but nothing was making sense because all I could think about was how mortified Wanda looked. I'd really screwed this up.
"Wanda, it's me!" I called as I knocked on her door. "Please, let me explain!" She didn't respond, so I knocked again, more urgently. "Please, Wanda, I swear it'll make sense!"
After a moment, she shouted from the other side of the door, "I'm sorry if I led you on, Kate, that was never my intention, but this can't happen! I'm sorry, but I don't like you like that!"
Kate shot me a dirty look, muttering, "Seriously?"
"Say something!" I said to her, making her roll her eyes before knocking on the door.
"Wanda, it's me!" Kate called out. "Please, let us explain!"
That did the trick, as Wanda immediately opened the door and gave Kate an apologetic look.
"Y/N, look, I don't know what Kate told you, but I would never–"
"I'm not Y/N, Wanda," Kate said quickly. "I'm Kate. This is Y/N."
She motioned to me, and Wanda squinted her eyes with confusion before groaning lowly.
"Oh, not you, too..."
"Just hear us out, Wanda, please," I said desperately. "We switched bodies and we've been stuck in each other's all month!"
I could practically see the gears turning in her mind as she studied the two of us with disbelief, but something must have convinced her to believe us to an extent because she stepped to the side and let us into her room. Kate and I exchanged relieved but nervous glances and walked in.
"Okay, what the hell is going on?" Wanda asked, facing us both with crossed arms and a fixed glare. "What do you mean you switched bodies?"
I sighed quietly, looking to Kate, who nodded to me encouragingly. Then, I shamefully explained the whole situation, starting from when I accidentally ingested something from Strange's office and then convinced Kate to do the same, all the way to being too embarrassed to tell Steve the truth and convincing Kate to keep it a secret until Strange came back from his mission.
"No, that's not fair, it wasn't entirely her fault," Kate added after I finished, shooting me a disapproving glance. "It was both of our faults. Mainly mine for being nosey in the first place."
Wanda chewed on her lip, looking between us, before her eyes settled on Kate. "So, you're not Y/N?"
Kate shook her head. "I'm not."
Wanda looked at me with an unreadable expression. "But you are?"
I nodded with embarrassment. "Yeah."
Green eyes peered into mine and the longer she stared, the more I realised she still didn't believe us.
"Read our minds," I told her. "You'll know we're telling the truth then."
She nodded slightly, before lifting her hand and resting it against the side of my head. Her eyes flashed red before returning to their natural colour in an instant. She seemed confused as she tried again, but nothing worked.
"Well?" Kate asked curiously.
"It's not working," Wanda said with frustration, lowering her hand. "It's like there's a guard around your head."
I sighed inwardly. "It's probably the spell. Only Strange will be able to fix it. But Wanda, you have to believe us. It's me, Y/N. You know Kate wouldn't have tried that on you back there."
"I really wouldn't have," Kate said from beside me, before backing down when I shot her a look.
Wanda rubbed her head with confusion. "I just– why didn't you tell me the truth from the start?"
I swallowed hard, avoiding her stare. "It was my fault this happened and I didn't want to give you another reason to say I told you so... I'm immature and do stupid stuff, and this is one of those stupid things. You were right. I thought we could fix it before anybody knew the truth."
Wanda's expression didn't falter, and I couldn't tell if she thought I was a complete idiot like she thought once before, or if she pitied my idiocy and was glad to have dodged a bullet. Either way, it wasn't good.
"This was very irresponsible," she finally said, looking between us both. "And it can't wait until Strange comes back. I'm going to get in touch with him with my magic and he's going to fix this now."
Kate and I nodded shamefully, and she sighed.
"He isn't going to be happy," she added with a frown.
Tumblr media
Later that afternoon, Wanda had managed to call Doctor Strange back from his mission through a portal. He was angry, very angry, both for the fact that we disrupted his mission and also because we went snooping in his office when he wasn't here.
Poor Kate was trying to take most of the blame despite the fact that she was terrified of him, and I knew she was doing it to help me save face in front of Strange and Wanda, but there was no point and the damage had already been done, so I took responsibility as the elder one of us and made sure Strange directed his anger at me.
After a long and painful lecture about why it was wrong to mess around with magic and drink from glasses with unknown substances, he created the reversion spell and let us ingest that. Unlike the initial spell which wasn't completely finished and so took longer to activate, this one happened instantly and all I felt was a slight pinch in my chest before I blinked and was back in my own body.
"Now I have to get back to finish my mission, but I do not want to hear about either of you messing around in here again," Strange said sternly, glaring at Kate and I.
We both nodded quickly before Wanda nodded to the door and motioned for us to leave. We left his office and went into the hallway before Kate sighed with relief.
"Finally," she said, before patting her own body down and smiling contently. "God, I missed being tall."
"I definitely didn't miss this gun wound, fuck," I said when I realised what that aching in my shoulder was. Despite the fact that it had healed most of the way, it still hurt like mad, but maybe that's because I wasn't used to it.
"Yeah, sorry about that," Kate said with a sheepish smile, before losing it when Wanda approached us. Clearing her throat, she looked between Wanda and I, saying, "I feel like you two have plenty to talk about, so I'll leave you to it... and Wanda, sorry if Y/N made things weird between us. I hope it doesn't change the fact that we can still be friends."
When Wanda didn't respond, Kate scrunched her nose and nodded, accepting that as an answer, before leaving the two of us alone. I felt the bundle of nerves in my chest tightening the longer Wanda stared at me.
"I'm sorry about all of this," I finally said, trying to hold her intimidating stare, but unable to for longer than a few seconds at a time. "I hope you don't think I manipulated you or anything, it was never my intention. I just missed you and I couldn't help but want to talk to you, but I couldn't without being Kate. I'm really sorry, Wanda."
She swallowed hard, eyes searching mine. "Is it really you now, Y/N? Not Kate?"
"It's me," I promised her, before taking a leap of faith and grabbing her hand. She let me uncurl her fingers and put them to the side of my head as I added, "Try now."
Her eyes turned red momentarily and she must have got all the evidence she needed because they returned to green in an instant. Before she could remove her hand, I held it there, earning a confused look from her.
"Wait. Just keep looking."
She pursed her lips and nodded, before continuing to look into my brain. This time, I made it known how sorry I was for what I did, but not just for this, for all of it including the breakup and the way I acted towards the bitter end of our relationship. I let her know how my actions this past month were only a poor attempt to make things right between us, and everything I told her about our relationship, myself and her were true, even if it looked like it came from Kate's mouth.
Once she was done, she let go of me and her eyes returned to normal, but she looked even more uncertain than before.
"It's all true," she said quietly. "Everything."
I nodded. "Yeah."
She fell quiet, eyes softening. After a moment of simply staring at me and making my insides turn to mush, she nodded slightly. "Good."
I was surprised when she leaned forward, closing the gap between us with a kiss, but as soon as her hand rested on my jaw and tugged me close, I closed my eyes and fell into it. I'd missed her scent, the taste of her lips, the warmth of her skin pressed to mine – all of it – for so long and my heart didn't know what to do in response other than thump out of my chest. Every sense was heightened with her, and it didn't return to normal until she pulled away after a moment.
Our breath mingled as we opened our eyes, heads close enough to one another that I could make out every fleck of gold in her eyes.
"I'm sorry for what I said to you," she murmured, frowning. "It was cruel and mean and I didn't mean it."
My heart ached at her words. "Me, too. I was just upset and bitter. I shouldn't have given up so easily."
"Me neither."
I stroked the side of her face with my thumb as I thought about it. "Then let's not give up. I miss you so much, Wanda."
Her glassy eyes looked down as she let out a shaky breath. "I miss you, too."
I stepped back slightly, so I could get a better look at her, and let my hands fall to hers, grasping them gently. "If you don't think I'm an idiot for what happened today, then I'd love to take you out to dinner."
She smiled softly, blinking back tears. "I'd like that."
I mirrored her expression. "Great. We can talk about everything then. For now, I'm sorry again for what happened today. And sorry if it weirded you out that Kate tried to kiss you even though it was me. I forgot I was in her body."
She let out a small laugh. "It's okay. I should have figured it out sooner to be honest. You were always checking me out and I genuinely thought Kate was suddenly crushing on me. It was very strange."
I felt my cheeks grow warm as I looked down with embarrassment. "My bad."
"I won't hold it against her," she promised, squeezing my hand gently, before pulling me close. "You, I probably will."
"I'll live with it."
Her smile widened as she found my gaze, before she pressed a kiss to my lips once more. I returned the kiss, reluctant to part from her, before she breathed out softly.
"I love you, Y/N."
I tried not to let my smile get the better of me as I met her comforting eyes. "I love you, too, Wanda."

Man, can you imagine the adorable horror-show/perfection of the whole wedding? Because OBVIOUSLY 90% of it is going to be perfect, but 10% is going to be all of Kate’s old FB buds there to celebrate AND relive the glory days. Never mind whatever happened with Kate’s family (who are homophobes and don’t want to be seen at a lesbian wedding BUT ALSO don’t want to be publicly SEEN as being that homophobic). I have my fingers crossed that Melina punches Derek out.
"Go over it with me again..."
Yelena rests her shoulder against the bathroom door while she brushes her teeth.
"Babe, I got it. We don't need to go over it again."
"Yeah, I heard that before you guys went away for...what do you guys call Tyler again?"
"Master Blaster..."
"Right. That should've been my first warning sign..." Yelena turns around to spit and rinse her mouth. "...that you shouldn't have gone to that Bachelor weekend." Yelena dries her face, shuts the light off, crawls into bed, straddles Kate, and wraps her arms around her neck. "Humor me and go over it with me again."
"No more than thirty-six beers in twenty-four hours. Need to remember that I can't do gin anymore or I end up throwing up on power hose mode like I'm reenacting that scene from The Exorcist."
Yelena grimaces at the mental picture and speaks sarcastically as Kate continues to list things.
"Definitely marrying you for your way with words."
"No hard drugs. What else...OH! Go to the bank and make sure I have enough cash so we can tip the strippers well."
"Fairly certain I didn't say the last one." Kate cracks a smile. "But I'm glad you're thinking about properly compensating the hardworking entertainment you guys are procuring. I'm not going to pretend I didn't know that was going to happen. I know your friends. Just please be respectful...of them and me. That's the only thing I'm asking for on that front."
"Hey. I don't know what they're planning and...yeah, I'm sure it includes...entertainment...but if you say the word, I'll call them right now and cancel the whole thing. That's not what this weekend is about."
"No. I'm not going to get branded as the lame wife before the ring is even on my finger. Besides, you get one last free and sanctioned night of seeing other naked women in your life. After that, it's just me until you die, so...enjoy it. Respectfully. Now, you weren't done with the list. Keep going."
"I don't remember what I said anymore."
"Beer cap, no gin, no hard drugs...and.........you're missing a few things but absolutely the biggest one..."
Kate begrudgingly parrots back Yelena's talking point.
"...and definitely definitely DEFINITELY nothing that will lead to any facial injuries and/or broken bones that might ruin the wedding pictures."
"No injuries. At all. Please, Kate. The fact that you've come back from TWO different pre-wedding weekends all banged up and they weren't even yours is the reason we're even having this conversation. Please don't make me wrap you up before you leave tomorrow. The stitches call last time was bad enough."
"I will be on my best behavior." Yelena arches her right eyebrow. "Okay, I won't, but I will at least promise you I won't come back all sorts of fucked up..."
"I'm holding you to that."
---
It was a surprise to no one with a shred of common sense when Kate walked into her apartment with puppy dog eyes and her left arm hidden behind her back.
It took Yelena TWO seconds flat to clock it. And she was like "JFKEJFKEMFOEKFJWNF KATHERINE ELIZABETH BISHOP THE FUCKETY FUCKING FUCK DID YOU DO SHOW MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
Kate sprained her wrist and broke her pinky and ring finger on her left hand...THE HAND WHERE YELENA NEEDS TO PUT A RING ON AT THE WEDDING.
Kate’s hand is currently on nothing more than a sling and splint, but that’s solely because she insisted no more extensive intervention happen. Doctors wanted to put her arm in a cast given the seriousness of the sprain plus the two broken fingers, but, even as drunk as she was, Kate resisted the mere suggestion. She was like "LISTEN...you don't understand...if I walk into my house with a cast, my fiancée will HANG me, and whatever further damage you're trying to prevent here will be pointless anyway. NO CAST."
---
Yelena doesn't talk to Kate for three days. Nothing. COLD. Mind you, these are three days LEADING UP TO THE WEDDING. It's absolute bedlam around them and Kate gets jack shit. Only the silent treatment. She'll get like twenty texts a day from Alexei that go along the lines of: "Yelena is asking me to ask you..." or "Yelena says you have to be...". Worth noting........KATE CAN'T EVEN TEXT PROPERLY WITH HER JACKED HAND lol. It's all a clusterfuck.
---
Yelena doesn't talk to Kate until she walks into the apartment and finds poor, one-handed Kate struggling to open a jar in the kitchen. Yelena stomps over, opens the jar for her fiancée, then shoves it back into Kate's good hand.
"The week before the wedding. Seriously, Kate."
"I'm sor..."
"I don't want to hear it. I asked you for one thing, Kate. One thing." Yelena turns and leaves. She then stops and turns when she remembers. "By the way, your dad's office called. He and his girlfriend RSVP'd for the wedding today. I'm sure he told your sister, and your sister told your mom because then your mom called me, and they're all coming too. Glad I decided to save those seats, I guess. They're going to show up and see your lovely handy work there. Good job, Bishop. Can't wait to hear you explain that one and see how your father manages to twist it into you being a failure because you're marrying me and I happen to have a vagina. Very much looking forward to being your family's punching bag at my own wedding."
Yelena storms off. Kate hears the bedroom door slam shut, then hangs her head and mumbles.
"Shit."
---
For the next forty-six minutes, Kate stands in that exact spot. During most of that time, she listens to Yelena answer phone calls from the wedding planner, vendors, Melina, or her friends. All about the wedding.
Kate hears Yelena end a particularly frustrating call with the planner about an issue with one of the rental houses. She decides to head to the bedroom where Yelena is currently holed up behind closed doors.
Kate opens the door and Yelena glares at her. They know each other well enough that Yelena can read Kate's face by now. She knows Kate walked in intending to talk, but with the afternoon she's having, Yelena is all talked out. Yelena wants no more Big Conversations today. She doesn't want anyone talking to her at all, actually. Her plans are to crack a bottle of wine open, draw a bath, and go to bed. Nothing else.
"It's not going to go well, so leave."
"No."
"Katherine...you've never been good at listening to what I'm trying to tell you, but right now, I'm halfway to canceling this entire fucking wedding, so leave me alone tonight. Do what I'm asking you one time for a change."
Yelena turns her back to Kate and makes for the bathroom to start filling the tub.
"I'm going to ask my parents not to come."
Yelena comes to a grinding halt and whips her head towards Kate.
"What...?!"
"They're not coming."
"Are you out of your mind? Did you also bang your head when you were fucking up your hand?"
"The wedding is about you and us, not them. I'm not having them show up and ruin it."
"Leave. Please leave the room."
"I'm calling them and telling them not to come."
Kate turns and starts to leave.
"If you do that, the wedding is off."
Kate turns on her heels immediately and stares at Yelena.
"The fuck? Why would you say that?"
"Your family calls to RSVP to the wedding and a few hours later, you call them to uninvite them? Who do you think they're going to blame for that, Kate? Me. They're going to blame me. We sent them invitations, they RSVP'd, they're coming."
"We sent them invitations because I didn't know you felt like this."
"FELT LIKE WHAT?!"
"Like they hate you."
"Did you need the Times to print an Op-Ed about it? Your dad looks at me like he wishes I'd fall into a vat of acid and disappear. They think I ruined your life. I don't 'feel' like anything. That's merely a fact, Kate."
"You didn't ruin my life. You're the best, sexiest, smartest, occasionally funniest thing - but only sometimes...everyone knows I'm the funny one of the two. You're my highlight, and if they can't see that, then they don't need to be there. Seriously, who gets this lucky?! You're smart as hell AND have the looks of a trophy wife??? I hit the Babe Jackpot!”
Yelena is angry enough that she WANTS to keep arguing, but it's kind of hard to find a way to argue with...that.
