Currently renovating the studio (putting down some more craft friendly floors), and I've been unable to sculpt for a few days. So, instead of posting my usual content, let's talk about packaging. I typically use the double boxing method when shipping my pieces. I wrap the piece in tissue paper, then "float" it inside a bigger box with packaging paper. The trick is to get enough paper to keep the piece from getting jostled around, but not too much so that any pressure on the box crushes the piece. Unfortunately, sometimes circumstances are out of your control. As you can see in the picture above, the US Postal Service did a number on one of my recent packages, and this right here is exactly why I always ship priority for all my domestic parcels. Yes, it is more expensive, but it covers both myself and my client in the event a package must be used in self-defense against a yeti (which he obviously the only reason a package could be this badly damaged during transit). Miraculously, the piece DID survive and somehow arrived unbroken to the client! Thank goodness for double boxing! Oh, and all orders will be shipping out tomorrow, hopefully their journey is much less eventful. #themoreyouknow #ibelieveinmiracles #yetiattack #usps #wow
