Yoonmi’s Relationships with BTS
(updated as of february 2024) (mentions of hangouts are all indicating before the members’ enlistments)
Tumblr media
JIN (Kim Seokjin)
Tumblr media
Since Yoonmi had become an adult, Seokjin had taken to treating her like an equal and rarely using his “oppa” card, which is a stark difference from when she was younger. Yes, she still goes to him for advice, and he is the one who still helps her with adult matters such as bills and taxes and lifestyle, but he also becomes a friend that she can mess around with like she’s with other friends around her age. In his mind, she still is a baby, but he understands that she’s matured, wants to be seen as more mature, and that she’d still see him as a parental figure no matter how old she gets. He likes to think this is her finally acting out since she’s always been a good kid.
Jinmi in ARMYs’ eyes: They enjoy witnessing how Seokjin always “cries” about how she’s grown so much. The shift in their dynamic was over the pandemic, and suddenly everyone could see that Yoonmi was more comfortably roughhousing with Seokjin, and he was responding more like he would to Jungkook rather than his previous shrugging off and fond smiles. Seeing them become more like similarly-aged friends really made ARMY realize how she had grown.
Iconic Moment: It was revealed through the BTS documentary on Disney+ that Yoonmi was the one who initially started cutting his hair off. She was given the shears by her stylist, and she was so hesitant while Jin just kept encouraging her with “How will I know if I look okay bald unless you start?”. So she cut his hair, only getting distracted a small bit when Yoongi and Jungkook came, then listened attentively as their stylist carefully explained what to do with the electric razor. She, with assistance from the stylist, evened out Seokjin’s shave until she stepped back, staring at him. “It looks good.” “Of course it does, look who you’re talking to”. The video cuts there, but the next of her seen in that context has teary eyes and is gripping tightly onto Yoongi’s hand.
SUGA (Min Yoongi)
Tumblr media
Yoongi is still very much her dad, that never changed The only thing that changed over the years is how they both actually address the fact that Yoongi is her father figure, second only to her adoptive father, and on level with her adoptive brother. Even the other members sometimes address Yoongi ad “Yoonmi’s dad” at this point. Yoongi and Yoonmi remained each other’s silent comfort person, the person who takes their side and hears them out first, and the person who they can go to when they feel overwhelmed. He’s there to hold her hand when things go wrong, and she’s there to give him a hug when things don’t go as planned.
2yoon in ARMYs’ eyes: Yoongi and Yoonmi is everyone’s comfort duo. When they’re together, there’s an air of warmth and calm, so everyone feels better after a long day when they watch 2yoon content. They find Yoongi’s care and the way Yoonmi looks up to him to the point of taking after him endearing, especially knowing Yoongi is the one Yoonmi never fought after their mysterious conflict in 2018.
Iconic Moment: Yoonmi went to all three days of the D-Day Tour finale. She, of course, did her feature on ‘Seven’ for Jungkook. During the ment where he kept them with him on stage, he thanked and praised Jungkook for ‘Burn It’ and ‘Seven’ before turning to Yoonmi. “And our princess, my daughter. She has something coming out this month and surprisingly didn’t want to spoil it—” “Surprisingly?” “— so she had a special request. As you all know, our Miya did the demo vocals of one of my previous mixtapes. I got to perform this song with our vocal line, but never with our princess. Until today.” So they performed ‘So Far Away,’ and the proud look on Yoongi’s face by the end as he looked at her made every ARMY feel like their troubles all disappeared.
J-HOPE (Jung Hoseok)
Tumblr media
Hoseok and Yoonmi treat each other like their own personal powerbanks. They could be tired, but, once they’ve spent time together, their energy levels go up. Yoonmi says that’s why she gravitates towards Hobi when drinking, because she’s usually a sleepy drunk. They like to escape together, as well, hanging out in the practice room or either of their studios where they experiment with different styles, genres, or just mess around to fuel their creativity. Of course, Hobi never stopped seeing her as his little prodigy, teaching her old school hiphop and openstyle dancing and watching her proudly while they learned new styles together.
Homi in ARMYs’ eyes: The two sunshines, that’s what they’re known as. Hobi brings in bright energy while Yoonmi makes everyone smile, making them everyone’s favorite duo to turn to when they want to laugh and get a pick-me-up. ARMYs love seeing Hobi treat Yoonmi like the little sister he’s never had but always wanted, too! Everyone knows both Hobi and his noona see Yoonmi as their youngest sibling at this point, which is why she even got Yoonmi to sing in her wedding reception.
Iconic Moment: Yoonmi vlogged her Lollapalooza experience, so some behind the scenes were uncovered there. Hoseok got Yoonmi to rehearse Chicken Noodle Soup with him while they were waiting for Becky, and the two ended up having so much fun that the band kept vamping the song, making it longer so the two could enjoy their mini cypher. “Oh, Yoona, you haven’t forgotten your basics!” “I have the best teacher!”
RM (Kim Namjoon)
Tumblr media
It used to be just Namjoon sitting to absorb and analyze the way Yoonmi’s mind works when they’re together. Now, she does the same to him, curious about his inner thoughts. They spend a lot of their time together having deeper conversations, whether it be about life, work, music, or just their thoughts. On the other side of things, they’re both clumsy dorks who geek out over their recent reads or watches together, actively showing interest in each other’s preferences because Namjoon wants to stay as someone who understands her almost best and Yoonmi wants to stay someone he can be proud of. Especially with Yoonmi, she wants to make her leader proud of her.
Joonmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Though ARMY initially thought they were awkward, that image disappeared. ARMYs see Joonmi and see a little sister looking to her older brother for validation, and him happily giving her that validation. ARMYs also enjoy the fact that these two together can go from 0 to 100 real quick, on any end of the meter. From just having lunch they can either go to talking about their plans for the future to being stuck in a laughing fit on the floor over a plastic utensil they’ve broken.
Iconic Moment: During the live with just the five of them, Yoonmi was a lot quieter compared to how she usually is. Namjoon kept glancing at her and tapping her leg to get her to talk. At some point, he bent to whisper something to her, then, when Taehyung opened his mouth, Namjoon quickly pushed a piece of pizza there. In his efforts to do so, he knocked over three cups. He looked at Yoonmi, who was now laughing, and he just nodded at himself in satisfaction.
JIMIN (Park Jimin)
Tumblr media
Yoonmi has not changed in Jimin’s eyes in the way that she’s still his youngest Busan Baby. Whenever she tells him she’s an adult now, he always pouts at her and goes on a spiel about how she’ll still be his baby even when they’re in their 80s and beyond that. He invites her over to his apartment a lot, or he just stays at her’s (partly because Jungkook and her niece are usually there as well) because he genuinely enjoys her company and being able to sit with her. He also takes every opportunity he can get to give her princess treatment because he believes she should always be treated like Bangtan’s princess (even though she’s trying to shake off the delicate image that had somehow formed over the years)
Minmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Minmi are both very very affectionate, with their habit of holding onto each other unknowingly. ARMYs have so many compilations of them sharing the tightest hugs or exchanging the softest forehead kisses, naming them the mythical siblings due to the way they treat each other. Everyone also loves how these two speak either in pout or in giggles, no in between!
Iconic Moment: Nobody thought Yoonmi would be able to make it to Jimin’s fanmeet due to her solo promotions, but, while he was going to take a photo with the attendees, the “staff” who came on stage removed her padded long coat, revealing Yoonmi. ARMY started cheering while Jimin’s jaw dropped, then he rushed up to hug her really tight. “Yah, how long have you been here?” “The past hour? I had this in my schedule, oppa. You didn’t think I would miss your documentary screening, did you?” “You’re really something else, aegi.”
V (Kim Taehyung)
Tumblr media
Taehyung and Yoonmi both matured a lot more visible than the other members, so their dynamic shifted a little bit from overly-doting big brother and complying baby sister to a pair of siblings more along a similar wavelength. While they’re still quite playful and he still dotes on her, their age gap isn’t as prominent in their actions. It’s clear that they both see how each other have grown, and it’s something they like to just observe when they’re with each other. They’re proud of each other’s growth, but more proud of how they managed to keep their friendship completely intact despite both of them changing over the years.
Taemi in ARMYs’ eyes: Taehyung and Yoonmi started posting more content together, which everyone enjoyed since they used to keep their off-screen friendship mostly to themselves. Now ARMYs enjoy seeing their posts when they meet up to go to jazz clubs, have coffee, or just do anything together. ARMYs also love seeing how they shifted from over-excitable kids to more mature youths who support and take care of each other.
Iconic Moment: An ARMY saw them in a jazz club together. Allegedly, there were a few cocktails on the table, and the two of them seemed to be exchanging stories the entire time they were there, never once letting there be dead air. Apparently Tae also tried to play the saxophone and let out a really out of tune note, but Yoonmi just cheered him on. The ARMY was able to take a picture with them, saying that they were both happy to see her yet politely asked to not post anything while they were still there. She promised, and the two were said to have continued their night of stories and jazz music.
JUNGKOOK (Jeon Jungkook)
Tumblr media
If anything can describe these two, it’s the phrase ‘ride or die’. Yoonmi and Jungkook would drop everything if the other called them and said they were in need. Almost thirteen years of friendship and growing up alongside each other really molded them into being two peas in a pod, especially since they both hit their twenties. They would see each other every other day and talk to each other at least once a day. Jungkook had gotten less overprotective (especially now that she has a boyfriend), and he has increased his role as the main mythbuster of Yoonmi’s delicate image. Yet, even with all their bickering and squabbling, they remain each other’s support systems and hypemen, connected in a way where they can work with and around each other without even needing to talk. Their friendship is further solidified by their matching tattoos (aside from the group’s matching 7 tatts) which they successfully kept between themselves for over a year. (The only people who saw these right after they got them were Mark and Namjoon. The tannies found out by accident)
Jungmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Ever since Bangtan first debuted, Jungkook and Yoonmi’s friendship has been something so many people, whether ARMY or not, have admired and set as a standard or wish for in their own best friends. ARMYs specifically love how they’re not afraid to roughhouse or bite back at each other but still have each other’s backs no matter what. Also Jungkook biased ARMY all have Yoonmi as a bias wrecker or vice verse because of the amount of content these two have and the amount of time they spend together. Everyone already knows when either of them get married Yoonmi would be Jungkook’s best man or Jungkook would be her Maid of Honor.
Iconic Moment: Jungkook hosted one of his early morning Weverse lives from her kitchen, cooking himself something to eat. At around four AM, the sound of a door opening and closing made him look to the side where he froze and smiled brightly. You hear her go, “Oppa, again? When did you get in my house?” and he just, “Three hours ago. Ramen?” “I’ll just grab some water and go back to sleep. Don’t wake Yoonseol.” And everyone was surprised. It was common knowledge that they went to each other’s apartments often, but they just revealed Jungkook goes to her place just whenever he wants because either he knows the code or has his fingerprint in her lock.

