Holy Dham 🙏 Stories Related to Badrinath Brahma Vaivarta Purana Brahma kanda 29 and 30 chapter contains the reason why Lord Narayan came to Badrinatha. The story begins with sage Narada requesting his Lord Narayan to perform his pastimes tapasya instead of his usual sleeping pastime Yoga Nidra . Happily, Lord Narayan made a plan and send Lakshmi devi to Nagaloka and then he left Vaikuntha to come to Badrinatha where Lord Shiva was residing. Lord Narayan came in the form of a child weeping. Parvati took compassion on the beautiful yet sorrowful child and brought him to their home. After some time the small child started crying again. Lord Shiva and Parvati thinking the child is hungry went to fetch something to appease his hunger. When both returned ,the child had locked the doors and smilingly said that now the home is his. Child requested them to relocate to another place. Understanding the child to be non different than Lord Narayan, Lord Shiva moved to Kedarnath. Not finding Lord Narayan in Vaikuntha ,Narada came to Badrinath in his search. He found Him in Badrinath performing dhyana. Narada asked Lord as to who is the object of his dhyana. Narayana replied that it was He Himself. He was setting an example for the world how one must perform meditation of Narayan. What is Power of Raam Naam
As we all know Rama is a two letter mantra derived out of the ashtakshara (Aum Na mo Na ra ya na ya) and Panchakshara (Na ma Shi va ya).
Once Goddess Parvathi asked Lord Shiva how can a lay man achieve the benefits of reciting Vishnu sahasranama which is basically read by learned schlors.
For which Lord Shiva answered: "Keno Payena lakuna vishnoor naama sahasrakam - Patyathe pandithair nithyam srothumicchyaamyaham Prabho". "Just by reciting rama rama rama. Rama nama has the essence of Vishnu sahasranama or 1000 names of Lord Vishnu".
This is told in the sloka "sri rama rama ramethi rame rame manorame sahasranama thathulyam rama nama varanane"
Rama nama is so sweet as a nectar. It gives happiness to the mind.
Whatever comes in our way as an obstacle, Rama namam will protect us.
What we desire to have, we get it,that is the prowess of the nama.
The celestial s too sing the pride of this taraka mantra and it installs bravery in one's heart
The power of Rama nama is depicted by Lord Hanuman (Ever living - chiranjeevi). He crossed the ocean by chanting the Rama nama. Rama built a bridge across the ocean to reach Lanka, but hanuman just like that crossed the Ocean by just chanting Rama nama. So this means, Rama nama is mightier than Lord Rama himself.
Let us all chant, Hari and Shiva who are one and Rama nama gives happiness both in this birth and in the next birth. It erases the difficulties of the devotees, cures the illness. Let us all chant the nectar like Rama nama daily and get his blessings.
Every other mantra in our scriptures have their own names. Rama Nama is the only Mantra that is called ‘Taraka Mantra’. The word ‘taraka’ means the one that helps us cross. It helps us cross the ocean of ‘samsara’. It helps us cross the cycles of birth and death. If it is chanted as ‘Rama’, then it is a Nama.
If it is chanted ‘Ram’, then it is a Mantra.
Our ancient Sages and Rishis have glorified the Rama Nama.
Rama Nama gets exactly the same importance in Saguna Upasana (worshipping the Absolute Truth as a Being with a form) as does the Pranava (‘Om’) Mantra in Nirguna Upasana (worshipping the Absolute Truth as formless).
Rishi Manu shows that the Rama Nama has links to all the other mantras that ever exist.
In Syavana Smriti (Syavana is the name of a rishi), Syavana says that the Rama Nama is the essence of all the Vedas, Shastras, Itihasas and Puranas.
Sage Vasishta meditated on the Rama Nama for quite a long time. Hence he wanted to name the Almighty with the same Mantra that he had chanted.
