“junkyu that was so funny!” you slapped junkyu’s shoulder for the nth time tonight. junkyu laughs even harder causing him to fall but he caught your hand so the both of you fell down, laughing even harder than before.
“man, that was amazing” you wiped a tear away from your eyes. you hear the door open, you and junkyu looked up to see your boyfriend standing there with a blank expression.
“am i interrupting something?” he says stoically, rolling his eyes. you look at junkyu apologetically, junkyu mouths ‘it’s okay’ and stands up, brushing his clothes.
“sorry bin, we were just playing around” junkyu apologizes. yoonbin nods and junkyu leaves the room, leaving you and yoonbin alone.
yoonbin didn’t say anything else but grabbed his bag from the corner. you took this as saying that you two would be going home now. you quietly stood behind him as you two walked to his car parked outside the YG building. he unlocks the door and waits for you to get in. ‘so he’s not mad..?’ you thought to yourself. you see him go around back and opened the drivers seat, sliding in and swiftly turning the engine on. next thing you know, you were on the road again.
it was a quiet ride and you two are currently stuck in traffic. you took a glance at him, to see him leaning against the window with a hand on the steering wheel. you see him poking his cheek with his tongue. his habit he does when he’s either annoyed or angry.
“binnie” you called. “hm?” he hums, “are you mad at me?” you say quietly, playing with his jacket you’re wearing.
“i’m not” he says blandly. you pout, “are you su–“
“look y/n i’m just tired from practice okay?!” he snaps, unintentionally hitting the steering wheel. you flinch at his actions. he notices and sighs,
“i’m sorry okay? i’m... just not in the mood right now” he says, looking at the highway ahead of you two.
arriving at your shared apartment, there was heavy tension in the air and it seemed like every move you make angers yoonbin even more. you walked into your shared room with yoonbin, grabbing your pajamas to head over to the bathroom.
“you know, just because i said you could be friends with my friends doesn’t mean you have to let them flirt with you” yoonbin fakes a laugh. you stopped in your tracks and whipped your head towards yoonbin who was in the kitchen drinking a glass of water.
“he wasn’t even flirting with me. we were just talking about his trainee days with yedam and the others” you defended, furrowing your eyebrows together. yoonbin scoffs,
“so now you’re defending him too? marvelous. congratulations, you found a new boyfriend” he claps his hands obnoxiously. you slowly walked towards him as your anger bubbles inside you.
“what the fuck is up with you” you spat. “me? everything’s fine! what about you? going behind my back like that with my close friend!” he points a finger at you. at this point you lost it,
“i have done nothing but be a faithful girlfriend to you. i almost sacrificed everything to be with you and suddenly, i hang out with your friends since you’re so ‘busy’ all the time and suddenly everything is my fault!” you angrily wiped the tears that was in your eyes.
yoonbin’s chest tightened at the sight of you crying. he hated to see you cry especially when he’s the reason behind it. he felt a sudden realization that he just overreacted over the whole thing. you were right, he was in fact busy nowadays writing raps or rearranging songs or helping others.
“y/n–“ yoonbin moves around the counter but you shook your head and ran to your bedroom locking it. ‘fuck’ yoonbin mutters and follows you to the bedroom. he tries to open the door but you locked it. “y/n open up!!” he bangs on the door but you ignored him.
you grabbed a spare backpack from the top shelf of your cabinet and shoved some of your clothes to sleep in. you would rather stay at your parents place for awhile rather than living with yoonbin.
“y/n, come on! i’m sorry!” yoonbin bangs the door again. you ignored him and grabbed your phone to inform your mom you’d be staying over for awhile.
you hear the doorknob jingling and suddenly the door busts open to reveal a really worried, red faced yoonbin. he immediately ran over to you and hugged you. “i’m sorry. i’m sorry” he kept repeating in your hair. you didn’t hug him back, instead you pushed him away.
“just leave me alone” you cried. his heart broke even more. “y/n please...” you see his lips trembling but you didn’t care, you grabbed your duffel bag and walked over the door.
“i’ll be staying at a friend’s place for a while. i’ll see you wherever” you say, walking over to the front door. you hear yoonbin apologies again but you ignored them all. right before you were gonna leave, you felt arms snake around your waist.
“please.. don’t leave me...” you hear him sniffle. you removed his arms around your waist. you stare at his crying eyes. “i won’t leave you but I need some time alone, okay?” you croaked. the color from his face drained. “i’m sorry and i love you. i’ll see you later” you kissed his cheek. what you usually do before leaving off somewhere.
after you closed the door, you immediately ran to your mom’s car waiting at the lobby while yoonbin stood there staring at the front door thinking what he has done.

pressure enough to break pt.1 | ha yoonbin
warnings: light swearing
notes: i just miss yoonbin and i miss writing so here y’all go lol
Adulthood is full of lessons. Perhaps too many. Meeting him was one of them.
I grew up thinking I was invisible. I wasn't really considered conventionally attractive at all, growing up in a primarily white town. I was used to being seen as abnormal, ugly and strange but I somehow still managed, excelling in academics and sports. At the age of 13, my parents decided to move to Korea to start an English language school. To be honest, I was happy to escape my shitty ass hometown. I learned Korean pretty fast, went to an international school and finally made some real friends. One of them I was particularly attached to. Yoonbin used to sneak me out at night and we would smoke together on his rooftop. Wasn’t necessarily what the two top students of the school should’ve been doing but it was relaxing for the both of us. He was also the first person I would call whenever I was stressed out or confused about anything. Until one night everything changed.
As seniors there was one night where the whole grade would come together to party before you all finally graduated, senior night. It wasn’t necessarily a big deal to you but it was to everyone else, including your friends Momo and Chaeyoung. The two girls dragged you out to go shopping before the event, desperate to find you something sexy to wear. You usually wore casual streetwear fits, not bothering with the typical Korean girly look as you knew it wouldn’t suit you.
“Come on y/n can you just try it out? You have one night to finally stand out, can you just listen to us” Momo sighed as she put a black minidress against your frame.
“I’m an American girl in Korea. I think I stand out a lot bestie,” you laughed, carefully looking at the dress against you. It was a bit short for your liking but… maybe not that bad.
“Ok well if you can just go in the dressing room and try it on that'll be great” yelled Chaeyoung, pushing you into a stall.
_
“Omg you look amazing!!! I fucking knew it you’re gonna be the baddest bitch tonight I swear Yoonbin is gonna cry” Momo squealed as you left her bathroom, finally changed into the dress she had picked out earlier.
“Can you please chill out with the Yoonbin shit, it’s not like that between us.” you smiled, reaching for your makeup bag to put on some blush.
“Bro, he definitely likes you. I don’t know any other guy who would risk getting caught by your strict ass parents to go see you every night.” Chaeyoung pointed out.
“Welp, even if he does it wont change anything because we’re going to different colleges anyways.”
“In the same city! Can you stop being so cynical all the goddamn time.” sighed Momo.
“Ok guys we gotta start pregaming, the party’s almost starting.” Chaeyoung smiled, handing you and Momo each a Smirnoff bottle.”
_
Honestly, the night was much better than you had imagined. This was basically the only night your parents allowed you to party. You were finally free, out partying, drinking, flirting. You felt so... powerful? As the DJ started to play Partynextdoor you pushed Momo out onto the dancefloor, hands all over her. You couldn’t help it, I mean she was sexy as hell lol.
“Damn, I see you havin fun over here?” Yoonbin whispered, giving you a side hug.
“Welcome to the party!” you sang along, clearly drunk.
He laughed, dancing along with the both of you.
“Wait, I see Jaehyun over there I’ll be right back!” Momo explained, rushing over to the opposite side of the room.
You didn’t even register that she was gone as Yoonbin grabbed your waist, pulling you close.
“You look amazing tonight” he whispered, kissing you on the cheek.
It wasn’t a big deal right? I mean he had kissed you on the cheek before, when you were crying over your first boyfriend…
“Thank you” you smiled, moving your hands to the back of his neck.
“You seem drunk, you wanna go get some water?”
“But they don’t have any more water here, I don't wanna be lame and leave the girls here” you whine, looking around to find Chaeyoung and Momo around some of your other guy friends.
“They’ll be fine, they're with Jaehyun,” he smiled, pulling you towards the exit.
Normally you would've been annoyed. But it was Yoonbin, you could trust him with your life.
He took you to a nearby convenience store, getting you water and some snacks and before you knew it you were snacking on a bag of chips and just walking along the roads of Seoul.
“Where are we actually going?” you paused after a while, staring back at him.
“Ummm, I don’t know to be honest I just wanted to be with you.” he smiled.
“You were with me, like the whole night?”
“No, like alone. I know this is your only night to party but I’m really gonna miss you when we go to college you know…” he admitted.
“Yoonbin we’re still gonna see each other” you laughed, linking his arm with yours.
“It won’t be the same though, who’s gonna be my free therapist?”
“Hey, if anything you were my free therapist considering all the boy problems you helped me solve. Anyways, I’m sure you’ll find plenty of amazing people in your new school and you’re gonna forget all about me” you nudged him.
“But nobody’s ever gonna top you.” he whispered.
You were about to reply but then Yoonbin stopped you, turning you around.
“We’re back at the party location. Wanna go back in for round 2?” he smirked.
“Yeah, let’s find the others” you smile, throwing the empty bottle and snacks into a nearby trash can before entering.
_
“The DJ is on fire tonight!” Chaeyoung screamed, moving side to side as you all jammed to the Calvin Harris song coming from the speakers.
It was that one song you and Yoonbin used to listen to literally every summer night whilst smoking. You turn to him, smiling as you grab his hands, pushing them up into the air.
“You still remember this song?”
“Can you please stop being overdramatic, I haven’t forgotten any of our memories Yoonbin!” you yelled.
_
You woke up the next morning in a familiar bedroom, wearing a big shirt.
“Where tf am?” you stood up abruptly.
“Relax.. It’s like 7am” Yoonbin groaned, standing up from where he was sleeping on the floor.
“Omg it’s you, how did I get back here? And change into this?” you look down.
“Oh, it’s not like that Momo and Chaeyoung came all the way here to make sure you were alright and changed you into the shirt, they’re downstairs sleeping on my couch” he reassured you.
“Oh, so nothing happened?”
“Why did you want something to happen between us?”
“Um, no I’m just saying…”
“I’m just messing with you y/n” he smiled, grabbing your right cheek.

Coward
The tags of ygtb have been really dry lately and it makes me very very very sad LOL because I want new content and things to read and to laugh about, but because of YG stupid ass we get nothing. Anyways here’s a new writing. I haven’t been able to write because my writers block is hitting me really hard... I’m sorry )): but here is a Yoonbin fic I’ve been working on.
Characters: Ha Yoonbin x You
Length: 1609
Genre: Angst + hint of fluff
It’s been eight months since i’ve broken up with Yoonbin. In all honesty I never wanted to break up with him, but things were said and done. Never have I once didn’t like him, no, I loved him more than anything.
“You’re dozing off again,” Junkyu said.
“Yeah, I know,” I replied.
“What are you stuck on about,”
“Him. Ha Yoonbin,”
“(Y/N), just go and talk to him,”
“Are you insane? No, I can’t, I haven’t seen him since we broke up. I don’t even think he cares,”
“You’re the one who broke up with him, and now you’re over here mourning over him. I don’t get it,”
“And you don’t have too, but Yoonbin and I? It’s just never going to happen or work out,”
“You said that last time and you guys got back together,”
“Junkyu shut up, we don’t talk about that,”
He stayed silent as we walked him together. I knew Junkyu wanted to say something but he knew better.
“...”
“Just why did you break up with him again,” He asked. “I just didn’t deserve him, okay. He deserves someone better. Also, school was coming up and I couldn't do long distance,”
“Did you like him even though you broke up with him…”
“Yeah…”
“You coward,” He frowned.
“That’s me,” I laughed.
“Just stay with him,”
“Kyu, it’s too late,”
“You’re only saying that because you’re scared,”
“It doesn’t matter, I can’t,”
He heavily sighed and looked at me and gave me a hug.
“I wish you would stop…”
“I wish I could too,”
After that, I arrived home and went to my bed and laid down and drowned myself into tears as usual.
*Ha Yoonbin. My freshman year crush… I broke his heart freshman year because I was scared dating, strike 1. After that, we only became friends. In junior year he cut me off because of my toxic previous boyfriend. Senior year came around and I was no longer with the toxic ex, he started to talk to me again, evidently we got closer and I was falling for him again, we dated but only for two weeks. I broke up with him because I was traumatized of dating, strike 2. Five months passed and we tried again… we lasted for four months and then I broke up with him again, strike 3. Three strikes and i’m out, I broke his heart three times. Did I really deserve him? My answer was always no, but my heart yearned for a yes instead.*
After hours later of non-stop crying, I felt a bit better (not really). All of a sudden my phone vibrated and there was a message from Kyu.
Tears were rushing out of my eyes again. Fuck, why does he miss me, why does he care? He should just hate me. I don’t get it, I don’t deserve you. I never will. I’m sorry.
1 week later
I wasn’t going to lie, what Kyu told me, it fucked me over so bad. It would occur in my thoughts everyday, but I would just try to continue my day. This weekend Junkyu invited me to go see him and Yedam’s performance at the talent show. I agreed to go because I wanted to support them, but I realized there would be a chance Yoonbin would be there. My anxiety level raised, but I did promise them i would be there.
DAY OF THE SHOW.
It was 6PM and I arrived at the show, the stress and anxiety came and attacked me, my heart was pounding like crazy. There were so many people in the room it made me feel anxious. I found a seat and took a seat. As I sat there I was shaking, being around people did not make me feel good, not only that I was on the radar for Yoonbin, my eyes searched for him but yet my heart couldn’t and wouldn’t bare to face him. The show started and I sat there watching the show, the show helped eased my anxiety and thoughts. As I sat there hearing people sing and rap, finally it was Junkyu and Yedam’s turn singing! They chose to sing the song “Last Dance” By Big Bang. There was another guy, I think his name was Jeongwoo? He sang with them also, but in the end all three of them sang well and did an amazing job. Their performance had ended and many people clapped for them, they bowed their heads and walked off stage. I was happy for them, afterall, they did an amazing job. I was filled with joy and at this point, and I was excited for the next stage performance, but all of those emotions went down the drain as soon as I saw Yoonbin walking on the stage getting ready to perform. I wanted to get up and walk out that door, but I couldn’t feel my legs, they were numb, and I was shaking in fear.
Yoonbin got on stage with Yeongue and they sang, “Woo-Ah” by Crush. I sat there, looking at him and without a doubt he saw me sitting there, I know because we made eye-contact. He did good, I wasn’t going to lie. I wanted to run up and hug him and such but I knew better. His performance ended, and I was overwhelmed with so many emotions, but honestly I just wanted to cry. It hurts so much, I got up and ran out of the building and sat down by the fields. I sat there crying feeling the cold wind breeze brush against me.
All of a sudden I felt a jacket on me, I looked up and saw it was Ha Yoonbin, the least person I wanted to see and be comforted by.
“It’s cold out, why are you crying?”
“Just needed some air,” I sniffed.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“No, I don’t think I will be, but it’s fine,” I smiled.
“Listen, just because we broke up that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you,”
“You should hate me,”
“Well, I don’t”
“Why are you here?” I asked.
“I can’t leave someone I love outside here,”
My heart flinched in pain
“Stop, you don’t love me,”
“Of course I do. What are you saying, for fuck sakes (Y/N). I fucking love you, even if man you fucked me over three times. I still love you. It’s you, you’re the one,”
“Yoonbin, I’m a coward. I don’t know how you can say that. I’ve hurt you too many times for you to even love me and forgive me. Why?”
“If i’m honest, I don’t think I deserve you. You’re so strong, I know why you did those things, I know you were just trying to protect yourself and me. I know you’re trying put me before yourself for everything. I don’t deserve you,”
“That’s ridiculous,”
“Please answer my question,”
Don’t run away coward
“What is it?”
“Do you… still love me…?”