[3:42am kst, 230922, wc: 430]
(content warning: yoongi’s enlistment)
The door creaking open slowly brought Yoongi out of his sleep. He was already set for his first day at civil service, but he was having trouble sleeping straight through the night thinking about the next two years of his life not working as seriously on his music as he was used to.
That’s why he brought himself to sit up immediately as soon as he heard his bedroom door open.
“Oppa,” Yoonmi poked her head in, “are you awake?“
“A little bit,” he gave her a smile and scooted over, patting the space beside him.
Yoonmi immediately followed his suggestion and got under the covers next to him, cuddling herself under his arm and into his side. It had been a while since she last made her way to him in the middle of the night.
With a somewhat satisfied smile, Yoongi gently started patting her shoulder with the hand that was around her, almost as if he was trying to lull her to sleep.
“What’s on your mind, Yoon-ah?”
“Do you have to go?”
“I do,” he chuckled at her, leaning sidewards to rest his cheek on her head, “like every other male Korean national.”
A few moments passed where neither of the two said anything.
Yoongi sat, relishing in the comforting presence of his little sister, someone he sometimes saw as his own child, and did his best to memorize how it felt to have her by his side just in case he got lonely in the future.
Yoonmi quietly took Yoongi’s free hand, playing with his fingers and wishing time and circumstance would let her keep the first actual father-figure she had with her even if she knew that was too far out of reach.
“You know,” Yoongi began, “Until I go to basic training, you can call me whenever you want. They may keep me busy, but my phone won’t be limited access like with the others.”
She nodded, tucking herself further into him. “I know, but it won’t be the same. I’m gonna miss coming to your place or your studio just whenever.”
“You’ll get used to it,” he reassured her, “and I’ll be back by your side in no time. You have to promise me to maintain my studio, though.”
A loose laugh slipped past her lips, “I will.”
“Good,” he closed his eyes, tucking her in with the blanket, “I love you. I’ll always be here.”
“I love you, too. I’ll try not to pester you too much.”
He laughed. “You could never. Go to sleep, we have an early day tomorrow.”

Would Yoonmi be on Suchwita? What kind of things would Yoonmi and Yoongi talk about in their episode? Would any of the other BTS members make a surprise appearance in the episode?
hi, hun! of course yoonmi has a suchwita episode! it was after her graduation and partial hiatus and during the release of her first solo comeback since 2020!
yoongi would bring up how he witnessed her graduating from elementary, high school, and college, and they'd talk about how she was initially shy to show the tannies the music on her comeback album!
jungkook would appear bc that's his platonic other half that he wants to mess with all the time!
i'm actually drafting this out, but i'm still working through a few details~

What would be the most touching things that Yoonmi has done for each of the members?
hmmmm let's go by age and just things off the top of my head
yoonmi was the one to cut and shave jin's hair (with the assistance of their stylist) despite her not wanting to accept what was happening and falling into an anxiety attack while she was doing so. yoonmi loves jin's long hair and would take every chance she could to decorate it or braid it. it meant so much to him that she did that because it gave him a sense of comfort and a reminder to keep himself healthy and strong so he can come back and grow his hair out for her to put her clips and bows in again
with yoongi it's just yoonmi acknowledging him as a dad figure. it meant that she put her trust in him like she did her adoptive father, and that she trusted him enough to know he wouldn't be like her biological sperm donor. he takes his role as her dad figure very seriously, and he'a absolutely honored that she goes with it and acts accordingly
with hobi it's maintaining their tradition. they used to go to the han river to do old school hiphop lessons or just to destress, then it changed to hanging out on the company rooftop when they were overwhelemed or stressed. she never let it die down, no matter how long it's been since the last time they did it. even now, she brought him to the rooftop once when he visited her on his leave
something that will forever stick to namjoon is how she once dropped everything just to go with him to a museum because his friend had cancelled on him. sure she always said she'd drop everything if they asked, but it didn't really hit him until it actually happened. she came, no complaints, dressed nicely, and 100% present in the situation physically, mentally, and emotionally. that's when he knew she would always have his back like he had hers
for jimin, it's something a lot more subtle. for a time when he unhealthily didn't really eat much for a diet, she would complain about being hungry and wanting to go out for streetfood. she'd always pick jimin to be the one to accompany her saying it's their "minmi time". he didn't even realize he was snacking with her while they laughed and talked and told stories about their day. he realized long after that period of time that, on those days, he'd sleep better, think better, and feel better
with taehyung, she was the one who got in touch with a trumpet and a violin teacher to help him with his want to learn them. no one else in the group knew how to, so she took it upon herself to look for someone who did know how to until she found the best instructor that she knew taehyung would get along with. it's something he's forever grateful for because she didn't have to, but she did
if you asked jungkook this question and it was on a day where he was up to answering seriously, he'd say continue being his friend. jungkook knows yoonmi could easily cut him off if he so much as did one thing to offend her seriously, but her patience with him, despite their multiple playfights and bickering, is so much compared to her usual level. never once did she let an argument get the best of them. she always made sure they talked it out, come to a compromise or solution, and continue being each other's other half. he can't explain it all too well, but her staying his friend is the most touching thing she's done for him in his point if view

Hi! I was wondering how would each of the BTS members describe Yoonmi’s impact on them and how she has grown over the years in an a documentary/interview?
hi! okay i love this question! im gonna touch up on this without too much detail for now though bc i think i might do something with this type of content~
jin would say yoonmi is probably the person who taught him that you get to choose the people you keep close in your life. he saw how she carefully picked her trusted friends, and those she decided to keep close stayed. even her biological birth givers were never heard from again because she chose to cut them off, and he admired her for the courage and strength she had to do that. he'd say she grew from an scared uncertain little girl to one so sure in herself and her friends that she's become very confident
yoongi realized he was capable of taking care of people as well as not judging people by their appearance at first because of yoonmi. she showed him that people are capable of whatever they want to do, like how a little girl like she was when he first met her was capable of writing and producing music and just needed a little more guidance due to age and inexperience. that's why he took her under his wing. she has been and always will be his kid, and he's just proud to say that she grew to be more sure of herself and confident while maintaining a genuinely humble mindset
yoonmi's impact on hobi is a lot more subtle, but he'd say she was like a power source for him, making him believe in his name even further. on rougher days when he wanted to just throw the towel in and go home, she would take him to the han river or to the company's rooftop and just hang out, talk, or freestyle until the spark lights up in him again, and it worked vice versa he watched her in pain for years until she bloomed and thrived. that's where he says she is now, her thriving era
with namjoon, he'd say yoonmi helped him get more in touch with the world outside himself. war of hormone was probably a big part of that, where she kinda explained to him why people may think it off and why she wrote her verse the way she did to balance it out. now he'd say he's proud to see their baby standing out when all she did when she was younger was try to blend into the background wherever she was
it's common knowledge that jimin and yoonmi helped each other with their images of themselves as well as their relationship with food (although different). he'd name her as a guardian angel, making sure he's okay. he'd not that she had a period of reflection about who she was, especially while she went on semi-hiatus to focus on her senior year, and that she was finally doing what she encouraged him to do: explore different sides of herself
taehyung would say yoonmi kinda grounded him for a time being. when things got too much or started to feel unreal, yoonmi brought him back to reality. she's like his reminder of what's going on around him. he thinks she grew more mature and comfortable with embracing different sides of maturity, something he likes to say they have in common
THE ride or die, each other's halves duo jungmi! jungkook and yoonmi grew up together, so they're already pretty similar, but he'd say that yoonmi pushed him to work harder and grow more as a person. they helped each other out a lot, and they became a source of motivation and strength for each other. he'd say that she did get more confident and mature, but he would say she's more or less the same yoonmi that he's always known similar to how he's still the same jungkook as always just a bit more mature, and that's that

