He loves animals!! I don’t know about anywhere else but in the south growing up with many animals is veryyyy common. I'm not the best with words but @lavaflowe made a great point that I also wanted to build on. When white people make Sun Wukong or any asian character buff, I give them a hard side eye. Its this attitude that the only way they can be masculine or badass is to be buff. To be masculine by a very western standard. Like they can't be badass or worthy of desire or admiration without looking like Rambo or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I've seen this in every fandom that had asian characters with white fans. If the character was designated as a twink they'd be made a bottom or pathetic. If the character was badass any perceived femininity would be stripped from them.

Sun Wukong is short, he is small. And he is badass because of that. he is not buff. Making him so you're saying he is inadequate as himself. What message do you think that sends to asian fans!? What it says about what you think of our cultures!?
