OKAY once i’m done with the first quest (brain is very bad at letting me play video games it’s an issue) i’ll drop the uid because that gives me motivation to actually open the game and do shit!!!

now onto the scp thoughts: so. reader creates teyvat, fucks off to earth to take a nap, but picture this with me for a second: instead of eventually being born a regular human until you play genshin, there’s something a bit off about you from the beginning. you look human, sound and act human, but the world always seems to work in your favor even when it logically shouldn’t - the air around you warms up when it’s snowing so that you’re not too cold, obstacles seem to vanish when you walk so that your path isn’t interrupted, animals are calm and polite in your presence. pretty weird, but nothing worth alerting any supernatural government organizations about.

i have no clue what would tip off the scp foundation, BUT they take you in, designate you as a keter class because of how your “reality bending” abilities would easily serve to break you out. maybe they treat you fairly well, maybe not, but it doesn’t change the fact that you’ve been locked up and decided to be less than human because of something you don’t even understand.

you dream of another world, a world where you are free to be what you are. a bright world that feels like home, even though you don’t think you’ve ever been there before.

thaumiel reader who’s… like the very earth itself. it makes sense, they’re the one who made it, they’re one with the concrete walls and iron chains- maybe they’re miscategorized as keter because of the form they take, but- ok the best example i have is that ikea scp. the ikea is the scp but it has separate sentient like. things inside it right? it’s like that: you’re literally one with the earth, with everything on and in it, but you take ‘host’ as a humanoid.

all i’m thinking is all the damn paperwork it’ll take to try and 1) reclass reader as thaumiel because how to they know what’s a thaumiel anymore if the whole world is a box(referencing that one chart describing the differences in class)? 2) how do you even have a thaumiel class scp the size of the fucking planet?

luckily you seem benevolent enough, but the higher ups who know about you are always cautious when walking by your cell.

Aadhaar Locking Issue - Solved

"Dear Resident you are either trying to lock a locked UID or trying to unlock an unlocked UID."

If you are seeing this message while verifying or unlocking your Aadhaar number, then please read this complete post. I have faced this issue for more than 3 years and I know the pain. More importantly, I’ll tell you the solution of this issue, which you wouldn’t get from any of the self-proclaimed Aadhaar expert on YouTube.

I faced this problem for the first time in 2018 when Maadhaar app on my mobile stopped working. I didn’t care much as this seemed to be a temporary issue to me. But when this issue didn’t get resolved after 2 months, I wrote a review (giving one star) in Google Playstore. They replied back saying that the issue is with my mobile or internet connection. So, I tried with different mobile set and different SIM, but still was not able to open Maadhaar app.

Then I thought that I might have done something wrong, for example I might have mistakenly enabled Aadhaar lock or biometric lock. So, I tried logging into the UIDAI portal using my Aadhaar number. But every time I got “UID is already locked” error.

UIDAI portal has an option of logging in using VID instead on Aadhaar number, if the Aadhaar is locked. So, I retrieved my VID using SMS service (RVID XXXX to 1947, where XXXX is the last 4 digit of Aadhaar). And I was finally able to login to UIDAI portal. I went through all the options available in the portal, but was not able to unlock my Aadhaar. It always gave me this message - "Dear Resident you are either trying to lock a locked UID or trying to unlock an unlocked UID."

This is when I realized that my Aadhaar number somehow has become “corrupted” and it’s neither locked nor unlocked. Since this issue happened for unknown reason, I assumed this would get resolved automatically. Believe it or not, I logged in to UIDAI portal almost in every week for last 2 years just to check if the issue got resolved, but was left disappointed every time. I started searching in google with this error message hoping that someone else might be facing same issue just like me, unfortunately there was none (back in 2019/2020).

Finally, I started calling/emailing UIDAI customer care. I took the screenshots of the issue and shared a document with customer care. But no one from customer care bothered to check the issue and they were sending same reply again and again mentioning the same unlocking steps which I already tried. I couldn’t make them believe that my issue is different and as a result those steps were completely useless to me. In fact, no one from Aadhaar department or UIDAI was aware that such issue is there in their system! Please see below the reply that I always received from UIDAI customer care whenever I contacted them.

