So do you guys actually think that Jason's entire story, relationship to the others, and philosophy amounts to him being a rebellious teen who wants his dad's attention? Like are you 100% serious? I thought you were joking about that but too many of you are saying it with your whole chest.
And what the fuck is this "Bruce antagonizing Jason is fanon!" Shit I've been seeing? You guys are aware that a parent can love their kid and still be a shit parent right? I know you guys don't want to fathom the thought that maybe your blorbo might also occasionally have to face responsibility for consistently endangering children but let's not start being delusional now.
Bruce does love his kids, that doesn't mean that he hasn't hurt them. And I'd also argue that for the most part he feels in the right for it, and he's said multiple times that he believes it's for their own good, so you can't even argue that he's sorry about it. It's okay for you guys to admit that your PERSONAL INTERPRETATION of the character wouldn't do that but don't sit here and pretend that it's not a facet of the source.
#you can argue meta until you're blue in the face#but I can't ignore the ingerent abuse of Batman and Robin because DC is always drawing attention to it#Stephanie and Jason directly died because of Robin#Stephanie wanted to impress Bruce to live up to his idea of a sidekick and prove her worth#Sheila only sold Jason out when she found out he was Robin#Damians life certainly got worse when he became Robin/moved with Bruce#if you bring up racist retcons I'll kill you btw#how are we supposed to read children dying and being tortured and traumatized constantly#and just ignore that these are children#I can ignore the reality of child sidekicks in campy light hearted early comics#but if DC wants to deal with serious topic they're going to have to deal with some serious implications too#Also that post that's going around about “Bruce loves Jason and it's Jason who's causing all the animosity” is such bullshit#what the fuck are you even talking about#and let's not act like Jason is the ONLY one at fault and Bruce is just a poor loving father#is Bruce spreading that utter bullshit about Jason's death and who he was not an act of violence?#was he not the one to cast the first stone by disgracing Jason's legacy and using a version of him that never existed as a cautionary tale#and I know some of you are going to argue that with most of the kids there's nothing Bruce could have done to stop them#and this is the one time in which I will ignore all the very real ways that he could have#but I still think that in universe the characters have a right to be angry about it#Jason always since his debut as red hood been a vehicle for calling out Bruce#he's so heavily steeped in meta narrative because his run is when they started dealing with the real BAD cases#The Cult Garzonas onscreen murders were getting more common#AND NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME THAT BEING ROBIN DIDN'T MAKE JASON'S LIFE WORSE#THERE WAS NO REASON TO MAKE HIM ROBIN HE COULD HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY AS JUST A NORMAL KID#But Bruce made having a place in his home synonymous with being Robin because the narrative dictated it had to be#what was homeless orphan Jason going to do? say no?#it was basically coercion and it doomed him and he has every right to blame the adult that put him in that position#dc#bruce wayne critical#bat family

Special Costume Select Scouts (September 2023)
Now we have two Special Costume Select Scouts to choose from. Let's talk about the options available.
Select A
SC Diantha - A very sensible choice, especially for those who missed NC Hop. Diantha, oddly enough, has remained the premiere Fighting-type damage dealer in the game. Yeah, like even now, she's second best, only losing to Hop, and it's by a slim margin. Keldeo rules. If you have Aura Cynthia, you're likely able to handle all Fighting-weak content just off Bruno, but if you were craving a serious powerhouse in the type, Diantha's really hard to beat. That said, 1/5 has excellent DPS, but notably loses a lot of sync power. Diantha will still get it done, but she's definitely the type that looks longingly at 3/5.
SC Ingo - Bug Zone. That is realistically the only real value of a 1/5 Ingo. He has some odd utility, in a bit of physical debuffing (which doesn't align to any top meta Bugs except his brother), and a twinge of speed when he sets Bug Zone so it's not much. The evasion is cute but often irrelevant. If you invest to 3/5, he's an excellent nuke, but that's a pretty big if. Most Zone setters exist for 1/5 utility, and Ingo's no different. He's a bit worse off, this is really not a great Zone support, but Bug is in bad shape so there's an argument for him if you have SS Hilbert, Alder, or SC Emmet.