THE YOGA CONNECTION
In the philosophy of the Yoga, ‘Ra’ is considered the ‘Mooladhara’ (the point of origin of the power of Kundalini) and ‘Ma’ is the ‘Sahasrara’ (the destination). Hence, when the Rama Nama is chanted in the right tone and manner, the serpent power rises and hits the head or the ‘kapala’ Thus, by merely chanting the Rama Nama, one can become a Yogi.
In Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lord Siva asks Parvati to chant the Rama Nama all the time. A good teacher is the one who practices what he preaches. It is obvious that Siva, being the Supreme Guru, (Jagadguru) Himself chants the Rama Nama. When parents do something noble, would not the son follow the same? Muruga and Ganesha chant the Rama Nama always. That is verily their ‘Kula Mantra’.
Sage Vishwamitra took Sri Rama and Lakshmana to the forests for ‘yagna samrakshana’ (protecting their fire austerities from the demons). Out of the boundless love for Sri Rama, Viswamnitra wanted to gift Him something. A sage that he was, he had no worldly possessions, nevertheless, he had performed an abundance of austerities. He had penanced for a very long time on crores of ‘Devatas’ with mantras for each of them. He initiated Sri Rama with these Mantras.
As soon as the Mantras were initiated to Sri Rama, the ‘devatas’ appeared before them! Viswamitra was jealous of the fact that those devatas who could be invoked by him only after severe penances, now appeared the instant Sri Rama chanted their Mantras!
In our Shastras it is prescribed that when the devatas are invited, they can be installed in one of the three — water (that is the reason we install ‘kalas’ – pots of water for japa, kumbabhishekam and the like), fire (that is the reason we perform homam) and the third being, installing them into one’s own body (during Sandhyavandanam, Goddess Gayathri is installed thus). Here, when the devatas were invoked, they refused to go back to their abodes. Hence Sri Rama invited one and all of them into his body. Thus, by merely chanting the Rama Nama, one gets the benefit of invoking all the 33 crores of devatas as well.
Ramayana is filled with instances where merely the Name ‘Rama’ has solved so many miseries and disentangled so many situations.
ONE NAME FOR ALL GODS
Generally, people can be divided into two broad categories: the Shaivites, who worship Lord Shiva as the supreme, and the Vaishnavites, who worship Lord Vishnu and His forms as the Supreme Being. The most significant Mantra for any Vaishnavite is the ‘Ashtakshari’ (it contains eight letters in Sanskrit) mantra ‘Om Namo Narayana’.
The chief among the Mantras for the Shaivites is the Panchakshari (5 lettered) mantra, ‘Om Nama Shivaya’. Without the letter ‘ra’, ‘Narayana’ would read as ‘Nayana’ that means one without a way (‘gati’); without the letter, ‘ma’, ‘Namasivaya’ would read as ‘Nasivaya’ that means inauspicious.
So the jiva akshara (life-giving letters) ‘Ra’ and ‘Ma’ of these two Mantras are put together to form the Rama Nama! Anyone chanting this Divine Name thus worships both Shiva and Vishnu at the same time.
Also, Here its is 
One very famous and old true incident of 15th century!
Once there was a very wealthy Seth (businessman) in the current Uttar Pradesh. He was suffering from leprosy disease (vitiligo as we say white spots) for long time and therefore he plans to end his life by taking Samadhi in Ganga Ji.
He along with his family members and friends came to Ganga river and they saw Kamaal. (son of Kabiradas Ji)
Kamaal inquired about everything and smiled.
Kamaal: Seth! What if I remove this leprosy completely from your body?
Seth: I will give half of my wealth to you Maharaj instantly.
Kamaal: Keep your wealth with you. I don't want anything. Just chant Ram once from the bottom of your heart and take a dip in Ganga.
Seth did what Kamaal told, but nothing happened.
Kamaal: You didn't chant Ram from your whole heart. Do it one more time and take a dip.
Again! Nothing happened.
Now Kamaal asked him to say Ram for the third time and while Seth was taking a dip, Kamaal hit his head with a wodden stick.