I became very agitated and escalated it in “Centralized Public Grievance Redress And Monitoring System” (pgportal.gov.in). But they gave me steps for unlocking biometric! These idiots think that they know everything and they are not even aware of the issues in their own system. Here is the reply from the grievance department. I don't know how these f*ckers managed to bag Govt. jobs 😒

After losing all hope I went back to Google and started searching the error message again. But this time (in November 2021) I was “glad” to found that the issue is happening for others as well. I found some Reddit blogs, Twitter posts, YouTube comments where same issue was reported. Almost all the replies/responses were useless, just like UIDAI customer care. But I noticed couple of replies which suggested that updating Aadhaar in an Enrolment Center might resolve this. I decided to give it a try as I didn’t have any other option left.

I had all the correct information already available in my Aadhaar. So biometric update was the only option me. My home is about 50 km away for Kolkata. I booked an online appointment at a center in Salt Lake Sector V, on 24th January after paying Rs. 100.00/- online (https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/bookappointment.aspx). I carried the print out of the appointment slip and my original Aadhaar card, and visited the center. I entered the building after showing the appointment slip, they gave me a token and asked me to wait. When my turn came, they took me to a desk and took my photo, eye scan and finger print. They told me that it would take 15 days to get the details updated. I didn’t mention anything about my locking issue to them as I was pretty sure that they wouldn’t understand it. The whole process (from entering the building till leaving) took around 20 mins.

The first thing I did after coming back home was to check if I can login to UIDAI using my Aadhaar. But that didn’t work and my Aadhaar was still locked, so I decided to wait for 15 days. But on 30th Jan I tried again and this time it worked. I was able to login to UIDAI using my Aadhaar. I was able to login to Maadhaar App without any issue. After living for more than 3 years with this frustrating issue which created lots of trouble for me (not able to link my PF account with my Aadhaar, failing Aadhaar verification etc.), finally I can confirm that the issue has been resolved. No one from Aadhaar department or UIDAI was able to help as those morons don’t even know about this problem in their own system. UIDAI portal is still showing my old picture, but I’m expecting that to be resolved after 10/15 days 😊

I hope this post helps someone, as I don’t want anyone else to feel helpless and suffer like I did.

How Does John the Ripper Work?

JtR supports several common encryption technologies out-of-the-box for UNIX and Windows-based systems. (ed. Mac is UNIX based). JtR autodetects the encryption on the hashed data and compares it against a large plain-text file that contains popular passwords, hashing each password, and then stopping it when it finds a match. Simple.

In our amazing Live Cyber Attack demo, the Varonis IR team demonstrates how to steal a hashed password, use JtR to find the true password, and use it to log into an administrative account. That is a very common use case for JtR!

JtR also includes its own wordlists of common passwords for 20+ languages. These wordlists provide JtR with thousands of possible passwords from which it can generate the corresponding hash values to make a high-value guess of the target password. Since most people choose easy-to-remember passwords, JtR is often very effective even with its out-of-the-box wordlists of passwords.

JtR is included in the pentesting versions of Kali Linux.

What is John the Ripper Used for?

JtR is primarily a password cracker used during pentesting exercises that can help IT staff spot weak passwords and poor password policies.

Here is the list of encryption technologies found in JtR:

That’s the “official” list. JtR is open-source, so if your encryption of choice isn’t on the list do some digging. Someone might have already written an extension for it.

How to Download John the Ripper

JtR is an open-source project, so you can either download and compile the source on your own, download the executable binaries, or find it as part of a penetration testing package.

The official website for John the Ripper is on Openwall. You can grab the source code and binaries there, and you can join the GitHub to contribute to the project.

JtR is available on Kali Linux as part of their password cracking metapackages.

Tutorials for Using John the Ripper

We are going to go over several of the basic commands that you need to know to start using John the Ripper. To get started all you need is a file that contains a hash value to decrypt.