"It's impressive how you always get SO CLOSE to saying the sweetest, most perfect things and then right at the last second careen right off the road into 'absolutely not' land."
"I think it's probably some faulty DNA strand or something. You should check it out. Make sure I don't pass it down to the kids."
"I should probably get on that. I can't handle more than one of you. It'd send me to an early grave. Or even earlier, I should say. You've shaved years off my life already." They hover in place. "They're coming...your family. They're coming. There's too much shit going on as it is. I can't deal with the drama you calling them would cause. We invited them, they agreed, we deal with it."
"We don't have to. It's OUR wedding."
"Exactly. I want to enjoy it, and if there's chaos and noise happening with them in the background, I won't be able to. I'd rather have them there drinking and eating than angry and causing problems elsewhere."
"But..."
"Can you do as I say? ONE TIME?" Kate nods. "Thank you."
Yelena moves towards the bathroom again. She hasn't forgotten her main task of the night: a bath. She runs the water and starts to fill the tub. She walks out of the bathroom, already removing her sweater. She steps into the walk-in closet with the intention of looking for a set of comfortable pajamas but backtracks and hovers under the doorway in just her bra and skin-tight skirt.
"How's your hand?"
Kate smiles faintly and holds her sling up.
"This thing? Never better. Good as new."
"I'm being serious, Kate."
"Hurts."
"Have you been taking your meds on schedule?" The pause is too long and Yelena can deduce the answer. "Oh, for fuck's sake, Kate. No wonder it hurts. How often are you supposed to be taking your pills?"
"I don't know. A few times a day, I think?"
Yelena sighs.
"Where's the bottle? I should've known......" Kate grabs the two prescriptions she got from the dresser and extends them. Yelena reads the labels. "You need to be taking one of these every four hours and two of these every eight hours. I have seen you take them zero times. Go. Take them right now." Kate doesn't move and mumbles something that Yelena can't understand instead. "What??? Katherine, stop being a baby and go take your meds."
Kate sighs.
"I can't open the bottles with one hand. They're twist caps and you've been mad at me..."
"You haven't taken them because............." Yelena grabs the bottles, twists the caps off and tips the pills out onto the dresser. "Sometimes I think God doesn't exist but then I remember that it has to be some sort of divine intervention that I haven't strangled you yet and the thought leaves my mind."
Yelena closes the pill bottles and heads back to the closet. She desperately needs that bath.
---
Kate is tucked in the guest bedroom's bed. It's where she's slept since the whole hand thing went down. She's scrolling through her phone or at least making a clunky attempt at it with her jacked-up hand. She's still trying to get used to this.
The door opens and Yelena flops from the door onto the bed and giggles. One look at her fiancée and Kate can deduce her state.
"You're drunk, aren't you?"
Kate chuckles
"Uhum."
Yelena nods while clumsily crawling her way up the bed and laying flat on her back because anything else feels like too much effort. She forcefully YANKS Kate by the collar, forcing her to come hover above her so they can be looking at each other while they speak. Kate flops down like a leaf and nothing but a small 'oh' escapes her lips.
"I always forget how Hulky you get when you're drunk. How much wine did you have?"
"Two."
"Two glasses?"
"Bottles."
Kate chuckles.
"Let the record state that I didn't see you consume these bottles, so tomorrow I can't be asked any of the 'why did you let me do this?' and 'why didn't you stop me?' type of questions."
"Nope. No questions."
Yelena jerks Kate down again, a little too violently for how close they are now, and their faces smash together.
"Ow, Yel!" Kate rubs her forehead. "The hell was that for? You don't want ruined wedding pictures, but you headbutt me?"
"No. Just trying to make out with you."
"Banging skulls is NOT how you do that."
"Shhh...c'mehere."
Yelena wraps her hands around Kate's neck and pulls her down towards her lips for what starts like a sloppy, drunk make-out. Under Kate's guidance, it's been redirected into a soft, slow, tender kiss within a minute.
They eventually come up for air and Yelena scans Kate's face adoringly, with no trace of anger in this version of her.
"We're getting married on Saturday."
"I know. I'm very fucking excited about it."
"Yeah?"
"You have no idea. Been wanting to lock it down since that first night."
"Since the first night you met me?"
"Nah...first night I saw your boobs. They sold me on it."
Yelena playfully shoves her face away.
"You're gross."
"You were wearing a white shirt and it had like green edges and a flower pattern."
"What?"
"That first night, when I banged my head on your door...your shirt was kind of off-white with...I don't know what to call them edges...they were green and the pattern was kind of big leafy flowers. I've never seen that shirt ever again, but you were wearing it that night."
"We talked for maybe two minutes. How do you remember what I was wearing?"
"You were barefoot and you were wearing the black fuzzy sweats you used to own. Your hair was in a braid and I also remember thinking you smelled SO FUCKING GOOD."
"It was a Friday. I had an 8 AM, so I probably showered in the morning and it was around midnight. There's no way I smelled like anything."
"You smelled SO good."
"You were delusional."
"No, I promise. I can remember thinking it so well."
"So you basically decided you wanted to marry me after talking to me, smelling me, and looking at my feet for two minutes?"
"In a much less creepy way...yeah...I think so. I don't think I knew I was going to MARRY you. Back then, that's not a thing I believed in, but I knew there was something about you that I needed more of in my life. I just didn't know why. I would hope me chasing you around campus forever would've given that away."
"You really were annoying."
"But I was right, wasn't I?!"
"Uhum!"
"So...yeah...I'm fucking pumped I get to marry you and I'm really sorry that you haven't been as excited about it the last few days because I'm a fuckwad and don't think things through sometimes. I was googling and I can definitely take this off for pictures. I just can't move my hand a lot. It's just a couple hours tops. All I need to do is tape my fingers together, but it should be way easier to hide, or they can even Photoshop the tape out. And I think I can take it all off when you need to put the ring on. I promise I won't cry if it hurts and if I do, people will think it's cuz I'm emotional."
Yelena laughs.
"I'm not putting a ring on your broken finger, you idiot."
"It's our wedding. You can't not put a ring on my finger. That's...kinda the whole point."
"I'll put it on your right ring finger for now. Until your hand heals."
"But that's not where it goes."
Kate sounds dejected.
"Yeah...well, you should've broken the other hand then. Even better, you should've broken no hand at all."
"I didn't break MY HAND."
"Y'know what I meant, Kate...Let's stop talking about the broken hand. I don't wanna get mad again. It's why I got drunk to begin with."
"It's not a broken hand..."
"KATE!"
"I think facts matter! It's a sprained wrist and two broken fingers."
"You're this close to talking yourself out of getting laid tonight."
"Well, I didn't know that was even on the table. You should've mentioned that."
Kate smirks playfully.
"Y'know...I'm also VERY mad that you ruined the honeymoon with this." Yelena taps Kate's splint. "I was planning on having so much crazy, newlywed, honeymoon sex with you. You should see the things I bought to wear. All going to waste now."
"Who says it's going to waste?!"
"You can't move your hand!"
"It's not my good hand!"
"Ruins the fun. I don't wanna feel this touching me while I'm naked. It's all scratchy and weird."
"So what, we're gonna read the newspaper for a month?"
"MAYBE. And that's your fault."
"You literally just said I was going to get laid tonight. How is me getting laid in New York any different from me getting laid in Tahiti or Bora Bora or The Maldives or Singapore?"
"I changed my mind. No sex at all. Not even tonight."
Kate throws the covers off herself, hops off the bed, and ungracefully takes her pajamas off. She's now fully naked. She then crawls back on the bed but doesn't get under the covers. She casually turns her back to Yelena, reaches over to flick the lamp on the nightstand off, and fluffs up her pillow.
"Good night. Sleep well. Love you. Have water, so you're not totally miserable tomorrow." Kate waits. Not even thirty seconds pass before she feels Yelena's hand on her shoulder, pulling her towards her, and forcing Kate on her back. Yelena straddles a naked Kate and her lips are on Kate's neck almost instantly. "Yeah. I thought so."
---
Wedding day.
Glenmere Mansion. About fifty miles outside the city. They've bought out the whole thing since Friday morning, so they had the rehearsal dinner here Friday night and the bridal party/most important guests slept here in anticipation of the Saturday wedding. They will also be sleeping here on Saturday and everyone is leaving on Sunday.
Thirty minutes before they're set to walk down the aisle.
Kate is already in her spiffy suit. Now she's just pacing the room all anxious and nursing a drink, trying to calm her nerves while obsessively running her vows in her head.
A knock on the door pulls her out of it. It's Yelena's Maid Of Honor with the strangest request. Yelena is in the courtyard downstairs and she wants to see Kate. Kate is like "?????? 1) Am I about to get dumped on my wedding day? 2) Isn't it bad fucking luck to see the bride before the wedding???” But the friend is like "Listen, she insisted. Come." So Kate follows her and then the Maid Of Honor leaves her right when they're about to get to Yelena.
"Yel?"
"Turn around!"
"What?"
"Turn around! Turn around! You're not supposed to see me!"
"How am I going to know where I'm going if I'm walking backward?"
"Just do it."
Kate sighs and starts walking backward until she bumps into Yelena. Yelena immediately holds her hand.
"Your hands are cold."
"Yeah. That's because I'm freaking out, Kate."
Kate chuckles.
"Why are you freaking out?"
"I sent someone to go check and your family is here. They're sitting downstairs. They're...here. At our wedding."
"We invited them."
"I know that! But what if...what if your dad...I don't know...what if he stands up and stops it or something?"
Kate cackles.
"He's not gonna do that."
"But what if?"
"Then your dad will probably sock him in the face and we'll carry on."
"What if they talk you out of it?"
"Huh?! Where would you even get that from?"
"I don't know! Freaking out!"
"I'm turning around now."
"DON'T DO THAT!"
"I'm gonna turn around."
"KATE BISHOP! DON'T YOU DARE!"
Kate turns around and Yelena can hear her gasp. She huffs and turns around too. The moment she sees the tears in Kate's eyes, Yelena starts crying too.
"I hate you! Why don't you ever listen to me?! This is bad luck, Kate!"
Kate closes the distance and says nothing before she kisses Yelena.
"There's literally nothing that can happen that will stop me from marrying you today." Kate kisses her again. "Maybe the apocalypse, but even then, I'd tell her to jump to the 'I do' part and we could figure out the end of the world together as wives." Kate kisses her one more time. "Stop freaking out." Kate takes a step back so she can take in Yelena completely and tears fall freely. "Holy shit! You're so fucking hot. Damn. I don't care what anyone says...I'm the luckiest person. No one else."
"I'm hoping your vows are better than 'You're so fucking hot'."
"Only by a little." They both laugh. "I can still ask them to leave. I don't care. If it's going to ruin it for you, then I don't want them here."
Yelena shakes her head and closes the distance between them. She kisses Kate's lips softly then wipes the faint lipstick stain she left behind.
"No. It's fine. You made it better."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
"Should we go get married then?"
"Let's get married, Mrs. Belova."
"That's not...no. It's Mrs. Bishop. We already talked about this?"
"Sure. Okay, Belova."
"Kate Belova does NOT work, but Yelena Bishop does. We had this entire conversation!"
Yelena kisses Kate one last time before turning around and walking away."
"See you soon, Kate Belova."
"Nope. Doesn't work! Doesn't flow! Yelena Bishop!" Yelena turns a corner and disappears. "Katherine Belova...eurgh."
Kate frowns and shakes her head before walking in the opposite direction and heading back to her room.
---
Luckily for Kate, Yelena was fucking with her. That is one of the few battles in their marriage that she does win.
When they walk into the reception two hours later, after the ceremony is done and pictures are taken (she took her splint off and just taped her fingers because she's a good wife who won't ruin the once-in-a-lifetime photoshoot), they are indeed introduced as Mrs. & Mrs. Bishop.
---
They don't do one first dance. Kate suggested they surprise each other with a song so they'd have two back-to-back dances. Yelena had a feeling this would be a disaster, and she wasn't wrong, but she still did it anyway.
Yelena decides on something slow, romantic, and hella heartfelt. She went with Jon McLaughlin's "Speechless". Kate picks.........Sam Hunt's fucking "Body Like A Back Road".
Yelena is like "......no you didn't......" and Kate is like ""Braids in her hair"? "Took me like six weeks to get her number"? Has a sexy ass body? It's pretty accurate!" Lol.
---
Then comes the father/daughter dances. Alexei and Yelena are perfect and touching. Derek and Kate are...well...
The two of them didn't have anything planned outright. Derek didn't decide he was coming until the last minute and it's not like they have the best relationship anyway, so they don't exactly have much to go on. But they did dance to Paul Simon's "Father & Daughter" at Kate's Sweet Sixteen, so she was like, "Let's just do that again???"
Kate and Derek get up and the song starts. They don't say anything for the first thirty seconds and then Derek speaks.
"You could've at least worn a dress if you were going to do something like this."
"Dad...seriously..."
"You're already playing the part of a man. You don't have to look like one too."
"I'm not doing this with you today."
"I don't think expecting to see my daughter in a wedding dress is unreasonable."
"I don't think expecting my dad to at least congratulate me on my wedding day is unreasonable either, yet here we are. Both of us lose."
"I won't congratulate anyone on a mistake."
Kate leans back from the hold position she was in to stare directly at him.
"Why did you come then? Why are you here?"
"I thought I'd raised you better than this. I still hoped you'd come to your senses. I wanted to be here for support when you did."
"You don't know me at all."
Without making any more of a fuss, Kate leaves Derek standing on the dance floor and heads for the door.
Yelena, who had been having a quiet conversation with Melina, immediately turns. After half a second, she goes after Kate.
Derek tries to play off the embarrassment and returns to his seat.
---
Yelena finds Kate standing perfectly still with her one good hand in her pocket by the edge of the fountain that splashes at the center of the expansive garden.
"Hey..." Yelena cups her now wife's face with both her hands and gently tips it down to look at her. "Hey. How hard do you need my dad to hit him?"
Kate faintly laughs.
"How hard do you think it will need to be to knock the stupid out of him?"
"Hard to gauge. We can tell him to try a few times?"
Yelena wraps her arms around Kate and presses her head into the taller woman's chest. Kate pulls her close and runs her hands up and down her back.
"That might work."
"You okay?"
"Better now." Kate kisses the top of Yelena's head. "I used to worship him. When I was little...he seemed larger than life...I used to worship him. Couldn't wait to be just like him. It's sad how small he looks now."
"I'm sorry you don't have that anymore."
"It's scary because everyone always said how alike we were. I'm terrified I'll eventually turn into him. Promise me you won't let that happen."
Yelena leans back to look at Kate.
"You are NOTHING like him."
"I'm a lot like him."
"Maybe. I haven't spent enough time with him to know about the good parts, but I know for a fact you don't have any of the awful parts. And if they EVER were to start showing up, I'm right here to kick your ass."
"Good."
"You know I will."
"Zero doubt."
"And..."
Eleanor steps out into the garden.
"Katherine."
"Mother."
"Yelena."
"Eleanor."
The three of them fall into awkward silence.
"What you did to your father in there...Katherine, that was..."
"Oh my god, mom! You and dad have spent my entire life at each other's throats and you're going to pick my wedding day to be on the same side?"
"It was humiliating for him, for you, and for our family."
"Who cares? Who fucking cares?! Maybe he shouldn't be an asshole."
"Eleanor..."
"This is none of your concern, Yelena. This is a family matter. Stay out of it."
Kate steps in front of Yelena and closer to Eleanor.
"Talk to me however you want but watch yourself when you talk to my wife, mom. I won't put up with you disrespecting her."
"Who is this person? I don't recognize you. You were so sweet, respectful, and well-mannered until..."
"Until what? Until what exactly?"
"You know what."
"Right."
Kate pauses for a long second.
"I need you to leave, mom. Suze and DJ are staying. I'll make sure they have a room tonight and a ride home tomorrow, but you need to go. Go inside, grab your stuff, and head out."
"If I go, Susan will come with me."
Kate takes another step closer to Eleanor. Yelena gently squeezes her wife's arm. She knows Kate's little sister is her trigger.
"Suze is staying."
"No."
Eleanor walks away. Kate sees red and is about to chase her mother, but Yelena stops her and pulls her back.