SC Emmet - Speaking of whom, SC Emmet is the big physical Bug man. I will be frank. 1/5 SC Emmet without EX is effectively without merit. I've had him for over a year, and let me tell you, the man does not accomplish squat. This is a guy who needs investment. And ideally that investment is EX. 1/5 EX can make it work. Natural Rising Tide is hugely valuable, and is his primary sync effect. Just do not expect him to do much in Gauntlet. I think I've benched him every single time.
SC Hilda - I adore SC Hilda. Rock damage is fairly hard to come by, and our Rock Striker collection is uh. Limited. Classic Blue, Emmet, and SC Hilda are still the big three, after like two years. Seriously. SC Hilda and SC Diantha remaining in power this long is kinda funny. That said, Hilda is my personal favorite of the three. While her damage numbers are overall worse off, Hilda succeeds by virtue of consistency. Emmet is the strongest, but only under Sandstorm; without it, he's substantially worse. Classic Blue is stronger on Hyper Beam, but has worse sync, and much rougher setup (defense drops compared to Hilda buffing defense every attack). Her gauge is also fantastic, with a bit of speed boosting and Fuel Economy compared to the others with 4-bar and Blue praying for Free Moves Next to proc. I will sing Hilda's praises endlessly, but Rock isn't...terribly hard to shop for? It is, but also we now have Gordie and Roark, who are pretty excellent. So it's a little harder to justify her? Especially considering those three are good, but not great. Rock is not a very strong type right now.
SC Lyra - Okay. SC Lyra is a very, very bad time. I'm willing to argue this until I'm blue in the face, despite the fact I might get her today. Lyra's problem is she's slow. She has terrible speed, and her buffing is +1 per action, dependent on what you want. Crit boosting is on grid and expensive to acquire. Attack boosting is every time she is hit. The only stat she buffs quickly is Defense. Her unique niche is her AoE Rebuff on Earthquake, but for Ground? She offers far, far too little to be exceptional for the type. She's in a terrible position with little being given. I know Support are generally always nice, but in this case? I'd sincerely argue she's the bottom of the barrel.
SC Zinnia - But now we must speak of the zenith. SC Zinnia is my personal pick for the best of this set. If you have NC Marnie, there is justification to not pull Zinnia. Otherwise...man there is no one who competes. Even NC Marnie is worse in my eyes, and I'm being so serious. It requires 3/5, granted, but come on. She's stupid good. 1/5 has merit too. Significantly less, but there are two benefits she provides. First, the ability to take Five Stats +3 parameter, and just eat all those buffs for herself in one action. Second, if you have NC Calem, his trainer move with her X Atk All immediately caps offenses of the entire team, which is perfect for Masked Royal. She has crazy utility even early on, and becomes one of the best units in the game by 3/5. Absolutely exceptional value.
Select B
SC Steven - I'm starting off with the obvious winner. If you don't have yourself an SC Steven, get yourself an SC Steven. 1/5 is perfectly sufficient, and gives such overwhelming attack bonuses to physical damage dealers it's insane. Partnered with SS Acerola, Fire and Grass types become effectively unbeatable if they're physically inclined. And that's before factoring in the buddy move, which has hilarious niche utility like Restrain, which powers up Selene specifically. He's amazingly strong.
SC Lillie - I'm not mad about it... Lillie is really good. At 3/5. At 1/5, she offers an incredibly limited buffing kit. 3/5 is her main niche, where she gets the option for double Potion MPR, and the tools to make her incredibly fast at buffing Sp Atk/crit to cap. Consistent healing every time she's attacked is also nice. Lillie is very good, and well worth considering if you already have SC Steven.
SC Sonia - Sonia's pretty bad. Like, the only time I saw her get any substantial utility was with Adaman/SS Acerola. Adaman really gave her a lot of tools as a dual strike component, but it's with the caveat that she must be 3/5 for Defense Crush 9. Otherwise, any offensive option can get the job done. Grass is also pretty well saturated, so it's not like she does much that's unique. As a Hit the Gas striker with poor speed, she operates on the SS Giovanni wavelength of "being terrible." I really cannot recommend her at all.
SC Guzma - Guzma's funny, but terrible. He has some notable fame as the guy who hits with the force of god, but only after missing three times and then landing Dynamicpunch. It's incredibly slow, and incredibly not worth your time.