If you ever need to see a list of commands in JtR, run this command:

Cracking Passwords

John the Ripper’s primary modes to crack passwords are single crack mode, wordlist mode, and incremental. The single crack mode is the fastest and best mode if you have a full password file to crack. Wordlist mode compares the hash to a known list of potential password matches. Incremental mode is the most powerful and possibly won’t complete. This is your classic brute force mode that tries every possible character combination until you have a possible result. Iobit folder lock crack.

The easiest way to try cracking a password is to let JtR go through a series of common cracking modes. This command below tells JtR to try “simple” mode, then the default wordlists containing likely passwords, and then “incremental” mode.

You can also download different wordlists from the Internet, and you can create your own new wordlists for JtR to use with the –wordlist parameter.

If you want to specify a cracking mode use the exact parameter for the mode.

Word Mangling Rules

Mangling is a preprocessor in JtR that optimizes the wordlist to make the cracking process faster. Use the –rules parameter to set the mangling rules.

Viewing Your Output

When you want to see the list of passwords that you have cracked, use the –show parameter.

If your cracked password list is long, you can filter the list with additional parameters. You can also redirect the output using basic redirection in your shell. For example, if you want to see if you cracked any root users (UID=0) use the –users parameter.

In this scenario, our hacker used kerberoast to steal a Kerberos ticket granting ticket(TGT) containing the hash to be cracked, which was saved in a file called ticket.txt. In our case, the wordlist used is the classic rockyou password file from Kali Linux, and the command was set to report progress every 3 seconds.

Password cracking a Word document or an Excel file hasbecome much easier. Previously you hadto rely on a flaw in the document, some sketchy software or an even sketchierwebsite. Since October 2014 OclHashcat now supports cracking the documentspassword. The process is simple but notas straight forward as a novice might want. You need a couple of things agraphics card capable of cracking using GPU’s, such as an NVidia card with cudasupport, OclHashcat version 1.31 or greater, python, and a password protecteddocument.

I’m writing this for Windows because, let’s face it if youlost a password for Word, Excel or Powerpoint you probably have Windows. First go to hashcat.netgrab the correct OclHashcat version for your GPU either AMD or NVidia. Download it and unzip it, you may need 7zipif you can’t unzip the file. Next, you need python, get that here python.org.(I’m not going to say use Python 2.7 or Python3 just grab whatever, I just use2.7.) Grab the installer, and install it. You also need a python script calledoffice2john and you can get that here office2john.Long story short john the ripper another password cracking suite is alsocapable of doing this, but I prefer OclHashcat.

Now, we have everything we need to recover that passwordright? Nope, we need one more thing some dictionaries to use with OclHashcat.Get those from SkullSecurity. You can move on torule attacks or brute force if the dictionaries fail. One of my first go tolists is the rockyou list start there.

Let’s get cracking, open up a command prompt and navigate tothe directory with the office2john.py file and the password protectedfile. Enter: python office2john.py FILENAME, filenamebeing the protected document. After a second you will see the output likebelow:

Entering --help after thecudahashcat32.exe or cudahashcat64.exe will show you the hash type numbers andyou pick the one that matches your office version you see in the extracted hashabove.

In the image the hash was cracked in 4 seconds with thepassword being “Password”. If thatdoesn’t work try another dictionary use rules or try to brute force. Keep inmind that a brute force can take a LONG TIME.

Safe mode has many background maintenance features. In safe mode, your Mac:

Reasons to start your Mac in Safe Mode

Mac's Safe Mode minimizes the applications you have available on your Mac to help identify where any issues might be coming from. Starting up your computer and making it run in Safe Mode is also known as a safe boot (safe boot is how your Mac starts, Safe Mode is how it runs).

Booting in Safe Mode doesn’t just restrict your applications: A safe boot also checks through your startup drive to make sure there are no problems there.

A fault in your system (like corrupted boot sector) might be preventing you from using your Mac at all. By booting in Safe Mode, your Mac can work with macOS core processes to get back into the system and identify problems, such as floating extensions or rogue applications, that you can then remove.

What happens in Safe Mode

When your computer is prompted to perform a safe boot, it will perform a number of tasks before you can use it, which include:

A directory check of the startup drive;

Running on only the bare minimum of necessary kernel extensions;

Disabling all startup or login applications;

Deleting the dynamic loader cache, which can help fix blue screen freeze on startup (OS X 10.5.6 or later);

Disabling all fonts that are not supplied by Apple and moving all font caches to the Trash.

