Tonight, Elise and Dae were having dinner together on their new dining room table. They had even went to the store and picked out four chairs so they could sit.
“You look like your cat just died,” Dae joked, setting a warm bowl in front of Elise. She set her own down across from the girl, sitting down.
“Ginger and Mingyu want to come and visit us,” Elise blurted out. There, she had gotten it over with.
   “They want to?”
“They are,” Elise corrected. “They’re coming to visit us.”
“What do you think about that?” she inquired.
“You know I hate that two-faced bitch as much as you do.”
“Well, yes,” said Dae,” I know that. I meant, what do you think about Mingyu coming?”
“I’m glad to see him, but if you’re thinking that we are going to get back together, then I’m telling you now not to get your hopes up.”
“I wasn’t,” Dae insisted. More quietly, she repeated,” I wasn’t.”
  “Good.”
“Elise, can I tell you something.”
  “Of course.”
“Do you remember Du ZiFeng?” Dae asked. “He went to school with us junior year, and he went back to Taiwan -- he’s from Taiwan -- to serve in the military. He--”
“I remember ZiFeng.” Elise was not sure where this was going, especially considering their previous topic of conversation. Perhaps this was about Ginger, and her being in love with him?
“What if I told you that he and I were dating?”
“I would have a lot of questions.”
Dae eyed her best friend. “Ask them.”
“First of all, where is he?”
“He’s still living in Taiwan, for now,” Dae explained,” but he’s moving to Seoul in August.”
   “He finished his military service?”
“He only has to serve four months.”
“How long have you been dating him?”
   “Two months.”
“Were you already dating him before we moved here?”
   “Yes.”
   “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I was scared of what you were going to think.”
Elise made a small noise. Her eyes narrowed, and her voice was calm in such a way that it made Dae a little unnerved. “Were you planning on telling me, if he had not decided to move here?”
   “Yeah.”
“When?” The word came out of her mouth so quickly and with a sharpness that made Dae nearly jump.
   “Eventually, I guess.”
   “Okay.”
   “Okay?” Dae repeated.
“Those are all of my questions.”
“Oh.” Dae looked at the ground. “I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you.”
“No, you’re not,” Elise stated, mater-of-factly,” but that’s fine -- just don’t lie to me about it.” She stood up. “Thank you for making me dinner.”
Dae watched as Elise slipped on her shoes, grabbing her backpack.
“Where are you going?” she asked.
“I have to go quit my job,” was all Elise said before she left.
Dae glanced over at Elise’s bowl. It was completely untouched.

“I think I’ve ruined all possibilities of ever getting to come back here,” Sejun mumbled, as he attempted to get one of the couch’s legs properly attached.
He and Dae had spent the past hour or so attempting to put together this couch. The dining room table -- which had been considerably less challenging -- was complete.
“What makes you say that?” Dae asked, not looking up from her phone. She was trying to translate the instructions from Japanese to Korean using Google Translate. That was not going very well.
“I already got the feeling that she hates me.”
“It’s not personal,” explained Dae. “She makes everyone think that she hates them whenever she first meets them. You just have to get to know her, and once she opens up, you’ll be fine.”
“How long does that take, exactly?”
   “It depends.”
  “On . . . ?”
“Just, in general,” she replied, trying her best to properly explain. “Elise is not like every person you’ve ever met; she’s like none of them actually.”
“You talk about her as if you think she’s the greatest person to ever be born,” Sejun pointed out. He was getting nowhere with the couch leg, and he set in down in defeat.
“Maybe she is,” Dae declared,” Elise is a very special girl, and I know she’s had a hard time, though she hasn’t told me much.”
“I thought you two were best friends?”
   “We are.”
“But, you said that she hasn’t told you much.”
“Yeah.” Dae put down the Japanese couch instructions. “I’m not sure if I want to know; I really couldn’t guess how bad it really was for her. I don’t like thinking about it -- I like knowing she is safe now.”

Dae and Minwoo (DaeMin)
-ship name is self-explanatory here people
-their relationship is not unlike Minwoo’s with Eunhae
-Dae is protective of him; she is older than him after all
-Minwoo surprisingly it’s not that surprising trusts Dae more than almost anyone
-she helps him with his dancing, though she tells him it is already perfect
-Dae helped him learn the lyrics of Bohemian Rhaspody
-When he became high key famous because of it she pretended to take all the credit
-”Without me, he never could have done it, I’m telling you.”
-seriously, though, she is really proud of him
-Dae will definitely follow him around saying “Scaramouche” and “Galileo.”
-if the poor boy ever says anything that can be related to the lyrics of the song he covered, Dae would exploit it
-one of their members could be giving Minwoo a hug, and after an uncomfortable long time, he asks: “Will you let me go?”
-sure enough, Dae will drop everything that she is doing and appear, chanting, “WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO!”
-Minwoo would just sigh deeply
-very, very deeply
-Minwoo was going through some very serious stuff, and at the last moment he decided to reach out to dae
-she did not answer his phone call because she was practicing her dancing, and he confessed everything that was going on to her voicemail, as well as everything he was feeling
-you better believe that Dae SPRINTED over to his apartment and it didn’t help calm her down that he wasn’t answering his phone
-Dae is always there for him
-ALWAYS
-”Please call me.”
-”I want you to know I understand.”
-A/N: 4/15