SC Shauna - I actually like SC Shauna. I think the outfit is cute. But she's only okay. A good Gauntlet soloist for those who care about that stuff, and generally useful in that mode regardless. But for CS it's very hard to slot her in over alternatives. 1/5 is just that much worse. Shauna interacts with stages on the basis that she can sustain, and without Potion MPRs at all, she's going to seriously struggle with sustain given her inability to directly boost defenses. She needs investment.
SC Jasmine - Okay, now this one's for me. Barring SC Steven, I am going to argue, legitimately, that SC Jasmine is better than SC Lillie. I'm going to fail! Lillie has a high flinch rate and faster boosting to offenses (kinda)! But listen. Jasmine has serious utility. MGR9 and Mind Games 4 on Absorb is huge for a fairly slow pair. Flash Cannon with On a Roll 9 and two MGRs can be used on teams with faster allies and some speed boosting. She has Safety Net naturally, which makes her an excellent EX choice. All Ramped Up at 3/5 gives her the ability to, in two turns, +4 Sp Atk, +6 Sp Def, and +3 crit Jasmine gives the more important crit rate faster, and compresses bulk in Sp Def into the same role. With X Regen All, she approximates Lillie's passive healing. Oh, and she has built-in Vigilance, so her lucky skill is basically free money. Jasmine is excellent, and I've personally found better use for her than Lillie. Both are excellent choices, but my preference will always be for Jasmine.
Final Thoughts SC Zinnia and SC Steven are the incredibly obvious picks for these. If you don't have either, I strongly recommend the pickup if you have the gems. Zinnia is legitimately my favorite pair of the year, so I'd recommend her over SC Steven, but Steven has objectively better utility for cheaper.
Provided you have those, it's trickier. In set A, it's legitimately a free for all. If you like Zones, Ingo is a good pick, while the other three are your choice between whichever offensive type you need most. In set B, Lillie or Jasmine are top priority as supports. Both are excellent. Shauna's ranked below them because she's got it fairly rough, but it's a lot better off than Sonia or Guzma, who are pretty niche.

If you're still taking prompts: “Come on, give me one good reason not to jump in the lake.” Cisco to Caitlin?
I actually wrote a good portion of this back when you requested it, in March or so. Then I forgot about it until just recently, when I felt like writing a fun, fluffy summer story and went, “wait, didn’t I have one of those already?”
So finally, here it is!
Life’s a Beach
Cisco stared longingly at the blue, blue water. “Come on, give me one good reason not to jump in the lake.”
“Cryptosporidium,” Caitlin said, flicking her towel out with a snap of her wrists. “And giardia intestinalis. Both of them are extremely nasty parasites, transmitted through the fecal-oral route.” She looked up and down the beach. “With the number of families here today, at least one kid is going without their diaper. Guaranteed.”
He stared at her. “The fecal-oral route - is that what I think it is?”
“Almost certainly. Also, we have to keep an eye out for nefarious activity,” she added, struggling with a giant beach umbrella.
“You could have opened with that one,” he said, going over and taking it from her. The button was very stubborn. He swore, smacked it with his palm, and the umbrella almost took his nose off when it sprang open. He swore again. “In fact, you could have closed with that too. I only asked for one.”
She took the umbrella back from him and stuck it in the sand. “You still would have argued with me for the next ten minutes. This way, no argument. Sunscreen?”
“I’m good. I got the spray-on stuff.”
She flicked open the bottle with a little snick and started rubbing sunscreen into her legs. He tried not to stare.
He was pretty sure Iris had just been kind, sending them to do recon on the beach where a lot of people were reporting large amounts of missing money this summer. They didn’t even know if there was a meta behind it. But it was a gorgeous, sunny day, just on the edge of hot, and they got to hang out at the beach.
So he wasn’t complaining.
Although the fact that he was hanging out at said beach with Caitlin was causing some issues.
He was supposed to be looking for suspicious characters, but he kept getting distracted by Caitlin in her sunglasses and floppy sun hat and thigh-length black net cover-up. Cover-up was a wild misnomer, because it was basically covering nothing and distracting him with constant glimpses of pale skin.
Or maybe he was just incredibly distracted by her lately.
He didn’t know where this all had come from. Sure, he’d always thought she was beautiful - come on, he had eyes - but lately, it was awfully hard to remember that they were good buddies and no more, when he wanted to touch her and look at her all sorts of places that a good buddy had no business touching or looking.