Seth was horrified and terrified due to this sudden attack and he cried out Ram naam from the bottom of his heart finally.
And magic happened!
His leprosy disease vanished completely.
Kamaal was very happy seeing this and he hurriedly came to Kabiradas Ji and told him everything.
Kabiradas Ji was very sad hearing this that Kamaal had to take Ram naam for 3 times to cure a disease.
Saying Ram for 3 times for such a small purpose made Kabiradas Ji very angry.
He sent Kamaal to Tulsidas Ji who was Param Ram Bhakt with a letter.
Tulsidas Ji read the letter when Kamaal came to him and it was written:
“Dooba Vansh Kabir Ka Upje Poot Kamaal”
“Teen Ram Ke Naam Se Kodi Kiyo Bahaal”
My lineage has drowned when son like Kamaal born who had to take 3 Ram nam for curing a leprosy disease.
Tulsidas Ji smiled and ordered that whoever wants to cure leprosy disease gather at my ashram.
Around 1k patient of leprosy disease gathered from many villages.
Tulsidas Ji came and chant Ram naam only once on the water in his hands and then sprinkled that water on those patients.
And again magic happened!
Every single patient became disease free. Leprosy was vanished from each and everyone's body.
Kamaal returned home and told the incident as it is to Kabiradas Ji.
Kabirdas Ji was not satisfied even after that.
He sent Kamaal to Soordas Ji who was Param Krishna Bhakt.
Soordas Ji was laying on Raman Reti and his eyes were full of tears of love of Govind. He was in dhyan avastha.
Kamaal went to Soordas Ji and told him both the incidents briefly to Soordas Ji.
Soordas Ji: Look at the Yamuna river Kamaal. There is a dead body flowing in it.
Kamaal: Yes! There is a dead body. You doesn't look blind to me at all!
Soordas Ji: (smiling) Take that body out from the river and bring it to me.
Kamaal took the body out and took it before Soordas Ji.
Then Soordas Ji with his heart full of love amd bhakti of Govind, chanted Ra only out of complete Ram and suddenly the dead body became alive and that man stood in front of everybody like he's waken up from a long sleep.
Again magic happened!
Saying half of Ram naam can make a dead into alive!
Valmiki became like a God by chanting Ram naam backwards.
Shri Hanuman Ji Maharaj control Shri Ram himself by continuously chanting Ram naam.
Shri Mahadev took the Halaahal poison and it became an ornament for him because of continous Ram naam jaap.

Lord Rama is the Supreme Lord himself and any paraphernalia associated with him has his qualities invested in them, then what to speak of his holy name!
In Bhagavad Gita (10.25), Lord Krishna says as follows:
maharṣīṇāṁ bhṛgur ahaṁ girām asmy ekam akṣaram yajñānāṁ japa-yajño ’smi sthāvarāṇāṁ himālayaḥ
Of the great sages I am Bhṛgu; of vibrations I am the transcendental oṁ. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy names [japa], and of immovable things I am the Himālayas.
From this, we can understand that the chanting of the holy names of the lord hold the highest position amongst all other forms of sacrifice.
Why is that? you may ask
It is explained in the scriptures that the Lord has invested all his energies and glories into his holy name.
There are some practical examples where it has been shown that the holy names of the Lord are very powerful, and in some cases, even more powerful that the lord himself!
Evidence from Scripture In the phala sruti of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama, it is said as follows: sri rAma rAma rAmeti rame rAme manorame sahasra nAma tat tulyam rAma nAma varAnane As stated by Lord Siva to PArvati - if you just chant the name "Rama",it is equivalent to chanting the 1000 names of Sri MahA Vishnu"
The Transformation of Valmiki There lived a dacoit in the treta yuga who was quite proud of his profession. One day he happened to come across a few sages. Even though he knew they would not have anything of much value to him, he decided to try his luck by approaching the sages with the intent of robbing them. The sages asked him if he was aware of the amount of negative karma his actions would bring him, to which he replied that he only had his family’s best interest in mind. The sages then advised him to ask his family members if they would be willing to share the results of his impious acts. When he asked his family members this question, they laughed and thought he was stupid to even ask such a ridiculous question. This made him realise the worth of his actions, after which he apologised to the sages. The sages gave him to chant the holy names of Lord Rama, following which he was completely transformed into the saint whom we now know as Valmiki.