Troubleshooting in Safe Mode

Once your Mac is running in Safe Mode, some applications will no longer be available. If your Mac is working fine in Safe Mode, then it’s likely that one of the restricted applications is responsible for the issues. You can manage the list of startup applications manually, removing the potential buggy apps one at a time to see if it affects the performance. Open Apple Menu > System Preferences Click Users & Groups icon Choose your username, then click Login items Use [-] sign to remove startup items

There is still a problem though. Manually deleting problem applications still leaves their traces deep in the system, so it’s best to use a dedicated Mac cleanup software like CleanMyMac X to double check your Mac is clear of any problematic files.

If your Mac continues to run into difficulties even in Safe Mode, you may need to use Mac’s native recovery tool, Disk Utility.

Identifying the problem

Here is a list of most common system issues Mac users encounter when their Mac isn’t running at peak performance:

Corrupted startup files or login applications

Software conflicts

Damaged hardware

Too many apps running, or too much junk cluttering up your disk

To diagnose your Mac more precisely, we recommend performing a full scan with some dedicated Mac cleaning app. As described above, CleanMyMac is our favorite (you can download this app here for free). This app made by the guys from MacPaw sports a handy Dashboard, with hardware health monitors among others, which should give you a clue as to what’s wrong with your system.

How to start your Mac in Safe Mode

To restart your Mac in Safe Mode, begin with your Mac switched off or restart it.

1) As soon as your Mac switches on and lights up, press and hold the Shift key.

2) Release the Shift key as soon as the login window appears.

That’s it, your Mac has now been booted in safe mode. Note that it may take longer than usual to boot your computer: This is because there are several checks being performed before it’s ready to use.

If you don’t trust your Mac to turn off and on again without further complications, or for some other reason you would prefer not to safe boot from the startup screen, there is an alternative using the Terminal application.

1) Locate Terminal: Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

2) In the Terminal command line, type the following code and then press Enter:

sudo nvram boot –arg=”-x”

3) You will be asked to enter your password to authorize.

4) Your Mac will now reboot in safe mode. You will not have to hold the Shift key when the computer restarts, simply log in when prompted.

Running your Mac in Safe Mode

If you’re not sure whether your safe boot was successful, there are a couple of ways you can check.

‘Safe Mode’ will appear in red in the menu bar

The boot mode will be listed as ‘Safe Mode’ (instead of ‘Normal’). To find your boot mode, click on the Apple logo in the menu (top left) and select This Mac. Choose System Report, then Software, and from there you will be able to see whether you are in normal or safe mode.

Your performance speed will change. Typically macOS will run slower when it is in Safe Mode due to the reduced processes, but if you have noticed some serious lagging this may be improved by the faulty applications being restricted.

Working in Safe Mode

Running your macOS in Safe Mode is normally used to troubleshoot glitches that you have noticed, such as lag, crashing, or spontaneous closures of applications. You should try to use your Mac as you normally do so that you can see if the issues have disappeared in Safe Mode or are still there.

You will find that some features aren’t available, such as third-party fonts, the DVD player, and audio in/out devices, which may limit how productive you can be, so it’s best to identify the fault in Safe Mode, fix it, and return to normal mode to work as usual.

Exiting Safe Mode

Once you’re finished in Safe Mode, simply restart your Mac. It should then reboot as normal, hopefully with improved performance.

If you’re using Terminal commands to return to normal, type

It may take a little longer than usual to shut down from safe mode, but don’t become impatient and use the power button to force a hard shut down.

Booting in Safe Mode Unprompted

If your Mac automatically enters Safe Mode itself without you pressing shift or using the Terminal, don’t panic. Your Mac may have detected an issue that it thinks needs repairing in Safe Mode. If this happens only once, then great, your Mac did its job and cleaned up the issue before it could cause any more problems.

If your Mac is stuck restarting in a Safe Mode loop, try entering another startup configuration, the Recovery Mode, by pressing Command (?) + R upon startup. This will perform a Disk Utility scan to check for issues, and, if that doesn’t work and you have backed up your files, you can try a reinstalling a clean copy of macOS to start fresh.