Answer him truthfully
I sighed heavily.
“Yes,” I sighed.
There I was again sighing and crying my life away like it was nothing.
He pulled me in for a hug but I pushed him back, he looked at me and it looked like he was hurt by my actions.
“I don’t get you, why are you doing this?” He asked.
“You don’t have to, but I’m not the one,”
“What do you mean? I love you, and you love me, so why are you acting like this. Can we please just stop,” He begged.
“Because it just won’t work out,”
“YOU’RE NOT TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK,” He yelled.
I flinched as he yelled at me with his loud angry voice.
“Don’t raise your voice at me, you know it won’t work out,”
“(Y/N), you’re not trying. All you do is run away and give excuses for you and me, mostly importantly US,”
“NO YOONBIN, IT JUST WON’T WORK OUT,”
“STOP SAYING THAT. STOP SAYING IT WON’T WORK OUT, WE HAVEN’T EVEN TRIED YET,”
“ I DON’T WANT TO TRY, BECAUSE IN THE END WE’LL BOTH GET HURT,”
He started to cry.
“Aren’t you being too much? Don’t you think this is suffocating for the both of us? (Y/N), I’m trying to reach out to you. How many times do I have to tell you. I love you, I just want to be with you. I just fucking miss you,” He cried.
I sat there looking at him and tears were forming. I’m selfish, heartless, the worst human being, what kind of person deserves to be loved by someone after ruining them and making them cry. Not me. He pulled me in and hugged me tightly, I tried retaliating but he overpowered me.
“Please give us one more go, give us one more chance. I promise I will fight for us and I won’t let you go,” He said.
“Yoonbin, I can’t. We can’t. I just-“ I cried.
“You just what? We can’t what? We can’t be together? Why do you act like its sin for us to be together?”
Because it is.
“I’m not the one,” I replied.
“You can’t decide and think for me on that (Y/N), I get to decide on that. If I’m telling you that you’re the one and I want to love you then its the truth. I don’t say these things for no reason. Let alone, I didn’t come out here to chase you for no reason. I want to be with you,”
I gave in to his hug and wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly as I sobbed and made ugly noises.
I was a coward, but he still loved me anyways.

did you even love me? |Hyunsuk|
𝓬𝓱𝓸𝓲 𝒽𝓎𝓊𝓃𝓈𝓊𝓀 𝓰𝓮𝓷𝓻𝓮: 𝒶𝓃𝑔𝓈𝓉 𝟣,𝟢𝟩𝟣 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝒹𝓈 I watch him talk from the other side of the room, his lips trembling, he won’t meet my eyes. I don’t know how we got here from where we were at but I knew it was too good to last. I feel a tear slide down my face a quickly wipe it away as he looks up at me finally. “Are you upset?” He finally meets my eyes and I give him a small smile. No one could be upset at him for anything, I just felt disappointed. “I’m fine,” you pack up your stuff and sniffle but tell him it’s just a small cold. You rush out of the room as he tries to stop you but he justs lets you go in the end. You get outside the room and break down finally, the tears won’t stop and the world just got darker as you cry on your knees.“I understand…” you compose yourself and stand up straightening out your skirt and holding your head as high as you can, and you head home not looking back. That was two months ago, you sit scrolling though your feed on Instagram, you mindlessly like your friends pictures of them hanging out on vacation while you sit at home eating chips and watching kdramas. You pause on a photo and sit up turning on the lamp beside your bed. You study his smile, the way he looks at her, they’re smiling probably the happiest people in the world. You look in the mirror in your room and look at yourself. You haven’t been keeping up with yourself since that day and you look like a train wreck, you have your hair up in a bun from who knows how long ago, you have tissues laying around in piles, chip bags are on your bed, floor, dresser, and even on the bathroom counter.“If he can be happy, why can’t I?” you ask yourself remembering all those happy times you had with him and asking why he moved on so quickly, if he ever even loved you, these things destroyed you. You break down again, you shake in sadness you don’t silently cry like you did that day, you let the sobs echo through the empty house he once called his second home. The questions build up and you grab an old picture and throwing it at the mirror causing it to shatter and pieces to go flying, the person you were seeing is not there anymore and you don’t think she’ll come back. You get out of the bed and walk out of the room.“I’m done with this, I’m done with the self pity, the questions, I’m done with Choi Hyunsuk,”you get back onto your phone and find his profile, you hover over unfollow before clicking it and letting out a sigh. You hop into the shower and get dressed in a low cut tee shirt and some cute shorts, you twirl a strand of your long hair around your finger before grabbing a pair of scissors and cutting it to shoulder length, it’s rough because you aren’t a hairdresser so it’s slightly uneven, you’d have to go to get it fixed later but right now you didn’t care. “I’m coming,” you call your friend and she sounds ecstatic over the news, you wait for your uber and look into the unbroken mirror thinking something is missing so you go through your jewelry box. You pick up a gold butterfly necklace examining it before putting it on. You felt complete as you step into the uber and get dropped off at the home of your friend. You bite your lip as a nervous habit and go inside where your immediately rushed over to and hugged.“I love your hair!” she screams over the blasting music of her party and reaches over and runs her fingers through your hair and let out a small chuckle she’s unable to hear over the noise. She grabs your arm pulling you over to dance with her and you do, you laugh and party and drink. You wobble over to the couch halfway through the night and set your head down closing your eyes as your head pounds. The room looks to be spinning and you are having a difficult time as someone comes over and sits next to you, they’re saying something but you can’t completely understand what. You look up trying to focus on their face, he has dark brown hair and you hear a gasp from him as soon as he realizes it’s you.“Y/n….” you look at his face focusing slightly, he’s changed his hair, but his face still shows the same person, his perfect smile, dark eyes, it’s still Hyunsuk. You push him away lightly and stand up unable to keep your balance he helps to steady you, you attempt to push him away again but fail as he pulls you into one of the other rooms.“You’re staying in here,” he explains but you try to leave and he pulls you away from the door. “I hate you,” you finally say and Hyunsuk doesn’t say anything he just listens to you as you let everything out for the first time. “I get that I’m on the other side of the world and you’re here, but that’s what I liked, that no matter how different we are from each other we could do it, and bring out the best, You had your reasons but you never explained it fully to me, I DON’T GET ANY ANSWERS AND SUFFER! YOU MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT YOU WERE DOING US A FAVOR BUT I THINK THAT YOU’RE AN IDIOT, CHOI HYUNSUK, I HATE YOU,” you fall to the ground crying once again.“I’m sorry-” he attempts but you look up at him, “a sorry would have been enough months ago, but I don’t believe it, what are you sorry for? For hurting me? For breaking me? WHAT ARE YOU SORRY FOR?” you choke up and look down again in tears.“I didn’t think we’d make it, so if we weren’t going to make it what would be the point, I didn’t want to let go but it was something I felt we had to do, if we were supposed to make it we’d find our way back, of course I loved you,” Hyunsuk bends down next to you as you continue to cry.
I watch him talk from the other side of the room, his lips trembling, he won’t meet my eyes. I don’t know how we got here from where we were at but I knew it was too good to last. I feel a tear slide down my face a quickly wipe it away as he looks up at me finally. “Are you upset?” He finally meets my eyes and I give him a small smile. You bite your lip as a nervous habit and go inside where your immediately rushed over to and hugged.
“I love your hair!” she screams over the blasting music of her party and reaches over and runs her fingers through your hair and let out a small chuckle she’s unable to hear over the noise. You look up trying to focus on their face, he has dark brown hair and you hear a gasp from him as soon as he realizes it’s you.
“Y/n….” you look at his face focusing slightly, he’s changed his hair, but his face still shows the same person, his perfect smile, dark eyes, it’s still Hyunsuk. You push him away lightly and stand up unable to keep your balance he helps to steady you, you attempt to push him away again but fail as he pulls you into one of the other rooms.
“You’re staying in here,” he explains but you try to leave and he pulls you away from the door. YOU MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT YOU WERE DOING US A FAVOR BUT I THINK THAT YOU’RE AN IDIOT, CHOI HYUNSUK, I HATE YOU,” you fall to the ground crying once again.
“I’m sorry-” he attempts but you look up at him, “a sorry would have been enough months ago, but I don’t believe it, what are you sorry for? For hurting me? For breaking me? WHAT ARE YOU SORRY FOR?” you choke up and look down again in tears.
“I didn’t think we’d make it, so if we weren’t going to make it what would be the point, I didn’t want to let go but it was something I felt we had to do, if we were supposed to make it we’d find our way back, of course I loved you,” Hyunsuk bends down next to you as you continue to cry.

friends to lover with bestfriend!yoonbin
yoonbin x reader (y/n)
genre: fluff w bit of angst
warnings: not proofread oops
(yoonbin celebrating being your lover!)
-
so as you read the title, yoonbin is your lover
and he’s more of a bestfriend type of lover, since he rlly liked the way you guys bonded
but he still decided to ask you out because now it means he can kiss u!
but we all wanna know how this happened right?
so let’s get started hehehehhe
so basically it was you fangirling over idols as you always did
nothing new
and yoonbin never seemed to mind it frankly because he knew you’d never meet those idols (how rude) even tho he has the biggest crush on you
but this time, it was different
it was a treasure 13 member
yoshinori!!!
one of his group mates!
and honestly, he felt attacked
he thought he was your bias ://
and he lowkey felt like yoshinori was competition now
ao things got awkward for yoonbin
he would always keep an eye on yoshinori during practice, trying to find what yoshi had that he didn’t
but luckily nobody noticed
until yoonbin tried to distance himself from you
which left you extremely confused??
and you tried talking to jihoon about it to see if you did anything in particular to set yoonbin off
but jihoon couldn’t think of anything either
and you knew how yoonbin was
so you didn’t wanna push him
you decided to give him some space and actually start ignoring him too
and that made yoonbin sad
even though it’s all his fault
and you guys didn’t talk to each other for a week
and that might not be a lot to some people
but it was like a drought to you guys
he tried talking to you at school
or through friends
but you wouldnt accept it
it hurt too much that yoonbin started distancing for no reason or so you thought
and yoonbin couldn’t handle it anymore so he decided to text you
(11:54pm) yoonben🤡: (y/n)
(11:57pm) yoonben🤡: (y/n) plss
(12:03am) y/n: so now you wanna talk to me??
(12:04am) yoonben🤡: please let me explain
so you did, you let him explain
he called you, and it was the first heart to heart you guys had in a while
and the call lasted like 3 hours
but is was worth it
because not only did you guys reconcile
but you both discovered that your feelings towards each other were mutual
and honestly you teared up a little
it was the softest you’ve ever seen yoonbin and it made your heart do a little jump
so you guys decided to meet up at the park the next day since it was already getting late
you went to bed that night, happy with a smile on your face
and when you woke up, it was the only thing you could think about the whole day
when the time came to go meet him,
you dashed out that door despite the fact that your eyes were puffy asf from the night before
lets just say you left your house single
but came back with a boyfriend ;)))
you changed his contact name from “yoonben🤡” to “binniee<3″
and although he pretended to cringe and hate it
you both know he loves it
when you go visit magnum while they’re practicing
he’s extra protective over you now
especially towards yoshinori
the poor kid doesn’t even know why yoonbin is so against him talking to you
but
end of story
thats how ben ha got you from liking him, to hating him, to loving him

Memories of You
➺ summary: because every picture tells a story
➺ paring: jihoon/reader
➺ genre: low-key angst?? idk ahh
➺ word count: je ne sais pas
A/N: I thought this would be a cute (actually it’s kinda sad now that I think about it) idea for a story so hope you all agree haha
It had been a month since you and Jihoon parted ways. A month since he last saw you. A month since he last kissed you. A month since he last broke your heart.
He can still picture that day in his head. A painful breakup, resulting with two hearts, so broken that the strongest glue in the world wouldn’t be able to bring its pieces back together. As much as he wishes to forget you, everywhere he looks, it’s you. The bed, the cup, even when he closes his eyes, you’re there. That day has been replaying in his head for a month, from the moment the sun rises until the moment it sets, creating an emotionless boy, who isn’t able to smile, laugh, or even cry.
He does paint on a smile and a laugh in front of his friends though, not wanting to worry them.
But due to the fact that he was the one to break up with you, they all thought he was fine. He’s the one who fell out of love with you right? He's the one that wanted to focus more on his career.. right?
I mean, at least that’s what he told them.
After dance practice for Treasure 13, Yedam ran to Jihoon, wrapping his arm around his shoulder, “Aye Jihoon, we’re going to go to Byounggon’s house after practice, you’re coming right?”
“Sorry, I’m so tired. If I go I’ll probably just ruin the fun.”
“C’mon just sleep at his house if you get tired, we all haven’t hung out with Seunghun and Byounggon since ygtb ended.”
“Yeah that’s true.”
“So you’re coming?”
“Do I even have a choice haha.”
Yedam brings his lips up into a big smile, hugging Jihoon, so happy that all his friends have a chance to hang out again after such a busy schedule.
Jihoon on the other hand, while being a bit excited about finally hanging out with his friends again, was completely terrified of the fact that this was the first time going out of the dorm, except for the studio, since you guys have broken up. A month since he met up with his friends for fun. A month since he actually had fun. He was terrified if he could even have fun ever again.
But time passed by quick and soon he ended up sitting on Byounggon’s couch, hugging a pillow and talking to his friends about what movie they should watch.
“No. You know I can’t watch scary movies.”
“Junkyu if you can live through ygtb I think you can live through watching The Conjuring.”
They ended up with just watching Train to Busan (”If I can’t sleep tonight and keep you guys up then you only have yourselves to blame” -Junkyu) and all the boys were completely sobbing at the end of it. Except one.
“Jihoon what the heck how are you not crying,” Hyunsuk asks, blowing his nose into what appeared to look like Junkyu’s beret
He shrugged. Not knowing how to respond.
“Jihoon didn't cry? Mr. Crybaby?” Junkyu teases, while also punching Hyunsuk in the arm
“I guess it just wasn't sad enough for me?”
“Pft this isn’t fair, you look all tough now because we all cried. Hey whoever makes Mr. Tough over here cry first wins” Byounggon whipped out phone and began looking for sad videos on youtube that can get some tears out of his friend.
The other boys followed his lead and soon ended up with Jihoon watching sad videos left and right, from cute animal videos to sad asian commercials that always get people choked up (a/n: don’t tell me you don't know what I’m talking about).
But nobody won.
He shrugged, “I don’t know, I haven’t really been able to cry every since Y/N-”
He looked down at the ground from the sound of your name coming out of his mouth. A sound he didn’t expect to hear himself utter for a long time.
Seunghun looked at him, worried about his best friend, “Hey hoon, you alright?”
The boys gathered around him and looked at him with both confusion, thinking Jihoon was completely over you, and sympathy, worrying if their friend is hurt.
“Yeah I’m fine, I guess I just kinda miss being in a relationship. It was really nice having someone around me all the time, taking pictures together, being together. I just miss the relationship aspect of it all, not her, don't get me wrong.”
“Um, I don’t know if this’ll help at all but if you miss that then I have that photo album that y/n left here. After you guys broke up I wasn't sure if I should’ve still given it to you but she was going to give it to you for your anniversary. Do you want to me to go get it?” Byounggon asks, rubbing the back of his neck, thinking if this was an okay thing to bring up.
Jihoon’s eyes eagerly shoot up, “Yes, please, can I see it?”
Byounggon brings back a fully packed white photo album, the cover having both of your names written on it in calligraphy, below it saying, “3 years of you and me” The boys continued to find another movie to watch as Jihoon began opening the cover, welcomed by the first picture you two took together.
A selfie: his arm wrapped around your neck, your cheek pressed against his cheek, and both of you laughing so hard that your eyes are shut:
He smiles, reliving the memory hidden in the picture:
“Y/N, this is probably your best first date ever, let’s be real.”
“Yes because you forgetting your wallet and me having to pay for ice cream for the both of us AND having to pay for yours again because you dropped it just screams best date ever.”