He busied himself with shaking out his own beach towel and settling himself in the warm sand. He told himself not to stare at the movement of her hands, and the places her hands moved over.
A rustle of cloth made him look up involuntarily. The cover-up was sliding down Caitlin’s arms as she shrugged it off. She let it slip to the beach towel and glanced up at him.
He scrambled to find something to say that wasn’t I think my brain is running out my ears. “Hey. That’s a new suit, isn’t it?”
“Mhmmm,” she said, rubbing sunscreen down her arms. “My old one is about done for. What do you think?”
“It’s nice,” he said airily, sliding his sunglasses back up his nose.
Nice was the understatement of his life.
The last time he’d hung out with Caitlin at the beach, she’d had a sensible red one-piece. This was a green bikini, and clearly the reason her not-cover-up had kept showing skin was that skin was mostly all there was to see. Smooth, creamy skin, a few little moles that looked like dots of chocolate he wanted to lick, the curve of shoulders and legs and hips and stomach.
Stop, he ordered himself,
When she started dabbing sunscreen on her chest and throat and the shadow of her cleavage, he felt pretty proud that he only had to remind himself not to stare at her three times.
He realized that she was saying his name. Had been saying his name for a minute or two now. “Huh?”
“I said, can you get my back?”
Could he rub cream into her nearly-naked back, running his hands over her sun-warmed skin, down the line of her spine? Well, sure, he could. Whether he should was another question.
“Please?” she said.
“Okay,” he said because he was weak, and she was tilting her head and making puppy eyes the way she did. God, he was so weak. “Turn around.”
“Hmm?” She was looking over his shoulder.
“Turn around.”
“No,” she said suddenly. “Come around behind me.”
“What? I’m right here, I - ”
She tipped her sunglasses down and glared at him. “Come around behind me, I said.”
If puppy eyes made him weak, her glare turned him into the puppy.
He came around to sit cross-legged behind her, focusing on the nape of her neck, with the soft little baby hairs curling against it. Yep. This was going to be exactly as bad as he thought.
She handed the sunscreen bottle over her shoulder to him. “Is my phone in my bag?”
“Uh,” he said, rooting around. “Yeah. Here.”
“Thanks.”
He squirted sunscreen onto his fingertips and dabbed it against her shoulder blades. Oh man. That was actually worse. Not only was it supremely inefficient, she wiggled as it tickled her, which made him think of tickling her in other situations, and no, no, stop.
“Hey,” he said. “I’ve got an idea. Why don’t I just spray your back? With my sunscreen!” he added hastily. “It’s the spray-on kind.”
“What SPF is it?” she asked, fiddling with something on her phone.
"Twenty-five? Maybe thirty.” He thought it was overkill putting sunscreen on himself at all, but Caitlin and Iris had teamed up to terrorize him with statistics on skin cancer in people of color, and he wasn’t about to sit through that twice.
“In this sun, I’m going to broil like a lobster with anything less than fifty, trust me,” she said. “Just get a big glob on your hands and stroke it all over my back, okay?” She sounded distracted, looking off at something behind where he’d been sitting earlier.
He breathed through his nose and squeezed the bottle hard. A giant splat of sunscreen landed in his palm. He rubbed his hands together and settled both of them flat on her back
She leaned back into his touch and in spite of the hot sun, he broke out into a cold sweat.
“Cisco,” she murmured. “Do you see that?”
“Uh-huh,” he mumbled. "What?”
How was he supposed to look anywhere with her skin under his hands?
“That,” she said. “Straight ahead.”
Straight ahead was a scatter of freckles to the left of her spine. He wanted to trace them with his fingertip, make them into a constellation.
“The ice cream seller.”
“I’d love some ice cream,” he mumbled. Anything cold. Cryptosporidium or not, the lake was starting to look more and more appealing.
“His customer just handed him a fifty-dollar bill.”
“Must be nice.”
“No, and he got a handful of change back.”
Cisco blinked. Everyone knew shit was overpriced at the lake. That’s why you brought your own treats. But close to fifty dollars for three ice cream cones? He squinted at the stand. “Don’t suppose that’s gourmet ice cream?”
“It would have to be infused with gold flakes to cost that much.”
“How are you seeing this?” he asked. The ice cream seller was a good hundred yards away.
She held up her phone, set to video mode. “That super-zoom app you developed. Very handy.”