Tip: Check your keyboard is clean and that there is no debris beneath the keys. If the shift key has become stuck, your Mac will think it’s being pressed during startup to initiate a safe boot.

The Cyber Sleep Era

We should have expected this, since so many other areas of life are being digitized. Cyber monitoring and management of business and industry has been extended to our vehicles and our phones, and it has been coming into our homes. They all can be on cyber networks.

The Smart Home

This was forecast about 20 years ago. Literature within communications technology companies, such as Ericsson, explained how their work was leading to homeowners being able to communicate with their houses from anywhere. A few of the functions named were monitoring surveillance systems, reprogramming lighting schedules, unlocking and relocking doors for service contractors or guests, and adjusting heating/cooling systems. The Smart House was then a thing of the future. That future is now.

Bigger Than Beds – The Internet of Things (IoT)

One predicted item was the Internet of Things (IoT). Smart appliances would connect with servers to order groceries, report problems, schedule maintenance, and relay messages to the owners, who could tend to their refrigerator or HVAC. This has expanded to health monitoring, and now includes beds.

The internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

Smart Sleep Systems – From Pedometers to Sleep Trackers

The first pedometers were mechanical. They literally ticked off the number of steps taken or arm motions made, and were wound and reset the same way as a mechanical watch or clock. Then, like wrist watches, they were electrified, then digitized.

Then pedometers joined the IoT. Manufacturers of exercise equipment, such as NordicTrack, digitized the settings and readouts of treadmills, stationary cycles, and other exercisers. Simultaneously, digital monitoring of patients’ vital signs was developed. These systems have now come together and applied BlueTooth, cell phone, WiFi, and satellite technology to create health monitoring networks.

The Promise of Smart Beds

It was only a matter of time until IoT remote health monitoring would invade home bedrooms. But first, there had to be sleep tracking and smart beds. Sleeping places have come a long way from piles of leaves to digital beds.

Most of the focus of cyber sleep has been on health. It is essential for our well-being to get enough rest and restoration. Good sleep is not always easy to get. There may be any of several sleep issues to deal with, such as sleep apnea and hypopnea, neck and back pain, snoring, and digestive disorders. Some conditions, such as fibromyalgia and severe arthritis, may keep sufferers from sleeping well.

The purpose of a smart bed is to help us get enough quality sleep. Moving beyond preset settings for positions of an adjustable base, firmness in an adjustable airbed, and temperature (such as in a waterbed), our temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, breathing, sleeping position, movements, snoring, pressure points, and other indicators may be monitored. This information can be uploaded to a database on an IoT server to correlate with measurements taken during the day to analyze our sleep and make recommendations and/or adjust the bed, perhaps even the lighting, temperature, and sounds in the house and the bedroom. The real question is, “How well does this work?”

Does It Work?

How well do smart beds work? Do they really help us sleep better? Better for what? For back and neck pain? For fibromyalgia? For sleep apnea and snoring? Judging by the recorded experiences of those who have used smart beds, for some people they work, for some they don’t. In considering this, here are a few caveats:

(1) Each person is writing about only one smart bed, which does not take into account other brands and models. (2) The date of the review matters. The smart sleep systems may be at different stages of development at the times of writing. (3) There are factors other than the bed itself and the smart sleep system which impact the quality of our sleep. (4) At the same time, we should differentiate between smart beds and sleep trackers.

For Some Users, Unmet Expectation

Two writers who were disappointed with a smart bed – Megan Wollerton on Cnet and Katharine Schwab on Fast Code – used It Bed by Sleep Number. Both reviews were written in late 2016. The it Bed collects and displays a vast quantity of information. Both reviewers complained that they had to wake up, get out of bed, then get back in for the bed to self-adjust. This and other glitches actually worked against getting a good night’s sleep.

In 2016, the it Bed and its system were new, subject to refinement. However, more than a year later, January 2018, Jenny McGrath said in her review of the it Bed on Digital Trends, “It’ll track your sleep, but don’t ask this Sleep Number mattress to improve it.”

