I do find it very funny how you’ll see people who are fans of f1 and also like football or something say football is “real team sport no individualism it’s all team they’d do anything for eachother” and. As someone who does a “real team sport”. Shit is CUT THROAT. You are fighting for time on pitch you are fighting to be in the best teams if you get a better offer you’re dipping you guys have GOT to stop drinking the parasocial kool-aid of multibillion dollar sport industries …

#like sure we love our team but they’re also competitors #rowing one of the most team sports of all time and we’re all fighting for our lives to get in THE boat and stay there once we’re there #you’ll do sessions witu individual telemetry on your handles . seat races #(they time the boat to see which configuration is quickest)#you do individual erg testing as a major component in crew selection #once we get to race day we’re working as a team sure but it’s still crazy individualistic #no one succeeds in sport by being ‘all or nothing’ for the team.#bc progress and improvements comes individually #our coaches are literally ALWAYS SAYING hold yourselves accountable for your own performance #team sports are competitive within the team you guys are insane #tension within ‘sports teams’ is insane and I’ve experienced it being crazy toxic #I hate how sports fan tumblrinas almost never know ANYTHING about sport