It’s been weeks.
Everyone in Bangtan was tiptoeing around Yoonmi and Yoongi for weeks since the two would not speak to each other at all. It was painful, to say the least. No one was used to Yoonmi flat out ignoring Yoongi. She’s never done that, not even when she was ignoring the rest of the band for forgetting about her elementary graduation. It also made everyone upset to see Yoongi’s hesitant yet guilty looks at their makdungie, but it was his fault. He panicked a little then dealt with it in a bad way. Who were they to blame for Yoonmi’s current actions when Yoongi did it first anyway?
At first, it terrified Yoonmi. She had never gone this long without speaking to any of her members, much less Yoongi. She didn’t even talk to him about work. It bothered her, and it was eating her out from the inside, not being able to talk to him, but it couldn’t be helped. Honestly, the busy preparations for their comeback helped a lot. She barely had any time for herself, much less for worrying about when she could resolve this conflict.
Speaking of their comeback, she had to stop getting lost in her thoughts. The track had been sitting in front of her ever since she finished recording background vocals, now she needed to actually blend it into the song.
And just as she started, the sound of her studio’s lock beeping made her turn around.
“Hey, makdungie,” Hoseok grinned as he walked in. He placed a box of what looked like pastries on her shelf and handed her the flowers that were in his hand. “I bought us snacks, and I guess someone dropped off some flowers before I got back. Again. Looks like he’s doing the boyfriend thing, right.”
The note on the card made her smile. It was from Mark, indeed. He never failed to send her flowers every two weeks since they’ve gotten together. Though it was sweet, she probably needed to talk him out of spending so much money on her.
“He is.” Her voice sounded lighter, even to herself. Upon seeing Hoseok sit on her beanbag, she decided to join him. “I never thought I’d be in a relationship. Much less with someone I’ve known since we were little.”
Hoseok opened the box of pastries with a chuckle. “But you liked him for the longest time.”
“Yeah…”
“This must feel sudden to you, huh?” The question caught her off guard.
Sudden? That wasn’t the case. Well, at first it was, but it didn’t seem like it now that she had time to process everything.
It was gradual. On her end, she had liked him after a year of their friendship. She thought it would fade away like the crush she had on Jimin when she was way younger, but it didn’t. Next thing she knew, Mark was telling her that he liked her, too. But he didn’t force anything. He waited. If anything, he courted her. He didn’t force his feelings onto her, but he did take her out every now and then and did little things that made her happy. When he did ask her, she was ready. Nothing felt rushed. Not at all.
“No,” she smiled, “it wasn't sudden. Everything fell into place at a good time.”
“So, when will things fall into place with Yoongi hyung?”
Yoonmi froze. That was the first time one of the others even mentioned his name to her. She lifted her gaze to meet Hoseok’s. His eyes were serious, and she knew there was no escape from the conversation.
That didn’t mean she couldn’t try.
As fast as she could, she grabbed a piece of chocolate bread and made a break for it. It seemed like Hoseok anticipated it, though, because he was able to grab her by the sleeve of her cardigan before she could reach her studio door.
“You’re not going anywhere, Yoonmi,” he lightly tugged her back to the beanbag next to him. “Not on my watch. You need to talk about this with someone, and I’m taking the initiative here.”
“Do I have to?”
“You do.”
She huffed but sank down into her seat. “He crossed the line. I’m mad. There, happy?”
Her face was hiding behind one of her sleeves, hanging over her features while her other hand carefully kept her bread from touching the couch. Hoseok’s less than amused chuckle filled the room. She didn’t like it. It sounded close to disappointment, and the last thing she wanted to do was disappoint her family.
“You’re not that mad.” Hoseok’s words made her move her sleeve the slightest bit off her face. “You’re upset. And hurt. You were mad then, but I know you, Yoonmi. You’re hurt now, and you want to at least talk it out with Yoongi hyung, don’t you?”
She kept quiet as Hoseok placed a hand on her knee. It’s not like he was completely wrong. Her anger had dissipated a while back the more she thought things through, and she mostly felt upset to think that the person who understood her the most and was almost always on her side would just assume she’d do something she so obviously wouldn’t. But talking to him? She still wasn’t sure if she would be able to talk to him without breaking down…
“I just need more time,” she told the older. “I don’t know if he’s still frustrated with me, and I don’t know if I can talk to him without feeling… betrayed? Yeah. Not yet. I’m sorry.”
She glanced at him, his sympathetic smile making her feel a little more nervous about her topic. He shook his head lightly. “Hey, it’s alright. Nothing to apologize for. We all get it. Yoongi hyung was in the wrong this time around, and I’m certain he realizes that. He’s probably beating himself up over it.”
“I don’t know, he was pretty firm when he said that.” She took an upset bite out of her chocolate bread. It probably looked funny considering Hoseok chuckled as soon as she did so.
She really wanted to believe that Yoongi at least felt bad about what he said, but she felt she was wrong. Yoongi was stubborn and would stand by his opinion without getting swayed easily. If that’s what he really thought of her, that she’d up and leave just like that even after spending almost 8 years growing with each other, then who was she to try and convince him otherwise?
Hoseok’s hand pulled her from her thoughts. The older had gently removed her free hand from the ends of her hair where she was tugging a little harshly. She didn’t even notice the fact that she had been doing that.
Silence took over them while she watched Hoseok lay his hand out with his palm up for her hand to rest in. It was something Yoongi would always do for her in meetings or interviews so she wouldn’t fumble with anything else due to nerves. So he had noticed it, then. She shook her head, a sad smile gracing her face while she began to play with his fingers.
“I’m not Yoongi hyung, but this will do,” he shrugged. “But he regrets saying that. I’m completely sure. I won’t explain anything for him because he needs to talk things out with you himself, but I reassure you he had good intentions with… bad methods of expressing it.”
She just nodded and stood up. She didn’t want to talk about this anymore. A vase made its way into her hands. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom real quick. The flowers need water, you know?”
“Hurry back,” Hoseok waved her off, “we have snacks to finish. I promise no more serious talk when you get back.”
Yoonmi gave him a grateful smile and left the studio. What she didn’t see was Hoseok pulling out his phone.
“I talked to her, hyung,” he spoke to the person on the other end if the call. “You heard her. She needs a bit more time. But you’re on your own now with patching things up.”
“Thanks, Hobi.”
Hoseok sighed as he hung up on the elder Daegu boy. He hated being serious with Yoonmi, but he did owe Yoongi this favor.
Tumblr media
It was a few days before the recording of their showcase that Yoonmi felt like everyone disappeared.
She stood in the bathroom for a while just looking at her black hair. She already missed the purple that it used to be. Upon halfway through putting her hair in french braided pigtails, it occurred to her that there was something missing. There was a lack of knocking on the door from Jimin who would usually be the one after her. She couldn’t hear chattering from the living room, either. That was strange. The only thing that seemed normal was the sound of pans and utensils coming from the kitchen. Her phone told her that it was nine in the morning, so it wasn’t that early.
She shrugged it off and finished her braids. She had a long day in the practice room to worry about. The others were probably just ahead of her already seeing as they were close to their comeback and Jungkook had to physically take her to bed that morning the previous night. Namjoon must have let her sleep in again and left Seokjin to go with her to the company.
Or maybe not.
“Oppa, I’ve got my bag. Let’s— oh.” The sight of Yoongi standing by the living room made her freeze in her tracks.
“You don’t want to wear leggings instead of shorts?” He asked her while pointing to the end of her oversized sweater. “Spring is still pretty cold.”
All she did was blink at him. This visibly made Yoongi shifted his weight and pointed towards the table where they usually ate. “I made breakfast. Namjoon said we don’t have to be there until eleven. Eat with me?”
There was a debate going on inside her head. Half of her brain was yelling at her to run out the door and straight to the company building. The other half was crying to talk to Yoongi again and get things straight. Both choices had a sense of fear lining them. It was either risk prolonging the situation or face the truth that the person she looked up to thought badly of her.
But their eyes met, and the silent plea in his for her to sit down with him was too much for her to say no.
She set her bag on the couch and followed Yoongi to their table. It was mostly quiet while the older spooned some of the soup into her bowl. A familiar scent filled her senses and brought a small smile to her face. It was one of her favorite Filipino dishes, and it smelled exactly the way her grandmother made it. From the looks of it, Yoongi had gotten the recipe from her brother. Why would he do that, though?
“Eat up,” he instructed as he set her bowl in front of her. “I hope I got it right.”
It felt weird to just eat while the person she had been avoiding for weeks sat in front of her and watched her. No words were spoken at first. To her, it seemed like Yoongi was waiting for her to finish, which wouldn’t actually take that long considering it was comeback season, and she usually ate less than usual during comeback season.
She was right. As soon as she set her spoon down, a deep sigh caught her attention.
“Yoonmi, I’m sorry.” Yoongi met her eyes once before looking back down. “I was immature, and it led to me saying things I really shouldn’t have said. Things I didn’t think about, and things I definitely didn’t mean.”
She looked down, hands moving up to tug at her braids. “It felt really bad. Everything that’s happened to me with… those people, it was like you just made it seem like it was just another slight inconvenience. And you thought I’d do what they did… I felt bad. Betrayed. I don’t know, I’m being overdramatic, aren’t I?”
“No, you aren’t!” There was a sudden alert in Yoongi’s voice as he finally brought his eyes to settle on the girl in front of him. “I acted on my own nerves, and I’m sorry for that. I know how everything affected you, and I know you wouldn’t do that.”
“So why’d you say it?” The way Yoongi faltered a little when she looked up and met his eyes didn’t go unnoticed. “It’s not a small matter, so what made you throw it around like it was nothing?”
The Daegu-born man closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It seemed as if he were choking up a little on his words. This was the one thing she wanted to know most. Why? Why did he ignore her then disregard her feelings like that?
“Honestly, I was scared.” Each word came out of his mouth slowly. “It’s just that you got a boyfriend, and I realized you were growing up. I was so used to having you, well, you know, the way you’ve always been. Only looking towards us to take care of you, but then you got a boyfriend, someone else who you’d eventually end up turning to. I guess I realized you wouldn’t need us anymore. I know it’s not a valid reason, so I’m sorry. I did wrong.”
He was scared. That was almost funny to her. Min Yoongi? Scared? Of not being needed?
“That makes no sense.” She shook her head at him. “What, you think I won’t pester you guys with my problematic self anymore?”
“You’re not problematic.”
“Anyway,” she steered him away from that, “you practically signed a life-long contract the moment we began to dorm together. Sorry oppa, but you can’t escape me easily.”
Yoongi cracked a smile and looked at her. “You’re taking this pretty well.”
“Don’t get me wrong, oppa,” she began, “I’m still very much upset with you. I’m just tired of crying. I’ve been crying and holding grudges for practically half a year, now. I don’t want to do that anymore. That doesn’t mean you’re completely off the hook. You went too far.”
The older nodded at her. “I know. I completely understand. And I’m gonna try my best to make things up to you, I swear.”
“Well,” she brought out her phone, “you can start by bonding with Mark oppa. You’re both obviously important to me, and I want you to get along.”
Yoongi gave her a look but sighed and nodded. Yoonmi immediately sqeualed in excitement and began messaging her boyfriend. This brought a smile to Yoongi’s face.
There was no hug yet, but he was patching things up with her. Seeing her smile because of him again made anything and everything he needed to do worth it.