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome. What do you think, some kind of mind control?”
Cisco watched the ice-cream buyer come back their way, trying to hold all three cones. “Maybe, but he doesn’t seem that out of it.” He noticed the guy glance up at Caitlin, look away, and then look back.
He couldn’t blame him one bit.
He leaned over Caitlin’s shoulder, maybe a little closer than he needed to, and said, "Hey, wave him over.“
"Sir,” she called out. “Excuse me!”
As most female-attracted types would when a gorgeous brunette in a bikini waved at them, he detoured. “Yes?”
She took off her sunglasses and smiled up at him. “Hi.”
“Hi,” he said, smiling back.
Caitlin put the earpiece of her sunglasses in her mouth. “Can I just ask how much that ice cream cost?”
She was practically fluttering her lashes. What the hell? Was she flirting with this jerk and his drippy ice cream?
Clearly the jerk thought so, because he answered, “Oh, like, four-something. You want me to go grab you one? I’d be happy to.”
“And what did you pay with?” Cisco asked.
The guy looked over at him, frowning. “What does that matter?”
“Just doing a poll,” he said, scrabbling for a believable story. “On how many small vendors accept credit card.”
Ice Cream Guy looked skeptical. The chocolate cone began dribbling down over his knuckles.
“It’s for CCPN,” Cisco added, because hanging out with Iris had taught him there was some magic in the vague promise that you’d see yourself in the news.
“I paid cash.”
“What denomination of bill?” Caitlin asked.
He frowned. She leaned back, stretching out her bare legs, crossing them at the ankle and wiggling her toes with their gold toenail polish.
Cisco resisted the temptation to grab her cover-up and throw it over her, because they were her long, sleek legs and her cutely polished toes and she could show them off if she wanted to. Also, the frown was easing off Ice Cream Guy’s face.
“A five,” he said. “I remember because I didn’t think I had any fives in my wallet.”
She looked over her shoulder at Cisco. “Thanks so much,” she said. “You’ve been so helpful.”
“Bye,” Cisco added, because Ice Cream Guy showed signs of lingering, maybe asking for Caitlin’s number or something. And that was happening over his dead body.
He reconsidered. Not dead. He’d done that, 0/10, would not recommend. Maybe his extremely unconscious body. It wasn’t happening, was his point.
Because they had a meta to catch. Yeah. They didn’t have time to waste on some horny fool lusting after Caitlin.
Good reminder.
“What do you think?” Caitlin asked him in an undertone as Ice Cream Guy departed, shoulders sagging, ice cream melting faster than ever. “Could that be where people’s money is disappearing to?”
They’d thought it was a pickpocket, but after seeing that - “Leprechaun gold,” he said.
She gave him one of her patented Caitlin Looks. “Leprechauns?”
“No,” he said. “Leprechaun gold. Oh come on! I know you read Goblet of Fire.”
“The money’s not dissolving,” she pointed out.
“Right, but he is deceiving them. Making them think they’re giving him a way smaller bill than they really are.”
She scrunched up her face in thought. “Do you have any big bills in your wallet?”
“Got a twenty.”
“That’ll do. I think I want some ice cream.” She got up, dusting sand off her butt. Her cute round butt, barely covered by that damn bikini, and the sand stuck to her skin like a dusting of sugar …
“Cisco?”
“Huh?”
She gazed down at him, straightening her sun hat and shrugging into her cover-up. “Are you coming?”
“Yep,” he said, scrambling to his feet. “Yep, right there with you.” Right, they had a job to do, which didn’t include drooling over one of his best friends.
Iris looked up as they breached into Star Labs. “Hey, guys, good work.” Cisco had texted her from the beach while Caitlin was turning the Illusionist - “no, Cisco, we’re not calling him the Leprechaun, pick something else!” - over to the police.
“Thanks,” Cisco said. “Guy had made an easy thousand dollars or so this weekend already, screwing with people’s perception of the bills they were giving him. It was hard to catch him because he switched up what he was selling.”
Iris nodded. “People generally don’t remember the person selling them something, just what they bought. Sorry your beach day was interrupted, though.”
“Eh,” Cisco said. “Too hot anyway. I’m going to go get something cold. Real cold.” He headed off, his flip-flops thwacking against the tile floor, leaving Caitlin and Iris in the cortex.
