i learned about this piece of music in my middle school choir class, and the beauty of it is that you get to hear whatever is going on in the world! the piece is about experiencing the sound of the world in real time!! what do you mean you can’t listen because of protestors?? that would be a cool and unique version of “4’33”” that most people probably haven’t experienced!! and part of the point is that every time you hear the piece it’s different!! im very mad about this

#sorry op im not mad at you just jumping on the post #4’33’’ is such a cool piece of music to think about and i love it #iconic creation #if you aren’t going to accept the spirit of the piece then why even teach it??#the piece is meant to be somewhat improvizational because you cant control the sounds around you #coughing? laughing? people talking? protestors? a fucking air horn? if these things happen then they happen and the piece stays true #left for a second then came back to add a couple last tags #the protestor noises would be so in the spirit of the piece BECAUSE the piece itself is a form of protest in a way #you could discuss so many unique perspectives about 4’33’’ because of this experience #and yet #:/