Jihoon gives you an annoyed look, making you laugh and link your arm with his and lean your head against his shoulder.
“I’m joking, this has been amazing Jihoon,” You smile up at him and he looks down, blushing.
“Hmph, I told you.” He kisses the top of your head and leans his head on top of yours, both of you sitting on the park bench looking out onto the sunset, “and there’ll be 100 million more best dates after this. Just you wait.”
He flipped the page, the next picture was one of his favorites. You were making breakfast and he had his arms wrapped around you from behind, his head was softly placed on your shoulder as he watched you cook. It was a really nice picture, the sun was hitting your face making you look absolutely breathtaking, and you were wearing his sweatshirt. It was just a normal sweatshirt when he wore it but whenever you wore it, it looked stunning:
The morning sunlight acted as your alarm as you both woke up in each others arms. Jihoon pulls himself into your chest, squeezing his eyes shut, not wanting to wake up.
“Jihooon.”
“No.”
You giggled at his blunt remark and brought your hand up to brush his hair.
“Jihoon we have to wake up, you gotta get ready for your lessons and I have work.”
You hear him groan into your chest and he brings his head out to look up at you, smiling.
“You're so pretty y/nnn.”
You blush at the sudden compliment, “Ew Jihoon, it’s too early to be cheesy.”
“I’m only cheesy because you're pretty, if you don’t want me to be cheesy then you’ll have to be not pretty which is impossible so looks like you’re stuck with cheesy me.”
“You are such a dork.”
“I call you pretty and you call me cheesy and a dork, this is bullying. I won’t condone it. I think you’re going to have to make up for it and make me chocolate chip pancakes."
“Oh really, and what if I don’t”
“Well then I’m sorry but I will be forced to go tell on you to Yoonbin who will be very mad at you for bullying his favorite person in the world.”
“I swear Jihoon,” you say, pulling him off of you and putting on one of his sweatshirts, “you’re lucky I love you.”
Jihoon smiles, watching you put on his clothes and walk out the room, getting ready to make him food.
He doesn’t remember the last time he’s been this happy in his life. He finally has someone to laugh with him when he’s happy, hold him when he’s sad, cuddle with him when he's tired, rant with him when he's angry, and love him the way he loves you. He was absolutely so downright in love with you that it scared him. But he knew with you by his side, nothing in the world could be terrifying.
Curiously, he flipped to the very last page, his heart beginning to ache with what he saw
It was a picture of the day before that day. The day before the day he cried more than he has in his life. The day before the day his heart permanently broke. The day before the day he lost you:
“Jihoon, I’m going to have to talk to you about y/n”
“Yes, what about her.”
“You’ll be debuting soon, in a group that already has millions of fans. You know what having a girlfriend will do to your image. To your group’s image.”
Jihoon sat there, hearing what his manager said over and over again in his head, thinking that he probably just misinterpreted it or something.
“So you’re telling me I’m just going to have to keep it private right?”
“No. I’m saying you’re going to have to break up with her. Keeping it private is too risky for rookies.”
He began to start feeling as if the world was running out of air to breathe, “But we’ve been together for 3 years? I- I thought you said if I kept in down low then it wouldn't be a problem.”
“Jihoon, I know this is going to be hard but this is for your career. Trust me, having a girlfriend even if the public doesn’t find out will be hard once you’re an idol, especially because she’s not one. And you’re young, you’ll find someone else once you're older.”
His manager stood up, finishing the conversation and left the room.
The walk back home was one of the most agonizing experiences in his life.
How was he supposed to tell you?
Should he even listen to his manager?
Should he just hid your relationship?
But then he heard his manager saying, “your group’s image.” If he screws up, then not only he will go down, but all his friends. The ones who worked just as hard as he did will have their career’s ruined because of him.
The minute he walked in, you ran into his arms.
“Jihoon!! I got an A on my Chemistry exam!! The one you helped me study for!!”
You squeezed your arms around him and smiled against his chest.
Jihoon automatically wrapped his arms around you and kissed your forehead, wanting to forget everything and just run away with you.
But his group rang into his head again. He couldn’t do this to them.
But could he do this to you?
Needing a moment to think he pulled away and asked you if he could have some alone time for a bit. You easily accepted, a bit worried, but didn’t question him.
Jihoon went into his room and sat on his bed, thinking. Not exactly creating a solution, but just thinking. He tried to think of loopholes in order to keep you but just couldn't.
“Am I stupid? Why can’t I think of anything.”
The only thing he could think of was you hating him. If you hate him, you’ll be mad at him, not sad because of the break up, right. You’ll just hate him and you won't be hurting..right. He didn’t care if he got hurt out of this, he just didn’t want you to.
So this was the only answer to this situation. Right??
Before he could even think about what he said to you and what you said to him after that, Jihoon immediately flipped back to the beginning. He landed on another beautiful picture. One with you two kissing in a big field. His arms wrapped around your waist and your- Wait. Why couldn’t he see the picture anymore? Why is it so blurry? What’s going on?
Jihoon brought his hand up to his eyes and immediately felt something wet.
Was he....crying?
He looked back down at the picture, drops soon beginning to splatter on it. He attempted to wipe them away but they kept falling. He couldn’t see the picture. He desperately wanted to see the picture. No, He desperately needed to see the picture.
No.
He desperately needed to see you.
Soon tears flowed down and wouldn’t stop. His cheeks started to become drenched and Jihoon couldn't do anything about it, but just sit there.
“Hey guys guess what.”
The boys look back at Jihoon and gasp.
“I win.”

As a person who enjoyed spending time with their friends and getting new experiences, it wasn’t at all surprising that you had such an affinity for the carnival that came to your city once a year for a week in the summer. Ever since you were old enough to know about its existence, you’d whine and complain until someone would take you there for a minimum of two of those days. Things hadn’t really changed too much since then, only that now you were older and it didn’t take adult supervision for you to be allowed to spend almost the full week down at the carnival with your friends.
In this sense, you always saw yourself as immensely lucky for finding a friend like Jihoon. He loved the things you disliked about the carnival; he basked in the sheer amount of noise coming from the different attractions and he found some kind of pure enjoyment from the slow shuffling of the crowds around him. But, most importantly of all, he was always willing to spend as much time as you wanted to there, which generally resulted in the two of you dragging more of your verging on unwilling friends to spend the full week in the business of it, too.
The carnival would start on the first Monday of the third week into your summer break from school, and end on the Sunday following. The memories that came with the carnival were one of your favourite things about it, both making them and getting to remember some of the moments you’d forgotten about in the stress that came with your daily schedule of classes. Last summer had been one of your favourites of them all, mostly because you adored the moments where you and Jihoon got the chance to have a meaningful conversation.
And, if you were honest with yourself, maybe the conversation you’d had with Jihoon as the carnival closed on the final Sunday was what made the trepidation and desperation for this week to be as childish and untouched as all of the others so prevalent for you. The sky was getting to be a deep blue by the time you’d both finally began to drag yourself in the directions of your homes, the smell of cotton candy and popcorn still lingering on the both of you as you spoke quietly about future plans. In the moment that you turned onto your street, Jihoon’s arm thrown across your shoulder as he grew quieter, doe eyes catching yours as he mumbled something you almost didn’t hear, you’d sworn to yourself that these moments were something you truly didn’t want to stop having.
“I don’t wanna grow up and apart from you guys,” he’d said softly, and when you’d stopped by your front door to ask him what that meant, he’d simply shrugged. “Every adult seems to just, give up on having close friends. I’m scared, you know, that we’ll all be like that.” He hadn’t given you much chance to respond before he’d insisted on being home on time, ruffling your hair before offering you a quick, “At least we’re always gonna have the carnival, huh?”
As cliché as you realised it was, you’d clung onto that sentiment, especially as the fear grew within your chest over this year’s carnival. It was, as you had to accept at some point, the last one you were all going to be able to spend together before you had to get serious about your futures. Jihoon and more of your friends were going to be idols, you had full faith in that, and some more of your friends were going off to further their educations, or to travel. It didn’t matter, really. Things were moving forward and this was the moment you’d been building yourself up to.
You tightened your grip around the water bottle in your hand, eyes glassing over slightly as you stared at the park’s table, the resounding sound of Doyoung’s voice hitting your ears. “After all these years, you’re still allergic to the idea of fun?”
You heard Yoonbin scoff, your eyes already moving to narrow at him, knowing he’d be expressing his distaste for the carnival week as he always did on the countdown before. “It’s not even that great,” he shrugged, “it’s just, a street with a lot of noise on it.”
“Uh,” you heard your friend who was planning to leave and travel the world as soon as the carnival week was up, Lisa, begin, “there’s rides, so your point isn’t valid.”
You laughed softly, watching as Yoonbin glared over at you, “I don’t know what you find so funny.”
Shrugging, you set the water bottle down onto the surface of the table, “I don’t know why you always come if you hate it so much.”
His eyes narrowed even further at you, his expression turning into a full scale scowl as he rolled his eyes at you, “It’s not like I have much choice. If I didn’t show up, Jihoon would come and make me, so, my options are limited, aren’t they?”
You couldn’t really think of a response to that, you knew he was actually right in this instance, but his constant onslaught of negativity made your built-up anxiety for this week to elevate. Part of you wanted Yoonbin to never talk to you, because it seemed he couldn’t say a single word to you without sarcasm and cynicism dripping from his tone – but the other part of you knew he wasn’t like that, not really. He’d only shown you the nicer side of himself once, as you supposed you had done the same with him; when he’d accidentally walked in on you crying in a bathroom at a party because you’d seen the boy you liked kiss someone else, and he’d dropped himself to sit beside you on the floor and let you cry on his shoulder until you were ready for him to walk you home.
Maybe you had a slight affection for him because of that, maybe you just thought he was nice to look at, but whatever the feeling was didn’t matter; he was uninterested in anything to do with you unless it was the two of you digging at one another until one of your friends interrupted. Strangely, the tension between the two of you had never caused much more than a layer of comical annoyance to build in your friendship group, which, even more irritatingly so, was entirely and irreversibly conjoined.
From the moment Jihoon had met Yoonbin and Doyoung, he’d dragged them into your friendship group, giving you no chance to get away from him since. When you thought about it, you didn’t really know who started the arguing in the first place, but you put the blame onto Yoonbin. Glancing back over at him, you saw he was occupied in a conversation with Jihoon, and you took the small space of time to admire him quietly. If he treated you like he treated all your other friends, you assumed you’d probably have one of those classic school-girl crushes on him. Because, as you had to consistently remind Lisa, you didn’t, under any circumstances, have any form of feelings towards him currently other than the irritation that he seemed to detest you for an unknown reason.
You felt an elbow dig into your side, and you turned your line of sight over to Lisa sat beside you, her eyebrows raising at you as she followed your previous vision to Yoonbin. You bit back a laugh as you lightly smacked her arm, “No, stop it,” you grumbled, attempting to make your moodiness seem convincing.
Lisa’s laugh met your ears as she rose to her feet, you following suit as everyone else seemed to be doing the same. Jihoon knocked his shoulder into yours as he fell into to walk beside you, “So, we’ve got two hours before it opens, I’m thinking we should spend it at my house this year.”
///
You groaned as you lay sprawled out on Jihoon’s bed, your fingertips stretching out above your head to ever so slightly brush one of the plushies placed neatly on the made sheets. You’d spent the last two hours re-watching a movie you’d both seen a million times by now, and now you were waiting around for him to finish up picking a jacket so you could finally leave to go get your other friends and get to the carnival.
“It’s literally just a jacket, Jihoon, you’re not even gonna need one.” You grumbled, pulling yourself to sit up, your shoe-clad shoes tapping against the floor of his room.
He hummed, yanking an old blue hoodie off a hanger in his closet, “The temperature drops as the sun goes down, doesn’t it? And who’ll be warm and toasty in a nice cosy jacket when the happens?”
You shrugged, lips curling into a mock frown, “Not with this much global warming it won’t.”
“Ah,” Jihoon began, shutting his bedroom door behind the both of you on the way out, “that’s an intelligent point, well done.”
A laugh past your lips as he followed you downstairs, your hand curling around the handle of the front door, pulling it down as you looked back to catch his eyes, “Thank you, I try.”
The walk to gather your friends individually was tedious, and completely unnecessary in your mind, you didn’t understand why you couldn’t all just meet at the actual carnival, but you did it anyway. By the time Yoonbin joined the group, a surge of nerves ran through you, unsure of whether or not he’d end up bringing the mood down this time, even if he’d never done it before. You found yourself slipping into silence over most of the walk, focusing instead of looking over at each of your friends to see their bright grins – your eyes lingered on Yoonbin for a moment too long, seeing him wrapped up in a seemingly idyllic moment, a smile that went all the way to his eyes lighting up his features as he walked slightly ahead of you.
Reaching the beginning of the carnival street, you felt yourself tense just slightly at the sight of the forming crowds, reaching over to curl your hand into Jihoon’s. He noticed, squeezing your hand once as he tugged you as close to him as the heat would allow, “I’m right here, okay?”
You looked over at him, feeling your heart tighten a little at the words, a nod moving from your body before you could begin to form a comprehensible sentence to him. Multiple voices met your ears at once, some from the crowd of people around you and others – the more intelligible ones – coming from your friends asking where you were all going first. Doyoung wanted to go to the Ferris wheel, as he did every single year. The lack of any other ideas meant you were all in agreement, heading straight over to the line, still short as more people began arriving after the opening.
“Yoonbin? You not coming?” You heard Doyoung say as you reached the line, looking over to see Yoonbin stood outside the line’s railings.
He shook his head, “This one’s boring, I’ll sit it out.” You rolled your eyes at him, watching his eyes narrow at you as you did.
As usual, you went to pair yourself with Lisa, as Jihoon and Yedam kept up their tradition of going on the Ferris wheel together every year. Except, as you turned to stand beside her, you found yourself floundering, unable to spot the girl amongst the boys in your friendship group. The front of the line was growing closer, causing bouts of panic to move through you as you turned to Doyoung, “Where did Lisa go?”
“She said she wanted to go grab candy for all of us before the line got long, remember?” Doyoung informed, tilting his head at you as the final pair in front of you joined. In general terms, you were sure if you were insistent the man controlling the ride would probably let you go on by yourself, but you both didn’t want to be alone on it, and you highly doubted you had it within you to be pressing enough. It was always the same unspoken rules at the carnival, every single year, most rides you had to go on in pairs because it got too busy and they didn’t have enough people working it otherwise.
The man with the carnival work shirt on rose his eyebrows at you, gesturing forward as you stepped passed the gate, seating yourself in the cart as anxiety made your stomach turn flips. You breathed in sharply, feeling the man look from you back to the line, “Who are you riding with?”
You stuttered slightly, mouth unable to form words as the idea of holding the line up began to bite into you. Your eyes fell to the floor as you struggled to find anything to say, imagining the scenario of how embarrassing it would be to get kicked off the first ride in the day in front of everyone.
You heard a deeper voice interrupt the tense silence, “Sorry, sorry, I had to stop to tie my shoelace, I’m with her.”
Glancing up from where you’d been tapping your foot against the metal frame underneath you, you saw Yoonbin had push himself into the line, and was raising his eyebrows at the man expectantly. The man sighed, “Alright, okay, go ahead.”
Yoonbin dropped to sit beside you, sighing slightly as he did so, reminding you ever so slightly of how warm he’d been next to you that night at the party. You felt the blush underneath your cheeks keep their place, embarrassment at him making fun of you for this digging into your skin as the bar was placed down in front of you both. The wheel began to turn again, and you kept your eyes everywhere except for falling to him.
He scoffed under his breath, “Not even a thank you?”
You wanted to narrow your eyes at him, tell him you didn’t ask him to do that for you, but you couldn’t quite find the burn to do so. It wasn’t like either of you were going to be seeing much of each other after this summer came to a close anyway. “Thank you,” you said softly, not looking away from the view beneath you.