Iris asked Caitlin, “You said you got video?”
“All on here.” Caitlin passed her phone over, and Iris hooked it up.
She glanced over her shoulder as the video started uploading, and asked in a lower voice, “And how did the bikini work out?”
Caitlin scowled. “Less well. I don’t think he even noticed I was wearing it. And not in the I’m thinking about you naked way. More like the you’re a piece of furniture way. He gave the damn umbrella more attention.“
"What, really? Did you try the sunscreen trick?”
“Yes! And I flirted with someone else, right in front of him. See, right there!”
Iris watched Caitlin-on-the-screen cock her head and smile at the man with the three ice cream cones. “That didn’t work?”
“He just kept asking questions about the case. I think I screwed up when I mentioned intestinal parasites.”
Iris hummed. “On the one hand, that’s generally not regarded as sexy. On the other hand, if he was going to be put off by disgusting medical facts, he wouldn’t be your friend.”
“I want him to be more than my friend, though.”
Iris patted her shoulder, one eye on the video. “I know.”
“Maybe it’s time I faced it,” Caitlin said sadly, plopping down at the desk and resting her chin in one hand. “We’ve just been friends for too long. He’s never going to see me in any light other than platonic.”
On the screen, Caitlin got up and went striding toward the ice cream vendor. Cisco was so busy staring at her that he tripped over the umbrella on his way to follow.
Iris raised a brow. “Are you sure about that?”

(my first fanfiction every. Hope you like.)
Warning: It’s pretty long.
Missing the Cold
You haven’t been the same since Leonard sacrificed himself to save the team. The waverider felt empty without his sarcastic comments. You knew Mick was taking the death of his partner not so well, even Sara was taking it hard due to them being friends over this whole journey so you found solace in her.
“I don’t know how Mick is still functioning after losing Snart,” you say sitting next to Sara on her bed, “they have been together since juvie as partners and yet I think we are taking this the hardest.”
Sara looks at you and puts her arm over your shoulder, “That may be y/n, but one thing I’ve learned that death isn’t the end. I should know. I’ve seen more death in my life than anyone ever should and yet I find that it’s never truly the end of one’s life.” Sara says while taking the navy blue parka, you thought was lost when he died, out from the corner and places it on your lap. “I find that they live in memories y/n and that as much as we feel like they have gone,” she says while cressing the fur of the hood* “they never truly disappear.” As you look at her she smiles and pats your back while holding back tears.
“Thank you Sara. You have no idea how much this means to me.” Sara looks at you and puts a hand on your shoulder, “you never told him did you, y/n?”
* * Flashback * * *
“Oh come on Snart let me wear it one time. Please??” You say walking behind him. “Why do you wanna wear my parka so badly y/n?” He says as he stops walking and turns to you making to smile.
“Because I just want to. That’s all.” Y/n says while crossing their arms looking at him with a serious face.
Leonard looks into your eyes trying to see what you're not telling him then sighs. “Fine but on one condition.” He says opening the door to his quarters as he walks in and grabs the parka off of the coat rack and walks back out.
“Name it Snart.” You say smiling knowing that you won.
“Start calling me Leo, Len, or Lenny. My friends call me that.” He says handing you the parka while smirking.
“You got it Sna- I mean Len.” You say smiling as you hug the parka and go off to your room and put it on looking at yourself in the mirror.
“Looks good on you kitten.” He says while stopping at your door while Sara, Ray, and Mick walk past your room as they head to the kitchen for dinner.
“You think so???” You say turning around smiling as the fur of the hood is covering your eyes.
He smirks and walks over to you lifting the hood up at see your e/c eyes. “Yes it does, but it’s missing something.” He says while taking a snowflake necklace out of his pocket.
You blush a bit and move your h/c hair away from your neck as he nods for you to turn around, “I thought Captain Cold didn’t give people gifts.”
“Well, I guess you thought wrong kitten.”, He says while putting the necklace on you.
* * * End of Flashback * * *
“Y/n? Hello?” Sara ways her hand in front of your face, “White Canary to h/n.” “Sorry Sara. I zoned out again.” This has been happening for a couple weeks. The zoning out: on missions, during meetings, dinner and even while sparring.