“Something’s up with you, Mimi.”
Yoonmi did her best to shove Jungkook off of her when he dropped himself on the couch.
“You know,” she began while managing to get all his weight from on top of her to next to her, “I go to this reading nook to chill. Just because you know I hang out here doesn’t mean you can randomly attack me in my reading time. Thank you, halmeoni!”
Yoonmi thanked the shop owner for the spare blanket she was handed. She had managed to get away from the preparation of their Japanese release for the first time since the announcement that they were staying together. Well, more like Namjoon practically shoved her out of the studio because she practically threw herself into work after finding out they’d all stick together for at least a little while longer. As usual, she didn’t tell anyone where she’d go off to relax, but Jungkook knew exactly where to find her.
“You seem a lot happier,” Jungkook noted while tilting the book she was reading so he could see her face. “Like, yeah, you were already pretty happy, but it’s like there’s something more now.”
“I’m trying to read here.” She lightly smacked the top of his head with her book. She laughed at him when he did the same to her but with his hand. “You know I’m excited because Daehwi and I are planning to hang out in Japan between schedules.”
True enough, Yoonmi did spend the previous night talking to her friend and plotting out their itinerary for their free days. They even spent a short while trying to convince Somi to come, but she was busy with a variety show that she was filming. Of course Jungkook knew of her plans. He was even going to tag along just so they had some sort of legal guardian with them. (Or so he says, but Yoonmi knew he just wanted to come and see the drum show, too.)
“No, there’s something else.”
Yoonmi had to lean back when Jungkook tried to examine her face up close. She furrowed her brows at him and pushed him away by the forehead. That was when Jungkook tilted his head and smirked.
“You and Minhyung are official now, aren’t you?”
Her eyes widened as she straightened. She looked around the small reading nook before turning back to her best friend. “How did you know?”
“I was right? Woah, I just guessed.”
She groaned and slumped into the couch. “Was it that obvious?”
“Well, something was different.”
The way her best friend’s face fell, even if it was subtle, felt a little off to her. She looked at him worriedly. “Do you not like that?”
A grin took over his face when he turned towards her and bumped their shoulders. “I knew it would happen eventually. Why didn’t you tell me, though?”
“We made a bet about who could keep it secret longer,” she laughed before playfully glaring at him, “and you just made me lose.”
“You can’t hide stuff from me,” Jungkook snorted. He threw an arm around her and pulled her into a noogie. The frustrated huff she let out made him laugh. “You’re gonna have a little bit of fun telling the hyungs, huh?”
“Don’t remind me,” she pouted while trying to stop him from messing her hair up any further. “Now that I told you, I can tell everyone else later during dinner.”
“I got your back, Mimi.”
She smiled at him. Having Jungkook help her break the news to the older members would lighten the load and probably make it less shocking. She just has to figure out how to somehow steer the conversation in the right direction.
Tumblr media
Dinner was as normal as it could get in the dorm.
She and Jungkook came home to find the older members had ordered Chinese food for dinner. Namjoon’s smile was the first thing that greeted her. His warm hand lightly patted the top of her head while she removed her coat.
“Did you have a nice time?”
“I did until this giant bunny decided to bury me under his body weight.” She jabbed Jungkook’s side with her thumb, making him yelp. He gave her a look and kicked his shoes off.
“Oh, you’re so on.”
Yoonmi squeaked and ran past Namjoon and into the dorm as Jungkook began to chase her. She yelled a “hi” as she weaved between her members while she tried to avoid the 97 liner chasing her. She got herself into Yoongi and Seokjin’s room where the two eldest members were sitting by Yoongi’s desk talking about something. She hid behind Seokjin with a laugh.
“Ggukoo oppa’s trying to kill me!”
“I’m just trying to bury you under my body weight, Mimi.”
Jungkook lunged forward, making Seokjin instinctively step away. Next thing Yoonmi knows, she’s picked up from the ground and thrown onto Yoongi’s bed. Her squeals turn into laughter when Jungkook starts tickling her.
All the noise drew the rest of the members into the room. Only the sounds of her and Jungkook’s laughter filled the dorm while the older members watched them fondly. Jimin pulled out his phone and took a video for a few seconds before posting it on twitter.
“Oppa, stop,” she gasped out in between giggles, “I can’t breathe.”
“Indirectly call me heavy again, Mimi, and not even your boyfriend will be able to help you.” Jungkook took one of Yoongi’s pillows and plopped it on Yoonmi’s stomach before resting his head on it.
The two maknaes let out a few little laughs while they tried to catch their breath. It took a few seconds before both of them realized the slip of Jungkook’s tongue. After an exchange of wide-eyed looks, the two scrambled to sit up. Yoonmi nervously looked at her members.
“Uh, surprise?” Her voice came out as a question while her shoulders moved up into a shrug.
“You have a boyfriend?” Hoseok asked, jaw dropped in shock.
“Yes?”
“You’re dating Haechan!” Taehyung cheered.
“What?” She didn’t know how Taehyung came to that conclusion.
“She’s dating Lee Marky,” Jungkook laughed while poking Yoonmi’s cheek.
Taehyung looked at her in question. “I thought Haechan confessed to you like a few months ago?”
“Well, we talked about it and,” she paused and looked at Taehyung. She never told anyone because she and Haechan didn’t see the need to really tell everyone else when nothing changed between them. “How do you know that?”
“No offense, princess,” Namjoon cut in, “but Taehyung and I could hear you two pretty clearly. The artist lounge isn’t exactly the most secret of places, especially since we use the bathroom there.”
She facepalmed. “Well, no. Oppa and I are still practically best friends. I’m dating Mark oppa.”
“Excuse me while I make a phone call,” Seokjin excused himself. “Let me borrow your phone for a bit, princess.”
She laughed and handed him her phone. The way Hoseok and Taehyung went to go watch Seokjin practically lecture her boyfriend was amusing.
“I’m gonna go make sure he doesn’t get carried away.” Namjoon hastily followed the three boys out the room.
“You’re growing up,” Jimin pinched her cheeks and kissed her forehead. “My aegi’s got a boyfriend! Let me go look for those brownies you baked the other day so we can celebrate. Come on, Kookie.”
Jungkook’s whines faded away as Jimin pulled him to the kitchen. Yoonmi turned to the member who had yet to say anything. The member whose opinion she arguably cared most about. She sucked her bottom lip between her teeth while she looked at his expressionless face. Why wasn’t he saying anything?
“Oppa?”
“So,” Yoongi trailed off, “you have a boyfriend, huh?”
“I do,” she nodded. “It’s been a little over a month since we made it official, but you know he’s been courting me in a way for the past year.”
The silence between them was thick. Yoonmi didn’t like it. It felt like the slightest hint of tension that used to be there due to the previous months suddenly grew once again and came to drown her.
“You don’t like it.” Her face dropped upon her realization. “You don’t like that I have a boyfriend.”
“No, I don’t.” The thoughtlessness in his tone made her feel worse.
This didn’t make sense. Yoongi had always been the first to tell her that taking risks is okay. He always told her that letting people in would be just fine because not everyone was like her biological parents. Yet, here he was just denying it all the moment she took his advice.
“Why?” She felt like she couldn’t say more. Any sentence longer than that felt like it would make her choke.
“Why?” He sounded annoyed when he echoed her question. “Yoonmi, you spent three months angry at us because you thought we were putting you behind us, and you’re asking me why I don’t like the fact that you got a boyfriend?”
“It’s different, and you know that.”
“It’s not!” Yoongi turned away from her. “You’ll be spending more and more time with your boyfriend, until you eventually forget about us. Your family. The people who raised you. You’re gonna leave us the same way you were scared of us leaving you. It’s hypocritical, don’t you think?”
That struck a nerve with her. She curled her fists into balls and took a deep breath, not wanting to shout and alert the other members. Instead, she stood from the bed and moved closer to Yoongi. The elder crossed his arms and stared Yoonmi down, not backing away. But Yoonmi did the same, which was new to him.
“If you even think that after all I’ve been through I’d leave for something like this,” she poked him hard in the chest, “leave the people I’ve called home for years just because I have a boyfriend, then I guess all those years of you “raising” me went to waste. If that’s what you think of me, then you don’t know me.”
She stepped back and turned away from him. She walked straight towards her and Jungkook’s room.
Jungkook and Jimin exchanged looks when they saw Yoonmi angrily exit the two eldest members’ room.
“I’ll go check on Yoongi hyung,” Jimin instructed the younger, “you go check on Yoonmi.”
Jungkook nodded and raced towards their room. He opened the door and found Yoonmi sitting on the edge of her bed, staring blankly into the wall while some tears rolled down her face. Jungkook pulled his computer chair over and sat in front of her, wiping her tears away while at it.
“Hey,” he cautiously prodded at her, “what’s wrong?”
“I guess Min Yoongi doesn’t give a fuck about me.”
Oh god. Yoonmi used Yoongi’s full name, and a swear. Despite her use of English, Jungkook got the context.
He gently pulled her into his lap and wrapped the silent girl in a hug. She wasn’t sobbing or anything. Not a single sound. Not like when she got mad at them previously. All Jungkook could hear from her was silence. Jungkook pursed his lips. This was bad.