For Some Users, Satisfaction

Four self-adjusting smart beds are recommended by their users: Sleep Number 360 Series, ReST Performance Bed, BeautyRest Smart Motion, Eight Sleep Tracker.

Sleep Number 360 Series – These beds, unlike the newer it Bed, self-adjust while the user is still sleeping. These are adjustable airbeds paired with adjustable bases, and both firmness and position are adjusted in response to the sensors’ data.

ReST Performance Bed – ReST (Responsive Surface Technology, LLC) utilizes the monitoring technology of parent company PatienTech in its Performance Bed, which is a memory foam bed with air support on an adjustable base. This was developed for health care facilities. BodiTrak, their sleep tracking system, is also sold separately.

BeautyRest Smart Motion – Smart Motion is an adjustable base that adjusts its position in response to data from sensors.

Eight Sleep Tracker – The Sleep Tracker by Eight is a sensor fabric cover which fits under the fitted sheet on Eight’s own mattresses, but is also sold separately. It does not control the bed itself (at least not Eight’s mattresses), but it does control house and room settings (temperature, lights, sounds) through WiFi, IoT, or BlueTooth. It can also lock and unlock doors if they are connected.

Do We Need Cyber Sleep to Sleep Smart?

Smart sleep technology is now available to help improve our sleep experience. But is it necessary? For many generations, people have been falling asleep at night and waking up in the morning rested and ready to work through the day.

One Factor of Several

In the Industrial Age and the Information Age, there are many factors working against people getting a full night of restful sleep. Insomnia is prevalent, and many try the equivalent of counting sheep to fall asleep. Lives are so busy that many people have trouble finding the right time to sleep. And in this, the Information Age, using electronic devices, especially those with screens, interferes with adequate rest.

Non-technological barriers to good sleep include poor habits. Even the best smart bed may not be able to counteract the effects of these habits.

TTAP - Issues Using Room

I find it odd that I haven’t updated this in a week after hitting an obstacle.  Talking through obstacles is exactly what I had in mind when I started this little series.

So I want persistent memory.  It’s pretty simple, in and of itself.  A user is going to input a day, and then the user is going to save off the calculated number of carbs consumed on that day.  Without being able to save this, the app is little more than a glorified calculator.  Worse, it’s little more than a glorified calculator that is only capable of adding and zeroing out.

So there are a few key things you have here, and I’m stealing code directly from the official Android example docs on Room.  For starters, you have an entity (I’m sticking to their example, to test, and modifying it later)

See the syntax of this?  This is Kotlin.  They can achieve a similar thing in Java, but here it is.  You have an annotation for the Entity, and then you can think of this as various attributes for an entry in a database.

Next they define a DAO, or a Database Access Object.  I won’t copy and paste that here.

And to actually use this, I’m in the onCreate linked to a button, trying to call an insert function I defined in the DAO myself.

The problem?  This is the problem

Cannot access database on the main thread since it may potentially lock the UI for a long period of time.

StackOverflow has a few suggestions, like using an asynctask, but the solution is super long.  I’d like to look into alternatives.

Stair Lifts - Benefits and Features

This article offers a brief description of the benefits that stair lifts can give their users. A well-adapted stair lift solution can return this choice. He is no longer faced with a departure from familiarity, friends and family or a reduced list of housing options.

The stair lifts also offer a benefit for the user's relatives: tranquility. They are excellent health and safety devices, safely transporting a passenger up and down the ladder without incident.

Many users of elevators can move around their house with relative ease but, worryingly for their families, finding stairs is a bit more difficult. In older homes, stairs can be narrower and more steep, challenging people with mobility problems and, once again, additional concerns for concerned family members. A well-installed and well-maintained lift can offer the assurance that a relative can safely climb the stairs at all times.

Characteristics

But how do stair lifts work and what features can you expect to find in one? The features obviously vary between models and manufacturers, but here is a basic summary of some of the most useful you may be looking for.

First, a ladder or chair lifts are very versatile and can be installed on any ladder, whether straight, curved, spiral or even outdoors. A stair lift chair, in the most basic terms, is simply a chair that runs on a track, precisely following the line of the stairs.