"Let me handle it! Let me talk to her. Go back inside. Get a drink and hang out with your friends. I'll be right there." Yelena kisses her. "I love you. Let me handle it."
Yelena whispers against Kate’s lips. Kate nods once in response and they go in separate directions.
---
"Eleanor."
"If she sent you to retract herself, it's too late."
Eleanor keeps walking through the gardens and Yelena is after her. It's a good thing she changed into a dress without a train for the reception.
"She didn't send me. Hey...hey." Yelena cuts her off. "I want two minutes with you."
"I'm not interested."
Eleanor tries to bypass Yelena, but Yelena steps in front of her again and this time, her body language makes it clear to Eleanor that she doesn't have much of a choice.
"I see where Katherine has been picking up her bad habits."
"Kate's not around, so let's put it all out there because I'm not into hypocrisy and fake niceness. You've made it very clear that you don't like me and, frankly, I'm not a fan of you. I'll never disrespect you because you're Kate's mother, but I hate the way you treat her. That being said, as far as I'm concerned, despite everything, you're family now, and for my wife's sake, I want peace. Hate me and what I am all you want but don't punish Kate for it. You know what Susan means to her. It's cruel and unfair to keep them from each other because of your feelings. Gay people exist, Eleanor. You keeping Kate from Suze doesn't change it. She is out in the world. She's online. She's already aware. I'm not forcing myself on you. I'm only asking you not to make Kate jump through hoops to see her sister. You're their mother, be better than that. Let them see each other whenever they want without having to sneak around. Let her stay. It might not mean much to you, but I'll personally make sure she has a ride home and will get back to you safely. It would mean the world to Kate to have her here tonight. You're not doing it for me. Can she stay?"
Eleanor stands in silence for a long beat.
"We go to service at noon."
"I will have her home no later than eleven." They awkwardly linger. "I simply want us to be civil at the very least. Kate and I want a family and I'd hate for our kids to grow up in a toxic environment. Don't contribute to that. I would want nothing more than for you to be a part of their lives, but I won't allow it if there's going to be bullshit flying around. I won't."
"I don't like threats, Miss Belova."
"It's Mrs. Bishop now and I'm not threatening you, Eleanor. I'm telling you that I will protect my children the way you think you're protecting yours. They're two very different things." Silence. "Can we agree on civility then? For Kate's sake."
"Good evening, Miss Belova."
Eleanor walks away. A frustrated Yelena takes a centering breath and exhales loudly before walking moments behind her. Within seconds she passes Eleanor on the way to the entrance.
"It's Mrs. Bishop."
Yelena keeps walking.
---
When Yelena enters the venue, she finds Kate sitting in Eleanor's chair, between her sister and her brother. She's nursing a drink and laughing at something Suze said. Kate immediately spots Yelena when she walks in and stands, but Yelena is heading her way.
A few people try to stop her and congratulate her and Yelena politely excuses herself as quickly as she can. During that time, Eleanor also walks back into the room. Now they're both unofficially racing to reach Kate first. Much to Yelena's chagrin, Eleanor reaches her a few seconds before she does and starts collecting her things from the table. Kate's eyes are flying back and forth between her mother and Yelena, who is still a few steps behind.
"Your sister and brother are staying." Yelena finally arrives and stands next to Kate. Kate immediately wraps her arms around her wife's waist. Eleanor finishes hastily collecting her things. "Miss Belova promised to have them home by eleven, so we can make the noon service."
Yelena clenches her jaw at the sound of her maiden name but bites her tongue.
"Yeah. We can do that."
"If we stay, where are we sleeping?"
Susan jumps in to ask.
"I got it. Don't worry." Kate chimes in and turns her attention back to her mother. "Thank you. It means a lot."
Eleanor turns on a fake act.
"I want you to know that I sat her down and had a really long conversation about how important it is to me that we're civil and that she doesn't contribute to any toxicity between us. She agreed, didn't you, Miss Belova?"
Yelena could knock this woman out cold right now.
"Uhum."
"That's amazing. Thank you, mom."
"Of course, sweetheart." Eleanor kisses Kate's cheek. "I'm exhausted, so I'm going to head out."
"Absolutely. Thank you for coming. Have a good night."
Eleanor says goodbye to Susan and DJ and heads out. Kate immediately hugs Yelena,  kisses the side of her head, and whispers into her ear.
"Thank you." Kate leans back to look at Yelena. "And don't worry, I know how my mom works. I have no doubt in my mind that conversation she's taking credit for actually happened the other way around." Kate kisses her. "You're fucking amazing."
"I almost killed her two seconds ago."
Kate laughs.
"She pretended she was leaving because she was tired, not because I asked her to leave. She twists everything in her favor. You'll get used to it."
"We're in for a ride, aren't we?"
"Crazy as fuck."
Yelena looks around the room, trying to spot Derek and figure out how to deal with him next.
"Where's your dad?"
"I asked him to leave too. Thankfully he's a lot less dramatic than my mom, so he simply grabbed generic girlfriend number five hundred and seventeen and was gone. I don't know that I'll be hearing from him soon...or again."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine...nothing I'm gonna worry about tonight. We have a party to enjoy, no? I have so many more bones I can break."
"I will tie you to a chair if you make me. No more injuries before the honeymoon..."
Kate laughs.
"I make no promises."
Kate jokingly answers. Yelena takes the drink from Kate's hand and finishes it herself in one gulp.
"Cutting you off."
"Nooooo."
"Uhum. No more for you."
One of Kate's friends is walking by with a beer and Kate grabs it from his hand. She playfully extends her arm and lifts her chin all the way back, putting the bottle entirely out of reach from her wife. She chugs the remainder of the bottle.
"Whoops."
Kate shrugs.
Having seen this and getting high school flashbacks, her friends start chanting.
"KEG KATE! KEG KATE! KEG KATE! KEG KATE! KEG KATE! KEG KATE!"
One of them rushes to the bar and asks the bartender if they have kegs or just bottles. It turns out they do have kegs.
Suddenly, a keg is flying onto the dance floor and a dozen dudes are hoisting Kate in the air. Yelena is giving her "Don't you dare eyes!" but Kate shrugs and smiles two seconds before the guys tip her over into a keg stand. Kate's half of the party cheers. Yelena's half of the party looks on mildly horrified.
Kate chugs for an impressively long time before she coughs and they let her stand.
"SHE'S STILL GOT IT, BOYS!"
Kate is jerked around in celebration. One of the guys tries to take the keg back, but someone screams.
"Leave it! Leave it! Keg Kate doesn't do just one keg stand in a night!"
The friends around her start to talk over each other.
"We should've brought pong balls!"
"I got golf balls in my trunk! Might as well bring back Beer Pong Bishop too."
"That might work!"
"I'll get 'em."
And the dude runs out. Yelena cuts through them and pulls Kate aside.
"You're not about to turn our wedding into a high school or college party."
"It's just a little fun."
"I've seen how you all have fun."
Kate stares at Yelena curiously and squints when a thought occurs to her.
"You've never done a keg stand, have you?"
"Katherine..."
"Hey, guys...can you believe Keg Kate's wife has never done a keg stand..."
In a second, Kate’s friends all swarm Yelena, and before she knows it, she's in the air.
"KATE!"
Yelena is upside down on the keg and Kate squats to hold the hose and look at her. She has a smile painted on her face.
"The moment they put me down, you're dead."
"Are you really down to be a young widow?"
"YES!"
Kate puts the hose to Yelena's lips and begins the chant.
"CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!"
Yelena drinks and then releases the hose. Beer goes everywhere before Kate shuts it off. The guys put her back on her feet. Yelena punches Kate's shoulder.
"Ow! You're not even drunk yet. Where's the aggro Hulky coming from?!"
Kate dries the beer that spilled on Yelena's face with her sleeve.
"If you ever let your friends put me upside down again, you're permanently moving to the guest bedroom."
"That was fun. Admit it." Yelena glares at Kate. "You kinda loved it...you did!"
"I didn't HATE it."
Kate grabs her face and kisses her.
"YOOOO...she wants another spin on the keg!"
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I SA..."
Yelena is upside down again. Kate squats again and holds the hose to her lips.
"I hate you with every fiber of my being right now."
"You really don't. Take a deeper breath so you can go longer." Kate lifts her arm so Yelena can hold it. "Squeeze when you want me to stop. CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!" Yelena squeezes Kate's arm and Kate removes the hose. "Put her down."
The guys flip her back onto her feet. Yelena punches Kate's shoulder again. Kate rubs it.
"You're going to break my shoulder next!...Wanna go for another spin?"
"Only if you want to leave here on a stretcher."
"CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!"
Kate and Yelena turn around to see Alexei being held upside down with the hose in his mouth. Yelena punches Kate's shoulder anew.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"
"My dad?! Doing a keg stand?! At our wedding?! That is your fault."
Kate flips Yelena around so they can both turn to face the keg and presses the shorter woman against her chest while wrapping her arms around her waist. She brings her lips to her ear.
"You love that I bring a little chaos to your life."
Yelena leans her head back to look up at Kate and smiles.
"I do."
Kate leans to meet Yelena's lips to kiss her.
"CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!"
When they look up to figure out who the hell could be at the keg right now, they find Melina upside down and Alexei holding her by himself.
"KATE!"
---
"KATE!"
Kate hears Yelena scream from the kitchen.
"FIVE SECONDS! Your mommy is so impatient."
"Papiem."
"Exactly. Always rushing us. Always"
The almost two-and-a-half-year-old blonde girl with bright green eyes and features that mimic Yelena's babbles in response from where she sits on the changing table. Kate stuffs the last few things in her bag and zips it up.
Kate taps the tiny snapback on Alexia’s small head with a silly popping sound, then pokes her index fingers into her pudgy sides, making the little girl devolve into a fit of giggles. Kate slings the bag over her neck, then grabs the toddler and perches her on her shoulders. The baby places her tiny hands around Kate's head, keeping herself in place. Kate holds her hand against the little girl's back for an extra layer of safety.
"You ready?"
"YAH!"
Kate zooms full speed out of the nursery. The baby laughs at the top of her lungs and it echoes through the apartment.
---
The two girls reach the kitchen, run around the island, and then do a lightning-fast lap around Yelena. The older blonde sighs as she does her best to avoid them while getting the last few things she needs to complete in the kitchen.
Kate and the baby eventually stop by the doorway and that's when Yelena turns to face them.
"Absolutely not."
Yelena, now almost five months into their third pregnancy, takes one good look at Kate and their daughter and shakes her head. They're dressed identically in basketball shorts, a wife beater, a snapback, and vans.
"What?"
"Go change. Both of you. We're already late, Kate. Why are you doing this to me?"
"What's wrong with what we're wearing?"
"You know EXACTLY what. I'm not wasting words on it."
"One, it's ninety six degrees outside. Two, she's going straight to your parent's house. Three, we're getting in a car and driving four and a half hours to the mountains. Why do we need to be dressed in any specific way?"
Yelena leans against the counter and rests her hand on her growing stomach.
"Kate...we're going to be stuck in a car for five hours and I don't want to be mad at you for those five hours. Please at least put shirts on."
"But WHY?!"
Yelena huffs, walks towards Kate, and takes the baby that sits on her shoulders.
"Your momma may be okay with looking like a vagrant, but I won't let you do it too."
Yelena tells the baby while peppering her face with kisses as she walks to the nursery.
"I don't look like a vagrant! I just choose to be comfortable!"
Kate heads to the nursery. She finds Yelena flipping through the little girl's closet, trying to find a more appropriate outfit.
"Hey Alex, can you tell mommy you love your shirt?" The baby babbles something that remotely ends in something that resembles ‘shirt’. "There you go. Big fan."
"She can have a say in what she wears when she's potty trained and can at least count to ten. Until then, I'm exclusively picking her outfits. You lost your privileges today."
Yelena selects a nice color-coordinated outfit and a headband.
"She's going to your parent's house..."
"And they might want to go out. If she's ready, they don't have to change her...Up, baby."
The baby lifts her arms, and Yelena removes her shirt, then quickly replaces it with the new one.
"What if they don't go out?"
"Then she wasn't walking around in a wife beater and basketball shorts."
"You overthink things."
"And you underthink them." Yelena continues changing the baby. "Kate, I'm asking you one last time, please at least go put a shirt on."
"You're a tyrant." Kate disappears from the doorway. Not two minutes later, she reappears, buttoning up a short-sleeved shirt. "World War III  averted now?"
"See how much better you look?" Yelena moves the baby from the changing table to the floor and she immediately takes off running out of the room. "ALEX!"
Yelena is about to go after Alexia, but Kate wraps her arm around her midriff at the door and pulls her close.
"Why are my wife beaters your biggest nemesis in the world?"
Yelena chuckles.
"You don't look like an adult wearing them."
"Who cares?!"
"I've told you, you can wear them at home but not outside."
"I don't need to wear anything at home. That's the fun of being home. I can be naked if I want."
Yelena rolls her eyes.
"I need to go get the baby. We're so late."
"Yel, she'll be fine for two seconds and literally no one is waiting for us. YOU made an arbitrary schedule that you want us to meet. We're off for a week. Shut down your science, work, spreadsheet, serious brain mode. It's our anniversary. Relax. That's the whole point of this week, no? Why is there a fucking schedule to begin with?"
"Because without a schedule, there is chaos. YOU are chaos. Someone has to keep us on track, and by process of elimination, that is me."
"Embrace the chaos this week."
Yelena laughs.
"I wasn't built for chaos. Besides, all I want to embrace this week is uninterrupted sleep and having uninterrupted sex when we're not enjoying said uninterrupted sleep. No chaos. Opposite of chaos. Peace, quiet, and no baby."
"Technically, there is a baby coming."
Kate tenderly places her hand on Yelena's stomach.
"This one doesn't jailbreak out of the crib, crawl into our bed, and kick us in the face in the middle of the night yet. I'm not counting it."
"Yeah, okay. I'll give you that."
Kate scans Yelena's face attentively.
"You're staring."
"I am."
"Why?"
"Because all this...a wrong door. If I'd knocked on another door, or I'd gone one building over, or you hadn't been home...but now we're here...married eight years this week, thirteen years total, two babies, and a miscarriage deep. I stare because sometimes it feels crazy. Would you change it?"
"Not a minute."
"Not even when I drive you crazy?"
"I'll revise my answer. I'd change the minutes when my wife drives me crazy and doesn't listen to me, which are arguably a lot of minutes." Yelena leans up and kisses Kate. "No. I wouldn't change it. Nothing. You genuinely make me consider filing for divorce at least once a week, but then I remember I don't think I can exist without you and the thought leaves my mind."
"Wow, does that mean I can do ANYTHING?"
Kate smiles mischievously.
"Don't push your luck, Kate Bishop."
"But what if..."
The sound of things tumbling then shattering and a small "Uh Oh!" comes from the front of the apartment. They both sigh and rest their foreheads against each other's.
"Go get your demon child. Go..." Kate laughs as Yelena shoves her wife, sending her to investigate whatever disaster their toddler had just created. "You better hope this one turns out level-headed and composed like me, or I'm packing my shit and leaving the three of you here to be chaotic entities by yourselves. I can't do three of you. My blood pressure can't handle it."
Kate disappears and Yelena hangs behind when she notices that her wife didn't put away the clothes that she took off the baby. She sets on folding that and returning it to where it belongs. She then starts to notice all the small things Kate left out of place when she was getting the baby ready.
"My god, Kate."
Yelena starts to tidy up.
---
Fifteen minutes later, Yelena is heading to the front of the apartment. It's eerily quiet, which she's learned is never good in this house.
When she steps into the living room, she finds the source of the noise. Alexia pulled the bottom shelf of one of the bookcases and everything on it came tumbling down. Everything is still on the floor and neither her daughter nor her wife are anywhere to be found. Suspicious. Very suspicious.
Yelena keeps walking and that's when she hears Kate's hushed voice coming from the kitchen. She walks slower to be able to hear better over the sound of her steps.
"...but you have to clean your face and wipe your clothes. And you definitely can't snitch. She'll kill me. You two can't snitch eit..."
When Yelena walks into the kitchen, she finds Kate holding the transparent plastic container where they store the graham crackers. The baby is currently standing on the kitchen counter, double-fisting crackers. Kate is caught red-handed also feeding crackers to the two expectant dogs wagging their tails at her feet.
