The 66th Edition of the Grammys was held yesterday night and if you missed them, let me tell you, you probably missed the most eventful soiree of the year (and it’s only February!) Luckily for you, we have made a summary with the biggest events. And the biggest revelation: THE QUEEN HAS FINALLY FOUND HER KING. You heard correctly — singer Amara Imani and star French footballer Kylian Mbappé are dating and went public last night. And let us tell you, we’d all probably be dying to have a relationship announced the way they did.

They didn’t just show up on the red carpet like ex-boyfriend Henderson had done back then with girlfriend Kaia Gerber — the singer decided to show up at the Grammys alone, steal all the spotlight and leave the red carpet with her beau. THE BIGGEST WINNER OF THE NIGHT WAS CERTAINLY HER.

Next to stunning the audience with five different (and absolutely dashing) dresses, Amara Imani was also the big winner of the ceremony, sweeping off the most important prizes such as record of the year, album of the year and four more. Her biggest surprise though was singing an unreleased song during her performance where she dedicated all to her love, shocking the world.

And she certainly did more than just that. With winning six grammys in one night, Amara Imani set herself next to artists Beyonce and Adele, who are the only other artists to win six grammys in one night. But to be honest, we are still all mesmerized by her last performance.

Imani opened and closed the grammys with her two performances (wild side/hrs&hrs, while we’re young) but the last one will probably be the one to go down in the history of the grammys. The one we’ll still talk about in ten years. She started — of course — with a thank you speech after winning ‘album of the year’ but not without giving the credit not only to her team and family but also to her new muse, who, we quote, “not only inspired me to keep going but also helped me write this whole love letter to love.” When she was then set to perform, the african singer changed tracklist and asked her boyfriend to join her on stage, who with a little persuasion joined her up there. The couple danced together as Imani sang, swaying to the soft tune of the music.

We can all agree that they were the attraction of the night with the way paparazzis and journalists were launching at them as they walked out, hand-in-hand. and of course the Grammys were carried by the french star striker.

And their looks were certainly enough. If that is not love, we truly do not know what is. Let’s all give praise to love and hope these two will last very long.

a/n: this is my first request, was kinda nervous ngl but i hope you like it. also sorry I took so long to get it out, I just finished my finals today. 😭 I did tweak your prompt a little and if this isn’t what you had an mind you could always send me a message of what you wanted exactly, I don’t mind <3 (not revised)

“We don’t want to play with you, Mar. It’s a boy thing only so leave us alone and get out of the room….you’re being annoying! you’ve been following us all day” Aaron yelled at Amara. Jack had just bought him a little racing track so he had begged for you to plan a play date with his friends from school so they could test it out. Amara was use to being the first person Aaron shared his new things with so it hurt that he hadn’t asked her first, but what truly hurt her the most now was that her brother had yelled at her. Bickering was an everyday thing with them but they had never actually gotten into an argument where they said or did something to hurt one another.

“Fine, I didn’t want to play with your dumb toy anyways” Amara said kicking one of his toy cars, breaking some parts off. She made her way out the play room but not before sending Aaron and his friends a smile and a cheerful bye.

The one thing about Amara was that she didn’t like showing people when she was hurt, expressing her feeling through words rather than keeping it bottled up was something you guys had been trying to teach her.

She made her way to the back yard where you and Jack sat around the bonfire pit talking with some of the other parents.

“Hey baby, everything ok?” Jack asked Amara as she climbed onto his lap.

“yeah, i’m just tired” she lied snuggling into his chest.

“you sure everything’s ok Mar, do you feel sick?” you ask as you feel her forehead to see if she was warm.

“i’m ok, mommy” she said once more but you knew something was off. You didn’t want to pressure her into saying anything especially in-front of everyone so you decided to wait until they left which wasn’t very long since it was getting kind of late.

“alr missy. want to tell me what’s actually wrong now?” you ask her as you carry her inside after picking up.

“it’s nothing mommy, I promise” she said shoving her face into the your neck.