Japan was a really good distraction for Yoonmi.
She was focused on their promotional activities and spent some one on one time with most of the other members. Throwing herself into practice felt like a normal thing once again as they were about to have their Japanese fanmeeting. Luckily, as she planned with Namjoon and their managers, she had a day off where she got to roam around Japan and even watch a drum performance with Jungkook and Daehwi since the latter just finished his KCon schedule.
“I can’t believe Linnie didn’t want to go with us,” she laughed while she sent some of the photos that she took over to Daehwi’s phone.
The LA-raised boy scoffed at that. “Please, that giant’s knocked out right now. I’m surprised Jihoon hyung didn’t come with us. He has the biggest crush on you.”
“Or on V hyung,” Jungkook snorted. “I’ve seen your interviews. That kid lights up at the mention of our dear Taehyungie hyung.”
The three idols all burst into a fit of laughter, their two managers chuckling along with them from the front of the car. They continued recounting their day in excitement while they drove back to Daehwi’s hotel. Much to their dismay, they arrived there just as they finished sending their photos among each other.
The 01s gave each other tight hugs, and Jungkook ruffled the younger boys hair as he stepped out of the car with his manager.
“We have to go out with Somi next time,” Daehwi waved, “and you’ve got to spill about your boy.”
“Some other time,” she laughed before waving as well while Jungkook closed the car door.
The two best friends decided to sit facing each other, legs crossed and hidden under a large blanket manager Sejin always kept in the car for her. Yoonmi was ultimately in a good mood, giggles escaping her lips even if she had nothing to laugh about.
It was this feeling that she missed. Just being carefree, with nothing nagging at the back of her mind. It’s been months since she felt this way. In all honesty, the only thing that got her scared was the drum festival they watched earlier that day.
“The drum festival performances were beautiful, weren’t they?” She asked once they were making their way to their suite. No matter what she did, she couldn’t get the thrill of the performance out of her. It was as if she could still feel the vibrations that the druns made throughout the air with the power they held.
“You were so scared,” Jungkook teased her.
“You know I don’t do well with loud noises!” Her laugh contradicted her fake annoyed face. “I didn’t expect the drums to be that loud!”
A glance at the kitchen area of the suite once they entered made her stop. Yoongi was there, and he was looking at them with an unreadable look. She thought he was going to ignore her again, but he spoke.
“Out again today, huh?”
She and Jungkook exchanged a look. Her best friend tried to get her to shrug it off and walk into their shared room, but Yoonmi stood her ground.
“I didn’t think you’d notice.” Her voice was monotonous. She could feel the look Jungkook was giving her, but she needed to stay. Especially since the first time Yoongi actually acknowledged her was accusatory.
The elder placed his cup on the counter and sighed. “I called it. You’re already distancing yourself.”
That got even Jungkook shocked. “Hyung, she was with me the whole day.”
“Not just today. The past two weeks.”
“If you actually didn’t pretend I was non-existent for once,” she narrowed her eyes at the elder, throat clamping up, “then maybe you would have noticed I was trying to catch up with each of the others one on one.”
“You wouldn’t have to do that if you just weren’t childish, anyway.” Yoongi’s nonchalant voice as he walked away felt like a slap to the face. She could feel her chest tightening and the tears forming.
Two weeks. It took two weeks for Yoongi to talk to her again, but there he was, speaking like he didn’t have a care in the world about her or what she felt. She felt her knees slacken a little and went down. Jungkook was quick to follow her.
“This isn’t fair.”
“Yoonmi—“
“No!” The young girl stopped Jungkook from speaking and clutched her chest, banging on it with her fist. “I can’t fucking breathe, Min Yoongi! While you’re there going about your day and ignoring me like nothing’s wrong, I feel like I’m being stabbed straight through the heart by the person who I thought would be on my side all the time.”
She was down on her knees, body curled into a ball as if physically in pain from everything she felt through her emotions. The feeling of Yoongi’s eyes on her made her feel vulnerable, but it was different. This time, she was uncomfortable. The same person she usually looked for when she felt vulnerable to seek comfort was the same person making her feel uncomfortably vulnerable right then and there. She could feel herself grip onto Jungkook’s arm that had settled around her waist, though she wasn’t sure if it was to keep her grounded or to stop her from getting too frustrated.
“You spent days acting like I was nothing to you,” she gasped out. While swallowing the lump in her throat, she sat up and looked him right in the eye. “You know what? I’m done.”
Yoongi looked at her in question. “Yoonmi...”
“I’m done! If you don’t want me in your life anymore, then I’ll ignore you, too.”
“Yoonmi.“
“Is my name all you can say?” She glared at him. She pushed herself up to stand. “I just poured my whole heart out to you!”
She was met with silence. The sight of Yoongi averting her gaze and clenching his fists made her scoff. She let Jungkook help her up and looked at the Daegu man once again.
“So I just embarrassed myself, then. You don’t care. You didn’t care. You probably never cared at all!”
“I do care!” Yoongi’s shout cut off her rant. He was staring her down, hands on her shoulders as if it would make her listen to him more clearly. “I don’t want you to leave, okay? I’m afraid of you leaving us behind like you don’t need us just as much as you’re afraid of us leaving!”
“Hyung!” Jungkook’s eyes went wide when he heard that.
Yoonmi was taken back by what Yoongi said. She choked a little. Was he undermining what she went through? Was he really just doing that?
“No,” she shook her head and backed away, “you don’t care. You’re lying.”
“I’m not lying!”
“You are!” She pushed his hands off of her and backed away even more. “You don’t care! If you cared, then you should know that I’m not the type of person to leave just because someone new came into my life! If you cared, then you wouldn’t take my childhood trauma lightly!”
Yoongi staggered back a little as if fully processing what she said. It was the first time she actually referred to it as trauma. After years, she finally said it out loud. But what did she mean taking it lightly?
“I never took it lightly!”
“I was left behind.” Her voice was shaky, and you couldn’t tell if she’d scream or cry next. “They were people I loved and believed would come back, but they left me and disowned me! You can’t fear being left behind as much as I do because it’s actually happened to me!”
Silence took over them while they let Yoonmi’s words settle in their heads. Jungkook pulled her closer to him and tried to calm her down. For the first time in years, Yoonmi had finally said out loud that she had been left behind, but at what cost? Her relationship with Yoongi? Her trust in him?
Yoongi’s eyes softened as he tried to approach her. “Hey, princess, I’m sorry.”
“No.” She escaped Jungkook’s grip and shoved past Yoongi, not even glancing back while she walked out the door and towards the suite that Jimin, Taehyung, Hoseok, and Seokjin occupied. “You went too far.”
Yoonmi left the room, vision slightly blurry, until she found herself rapidly knocking on the door of the other suite. She stood there for a minute before the door opened to Taehyung. The way the smile dropped off of his face when he saw the messy state she was in made her feel even worse. She froze a little before stepping back.
“I’m sorry,” she stuttered, “I can leave if I was interrupting something.”
“Not at all, aegi,” Taehyung quickly pulled her into his arms and towards his and Jimin’s room, shutting the door behind them. “You’re a mess. You’re coming in here right now and getting drowned in cuddles by me and Jimin.”
“Do I have to talk?”
“We can keep this a secret from the hyungs, no need to talk. You can be quiet or rant, it’s completely up to you.”
A small smile made its way onto her face as Taehyung nudged her over to Jimin’s bed. She wedged herself into the already asleep Jimin’s side and could only watch in amusement as Taehyung repeatedly poked the Busan boy to wake him. Once she found herself properly being cuddled in between the two 95 liners, she sighed.
At least there were some people she could trust to hear her out without assuming anything.
Back in her actual suite, Jungkook turned to Yoongi as soon as she shut the door behind her. “You did go too far, hyung.”
“Jungkook, you like her.” Yoongi gave Jungkook and exasperated look. “Shouldn’t you be on my side?”
“Just because I like her doesn’t mean I’m gonna turn away from or make assumptions about her!”
“Look,” Yoongi began, “I didn’t mean to invalidate her, but she is slipping away. She hasn’t been spending anytime in the dorm or in the hotel room. She barely eats with us. It’s happening.”
“If you paid close attention, you’d see that isn’t the case.” Jungkook crossed his arms and slightly glared at the elder. “She’s been spending all her time practicing because she’s been trying to distract herself from this whole situation. She’d spend a day with each member, trying to rebuild their relationship from before the whole issue. She’s even been trying to get through to you, but you’ve been pretending she doesn’t exist.”
Yoongi looked down at the words of the younger. He hadn’t noticed at all. It had seemed to him that Yoonmi would just stay out of their dorm all the time, so he assumed she had been off with her boyfriend. Well, that could still be the case. The only time he saw her going out with the members was when they arrived in Japan, miles away from her boyfriend.
“She hasn’t seen Mark since the day they became official.” Jungkook’s voice pulled the elder out of his thoughts. “They’ve kept it lowkey because that’s the type of people they are. Yeah, they message each other almost every other day, but both of them know they don’t need to be in each other’s presence all the time to know that they like each other.”
“And you’re okay with this?” Yoongi asked him.
Jungkook gave a humorless laugh. “You aren’t? Hyung, all Mimi and I have ever known each other as is best friends. I only started liking her last year. In case you haven’t noticed, those two have liked each other for at least half their friendship before mark even confessed. She likes him and she’s happy being with him. I’m happy staying by her side as her best friend because I know she won’t stop being my best friend even if she’s got a boyfriend. What about you, hyung? Can’t you just be happy for her?”
With that, Jungkook walked into his shared room with Yoonmi, leaving Yoongi to think on his words. With a sigh, Yoongi shook his head.
“I just don’t want her to grow up and realize she doesn’t need us.”

Hi writer-nim 🥰 I was wondering if you could do the reveal of the matching tattoos of JK & Miya to the rest? Like are they just super fond of ther maknaes bond? Are they lowkey jealous? 😅
sure, hun! 🥰 here you goooooo! they found it pretty cute, ngl... but they were all pretty sleepy when they found out, so it didn’t process fully. it was more shock but then awwww aksjdjf give it some time, jimin’s gonna start asking yoonmi if they should get one as well ✊🏻🤧
Tumblr media
For the longest time, everyone knew that Jungkook and Yoonmi sometimes had their own world. Being raised together and by the same people set the foundation for them to be pretty in sync in multiple terms.
Growing up, it was common to see these two with their own inside jokes, silently communicating, or even physically doing the same thing at the exact same time.
The older members liked to pride themselves in knowing that they at least have a hint of whatever their maknaes are talking about or thinking, but the past few weeks have consisted of them linking or comparing their pinkies of the same hand and just laughing and smiling to themselves. No one really understood why. It was strange, even for them.
They understood when they saw the two asleep on the couch.
It’s another common occurrence to see the two maknaes asleep together despite now having their own rooms. So, when Taehyung walked past their sleeping figured on the couch on his way to the kitchen for water, he didn’t even blink. That is, until he felt a chill. He got worried, knowing Yoonmi got cold easily. Right at that moment, though, Jimin walked into the living room with a spare blanket.
“Nice timing,” Taehyung told the older 95 liner, “because I was just about to grab them a blanket.”
Jimin laughed a little, “I still don’t understand how these two can fall asleep like this everywhere.”
Together, they draped the blanket over the two, careful not to wake them. Taehyung noticed Yoonmi lightly holding onto Jungkok’s hand of the arm she was using as a pillow. He chuckled and went to tuck it under the blanket, until he noticed something.
Two small square-ish marks, not identical but definitely meant to be matching. But they weren’t on the same person. They were on two right hand pinkies.
“Tae?” Jimin had sensed the younger’s pause and approached.
“I didn’t know our maknaes could get more adorable,” he turned to Jimin and held up two hands. “Look! I think they have matching tattoos!”
Upon closer inspection, Jimin saw the two similar ink marks. How had he never noticed them before? especially when he spent so long just observing Yoonmi after she got her first tattoos.
The two 95-liners quickly exchanged a look and ran back to the rooms, pulling all the older members out of their sleep and into Jimin and Hoseok’s shared room. With much protest, sleepy groans, and disgruntled grunts, the two had gathered the four older members in one spot.
“The one time all eight of us are asleep by four in the morning, and you two wake us all up?” Namjoon asked them.
“Yoonmi and Jungkook have tattoos,” Taehyung blurted out.
Yoongi snorted at that, “Obviously. Yoonmi got three small tattoos just last month.”
“Four,” Jimin cut in. “Taehyung meant to say Jungkook and Yoonmi have matching tattoos.”
A small silence fell over the six members while the four still sleepy elders took in the words. Hoseok laughed a little while rubbing his eyes.
“Wait, what?” He tilted his head. “But she has three, and none of them look like any of Jungkook’s tattoos.”
Taehyung opened his mouth to explain, but Seokjin was right out the door, Yoongi on his heels. The 94s and 95s exchanged glances before following out the door. They made it to the living room only to find the two boys kneeling and looking at the two maknaes’ hands.
“So that’s what they’ve been so giddy about,” Hoseok thought out loud.
“Of course they’d be excited about it,” Namjoon sat on the couch just beside the two’s feet. “They’ve had it set since 2018.”
“You knew?” Seokjin asked, voice slightly raised.
Yoonmi stirred a little at that, prompting all heads to turn to her. Yoongi rested a hand on her shoulder and quietly lulled her back to sleep. Everyone held their breaths until she sighed and visibly relaxed once again. Right. Yoonmi was a light sleeper. Perpetually sleepy, but a light sleeper.
“They talked to me about it because they didn’t know if it would cause some weird scandal about Yoonmi cheating on Mark.” Namjoon explained, hand subconsciously tapping Yoonmi’s leg as if to keep her asleep. “Since they did grow up together and have been best friends since, it really won’t.”
“Well, it’s adorable,” Hoseok noted, “we have two cute maknaes. Case solved, or whatever. Sorry, can we go back to sleep?”
“Yeah, we just wanted to tell you guys they have matching tattoos.” Jimin dusted his hands off.
Seokjin sighed before leaning past Yoongi and tucking some of her hair back. He lightly ruffled Jungkook’s hair then stood up, proceeding to go to his room.
“I think we should all get to sleep.”
“This couldn’t have waited until tomorrow?” Namjoon asked as he watched Jimin link arms with Hoseok and Taehyung speed walk after Seokjin.
“We deserve to see them being the babies that they are.”
“They’re both adults!”
Yoongi chuckled as the conversation faded off down the hall. He turned his head back to the two maknaes. It was so surreal to think that Jungkook and Yoonmi used to just doodle on each other during meetings back when they were trainees. The fifteen and eleven-year-olds back then somehow grew into the two young adults in front of him in such a short amount of time, yet they never changed.
He recognized the two geometric tattoos. He remembers exactly what they look like because he was so used to seeing them appear on the two’s arms at random times ever since they first decided they were best friends.
“Never change, you two,” he whispered before fixing the blanket on them and heading back to his room.