The incident with Lord Shiva When Lord Brahma recited the Ramayana, it comprised of 100 crore stanzas. Due to concerns of ownership of the scripture, Lord Vishnu divided the Ramayana into 3 sections - 1/3rd was given to MahaLaxmi, 1/3rd to Garuda and 1/3rd to Shesha. At the end of the division remained 2 words: Ra and Ma. These were given to Lord Shiva. These words became the object of meditation of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva also promises to give Rama Nama to his devotees in Kashi to grant them liberation.
The incident with Hanuman Once upon a time, Lord Rama was meeting with sages in Ayodhya. As the sages left Ayodhya, Hanuman offered his obeisances to all sages except Vishwamitra. Vishwamitra was furious at this and demanded that Lord Rama execute the offender. Lord Rama being a noble and just king, obliged. Hanuman took shelter of the holy name of Lord Rama. When Lord Rama shot his arrows at Hanuman, the arrows had no effect on Hanuman. (Please keep in mind that this Lila was plotted by Narada to demonstrate the power of the holy name of Lord Rama)
The incident with the Vanaras If you have heard the story of the Ramayana you would be familiar with how the monkeys accomplished the mighty task of building a bridge from Rameshwaram to Lanka by inscribing Lord Rama’s name on rocks and plunging them in water. Due to the strength of the Holy name, the rocks floated on water.
The story of Vibhishana When Vibhishana left Lanka with his attendants, his associates were wondering how Lord Rama was able to build the bridge across to Lanka. Vibhishana explained to them that it was merely the power of the Holy name. The attendant was skeptical and Vibhishana decided that a demonstration was in order. He handed the attendant a folded up leaf with Rama’s name on it and told him to cross the ocean. The attendant may have been skeptical about Rama’s name but he had faith in Vibhishana’s words. He took the leaf and started crossing the ocean which, to his surprise was only knee deep for him. He kept walking until he reached the midway point. Then out of curiosity, he opened the leaf and read Rama’s name. His skepticism returned. How can such a simple name be so powerful as to make the ocean knee deep? Unfortunately for him, the moment he doubted the power of Rama’s name, the ocean swallowed him up. (Taken from Holy name story: Vibhishana and leaf with name Rama!)
The story of Mother Sita When Hanuman saw Mother Sita in the Ashoka Vatika, she was unkempt and chanting the holy names of Lord Rama. She states to Hanuman that only due to the power of the holy name has she been able to survive in Lanka.

[Secuil kisah Lahiran Adek Utsman]
Kisah bermula..
Sebelum datangnya gelombang cinta yg asli, braxton hick sudah mulai terasa sejak usia kehamilan 32 pekan. Mulai mengintens pada usia kehamilan 35 minggu. Di usia kehamilan menjelang 36 minggu suami (re: ayahmu) sudah mulai bersiaga. Bahkan mengatur jadwal kerja di Bekasi dengan memadatkan di hari libur sekolah dan mengganti dengan hari masuk sekolah yg dekat dengan usia kehamilan 36 pekan. Di usia kehamilan 36 minggu, saat itu suami mendapt tugas penting yg tidak dapat ditinggal, ibu dan kaka2mu diajak ke Bekasi agar ia dapat bersiaga khawatir gelombang cinta itu datang tiba-tiba. Ia sangat ingin menemani ibu lahiran. Di pekan 37 kami kontrol seperti biasa dan belum ada tanda2 kelahiran, kontraksi palsu dirasa biasa. Berbagai upaya telah kami lakukan untuk menyambut kelahiranmu nak. Dimulai dari pembiasaan olahraga seperti jalan rutin pagi sore, gymball, yoga hingga asupan makanan bergizi untuk merangsang kontraksi alami, induksi alami pun terus diupayakan.
