☕️ favourite to least favourite his man 2 members?

aghhhh this is harder than i expected bc i honestly have grown to like so many of them and the last 2 eps have sent my mind spinning, but as of rn, this is my list;

(edit; i just sat and ranted for the first 3 of these people and it took me 25 minutes and i realised this post would be way too long if i did that so here’s my attempt at being concise)

Junsung - everything about how he approached sungho, his sarcastic humour, his dumbass sincerity that’s so endearing, his confidence and faith in his own feelings and ability to express them, how unabashedly himself he is, him being the biggest sleepyhead in the morning

Sungho - his cuteness, his smile, him being happy is just so wonderful and contagious, his dry humour matching so well with junsung, the level of emotional maturity he has, how genuinely he cares for other people, the way he shows his affection in the smallest ways but also being so confident and sure and forward once he’d decided, and finally his lil handwarmer sweater paws.

Hyungjun - the way he loves to eat, like he is truly in another realm where everything is happy and good and he sees nothing else, his he is so surprisingly shy but tries so hard to show his feelings, and how purely and sincerely he approached minsung, his doofy smile and his backwards caps and how well he handled himself both with hyungjin and minsung, how he can both like minsung and call him out, how soft his heart is and how much he wants to guard it but also reveal it to the one he likes. he’s a teddy bear, i adore him.

Yonghee - oh this complicated young man. this is less of a list of things I love and more just the general feeling of god I want to protect this boy with everything I have, and want him to know how good he is just as he is, and that he doesn’t need to push himself or try harder, that he’s enough right now. he has this burning confidence and passion that is so at odds with all this insecurity in how good he is and how he needs to do more, he is so unafraid and will dive in at the deep end and yet i can see him kicking his feet trying to keep afloat and I just want him to breathe and live and laugh and be happy, and find that happiness that’s out there for him instead of feeling like he needs to do it all himself.

Minsung - another complicated man that I didn’t know would be so complicated until these last 2 eps, which has simultaneously made me more mad at him and like him more bc i feel so much for him. i love that he gives off this soft and gentle aura that hides this chaotic menace inside bc he is so good at teasing and bantering and pretending to be this bratty princess, bc he doesn’t just want to be doted on, me wants someone that can meet him at that level and bite back and have fun with him bc I can see this person on him that just wants to have fun. but I love that hyungjun made him look inside himself and he actually saw these ways in which he’s imperfect and made wrong steps and it made him so emotional bc behind this softness and this fun is a core of real feelings that I think takes a lot to get out of him, and much of his inability to do so is projected onto hyungjun, but I can see the happiness right there for when he’s brace enough to take it and I want it for him so bad.

Jungwook - best boy. which seems weird to say bc he is ranked lower, but only bc I have less of a personal attachment bc I do tend to lean towards these more complex or multifaceted people, not to say he isn’t, I just haven’t seen it. he has such a heart of gold and is such a good person and so cute and has the best smile, I can sense his warmth, and I have seen this journey he’s been on of healing from his past and kind of reclaiming who he is as a person and I want to see the person he’ll become when he becomes confident to show all the sides of himself. and I see more of them when I look at his feelings for yonghee bc he is just so charmed by this strong, passionate, confident person, and I love that he will hate seonwoo for making him feel hurt not just bc he likes yonghee, but irregardless of feelings, just caring for this kid so much that he knows he deserves better than to be treated like that, and I wanna see more of that man, and I wanna see him treat himself with that same care and kindness and tell himself that he deserves better too.

Seonwoo - I seem to be getting more ranty as I go and if anyone can make me rant, it’s this man. he is just… so much. at first, he would’ve been last, but after being out of this love triangle, I’ve seen so many sides to him that I like more, and yet I he can’t be fully redeemed in my eyes bc of the way he treats yonghee. he is great in all of his relationships that have no element of romance, but when they do he becomes so messy and frustrating and he has the clarity of hindsight to see where he went wrong with sungho, but he’s still in it with yonghee, and he needs to be able to look at the situation with that same clarify and give yonghee the clarity he needs before he can go further up in my good books.