“Yoonmi, it’s been two weeks. Come sleep at the dorm again?”
Yoonmi didn’t even glance at Seokjin. She just continued to pack up her backpack and got ready to go back to her brother’s house. All she wanted to do was get out of there and avoid the now three boys on board with Namjoon’s idea and the two others who were considering it.
It had been a month since that meeting, and Namjoon had tried to call another meeting halfway through that. It didn’t turn out well. She hated the fact that they kept bringing the idea up. She couldn’t help feeling like she was one step closer to losing her boys.
She was brought out of her thoughts by a hand pulling on hers as she tried to walk out of the door. She turned around to see Seokjin looking at her almost desperately.
“Yoonmi, please,” he pleased.
Her lips pressed into a thin line as she wrenched her hand out of his. She turned around and went straight to the building’s parking lot. Seokjin tried to follow after her, but she was already speeding out if the parking lot on her motorcycle by the time he got there.
Tumblr media
Yoonmi used the sensation of the wind whipping past her body to calm herself. The sound of her engine revving was familiar. It was comforting. She drove straight to the Han river which was one of the two spots she’d go to when she wanted to think. After securing her motorcycle somewhere it wouldn’t be towed away, she settled as near as she could to the water, her helmet by her side.
“I’ve been going here way too often,” she murmured to herself while dipping her finger into the river and absentmindedly drawing on the pavement.
She sat there for a while, knees tucked under her chin while she thought about everything that was happening. She wondered if she should go to the SHINee boys for advice. They’d been together for nine years at that point. Maybe she could get them to help her convince the boys they can do their own thing and stay together. She let out a heavy sigh and leaned back, raising her chin to face the sky.
“Excuse me?”
Yoonmi turned around and saw a girl who seemed to be a few years older than her judging by the university jacket she wore. Yoonmi tensed a little, still on edge about the last sasaeng incident. The girl must have seen this.
“Oh, sorry to scare you,” she stepped back a little. “I know you’re still probably a little shaken up by the SOPA incident.”
The SOPA incident. That’s what people had started calling the sasaeng incident that happened during their school fair. She thought it would have stayed on the down low. But, of course, people found out about it. It involved members of BTS, Wanna One, and NCT. It was inevitable.
Yoonmi looked at the girl for a bit and decided that she didn’t seem like a sasaeng. She looked like she stopped by to destress from university life as well. Yoonmi removed her helmet and patted the spot next to her.
“No, it’s okay,” she smiled, “but how do you know me?”
“My best friend is an ARMY,” the girl responded, “and I’m an Nctzen, so I’ve seen you with Hannah and the Dreamies. I listen to some of your music as well. My name is Yeseul. I thought it would be fair for you to know my name since I know yours.”
Yoonmi smiled. She was a little bit more reassured at the fact that Yeseul wasn’t exactly an ARMY. There wasn’t much of an expectation for her, and that meant this person couldn’t possibly be some weird stalker.
“What brings you here? If you don’t mind telling me, though.”
“I come here a lot,” Yoonmi shrugged while looking out at the water. “I come here to think or to write. It’s a nice place to clear your mind. Well, while there aren’t any people. They’ll start coming in around an hour, though.”
“I do the same thing,” Yeseul gasped. “I just moved here a few months ago for college, and I usually go here after my last class right before it crowds up.”
“University has you stressed, huh?” Yoonmi scoffed, remembering the way her old parents were already deciding her college courses for her when she was nine.
“You have no idea,” Yeseul groaned while flicking some water in front of her. “I’m so stressed out especially since my parents expect me to get a scholarship. I don’t even like my course, but their expectations are so high! I don’t want to disappoint any— Oh, sorry. I got a little carried away.”
Yoonmi gave her a reassuring look. “No, it’s fine. If venting helps you destress, then go ahead.”
“That was pretty much the gist of it,” the older girl laughed a little. Yoonmi giggled a little bit. They sat in silence and stared at the water rushing past the rocks in the river.
“See that?” Yoonmi asked her while pointing down at the river. “One of the reasons I like going here is that. The way the river flows despite there being rocks in the way is like a reminder for me that I can push past obstacles and keep going.”
“I never thought of it that way.”
“Not many people do,” she said before reaching down to kick a small rock over. “You know, this is like a rock for you. But I believe you can get past it. One thing I would suggest, though, is doing what you know you want to do.”
Yeseul looked at the younger girl in curiosity. “Even if my parents don’t support me?”
“Even then,” Yoonmi gave a bitter laugh. “You can’t let other people keep you from what you love. I came here to pursue music, and now I have my dream job and amazing people surrounding me. I’m sure you’ll get the same.”
These amazing people who she never wanted to leave. She frowned a little bit thinking about how she was so close to losing seven of those people. The very people who raised her to be who she was.
Yoonmi could feel Yeseul staring at her. She rubbed her knee a little nervously, knowing she implied her parents being unsupportive. If Yeseul noticed, she didn’t say anything, which Yoonmi was thankful for.
“Thank you,” the older smiled at her. “It’s amazing that you have these amazing people by your side. Your bandmates are like a found family, huh? The kind that stays together forever. Oh, can I ask a favor? But it’s okay if you don’t do it.”
Yeseul didn’t see the way Yoonmi flinched.
“What is it?”
“My best friend, Yongsun, is insecure about her name. I was wondering if you could maybe give her a small video message? It would mean the world to her.”
“Oh but her name is so pretty,” Yoonmi gushed. “It’s like she’s a sun dragon! That’s amazing! No problem.”
Yoonmi accepted Yeseul’s phone and recorded a little message for Yongsun. Just as they were going over it, Yoonmi felt someone walking up to them. She turned and saw Jungkook quickly approaching, a hard look on his face as he saw the older girl with Yoonmi.
“Oppa, this is Yeseul unnie,” Yoonmi introduced while standing up alongside Yeseul. “She goes to university, and she come here to destress like I do sometimes. She’s an NCT fan, and her best friend is an ARMY.”
Jungkook’s look softened as the girl bowed at him in greeting. Jungkook bowed back and slung an arm around Yoonmi.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Jungkook told the Yeseul before turning to Yoonmi. “Haeeun texted. She’s asking if you wanna see her new place.”
“Sounds good,” Yoonmi nodded. “Unnie, is there anything you want me to pass to her?”
“If it isn’t a problem,” Yeseul’s eyes widened as she looked in her bag. She pulled out a notebook. “I have a few letters in there for them. It’s like a scrapbook.”
“You do this in class, don’t you?” Yoonmi laughed as the girl’s cheeks went a little red. “No problem, unnie. I’ll make sure this gets to them. Also, would you mind keeping the fact that I go here often a secret?”
“I’ve got you,” Yeseul smiled. “Thank you for today.”
“Thank you, too,” Yoonmi smiled. “Who knows? Maybe we’ll meet here again.”
The two waved to each other before Yoonmi turned to lead Jungkook to her motorcycle. Jungkook, as crazy as he looked, had brought his helmet with him when he took the cab to the Han river.
“Could you not make me worry like that?” he asked her while they slipped on their helmets and got on the motorcycle.
“Sorry, I know I shouldn’t have run off.”
“No, it’s not that, I know where you go whenever you run off. “Jungkook waved his hand as she started the engine. He moved his grip to her waist. “It’s down the street of their old dorm, by the way. It’s the fact that you were talking to a complete stranger! What if it was a sasaeng?”
“I think my instincts have improved,” she shrugged before zipping off.
Tumblr media
Yoonmi slipped into her brother’s house with Jungkook on her heels. She was laughing while He recalled how Mark really decided to try and eat the pizza they had all made together the moment it got out of the oven. Then her face fell on the couch of the living room.
What was Yoongi doing there?
They made eye contact, Yoongi’s eyes holding some kind of hope. That hope died the moment she walked straight past him and into her room. She didn’t even notice Yoonsung, who was carrying Yoonseol, standing by the kitchen.
Yoonseol looked up at her dad. “Papa, unnie mad?”
Yoonsung watched as Yoongi got up and sped his way to her room. He shook his head and exchanged a look with Jungkook.
“Unnie’s a little mad at Uncle Yoongi,” the elder told his daughter.
“We’ll give them some time, won’t we?” Jungkook smiled while taking the two-year-old from her dad. “How about oppa plays with you until Uncle Yoongi leaves?”
“Play!”
“Jungkook, her bedtime!” Yoonsung’s words were ignored as Jungkook carried a giggling Yoonseol to her room.
Meanwhile, Yoongi made it to her door just as she shut it. He rested his forehead against it in frustration. He was just a few seconds too late.
“Yoonmi-ah,” he knocked on the door, “open up, please?”
“Go away!”
The words felt like an arrow through Yoongi’s chest. She always loved having him around her, but that wasn’t the case this time. It hasn’t been like that for over a month. He missed having Yoonmi around him outside of promotions and official schedules. He sighed. Now, it just felt like she hated him.
“Please,” he called through the door. “It’s been a month. I just want things to go back to normal.”
The silence that followed felt like days to Yoongi, but he heard the door unlock slowly.
“Normal?” Yoonmi’s voice came before he saw her. The door opened to reveal her frowning. “You want things to be normal? Well, you should have thought about that before even bringing up disbanding.”
“Think about it, Yoonmi,” he explained. “It’s better to end it now than fade out into nothingness. We’ll be remembered as a group who did things no other kpop group has done before rather than the group who faded into nothing.”
He watched Yoonmi as her breath hitched. He noticed the way she straightened out and looked him in the eye, something she never really does with anyone. She ran a hand through her hair while her eyes started tearing up.
“You said it was all eight of us to the end,” she shook her head, voice shaky. “You all promised me no one was gonna leave. You all said we’d stick together no matter what, and, right now, it seems like only three of us are keeping our word. You know, I told someone how I found a family here.”
Yoonmi scoffed and looked away from Yoongi. Yoongi didn’t like that. He didn’t like the way she thought they would leave her. He didn’t like that she laughed at the idea of them as her family as if they hurt her.
“She told me it must be nice to have a found family that would stay forever. I guess that’s not the case, huh?”
“Yoonmi-ah,” Yoongi’s eyes softened.
“Don’t talk to me,” she shook her head at him. “You can’t. Not until you understand that this is nonsense.”
The door slammed in his face, and it was locked. Yoongi staggered backwards as if he was punched. His head drooped low as he left Yoonsung’s house.
Tumblr media
Jungkook snuck out of Yoonseol’s room, key to Yoonmi’s in hand. He unlocked her room door and looked around.
“Mimi,” he stepped in, closing the door behind him. “I know you’re not okay. Come on.”
He couldn’t see her, but he could hear the sound of her sniffling. It broke his heart, but it helped him find her. He opened her closet door and saw her sitting at the bottom, head tucked into her knees, body shaking from tears.
“Oh no,” he knelt down in front of her. She looked up at him, tears running down her face. Jungkook rubbed them away with his sleeves.
“l fought Yoongi oppa,” she whispered before launching herself into Jungkook’s arms. “He hates me.”
“No, no one can hate you,” Jungkook kissed the side of her head, “especially not Yoongi hyung.”
Jungkook pulled her closer to him, trying to make sure she knew he was not going anywhere. He hated that she thought anyone could hate her. He hated that she was hurting because of the people she trusts with her life. He hated that she has been falling apart slowly for a month and that he could barely do anything about it. He hated the timing of everything.
He hated how it affected him more than it should.