"KATE!"
The foursome immediately freezes when they look up to find Yelena in the doorway.

Giggles and gasps lighten the morning air as you take those first steps outside. The grass is still wet with morning dew and it dampens the hem of your dress, but you cannot bring yourself to care as the laughter of your children surrounds you.
“You can’t catch me!” Your daughter declares, laughing loudly as her steps quicken on the slick grass.
A quiet smile crosses your face as you watch the scene unfold in front of you.
Your daughter, Violet, continues to laugh wildly as Benedict grabs her from behind, lifting her onto his shoulders. She settles there quickly; having spent a lot of time on Benedict’s shoulders when her little legs wore themselves out from running and exploring.
“My love,” Benedict greets, smiling widely at you, “Did you sleep well?”
“I did until I realised I was alone.”
Benedict casts his eyes upwards, gesturing to the four year old currently busying herself with trying to tidy the permanently messy locks of her father. “Someone,” Benedict emphasises with another glance upwards, “Woke up too early and I didn’t want to wake you.”
Your body warms at the obvious love in Benedict’s voice – for you, for his daughter. Close to a decade being married and he has every capacity to reduce you to a lovestruck fool. It’s perfect, really.
Chuckling, you gaze lovingly at your daughter. “Did you wake your father up?”
She nods; not an ounce of apology on her small face as she continues to mess up Benedict’s hair. “I couldn’t sleep anymore,” she defends, “I’m excited to see Grandma Violet.”
“I’m sure she’s excited to see you too,” Benedict comments, reaching for his pocket watch to check the time. “We’ll have to be setting off soon. Are we all packed?”
You nod, meeting the loving eyes of your husband. “The footmen have everything covered. Where is John?”
Benedict gestures to the overgrowth behind him. “He joined us when Violet wouldn’t keep quiet. He shouldn’t be too far behind.”
“I’ll go in search. Get Violet ready for me?”
Benedict nods, smiling down at you before dropping the first kiss of many to your lips. You watch the pair leave; Violet chattering away about the birds singing in the trees before heading off in search for your eldest child.
“John Edmund Bridgerton,” you call out, voice loud in the quiet garden, “Where have you gotten to?”
“I’m over here,” John calls; his dark brown curls popping up between the rose bushes.
“Shall we head inside? We need to get ready to make the journey to London.”
John smiles, making his way to your side. “You look more like your father every day,” You comment absentmindedly, running a hand through your son’s hair.
John flushes at the compliment; his father was an exceptionally strong man as well as incredibly talented in whatever he pursues. “Thank you,” John replies, reaching for your hand to begin the walk back to your home.
---------
Bridgerton House had always grown violet hyacinths; they perfumed the air, making every inhale sweeter than the last. The door to the Bridgerton London home is opened before you get chance to place your feet on the ground after stepping down from the carriage.
Benedict steadies you as you straighten your skirts whilst trying to keep an eye on your children, making sure they hadn’t fallen out of the carriage. The laughter of your children floating on air has the tightness in your chest relaxing.
You take a moment to stand beside your husband, enjoying the feel of his hands on your waist. It had been so long since a moment alone had been found between the two of you; one of you running after Violet before she scared off another governess. Her stubbornness was to be admired, but it made it hard to teach her the basics in terms of literacy.
“Are you alright?” Benedict asks, noticing your hesitancy.
You smile widely at the love of your life. “I’m fine, my love. I just wanted to be close to you.”
Benedict’s face softens at your confession; he would be the first to admit that he found himself missing you even when he was sat next to you. There were no problems in your marriage but being so busy meant that there was little time for the two of you.
Benedict takes your hand; dropping a kiss to the back of it before turning it over and placing a lingering kiss to your wrist, over your pulse point. You gasp at the intimacy of it, your toes curling at the promise in his eyes.
“Mama!” Violet cries, taking your hand and dragging you through the house in the direction of the portrait gallery with all her might.
You chuckle, turning to Benedict with a helpless look on your face. He holds his hands up, letting you take the lead with your headstrong daughter. “I shall announce our arrival,” Benedict laughs, blue eyes focused on the way his daughter’s slippers slip and slide on the marble tiles of the entrance hall. “John,” He calls, “Would you like to join me?”
Imperceptibly, John takes a step in your direction. An incredibly smart but shy boy from birth, you sometimes worried over his place in the loud, boisterous family of the Bridgertons. “If it’s okay, I want to see where mother and Violet are going.”
“Of course,” Benedict smiles, ruffling John’s hair, knowing how he needed to get used to a new environment before feeling comfortable.
Benedict presses a kiss to your mouth and then to your cheek before taking the steps two at a time to hurry to the drawing room where he can greet his mother and siblings before answering their questions about your whereabouts.
Letting yourself be led through the ornate home of Violet Bridgerton, you can’t help but smile at the determinedness of your daughter. Her little feet stomping away on the marble tiles as she pulls you to the portrait gallery – her favourite place in the whole house bar her grandmother’s knee.
The gallery hasn’t had a new addition to its walls in years; the last painting being of Anthony and Kate on their fifth anniversary. Violet saw it as fitting that their London home had an up to date portrait of Viscount and Viscountess Bridgerton. Anthony had argued, but one look from his mother had him falling silent – knowing a losing battle when he sees one.
Generations of Bridgertons line the walls; their famous blue eyes watching the latest generation walk the halls of their once home. John remains silent by your side as he meets the gaze of the men of which his name is descended; if he feels their pressure at such a young age, he doesn’t say.
One painting catches your eye. A young woman and her husband; his hand is resting on her shoulder as she remains seated. They both stare out of the painting; their eyes filled with the stories of generations passed but utterly silent on the matter.
“Who is this?” Violet asks, effectively distracted by the bright colours of the painting.
“That’s your Great Aunt Billie and her husband,” You comment absently, mind occupied with Billie Bridgerton’s eyes.
“Have we met her?” John asks, hand reaching for yours.
“You have, John. She and the Rokesby clan came to your christening. I doubt you remember, you were so young, my darling.”
John flushes at your use of his childhood pet name. Not even ten years old and he was already growing too old for such things, but you didn’t care – he would always be your darling, your first born, the very boy that made you a mother.
“Where are they now?”
“I suppose they are still at Crake House in Kent. We should have to pay them a visit the next time we visit your Uncle Anthony.”
“Can we?” Violet asks, her Bridgerton blue eyes wide with promise and excitement.
“If your father allows it, I see no problem with it.”
The children seem placated at that. With their hands in yours, you make your way to the drawing room where the rest of the family have gathered. Benedict spies you immediately despite being deep in conversation with Colin and Hyacinth; his body and soul finetuned to your presence – feeling uplifted when you’re beside him, feeling as if he was missing a vital part of himself in your absence.
“Grandma Violet!” Your youngest child cries, launching herself for the skirts of the Bridgerton matriarch. Her small arms barely make their way around the legs of the elderly woman who cannot contain her amused giggle at the exploits of her granddaughter. Instead, she gathers young Violet in her arms, placing her on her knee to get a better look at her.
“You have grown,” The matriarch murmurs, brushing back the dark brown hair of her granddaughter.
“John!” Anthony calls, drawing the attention of his nephew. Releasing your hand, John crosses the room to talk to his beloved uncle; the topic of conversation, you know not but they both look incredibly animated and devoted to the matter.
“Where were you?” A low voice sounds in your ears, making you jump. The voice turns amused as a low chortle escapes your husband’s mouth. “I’m sorry, my love,” he offers in apology as an arm wraps itself around your waist, tugging you closer to him.
“If you must know, we were in the portrait gallery.”
“What drew you there?”
“Your daughter,” You comment, tone amused.
Benedict moves to inquire further but is cut off but the gong signalling that dinner has been served. At once, the family moves as one – all ravenous and desperate to begin their meal.
“(Y/N)!” Colin calls out, catching up to you on the way to the dining room.
“Colin,” You greet fondly, “How is married life?”
“Wonderful,” Colin sighs, “Penelope is… Penelope is wonderful.”
You laugh, elbowing the third eldest Bridgerton. “Surely, you remember the early days of your marriage,” Colin states, “The honeymoon period.”
“It doesn’t leave you,” You reply, catching sight of the love of your life just ahead of you. His head is bent as he reaches for the hand of your daughter; her whole hand wrapped around one of his fingers. It sends your heart into a tizzy as you inhale sharply; the love you feel for Benedict Bridgerton could rival the love of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, of the sonnets written by William Shakespeare himself.
“No,” Colin comments, glancing between you and Benedict, “I don’t suppose it does.”
------------
Dinner with a large Bridgerton crowd was never a quiet feat; conversations flowed in every direction. Societal propriety non-existent as everyone spoke over each other; happy to have the company of their siblings, nieces and nephews, sons and daughters.
“Anthony,” You begin, reaching for your glass as you draw the attention of the head of the family, “When would you next be at Aubrey Hall?”
“Kate, the children, and I travel back in two days. Why?”
“We were in the portrait gallery earlier. Violet was rather taken with a portrait of Billie Bridgerton and her husband, George. If Benedict has no qualms, could we travel with you? I think Violet would like to meet them.”
Anthony beams; rather liking the idea of bringing the Rokesby’s back into their lives once more. “I must admit that I haven’t travelled to Crake House in a long time. What a terrible nephew I must seem.”
Violet frowns, picking at the food on her plate. “What a terrible sister-in-law, I must be. It must be close to a year, probably longer since I’ve seen Billie and George. Longer since I’ve seen Edward and Cecilia.”
“That does it,” Anthony declares, “We shall all travel to Aubrey Hall before dropping in on Crake House.”
Meeting Benedict’s eyes across the table you smile at the clear affection written on his face. “You have no objections do you, my love?”
He shakes his head. “Never, my love.”
Turning your attention to Anthony, you nod your affirmation. “Should we write in advance of leaving here?”
Anthony wipes his mouth with his napkin. “I’ll send a missive with the morning messenger; if I tip generously then there shouldn’t be an issue.”
“I’m sure they won’t mind,” Violet adds absently, “I just can’t believe I’ve left it this long. I’m so rarely in Kent and they never journey to London.”
Colin reaches to his right, placing his hand on top of his mother’s. “They will more than understand. Aunt Billie was father’s sister after all. I think even Aunt Billie finds it hard to return to Aubrey Hall.”
“Then it’s decided,” Benedict smiles, “We shall journey to Aubrey Hall and get settled there before descending on Crake House.”
“Do you think Gregory would like to join us?” You ask, thinking of your youngest brother-in-law.
“He’s in his final term at Oxford,” Colin replies, “He’s sitting all number of exams right now, I don’t think he’ll have the time.”
“A shame,” Anthony comments, thinking of his youngest brother and the stress he must be under, “But I’m sure he can complete the journey in the summer.”
“He always was Aunt Billie’s favourite,” Benedict states darkly. You raise your eyebrows at your husband in question. “Gregory struggled with the pronunciation of some plants when he was a child; Aunt Billie thought it was adorable,” He explains, sounding far off as if trapped in a memory of his youth.
Smiling widely at your husband’s tone, you coo, “I’m sure Violet will be her new favourite when we explain what inspired our visit.”
Dismissing all social expectations, Benedict rounds the table, reaching for your hand, pressing a long kiss to the back of it before stating loudly. “You, my love, are a genius.”
“It has been said before,” You laugh, watching your husband return to his seat with promises of the night alight in his eyes. His eyes remain bright as he gazes at you over the rim of his wine glass, no longer paying attention to the conversation pertaining to the history of the Bridgertons and Rokesbys. Instead, his gaze remains fixed on you as he thinks of all the good you have brought to his life – loving him, marrying him, bearing his children. His love for you is endless, and he’ll spend the rest of his life proving that to you.
--------
Crake House was just as grand as Aubrey Hall. The Rokesby’s gaining the favour of the monarch in the seventeenth century leading to an earldom and a rather large estate that bordered on the Bridgerton’s at Aubrey Hall. From then, the two families had been intertwined – as close as two families could get.
“It’s very big,” John comments quietly to Benedict as they leave the carriage.
“Don’t let that intimidate you, John,” Benedict says, “There’s nothing to be worried about.”
As Benedict finishes his sentence, the door to Crake House is pulled open by a strong hand. Deep blue skirts are the first thing you see, and you know that Billie Rokesby nee Bridgerton has arrived.
“Bridgertons!” A feminine voice cries, “I have Bridgertons on my doorstep once more!”
“Billie,” Violet sighs, a fond smile on her face as if the sound of her sister-in-law’s voice has transported her back to times long thought of as memories.
“Anthony Bridgerton,” Billie admonishes as she hurries down the stairs, her elderly frame not a hindrance to her speed whatsoever. “How long have you taken residence in Aubrey Hall? How long has it been since you came to see me?”
“Aunt Billie,” Anthony murmurs, “I don’t suppose you could ever forgive me.”
Billie Rokesby nee Bridgerton eyes her nephew; looking him up and down before taking his face in her strong hands. “Are you well, my boy?”
For a moment, tears shine in Anthony’s eyes as he is reminded of his departed father. He nods wordlessly; trying to get a grip on the feelings rushing through him at the love that emanates from Billie. “I’m well, Aunt Billie.”
Billie nods, stepping back, clearly happy at the information offered by Anthony. She casts her shrewd gaze over her brother’s family; happiness alight in her eyes as she takes sight of your daughter, hiding behind your skirts.
“Who do we have here?” She asks, stepping closer to Benedict and yourself.
“You met John when he was just a babe in arms, but Violet is our youngest,” Benedict introduces, an arm wrapped loosely around your waist.
“Violet?” Billie gasps, dipping at the waist, “Violet Bridgerton, it is an honour to meet you.”
Violet giggles from where she has her face hidden in your legs. You reach down, tapping her on the shoulder. “Come now, sweetheart. Let’s say hello.”
Violet peeks her face out of your skirts, her blue eyes meeting the kind, aged ones of Billie. Violet curtsies, remembering her manners despite her age. “I saw your painting at Grandma’s house.”
“Which one?” Billie asks gently, eyes flickering to the Bridgerton matriarch. “Please tell me it wasn’t the one that Edmund commissioned as an anniversary gift for George and myself.”
Violet Bridgerton covers her mouth to stem the laughter that threatens to bubble over. “The very same.”
Billie huffs, turning to you, “I was six months pregnant, and Edmund thought I would want nothing more than to sit for a whole day with nothing to keep me company.”
“I think you look wonderful,” Your daughter compliments, tripping up on her pronunciation of ‘wonderful’.
Billie’s eyes shine with happiness, “Thank you, my dear.”
“I think our guests might like some tea,” An exasperated but fond voice calls from the doorway. Billie’s face softens at the sound of it; she turns to her husband, finding him watching her with a loving smile on his face.
“They aren’t guests, George. They are my family, and by marriage, your family.”
“All the same, I’m sure they would like something to drink and to rest a little.”
Billie pouts, knowing a losing fight when she saw one. You take in the sight of the pair; their hair had greyed over time, their face becoming wrinkled but their love – it was so palpable, it could be felt in every aspect of their conversation and every expression they sent each other.
Billie and George manage to wrangle the whole Bridgerton clan into their drawing room with promises of food, tea and stories of their mother’s youth. Violet pales at such a promise but Billie’s hand on her arm steadies her.
Your children, John and Violet, join their many cousins on the carpet. They all sit cross legged, eyes intently focused on the elderly couple sitting on the pale green couch. Billie gestures animatedly as she begins one of her many adventurous stories. George leans further back into the cushions, happy to let his wife regale his extended family with the very story of how they had fallen in love. A story told many times, but a story he would never tire of hearing, especially not from his beloved wife’s lips.
You watch all of this from where you sit, perched on the window seat. You smile at the sight of Anthony, Colin and Hyacinth watching Billie with nothing short of wonder written on their faces as they are reminded of the aunt that had explained the way of the land before they had truly understood what it meant to be part of a family with such a large responsibility.
Benedict joins you on the window seat, crossing his legs at the ankles as his heart sings at the sound of his children’s laughter. Silently, he reaches over to take your hand in his. He rests your tangled hands on his thigh; needing you close for a reason he cannot seem to find the words to explain.
“I love you,” You whisper, needing him to hear the words that have begged to be released since you had rolled up to Crake House.