“can I sleep with you and daddy tonight, please” she said lifting her head up to give you those big blue puppy eyes, you couldn’t say no to.

“of course, baby. you wanna have a movie night?” you ask her.

“yess, can we please watch The Princess Diaries?”

“sure, i don’t think Aaron will want to watch that tho. let’s go get him and see” you laugh putting her down.

“no, I don’t want him there. just you, me and daddy”

“why don’t you want him there?” you ask looking down at her.

“just. I want to spend time with only you and daddy” she says crossing her arms.

Jack walks into the living room and notices Amara’s frown.

“what’s going on here?” Jacks asks walking up to you guys. “why do you have a stink face?”

“she wants to sleep with us” you say.

“what’s the problem with that” he asks confused.

“she doesn’t want Aaron there” you tell him making his face go from confused to surprised since the twins had never asked to do anything where they had to be apart from each other.

“why is that, baby?” Jack asks Amara squatting next to her. He noticed her eyes getting glossy.

“I don’t want to talk about it, daddy. can we just please go watch a movie together” she asks letting out a sigh.

“we can but we have to ask your brother too. it’s not nice if we leave him out” Jack explains to her.

“alright” she says embracing jack into a hug so he could pick her up. You and Jack share a look while walking up stairs, you both knew something happened between them but you couldn’t possibly think of a reason why.

knock knock knock

“hey buddy can we come in?”Jack asks knocking on the twins shared bedroom. There was no response so jack knocked once more before opening the door slowly. To your guys surprise Aaron was tucked in and asleep in his bed or so you thought. Aaron had actually heard Amara say that she didn’t want him there for the movie night which really hurt him. He had felt bad for yelling at his sister but he didn’t think she wouldnt want to be around him anymore. He wanted to go apologize but he was too hurt; when he heard that you guys were going up to ask him to have a movie night, he decided to go back to their bedroom and pretend to be alseep since he knew that his sister didn’t want him there.

“A guess it’s just us three tonight” Amara says looking at you and jack. You both take turns saying you’re good nights to Aaron then head toward your guys room.

Next morning

“morning daddy. morning mommy” Amara said as she got out from under the bed sheets.

“good morning” you chuckle, looking at her crazy bed head.

“morning, sunshine. why you up so early?” Jack says pulling her down embracing her in a big hug.

“can we please go to Disney today?” she says giving Jack her puppy eyes and a pout “you promised me that when you came back from your last show we would go.”

Jack looks over to you, causing Amara to do the same.

“can we please go mommy! I’ll give you 1000 kisses and cuddles whenever you want. I’ll even give you massage” you laugh at her negotiation.

“alright, you convinced me”

“yayyy thank you. thank you” “I’ll start now” she says getting away from Jack and jumping onto you attacking you with kisses.

“ok silly girl, let’s go get your brother” you say making her face drop into a frown.

“what is it Mar, did something happen with Aaron yesterday? remember what we said about keeping our feelings inside” Jack asked.

Amara nodded and as soon as she opened her mouth to finally tell jack why she was upset with her brother there was a knock on the door.

“come in” you say. “good morning” Aaron says making his way to the bed, Amara moved back into Jack lap.

“good morning” you smile at him.

“good morning, buddy” Jack says.

Amara just looked at him with a sadden expression and said nothing.

“Amara what do you say when you’re told good morning” you ask.

“morning” she says looking down.

“alright, what’s going on between you guys?”

Both the twin now sat in-front of you and jack on the bed, looking down trying to avoid eye contact.

“who’s going to start?” you ask.

“l-I said some mean things to Mar yesterday, but I promise I didn’t mean it” Aaron says, his lips quivering as he gets a little emotional. He looks over to Amara, making her start crying.

“now why would you do that, baby?” you ask him.

“she kept following us and asking if she could play with my race track” he said.

“that’s no reason to say mean things Aaron” Jack tells him a sternly tone.

“i know” he said looking down.

“he yelled at me and said I was annoying daddy. it hurt my feelings” Amara said now sobbing into jacks chest.