“Whatever,” he grumbled, slumping himself back slightly in the cart as it continued to move, stopping occasionally for people at the bottom to get on and off. As you reached the top, you felt yourself pull in a pointed breath, seeing the buildings and people spread out in front of you. The sight made you both nostalgic and slightly sad, remembering all the different things you’d done and experienced in the town with your friends and by yourself. The swarm of memories made your eyes glass over with a thin layer of tears, and you used your index finger to swipe it away as casually as you could.
You felt Yoonbin’s eyes on you, making you keep your vision focused away from him even more intently. “Are you, okay?” You heard him ask quietly, and you nodded immediately in response, not trusting your voice to remain even as you didn’t look at him.
He didn’t speak again. Neither did you. Your cart reached the bottom again as you both got off, and you found your feet rushing ahead of him to reach your other friends. Lisa was grinning at you as you reached her, probably thinking of a way to tease you about Yoonbin as you forced a childish giggle past your lips in retaliation. The feeling that was pressed to you now would fade, you knew that; it would fade because your friends would give you something else to think about, as they always did.
Yoonbin re-joined the group along with you, his eyes not leaving your form as he ignored Jihoon’s small tease of, “I thought you found Ferris wheels boring?”
The rest of the day didn’t grow boring, it never did, but it did fill you with a sense of nostalgia and a dulled down version of panic. The crowds and noise surrounding you, for once, causing you no anxiety, your mind too consumed with being as completely in the moment with your friends around you as possible.
“Now that it’s getting slightly darker,” you heard Jihoon begin, your eyes shifting to look up at the sky, which had fallen from the bright blue it had remained all day to a muted version of itself.
Yedam scrunched his face up in slight confusion, “It’s not dark at all.”
Jihoon shushed him, turning back to face everyone else as a grin took over his features, “Now that it’s getting darker,” he began again, “I think it’s time we went to the haunted house.”
The group had mixed reactions then, some of them groaning in protest to the familiar visit, and others beaming at the idea of the excitement it brought with it. A bright laugh made you all turn to Lisa, who grinned over at you before speaking, “I think, we should do it, but, we should pick each other’s partners for it.”
You felt your stomach drop immediately, your eyes falling on Yoonbin before you glared over at Lisa, hearing the rest of the group laugh in agreement. The immediate idea between all of them, of course, was that Yoonbin and you would go in together last, to make sure the tension was really built up. Even through your attempts to not spare Yoonbin a single glance, you found yourself cautiously observing him for a visible reaction, seeing him furrow his brows before going to interject on the plan. He was immediately silenced by Junkyu beside him, who nudged him with his elbow lightly and said something you could only imagine was related to loosening up and having fun.
Time seemed to blur in front of you as the pairs in front of you both went in and came out, either complaining that it wasn’t scary enough or that it was too much. In all honesty, you wished you could just have a normal haunted house, like amusement parks had, where you could go in, walk through a hallway and maybe up and down a flight of stairs while things jumped out at you. But, as always, things couldn’t be exactly as you wanted them, that was far too selfish of you to assume. Instead, you had to go room by room to find some form of amusement from the building, getting jump-scared by different things in each. You reached the front, your worry for this day having been forgotten and turned over into annoyance with your friends for making you do this.
Yoonbin was tensed up beside you, and you wondered for a second if he was scared to go into the haunted house, but you doubted it, he’d never been particularly scared of them in the years before. You were gonna make the assumption that it was because he had to go in with you. You reached the front with him, watching as he told the person taking the money that you didn’t need the rules explaining to you before you headed inside.
The first two rooms passed by in a relative blur, although you’d decided after a couple minutes of entering the house that you should count every single time Yoonbin scoffed or rolled his eyes at either you or the concept. You headed back into the hallway from the second room, the lighting making you stumble slightly, knocking your knee against the side of a bookcase as you turned too quick, hissing slightly in pain. You heard Yoonbin mumble something underneath his breath, walking past you to go to the third room, and you wondered if you should class that as a scoff. You decided to go on the safe side and add it to the list, knocking the count up to seven.
Passing the doorframe to get into the room seemed like a mistake as soon as you did it, hearing the door slam behind you as you jolted in surprise. “Seriously? You come here every single year for seven days and that still scared you?” You heard Yoonbin dig, making you glare over at him as your shoulders tensed in aggravation.
“It’s not my fault you’re so robotic that loud noises don’t phase you,” you huffed, feeling the sting in your knee from earlier still running through you as you wanted this walk through to be finished as soon as possible. “Why are we even going to the rooms if you don’t wanna be in here?”
He blanched for a second, glancing around before he lifted his shoulders in a dismissive shrug, “Fine, let’s just go to the exit.”
Yoonbin took a confident step forward to go past to you as the projector switched on, the twisted image of a woman screaming being put onto the blank wall in front of you. This drew little to no reaction from either of you, the both of you knowing from past experience that this happened in the third room. He didn’t pause his movements for very long, taking another step past you and reaching for the handle of the door, tugging it on roughly, pulling it back. The door didn’t budge, however, and he retried the action of pulling it back a couple more times as his moves grew vaguely frantic at the lack of a result.
You stepped forward, peering around his frame to see what was happening as he began to push on the door, checking to see if this did anything different. He turned back to glance at you as nothing happened once again, seeing a look of panic gather on your features as he knocked on the wood surface of the door a few times, hearing a patter of footsteps approach from the other side.
The door handle moved as the person from the other side evidently attempted to open it, seeing it keep to its closed place. Loud banging sounds moved through the space of the room that felt as though it was beginning to grow smaller, before everything went back into silence, your eyes going back to the where the projected image had been, having been turned off and reset for the next lot of guests now.
From inside the room, you could hear what sounded like fragments of a conversation, leading you to assume whoever was running the haunted house was radioing someone else. A muffled voice cut into the atmosphere a few drawn out seconds later, “Uh, okay, so, we’re gonna get some help to get the door open because it’s, well, it’s snapped, somewhere, our apologies. Is everybody okay in there?”
You watched with your bottom lip between your teeth as Yoonbin glanced back over at you, “Yeah, we’re fine, just, how long is it gonna take? To get the door open?”
You heard more indistinct radio chatter before the voice spoke again, “Not long, not long, we’ve just gotta get some tools to pry it open, you know, so, maybe, about half an hour.”
The answer both relieved you and caused a large bout of panic to go through you again. Half an hour, realistically, wasn’t that great a period of time, and so you wouldn’t be trapped in a confined dark space with a boy who hated you for very long. But this also meant that things weren’t going to go to plan with your friends, and now this would probably ruin the haunted house for the rest of the week, and that would mean you wouldn’t be able to go through it with Jihoon or anyone else again before Sunday. The idea filled your chest with a desperate and dramatic need to sit down and cry, but you knew that wasn’t an option for right then. You zoned yourself out as Yoonbin answered a couple more questions from the other person, lowering yourself to sit on the cold wooden floor of the room, leaning yourself back against the wall and tucking your knees to your chest.
Leaning your cheek down onto your knees as you sighed softly, you heard heavy footsteps approach your spot as Yoonbin lowered himself to sit beside you. The odd reminiscence from earlier became a full blown repetition of that night at the party, and you would have wanted to laugh if the fear within you wasn’t so great. You could see, out of the corner of your eye, that Yoonbin had looked over at you, and was most likely feeling irritation with you build up for being petty enough to blatantly ignore him in a situation like this.
You felt a burst of courage move through you as you glanced over at him, watching as his eyes immediately met yours. Tilting your head at him as much as space would allow with your head pressed to your legs, you heard him speak softly, “It’s not that long,” he began, “you don’t need to be scared, I mean. It’s only half an hour.”
The slight tilt of concern in his voice made you wonder over him more so than usual, trying to understand why he acted the way he did with you and no one else. Despite yourself, you let yourself smile softly at him, “I’m not…I’m not scared, but thank you, anyway.”
He nodded slowly, but his gaze stayed locked on yours, “Can I ask you a question?” He inquired quietly, his voice dropping to almost a whisper as you heard a collection of footsteps outside the room again.
The adjusting sound of metal tools and people speaking met your ears as you responded at the same volume as he’d spoken, “Sure, why not.”
The ghost of a smile tugged at his lips before he spoke again, “What have you been thinking about today?”
Caught of guard by the suddenness of his question, you recoiled a little, eyebrows furrowing in confusion. “I…what, like, do you want a cohesive list of everything I’ve thought about today?”
A breathy laugh passed his lips before it turned into a light scoff, “No, I mean, you know, I want, I wanna know what’s been bothering you today.”
“Oh,” you began, losing eye contact with him as you attempted to think of whether or not you’d been too obvious with what had been going through your mind all day, “was it…obvious, like, was I acting weird?”
He shook his head quickly, “No, I, I just noticed on the Ferris wheel and, you know, couldn’t not see it after that.”
At this, a slight wash of relief came over you before you began thinking of what to say. You presumed that you should probably lie to him, his sudden interest in knowing what was going through your mind was something you assumed you should see as a warning sign for something. But you didn’t particularly want to. And, in an unexplainable way, you somehow felt that there would be an understanding of the feeling if you told Yoonbin, of all people.
“I just, I don’t know, I want this week to be perfect, for everyone.” You answered simply, watching as Yoonbin looked at you quizzically, urging you to keep talking. You found yourself without words again, dropping eye contact with him as thoughts swarmed around your mind again.
“Why’s this week so important?” He pushed gently, attempting to ease you into giving him more of an answer.
You swallowed thickly, “Because, you know, it’s like, the last summer we’re all gonna be together for the carnival.” When you finally said it, the idea of your fixation on it seemed impossibly childish and overdone.
Yoonbin moved to turn his body towards you, watching as you sceptically mirrored his action, your knees pressing against his. “So, what’s the importance of the carnival? Did I miss something in the weeks I’ve spent here?” He joked lightly, making a small bubble of confusion move through you, unsure of where this sudden personality change had come from.
The smallest of laughs passed your lips as you shook your head, “It’s, we’ve just spent every summer here since we were little kids, right? And now, well now everyone’s moving on, and we’re…we’re not gonna spend every summer here anymore.” You mumbled, your eyes glazing over slightly as you grew flustered at your own sensitivity to the subject, looking down to the floor.
Yoonbin tilted his head at you, letting you know he evidently had more questions to ask, “I mean, this might be the last summer we’ll spend at this god awful carnival,” he began, a laugh moving past the lump in your throat and into the air around you as he smiled for a moment. “But it’s not like we’re never gonna see one another again. We’ll all still be best friends.”
A tear slipped its way down your cheek as you looked back at him, “That’s what everyone says, and then they leave and stop talking to one another anyway.”
Shaking his head, Yoonbin pulled his hoodie to cover his thumb and leant forward to swipe the tear off your face. “None of us want that, though, so it won’t happen.”
His assurance made you tilt your head at him, “You don’t know that.”
He shrugged lightly in response, breathing out a laugh, “You can’t know much about the future, though, can you? I know that I’ll do what I can to not let that happen, and that’s all that matters.”
This made you smile softly before the slightly bitter realisation that the people he was referring to as his friends didn’t extend to you. You’d expected things to change after that night at the party, you’d assumed you’d both be fine with one another, and that because he’d been so kind then he’d be like that with you afterwards. He hadn’t been. Another moment like that wasn’t likely to cause much more of a change.
“You know,” you began carefully, reaching to knock his hand just slightly with your own, “I think, one day in the far future when you’re married and you have kids and the perfect life created for yourself, you’re gonna remember me, and you’re gonna miss me, so much.” You mumbled, almost to yourself.
Yoonbin wanted to recoil, to be visibly angry with the notion that he’d even be able to forget you of all people in the first place. But he couldn’t really say your perception of how he felt towards you was an unjustified one. “I’m…I know I will.”
You linked your pinkie with his in a rush of confidence, “Can I ask you a question now?” He nodded, glancing down at your interlocked pinkies as you began speaking, “Why do you hate me so much?”
He shut his eyes tightly, hearing Doyoung’s voice when he’d told him that this situation would happen eventually. “I don’t hate you, ___, I really don’t.”
Humming softly, you rephrased your question, “Why are you always so angry with me, then?”
At this, he smiled a little, “Do you remember when we got like this?” His voice had dropped back to a whisper, watching as you shook your head, curiosity lighting up your eyes in the dark. “I didn’t think you did,” he sighed softly, dropping his head back for a minute before he started talking again, “I…I met you all with Doyoung for the first time, right? And, okay, look, I know I always look like I’m constantly angry but…I’m really not, and I guess, I guess you thought I didn’t like you, so you started making these little offhand comments…” he let himself trail off, wincing softly as you sat yourself up properly, your hand slipping away from his.
He wondered if he should apologise for telling you, but you interrupted him, “I’m sorry,” you started, “oh my god, that was so mean of me. I’m…Yoonbin, I’m really sorry.”
Laughing a little, he didn’t move from his place, “It’s okay, really, it is, I…I took it too far, really. I shouldn’t have kept acting like that when you stopped retaliating. I just, I don’t know, felt like I had to.”
At this, you tilted your head at him, “Why would you have to?”
Yoonbin cleared his throat, glancing over at the door where the noise had gone silent at some point during your conversation, although it remained closed shut. “I…okay, this sounds bad, so hear me out,” he started, “but that night at the party, I followed you upstairs, because I, well I knew you liked that guy, and I’d seen him kiss someone else, so I was gonna, I was just gonna talk to you about how I, about how I’d kinda liked you for a little while…” he paused for a moment, as if trying to check your reaction. “But, you were so upset, and it didn’t feel like the right time.”
He watched as your face morphed from one of confusion into slightly comical shock, “Do you still feel like that?”
Yoonbin smiled a little, “Yeah,” he kept your eye contact, “I haven’t dealt with this very well, have I?”
A laugh moved from your lips, “No, not really, but it’s okay,” you rose your eyebrows at him, “go on, ask what you really want to.”
Yoonbin shook his head at you, “I don’t expect an answer, I…I kind of expected you to be angry about this. But, it’s a lot to spring on someone, I know that. Take your time giving me an answer.”
You felt a blush heat up your cheeks as you laughed softly, “There’s only four weeks of summer left,” you said, watching as Yoonbin rolled his eyes at you again.
“You’re obsessed with that, aren’t you?” You shrugged, feeling his pinkie intertwine with yours again, “I’m still gonna be here after summer, you know that.”
“What if I move away for school?” You challenged lightly, not even attempting to dance around the fears in your mind.
He rose his eyebrows at you, “You have a phone, don’t you?”
You grinned slightly, “What if I don’t? Would you go back to pretending you hate me?”
“No, I’d just have to write you letters,” he challenged back, his lips turning upwards as your worries seemed to dissipate for the moment.
You laughed lightly, “But,” you began, drawing a groan from him, but it quickly slipped away when he saw the hint of seriousness beginning to find its way onto your features again, “what about when you debut? You’ll be too busy, right?”
His hand moved to grip yours as a slam resounded on the wooden door, a muffled voice calling out to you both gently, and you watched as Yoonbin moved to stand and go back to the door. The same muffled voice from earlier spoke again, “We’re gonna need a different tool, so, it’ll be, about another half an hour, our apologies again. Is everyone still, uh, all okay in there?”
Yoonbin laughed gently, looking over at your form still on the floor, “Yeah, yeah, we’re all good.” He moved back to sit beside you again, raising his eyebrows for a moment, “you’re still okay, right?”
You nodded gently, observing Yoonbin intently as he moved slowly to cup your face impossibly lightly, “It’s probably a bad time for me to kiss you, right?” He asked quietly, watching as you nodded in response, a grin curling your lips up, “you don’t care, do you?” You shook your head at him, feeling him pull your face closer to his as your lips met. The kiss was timid, his lips brushing against your own in a feather-light way as it didn’t gain in speed or desperation.
He pulled himself back after a moment, smiling at you brightly before speaking, “Don’t, don’t overthink this, okay? I like you, and you like me, that’s all that matters. We’ll just, cross those bridges when we get to them.”