“I love you too,” Benedict responds, his hand tightening around yours.

Routine Procedure pt. 5
Over the next couple of days, it was actually abnormal for Kate not to give me some special attention down there during a diaper change. Just woke up? Let's try using my vibrator on your soaked diaper. Need a change before lunch? How about reverse cowgirl while laying there on top of your fresh diaper. Time for your night diaper? Bedtime blowjob.
Don't get me wrong, Kate and I have always had a very good sex life, but this past week was unlike any other.
On Saturday, in the middle of a mid-afternoon change, was when Kate suggested we try getting out of the house for a bit.
"You really soak through these diapers quick, Mike. We're gonna have to see about getting some more soon."
"I suppose we should, right? I mean, they're working infinitely better than that condom thing," I said as I was laying back while Kate took care of wiping me down.
Despite what she had said about showing me how to change myself, she didn't seem to mind taking care of it, and I was in no rush to put a stop to it considering what was in it for me.
"That's very true. There was only that one minor leak you had last night, which I'm sure we can find a way to prevent in the future. I'll put in an order for some new diapers tonight, so they get here by Monday."
Kate secured the last tape and ran a finger along the elastic leg gathers. "You know, that new game store opened up in the mall on the other side of town. What do you say we stop over there and see how it is?"
I froze. Being diapered at home was one thing. Going out in public though.... Kate seemed to know exactly what I was thinking.
"Mike. Earth to Mike. Remember what we talked about? No one is going to be paying attention to the size of your butt or the sound of your pants. And guess what? Even if they do, who cares? You have a medical need to wear diapers. Just like people who have trouble walking use canes, it's a medical thing. You didn't ask to be incontinent."
────────
I looked at myself in the mirror. My jeans appeared to do their job of concealing my diaper.
"You know," Kate popped up behind me in the reflection, "if you're so worried about people seeing, they do make onesies for adults. Just a thought."
I scoffed at her, and we headed off to the mall.
About 30 minutes later, we arrived. I couldn't help but notice that it seemed like there were a heck of a lot more people there than normal. Another 10 minutes later and we were finally able to find a parking space towards the back. As I got out of the car, I made sure my shirt was pulled down as far as it could go. It was all I needed for my shirt to ride up and expose my plastic waistband.
Kate grabbed my hand, but not before giving my padded butt a firm slap. The corner of her mouth turned up ever so slightly, and we walked hand-in-hand up to the mall.
────────
You know that feeling you get when it feels like someone is watching you? Yeah, it did not go away no matter how much time passed as we meandered through the mall.
Our first stop was in the food court, where we grabbed a late lunch of chicken and waffles. Kate went to order the food while I found a spot to sit down.
"All ready," Kate said as she walked up with a tray piled with chicken. "They accidentally made your lemonade a large, and I wasn't about time tell them they were wrong."
"It is the best homemade lemonade in town," I said, grabbing my plate off of the tray.
Kate set the tray down, then went to grab a couple of napkins. A few moments later, I noticed my shirt rising up and the back of my diaper being pulled open. I spun around and swatted the offending hand away, which turned out to belong to Kate.
"What in the hell do you think you're doing?!"
"Giving you a diaper check, what else?"
"We are in the middle of the mall!"
"It's been awhile since you had your diaper changed, and I know you are bad at knowing when you're at capacity," Kate gave me a 'prove me wrong' look.
"I'm fine!! Just... not out in broad daylight, please?" I pleaded.
"Well I didn't even get a chance to properly check just now, but if you say so...."
────────
After stopping in a couple clothing stores, ("Hey, we should think about getting you some new jeans. Those ones seem a little tight all of the sudden.") we finally made our way to the new gaming store. It was like a one-stop shop for gamers, with board games, collectibles, and video games. Towards the back, there were tables setup, where people could break out their games or card decks and hang out for a bit.
Once we had searched down all the aisles, we found ourselves in the back next to the gaming tables.
"Hey, we're looking for two more for Ticket to Ride! Do you guys want in?" said a blonde girl from a table in the corner. She and another girl were setting up the board, getting ready to start.
Kate's eyes grew to the size of saucers.
"Oh heck yes! I never lose at this game!" It was true, she did never lose, and she never let me hear the end of it whenever we played.
An hour later, and it was clear that it was between Kate and Melanie, the blonde girl, on who would be crowned victorious. The other girl and I had all but given up. Seeing that there was no way I could complete all my routes, I had long since resorted to my usual strategy of trying to sabotage Kate.
"Annnnnd 110, 111, 112. I have retained my crown," Kate gloated.
"Oh wonderful," I said, "I can't wait to hear about this all the way home."
"Well played, you two," Melanie chimed in. "Don't worry about cleaning up, we are actually waiting for some friends to come play a round."
"Oh thank you, that's so nice," Kate said as we both stood up to leave.
"Of course! It was nice meet....." Melanie trailed off, staring at my crotch.
Both Kate and I followed her gaze, and it was then that I saw that I'd had a major leak.
Large wet spots had formed down the inside of my jeans, as well as two half-moon  shapes on my butt. Looking at my chair, there was more evidence of my accident, there for all to see.
It was obvious to anyone looking what had happened.
I was speechless.
"Oh shit, we're so sorry! Let me just wipe this up..." Kate said as she frantically wiped the seat down with a tissue.
The girls were equally dumbstruck, as they watched Kate lead me out of the store waddling behind her.
────────
The feeling of eyes on me increased tenfold on the walk through the mall to the car. Without a jacket or anything to cover up with, we moved as fast as we could, whispers and giggles following us out.
In what seemed like an eternity later, we finally made it back to the car.
"I'll get the seats cleaned, don't worry baby, just get in." Kate pulled open her door and got the car started. I didn't need to be told twice, as I practically leaped into the car.
"That...I...I'm so embarrassed...." I was starting to get choked up, tears forming in the corners of my eyes.
"Hey, hey, there there sweetie, I'm sorry. That can't have been fun, I know. It's not your fault." Kate was rubbing my back, the car still in park.
"That doesn't make it any less humiliating! And it's not even like I had a little accident, Kate, my diaper leaked!" I was almost yelling, my emotions getting the better of me.
"Shhhh baby, it's okay, take deep breaths, it's going to be okay. We didn't know anyone there, no one important saw, you'll be fine."
I was still upset, but I listened to her, taking steadying breaths that at least got my heart rate under control. Seeing this, Kate started to back out of our parking spot.
"Let's get you home and into a bath, baby," Kate soothed. We drove on in silence for awhile as I continued to calm down.
I think," Kate broke the silence, "that we might want to consider getting you some thicker protection. Just to be safe, you know? What do you think?"
"I think that means I will definitely be waddling, and it will be obvious to everyone what I'm wearing," I said, staring out the window.
"Well, do you prefer people maybe noticing that you walk a little funny, or running the risk of leaking like happened back there?"
"I don't know Kate, I just...I don't want to think about it."
"I'll take care of it then, babe," Kate said, "those hospital diapers are notoriously cheap anyway. We'll find something that works better for you. And I'll look into some of those onesies, so you don't feel so self-conscious about your diaper sticking out."
"Yeah, whatever," I said, as we continued down the highway.
────────
Kate knew exactly where to look when she logged on to order new diapers.
Let's see, she thought, I think probably a case of ABU Simple Ultra. Maybe a mixed case with some fun prints? No, it was too soon to go all-in like that. I'll just add in another pack of PeekABUs. That's 90 diapers, so at 2-3 diapers a day, that should be good for a month. Better throw in some boosters, too. And set up a recurring monthly order, yes please.
With that order placed, it was then to the ODU website, where she settled on several of their basic onesies.
"All in good time, Kate," she muttered to herself as she looked longingly at all of the cute designs. She could just picture how adorable Mike would look in that dinosaur onesie.
She was so horny right now. The sight of Mike in his wet jeans, his face burning bright red. Her hand slipped down the front of her shorts.
Oh fuck, she thought, he was so humiliated. She rubbed her clit to the image of Mike standing there over the pee puddle on his chair while those girls looked on.
Had she taped on his diaper perhaps a little loose before they went to the mall? Yes.
Had she intentionally ordered Mike a large lemonade? Also yes.
Had she suspected during her impromptu diaper check at the food court that Mike would protest and insist he was fine? Triple yes.
Had she known those flimsy hospital diapers would fail sooner rather than later, and she could talk Mike into something a bit thicker?
Ding-ding-ding, we have a winner.
Kate closed the laptop and got up.
She had a diaper boy she needed to fuck.

Frosty the Snowman
Harry and Y/N love the holiday season but Harry takes the teasing a bit to far and well Y/N decides to give it right back.
Word Count: 5126
A/N: hello! thank you so much to @goldenbluesuit for organizing this wonderful christmas fic challenge. thank you for allowing me to participate, kate. i’m so happy i got to be a part of it. merry christmas and happy holidays to you all. sending you all a big hug and lots of love.
_____
Christmas has never been much of importance in your life.
That was until you began dating Harry.
Harry and his family loved celebrating in particular because Harry was gone for so many months of the year. They loved giving gifts, and Harry loved spoiling his family. He was a true family man who loved to be doted on by his mother and teased relentlessly by his older sister. His smile never leaves his face when he's with them.
Ever since Harry found out how you spent the holidays alone drinking wine and hot chocolate on and off and binging all the best holiday movies. He declared that was not acceptable and that furthermore and until the end of time you would be spending it with him and his family.
The first year was something out of a storybook, a house full of kids and adults, Christmas music all day, and a big festive dinner. Gifts passed around, photos being taken to be added to the end of year scrapbooks. Lots of stories being told; honestly, it overwhelmed you.
Anne found you outside wrapped up in Harry's coat that you swiped before slipping out unseen. She stood next to you, overlooking her garden with you. "My son loves you; he's brought you here not to overwhelm you but to let you know that you have a family here, and you always will." You let your tears run free, feeling comforted, and loved. "I've never seen him shine as bright as he does when he's with you and when he's speaking of you. We all want you here as much as he does." Anne then pulled you into a long hug, the motherly hug you never got growing up.  Reminded you not to stay out too long.
Three Christmases later, you now take part in family traditions, helping Anne cook dinner and staying in sweats and playing family games all of Boxing Day.
It's what makes your move to London with your boyfriend of four years easy. Knowing they want you there, knowing that the love Harry has for you won't fade, you've gone through many hurdles together, and it only strengthened your bond to one another.
Four years together, and you're still learning new things about each other, like Harry having to have coffee first thing in the morning, bread was a must-have always in the house, and that he owned more mugs than he needed. He picked up that you adored your shoes, meaning you wouldn't throw them out until they were ripped and beat up enough for a new pair. Also learned that you rather eat lots of fruit during the day than making food in the kitchen because it meant more dishes that would be needed to wash. You loved doing the laundry, Harry knew it was to steal his shirts, but he didn't mind. He always knew where to find them.
The one thing that really surprised him was your love for Christmas music; you knew every song, maybe couldn't remember the name, but you would be able to sing it. It never failed to make him smile; you even knew ‘Feliz Navidad’ and didn't butcher it as he did.
Your love for Christmas music was signified because you never celebrated the holiday, and music was easy to access. It was what you immersed yourself in.
This is why Harry is confused when he hears you begin to sing ‘Frosty the Snowman’ under your breath, then switching to a soft hum in the tune of the song as you start to place your freshly washed sweats in their drawers.
Harry was not sure why you did that; you loved singing out loud. You had a decent voice, as you liked to say, but why switch.
You're clueless to Harry watching you, deep in thought, trying his best to analyze you.
Then Harry gasps; it all clicks, making sense.
You raise your head to look at him, shutting the drawer with your hip. "What?"
"You don't know the lyrics." Harry accuses.
"To what?" You step towards the bed, wanting to finish the rest of this to finally go down and each lunch.
"Frosty the Snowman."
"I do." You defend.
Harry smirks, crossing his arms. "Prove it."
"No."
"Why not?"
You frown before taking a deep breath and begin to hum the song correctly to Harry.
"Okay, you know the tune, now the lyrics." He gestures for you to go on.
"Frosty the snowman..." Your voice dies down, you rake your brain for the correct lyrics, sending a smaller prayer you're right. "had a shiny nose?"
"Oh, this is golden, love." He's laughing now. It's filling up the room.
"Harry," You whine.
"You call yourself the Christmas Queen." Harry is holding his stomach, his laughter getting to be too much. "Next, you're going to tell me you don't know the lyrics to 'All I Want For Christmas Is You.'"
"How dare you, that came out in our birth year." You're over making fun of you.
"Okay fine, but really so many years, and you never learned. You said you love all Christmas music, and well, that's a classic, dove."
You run a hand through your hair, your fingers getting caught on the tips for not brushing it out. "I never actually got to make a snowman, so I never listened to the lyrics."
"Are you secretly a Grinch as well?" Harry teases.
You throw a balled-up shirt of his and hit him square in the face; it quiets him down. "Conversation over."
You walk out of the room, leaving him alone, to his chuckling.
_____
In your home, something was always baking.
It was either Harry trying to better his last bread or you baking a new vegan cake that Gemma sent you.
It's something you both loved to do.
For you, though, it was your own form of meditation. No matter the time of day, if you felt your head spinning, you'd just head to the kitchen and begin to take out ingredients letting that be your only focus. The Great British Baking Show also brings a lot of comfort to you, Harry happily laying his head on your lap, your hand running through his hair as you just let the show play on and on.
Now, you're in the kitchen for a whole other reason; you're baking gingerbread cookies, from snowflakes to snowman and even little reindeer. Harry has invited friends over for a fun holiday decorating party. It sounded like a good idea until he left you to do it all yourself as he ran errands that he pushed off for a week.
Thankfully, there were no distractions during the time it took you to make one hundred cookies because there would be casualties during the decorating. Just as you were putting the last dozen on the cooling rack, does your phone ring causing it to cut off Paul McCartney's singing of 'Wonderful Christmastime.'
As you pick it up to answer, you check the caller id and see that it's Gemma calling.
Gemma forgoes a greeting and goes straight to the reason for her call.
"You don't know 'Frosty the Snowman!'" She exclaims more than asks.
"I'm going to kill him." You groan into the phone.
Gemma laughs, "No, no, please don't. Mum likes you too much to see you behind bars."
"Gem, he's been relentless." Thinking back to the past few days and how he'd randomly come up to you and just begin to sing the lyrics to you, not shutting up until you tickled him too much to continue. "Please don't let it come up later."
"I've got you," Gemma assures you.
"Thank you."
"As long," Gemma begins, but you groan jokingly into the phone.
"Go on," You sigh, knowing this is how the eldest Styles sibling acts.
"As long as you tell me what Harry bought mum for Christmas."
"Alright, fair." Very well, Harry would most likely spoil this himself the closer the holiday arrives.
Just as you were about to spoil Harry's gift, he walks through the kitchen, saved by the devil himself. "I'll tell you later when you get here." You tell Gemma, smiling at Harry as you bid his sister goodbye.
"Who was it, love?" Harry asks, kissing you lightly on your lips, being able to taste the gingerbread on your lips that makes him beeline to the cooled cookies.
"Gems, a huge birdie told her I don't know the lyrics to a popular song." You lean against the counter, smiling as he has a cookie in hand already; he is also a big reason you made so many.
"Hey," He says, offended, a cookie half shoved in his mouth. "I'm not huge."
"Never said it was you, hun." You smirk. "Thanks for fessing up."
He pouts, not liking that you outsmarted him.
"Might want to watch the cookies." You pinch his love handles, snatching what was left of the cookie from his hand and heading upstairs.
Harry watches you walk away, upset that you stole his cookie; also, he knows you love his winter gains.
_____
You and Harry are up fairly early, he likes to go on a run around the neighborhood, but you like going to the park. This morning you skipped your run because Harry was meeting up with a friend for breakfast.
Sure, you got up at your usual time at 7am and began to prepare yourself breakfast. You usually drank coffee with Harry and seeing as he wasn't here, you decided to skip it, instead going straight to the fridge to get the fruits and orange juice to make a smoothie. Something simple, not wanting to clean much after.
As you finally settled on the couch, getting ready to read Educated by Tara Westover, a book Gemma recommended to her then gifted to her. Tara's memoir is her story of how she comes from a Mormon background and recounts how she educated herself to go to college and learn about the world. It's a Friday, and what better way to spend it lost in a book.