Menunggu.. penantian yg cukup panjang. Pola kaka2mu hari lahiran lebih cepat dari hari perkiraan. Kaka lahir 38 minggu lebih 3 hari, kaka Asma lahir 37 pekan lebih 3 hari. Kami mengira kau akan lebih cepat dari perkiraan. قَدَرُ اللَّهِ وَ مَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ
Engkau lahir H-3 hari perkiraan lahir. Di usia kehamilan 39 pekan 4 hari.
Pagi itu, sabtu. الحَمْدُ لله ayah baru saja pulang bekerja dari bekasi jumat sorenya. Kaka2 dan ayah ada agenda ke rumah kawan ayah untuk membeli durian untuk kita makan bersama. Tak biasanya ia sangat lama di rumah kawannya itu (om Farhan), tiba2 gelombang cinta itu datang dengan cukup intens. Flek keluar sedikit demi sedikit, ibu merasakan mulas kontraksi yg cukup intens dari pukul 10 pagi. Ibu telpon ayah, ternyata ia masih di rumah kawannya. Ibu kabari bahwa gelombang cinta itu mulai datang.
Ibu mencoba tenang, berdzikir sembari menggunakan gymball untuk menambah pembukaan jalan lahir.
Ayah pulang sekitar pukul 11 siang, gelombang cinta rasanya sudah semakin menggelora. Ibu berfikir untuk tenang dan santai dulu di rumah tetapi ayah tak mau “kecolongan” lagi seperti lahiran Asma. Ayah segera menyiapkan motor dan juga amunisi untuk mengantar ibu, mulai dari hospital bag hingga air madu untuk amunisi. Anak2 pun dibawa dengan segera. Sampai di bidan lesty, pukul 12 siang, bertepatan dengan adzan. Sebelum solat dzuhur, ibu diperiksa ternyata sudah bukaan 6. Setelah itu, kontraksi terus terasa semakin intens, ibu tak henti untuk mencoba tenang, dzikir dan mengatur nafas. Usai solat dzuhur, ibu kembali melakukan aktivitas gymball dan putaran2 pinggang serta berjalan2 agar pembukaan semakin cepat. Sementara ayah menemani dan mengamankan kaka-kaka. Kedua kaka-kaka sempat menghampiri ibu dan melihat kondisi ibu yg sedang merasakan kontraksi. *Tak Kondusif*. Kaka Umar malah menaiki punggung ibu, naik2 ke gymball, masuk ke rongga bawah kaki sambil lompat-lompat. مَا شَاءَ الله
Sementara Asma yg melihat ibu menahan sakit. Tak kuasa menangis, terus memeluk dan bertambah tinggi nada tangisannya. Ia peka dan tak sanggup melihat ibunya kesakitan.
Ia sampai berkata sambil menangis,
“Ibu jangan sakit, ibu kaka sayang ibu”
Keduanya pun akhirnya diamankan ayah. Dibawanya keduanya oleh ayah keluar ruangan dan diajak berjalan2 serta membeli makanan.
Usai solat dzuhur, ibu diberi makan oleh para doula persalinan. مَا شَاءَ الله
‎الحَمْدُ لله para doula persalinannya sangat ramah, sabar bahkan cekatan.
Selama ibu merasakan puncak kontraksi, dengan sabar mereka membantu memijat punggung bawah ibu. Menemani dan mencoba memberi arahan agar tetap tenang dan mengatur nafas. Pukul 13.50, Bidan Senior yakni Bidan Lesty melakukan pemeriksaan. Belum pecah ketuban tetapi pembukaan sudah membesar. Ia meminta izin untuk memecahkan ketuban, begitu pecah ketuban. Pembukaan langsung lengkap.