A smile met your features are you nodded slowly at him, curling yourself closer to him while he leant his back against the wall again. “Is there anything else you need you get off your chest? This seems like it’s given us a good opportunity to fix some personal issues.” He said softly, his arm draping across your shoulders.
You laughed again, “Hm, don’t think so. Do you?”
“Actually,” he started, looking down at you as you caught his line of sight, “I have a question about Jihoon,” he began.
“Oh, I can’t help you with that,” you interrupted, dropping your head back onto his shoulder.
He hummed slightly in response, “I…I’m not so sure anyone really can.” He retorted, leaning his head to rest against yours as the room fell into a mix of attempted comfortable conversation that would be met with the sound of metal tools scraping against wood outside the little room.

❀ ❀ ❀
I woke with a jolt.
I uncrossed my arms and looked around at my surroundings. It was raining hard and darkness was still surrounding me, meaning it was night time.
I eased myself down, feeling nothing around me.
Until I heard shouting to my right. My heart beat faster at the intense fear of being found by my father. But, my father would never look for me.
“Y/n! OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!”
Wait... I recognize that voice.
I quickly unlocked my side door and Yoonbin came flying in, soaking wet and all. I groaned and scooted away from him as the coldness oozed off of him.
Then, after the disgust, shock suck in.
“What are you doing out here? You should be home.” He deadpanned like he didn’t just walk to me in the pouring rain, and only God knows how the boy found me.
My jaw was still dropped in confusion while the boy just wanted an answer.
“Y/n, what are you-”
“How did you find me?” I interrupted. I was immensely confused and this whole night has been....something else.
Yoonbin sighed and wrapped himself in his wet coat. I rolled my eyes and took off his jacket, which surprised him.
“Start talking.” I snapped. The boy gulped and started to spill.
“Ok, after I hung up the phone, I was so mad at you that I wanted to talk to you face to face so I took off to your house. That’s when your dad answered the door, telling me that you left and didn’t live there anymore. So I asked him on places you would be and then... he shut the door on me so I went searching myself.” I nodded slowly, barely comprehending his words.
“Wait, where is your car then?” The boy gave me a cheeky smile.
“Um, I had to drive back home so that my parents would think I was home...” He trailed off, scratching his head while doing so. I almost let out a laugh.
We sat there in silence as he was now sitting in a short sleeve shirt and dirtying my entire passenger seat.
“I’m not going back home.” I stated with a stern look. “You can’t make me.” I mumbled the last line. The boy stayed silent.
“Fine. I know a place, let me drive.” He tried to get into the drivers seat but I pushed him away. “Yoonbin, dude-”
“Just trust me on this!” He was too strong for me and pulled me over to the soaking wet passenger seat. I closed my eyes at the disgusting, irritating feeling. My back and butt were all wet thanks to Yoonbin. I opened my eyes and saw the boy grinning back at me.
“Fine, I have no where else to go, I guess.” The boy said nothing to my grumbling but instead started up the car. We drove in silence through the night sky and pouring rain.
Soon, he pulled into a driveway, leaving me to raise a brow. The house wasn’t too big, but wasn’t too small. It looked like a normal suburban house in the area. I raised a brow at him.
“Where are we?” Yoonbin smiled and shrugged his shoulders.
“We’re at ... my house.”
My jaw dropped in surprise. The boy got out of the car and then grabbed my bag for me. Quickly, he came to my side and opened the door for me. I squinted my eyes at him, but got out of the car anyways.
“I didn’t know you were so much of a gentleman.” I joked to hide my racing heartbeat at the sight of his home.
What would his parents think of me staying over? What would they assume of me when they see their son drenched in water? Or what would they think of my tear-stained face? What would-
“Don’t worry, my parents are really nice people.” Yoonbin ushered me forward and opened the door quietly. He poked his head in, and then waved me forward.
I didn’t think he would wave me forwards if his entire family was sitting in the living room.
But he did.
And now they were all staring at me.
I recognized their faces vaguely and nodded and bowed to them.
“Oh? Yoonbin? You weren’t home? Who’s this?” His mom bombarded him with questions until she saw him soaking wet. “OH MY GOODNESS! I’ll go get towels!” The shorter woman sprinted away as Yoonbin gave me a gummy smile.
His dad stood and walked over to me. I felt my palms go sweaty and my head go numb. I felt Yoonbin grasp my hand gently and squeezed it.
Yoonbin’s dad was now right in front of me, his expression unreadable. He lifted his hand, causing my body to go into a frenzy.
He’s going to hit you. He’s going to hit you. He’s going to hit you.
Surprisingly, he patted my shoulder and peered down at me with a concerned look.
“Sweetie, are you okay? Do you need some water or clean clothes? Or some food? We can heat up leftovers.”
My body froze and my throat closed up, unable to speak.
“We just had some fried chicken, an easy meal. It’ll be real easy.” His dad continued, taking his hand off my shoulder.
Yoonbin squeezed my hand gently which zapped me back into reality.
“N-no sir, I’m fine. I just ate not too long ago.” Lies. I hadn’t eaten dinner or breakfast today. But I didn’t have much of an appetite anyways.
Yoonbin’s dad laughed. “Just call me Mr. Ha. And if you change your mind, just take whatever you want from the fridge.” I nodded and thanked him.
Suddenly, Yoonbin’s mom came flying down the steps with a bunch of towels in her hand.
“Here, here, dry yourselves.” She threw a towel at her son, then one at me. I caught it clumsily as Yoonbin had to retract his hand. “Why are you all wet, Ha Yoonbin! You’re going to get a cold! And in the middle of the summer!” She tsked. I bit my lip to hide my laughter when Yoonbin just rolled his eyes.
Then, his mom turned to me. “Sweetie, if you need something, just call us. First, you both need a change of clothes.” She shoved a pile of clothes at me. “Here, these are Yoonbin’s sister’s clothes who is currently working in Germany. And Yoonbin will show you to the bathroom.”
She glared at the boy, but then smiled. I opened to my mouth to protest, but she was already pulling me away to follow Yoonbin. The boy tilted his head in the direction he wanted me to go.
“Here, you can use my room. I’ll just change in the bathroom in there since I need to dump all the wet clothes in bathtub anyways.” I nodded and stepped into his room.
It was exactly how I imagined. The walls were a dark blue, close to black, and there were posters of random bands hung around. The only light source besides the lights on the ceiling was a black lamp that was seated on his desk. Clothes was flung around and I almost tripped on his t-shirt that was lying on the ground.
“Sorry, I’m a bit messy.” He scratched the back of his neck and blushed. I shrugged and gave him a small smile. “It’s the first time I’ve brought a girl home, so sorry they’re all doting on you.”
That surprised me.
Yoonbin was anti-social as an anti-social person could be, but he was an attractive dude. He had fierce features and a smile that made me melt. His humor was dry and he could be quite annoying, but he did have a caring side even if he didn’t want to admit it.
I mean he was letting me stay at his house.
“It’s fine, it’s the first time I’ve been doted on.” I said honestly. We awkwardly stood and stared at each other until Yoonbin cleared his throat.
“I’m going to get changed now, um, I’ll knock before I come in.”
I nodded and he gave me a tight smile before disappearing into the bathroom. I looked down at the clothes his mom had given me. I pulled on the simple black leggings and the red t-shirt that hung nicely on my body. I then felt the t-shirt stick uncomfortably to my body because of the wetness, so I stripped it off and dried my torso with the towel.
Suddenly, I heard Yoonbin knock on the bathroom door.
“Wait-”
Before I could respond, the boy opened the door, his eyes immediately landing on shirtless body. His eyes widened and I could see him visibly gulp.
I raised a brow and cocked my head.
“Yoonbin, what was the point of knocking if you were going to open the door before I could speak?” I teased. The boy turned beet red and shrugged.
“Um, I thought you would be done.” He finally tore his eyes from my body. “C-can you please put on a shirt now?” He stuttered out, breaking his cold facade. I decided to tease him a little more. I left my shirt on the bed and took long strides towards him.
He tried to look everywhere but my body.
He’s so cute.
I reached out and pulled him closer, inhaling the smell of his fresh clothes. I brought my head closer to his neck, breathing softly for only him to hear.
“Y/n, please, don’t-” He whispered quietly in a small voice. I ignored him and softly kissed his neck. His whole body turned stiff and his hands clenched, willing himself to stay still. “Please.”
Then, I raised my hand and flicked him on the forehead. “OW! What the fuck!?”
I laughed and pulled the t-shirt over my head.
“I’m starting to think you had ulterior motives bringing me to your house mister Ha Yoonbin.” I scoffed and turned away from him, who was still dazed from our previous encounter. “Yoonbin, c’mon, you can’t be that hot and bothered, if we stay in here too long, your parents will think we’re fooling around up here.”
Yoonbin then snapped out of it and followed me to the door.
“You’re something else.” He mumbled, a blush still apparent on his face. I smirked and shook my head. “And no, I did not have ulterior motives, it was an accident, ok?” I rolled my eyes but before I could say anything, he opened the door to walk downstairs.
Immediately, we ran into his mom.
“Changed already? Good, good. Now, I’m sorry to say this but we don’t have a spare room since we painted it this morning and it’s all stinky and chemical-smelling so you’ll have to stay in Yoonbin’s room, if that’s alright with you.”
I felt my body freeze at those words. What kind of parent would let their child sleep in a room with the opposite sex? Or with anybody really?
“That’s fine.” Yoonbin replied quickly. I almost glared at him. Almost. But instead I nodded at his mom.
“Ah, that’s fine.”
His mom nodded and winked at me. “I trust you guys, but if you do anything, just please, be quiet.”
I felt blood rush to my face in embarrassment and a sudden shyness and wonder in front of his mom.
“Mom! Oh my god, it’s not like that.” Yoonbin shouted with two red blotches on his cheeks. His mom giggled and hit him on the shoulder.
“Just joking!” She winked at me. Oh gosh, she thinks it’s like that. “Oh! We also heat up some fried chicken for you just in case you were hungry!” She picked up the bag she had on the floor and plopped it in my hands.
“Goodnight kids, and nice meeting you y/n.”
“Thanks for letting me stay here.” I said before she could leave. All of a sudden, she got a soft look in her eyes.
“Anytime, honey. Anytime. As a mom, I can’t leave a child lonely. It’s not in our blood.” She patted me softly on the head and nodded to Yoonbin before heading to her room.
I felt my eyes well up with tears at her kind gestures. First they let me stay in their house, then they give me clothes, food, and love.
Something I never received much of.
“C’mon.” Yoonbin guided me to his room and set down the bag of chicken on his table. I wiped my tears hurriedly so he wouldn’t see them, but they were falling out like raindrops.
“Why are you crying?” He whispered gently. I suddenly broke, hearing his soft voice. He wrapped his arms around me, shaking me back and forth to calm me down.
“Your parents... they’re just so nice.” I cried out. I felt the boy pat me on the back slowly. His hug was tight, yet I could tell he was scared of breaking me. I pushed him away slightly to wipe my face with the tissues he gave me.
Yoonbin gave me a gentle smile. “They are.” He rubbed the back of my head gently and pressed his lips against it as well.
“Um, m-my dad... he.” I took a deep breath, unable to finish my story. He then patted my back softly. “It’s fine, I don’t have to know if you don’t feel comfortable or ready to tell me. I’ll be here for you.”
I felt more tears spill onto the floor with his words.
“Do you wanna eat the chicken now or tomorrow morning?” My stomach felt like it was going to eat itself, but my eyes felt like they were going to shut any minute.
“Tomorrow.” I whispered. He nodded and placed it in the bathroom so we wouldn’t be able to smell it.
He started to take some blankets and set them on the ground.
“What are you doing?” I questioned out loud. He looked at me like I was dumb.
“Um, setting up a makeshift bed.” I shook my head and stopped him. “No, I don’t sleep with that many blankets, I’ll be fine.” Yoonbin gave me a weird look before laughing.
“Y/n, I’m sleeping on the ground. You’re sleeping on the bed.” My eyes widened in surprise while he pinched my cheek. “You’re so cute.” He mumbled.
I pretended to ignore that, unable to say anything when he was the one teasing me.
“Are you sure? I don’t mind sleeping on the ground.” Yoonbin rolled his eyes, not even listening to my words. “Positive. Now sleep, you look like you’ve aged 60 years from just today.” I rolled my eyes, but I knew he was right.
Soon, Yoonbin rolled in his bed and stopped moving. I bundled up in his bed, inhaling his scent on it. I wiggled around on the bed, feeling like I was sleeping on clouds.
“Thank you, Yoonbin. For everything.” I whispered, not thinking he could hear me.
A few moments later, I heard him whisper back “you’re welcome”.
❀ ❀ ❀
I woke up to a loud alarm.
It wasn’t even a song, it was just a loud beeping noise.
“Yoonbin, turn it off!” I whisper-shouted. The boy groaned and searched for his phone. I rolled out of bed and sighed. “Do we have school today?” The boy yawned and nodded.
I laid back in bed. “Can’t I just skip?” I mumbled. Yoonbin pulled me out and shook his head with a grin.
“Nope.” He guided me towards the bathroom and took something out of his cabinet. “That’s a spare toothbrush. You’re welcome to use it.”
Suddenly, I broke into my normal routine, feeling at ease with Yoonbin by my side.
I decided to go to school in the clothes Yoonbin’s mom gave to me.
I already knew school was going to be hell, like it always was, but I felt better with Yoonbin with me. He made me feel safe, secure, and like I had a friend.
“Ok, first things first, no one can know we’re living together. And second, nothing has changed about us now that we live together, ok? If we stick together like glue, people will definitely think we are dating. And that cannot happen.” Yoonbin spat. I felt my heart hurt at his harsh words.
What would be so wrong with dating me?
I didn’t bother to ask and just nodded my head, trying to hide the sadness in my face.
Do something y/n would do, don’t be sad.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head. “Okay weirdo, I’ll stay away from you. I do owe you one anyways.” Yoonbin nodded, almost surprised that I agreed so easily.
As we walked towards the school, Yoonbin walked a bit faster than me. I felt empty once he left my side.
Soon, Yedam and Jihoon caught up with him. I swear, these boys come out of nowhere. Jihoon then looked back to me and waved. I gave him an awkward wave back.
“Hey, y/n, how’re you doing?” Jihoon asked. I was confused for a second, wondering if Yoonbin told him my homeless situation.
Yedam nodded rapidly. “Oh yeah, that hit you took to Yoonbin’s body was pretty bad, as well as that fall. Are you better now?”
Oh, they were talking about that.
I laughed and nodded. “Oh yeah, I feel fine now. It wasn’t really too bad when I got hit, more surprising than anything.” That answer seemed to calm the two boys.
“Hey, Yoonbin!” Suddenly, a girl popped in front of Yoonbin. “Did you do that homework sheet from Mrs. Hong over the weekend? It was absolute torture.” A girl I noted who was in my computer science class asked him. She had long brown hair and big doe eyes. She was stunning, but also nerdy. Probably more of Yoonbin’s type than me.
The boy smiled goofily and put his hands in his pockets. “Uh yeah, it was terrible. I hated every second of it.” The girl laughed and held his arm while she did, something girls did when they liked a guy.
“Yeah, like she wants us to fail or something! Anyways, you going to the skate park this weekend? I mean.. I know you went on Friday but...” Her eyes flickered over to me and suddenly, I felt awkward.
Yoonbin’s eyes followed her’s and he shook his head rapidly. “Oh no, we’re not together. That was an accident, uh, she fell on me. You know Changbin, he’s clumsy and accidentally tripped her. I barely know her.” The girl laughed and brought her hand to his arm again. I felt my blood boil as he looked at her with kind eyes.
“Oh that’s funny! Anyways, see you later today then?” He nodded rapidly and I saw him gulp nervously. The bell rang and she took his hand.
“Of course. Um, let me walk you to class.” He mumbled.
Then they were gone.
Yedam and Jihoon were still on both sides of me, watching the same scene play out in front of me.
“Y/n, he doesn’t like her, not really, he’s just-” I held up my hand and rubbed the back of my neck. Jihoon looked at me with sad eyes.
