Why do you not like the way he draws Starfire? Genuinely curious as I’ve seen that a lot of people don’t like it, but isn’t he just drawing the characters in his own style but based off the original TT show?

my problem is with how the teen titans show drew starfire (which, as you mentioned, is where picolo draws inspiration from). her hair is basically the most recognizable part of her design, and the cartoon removed it. It's a good design, it's just not starfire, y'know? It's a very whitewashed design too

 I was running late. First day on the job and I was already screwing it up. I ran down the street, scrambling to get my things together as I went. I zipped up my boots as I tried to walk, sunglass arm hanging from my lips and I did my best to keep my paperwork from spilling out onto the floor. When I reached the corner of the sidewalk, I sighed; the only thing that could fix this was coffee. ‘ Do I have time?’ I thought as I looked at my watch, blowing my curly bangs off my face. The little white figure appeared on the crosswalk sign and I adjusted my bag over my shoulder. I pushed on as fast as I could to the nearest Starbucks.

   I checked the time on my watch once more when I reached the entrance of the familiar coffee shop and the strong scent of coffee had smacked me hard as I opened the doors. The tables were crowded with students, office workers, and the occasional god awful peppy morning people. The line wasn’t really that long but it was long enough to make me worry about if I could still make it. I huffed as I peered down the line to gauge just how long this was gonna take. That was when he walked in. As he looked up from his phone, I noticed his jawline was sharp and yet he had the chubbiest cheeks. It worked for him. His hair was blonde and silky, cleanly cut and styled. His eyes seemed to bear this permanent seering look but the moment he smiled, his eyes seemed to do the same. They were dark and still so bright at the same time. His stature was lean and solid and he had a very friendly and comforting air about him….

“Hey- picking up an order for Jimin?” I heard him say in a voice softer than I had imagined as the line moved up one.

“Banana smoothie w/ caramel drizzle and a Grasshopper Frappuccino?” the barista asked. He just smiled and nodded pleasantly. The line moved up once more.

“Did you add whipped cream? On the Grasshopper, I mean…. My boss would flip if it wasn’t on there, haha.” He pushed his hair back off of his damn near perfect face and scratched the back of his neck. The line moved again and suddenly he was right in front of me. He smelled nice…so I held my breath.

“Yep, it’s on there.” she said with a smile and he thanked her before he turned to leave.

 I don’t know exactly what it was that took over me but it made me want to step out to talk to him. Internally, I decided against it. But before my body could coordinate with my brain, the boy had tripped over my foot. My mouth hung open with embarrassment as I watched him attempt to save his drinks. And to no avail the spilled onto the floor. I covered up my eyes and groaned.

“No….” I heard him whisper.

‘Oh dear God…’ I thought. Finally it was my turn…

“How can I help you, miss?” the barista asked as his coworkers scrambled to fix the boy a new order and clean up the floor all at once.

“I-I uh….” I looked back and forth between the boy and the barista. I finally turned to the boy and apologized profusely. Expecting him to be furious, he looked up at me and smiled the brightest most beautiful smile I had ever seen.

“Oh it’s no problem. My boss just isn’t gonna be too happy about my timing, ha!” he said.

‘He’s like a living anime character…’

“Oh were you late, too?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he smiled. ��I think you should probably take your order now, haha. The line is starting to get lengthy.”

“Shit, you’re right,” I exclaimed, completely forgetting that I too was on a time crunch and I turned to the barista. “I’m sorry. Could I please get a Smoked Butterscotch Frappuccino with extra extra butterscotch, a few scoops of vanilla bean, and whipped cream? A-And a cheese danish please….”

 He told me my price and I paid it before trudging over to the waiting area where the boy had joined me.

“So where do you work?” he asked me. “Must be somewhere cool, you’re dressed nicely.”

I blushed more than I should’ve. “Mediaskare Records….. A friend got me a job as an intern…. Flew all the way across the country for it.”

“No way, where from?” he asked seeming truly interested.

“Virginia….I had moved around a bit beforehand and I just…..needed a change of scenery.”

“Well there’s plenty of that here. How long have you been here?”

“I just got off the plane last night. Jet lagged as fuuuck.” I laughed nervously. Even though I normally swear like a sailor, I tend to curse ten times more when I get nervous. Although he didn’t seem to mind.

“Well let me be the first to welcome you to the City of Angels,” he bowed and I thanked him with a girlish smile. “So did you move out here with family or….”