“and you hurt mine when you told mommy that you didn’t want me with you guys for movie night yesterday” Aaron said now crying.

“you were awake?” he nodded, moving himself to cry into your chest.

“alright, neither of the things you guys said or did yesterday were ok and now your both hurt. do you guys think your ready to apologize to each other or do you guys need more time?” you ask them.

Both the twins pull back from your guys chest and they turn to look at each other. “i’m ready” they both sob out at the same time, making them giggle though their tears.

“I’m sorry Mar for not sharing and yelling at you. I promise you’re not really that annoying” he says making Amara playfully glare at him, you all chuckle.

“Sorry for saying that I didn’t want you at movie night, I like having you there, you always make me laugh” she says sending her brother a smile which he returns.

“give me a hug, ugly” Amara tells him with open arms.

“Amara” you say giving her a look for the pet name she used.

“what i’m just playing” she giggles. Aaron crawls over to her and embraces her into a hug and starts tickling her. “stoppp” she laughs.

“Alright, now that you guys are best friends again, it’s time to go get ready so we can head out.” you tell them.

“where are we going?” Aaron asks confused.

“we’re going to Disney” Amara replied excitedly.

“really?” Aaron asked with wide eyes.

“Yes. now go get ready” Jack says chuckling.

The twins jump off the bed and run to their room excitedly.

“Walk” you yell out.

You turn to Jack and he’s already looking at you.

“You can give me my morning kiss now” he says poking his lips out, you chuckle and make your way to his side of the bed.

You give him a quick peck on the lips and pull away to get up “no what the hell was that, I need a real one” he says pulling you back down so you layed on on top of him.

“ I need to go help the twins get ready. I don’t want to leave too late” you tell him.

“yes we’ll go after a real kiss” you shake your head but lean down to give him an actual kiss anyways. He flips you guys around so he was now on top, trapping your body under him so he could deepen the kiss; you guys were having a full on make out session at this point. Jack began kissing down you neck but as much as you were enjoying this you knew you had to stop him.

“as much as really want to continue this, we have to go get ready” you tell him out of breathe.

“we have the pass. we can literally get there at any time and still enjoy a few rides” he says.

“no we promised them a whole day there, plus we go back to Louisville in two week so this will be our last time going for a couple months. (They have a home in California and Kentucky)

“fine let’s go” he says playfully rolling his eyes.

You and jack make your way over to the twins room but stop at the door frame, they didn’t notice you guys there.

“You know we never actually got to play with the track, I was too upset about the car so I asked if they just wanted to play with legos. If you want we can try it out tomorrow. I have exactly four cars so we can all play”

“yeah! also thanks for not telling on me about the car. ”

“your welcome. I was pretty mean yesterday, so i’m sorry, again” Aaron said looking at his sister

“it’s ok, I was mean. too”

“even?” Aaron asks her.

“yeah” Amara says laughing “I love you.”

“love you too” Aaron replies giggling and embracing his sister in another hug.

You stand there with tears in your eyes seeing how fast they were growing. The twins hear your small sniffles and turn to the door.

“mommy, whats wrong?” they ask you. “nothing it’s just that you guys are growing up so fast” you tell them squatting down to their height.

“come here” you tell them and they run into your arms. You give them a tight hug then pull away. “we really need to start getting ready now. let’s go start a bath.” “we filled the tub already, we just had to wait for you” Aaron said.

“okay thanks for waiting, you guys can go in. we’ll be there in a minute” you tell them.

The twins make their way to bathroom, bickering about what bubble scent they wanted.

You turn to Jack and pull him into a hug. “I think I want to start trying again. you trying put another baby in me, Harlow?” He looks down at you with a huge smile, he had wanted to start trying again since the twins turned two but you didn’t feel prepared at the time.

“I can do that” he smirks. “you think your mom can watch them tonight? We have to finish what we started earlier” he whined making you laugh.

“yeah i’ll call her” you saying getting on your tip toes to give him a quick kiss. Jack tried moving his hands from the small of your back to your ass but you pushed them always since the twins were technically in the same room.