“It’s fine, I know he didn’t think of me that way anyways. I didn’t expect anything.” I lied. I thought our entire relationship had changed over night.
I was wrong.
I barely know her. I heard his words echo throughout my mind.
I felt tears sting my eyes but I blinked them away.
“Whatever, let’s just get this day over with.” I walked ahead of the boys who were obviously distressed, but I had no time to ease other’s pain when I didn’t know how to ease my own.
❀ ❀ ❀
Lunch rolled around soon enough. I walked into the lunchroom, seeing Yoonbin, Yedam and Jihoon laughing and gooding around a their table.
I grabbed my tray of food and started to walk over to them.
“Hey, guys! What’s up?” The same girl came out of nowhere and sat at their table. Yedam and Jihoon’s faces brightened immediately, easing her into their conversation. It was a very different experience when I had sat at their table.
I felt my heart drop as they laughed with her, talked with her, and welcomed her as their own. Yoonbin’s face was smiley and giggling with her. As it should be.
People like her, smart, kind, bubbly girls deserved to be with boys like Yoonbin. She was someone who could make him smile. Someone who could bring him out of his shell.
I turned around, tears threatening to fall from my eyes, and dumped my tray in the trash.
And then I ran out the back door of the building.
❀ ❀ ❀
He never liked you. You can’t really be mad at him.
I chanted in my head.
I just ditched school and I felt amazing about it. The warm air hit my shoulders as summer was approaching.
It was a beautiful day.
It was unfortunate my mood was so sad.
I felt a buzz in my pocket and I pulled out my phone.
‘where were you during lunch?’ -yoonbin
‘on a walk outside’ I lied.
‘...why didn’t you sit with us?’
‘i thought you told me to leave you alone.’
I saw him typing which made my anxiety buildup.
‘i didn’t think you would listen’
‘well now im listening, aren’t you supposed to be thinking me?’ I snapped over text. I saw the familiar dots appear.
‘well ... thanks i guess’
I didn’t bother responding.
❀ ❀ ❀
I found myself walking back to Yoonbin’s house for some odd reason. I sighed and saw my car sitting in the driveway. I thought about how easy it would just to run away.
“Y/n? Hey, what are you doing back so early?” I jumped up at the voice. I turned and saw Yoonbin’s mom staring at me with a smile on her face. “Doesn’t school end in a couple more hours?”
I felt my mind try to cough up some lies. “Oh yeah, I had a bad headache after lunch so I decided to go home. I couldn’t focus anyways.” I lied. His mom frowned.
She brought her hand up to my forehead. “You’re warm, must be getting a fever.” She sighed and opened the door for me. “You should’ve told Yoonbin to drive you home. He doesn’t focus in class anyways.” I chuckled and shook my head.
“It’s fine. I don’t feel too bad.” She sighed and patted me on the back. “Go get some rest honey.” I turned walk to Yoonbin’s room, but turned back around.
“Um, by the way, thank you a lot for letting me stay here. I’ll be out your hair soon.” Instead of saying ‘you’re welcome’ quickly, the woman stared at me until I started to feel holes in my face.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with your home life, but I could never let you go home knowing you aren’t safe.” She then took my hands and patted them gently. “You’re welcome to stay as long as you like. I know Yoonbin seems like a pain in the booty, but he’s really a nice kid. You’re the first girl he has taken home, and he rarely even lets his guy friends in the house. He’s quite secretive like that.” She winked at me and then shooed me along. “Now rest child.”
I nodded and fell face flat into Yoonbin’s bed, trying to hold back my tears.
From the sadness, anger, and happiness all surrounding me.
“Go to your room.”
“Why?! I want to eat chocolate cake!” The cake was swiped off the table immediately. I gasped and tried not to shrink back in fear, but it didn’t work.
“You don’t deserve cake! You’re getting bad grades in all your classes! And you’re only 8 years old, you’ll be a disappointment when you’re older. GO!” My father yelled at me. His face turned red and spit splattered all over the floor.
I started to cry and ran to my room.
I felt myself cry at the memory, hoping I had found a better family.
❀ ❀ ❀
“Get up!” I felt the blanket being stripped away from me, making me shiver at the air. “GET UP!” I felt someone shaking me, which made me roll over.
“Why are you waking me up?” I asked numbly.
Yoonbin tsked and tried to sit me up. “You’re going to get sick germs all over my bed, my mom said you were sick. And I hate when sick people sleep in my bed.” I rolled my eyes and stumbled out of the bed. I could feel my forehead was burning when his cold hand pressed against my face.
“You have a damn fever. Ugh, you ruin everything!” I stood in silence as Yoonbin threw his sheets off his bed. “First, you ruin my perfectly normal, humble life and make it a big shit show! Then you ruin my afternoon with a girl that is actually normal?! What did I even do to deserve this?” He spat, falling on his bed. He covered his face with his hands.
I didn’t know how to respond as I was feeling groggy. I guess lying about being sick gets me sick. Karma.
“First of all, I didn’t ruin anything of yours. Second, why didn’t you just go out with that girl!? It’s not like I was stopping you!” I shouted. He stumbled at my volume. He then stood and glared down at me.
“Because my mom said that you were fucking sick! And that I had to come take care of you like you’re a baby or something!”
“Well, I didn’t ask you to be here so why don’t you just leave!?” I felt my head throb at every word I said and every word I heard.
Yoonbin laughed maniacally. “Leave?! This is my house, y/n, if you didn’t know!”
I grabbed my keys and said, “fine, then I’m leaving. I can’t stay here and look at you!” I turned towards the door but he jumped in front of me.
Usually, I let him do this, but this time, I shoved him out of the way and glared at him. “Why?” I whispered suddenly, shocking even me.
He furrowed his brows at me. “Why what?”
“Why did you even let me stay here?”
The boy shrugged and avoided my gaze. “I don’t know. I really don’t but I regret it now.”
I pulled my lips together and scrunched my nose around. It felt like neither of us were breathing and the only thing I heard were out heartbeats, or just mine.
Then, I sighed and opened the door.
“Fine then.”
His parents were nowhere in sight when I left the house.
“Y/n, what are you doing?”
“LEAVING, DUMBASS, WHAT DO YOU THINK?” I shouted loudly, letting my feelings out. He looked distraught at me moving to get in the car.
“Wait, wait! Just wait, just listen!” He tried to stop me, but I shoved him away. Tears filled my eyes as he stared at me with sad eyes.
“Just stop, Yoonbin. Haven’t you done enough? You’re already ignoring me at school, don’t you realize I have no friends? No family? No one!? I literally have no one but you right now and...” I shrugged while laughing.
“And that’s nowhere to being enough.” I said softly. I stood against the car, willing my tears away. I looked up at Yoonbin, and he wasn’t even shedding a tear.
“Goodbye, Yoonbin.”
I got in my car and drove away.
And he didn’t try and stop me.
❀ ❀ ❀
I didn’t know where I was going.
I drove aimlessly in the cold air with a throbbing headache and tears falling down my eyes.
I drove until my hands hurt.
And I drove until my gas ran out.
“Shit!” I yelled while hitting my steering wheel. I pulled over quickly and parked at an abandoned skate park.
Of course, it just had to be a skate park. Just another thing to remind me of Yoonbin.
It was pitch black at this point and I hadn’t eaten anything in two days. I was going to die and I wasn’t even sure if that was going to be a problem with me.
I hit my head. No, don’t think like that. Don’t ever think like that.
I pulled out a blanket I always kept in my backseat and leaned my chair back.
I was always alone. I had to do things alone. How did I ever think I would get a stable family with a stable life?
I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
❀ ❀ ❀
I only had enough money for gas.
I had enough juice in my phone to look up the nearest gas station and filled up my tank. I was sad to see I hadn’t gotten any messages from Yoonbin or even Jihoon, anyone, but it was expected.
Everyone pushed me out of their lives anyways.
“Hey girlie, you driving out here alone?” I fought the urge to roll my eyes.
“Yes I am.” I said curtly while getting back in my car. I drove off before he could do anything else.
I looked in my wallet and saw the 5 dollar bill and a few quarters.
I had to go back. I had to set down my pride and do what was right for my health. No longer my mental health, but my physical.
I drove back on the same road, regretting every second I was driving.
I parked my car and got out. I placed my hand on my chest before knocking on the door. I felt my heartbeat pick up as I waited for a response.
In about one minute, the door opened.
I swallowed my scream as my father pulled me inside
❀ ❀ ❀
He was sober.
I wish he was drunk.
He got clumsy when he was drunk.
He was precise when he was sober.
I felt a hit on my head, making me fall to the ground. I gasped at the pain. It hurt 10 times worse when I was sick.
“YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST LEAVE AND THEN COME BACK? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?” He grabbed my flimsy sleeve and pushed me backwards, making me hit the counter. I hissed in pain at the sound of my shoulder hitting the marble.
“YOU COULDN’T EVEN SURVIVE ON YOUR OWN, YOU’RE WEAK. AND STUPID!” He laughed in my face while clutching his knuckles. I felt another slap hit my face, causing me to bite my tongue.
Beginner’s move.
I spat the blood on the ground out of instinct.
“YOU ANIMAL, THAT’S DISGUSTING! CLEAN IT UP!” He picked me up by my hair and made me stare at him. I tried to ignore the dirt caked underneath his fingernails as he slid them against my face.
I held in my tears, but they came naturally at the pain.
“Crying? How pathetic.” He spoke sternly. I tried to hide them, but it was no use. He already saw. “I didn’t raise someone so pathetic.”
I left my pepper-spray and taser at Yoonbin’s house.
I teared up even harder, knowing he wasn’t even looking for me. He was probably glad I was gone. I coughed loudly, trying to hide my sobs.
I felt him drop me on the ground and followed by kicking me. I grunted at the pain. He kicked me again.
And again.
And I don’t know how many times.
I felt my vision blur and I lost count if it was him hitting me or was it me just imagining the kick as they came at a constant pace.
I closed my eyes, feeling the fight in me give up.
Right at that moment, a bright light blinded me and I flinched to avoid it.
I felt no more kicks as I heard grunting and ringing in my ears. I felt someone pick me up and carry me away. Like I was floating in the air.
“You’re okay, you’re okay.” Someone yelled in my face.
“You’re going to be okay.” The same voice said.
“Y-yoonbin?” I mumbled out. I caught a glimpse of the face as I pried open my eyes.
“No, it’s Jihoon.”
Then.
It.
All.
Went.
Black.
❀ ❀ ❀
White.
All I saw was white.
Being in the darkness for so long, you forget what the color looks like.
“She’s awake, she’s fine. No major injuries.” A feminine but stern voice said.
My vision was blurry as I tried to force my eyes open.
“Ssh, don’t force yourself.” The soft voice said once more. I blinked rapidly and suddenly a full force of colors came flying at me.
I saw a smiling Jihoon staring down at me.
I couldn’t help but smile back.
“I’m so glad you’re okay.” He mumbled while patting my head brotherly. I tried to give him a small smile, but it came out forced.
“Thank you.” I whispered. He nodded. I looked around the room and saw Yoonbin’s parents sitting there. I gave them a small smile as his mom patted my leg.
“I’m glad you’re safe now. You almost gave us a heart-attack.” The woman tried to keep her tone hushed, but it still came out kind of loud.
“He’s in the bathroom.”
I stared at Jihoon.
“Yoonbin, he’s in the bathroom.”
I felt a rise of nervousness run through my body at the name.
Soon enough, the door flung open.
Yoonbin stood and stared at me with wide eyes. He was wearing a baby blue sweater and looked like he hadn’t slept in a few days.
As we locked eyes, I felt the whole world stop.
“Um, we will be waiting outside.” Yoonbin’s dad said as the three of them stepped outside.
Yoonbin took careful steps towards me, like he was afraid of me running away.
I scoffed. “You’re being too cautious, it’s not like you.” I joked.
Suddenly, tears started to flow down his face. He sat down in the chair next to me and held my hand tightly. I didn’t tell him it hurt; he seemed to need the comfort more than me.
“Yoonbin-”
“I’m sorry.” He breathed out. His speaking was deeper than usual and he had to force words out. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” He chanted while tugging at my hands a little harder. “I should’ve-” I held up my hand to stop him.
“Stop right there. You can’t change what already happened.” I said sternly. He didn’t seem comforted by my words as his tears fell harder.
“I’m sorry.” He buried his head on my stomach. I patted his head gently as he sobbed even harder.
As he pulled away, he cleared his throat, needing to tell me something.
So I took the change to speak first.
“Why did you flirt with that girl?” I deadpanned.
He paused and wondered who I was talking about. “Oh, you mean Sooyoung? I don’t know, I guess I... I don’t know... good practice?” I rolled my eyes at his dumb answer.
“Then why didn’t you flirt with me?” He calmly looked in my eyes as he told me the answer.
“Because... it feels too real when I flirt with you.”
We said nothing for a few moments, enjoying each other’s company as well as wondering what the other was thinking.
Then, he grasped my hand tightly. “Y/n, I know I’ve been a jerk to you, and an asshole, and just a dumbass, but...” He took a deep breath, like he as struggling to say the words. I’ll admit, I was amused. “But I realize now that I like you, and a lot. And I know I’m bad at showing my feelings, but this is all so new to me and I’ve been a jerk, but I’m willing to change.”
He cleared his throat and looked me in the eyes.
“So, um, yeah, I like you. What is your response?” He said awkwardly. I gave him a small, yet sad, smile.
“Yoonbin...” I trailed off which made him flinch. “I like you too...” He gave me a tight smile which broke my heart.
“I hear a but coming...”
“But I just can’t right now... you’ve hurt me so many times, Yoonbin. So many. Not even romantically, but also as a friend. So right now I just can’t, I’m sorry.” I spoke softly, careful to speak my words gently.
His head was down for a second, but he lifted it slowly with a sad smile.
“I expected that. I know I was a douche.” I nodded. “Totally.” I agreed.
We laughed about it until he looked at me seriously.
“Ok, you might not trust me now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn to trust me.” I raised a brow and slunk back in my bed.
“I’m going to fight for you. Just like how you tried to fight for me and tried to get me to be your friend. It’s my turn to fight for you
because you deserve to be fought for.” He sounded proud as he said those words, like he really meant them. There was a competitive glint in his eyes which meant he was serious.
I held in my tears at his passionate words, but a few dropped from my eyes.
He wiped the stray tears, yet some still stained the white bed.
“Do you really mean that?” I whispered softly. He smiled.
“I mean it. One thousand percent. I’ll make sure you’ll come back to me, you’re too good for me to lose.” He said cockily. I let out a burst of laughter and ruffled his hair.
“I’m holding you to that, skater boy.” He nodded and held my head close to his.
“I never liked skater boys anyways. Do you think you can change my mind on that too?”
“I promise.”

what about a bullet about breaking up with yoonbin or jihoon
p.s i’ll be doing this request first then the apocalypse!au request since its finals week so im kinda busy so lets obtain this grain
breaking up w yoonbin:
it all happened so fast
to think of it, it was neither of the two of you who caused it to happen
he was busy being a trainee and you just missed him so much
‘maybe he was stressed and got caught up in the moment’ was all you thought about
or ‘maybe he doesn’t love me anymore’
those thoughts kept you you up at night till this day
of course it had to happen inside your apartment where your memories with yoonbin lingered
you noticed he grew,, distant over the past month
barely talking about anything
his kisses felt,,, empty?? emotionless??
his main reason on why he comes over so late is that he got caught up in practice
which you thought was a lie since,, junkyu posts on his secret sns account literally every second of the day
and due to your frustrations with everything, you decided to ask him abt his whereabouts
and he blew up
he started accusing you that you didn’t trust him enough
“why are you so goddamn paranoid?!”
“i just fucking miss you. is it wrong to miss my fucking boyfriend?!”
“can’t you fucking see i’m busy?!”