You had just flipped it open when your phone rang, alerting you to a message. As much as you didn't want to check because you were finally in a comfortable position, you knew it could easily be Harry checking in who gets worried about not getting a reply even five minutes after. He's a worrier at heart.
As you retrieve it and settle yourself back down, not at all comfortable anymore, you see it's a message from Iz. She was the first friend you made on your own that Harry didn't introduce you to. Iz saw you at a coffee shop you began to frequent and complimented your tote bag that had wildflowers embroidered on it. You thanked her and shared you made it. Iz was shocked, just throwing compliment after compliment. You offered to make her one, but she said you had better teach her instead. Thus, a friendship began.
Her message read:
Radio 1 Breakfast Show. Listen in!
It was definitely a strange message coming from Iz, but you did as told.
Greg James was saying goodbye to his special guest, no idea who it was. "Before he signs off, he's going to play you one of his favorite Christmas songs," Greg says, then silences, allowing his guest a moment before speaking.
"This week's Christmas song is in honor of my girlfriend who loves singing Frosty the Snowman... without knowing the lyrics. Happy Holidays."
Your jaw drops.
That your boyfriend's voice. You are the girlfriend.
He went on record.
Harry really went on live radio to tell thousands that you don't know the lyrics to a Christmas classic.
You want to laugh because you never expected this from him and are annoyed that something personal now the whole world will know by the end of the day.
You can't wait until he arrives home.
"Harry Edward Styles!" You yell as you hear Harry open the front door.
He looks sheepish. "Yes, my darling angel."
"You told me you were having breakfast with Greg James, not that you were going to be on the Breakfast show."
"I took muffins, and they provided coffee, therefore, breakfast." Harry defends
"You exposed me to all of the UK to not knowing 'Frosty the Snowman.'"
"No one knows you're my girlfriend." Harry tries to brush it off.
"We've been dating four years; I'm not that much of a secret. Anne posts me on her story from time to time, and your friends follow my Instagram, fuck; you've introduced me to Greg." You're not angry, more annoyed than anything because he won't let this go.
"It's just to give everyone a good laugh; no one is going to hold it against you."
"No, just my boyfriend and everyone who listens to the Breakfast Show." You cross your arms before storming up the stairs away from Harry.
"Love? You're not actually mad, right?" Harry asks, pushing the bedroom door open.
"You even got Iz on it!" Your turn around with a pout on your face.
Harry laughs. "I honestly thought she wouldn't go through with it."
"Well, I see where her loyalty lies."
Harry steps close and pulls you into his chest. You sigh, wrapping your arms around him. He knows how much you love his hugs.
"I promise this is the last I mention of it."
You frown into his chest, not at all believing him. Harry pats your bum, and you take that as the queue to look up at him. He's smiling down at you, leaning in to give you a quick peck. "I promise."
"Okay, then." You lean in and kiss him, firmer this time and much longer. Harry sneaks his tongue in, instantly getting a moan out of you.
"I know how you can make it up to me." You gasp, pulling away,
Harry raises an eyebrow at you. "Do tell."
A smirk on both your faces as you guide him to the bed, very much hungry for something that wasn't breakfast.
_____
Harry has the Christmas playlist running; it's a Sunday, meaning they spend it at home doing absolutely nothing. To be truthful, they rolled out of bed past ten and still have their pj's on. Not at all bothering to change, why waste more clothes if no one will see them like this in the comfort of their own home.
You cooked grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and now are playing a game of scrabble.
Harry puts down the word 'light,' then reaching his hand into the black pouch to pick five letters to have seven once again. You are looking back and forth between the board and your letters, thinking of the best place to place your word.
"I've got a question," Harry says, looking at you, wanting all your attention as well.
"What is it?" You're focused on your letters. Rearranging them, not putting down the 'q' in your hand. It's currently useless but will eventually give you a word to win the game. Not that you both ever keep points, oh no, that stopped after you beat harry 120 to 66, and he flipped the board, causing letters to fly everyone. You still claim that there are missing letters.
"Frosty is a cute name."
"Reminds me of that Wendy's dessert. I'm still not sure what made it so good." You say, maybe you should get up and eat some. Harry did just pick up new flavors that he had been wanting to try something about them being richer in flavor.
"You're getting off track."
"Sorry, Frosty is cute for what?" You don't let him answer before you're speaking again. "A dog, did you get a dog?" You pause, looking up at him, "a cat, did Anne find a stray and wants to give them to us?" You wait, but Harry is about to crush all your excitement.
"None of that." He shakes his head at you, and disappointment fills you immediately.
"Well, can this conversation end then? I'm disappointed."
"Darling," Harry chastises you for not letting him go on.
"Go on then, mate." You gesture him to continue. Shifting your attention away from the game in front of you.
Harry frowns, his eyebrows pinching together in the sweet way that makes you want to rub them out until he's relaxed. "Why'd you call me, mate?"
"Oh, I've called you this before." You brush off Harry's reactions; he's always dramatic.
"I'm not your friend." He states.
You furrow your eyebrows and tilt your head and really look at Harry. "Well, of course, you are boyfriend," You emphasize, dragging out the word. "You're my best friend."
"You can't say boyfriend anymore. I'm your fiancé now." Harry states proudly, but you feel a little dumbfounded, not knowing why he is saying that.
Your eyes widen when you look down at your left hand, and no ring rests on your left ring finger.
"Fuck, I missed your proposal, and the ring got lost." You pout, trying your best to stop the smirk from coming out.
"Darling, I'm sorry." Harry quickly apologizes. "I'm still your boyfriend, but I will be proposing soon." He promises. "Shit, you were supposed to not even know. I really am bad at hiding things."
"Fuck, you really are." You laugh, "but boyfriend sounds cute. Can't I still say boyfriend when you do?"
"Doesn't fiancé sound nicer?" Harry tries.
You shrug. "Not as fun, husband is nice."
"You're rejecting my future proposal, then." Harry is teasing, and you can tell by the sparkle in his forest eyes.
"Of course not, you dummy. You can be my fiancé and my boyfriend." You tell him like it was the most obvious answer.
"Seems like a lot of work."
"Rude." You stick your tongue at him.
"Right, love, well try to remember I'm your husband once we're married, no more boyfriend."
"I will, hubby. You're going to be my hubby."
You both go silent.
You burst out laughing, "That's awful, I hate it."
Harry chuckles, nodding his head. "Yeah, I do as well."
"This is why I'm the brains in the relationship."
"Right," Harry rolls his eyes at you, not at all agreeing.
"Uh, darling, I went to uni and got two degrees while you only finished school at sixteen before going off to steal millions of hearts around the world."
"Including yours." He teases.
"I was always more a Zayn girl." You correct him.
Harry throws his arms up, "Can never let me win, can you?"
"Nope"
"We're off-topic." Harry realizing how far they strayed from their starting point.
"Where did we start?"
"Frosty."
You sit back, resting against the couch; you take him in and smile at how cuddly he looks in the purple robe that he stopped letting you use. "Well, go on."
"Seeing as-" He pauses, hearing the familiar opening notes to the song he was thinking of. 'Frosty, the Snowman' is now his favorite song. "Perfectly timed, as you don't know the lyrics to Frosty the snowman."
"Gosh, you're never going to let this go," You grumble.
"Nope. I figured we will have a little fun with this."
"More fun than the breakfast show."
He gives you a pointed look.
You let out a long sigh, "Let's hear it."
"You learn all the lyrics and sing it for me, and I'll let you get us a dog or cat." Harry's grinning at his idea, knowing you'll agree without a fight.
"Can we go to the shelter?" You look like a kid on Christmas morning who had just received their presents from Santa, and in a way, you have.
"Yes, we can. Only if you can learn the entire song." Harry tells you again, wanting to emphasize the singing.
"Done deal."
"Great, I'm giving you a week."
You smile wide, nodding, looking, finally focusing back down at your words and the ones Harry has placed. You put down the word 'queen,' and this wins you the non-official game. Harry looks down at his poorly hidden score sheet and curses under his breath.
"I win."
Safe to say you lost more letters that day.
_____
It's been a week, and Harry is patiently waiting on their bed as you get ready in your shared closet. Your shared closet is large and mainly holds all of Harry's clothing. You definitely have a nice share of clothes filled with gifts from friends as well as Harry's friends and your treasured thrifted pieces. You smile at yourself in the full-length mirror.
Harry really can't begin to imagine what you have in store for him.
The speaker is set out and ready, and all that is needed is for you to make your entrance.
You shake out your hands in hopes of ridding yourself of the nerves. You look yourself over one last time before taking a deep breath and pushing the door open.
"Close your eyes." You call out.
Harry rolls his eyes but does as he is told.
You walk over to the speaker and press play, letting the music fill the room, making your way to stand in front of Harry, who slowly opens his eyes.
He gasps; he feels himself start to get hard. His eyes can't seem to take everything in fast enough. You smirk, loving the reaction you got out of him. It gives you the extra boost of confidence you were needing.
You stand there, hand on your hip in a sexy snowman outfit to go with the performance you are about to give.
The dress, if you can consider it with how short it is, has three black buttons in the center. The material hugs your chest nicely, giving Harry a nice view of your breasts that are close to popping out. The dress hugs your waist and begins to flow out right past your butt. You wore your favorite black heels that Harry sometimes begs you not to take off. You had on a plaid scarf and a black hat that matched it perfectly.
You were the human version of the snowman except for a more rated r version.
Harry is sitting his mouth wide open at a loss for words. You blow him a kiss before letting the song lyrics flow out of you.
Frosty the snowman
Was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal
You sway your hips side to side, singing, enjoying the ravenous stare he was giving you. You throw the hat, letting it fall at his feet, but not even that breaks the gaze he has on you, not wanting to miss a single movement of yours.
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale they say
He was made of snow
But the children know
How he came to life one day
You take a few steps forward, but never enough to allow him to touch you, and he's craving it; you know he is. His hands are gripping his thighs, his knuckles turning whiter by the seconds.
He still hasn't said a word. You have him mesmerized.
You sing the lyrics proudly, knowing you practiced all week for this moment. The moment Harry will never forget all the teasing he had been doing, always forgetting you win these battles.
There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around
"Baby," Harry breathes out, putting a hand out to touch you, but you take a step back before he can do so.
You smirk, shaking your head no at him. You were having a lot more fun than you expected.
You bend over, slipping off your heels, never breaking eye contact with Harry; he could very easily see up the dress that you had nothing underneath. His green eyes turned dark, and you swore your heart stopped, and you were sure he was about to attack. You were the prey, taunting him until he had enough, but surprisingly enough, he took a deep breath, and his composure was back well, just a bit of it.
O Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh and play
Just the same as you and me
You stopped right in front of him. Harry's eyes trained on your red lips, hanging out to every word you were singing. You reached a hand back and began to unzip the dress. The grin on your face excited for the next reaction you were about to receive.
Once you reached the bottom of your back, the dress fell to the floor. Harry let out a loud gasp. Your breasts on display, the small owl tattoo on your hip staring at him, he could see how wet you were, and all he wanted was his head between your thighs as you screamed his name.
You were a dream. You missed Harry's touch. It was the reason you stepped close enough for him to finally pull you in.
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when
He heard them holler "Stop!"
Harry has no expression on his face as he sits you on his lap. He lets his head fall into your next, feeling how wet you are through his thin sweats. You move to stand up, but he grips your hips tightly, thrusting his hips against yours, searching for some kind of relief or a reaction from you because you still haven't stopped singing.
"Baby, stop singing." His hand is cradling your cheek as his lust-filled eyes stare at you.
You shake your head, not letting him distract you. The only piece of clothing left was the scarf, and Harry lets out a growl before ripping your scarf off your neck, throwing it off to the side.
Now you truly sit there naked in his lap, and you feel all the control you have over him. The song is coming to an end, meaning you've got to remove yourself from your favorite place to sit but knowing you'll be back there soon enough.
Frosty the snowman
Had to hurry on his way
But he waved goodbye, saying
"Don't you cry I'll be back again someday"
You sing the final lyrics in his ear before walking away to turn off the speaker, an extra sway to your hips, knowing Harry is very well still watching your every move. You stand a delighted look on your face as you wait for his praise.
"Those were the longest two minutes of my life," Harry says; he puts a hand over his heart, feeling like it might just burst out. "I'm never going to be able to listen to this song in public or around anyone that isn't you."
You smirk, thrilled to hear that.
"What did I do to end up with someone as beautiful and perfect as you in my life." He confesses.
"Probably stopped a war in a past life." You throw out jokingly.
Harry puckers his lips and makes grabby hands at you. "Kissy, please?"
And who are you to say no? He spreads his legs, letting you step in between. You slip your fingers into his hair, pulling back with enough force to have him let out a moan. You lean down and connect your lips in a hot kiss, one that has Harry gripping you tightly wherever he can get his hands on. You moan as he slips his tongue into your mouth, and you happily give up the control to him.
You pull back and rest a hand on his chest, preventing him from pulling you back for you. You wipe your thumb over his bottom lip that now has some of your red lipstick. "Seems like I won, sweets."
"I feel like the real winner here," Harry tells you cheekily, sneaking a kiss to both your boobs. You giggle, not at all surprised by his action.
"Well," You fiddle with the collar of his shirt. "Why don't you show me how winners celebrate?"
"With pleasure." Harry groans standing up quickly and pushing you back against the best. He strips as fast as he can, not without a small stumble; you're sure to keep your giggle quiet, knowing very well how easily he gets embarrassed.
He is quick to get on top and kisses you hard. His kisses are always soft, but it seems the teasing seemed to flip a switch, one that you will happily remember to look to turn on again on a later date. Tonight, you are ready for an endless night of pleasure and love.
Harry connects their lips, ready for an endless night of pleasure and love.
_____
Christmas cards were a lovely tradition. Harry insisted they started because he wanted to show off his beautiful girlfriend to his friends and family. He also liked them handwritten because it added a nice personal touch. Who were you to argue about it?
This year you were the one excited to send them out.
It read: Merry Christmas from our beautiful family to yours
You and Harry sat in front of the fireplace, four stockings hanging behind you. Harry made you sit in his lap, wanting to show off your matching two-piece buffalo plaid pajamas. You both had the biggest grins on your face, eyes shining bright. Next to you, laying on top of a box that was wrapped with blue sloth wrapping paper, was a one-year-old Australian shepherd that had spent the better of six months in the shelter because the small pup was quiet who didn't do well with people, but that changed instantly the minute he met you. You decided on the name Frosty for him. Not only did Harry get you the dog of your dreams but a small kitten as well. You brought home Snow, a six-month white Birman kitten who was the rut of his siblings, and how could you just not bring him home with you with his big blue eyes staring at you begging to add to your family because he had lots of love to give. At least that's what you told Harry what the look he was giving you meant. The two siblings laid next to each other, both surprisingly staring right at the camera, making it their best Christmas photo yet.
A photo can honestly speak a thousand words because one glance at this photo tells you how much love there is in that home and their relationship.
Christmas was all about spreading joy and love, and well, Harry accomplished just that for you.

Hey, how is it going? Just wanted to say the I love your writing ❤️ Also I wanted to ask if I could get snippet no matter from which story because ALL OF THEM are brilliant and I love rereading them. Much love hope you‘re okay 💕
Hi anon <3 Thank you so much for your lovely message. I appreciate it so much. I had to take a bit of a break from writing and on here as I sadly lost a family member and life was very sad and strange for a while. I'm finally feeling like myself again and I'm back writing and feeling better. I am back now and writing and hope to post as soon as possible :)
Of course you can get a snippet! I hope RDA is okay! I've been working on that a lot lately. Here's one from Rules Don't Apply:
Kate Sheffield: Meet me in the corridor behind the toilets. Now.
Anthony Bridgerton: No please?
Kate Sheffield: Now.
Anthony Bridgerton: Some of us have work to do.
Kate Sheffield: Now, Bridgerton.
Anthony Bridgerton: If I remember correctly, you’re not the boss of me. I’m actually your boss.
Kate Sheffield: NOW.
Anthony Bridgerton: FINE.
“We need to talk.” Kate said, narrowing her eyes at him as he finally decided to grace her with his presence fifteen minutes after she hastily messaged him on her computer. Which was straight after his mother had called her office for the fifth time, asking for Kate’s dietary requirements.