After you left Sara’s room Mick saw you and walked over to you after exiting the kitchen. “He there n/n”
“Hey Mick.” You say as you hold the parka close to you. “I see you got Leonard’s parka. He always said you would look good in it.” As he said this you looked at him with a bit of shock.
“Len said that, really?” Mick nods and walks with you down the hall to your door. “Yeah he did. I may be thick but I knew my partner was in love with you even if he didn’t see it himself.”
You look at him holding back tears, “After working with someone as long as we did.” He sighs “You see things that they don’t.”
“Mick, are you saying whatI think you’re saying???” You say trying your hardest not to cry as one tear escapes and runs down your cheek.
“Yes, y/n. I am.” He says patting your back and walks down the hall. As he leaves you go into your room and close the door as you slide down the door crying. “He loved me. I should of told him how I felt.” You say as you run your hands through your hair.
* * * Flashback * * *
“Len it’s beautiful. Where did you get it?” You say turning to face him while smiling.
“Before we left I had Cisco make me a necklace pendant for my sister that had a tracking device in it so I know she is safe.” He says leaning against the wall near the mirror. “I told him to make a second one just in case. The one you are wearing now is that second one with a few minor adjustments.”
You blush a bit while smiling. “What kind of minor adjustments???” You say as you hold the pendant. “Well, I had Palmer add a vial reader so you know when you are hurt or pushing yourself too hard.” Leonard says while playing with his ring.
“That’s sweet of you Len.” You say smiling as he looks away saying something under his breath that you can’t hear but you ignore it. “Hey Len?”
“Hm?” He says looking at you. “We should probably go get some dinner before Stein and Jax argue over food again.” You say as you take the parka off and place on your bed carefully wanting to tell him.
“Good idea kitten.” He says walking to the door waiting for you. “Ladies first.”
* * * End of Flashback * * *
You sit there against the door playing with the necklace Leonard gave you as you accidentally press a button which progects a hologram of leonard.
“Hello y/n. If you are seeing this then I might be dead or in a coma. Which ever comes first. I know that you are most likely wearing my parka, I know how much you love that so I had Sara give it to you.”
You wipe away a few tears and put on the parka the as the hologram continues, “I also know that you miss me kitten.” As you heard this you cry a bit more, “Ever since we meet back in Central City when Barry introduced you to me when he needed my help with sending some metas to the Arrow’s island prison. Cisco was so protective of you that day along with Doctor Snow and I couldn’t wrap me head around it until I saw your powers in action. I had heard of the meta who could control light, wind, and ice but I didn’t know it was you. You intrigued me from the start with your powers but once I met you everything changed.”
You smile a bit as you create a light ball in your hands and wipe away your tears as the hologram continues. “You were nothing how I imagined you would be. You were something that warmed my frozen heart and I knew that if you felt the same we would be happy. That day I met you I never excepted you to be so beautiful let alone smart and powerful. And I fell for you. And I wish I could tell you this in person kitten, I love you y/n.”
As the hologram disappears Ray knocks on your door, “Hey Y/n, are you alright? I heard you crying and thought I would check up on you.”
You stand up and open the door with red eyes from crying. “Do you have cupcakes? I’ll tell you what’s wrong if you have cupcakes.” You say making Ray smile a bit.
“Good thing I came prepared then.” He says holding up a plate of your favorite cupcakes and a box a tissues. “May I?” You nod and step aside as he walks in. You close your door sit on your bed, “Sit down Ray.” As Ray sits down next to you he holds a cupcake for you to take. “As you know I met Leonard back in Central City while working with Barry.”
* * * Flashback * * *
You were working with Cisco on the meta human prison gadget as Joe talks with Barry as you sit next to Caitlyn. As Barry was talking to Joe, Leonard Snart walks in. “ Then lucky for you I figured out what it is you can get me. Hello, Detective. Nice to see you again. Caitlin, Cisco.” He looks at you a little taken back by you being new to the team but then composes himself and starts talking again. “I thought about your proposal. You want my help, this is what I want. My fingerprints, dental records, DNA, criminal records, family tree, everything there is in this world concerning Leonard Snart. I want it destroyed. All of it. At CCPD, online, everywhere.”
You zone out of the conversation as Joe talks to Barry with Snart present. As soon as Joe and Barry leave to talk Leonard walks over to you. “I don’t believe we have met, I’m Leonard Snart.” he says as he leans against the table.