Yoonmi looking around for Yoongi to hold her hand? Like one of the things she picked up is Yoongi’s need/want to have his hands held so whenever she wants to hold hands with someone she seeks out Yoongi?
yes, okay! yoonmi totally does this! like she never used to, but she picked it up from yoongi and he’s literally so smug about it bc she picked up on some of his habits before she picked up on any other members’ habits (take that jin!)
anyway, this’ll be a little different, so i hope you enjoy it!
Tumblr media
The Three Times Yoongi Looked for Yoonmi’s Hand, and the First Time She Looked for His
1
It all started back in early 2011. Yoongi wasn’t particularly sure of Yoonmi at first, but he saw her talent and potential and eventually grew fond of her. He noticed Hoseok walked with her to and from school everyday since she moved in with them, but he was sick that day.
Yoongi decided to fill in.
He walked alongside Yoonmi that morning in silence, and now stood outside her school gate, waiting for her to come out. It’s not like he was too uncomfortable with her to not make conversation, but he liked that they could feel like they bonded even if they didn’t talk. He knew she felt that, too.
He smiled when he saw the familiar teal backpack through the corner of his eye. He looked up, fully expecting to see the little girl with the bright smile he was so used to seeing, but he saw her frowning while walking with a girl who tried to pull her away from what looked like a group of bullies. Upon hearing the snide comments about her being a half-breed, he frowned and walked right up to her.
“Time to go, kiddo,” Yoongi smiled at her and took her hand, making sure to glare at the girls who gawked at him in shock before pulling her away.
Yoonmi stumbled after Yoongi, looking at his hand basically drowning hers while getting her friend to follow her. Yoongi just started warming up to her, so she wasn’t used to skinship from him.
“Oppa, you’re holding my hand,” she said aloud in slight shock.
“I guess so,” Yoongi looked down at her small hand in his, a fond smile on his face. It was almost as if he had a little sister of his own. “I didn’t notice. Who’s your friend?”
“Oh, this is Somi. Somi, this is Yoongi oppa, one of the oppas I train with.”
“Thank you for taking care of Yoonmi, Somi,” Yoongi told the other girl while raising their clasped hands.
Yoonmi smiled. She liked that Yoongi was getting comfortable with her.
2
Later into 2011, Bang PD had told them they were getting another member on the team. He was younger than the rest of the boys, but still older than Yoonmi.
The boys and Yoonmi stood in the practice room while waiting for this new arrival. Yoongi wasn’t sure he was liking this situation. He heard that the new trainee was a vocalist, which means their group’s concept would stray further away from Epik High and be one step closer to an idol group.
Just then, the door opened, and Namjoon walked in with a young boy behind him. Yoongi instinctively took Yoonmi’s hand and pulled her the slightest bit behind him when he saw the new boy’s eyes land on her.
“There’s a girl here?” he asked while Namjoon was in the middle of introducing everyone.
“Yes,” Namjoon confirmed. “That’s Yoonmi. She raps, produces, and she’s making her way to being one of the best dancers here. And that last guy is Yoongi hyung. He’s the eldest, and he’s one of our best rappers. Guys, this is Jungkook. He’s from Busan, so he has a bit of an accent.”
Yoonmi’s grip on Yoongi’s hand tightened when Jungkook approached her, eyes wide in fascination.
“You can rap?” he asked the younger girl. Yoongi narrowed his eyes at the newcomer. He was a vocal, so who was he to be judgmental about her rapping?
“I do rap,” she mumbled back.
The younger boy’s eyes lit up as he heard her speak.
“Your satoori!” he grinned. “You’re from Busan, too!”
Yoongi felt Yoonmi’s hand relax a little more in his. Yoongi was still unsure of the newcomer, but if it seemed like he made Yoonmi feel comfortable with something that made her insecure like her satoori, then he guessed the younger was okay.
3
Yoongi slid down in his chair in exhaustion as he stared at the unfinished track in front of him. He knew the company wanted them to release a predebut song soon, but he couldn’t get around to finishing it completely.
He looked at the younger girl who sat on the couch behind him doing her homework then reached his hand out. Yoonmi looked up from her textbook before setting it down and walking over to him to take his hand.
“Are you stressed, oppa?” she asked as Yoongi pulled her to sit on his leg.
“Just a little bit,” he smiled.
She looked up at him in curiosity. “Oppa, why do you like holding hands so much?”
Yoongi looked at her while thinking about it. He had a habit of holding onto his members’ hands when he had the chance, and he wasn’t exactly sure why he did it.
“I don’t know, princess,” Yoongi shrugged. “I guess it just became a habit.”
Yoonmi smiled at him. “I like this habit.”
+1
Yoongi was so used to always being the one to look for her hand that he almost physically melted when she looked for his.
It’s no secret that Yoonmi is a big fan of skinship. She loves hugging her friends and giving them cheek kisses. She likes being tucked under arms or maybe even carried, but she was never one for holding hands.
That is until one day in the dorm, the eight members chosen for BTS’s final lineup were watching a movie together. Yoongi was invested in the movie until he felt it. A small hand made its way into his. He looked down to see Yoonmi had ended up clutching his hand with both of hers even as her attention was fully on the screen in front of them.
He smiled when he realized that she did it without even noticing. This was new, and for sure there was only one way she could have ended up doing this. She got it from him.
With a fond smile on his face, he tightened his grip just the slightest bit and went back to watch the movie. He was satisfied to know that she was becoming more and more like him as the years passed, just like an actual little sister.

I think I’ve had enough angst to last me a while so could i request for a yoonmi fluff prompt 14? She discovers her members (or just one of them?) having her or them together as a lock/homescreen? 👉👈
aksjdh the fact that the next yoonmi thing i put up after this is gonna be angst buuuut lmao can’t be helped 🤷🏻‍♀️ enjoy your fluff hun 🥰
prompt: “Am I your lockscreen?” “You weren’t supposed to see that.”
Tumblr media
Yoonmi found herself in Yoongi’s studio once again. She had finished what she was working on and wasn’t in the mood to start something else, so she decided to spend some time in Yoongi’s studio.
She hugged her multi-colored bear closer to her, amusedly comparing it to the general aesthetic of Yoongi’s studio. It clearly stood out against the darker colors of his studio. Now that she thought about it, aside from the wooden tones and metal, the only colors that seemed to fill Yoongi’s studio were black, white, and blue.
That’s why the flashes of pink and purple when his phone screen lit up caught her eye.
She watched Yoongi briefly glance at his phone screen before turning it off and going back to his work.
“Oppa,” she called out to him.
Yoongi immediately removed his headphones and turned all his attention to her. “Yes, princess?”
“What’s all the pink and purple on your phone?”
“It’s nothing,” Yoongi smiled at her. “It’s just the colors of the app notifications. They do tend to stand out more against a minimalistic background.”
Yoonmi tilted her head in slight confusion but nodded. After making sure that was all Yoonmi needed, Yoongi turned back to face his software and slipped his headphones on again.
Yoonmi went back to taking in Yoongi’s studio. At this point, she could probably draw it almost perfectly by memory. Well, if she were any good with drawing, but that’s why she had Jungkook.
Still, her curiosity was eating her mind up. She knew those weren’t app icons. They were too far to the right side of the screen to be app icons. She glanced over at Yoongi and watched as his phone lit up again. This time, he lifted his phone.
It was a photo of her backstage while preparing for one of her solo stages.
She smiled. “Am I your lockscreen?”
Yoongi’s head snapped towards her. “You weren’t supposed to see that.”
“So much for a minimalist background, huh?” She giggled while giving Yoongi a hug. Yoongi groaned and pulled her into his lap.
“To be fair, princess,” he squished her stomach, “you’re a minimalist. Therefore, this is a minimalist background. Well, a minimalist in aspects not involving decorating your personal spaces and your clothes.”
She laughed and took his phone. She looked at the photo and smiled. It felt nice to know that someone aside from her boyfriend cared enough to make her their wallpaper.
“Well this isn’t fair,” she pouted. “Shouldn’t it have you in it, too?”
She used Yoongi’s finger to unlock the phone before choosing a selca they took days before to set as his wallpaper.
“There!”
Yoongi could only smile at her victorious tone of voice.