Seketika mulas terasa sangaaat luar biasa, seakan menekan2. Awalnya ingin melahirkan dalam posisi jongkok agar tidak melawan gravitasi, tetapi saat melihat kondisi ibu bidan lesty mengarahkan ibu untuk berbaring dan memberikan aba2 untuk mengedan. Ibu mengedan perlahan, perlahan.. hingga yg terakhir nafas panjang dan mengedan sangaaat kuat. Atas kuasa Alloh.. Alloh mudahkan dan kuatkan ibu. Rasanya seperti tidak akan kuat lagi, ingin menyerah dan energi seperti habis. Tetapi Alloh tambahkan seketika dengan tarikan nafas mengedan terakhir.. الحَمْدُ لله kepala anak ketiga kami lahir. قَدَرُ اللَّهِ وَ مَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ ada satu lilitan tali pusat dan tangan kanan keluar bersamaan dengan kepala sehingga merobek jalan lahir.

tepat pukul 13.55 Dedek bayi putra ketiga kami lahir dengan selamat. Senang sekaligus haru, tak menyangka juga bayi yg lahir berat badannya sampai 3,54 kg dan tingginya 51 cm. Padahal usg terakhir 5 hari yg lalu perkiraannya masih kisaran 2,9 sampai 3 kg.

"Eventuation." From the Yoga Tattva Upanishad, the Exploration of the Mysteries of the Axiom of Yoga.

Part 1 says we use yoga in order to become more calm and rational. Dissuasion of the mind from anxiety, hysteria, impulses and outbursts is required by persons of faith seeking to be yoked to or Baptized in the Holy Spirit. He will not respond to or interact with hysterical ninnies. Not even once.
Part 2 of this section says only a quiet mind will be able to understand how to prepare to receive the Holy Spirit, a process which can only take place after the scriptures are studied and then applied.
Application takes place during four types of yoga explained here:
1.15. And even Yoga becomes powerless in (securing) Moksha (liberation) when it is devoid of Jnana “the knowing mind”. So the aspirant after emancipation should practise (firmly) both Yoga and Jnana.
1.16. The cycle of births and deaths comes only through Jnana and perishes only through Jnana. Jnana alone was originally. It should be known as the only means (of salvation).
1.17-18(a). That is Jnana through which one cognises (in himself) the real nature of Kaivalya “the end of further transmigrations” as the supreme seat, the stainless, the partless and of the nature of Sachchidananda “truth, knowledge, happiness” without birth, existence and death and without motion and Jnana.
1.18(b)-19. Now I shall proceed to describe Yoga to you: Yoga is divided into many kinds on account of its actions: (viz.,) Yoga, Laya-Yoga, Hatha-Yoga and Raja-Yoga.
1.20. There are four states common to all these: (viz.,) Arambha “beginning”, Ghata “the event”, Parichaya “recognition” and Nishpatti “consummation, setting forth”.
1.21. O Brahma, I shall describe these to you. Listen attentively. One should practise the Mantra along with its Matrikas (proper intonations of the sounds) and others for a period of twelve years;
1.22. Then he gradually obtains wisdom along with the Siddhis, (such as) Anima, etc. Persons of weak intellect who are the least qualified for Yoga practise this.
-> 12 years are the first twelve years in life one is supposed to use memorizing the Upanishads. Thereafter one is to attempt their application and divine the nature of the underlying substratum of the creation called the Brahman. Without the second the first stage is worthless. This is what is meant by “initiate, eventuate, recognize, consummate” in the above.
The first stage of Yoga requires a calm, rational, patient approach to the time series of accomplishments of the path of the yogi. The second, the Laya, the dissolution state, challenges delusions with the truth learned during the first till they are burnt up by the Fire of Observation. Having watched one delusion burn under the scrutiny of the Witness, all delusions must also instantly burn.
1.23-24(a). The (second) Laya-Yoga tends towards the absorption of the Chitta “intentions” and is described in myriads of ways; (one of which is) – one should contemplate upon the Lord who is without parts (even) while walking, sitting, sleeping, or eating. This is called Laya-Yoga.