“yeah but does it hurt just to check in every once in a while?! that’s all i fucking asked”
“well maybe we should just break up!”
and thats when your world, shut down
his own words surprised him too
he didn’t mean it
but the damage was done
you quietly escaped the living room where it all happened
and went inside your room, locking the door
embarrassed with himself, he decides to not show his face to you ever again
even if it pains him to realize that his daily routine would be switching up real soon
the end
breaking up w jihoon
you guys were the typical high school lovers that EVERYONE knew
jihoon was the sporty, all rounder dude that everyone is friends with
and you were also the person everyone was friends with and one of the school top notchers
it was no shocker to everyone that you two ended up together
i mean, y’all were perfect and shit
you two were two puzzles who made each other complete
visibly, you and jihoon grew together
you two helped one another and it was such a cute and #relationshipgoals kind of relationship
though, all good things come to an end
it SHOCKED everybody that you two broke up
so suddenly
it was end of senior year where everyone was busy applying to college and getting their lives together
at one point someone noticed that jihoon barely pick you up after class
or y’all dont come to the library after school to study
or y’all interacting at all
and thus, gossips came around like how jihoon cheated on you or you couldn’t take how he had so many girl friends and yeah
but nope
you two denied every rumor there was
the main reason you two broke up was because of college
and the long distance
jihoon knew you are going places
and so is he
you remember the time you found out you got accepted to your dream college
but you didn’t tell jihoon
jihoon got a scholarship too but he told you right away
it was your mom who broke the news to him that you got accepted to your dream school
lets just say, that date night didn’t end up well
you two were screaming your heads off
“why didn’t you tell me?” - jihoon
“i was–“
“when? when you’re leaving the next day? is that how you wanted it to happen?” - hoon
“jihoon.. it isn’t like that...”
“then what is it?”
and things turned into the worse
you two decided you two should just break it off for the best
you couldn’t handle long distance and neither did he
you two promised to remain as close friends tho
but it surely wasn’t happening anytime soon

2 - focused on you
SUMMARY: Yoonbin is the school’s ice prince while you’re the typical struggling student. What happens when you two start living together?
part 1
••
When you got to Hyunsuk’s house the party had already started, music blaring through the roof. Yeeun promptly left you to get drinks so you sit on the couch, watching some seniors absolutely destroy some drake song. You hum along to the song, swaying your legs back and forth as Yeeun comes running back, handing you a vodka redbull. You take a large sip, alcohol burning in the back of your throat. Yeeun is already scanning the room for Katie. Katie and Yeeun have been dating for three weeks and Yeeun already says she’s the one. You were doubtful, but you let her have her fun. This is college after all.

You realized you were wasted after your 6th drink.
‘Watch me!’ you yell, slamming your drink onto the counter.
You only realize the meaning of your words after you’re walking towards the stage and grabbing the mic. Yeeun had started the very dangerous game of truth or dare and you had been dared to perform. Although you were a music major, you had never performed at school yet. People judged you enough already, you didn’t want to make it worse.
Your knees are shaky as you walk over to Hyunsuk, whispering your song choice in his ear. Yoonbin entered the room as you started bouncing to the beat of the song.
And every time we touch, boy, you make me feel weak
I can tell you're shy and I think you're so sweet
Spending every night under covers and
Still I wonder, could you fall for a woman like me
Yoonbin felt something warm up inside him as he watched you perform. It was like the music followed you instead of you following the music. Even the rap was executed perfectly. He looks around as the crowd starts cheering for you. Yeeun is even more elated, jumping back and forth as she dances along with Katie.
As you finished your performance, you bowed slightly, still in a daze. Adrenaline coursed through your veins as you jumped off the stage, running towards Yeeun who pulled you into a tight hug. After celebrating your impromptu performance with a few more shots, you go out onto Hyunsuk’s balcony. Getting some air would probably help you sober up.
As you walk out, you see Yoonbin on the balcony. He lifts his can of beer up as a greeting and you smile.
‘That was quite the performance roomie. I didn’t know you had it in you.’ he smirks.
‘Thank you, although I don’t think I could’ve done it if I wasn’t drunk.’ you laugh.
‘Nah, I think that was all you.’ he points at you.
‘Do you smoke?’ he asks, taking out a lighter.
‘Uh no I don’t’ you mutter, playing with your fingers.
He shrugs, placing the cigarette in his mouth. You’ve never had a thing for smoking or smokers but seeing Yoonbin smoke was like an out of body experience. His long fingers grip onto the blunt with elegance. His posture screams nonchalance as he leans back, blowing smoke out.
A comfortable silence settles in the air as you watch Yoonbin smoke, head tilted and arms crossed onto the balcony's railing. You notice how his skin glows under the moonlight.
‘Not to be intrusive or anything but are you checking me out?’ he asks.
You nod slowly, realizing that nothing you could say would make it less creepy.
‘I don't mind.’ he shrugs, blowing smoke in your face before walking towards the door.
‘See you at home roomie’ he smiles.
-
You end up driving Yeeun and Katie back home in her car because they were way too drunk. As you drive Yeeun's car to your new home, you wonder if Yoonbin really meant what he said. What did that even mean? Does he not mind you thirsting over him because he likes the attention or is he actually interested in you? He looked so good it was almost infuriating. Living with Yoonbin was already turning your life upside down and it had only been two days.

I’m Sorry Pt.1
It’s been a while since I’ve posted something, so here you go… Thank you for reading this quick short scenario aha.
Characters: Park Jihoon (ygtb) x You
Length: 817
Genre: Angsty angst…
NOTE: Sorry for inconvenience but there is a part 2! But it’s in my master list due to Tumblrs stupid bug.
Whispers were coming from the lunchroom when Jihoon entered, everyone heard about your guys break up. Everyone thought Jihoon was the one who broke your heart, and who made you feel miserable, when really it was you who broke his heart. You sat at the table eating your fries, your friends saw you and sat down too, and started whispering about Jihoon. “Oh my god, he showed up today”, “Why is he here? Doesn’t he know he broke our (Y/N)’s heart”, you ignored all the whispers from your friends and continued eating until one girl said something, “wow I guess the rumors were true, Jihoon was nothing but a bad boyfriend”. Your ears perked up and you immediately got up and slapped her face. “Jihoon is not a bad boyfriend, don’t you ever dare say that again,” You said. Everyone looked at you shocked and confused, while Jihoon looked at you with his puffy red eyes, you could tell he cried alot yesterday. You looked away when you made the eye contact and you left the lunchroom with tears strolling down, with the constant repeated phrase, “I’m sorry,”.
It’s not that Jihoon was a bad boyfriend, he was the greatest boyfriend ever, Jihoon was the best thing you could ever ask for. A best friend, but also a boyfriend, it was the best thing you could ever have, but was it something you deserve? He was literally everything you could ever asked for, he spoiled you, he joked around with you, he did everything for you, everything he did was for you and you loved it, but hated it because you could never give anything back in return like he did. You hated how everyone thought Jihoon was the villian and thought he was the worst boyfriend who broke your heart, but the reality was it was you who broke his heart. Jihoon was so caring, he was always smiley, always making sure you were happy, always made sure you eat, and pushed you towards success, he was just too perfect for you.
Everything ended when you decided to call it a quits, Jihoon kept begging and asking why you wanted to quit, he kept blaming himself, assuming he wasn’t enough for you. Jihoon you were always enough. It was me who was never enough, I wished that I could be enough for you, but everything you did for me, I could never because I was always restricted. You were someone I never deserved but I still loved you and wanted you. Jihoon you always deserved better. I was lacking and you weren’t, I was incapable of keeping up, unlike you, always were striving for success. You were my everything, the best person I could ever ask for, but you were someone I just never deserved, because I knew I was never going to be enough. It was best to find someone else better. Jihoon-ah I’m sorry.
After leaving the lunchroom, there was no point going to class, so you ditched and went home crying in your room. You hated showing people that you were sad and crying. Everyone thought you were okay, and you didn’t care. Truth be told, you cared WAY too much, and you weren’t okay. You just despised showing people your weak side, no one wants to be around a sad sobbing girl. Your friends messaged you and asked where you were, and asked if you were okay. You turned your phone off and started sobbing even more, until someone came by and rang your doorbell. You had no motivation to get the door but the person at the door was very determined to make you open that damn door, because they spammed the holy shit out of that doorbell, which did make you answer the door. Opening the door it was Ha Yoonbin, one of your best friends. He scanned from top to bottom and then looked at you and he stepped into your house with no permission and opened up his arms and hugged you, which caused you to ball even more harder. He rubbed your back and patted your back telling you reassuring things, “everything’s going to be okay”, “you’re doing great honey” he said. You couldn’t help but just keep saying “I’m sorry” while crying in to his arms. After 10 minutes of hardcore sobbing, you released and went upstairs into your room, and Yoonbin followed upstairs too. You slipped into bed and he grabbed your chair and sat by the side of your bed.
“Why are you here,” I asked.
“I’m your best friend duh,” He replied.
“I know, but how did you know,” I asked.
“Jihoon, made me check up on you, because he knows how you are,” He sighed.
You took your blanket and covered your face, even after breaking his heart he still cared and acted like a sweetheart. Park Jihoon, I’m sorry.

Sunny Summer || Park Jihoon
♡♡♡♡
Type: Angst/Fluff
Word Count: 4.7K (Lol, I got really carried away)
Warning: Cursing, mature-ish themes (lol, not really) [Not Edited]
Description: You've matured since the last time Jihoon saw you ... and he's not the only one who's noticed
♡♡♡♡
Honestly, the thought of spending every summer in Jeju with your family wasn't exactly ideal. You wanted to spend the summer with your friends, not on an island where you knew almost no one. Still, you had one saving grace: Park Jihoon. The Park family was close friends with your own, so they had been staying at the same beach house with you since you were seven years old. Jihoon was the same age as you, so you naturally became close friends.
Your families both lived in Seoul, but you never really hung out with Jihoon unless it was some holiday or celebration and his family was over. As you senior year came to an end, you realized you hadn't seen Jihoon at all since that summer. It wasn't surprising, though, since you were both busy with studying for entrance exams and whatnot.
“He's going to be so surprised with how beautiful you've become,” your mother smiled as your plane landed in Jeju, stroking your hair lovingly.
You blushed, feeling embarrassed by the compliment. “It's not like I've changed that much,” you told her.
That wasn't necessarily true, however, you were just being humble. In all honesty, puberty did finally hit and it was kind to you. The boyish figure you once had finally had some shape to it. Your chest was still on the flatter side, but you couldn't have it all. Your braces were also removed and your now straight smile was beautiful. It was the little things that changed that made you look even prettier.
Your heart pounded like a drum as you neared the familiar beach house, which was basically your second home at that point. At first, you hadn't anticipated anything, but, after your mother's comment, you were wondering if this summer would be different.
“You're here!” Mrs. Park shouted as she rushed down the sandy steps of the beach house and to your mother, tightly hugging her. “Jihoon! Hurry to help with bags!”
Your own father hugged Mrs. Park and then Mr. Park, who was chuckling at how excited his wife was. “She's been waiting at the window for you guys,” he informed you all, making you smile fondly.
Mrs. Park turned to you. “Look how much you've grown in the past year! You're even more gorgeous, Y/N!”
Again, you blushed as you thanked her but politely said you looked the same. You watched as Jihoon appeared and they disappeared, always leaving the two of you to unload the rental car. “What happened to your face?” Jihoon asked as he opened the trunk.
You scowled, already knowing this summer would be like every other one. “Gee, thanks for that confidence boost,” you said, rolling your eyes.
He smiled and shook his head. “That's not what I meant. You just look different.” He inspected you and you felt like a bug under a microscope. “You got your braces off, huh?”
Nodding, you flashed him a smile. “You did, too. You look good.” The two of you embraced tightly before turning to the bags. “Are Junkyu and Yoonbin here yet?”
He nodded. “Yoonbin got here two days ago and Junkyu last night,” he informed you. “There's a party on the beach thrown by some college kids and Yoonbin managed to get us an invite.”
“Sounds cool,” you said, but you weren't sure how you felt. You had never been to a college party or any party for that matter. You liked to stay in bed where it was warm and safe, eating snacks and watching movies. Still, maybe you might like the party scene.
After unloading everything and putting the bags in your respective rooms, you put your swimsuit on, some shorts and a tank top, and then joined Jihoon downstairs to meet Junkyu and Yoonbin for a swim.
“What happened to you?” Junkyu asked, his eyebrows furrowing the moment he laid eyes on you.
You scoffed in disbelief, “Did I get so ugly over the span of one year?”
Yoonbin smiled. “I think he's talking about that giant bruise on your knee,” he commented.
“No, I'm talking about how my little brother, Y/N, is now my sister,” Junkyu said. “When did you get a figure?”
You shoved him aside, going to set your towel down. “Shut up,” you huffed.
“Wait, who called you ugly?” Yoonbin asked.
Junkyu nodded. “Yeah! I'll fight him for you!”
You glanced at Jihoon. “I didn't call you ugly!” he exclaimed. “I just couldn't figure out what about you changed.”
Letting out a laugh, you jumped up to your feet and threw an arm around him. “I know, I know! I just like to give you a hard time,” you teased. “Now, let's get in the water. It's so hot out.”
As you removed your shirt and shorts, you watched the boys rush into the water. Every year before, you had worn a one-piece swimsuit. That year, however, you wore your first bikini. With your new figure, your friend had somehow convinced you to show it off. You felt slightly self-conscious, but you knew you just had to fake it until you make it.
After some swimming and goofing off, you finally decided you wanted to dry off and enjoy the warm sun. The boys agreed but already planned on playing some volleyball with a beach ball in a little bit.
“Yeah, I fell down the stairs because I was so excited after finding out I got accepted into one of my top three universities,” you told Yoonbin, explaining why your knee was bruised. “I'm just glad I didn't break it.”
He laughed, “I'm surprised you didn't.”
“I'll have the whole house to myself for two nights, so we can have our own mini party,” Junkyu said to Jihoon. You didn't hear the whole conversation because you and Yoonbin had just tuned in.
You looked at Jihoon. “You're gonna leave me alone for two nights with just our parents?” you asked him.
He opened his mouth to speak, but Junkyu cut him off. “You can come, too. I don't think your parents would mind. What would even happen?”
Yoonbin nodded in agreement. “Yeah, we're all like siblings,” he added.
“Good point. I'll ask, but I'm sure they'll be fine with it,” you said. Your eyes wandered towards three guys passing by. Your jaw just about dropped. “That guy is so hot.”
They looked to see who you were drooling over. “Yugyeom-hyung?” Jihoon questioned. “The guy we've known since we were kids?”
You shook your head, “No, the one in the middle.”
“His name is Eunwoo, this summer's heartthrob,” Junkyu told you. “All the girls are talking about him and he just got here.”
Eunwoo looked over, seeing you staring. He sent you a sweet smile before turning away. “Well, you've certainly got his attention,” Yoonbin smirked, standing up to go play volleyball.
“I'm in love,” you said. “What I wouldn't give to have even just two minutes in heaven with him.”
You felt something hit your head. It didn't hurt, but sometimes you liked to be dramatic. “Ouch! What the heck?!”
Jihoon looked at you as he picked up the beach ball he had just hit you with. “Stop drooling over him and come play,” he said.
Scowling, you stood up and joined Junkyu on the other side of the net.
♡♡♡♡
“Hurry up, Y/N! Before I'm old!” Jihoon called to you somewhat jokingly, waiting on the porch of the beach house.
You hurriedly slipped your bracelet onto your wrist before jogging down the stairs. “Well, don't you look gorgeous,” your mother smiled, lovingly smoothing down your hair.
You were wearing a skirt and top set. They were both red with white flowers on them. The top was a crop top with sleeves that wrapped around your upper arm, showing off both your stomach and shoulders. You had bought it on a whim hoping it would look good and maybe you could try and find a style that you really liked. Hopefully your mother was right and you looked gorgeous.
“Watch after Jihoon, yeah? Now that you guys can drink, he thinks he's a pro,” Mrs. Park snickered.
Smiling, you nodded. “Of course,” you told her. “I'm not planning on drinking much or at all in order to keep an eye on the three of them.”