notes: just a small drabble of yoonmi and yoongi and a little bit of a glimpse at what yoongi thinks of yoonmi 🥰 i’ll be posting more of these little drabbles if you guys don’t mind 👉🏻👈🏻
setting: bangtan dorms, november 23, 2020
Tumblr media
Yoongi was messing around with the puppys, Holly on his stomach and Nala snuggled beside his head, when he heard the knocking on his door. He smiled, knowing who it was from the gentle way she knocked. Sure enough, Yoonmi’s head poked through the door with a little smile on her face.
“Oppa, I brought food,” she told him. “Let me just bring the puppies out first.”
She set the dishes down on Yoongi’s desk then proceeded to take the dogs from his bed and carry them out to Jungkook.
Yoongi watched with a fond smile. He could take care of himself well enough. He was 28 for god’s sake, a fully grown man, but Yoonmi still insisted on taking care of him. A way to try and repay you for raising me, he remembered she had said. Not that she had to, he loved watching her grow up into the woman she is today.
He was brought out of his thoughts by her small figure entering the room and quickly shutting the door behind her, trying not to slam it. She smiled at him then skipped up to his bed.
“You did well on the AMAs today,” she joked while settling next to him with the dishes in hand.
“It’s like I never got my surgery,” he played along while sitting up. Yoonmi gently helped him up against the bed frame.
“You know I’m capable of sitting up myself, right?”
“You’re struggling with one arm.”
Yoongi shook his head with a chuckle. He silently watched her while she animatedly talked about how the fans reacted to their album while she helped feed him. Being the assistant music director with Namjoon, she was more nervous about how the public world receive it. Her worry about that is probably one of the few reasons he let’s her get away with feeding him. (If it were any other member, he’d just take the spoon and eat on his own) Thankfully, the album was received well and getting loads of positive responses.
Yoongi payed attention as she excitedly went on and on about the video edits she saw all over twitter. He loved seeing her this excited. A little part of him was a little disappointed that the world doesn’t see this side of her as much, but he was for the most part glad that they got to keep this excitable kiddy side of her to themselves.
“Oppa, I’m not making you uncomfortable, am I?” she asked, genuine caution in her eyes as if she were ready to step back the moment he said yes.
“Not at all, Princess,” Yoongi reassured her. “I love hearing your stories.”
The smile that grew on her face after that reminded Yoongi of the happiness he worked so hard to help her attain. One thought echoed in his mind.
It was a battle worth fighting.

Heyy if you aren’t too sick of writing about the yoonmi ssaesang incident at sopa, it would be rlly interesting to see yoongi talking to yoonmi about seeing a therapist and maybe even taking her to her first appointment? Thank you, hopefully this is ok :)
hi hun 🥰 no worries, i’m not sick of it! i’m actually planning on combining everything into one post just because aksjdhf anyway, i gotchu hun of course it’s okay!
Tumblr media
Yoongi sat in the living room at six in the morning. He had woken up way too early, and he decided going back to sleep was almost pointless. The living room couch was a good change of scenery considering he’d been sitting in bed thinking for hours.
“Oppa?”
Yoongi’s head snapped around at the sound of Yoonmi’s small voice. She had shyly exited her and jungkook’s room and made her way towards him. He waited for her to approach him first just in case, and she did. She sat right next to him, tucking herself under his arm and resting her head on his shoulder.
“Why are you up?” he asked her.
“Nightmare,” she mumbled. “I’ve been up for hours, but I didn’t want to wake anyone. I heard noises from the kitchen just now, so I checked.”
Yoongi sighed and placed his coffee mug on the table in front of them. He pulled her legs over his and lightly ruffled her hair.
“You’ll be fine, princess,” he reassured her. “Namjoon and Taeyong have been discussing. This whole thing might have been too much for you and Haechan. We think it would be best if you two take a few sessions with a therapist.”
He could feel Yoonmi tense up. He wrapped her in a hug, lightly rubbing her back. The fact that she didn’t really like opening up like that to strangers isn’t a secret. She had trouble making close friends in recent years because opening up became a lot harder for her.
“You’ll be right there with Haechan, okay?” he told her. “You won’t be alone. We can ask them if one of us can sit in as well, if you like.”
Yoonmi thought about it for a while before nodding.
Two days later, she found herself in the backseat of Sejin’s car, Yoongi in the driver’s seat. They were waiting outside the NCT dorms.
Yoonmi stared out the window, still wondering if she was going to be able to go through with this whole therapy thing. She didn’t even notice she was tugging on her hair until Yoongi reached back and pulled her hand away.
“You’ll be fine, princess,” he told her once again. “They agreed that either Taeyong or I can sit in with you guys, and you’ll have Haechan right there for sure. Look, here they come now.”
Yoonmi scooted over to the other side so Haechan could get in the car next to her. taeyong made his way to the passenger’s seat, a little confused at the sight of Yoongi there instead of Namjoon.
“Namjoon can’t drive,” Yoongi clarified as he started moving.
“Hey,” Haechan poked Yoonmi’s arm, “miss me?”
She smiled at his somewhat sullen attempt at a joke as the two elders in the front began their own conversation. “I think you missed me more.”
“You wish,” he chuckled in response. “Are you ready?”
She sighed. Her members have been preparing her for this and encouraging her. They’ve been telling her that opening up to the therapist would be okay, and nothing would be taken against her. She looked at the NCT boy next to her and smiled.
“I think so. You might have to hold my hand if Yoongi oppa doesn’t sit in with us, though.”
“I can do that.”

Hello can I please request a fluff number 4 which yoongi written a song specially dedicated to yoonmi on her birthday where a line in the song goes "have you always been this beautiful?" Uwuwuwwu 🥺
of course hun! 🥰 we’ve got some 2yoon fluff coming right up, this is set on yoonmi’s birthday just ten days ago ✊🏻 hopefully you like it!
prompt: “Have you always been this beautiful?”
Tumblr media
Yoonmi said she was going to sleep, but the flash drive Yoongi sent her with his gift was taking up her mind. His note had said to not let anyone else hear it, so she decided to pull out her laptop and earphones while her niece slept peacefully next to her.
She quickly opened up the folder and saw an mp3 file. Quietly anticipating a voice message, she clicked on it and pressed play.
She was surprised when a familiar piano melody started playing. It was something they were working on together before his surgery. Hearing Yoongi softly singing surprised her even more.
She smiled at the words he was saying. She knew they were aiming for a nostalgic and reminiscent mood, but she never expected him to write a soft melody rap about her growing up before his eyes.
One line in particular cut off. It went completely silent, and he half-mumbled the question with such fondness that she felt like he was right there about to give her a hug. The piano picked back up after that for the outro, but she had focused on the last thing he said.
“Have you always been this beautiful?”
The moment the last chord played, she pulled out her phone to video call him. She grinned when he picked up the phone, light still on from reading in bed.
“You’ve never called me beautiful before,” she said the moment she saw him.
“I’m guessing you’ve listened to it then,” Yoongi chuckled. “It’s about time. Our cute and pretty makdungie has grown into a beautiful woman, and I think I’m ready to accept that.”
She smiled at that. Everyone knew, despite Seokjin’s dramatics about her growing up, Yoongi was the one who was the least ready for it. He practically raised her from the start, so he always had the image of the nervous 10-year-old in his head as she grew up.
“I’m still you’re makdungie, though,” she laughed. “No need to get too emotional.”
“You know how it is, princess,” he told her. “I’m proud of you. You grew up so well. I made a few mistakes, but you never held them against me. Thank you.”
“I know you, oppa. You have a purpose for everything. Thank you for raising me well.”
“Thank you for letting me be a big part of your life,” he smiled. “You know, when we were discussing with your brother a few years back about who would adopt you if things go bad, I was ready to go back to my parents even if we weren’t okay yet.”
Yoonmi’s eyes softened. She never knew that. She just assumed everyone somehow got together to convince Chan’s (now her) parents to adopt her.
“I cared about you back then,” Yoongi began, “I cared about you now, and I’m always going to care for you, okay? Even now that you’re growing up. Especially now.”
“Thank you,” she told him.
There was a shift next to her. Yoonseol woke up, rubbing at her eyes. The five-year-old perked up when she saw who was on Yoonmi’s phone screen.
“Uncle Yoongi!” she called out. “I didn’t see you here! Where are you?”
“Hi, Seollie,” Yoongi let out a laugh. “I’m at home with my family because of my shoulder, remember?”
Yoonmi handed her phone over to the her niece who began babbling to Yoongi about the supposed “villain” he fought off that injured his shoulder. She saved Yoongi’s file into her laptop under a folder with a password. This was not just a song, it was a letter.
This letter would stay between them.

of course you may! and yoonmin sewing videos? wow, something i need to see akskdjd i’ve only seen the one with jimin and hobi on that show tbh aaaanyway, here’s yoonmi being a clumsy mess and yoongi helping her out!
Tumblr media
Yoongi knocked on the bathroom door.
“Yoonmi? You’ve been in there for nearly thirty minutes now. Is anything wrong?”
“Nothing! Don’t worry about me, oppa, I— Ack!”
Yoongi’s eyebrows furrowed when he heard her yelp in pain. Was she hurt? Did she need to go to the hospital? Would he need to break down the bathroom door to get to her?
Before he could make any rash decisions, the door opened to reveal a pouting Yoonmi cradling her hand. Yoongi tilted his head in curiosity and looked over her head. There was one of her skirts on the side of the sick and the sewing kit open. That’s when his eyes went to her bleeding finger. Well… fingers.
“Sewing isn’t as easy as I thought,” she pouted before hiding her face in Yoong’s shirt. He sighed and led her to sit on top of the covered toilet seat. He took the first aid kit and knelt in front of her.
“I thought you learned this in your school in the Philippines,” he sighed while treating all the small pricks in her fingers. “Which color?”
“Blue bandaids, please,” she responded before huffing, “and that was supposed to be for fourth grade there. I left before I could even reach third, remember.”
He wrapped up the tips of four of her fingers in bandaids and closed the first aid kit. “It’s a basic life skill, though. It’ll help you through situations like this. Without getting hurt.”
He gave her a pointed look which she looked down at, guiltily. Yoongi just shook his head and patted her hair. He picked up her skirt and the needle and thread she had taken out. He threaded the needle and began sewing the button back in place. From the corner of his eye, he could see her staring at his hands in curiosity. Soon enough, he finished, and the button was firmly back where it should be.
“Oppa,” Yoonmi gasped in realization, “maybe you can teach me how to sew!”
He scoffed at that, “Princess, I’m not as good as you think.”
“But you fixed my button in like three minutes without pricking yourself!”
Her pout was tugging at Yoongi’s mind until he eventually gave in. He nodded. Yoonmi clapped her hands in excitement and reached for the sewing kit. Worried, he stopped her and closed the kit.
“Not today, though. You’ve already got four little fingers covered in bandaids.”
“Right…”