“I know who you are Mr. Snart.” you say not looking up from what you are doing as Caitly speaks up. “Snart, have you hear about the meta human that can control and make ice, wind, and light?” “Yes I have, Caitlyn. Why?” He says looking at her as Cisco chuckles a bit while you try your hardest not to giggle. “You’re leaning on the desk next to her.” as she says this Leonard’s eyes widen.
“So, how’s it going in here?”, says Barry as Leonard turns to him. “So this is the meta that has been helping you that I see so much on the news?” You stand up as Barry smiles and walks over to you. “Leonard, I would you to met Y/n or how the world knows her Aureole.”
* * * End of Flashback * * *
“That was when I first met Len. He might of not known that I had a crush the moment I saw him, but I loved him even when he betrayed Barry that night. I forgave him because Central City wasn’t the same place it was before the particle accelerater explosion even being a criminal it was dangerous.” You say as you grab another cupcake.
“Wow, to be honest I thought love like that only exsisted with Oliver and Felicity.”, smiles a bit and takes a bite of his cupcake.
“That may be but we never told each other that we liked each other until it was too late when we kissed right before he scarficed himself.”, You say putting your hands in the parka pockets. “Its too bad we can’t get him back.”
Unknown to Ray and you Sara had taken the jump ship to see what see could do to save Leonard. “Are you sure that if we get there are the right time that we will save him Professor?” Sara says as she glances at Stein.
“If we show up a couple seconds before he blows up the Vanishing Point we may indeed save Mr. Snart.” he says while writing down calculations.
They arrive at the Vanishing Point as the waverider leaves and fly in the roof and see Leonard talking to a time master.
“There are no strings on me.” he says as Sara grabs his arm. “You ain’t dying today Leonard.” She says as she then freezes his hand with his cold gun and chops it off before they get on the drop ship and leave.
“Welcome back Mr. Snart.” Stien says as Sara pilots the jump ship as the Vanish Point explodes with them escaping the recage.
“You better have a good explaination for this.”, he says as he holds his arm. “Y/N is the main reason. And the second reason is that Mick is going crazy, literally. He has been seeing your “ghost”.” Sara says as she docks in the Waverider.
“Wait just a minute. How long has it been since I “Died”, Sara?” He says blocking Sara from leaving the jump ship.
“Len, you’ve been dead for two months.” Sara says as she helps Snart stand after hearing the news.
“We need to get him to the med bay to regenerate his hand.” says Professer Stein as he opens the door as Jax walks over. “You really brought him back. Aw yeah.” “Jefferson would you please tell Mr. Rory to get Ms. L/N and tell them to wait on the bridge.”
* * * Five Minutes Later * * *
“Why are we here?”, says Mick as he is sitting in one of the chairs on the bridge. “Yeah Jax, why are we here?” you say as you take off Leonard’s parka and put it on his chair as a tear falls from your eye.
“I thought you two would be happy to see me. Guess I must have been wrong.” As you hear this both Mick and you turn to where the very familiar voice to be greeted by the person you both have missed so much.
“You see him too, right?”, Mick says standing up as you wipes away more tears as Leonard walks over the two of you while Jax leaves the room joining Sara, Ray, Stein and Rip.
“You do know that this could have gotten both of you killed.” Rip says to Stein and Sara. “That is true Rip, but it didn’t and now are team is whole again
“Len, how are you?” you say as he hugs you. “Sara, she took the jump ship, froze my hand, and took me back to here.”, he says as Mick puts his hand on Leonard’s shoulder. “I’ll leave you two alone.” Mick says right before he joins the others that are watching Leonard and you.
“So Sara did give you the parka I see.” Len says as he picks up the parka as he looks at you smiling a bit.
“Yeah she did. And I found the hologram message you made in the necklace you gave me. Why didn’t you tell me Len?” you say as you walk closer to him.
“The same reason you didn’t. The uncertainty that you wouldn’t feel the same.” he says as he puts the parka over your shoulders while smiling a bit. “It always did look good on you.”
You smile while looking up at him, “That may be true but it always looks good on you.” You say as you lean up and kiss his cheek.
“I think you missed y/n”, he says as he kisses you while you wrap your arms around his neck letting the parka fall to the floor.
While this is happening everyone gives Sara 20 dollars each. “Told you he would kiss her first.”, says Sara.