1.24(b)-25. Now hear (the description of) Hatha-Yoga. This Yoga is said to possess (the following) eight subservients, Yama (forbearance), Niyama (religious observance), Asana (posture), Pranayama (suppression of breath), Pratyahara (subjugation of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana, the contemplation on Hari in the middle of the eyebrows and Samadhi that is the state of equality.
1.26-27. Maha-Mudra, Maha-Bandha “binding to the Self” and Khechari “soaring power of the tongue, of speech to the mind,”, Jalandhara “bearing water”, Uddiyana “soaring up to the heart” and Mula-Bandha “deeply rooted down”, uttering without intermission Pranava (OM) for a long time and hearing the exposition of the supreme truths, Vajroli “male masturbation”, Amaroli “ejaculation” and Sahajoli “female masturbation” which form a triad – all these belong to Raja-Yoga, the yoking of the mind to “male ambitions.”
1.28-29(a). O four-faced one (Brahma), among (the duties of) Yama “the course”, moderate eating – and not others – forms the principal factor; and noninjury is most important in Niyama- what is avoided.
Yama is what we do, Niyama constitutes what we do not do under any circumstances.
Do adopt the intentions of the guru, follow the course he prescribes and study the scriptures and perform yoga in order to be free of delusion, do take care of the sexual and hunger needs of the body in order to keep it happy, do not tolerate violations of the Decrees which protect all from violence.
These together are the One Axiom of Yoga. They are the meeting place between all theories of existence, what is witnessed and what is experienced; what is premeditated by the rules of reality and what actually takes place in the body when the mind is completely tuned in.
Why do we become fascinated with other people, for example? Why is it not enough to say hello or compliment someone's appearance? What makes us want to taste their mouths and feel along the surfaces of their bodies and combine obscene fantasies together?
What falls short in conversation that makes us want to submit to the terms of the body reality with complete surrender, and why did God hide this urge inside all of us?
There is only one way to find out and it is not done by reading books, listening to others, or lowering the blinds of the ego to what is clearly preeminent about life.
To accept this meager proposal at the behest of the guru is to perform kaivalya, the unseating oneself between the former delusory chapters of one's existences and begin one final perfect chapter which tells the story of the discovery of Paratattva, the Supreme Axiom of the Self.

The Yoga Sutras and Jyotish

Namaste,
The Yoga Sutras (some call Yoga Darśana) of Patanjali muni have been discussed on a another post. I thought to add this post on the correlation of his works by chapter and their significance from a Jyotish perspective.
The Yoga Sutras has 4 chapters:
Samadhi pada
Sadhana pada
Vibuthi pada
Kevala pada
It is of great interest to me that these are laid out sequentially and there are 4 chapters. Why not a triad, the traditional 3 that has multiple meanings thought-out Vedic literature? Or why not 5 padas? Let see how this unfolds.
Samadhi pada
The first chapter is aligned with the 1st house of the birth chart. The karaka of the 1st house is the Sun (surya) and is the natural Atmakaraka ( indicator of the Atman, soul) and is all about brightness, the Atman, etc. The 1st house is also a dharma house. The alignment of ultimate dharma is that of Moksha and it is with the light of Surya that it begins.
Within Patanjali's 1st chapter he discusses the natural state of the sadhu and how the seer abides in Itself.
The Seer is pure consciousness and when the Seer abides in itself there is liberation for the sadhu ( sutra 1.3 is being referenced here). Like the 1st house of ones jama-kundali ( birth chart), it is the Atman abiding in Itself and recognized itSELF that brings kevalya. A nice alignment of Patanjali-ji with Jyotish principles.
Sadhana pada
The 2nd chapter of Patanjali has much to do with practice. That is tapas, svadhya, Ῑśvara pranidhāna i.e. kriyā yoga. This whole 2nd chapter aligns nicely to the 2nd bhava ( house) for learning, welfare, and self efforts. The wealth from tapas and self effort is gained.