Hyungjin - let me get this straight. I don’t dislike him. my feelings about him have nothing to do with me wanting hyungjun to be with minsung and not him. it’s that he has just never clicked with me as a person, I’ve never really seen a side of him that has charmed or endeared me to him, the only time I can think of is when he had that chat with seonwoo where he set him straight about not liking his personality of being nice to everyone. i just don’t particularly like how serious he is being with everyone, it’s like I can see him trying too hard and unlike when others put in effort and it’s endearing, here it feels like he’s pushing himself too much to do everything he can, but I wish he’d rather just relax and be more himself. he puts on the chivalrous gentleman act and that just in general is something I don’t like. and I feel like he struggles to gauge other people, idk if it’s that he just doesn’t think or finds it hard, but his behaviour is always what he wants to do without considering others and their feelings, and i hope it’s something he gets better at.

CIX 4th EP Album ‘HELLO’ Chapter Ø. Hello, Strange Dream

I believe this to be the movie they all shot together while they were in the movie club prior to the events of the Numb era.

It's just them being besties and having fun together. A nice little flashback to a happier time.

We open on a shot of a camcorder inside a reasonably messy apartment full of bright colors and signs of a college student kinda lifestyle, followed by clips of old tvs monitors, film reels and cassette tapes as a director's voice announces the beginning of shooting.

The choreo begins in front of an old movie theater which, instead of film time announcements, spells out the following phrase: "Veramente quant' io del regno santo ne la mia mente potei far tesoro, sarà ora materia del mio canto."

This phrase is from Canto 1 of the Dante's Divine Comedy - specifically Dante's Paradise which we'll come back to when we reach the Save Me Kill Me era.

We're also getting glimpses of space which aligns with Dante's description of Paradise: the moon and planets in our solar system are the different levels of Paradise.

What this tells us is that this was paradise for our boys: being together, having fun, shooting silly movies together. All the things they lost when their group fell apart.

The lyrics reflect all of this: they talk about being young and silly, wanting to be together and remember each other forever, lacking the skills to really pull off a masterfully shot film but still having fun doing it because they're doing it with their best friends.

Throughout the MV, we get to see Yonghee be in charge of editing the final product and once he's done, he titles the tape "Stella". We'll come back to this later when we reach Save Me Kill Me.

The MV ends with the closing shot of Stella - in front of the movie theater where we started but I'd like to end on this slow-mo shot of them all just goofing around because it's the last time we'll see them like this before the story comes to a close.

Hello stranger physical albums

added a keep reading tab because this post contains a lot of images and is therefore pretty long.

to start off, the colors. they're blue and red. in la divina commedia, dante is dressed in red and virgil is dressed in blue. according to christian beliefs, red represents (among other things) love for god and salvation, which is why jesus tends to be pictured in red. and blue, besides having deep biblical roots on its own, represents (among other things) purity, which is why the virgin mary is usually depicted in blue. seeing as la divina commedia is filled with christian symbolism and theories, it's safe to say that dante alighieri and c9 chose these colors on purpose. especially when you look at the fact that in the hello version everyone is wearing blue, except for bjy. and in the stranger version yh and hs are wearing red, and bx, sh and bjy are wearing blue.

when you actually open the photobook (hello version) you see the quote 'luceat lux tua' (your light will shine) once again.

on the first page of the stranger version is a short message. those are the first 3 lines of la divina commedia, inferno. they describe how dante finds himself in the forest where he will find the gates of hell. trans: 'miday upon the journey of our life i found myself within a dark forest for the straight path had been lost'

throughout the photobook of the hello version, every member poses with a toy airplane. i have yet to figure out what the plane represents, but i'll add it to this thread when i do. (edit: i never figured it out)

in both the hello and stranger version, bx is again seen with matches, just like in the hello cix teaser, story film 2 and it's epilogue, and points to his punishment in jungle mv.

in both versions jinyoung is also with a snowglobe, which also refers to the punishment he will face in the jungle mv

hyunsuk is seen with his rubiks cube from the story films. i'm not sure what it represents yet, but i'll figure that out too. (edit 2: never figured that out either lol)

yonghee is seen with a pocket watch. this relates to his watch in the story film. in the hello cix teaser yonghee was also associated with time, but once again, i'm not sure yet what that means!

seunghun is seen with headphones and has an audio message on his page. i'm not sure i'll ever be able to figure out what was said in the message, though it does look like someone was just speaking. the headphones are a reference to the hello cix teaser and seunghun's story films. it seems to symbolise that seunghun is deaf or isn't able to hear anything. and about this i'm sure that there's a deeper lying meaning to it, so i'll try to figure this out first!