“stop. go shower, while I finish bathing the twins” you say pulling away. “I want to come back home as soon as possible” you tell him.

“how about I help you get them ready; we’ll put a movie on for them then we go shower together” he says smirking again.

“we’re not conceiving our child in the shower”

“whats wrong with that , if I recall that’s where the twins were conceived”

“no, they weren’t idiot”

“they weren’t? where we’re the conceived then?” he asked teasingly. He knew exactly where and when, he just loved seeing how you got all red and flustered when he brought it up.

“go shower” you tell him pushing him out the room.

“alright. alright” he throws both his hands up “I love when you get all feisty” he saying smacking your ass while biting his lip.

You shake your head and make your way to the bathroom, with a huge grin. The thought of carrying another one of his children made your heart swell, he was truly the best father and husband anyone could ask for, you couldn’t get any luckier.

Good question. I liked this simblr who was on Youtube and she mentioned she had a tumblr account so I created a Tumblr so I could follow her story and then I fell down the rabbit hole and decided to create my own as well. 

Why did you choose your icon? 

My last icon was my first render of Queen Mary. But now it’s My Queen, Amara. Why? Because she’s my Queen. Gogo knows why!

Why did you choose your header image? 

When I started my blog, I had maany royal families, so it was only appropriate for my header to be a group shot of all of them. Things have changed since then, so I’ll be changing the header soon.

to be completely honest, I decided to do this entirely for TSJ. otherwise, I wouldn’t have bothered at all. Best end lists are for music nerds and billboard chart nerds and industry vultures, and i happen to be subscribed, in the discord and in the comments of the youtube vids of these folk. so, i decided to pick 10 out of random from the big best of 2020 i was compiling for the whole of the year, which I was gonna post to this Tumblr at the end of the damn year, but I guess I can just post the link to the playlist in the bottom of this post. Here, i’m gonna write about 10 songs I personally love, and pick out a few artists i specifically loved:

artist of the year.

RAP Ferreira put out his best album and best verses in a year everybody either stagnated, fell off or got rendered irrelevant by the world at large. He was ebullient, hilarious, thoughtful and even surprisingly honest. I enjoyed the fact that now he’s begun to create a real platform for many talented folx, and I hope he continues to do that in the margins and make even more beautiful music in the years to come.

rookie of the year.

Enny by a mile. Everybody else who debuted this year got hamstrung by the pandemic but she created 3 great songs, each thoughtful, insightful and a joy. Apparently she just started publicly releasing music to a large audience, and I hope she gets better and better, and even gets bigger than J-

most pleasant surprise.

Vic Mensa’s V Tape. An artist who I though had no more moves left completely turned around his whole career with a fantastic performance at Lollapalooza, a fantastic fleet of features and tis gorgeously produced EP which had some of his most brilliant songs on it. I love it all, Vic Mensah is well and truly back. Welcome back bro. (ALSO, DROP THE DRILL TRACK.)

1 - RAP Ferriera - An Idea Is A Work Of Art (ft. Mike Ladd) [prod. by Kenny Segal, mr. carmack and Mike Parvizi]

I know, I know. In all honesty Doldrums should be here. Then Noz put it on his best list and I had to be all ChiTown Go-Getter and pick the next better thing: this. And in all honesty, it has the best lyric RAP spits on the album: “we build better answers.” But it’s not just that, it’s RAP’s most animated performance, the most dexterous piece on the whole album and the most gorgeous beat, a loping bassline sliding behind the flatfooted drum, allowing Mike Ladd, his musical father, to gently drift through, saying, “what if royalty depised us?” and knowing the only gold is soul and giving it to all of us, all us maggots and vultures and locusts and weevils, to hold to the light so we can finally see. On the quest to get open and free, we continue.

2 - Chika - U Should [prod. by Lido]

I heard this the night it dropped and shot 2 insta videos playacting as it played. But apart from that, it’s a intimate, beautiful song about getting to know a new lady love, so tenderly sung it might melt and disappear if not held gently, with a sweeping guitar lick and purring trumpets sliding all over the place, Chika softly holding each frayed piece together into a considered, gorgeous piece - wait, she’s talking her shit.