The 2nd house is an Artha house, one of wealth. We think of monetary wealth, yet along the way to kevalya, spiritual wealth plays more and more of a role in ones life. The karaka of the 2nd house is Jupiter ( Guru). He is associated with gains, learning, achievements, religion no doubt, intelligence the association with a guru, and control over the senses.
Vibuthi pada
The 3rd chapter is about siddhi and the method of samyama. Note that this comes 3rd. After establishing a firm foundation of discipline and understanding who the seer really is, the various practices, found in chapters 1 and 2. But what is interesting to me is why Patanjali chose to call the 3rd chapter Vibhuthi pada.
We know vibhuthi as sacred ash used on the forehead (tilaka). This vibhuthi or विभूति is also the manifestation of might , superhuman ability, and successful issue. This is why Patanjali picked this as the name for his 3rd chapter. It is with siddhi that success and the manifestation of new abilities arise.
The 3rd house has many indications, it is a house of strength, patience and perseverance. It’s a house of advancement which aligns to the development of siddhis. This house is a kama house, that of desires, and fulfilling them. It is by our siddhi (skill in action) in our present level of being that we too fulfill desires.
The karkaka of the 3rd house is Mars. Mars is courage. Mars is also Hanumanji. We hear of Hanumanji's siddhi performance in the Ramayama with Sri Ram, and also in the Mahabharata e.g. becoming large and small, going up to and touching the sun, flying and/or jumping large distances such as to Sri Lanka. Hanumanji owned these abilities, these siddhis and used them accordingly.
Kevala pada
The 4th chapter is all about Kevela or Liberation. How one is liberated even in this lifetime. As is the 4th house in ones chart it is the 1st moksha house ( or bhava) found in the chart and is repeated in the 8th and the 12th bhavas (houses).
The 4th chapter is the result of what takes place in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd chapters. Now the 4th house is a natural Moksha ( Liberation) house. The natural Moksha-karaka is Ketu. The one with no head. People also associate Ganesha with Ketu, as he too had his head cut off ( that of mundane life, the ego, all that) and Ganesha being associated with Moksha.
The 4th house is also a house of the home, owned by Moon (Chandra). Like Moksha, the native is coming home to who he/she really is, the seer, pure consciousness. The 4th house associated with Moon and home, is therefore also associated with peace of mind (moon) at home. I have been told that when one resides in kevalya, all places one may travel is like being at home, because home now resides in you.
Via Moksha, peace of mind is steady and resides in the SELF. The 4th house is also considered the 'throne of judgment' as it receives rasi dristi from the highest point in the chart, that of the 10th house, where the sun at its highest point in the day resides and gives rasi dristi to the 4th house.
Now in Patanjali's 4th chapter, His key sutra ( for me) is 4.25. for one who has realized the distinctive specialty of Purusa ( the SELF) the search for the nature of his SELF ceases. That is, the sadhu has then arrived.
Patanjali then says in sutra 4.29 - On being dis-interested even in omniscience acquired through discriminative knowledge, the all-round discriminative knowledge that ensues, brings about the level of Being known as dharma mega ( or cloud pouring virtue).
This is to say, the sadhu is secure in him-herSELF. This is no appetite for siddhis, for even omniscience, due to all the latent impressions (vasanas) being destroyed like a seed roasted in a fire (Patanjali's metaphor from a few chapters back).
So, with the 4th house ( Moksha bhava) and the 4th Chapter (Kevala pada) the sadhu reaches the source, and brings peace and fullness (Bhuma) to him/herself.
It is with the four aims of life Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha that the brilliance of Patanjali shines though. It is these 4 goals that the birth chart is also composed of: 3 Dharma + 3 Artha + 3 Kama +3 Moksha = 12 bhava or 12 houses in ones chart. Now , why 3? ... perhaps it shows past, present and future.