Stairlifts work with electricity. Many models are currently equipped with a backup battery that is continuously charged. This means that the stair lift can be used even in a power cut. Although power cuts are not common situations, for ladders users, the ability to climb stairs is not something that can be dispensed with. Bathrooms and rooms are often located on the top floor and any interruption in the power supply can lead to an awkward wait for the user.

A manual control, integral joystick or buttons are used to move the elevator up and down the stairs. If for some reason you are not on the same level as the elevator, you can call using controls at the top or bottom of the stairs, a great feature to make sure you can never be stranded.

Another safety feature available on some stair models is the swivel chair. While the stair lift moves up and down the stairs, it looks straight out of the wall. When the user climbs or falls from the chair, it turns 90 degrees and is locked, so that the person can dismount safely, with their backs to the stairs.

Safety belts are also included, which are vital for safety, and often a sensor that detects objects in the path of the stair lift. Many elevators have up to six sensors to pick up objects that block the road and prevent damage to the car. Sensors are also available that limit the speed of the stair lift and ensure a smooth ride. The trip will vary from one model to another, so try some to find the one that suits you best.

Another important feature to keep in mind is a blocking switch that prevents it from being operated by someone who should not. A stair lift can be a tempting prospect for a small child and this mechanism ensures that they can not operate it and potentially get hurt.

Gladiolus has long since grown used to this sight, of Ignis bent over the body of men and women who threatened the life of the one they had sworn themselves to. He held an indifference towards the body that twitched and choked in their own blood, fingers staining as they gripped at their neck trying to pull air into their lungs but ultimately drowning. Ignis made the kills, Gladiolus disposed of the bodies quickly and quietly.

He watched at the man straightened, swaying slightly and staggered to him. His arms opening to accepted the smaller frame and he huddled Ignis close pressing his face into the silken strands of hair atop the bespectacled man’s head. He waited patiently for the man’s heart to stop it’s pounding and the breathing to return to a normal pattern. Carefully and gently he detangled himself moving so he could wrap an arm around Ignis’ shoulders and led him from the room. The lock in the door clicked and he tucked the key safely into his pocket where he would retrieve it later to begin the process of disposing the corpse without the fear of anyone finding it beforehand. Only he, Ignis, and the head cleaner had keys to every room and the head cleaner was gone for the night.

Guiding Ignis down the hall that seemed longer then it should, he pressed a hand to the doorknob of a nearby door and pushed just enough to crack it open. Moving aside he let the advisor see their Prince, laying in his stomach, bare feet kicking in the air, controller in his hands concentrating on the screen that lit the room dimly. Blue eyes turned to him at the sudden light that flooded the area and Gladio shifted to block Ignis from view. It would not be wise to let the Prince see his blood covered advisor, now would it? The Prince really didn’t know of this secret duty the pair held. He alerted the younger teen of the time and to get to bed soon before closing the door quietly and guiding Ignis away.

As his room was closer if only by a door Gladio led him there. Locking the door behind them he guided Ignis to the bathroom gently nudging him to sit on the toilet while he started the shower up. Rummaging through his drawers he found a pair of sweatpants and a shirt that was more likely to fit his friend and placed the neatly folded close on the counter space of the white room.

❛ ❛ Clean up and get some rest in here okay? ❜ ❜ He asked gently crouching in front of Ignis and carefully taking a gloved hand within his larger, rough ones. Calloused fingers worked at the button that held the glove in place and he peeled them away from pale palms and delicate fingers. Once both were removed he putted Ignis’ hands closer and pressed a soft kiss to both, resting his forehead against his knuckles gently. An offer of comfort. He wasn’t Noctis, who would have been the best person for Ignis to rest the night with, but he knew of the secret they both held and he hoped he could offer some type of relief from the darkness that may grab at the Advisor’s dreams. He stood pulling away as he placed the gloves on the counter. ❛ ❛ You know where everything is, don’t forget to put those clothes in the basket.❜ ❜ It was….sad, they had a basket tucked in the closet of both their rooms for these kills where they personally would take them to the dry cleaners sometimes weekly, other times monthly. ❛ ❛ I’m going to dispose of the body.❜ ❜