3 - Issa Gold - Boys Don’t Cry [prod. by Kingjet & Sherwyn and Matt Zara]

The only reason this isn’t number one is because it dropped on Christmas Eve. But otherwise, it’s a openheart letter to us all. “it’s a lonely path being different,” Issa says, swimming in the melted ice caps as he once danced happily on the edges of melting glaciers that failed to drown him, looking at the world that keeps hurting his heart, yet he still opens his eyes and smiles, and dances. The heavy drums are so bouncy the whole song suddenly flies, formerly a hidden murmur becoming a bright sunlit flight across the sky so we can all see. I can’t wait to see Tempus, if it’s anything as good as this was.

4 - Deante Hitchcock - Growing Up/Mother God [prod. by Brandon Phillips-Taylor]

In all honesty, “Growing Up” is really not the best song on Better. It’s a sweet, happy song with a smooth, crackling bassline with soft, ghostly synths, but still kinda ok. It’s the song added at the end, “Mother God”, that has warm, sizzling piano chords and gorgeous singing in the back. It’s one of the few time I’ve ever heard a man pay homage to the woman in his life and to the God above while being entirely sincere and not faking the funk. The way he praises his mom, his lady, remembering the women in his family taking care of him and him foolishly neglecting Breonna due to his overburdened mind feels full of details, remembrances, explanations and praises. Plus, it actually makes sense that God, if she exists (she does) is a woman since -

5 - Yana Perrault - whiskey and weed [prod. by slate]

Apparently, Yana Perrault is verified now. Excellent. {YES YES MY GOD YESS}, It means more folks know about how great this song, and Yana herself is. If I had any sense, I would’ve written up 12:21 as the best song of 2018, but such is life. Anyway, we have this smooth, bass heavy slinker with shimmering percussion and lumbering drums about hooking up with a former flame who’s “sober” yet keeps on calling Yana to break their sobriety, “know we ain’t talked in a while but you still know my address,” she wryly mentions. As the beat sprints away under a warm cocoon of accapella echoes, it mirrors a relationship so tenuous it might disappear into the wind. Yet still strong enough to have whiskey on call.

6 - Marlon Craft - Culture Sick Freestyle [prod. by Cormill]

Apparently this was supposed to be a shot at Flex. And since Flex is a woman beater and a lame, good for him. Shouldn’t have even gone on Flex to be honest, but then again neither should Jay Critch or Tyler or Black Thought and besides, I watch those freestyles too. And on the freestyle, Marlon frankly put things in perspective. “You don’t want us to better, you just want to be cool still.” This describes all of rap media to be real. And tellingly, it only has 310,000 views. Methinks nobody really wants real. But I do. Thank u Marlon, you continue to be the best white rapper alive. (Nowhere near the best rapper tho, and if Token hadn’t fell off -)

7 - Miah - Cascades [prod. by Cedes]

I’m sideeyeing the boy Miah cuz I had to search up his Audiomack to find the producer’s name (it’s Cedes, and they have a really great avalanche of Drake Type Beats is you like that kind of thing). Were you trying to trick folk into thinking you produced it yourself? You don’t need to do that shit. Especially since you’re writing stuff like “back in high school all my peers were tryin to hit the league / until the league too far from reach so they tap dancing over beats.” When you can frankly break down life that clearly, don’t be trying to hide producer’s names unless you actually learn to produce too. Plaster your name all over that shit.

8 - Justine Darcenne - Off Days [prod. by Mikhail Miller] / Enny - Peng Black Girls (ft. Amia Brave [prod. by Paya]

Justine is indeed my classmate, but that’s not why this song is here. it’s here because it’s a nice little guitar driven song with a spellbinding bridge that’s the best thing I’ve heard her do yet. And I’mma keep it short cuz I already wrote this up at the Singles Jukebox.