“I moved out here with a small group of friends.”

“Oh cool-”

“Jimin Park! Arya Wynn!” we heard a barista call.

“Guess that’s us.” I giggled nervously. He nodded and we retrieved our orders before heading out. He held the door open for me as we exited the cafe and I was prepared to just be on my way until he stopped me.

“You know you’re going the wrong way, right?” he smiled cheekily. I frowned.

“Heh?!” I said scrunching up my face.

“Mediaskare is this way. I know because I pass it every day. I can walk with you if you’d like.” he offered. My heart jumped.

“Uh, yeah….that would be nice- thank you.” I said walking his way and we headed to work together. “I’m Arya by the way…”

“Jimin.” he said simply with a sweet smile. “Pleasure to meet you.”

“Likewise. So where do you work thats so close to my job?”

“Buzzfeed.” he said with a smile as if I weren’t expecting him to say so.

“Oh cool! I always look at buzzfeed stuff. What do you do?” I asked adjusting my sunglasses as I sipped on my extra sweet frappuccino.

“It’s kinda hard to explain, haha. I do a lot of things ranging from videos to quizzes….I do a bit of journalism now and then when it’s a topic I’m passionate about….I tweet memes….” he giggled.

“Sounds like the most laid back job ever.” I grinned. Suddenly my phone rang and my heart damn near stopped when I saw the ID. “Shit! It’s Myke! I’m sorry I gotta take this-”

“No worries. Just keep up and maybe we’ll both get to work at a reasonable time.” he joked. I laughed.We both knew that we were late as sin. I took a deep breath before answering my phone.

“Please don’t hate me, I promise you Myke I am on my way.”

“Mmmhmmm. Look, girly, the only reason Baron isn’t pissed off right now is because I told him you just got off the plane last night so you’re still a little wonky from the time change.” he said and I sighed. “How far away are you right now?”

“I uh….” Just as I looked up, Jimin was pointing to the building that I was assuming was Mediaskare. I mouthed a thank you and he grinned as he waved. ‘Good luck’ he mouthed before turning to run towards his job. “I believe I’m outside the building and currently going in.”

Just as I walked in, I saw Myke’s tall figure talking to me on the phone from a distance. I hung up as he noticed me and he began to walk toward me.

“Starbucks. That’s what took so long?” he grunted, walking me to the board room for a meeting.

“Well, yes and no. It took some time getting up this morning and then I had to twist out my hair and all that- you know how it is- and then I did makeup and I had left the apartment thinking I had done everything and I was scrambling and then I thought yknow ‘oo coffee’ and here we are.” I explained. I purposely left out the bit about Jimin for fear of his jealousy.

 Myke was as close to a boyfriend as I could get without putting a label on it. Friends with benefits if you must. He was six foot even and had a smile so big you could see it from the moon. His hair was natural and kinda halfway between dreads and a fro. I didn’t understand it but looked good to me. His body was toned and covered in tattoos and he had a nose ring. He was the very thing I tried to stay away from but lord knows my type will show up regardless of what the hell I want. I met him at a concert that my sister brought me to for my birthday. He was the lead singer of a band that opened up for my favorite band. We talked after the show, one thing lead to another, and the next thing I know, he was in my inbox daily. He would occasionally hit me up and ask if I wanted to go on a leg of the tour with him and I would. Over the course of a year and a half, life had gotten in the way and I couldn’t focus with all the drama. Past and present. So I left. I asked Myke if he knew of any places hiring and he ended up getting me a job as an intern at the label he’s under. Just until I get a hang of things and decide what I wanna do as a permanent job. I definitely didn’t want to be there by myself tho. Fortunately I had Briahna who agreed to move with me on account of being closer to her family in Seattle. And right behind her was her whipped puppy dog of a boyfriend Carlos. My friend Zac also came just for the adventure. He had family in L.A. who owned a complex so getting a studio wasn’t all that hard. We didn’t have it all the way figured out yet but I knew life there was gonna be easy. I could just feel it.

“You ready for this, baby girl?” Myke asked me as we reached the doors of the board room, circling his long decorated arms around my thin waist. He kissed my cheek briefly and I smiled.

“Well I can’t back out the shit now, can I?” I groaned.

“Nope.” he replied shaking his head with a wide toothy grin. I smirked. He was adorable when he wanted to be. He backed away and held the door open for me with a sincere smile. “Good luck, darlin’.” And with that, I walked in to begin my first day of work.