“Oh, Sheffield,” He drawled, leaning against the wall of the hallway with that insufferable smirk on his face. She has chosen this hallway specifically as it’s usually empty and has a weird smell people tend to avoid, it was also far away from the kitchen and their desks. “Are you going to break up with me? You’ve lasted longer than I expected you would.”
“Nothing would make me happier, but no,” Kate said, frowning at his little dig before remembering why she had called him out to have this unfortunate conversation. She went to text him but she realized she didn’t have his number and she wasn’t going to send it on their work chat, as they definitely saved them somewhere. “We need to talk about Kent-we need to talk about how this shitshow is going to work.”
“Pretending to date me is a shitshow?” Kate didn’t think it was possible for that insufferable smirk to spread wider across his face but of course, it did. It would be attractive, if he wasn’t so bloody infuriating. He leaned slightly towards her, pouting his rosy, full lips. “Ouch, Sheffield. You might just hurt my feelings.”
Kate chose to ignore the uneasy, fluttering feeling in the pit of her stomach as his voice dropped an octave as he spoke. “I didn’t think you were capable of having feelings. Well, look at that. I guess it’s true. We really do learn something new everyday.”

Rough on the Surface but You Cut Through Like a Knife
summary: When Bronwyn Rojas ends up next to the ever obnoxious Nate Macauley in Spanish class, she doesn’t really mean to hit him with a book. Well, she does, but she doesn’t expect to end up in the principal’s office with him. And she definitely doesn’t expect to find him amusing.
alternatively: Bronwyn hits Nate with a book and a long overdue conversation ensues (AU)
title from Willow by Taylor Swift
I’m about to drop into my regular seat in AP Spanish, my last class of the day, when Señora Trias calls “Don’t sit yet niños, we have some seat switching to do!”
I groan along with the rest of the class and catch Kate’s eye. We’ve sat together the entire year. I don’t even think I know anyone else in my class. She shrugs in a resigned sort of way. Señora Trias is a force to reckoned with, and we both know she’ll never let us stay in the same seats. We follow the teacher’s instructions, and I’m too busy trying to figure out the complicated dance we’re doing - row one to the left, row two to the right, front to back and back to front - that I don’t even notice that I’ve ended up next to a boy in a ratty leather jacket.
Ugh. Nathaniel Macauley. The school’s notorious drug dealer/womanizer/delinquent/major headache.
And this headache is smirking at me.
“Can I help you?” I ask.
“Nope, I’m all good… partner.”
I hate the way he says that word, it’s suggestive and disgusting and I suppress a shudder, turning instead to the front of the room, where we’re reviewing pluscuamperfecto. As a native Spanish speaker, I can confidently say I have no idea what the heck that is.
“This is pointless,” Nate grumbles.
“Shhh,” I whisper back, taking a glance at his sharp jaw and deep blue eyes. I’ve known Nate from a distance my whole life, we’ve gone to the same schools since kindergarten, but this is the first time we’ve been so close - or exchanged words - in years.
I look back to the teacher, who’s now going over conjugations. I scribble them down in my notebook as Nate tips his chair back on two legs, rocking back and forth.
“You’re going to kill yourself,” I inform him.
“Wow Rojas, I didn’t know you cared.”
I scoff and Señora Trias sends us a sharp look. “Señorita Rojas. Señor Macauley, no talking.”
I give Nate a sharp look. “Now look what you’ve done,” I hiss, feeling the reprimand as if it had been thrown at me. Nate just smirks.
“You’ve never been in trouble have you?” he asks. I ignore him and he barks out a laugh, my silence serving as an answer. “Wow Rojas, I knew you were straight laced but I didn’t know you were that straight laced.”
And we all know you’re not I think, remembering the drug bust rumor Kate was whispering about last week.
Nate clearly can tell I’m not interested in listening to him, so in the time it takes me to pull out the short novel we’re reading in class from my bag and read about a chapter, Nate doesn’t say a word. When I’m copying down the questions our teacher wrote on the board onto my notebook, he starts talking.
“What’s the answer to one?”
“Solo español por favor!” Señora Trias calls from the front of the class. I give Nate a triumphant look, expecting him to be unable to follow the teacher’s instruction of only talking in Spanish. Unfortunately this is Spanish class. And Nate’s not an idiot. He repeats the question in the correct language, and I decide that I’d be better off ignoring him.
After a few moments, I can feel Nate leaning over my shoulder. I look over to see his eyes on my paper.
“Stop that,” I whisper.
“Spanish only,” he whispers back.
“That wasn’t even in Spanish!”
“Neither was that,” Nate points out.
I huff and go back to my paper, flipping through my book to find the answer to my next question.
“Help meeeee,” Nate whispers.
“Shut up,” I say.
“Bronwynnnnnn.”
“Shhh.”
“Rrrrrrojas.”
My sister once told me about out of body experiences when we were children, and at the time I had scoffed because the supernatural does not exist. But when I close my book - marking my page with my finger because I’m not a philistine - and swing it straight into Nate’s face, I swear I’m not controlling myself at all.
“Would you shut up?” I snap as an unnatural silence overtakes the room. I look around for the first time, meeting stricken faces. Kate’s looking at me like she’s never met me before.
“Bronwyn Rojas,” Señora Trias says dangerously. I risk a glance at Nate and feel a flash of sympathy when I see a red mark on his cheek. But he’s smirking at me so maybe he deserved it.
I’m frozen, not quite sure what to say. Señora Trias points to the door. “Principal. Both of you.”
“Both!” Nate and I say at the same time.
“Yes, look at that you’re in sync, no use that rhythm to get to the office.”
Not the best witty comment around, all things considered, but since Señora Trias looks like she’s ready to commit murder so I let it slide.
“So let me get this straight,” Principal Gupta says, staring at Nate and I, sitting side by side in the uncomfortable chairs in Gupta’s office. “You two were partnered in Spanish class, Bronwyn you were annoyed with Nathaniel, so you hit him with a book?”
Nate tips his chair back and I kick at his ankle. He kicks back.
“Bronwyn.”
“Yes, sorry. This is correct,” I say. Principal Gupta stares at me. I’ve been getting a lot of stares lately. She opens her mouth to say something, but before she can, the secretary appears at the door.
“There’s a problem in the cafeteria,” she informs Gupta, who sighs. She looks sharply at us.
“I am going to be gone for ten minutes tops. Please refrain from murdering each other.”
I nod vehemently while Nate tips his chair back farther, his smirk growing. I count backwards from fifty in my head just to make sure Gupta is really gone before wheeling back towards him. I push down on the arm of his chair with all my might. Nate crashes to the ground, a look of shock on his face.
“Jesus Bronwyn.”
“Stop tilting your gosh darn chair” I hiss, my face only a few inches away from his. I can see myself reflected back in his dark blue eyes. I look mildly deranged. He smirks again and I raise my hand. He flinches away. Ha. Take that.
He holds up his hands in surrender, leaning away from me. “Would it make you feel better if I sat on the floor Rojas?”
“Yes, yes it would.”
Nate slides to the ground, and before I can realize what’s happening, he’s pulling me down by the waist. “What the heck?” I ask.
Nate shrugs. “If I have to sit on the floor, then you do too.” He pauses for a beat. “And your legs look good in that skirt.
I slap his shoulder. “Jackass!”
Nate laughs. “She swears!” he announces to an audience of… no one.
“Why is that notable?” I ask, self-consciously tucking my legs underneath myself, ignoring my tingling waist where Nate’s fingers ended up under my shirt.
“Because a minute ago you said ‘gosh darn’ and not even grandmothers would say that Rojas.”
I can feel my face flush, but I cross my arms anyway. My little sister always teases me about how I don’t swear. Not that she swears either. “Is it really a bad thing?”
“Yes.”
I flush more, irritated at myself that Nate’s opinion matters this much to me. He senses that I’m done talking because he looks straight ahead at Gupta’s desk, where we can just make out a picture of her and her daughter.
“How’s your sister doing? Maeve, right?” Nate asks, and I turn to stare at him in shock. My sister Maeve left elementary school with cancer a long time ago. Nate was just starting to know her - they were on the same soccer team - and I don’t expect him to remember her, let alone her name.
“Yeah, it’s Maeve,” I say, my tone considerably softer. Nothing makes me happier than my sister. “She’s okay.”
“She’s in remission right?”
I turn my body so I’m looking straight ahead at him, a concession maybe. My anger is ebbing, and I’m sort of guilty about that bruise on his face. “She is. Thank you for asking.” Not many people do.
“You’re welcome.” What he says next surprises me so much I almost miss what he says: “Want to talk about it?”
I look at him for a moment, at his dark eyes and smattering of freckles and his closed off expression, and I can’t help the feeling that he’s being serious. And I don’t know why that’s so off putting.
I shrug, trying to figure out what to say. “It just sucks, you know?” I finally land on.
Nate nods. “I know.” I think back to his mother’s funeral, the dark, rainy morning where he stood in an old suit, his father too drunk to even show up. I kept thinking about Maeve, about how some day I might have to stand in the same place, shouldering the burden of a million worlds.
I imagine that’s how it feels to lose someone.
I feel the need suddenly, to make those eyes light up so I shift slightly closer to him and pluck at the sleeve of his leather jacket.
“Hey, remember when we were locked in that music room at St. Pi?” I ask.
Nate glances over at me through hooded eyes, his eyelashes unnaturally long. He nods, a half smile on his lips. “I remember. Sixth grade right?”
“Yeah.” I remember that day like it was yesterday. We had been arguing - much like today - in the middle of a music class, and our teacher sent us to the storeroom to sort flutes until we calmed down or something. But we - and the teacher - had forgotten that the door to the store room door locked from the outside. Nate and I were locked in for nearly an hour, which to twelve year olds, felt like forever.
“It was a pretty good day you know?”
“Really? I thought I threw a clarinet case at you.”
“Well you did,” Nate says. “But you know… it was nice. You’re nice.”
“Aww.”
“But you are violent.”
“Touché,” I admit.
He smiles at me, his eyes soft, and I smile back. I’m about to reach up to touch the bruise on his face when Gupta comes back, breezing through the door like she’s floating. She groans when she sees us.
“Why are you on the floor?”
“Heat rises,” Nate says with a shrug.
“It’s November."
Nate and I just look at each other and smile. We climb back into our seats, and when he tips his chair back, I don’t say anything. And when I say “gosh” instead of “god” when I’m assuring Gupta that “I swear to gosh I didn’t mean to hit him I’m so sorry” Nate doesn’t even bat an eye.
Truce, I guess.
Gupta spends ten minutes talking about pressure and how sometimes we cave but if Nate forgives me it’s okay before she lets us leave. Nate and I mockingly shake hands before we get up and it’s… nice.
The bell has already rung, so we turn in opposite directions, me to physics and him to gosh knows where when he turns to me.
“Hey, want to go to the mall on Saturday? You can buy me a pretzel for my troubles.”
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll throw something at you?”
Nate grins his Macauley grin. “I think I’ll risk it, Rojas.”
My smile is his answer.

Note
Cause we talked about it.. I now have to ask 😂
Anthony’s Kate in a hockey skirt incident and recreation? Could we see that for a spicy Sunday please 🥺
Thank you
Oh Boyyy
This seems like a good follow up to today's chapter because Anthony fondly remembered his first ever wank (bless him) aided by the visual provided to him in PE class, of Kate Sharma, in a hockey skirt, her Shirt tied in a little knot at her waist, the poor kid didn't know what to do.
And he certainly didn't like the look his Mum gave him the next day when he stood in the laundry hastily shoving his bedsheets into the washing machine, as if she new exactly why a teenage boy would be washing his sheets at 6am on a saturday morning
"Oh God!" Anthony's breath left his body as he looked across that the other PE class on the other half of the field, and spied something he'd probably never wanted to see. Kate Sharma, in a very short skirt, laughing with her friend, their lesson not yet begun, a hockey stick firmly in hand.
Anthony had been watching Kate since she'd arrived at school last year. No, he didn't like how that sounded, that made him sound like a stalker. But... maybe it was possible that he might have a little crush on Kate. And who could blame him. She was smart, far smarter than he was actually, already the top of their class, she was funny: every single time she walked past him she tossed a little quip his way her lips quirking in a smirk, and she was beautiful. So beautiful, it made his chest ache.
And now here she was, wearing an even shorter skirt than usual, her long legs shining in the sun, , a tiny bit of her midriff on display from her shirt, tied at her waist, and Anthony felt something deep inside him tighten, panic rising in his chest, Oh god, please no, not here. Oh christ, she was bending over. He was about to embarrass himself in front of the entire year, his shorts tightening and-
"Ow! Fuck!" A hockey ball collided with the side of his head, knocking him to the floor. And honestly he should have been furious at Simon who was grinning at him unashamedly, but as he went off to the nurses office he could only feel just a little thankful, even as Kate called out
"So I suppose we can rule you out of hockey tryouts next week hey Bridgerton?" As he passed.
Of course as he lay in bed that night, desperately trying to get to sleep, her face had flashed through his mind again, and then his eyes had slipped downwards, to the fact the buttons on her polo shirt hadn't been done up, and her midriff had been on display and her legs were so long and before he knew what was happening he was aching, his hand hesitantly touching at first and then bolder and bolder until he'd made an absolute mess of himself and his bedsheets, and he was certain he'd croaked out her name as it had happened.
This wasn't something Anthony was necessarily proud of, it also was definitely not the last time we'd wanked himself off thinking of Kate Sharma, both before and after they were together. But he'd never told Kate that she'd been the first, it just seemed embarrassing that it had happened so innocuously, she'd just been standing there, going on his her life and he'd practically been humping her leg like a randy dog.
So no, he didn't exactly want to tell her. But of course like everything he did.
"Tell meeeee." Kate said, straddling his chest one sunday morning, her eyes shining with amusement. "Oh my god, is it because it's really embarrassing?" She gasped, "Was it mrs. Danbury?"
Anthony nearly choked, he certainly wasn't going to let her think that! He sighed. "Do you happen to remember that day I got hit in the head with a hockey ball?"
Kate shook her head.
Anthony sighed, "Well when I was 14, I got hit in the head with a hockey ball, and i was distracted because you were further down the field... And I got a hard on."
Kate guffawed, her eyes widening with joy. "Oh my god."
Anthony sighed, "The night I couldn't stop thinking about the fact you hadn't done up the buttons on your polo shirt, and I could see your cleavage like a tiny bit, and you'd tied it up so I could see your midriff and your legs are really long okay? I couldn't help myself. And that was the first time I ever got off." He could feel his ears burning.
Kate was laughing brightly, "So I was standing still at School and that got you off?"
Anthony felt a little indignant, "You bent over actually as well, and you said you wouldn't laugh!"
Kate laughed.
He had almost forgotten about it, weeks later, when he walked through the front door, a little weary from his work day, and stopped dead. Because his very hot girlfriend was sitting at the breakfast bar in their small kitchen, her legs crossed, her eyebrow raised expectantly, and what she was wearing made him swallow convulsively. Kate was wearing a hockey uniform, her poloshirt tied at her waist, the skirt barely hitting her mid thigh and Anthony felt heat pool in his stomach as her dropped his backpack at his feet his hand moving up to run through his hair, nervously.
"Hey." It came out as a little huff as he stared at his teenage fantasy come to life. He felt like all the air had been sucked from the room, as Kate stood, her hips swishing towards him, Anthony swallowed again.
"Welcome home, Honey. " There was a smirk in her voice that told Anthony, as always, she knew exactly the power she wielded over him. "You've been working so hard recently, I thought you deserved a little treat."
Her lips were sucking at his neck before he could even respond, whatever he'd been planning to say cut off with a sharp whine, her hands tugging at his jacket, pushing it from his shoulders before tugging him by the belt towards their bedroom.
Anthony's feet felt clumsy as he followed, stumbling over himself, to get to her just like always. Kate let go when they reached the room, making a little show of settling herself on her side of the bed, the word Princess carved just above her head in his hand writing branding her, and he couldn't help but feel a sharp streak of smug possession that she was his in a way she'd never been anyone else's. That everyone had thought her so prim and proper at school... frigid Baz had said, and here she was, wearing a costume for him, putting on a show.