“That's my girl,” your mother smiled. You quickly put your sandals on and then joined Jihoon outside.
He looked at you and stopped swaying, inspecting you. It felt like he stared at you forever until he finally said, “You look nice, now let's go before Junkyu gets impatient.”
You nodded, joining his side as you walked down the beach and to the house. Honestly, you weren't sure whose house or party it was, but you didn't really care.
“That's a cute outfit,” a girl told you. You were pretty sure her name was Herin.
“Thanks,” you said, smiling at her. She ended up spending a lot of the night with you and the boys. It turned out it was her first summer there, just a whim on her parent's end.
Junkyu's eyes wandered and spotted Eunwoo standing near the cooler. “Look, Y/N, your boyfriend is here,” he teased.
You looked over, blushing slightly when you saw Eunwoo. “He's totally yummy,” Herin said.
That made you smile. You could never really talk about guys on a real level with the three boys. “Thank you!” you exclaimed, turning back to look at Eunwoo. “He's seriously gorgeous.”
Her arm looped with your own, “Come on, let's go refill our drinks.”
The two of you quickly left, going over to the cooler where Eunwoo was with another tall, handsome boy. He spotted you and Herin before smiling. “Hi,” he spoke, his voice as beautiful and angelic as himself. “You're Y/N, right?”
The fact that he knew your name made your mind go blank and insides become mush. “Y-yeah,” you managed out, feeling Herin lightly squeeze your arm. You didn't care if Yugyeom had told him your name, you were just happy he had remembered.
Jihoon watched on with Yoonbin and Junkyu. “What could they possibly be talking about?” Jihoon scoffed. “They probably have nothing in common.”
Yoonbin smirked. “Jihoon, your jealousy is showing,” he said in a sing-song tone. “If you want to date Y/N so badly, then tell her how you feel. You won't get anywhere by not saying anything.”
That made Junkyu laugh but nod in agreement. Once again, Jihoon scoffed, but much more dramatically as he took another gulp of his beer. “Jealous? No way!”
“Come on, you've glared at any guy who stared at Y/N too long. An appreciative glance her way equals a glare from you,” Junkyu said. “Admit it, Y/N finally grew up during senior year and tons of guys have noticed. You're so used to her always being with you and us, so you're bothered that she has a thing for that Eunwoo guy and vice-versa.”
Jihoon was upset at the fact that he was so transparent to his two friends and the fact that they were right. He didn't want to be jealous, but he couldn't help it. You were practically his best friend and he was so used to having you around him almost at all times. Seeing you making new friends and spreading your wings bothered him because he feared you leave him and he hated that.
You were so caught up in your conversation with Eunwoo that you hadn't noticed Herin and Mingyu totally hitting it off. Eunwoo was really nice, sweet, and handsome, but he wasn't very funny. In fact, he was kind of awkward. Still, you enjoyed his company enough and he enjoyed yours, but it was obvious to both of you that things would never turn romantic.
In all that time, you completely forgot about Jihoon, Junkyu, and Yoonbin. You felt really guilty since the summer was for them, but you were sure you'd see them plenty during university and were hoping you guys would start hanging out in Seoul. “I really had a nice time talking with you, but I think I should go find my friends and make sure they're not doing something stupid,” you told Eunwoo.
He smiled and nodded. “It was nice meeting you, Y/N. I hope we can talk again soon,” he said.
Herin sent you a look, one that clearly asked if you wanted her to go with you. You slightly shook your head, wanting her to spend more time with Mingyu. Without another word or silent communication, you left.
“There you are!” you exclaimed when you finally found Jihoon. He was alone in one of the bedrooms, sitting at the foot of the bed with his arms wrapped around a pillow. “I've been looking for you everywhere! Where are Yoonbin and Junkyu?”
Jihoon didn't respond right away and you watched his head bob up and down slightly. That was when you realized he was drunk. He reeked of alcohol. “Y/N! There you are!” he exclaimed, his words only slightly slurred, which was surprising.
You giggled but felt bad for not watching out for him and stopping him from drinking too much. “Come on, let's go find Junkyu and Yoonbin and then get you to bed.”
Grabbing his hands, you struggled to help him to his feet. You threw the pillow back onto the bed and lightly slapped Jihoon's face to wake him up. “Why didn't you hang out with me tonight? This is our time, Y/N. All these guys are suddenly talking to you because you're so hot and you have no time for me.”
Then, without any warning, he kissed you. It wasn't a long kiss, but longer than expected. When he pulled away, his head fell on your shoulder. “Holy shit,” Yoonbin's voice said. You hadn't even noticed him and Junkyu.
“We never speak of this,” you say and they nod. “Come on, help me get him home.”
It was kind of a struggle, but you guys eventually got him on Junkyu's back and then home. You were relieved your parents weren't awake because you didn't want Jihoon to do something dumb.
Before Jihoon fell asleep, you made him eat something and drink water.
♡♡♡♡
“I did what?!” Jihoon shrieked, rubbing at his temples right after. His headache had gone down a great deal, but not completely. “No, there's no way. Did I do anything else?”
Yoonbin nodded, “You called her hot.”
That made him groan and bury his head in his hands. You had gone to get ice cream with Herin and he was sure you were telling her what happened. The two of you had only just met but he could tell you hit it off and finally had a girl to confide in.
“How bad is this? Like, have I made things totally awkward or will Y/N and I be okay?”
Silence took over as the three boys thought about this. “Honestly, I think Y/N just chalked it up to a drunken mistake on your part,” Junkyu confessed. “Knowing Y/N, she'll pretend it never happened.”
Jihoon didn't know how he felt about that. On one hand, he wished it had never happened, so pretending it didn't was the next best thing. On the other, all he wanted to do was talk about it with you. He couldn't just leave the situation up in the air, could he? This was why he never wanted to confess his feelings to you. When feelings got involved, things only got complicated.
The front door opened and Jihoon wondered if it was your guys’ parents coming back from whatever thing they had planned to do in town. “I'm back!” you called out, shutting the door behind you. You went upstairs and found the three boys in Jihoon's room. “Feeling better?”
Jihoon swallowed hard as he nodded. Things felt weird but he knew that was only on his end. “How was ice cream with Herin?” Junkyu asked, trying to ease the awkwardness caused by Jihoon.
You sat down next to Jihoon. You were close, closer than he expected. He felt like he couldn't breathe properly. “Good. We ran into Eunwoo-oppa and Mingyu-oppa. I think Herin and Mingyu-oppa are really hitting it off.”
Oppa? You were calling Eunwoo that already? The two of you just met! Were you really already that close? It made Jihoon feel upset and jealous and he hated that. He didn't want to be that guy, but he couldn't help it.
“What about you and Eunwoo?” Yoonbin asked. Jihoon looked at him, wondering why he'd ask that. Was he trying to make Jihoon even more jealous? Or was it just to get some clarity. Maybe both.
You shrugged. “I don't know. He's really nice, but I don't think it'll go anywhere,” you confessed, making Jihoon feel relieved. You looked at him and then grabbed his chin gently between your thumb and index finger. “Are you sure you're feeling better? You look flushed.”
Probably because he was. He wasn't sure how he looked, but he was freaking out on the inside. His heart was beating like a drum and he thought he would combust any second from your touch.
“I-I'm fine, just a little hot,” he finally said, cringing at his word choice.
Nodding slowly, you said, “Okay. Let's all watch a movie together. I'll meet you guys down there.”
They watched you leave before Junkyu hit Jihoon's arm. “Are you trying to make it awkward?!” he exclaimed. “Y/N was acting completely normal but you were acting like you two just met!”
“I know! I'm sorry!” Jihoon exclaimed. “I just can't help it. Even though I don't remember the kiss, I still feel like it only made me like her more. Now that I've crossed that line of friendship, it's hard to be just friends.”
Yoonbin sighed, “Then either talk to Y/N or get over it. This summer will be painful if you keep acting this way.”
That night, Jihoon couldn't sleep. He just laid in bed staring up at his ceiling, listening to the soft, low hum of the fan he had on his dresser. Earlier at dinner, he spazzed out when you got too close to grab some more rice and he ended up spilling soda all over you. He was sure his mother noticed he was acting weird and was thankful she didn't say anything … yet.
Normal. He just wanted things to be normal again. Checking the clock, he saw that midnight was just a few minutes away. With a smile on his face, he threw his covers off and went to your bedroom. You were sound asleep and he felt guilty waking you up, but only a little.
“Y/N, wake up,” he said softly, shaking you gently. You woke up fairly quickly.
Rubbing at your eyes, you whined, “What are you doing?”
“Come on, let's go for a midnight swim.”
That made you smile. A midnight swim was a tradition for you and Jihoon. The first midnight swim always occurred within the first week of summer to mark its official start. Midnight swims were sacred for the two of you because they were just yours. No parents, no Junkyu, and no Yoonbin. It was your time with each other, so it was special.
“Okay, let me just change.”
He shook his head as you climbed out of bed. “No time! We'll just swim in our clothes!” he exclaimed in a hushed tone. Without another word, he grabbed your hand and pulled you along with him.
The two of you were panting slightly as you stood on the beach near the water. The night was quiet and no one else was out, which was kind of surprising. “Um, Jihoon?” you questioned, finally able to get a word in. He hummed in response, his eyes taking in the waves in the moonlight. “I'm not wearing pants.”
His eyes immediately went to your legs, realizing you were only in a T-shirt and underwear. “Sorry!” he exclaimed, peeling his eyes away. “I shouldn't have just pulled you out of there like that or looked at you.”
That made you giggle and he was kind of confused. “It's fine. It was basically an invitation for you to look.”
“Well, we can just swim in our underwear? It's like swimwear anyway.”
You both knew that wasn't completely true. Underwear was more intimate than swimwear, which was why they were called “intimates”. Still, you didn't say anything and nodded instead. Jihoon was quick to strip and remove his shirt and sweatpants. He waited nervously as you removed your shirt.
“You can look at me, Jihoon. I won't think you're a pervert or anything,” you said. He nodded and looked at you, trying his best to not check you out. You held out your hand. “Come on, let's go.”
He took your hand and then the two of you ran into the water. For the next half hour or so, you just swam and talked. Things felt normal for the first time all day. Maybe things didn't have to return to normal, though. Things had changed, clearly, but maybe it wasn't bad. Maybe things could change to a new kind of normal.
“Summer has officially begun,” Jihoon grunted softly as he sat down on the porch of the house. Content smiles were on both of your faces.
You sighed happily. “I thought it was going to be like any other summer, but it feels different. It feels like something big will happen.”
You sounded wistful; like you hoped it would be different. “Are you talking about the kiss?”
Jihoon couldn't believe he blurted that out. All he wanted to do was disappear, but he couldn't. “That kiss didn't mean anything, Jihoon. I mean, you were just drunk and upset,” you said. “We can't like each other, either, right? We just wouldn't work. I mean, me with you?”
What was that supposed to mean? “Yeah, you're right. We wouldn't work,” Jihoon said, getting worked up because he was upset. “I'm not good enough for you, right? I can't compare to Eunwoo. He's gorgeous, tall, and x, y, and z. Why would you want me when you could have him?”
You opened your mouth to talk, but Jihoon was already storming inside.
♡♡♡♡
“Where's Jihoon?” your mother asked, joining you on the porch the next afternoon.
You shrugged, “Probably with Junkyu or Yoonbin. I don't know.”
She sat down next to you. “Interesting.”
Letting out a small sigh, you bookmarked your page and set your book down. It was obvious your mother knew something was going on between you and Jihoon and wanted answers. “We got into a fight last night, okay?”
Clearly, you were upset. “What happened? Come on, vent to Momma,” she said, making you smile a bit.
“At that party the other night, he got really drunk and kissed me. I was gonna act like it hadn't happened for the rest of my life since I thought it was just a drunken kiss, but I think it meant more to Jihoon than I thought,” you confessed to her. “He brought it up last night and then stormed off looking upset. I was just flustered and couldn't stop talking, so I think there was some misunderstanding. I've tried to clear things up, but he's avoiding me, ignoring my calls and texts, and even hangs up Yoonbin and Junkyu's phones when I call them.”
She smiled, soothingly stroking your hair. “He's just upset. Give him time to cool off and I'm sure he'll be open to talking again. Jihoon could never stay mad at you.” You nodded, hoping she was right. “The more important thing is if you like Jihoon back. From what I can tell, he likes you but is jealous of other guys, especially Eunwoo.”
You had no idea how she knew about Eunwoo and could only assume she had eavesdropped when you were on the phone with Herin earlier. “Eunwoo is nice and everything, but he's a little dull and awkward. I really like Jihoon. He's like my best friend. He understands me so well and everything about him is great. I think I've always liked him but I've wanted things to stay normal.”
“Well, sometimes normal has to change and become a new normal. Don't let ideas like that keep you from being happy, sweetie,” she told you. She made a really good point.
You smiled at her, “Thanks, Mom. I really needed this.”
“Of course, kiddo.”
She went back inside and you picked your book back up, feeling better than you had all day.
That evening, you had been so prepared to talk to Jihoon, but he didn't come home. You had forgotten Junkyu was going to have his house to himself, so Jihoon was staying over along with Yoonbin. Junkyu had invited you, but you felt awkward to just show up after a whole day of avoiding each other. You decided to just stay at home with all the parents. It was weird since Jihoon and you were almost always together, but it really helped you to realize just how much Jihoon meant to you.
You couldn't sleep that night. It was so weird that the whole day passed without you and Jihoon talking. It made you feel weird and unsettled. Instead of just laying in bed, you went downstairs for ice cream. When you got down there, you just about had a heart attack when you saw Jihoon sitting at the table.
“What are you doing here?!” you exclaimed in a hushed tone, a hand over your pounding heart. “I almost peed my pants!”
That made the corners of his mouth twitch slightly. “I couldn't sleep, so I left Junkyu's,” he told you. You nodded, feeling awkward. “Okay, that's not the complete truth. I felt really guilty for ignoring you all day and couldn't sleep. I came here to talk to you, but I chickened out and have been sitting here trying to give myself the confidence for the past 10 minutes.”
“You didn't have to chicken out. I've been trying to talk to you all day.”
He nodded. “I know, but I was hurt and upset.”
“That's why I was trying to talk to you. It was a misunderstanding, Jihoon. I was just talking without thinking because I like you, too. Eunwoo-oppa is just a friend. He may be good looking and stuff, but he doesn't begin to compare to you,” you confessed. “You're my best friend, Jihoon, and you'll always be my number one. I never told you this because I was afraid of things changing, but I shouldn't be. Change is good and that's how a new normal can come about.”
He finally cracked a smile. “God, I'm an idiot,” he said softly. He was going to say something else but shut his mouth when you used your finger to angle his head and kiss him.
It was awkward since he was sitting and you were standing, but he was quick to pull you down onto his lap. The kiss spoke more than actual words. You knew he wanted you and vice-versa. You guys loved each other and didn't have to be afraid anymore. The kiss was filled with passion as your lips moved in sync and tongues explored. It probably wouldn't have escalated from there, but you would never know. The kiss was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a camera. You turned and saw both of your mother's.
Letting out a small yelp, you threw yourself off Jihoon. In the process, you tripped over your own foot and fell on your back. “You guys are so embarrassing!” Jihoon cried out as he quickly helped you up.
“Hey! Let us be happy!” his mother exclaimed. “Do you know how long we've waited for this? We've been wanting you two to end up together since you were kids.”
You sighed. “You got your wish, happy?” you asked. They nodded and you shook your head slightly. “We're going to bed, now, so goodnight.”
All of you went to your respective rooms. You pecked Jihoon's lips one last time before turning to go to your room. Jihoon grabbed your wrist and spun you around, crashing his lips onto your own. Once again, you got distracted and lost in the kiss.
“Sleep well, Y/N,” he said softly as you went to your room, making your insides melt.
You both shut your doors and let out dreamy sighs before climbing into bed, ready for whatever the rest of the summer had in store for you guys.