Anthony tore his shoes off, stripping down to his underwear in a flash, moving to straddle her, his hands already on her, wherever he could reach, aching to slither up her skirt and-
"Anthony, you can't touch there yet. You said you touched yourself. Show me."
Anthony let out a choked noise his head falling to her shoulder, nuzzling against her hair for a moment, his boxers already so tight, his hips bucking towards her.
"Where can i touch?" his voice was cracking, wrenched from his chest as he forced his head off her shoulder, groaning a little as he took in the mischievous look in her eyes.
She tugged his left hand from between her knees, sliding it up her shirt, his hand tightening instinctively. "Here seems nice, no?"
Anthony nodded, his shoulders already heaving as her lips went back to his neck, her teeth nipping, her tongue soothing her finger tips running along his stomach before threading in his hair, and it was too much. She was everywhere, all around him, and he needed some relief, his hand slipped into his boxers, groaning at his own touch, as his hips started thrusting into his hand, his eyes fluttering closed.
Kate tilted his chin towards her lightly, "Don't forget to look, Anthony."
He nodded eagerly, his breath coming in sharp gasps her voice hot in his ear.
"Was it this good the first time?"
Anthony shook his head, "Feeling you there is definitely better."
Kate's eyes had darkened, but her smirk was still in place. "How long did it take you?"
Anthony groaned, his hand tightening as her tongue brushed his ear. "Like... 35 seconds."
Kate chuckled, "Good to see you've improved your stamina. But Honey, the quicker you cum, the quicker i'll let you under the skirt."
Anthony could have died, he really could have, his hips moving even more quickly, Kate all around him, her name falling in a garbled mess from his lips, Kate Kate Kate Kate, you're so fucking hot, oh my god, I'm gonna- He exploded, his vision blinding white for a moment, covering them both in himself, his head dropping back against her shoulder. Her hands running soothingly through his hair as his breathing fought to even out.
And then his brain caught up to him. "Wait, where'd you get this?" He tugged at the skirt.
Kate looked a little guilty, "I stole Eddie's."
Anthony's mouth fell open, horrified. "Kate! I just came on your sister's school uniform."
Kate chuckled, "It's okay, she doesn't want it back. She seemed to realise I wanted it for nefarious purposes and told Mary she lost hers." her tongue clicked, "Are you too upset to crawl under the skirt?"
Anthony groaned sliding down her body, nudging her legs apart, "I don't think I could ever be too upset for that."

Story
For Maribat March day 24 theme story
Master List
“You know I remember the day I first saw him. My baby brother.” Marinette announced as all the Batkids formed a circle around her, like they were all students listening to their teacher read a story. Only this wasn’t an ordinary story she was telling, “Mom and Dad came home from the hospital holding a tiny human. I was 7 at the time, yet even after all these years I still remember.”
“Was baby Bruce cute?” Steph asked.
“He was the cutest little thing. His eyes were so innocent and curious, and blue, very blue. And when he grabbed my finger he didn’t let go until it was time for my mom to feed him. But baby Bruce was also boring, he did the traditional baby things like cry, poop his diaper, cry, eat baby food, and cry. But you wanna know what wasn’t boring, toddler Bruce.” All the Batkids subconsciously leaned in closer, eager to hear what embarrassing things Bruce did as a kid. “You know, my parents gave us nicknames when we were both toddlers, they called me butterfly, and him rhino.”
“Why?” Tim blurted out, he didn’t get enough sleep to stop himself.
“They said that when I was younger, I would float around like a butterfly, floating with the wind. But when my brother was younger he headbutted into everything, it was like his only solution to his problems. I’m surprised he didn’t get brain damage or something, hence the nickname rhino. I was their little butterfly and he was their little rhino. Those were good times.”
“Wait, but you said that you went to school in Paris, right? So what happened there?” Babs interjected, curiosity written all over her face.
“Don’t worry Babs, I’m getting there. Soon Bruce was no longer a toddler but a little kid. Now I know he doesn’t remember this, but when it was his first day of kindergarten, he was 5 I was 12, and I went with our mom to pick him up. He was holding hands with this girl, she was adorable, had her hair in pigtails and everything, ran up to me and said ‘Nettie Nettie! This is Josie and she’s my best friend!’ It was the cutest thing, it was only his first day of school and he had a best friend. We won’t talk about her parents or the fact that she moved the following year, but it was so cute in the moment. He had another friend, Logan, for a few years but he moved away too. I’m glad he moved away, he was such a bad influence on Bruce.” Her eyes landed on Cass who was trying to grab her attention.
“Why was this Logan a bad influence?” Cass signed.
“Think of Logan as that one kid who always got detention, skipped class, didn’t do the work, talked back to the teacher, and always got his parents called in, but in the body and energy of a 9 to 14 boy. I mean, when they were in the 8th grade he tried to get Bruce to smoke. Pretty sure he was sent to military school or something. Good riddance.”
Damian scoffed, “You still haven’t answered the question of how you ended up in Paris.”
“Oh I haven’t! Dang it I was rambling again. So when I was 12 our parents decided it would be a good idea to send me to an art school in Paris, since I was and am very into designing and our parents wanted to get me out of Gotham. They were going to do the same with Bruce but…” She trailed off and for the first time since they had met her she seemed to close in on herself as a few tears trickled down her cheek, “They would’ve loved you guys, if they got to meet you. I wasn’t there when it happened so I’m nowhere near as traumatized as Bruce but it still hurt.” She brought her sleeve up and wiped the tears off her face.
Dick got up from his spot and hugged Marinette, Cass went over and did the same.
“Thank you guys, man that was such a downer. Here I thought I would be telling you happy, silly stories about Bruce and now I’m crying.”
Dick and Cass took a step back to give her more room and Cass signed, “You might not have been there, but they were your parents too.”
“Thank you Cass, now who wants to hear about how Bruce tried to impress a girl for the first and last time?”
“Hell Y-” Jason was interrupted by Bruce’s voice.
“Marinette?”
She whirled around and at the doorway stood Bruce, he probably just got home from work.
“Baby Bro! You’re finally home!” She ran over and picked him up in a hug. All the kids' jaws were on the ground, this woman who was a head shorter than Bruce was able to pick him up without any problems.
“Marinette you can put me down, we’re getting too old for this.” Bruce tried to say with the little dignity he had left.
“I’ll never be too old to carry you!” Marinette stated, grinning from ear to ear.
“Wait so are you gonna tell us about how Bruce tried to impress that one girl?” Duke innocently asked.
“Oh yeah,” She ran back over to them, “Her name was Finely and-”
“Don’t tell them about that!” Bruce yelled at her.
“Why not?” Marinette challenged.
“Marinette-”
“No, don’t Marinette me! I refuse to let Kate be a cooler aunt than me! I mean I helped train you for goodness sake!”
“Wait, you helped train him?” Damian questioned.
“Well yeah-”
“I wanna hear that story!” Tim shouted, seeming to not be as sleep deprived as he once was mere minutes ago.
“Wait no! I wanna hear about how B embarrassed himself in front of Finley!” Jason shouted back.
Soon all the batkids had taken sides on which stories they wanted to hear first and then it was war. Marinette and Bruce watched from the sidelines, one amused, one annoyed.
“Now look at what you’ve done.” Bruce stated, annoyance and tiredness clear in his voice.
“Hey I was just trying to give them a good story. They’re your kids so you get the joy of reining them in,” She checked the time on her phone, “Yikes that late already huh. Bye kiddos see you tomorrow!”
Although none of them heard her over their screams and battle cries. It wasn’t until a full hour later when Babs finally pointed out she was gone.
“Where’d she go?” Steph asked.
“Miss Marinette left quite a while ago, Miss Steph,” Alfred answered, appearing out of nowhere as always, “Now I believe it is time for dinner.”
All the batkids made their way to the dining room, frowns on their faces. When Bruce finally sighed, “She’ll be back tomorrow.” Against his better judgement.
Marinette only brought chaos with her and left a mess behind in her wake. But in the end she was his sister, one of the only things still standing despite how much his life tried to knock her down, it’d be wrong to ask her not to come back. So with a sigh he sent the text he knew she was waiting for. ‘Your welcome back tomorrow.’
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look who’s back from the dead! School killed me but I am back. I think what I’m gonna do is post 2 things for Maribat March despite it no longer being March every time I come back. So day 18 was where we had Little Sis Marinette, now we have Big Sis Marinette. I have not given up on Maribat March, life simply got busy. Hope everyone enjoyed this!

Rabble Drabble V: Advances
Colin fights off the advances of his wife in a drunken stupor.
A/N: Just so people know that I’m not completely heartless from the last chapter of my other fic. Here’s pure fluff. Enjoy!
Penelope glanced at the grandfather clock near the fireplace. It’s getting late and Colin was still not home. She wasn’t bothered much. It was a guy’s night out, after all. Whenever Michael, Benedict and Philip were in town, all the Bridgerton males made time to meet up and hang out. This guy’s night happened once every other month.
She’s not worried, knowing full well that Anthony would be responsible for the rowdy boys. But tonight, Colin had been unusually late coming home. She could not help but entertain her growing unease. She did just get married to him. She would be really pissed if Colin ended up making her a widow so soon.
She was about to call Kate when the doorbell rang. She answered the door promptly and was greeted at the sight of a disheveled Anthony keeping a drunk Colin upright. By the look of things, if she were to have taken her time from opening the door, Colin would have been sprawled on the ground, most likely pulling his brother with him.
“Hey, Pen,” Anthony managed to say between grunts. He pulled on his brother, who was swaying dangerously on the spot. In his van behind him, Michael pressed on the car horn obnoxiously, to Anthony’s consternation. Benedict’s hoot and Philips yelp was very audible in her quiet neighborhood. Penelope would have to bake cookies again to appease her neighbors.
“Fun night?” she asked with a laugh. She stepped up, anchoring her husband’s left arm over her shoulder. Colin, even in his drunken stupor, turned and bowed to the men in the car. He almost face-planted on the ground, if not for Anthony’s fast reflexes.
The prominent vein on the left side of Anthony’s forehead was ticking dangerously. Penelope hid her giggle since he might go off any second.
“Annoying gits,” Anthony mumbled as he shoved his brother into the house and into Penelope’s arms. “Always testing my patience. You got him, Pen?”
She nodded after hearing the car horn again. As much as she wanted him to help her with Colin upstairs, he needed to bring them home before her neighbors complained. She guided her husband to the stairs after saying, “Thanks Anthony. Close the door, will you?”
Her brother-in-law assented but added before rushing out, “Brunch tomorrow at mother’s, don’t forget!”
“Got it!” she shouted as he shut the door close. “Alright, my love. Work with me,” she pleaded when she tried to get Colin up the stairs without any accidents.
Colin shook his head, as if willing the booze away from his system, and took a good look at the stairs ahead of him. Then, he crouched down to all fours and slowly climbed up. Penelope was too flabbergasted to stop him.
“Not what I have in mind, but I’ll take it,” she muttered as she followed him, making sure he did not make a misstep.
He continued on until he reached the top. He stood up abruptly, with her guidance and made for their bedroom. Upon reaching the bed, Penelope stopped her husband from flopping onto the bed so she could take off his jacket, which reeked of booze. But before she could pull his sleeve off, he cut her off.
“Excuse me, madam,” he slurred insistently, “I am a kept man. I do not care for your advances as I am very happily married.”
Well, if that didn’t bring a bright smile on her face, she didn’t know what will. But she still needed to take off his jacket. “I just need to take off your jacket, love.”
He acquiesced however, he refrained her from touching him with a light slap of her hand. He took it off easily then crashed head first on the bed.
Penelope was torn between annoyance and affection as she cradled the hand that he slapped away. In the end, she chose to linger on the fierce devotion he showed to her. She was successful in taking off both his shoes. When she was close to getting his socks off, he moved his feet out of reach.
“No means no, lady,” he almost bellowed. “I’m married.”
“So you kept saying,” she retorted as she chased his foot to pull on a sock. After a tedious minute, she was able to take it off and the other one too amidst his elaborate footwork dodges. She inhaled loudly, trying to be patient with her drunk husband. At this point, she may be okay with being a widow since she just might kill him herself.
She sagged right next to him on the bed, her fatigue from the day catching up. She was ready to fall asleep when a scandalized, “Excuse me!”  prevented her from falling asleep.
She scrunched her face and whispered to Colin, “You are really exhausting all my patience tonight, darling.”
“I only sleep with my wife,” he insisted again, with a slur. “My Pen is the only one allowed to this,” he said as he gestured to his body. To his defense, it was a pretty tantalizing body. But she could not help but wonder if his brain was rendered useless with the alcohol in his tantalizing body.
“Colin, just sleep, okay? I’m tired. You’re tired. Just go to sleep,” she appealed to him with wry fondness. She pulled on the comforter and tried to cover both their bodies with it. Unfortunately for her, he refused to cooperate.
He fought off the comforter as if it were armed enemies, both his hands in a karate chop stance.
“Colin! Just...oh my god,” she muttered under her breath. She’s never going to let him come back drunk ever again if he was going to be such a pain like this.
“My beautiful wife will have words with you, lady. Stop trying to molest me.”
She wanted to strangle him but his compliment gave her pause. “Your wife must have the patience of a saint.”
“My wife has everything,” he snootily replied. “She’s so witty and beautiful and insanely hot and funny and has the best rack,” his hands cupped the air daintily and she glowered at him, “and she’s sexy and she’s a great kisser and best of all, she’s mine.”
She wanted to wince. She honestly really hoped he didn’t talk about her breasts in public like this. But she would be lying if she denied being touched by his raining flattery. The muscles on her face tugged into a wide grin.
“She should be lucky to have you. You’re not so bad yourself.”
“I know I’m a catch,” her smile fell off, replaced by exasperation, “but my wife is leagues ahead of me. She’s the best. She’s absolutely, astoundingly gorgeous and that’s the least interesting thing about her. I’m awed that she chose me out of all the fools around her.”
Well, shit. His words tugged into her heart, churning her insides into mush. Even the way he smiled dreamily as he went on and one about her sent her into a giddy rush.
He continued, “I worship the ground she walked on. When she said she loved me, it felt like my life, only then, really started. Everything else was background noise. I’ll spend the rest of my life showing her how important she is to me. She is my dream fulfilled.”
Aww. This was better than his wedding vows. Her eyes misted as she tried to hide how touched she was at his drunken declaration. Penelope had to admit that drunk Colin was her favorite version of her husband.
She leaned closer to him to give him a fervent kiss when his palm connected with her face. It wasn’t a slap, more of a forceful push. His outstretched hand pushed her away from his side.
“God, lady, I just told you I’m married. I’m going to have to call the cops.”
All of the goodwill she harbored from his flowery speech about her vanished. How could he use her face to push her entire body away from him? He’s definitely going to pay for this tomorrow.
She left the bed at his unrelenting pushes. She grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen and a bottle of aspirin. When she came back to their bedroom, he was fast asleep on his side of the bed. She placed the glass and medicine on his bed stand.
He definitely was a handful but he was hers.
She laid down on the bed, careful not to wake him from his slumber. It did not take her long to pass out in a dreamless sleep.
She awoke to the glare of sunlight peeking from the drawn curtains a couple of hours later. She tried to rub her eyes but her arm was encumbered by her husband’s body. Colin, in his sleep, latched on to her side, curling his body flush to hers. She remembered his sweet words last night and grinned affectionately. However, she also remembered the way his hand connected with her face when she only wanted to give him a kiss.
“Good morning!” she loudly exclaimed.
Colin winced and cradled his head with a whine, “Why?”
His obvious pain was enough to balm the annoyance from last night. She ruffled his hair. “There’s water and aspirin there for you.”
He mumbled his thanks and burrowed even deeper into the crook of her neck. She giggled when he peppered tiny kisses on her neck.
“We have to be at your mom’s in a few hours. Think you’re up to it?”
He grunted a response, tightening his embrace on her. She reminded him of his mother’s special waffles and he seemed to be more amenable after.
“I love you,” she told him, after a beat of silence, as she caressed his head.
He peered at her. “I love you too. If I am to be greeted with this every morning after I get drunk, I’m drinking more often,” he answered with a joke.
“Please don’t,” she asked with a glare.
His face scrunched in confusion and all Penelope did was give her befuddled husband a sound kiss.