Enny released this soft, cushiony record with washed out synths over bulky drums and floated FLOATED over them without even trying to run in the tar, saying frankly, “He said to me, 'they put guns in the streets, that’s what they wanted for me.’ And I said, ‘G, someone can fix you a plate but no one can force you to eat.’” After all, why not try to live for something greater than what the world has expected you to be. And Amia sings, “We’re gon be alright, ok?” with the joy and excitement of someone realizing the words coming alive on their tongue. One of the best songs of this miserable year, and it’s kinda funny watching Jorja accidentally Drake out Amia and even Enny (and by funny I mean irritating.)

9 - Tobi Lou - okay (ft. Dreezy) [prod. by Matteo Woods & Dilip]

Fun fact: Dilip did some great songs with Otxhello, a producer who recorded and mixed 2 records on my first album. That again is not why this song is here. The warm, swinging synths and heavy, bouncy drums are why this is here. Oh, and Tobi’s goofy, silly lyrics and his surprisingly effective Missy Elliott tribute are great too. But obviously, the verse that vaulted this into top 10 was Dreezy, which opens with such a openhearted line, “i can’t help it, it’s too hard to say I’m sorry.” And every line is harder than the last, until she closes with “and I ain’t talkin frontals but we got the city sown up.” Absolutely amazing.

10 - Strongman Burner - Pilolo (ft. KelvynBoy) [prod. by Nixie]

The sweet, gooey synths are poured over the soft, zipping and smooth drums as the wiry bass whirls between Kelvyn’s soft, thin crooning as Stoneman tap dances over the drums, both desperate and defiant, trying to salvage a sinking relationship that he knows is already gathering coral and snappers. It’s the best afropop song of the year and yet it still has a Nigerian on it (well, I put 4 Nigerians on here, next year I’m rectifying that.) And they even did a song together last year , not as good as this. At all. (still pretty good tho.)

Cas was always a man who “stunk of fear and self-loathing” (S11 Amara) but constantly strived to be brave for Dean’s sake over previous seasons.

He hates fearing things.

Fearing monsters who may take Dean (Sam, and Jack) away from him. Fearing that he’s inadequate. Fearing that he’s a blunt tool of expendability to the Winchesters. Fearing that he doesn’t belong with them...that perhaps they made some gravely misinformed error by letting such a failure—a broken, win-less, fallen angel—into their home. Fearing that Dean doesn’t love him back, yet he knows he would CHOOSE DEAN over and over and over again (Cas to Empty!Cas: “I will fight even if it takes an eternity and we both go crazy. Release me.”)

As of 04 Cas has set fire to his fears, burning them (*nods to 01 fire symbolism*) and rising up as a Reborn sun.

*Dean’s “What gets burned stays dead” in 04 referenced Cas’ burning body in 01 (which hammered the reality that Cas is perma-dead inside Dean’s mind) and it can also foreshadow his reaction to Cas coming back. Remember, Dean’s rock bottom hopeless; Cas “is a huge piece in turning Dean around again”. I expect heart-stopping “NO WAY” stares and angry, wary, surprised, shocked, purely RELIEVED emotions playing across Dean’s face.

I mean, Cas looks so good. *rubs hands together*

(Seriously, I ADORE how it’s freaking SUNNY AGAIN. Sunshine has returned!!)

And I wonder if Empty!Cas sent him to a different Earth because he was so annoyed by his Winchester-persistence lol, though I think he is absolutely back on real Earth with PURPOSE: to raise Jack, love Dean, and support Sam. We may not see Cas again until the end of 05(?) (possible phone booth call?) and his return to his family in 06. This begs the question of whether or not Cas encounters more enemies who hold him back / needs to find out where he is like we chatted about yesterday.

AH I’M LIVING—SAM was once again another KEY exposition in textualizing ‘Dean is mirroring his father because he lost the love of his life Cas and he’s taking it out on Jack just like John lost Mary then took it out on his kids” and conjoining the Dean–John–Sam/Sam–Dean–Jack parallels inside one seamless scene/overall episode, further pushing (no, shoving) them to the narrative surface.

In this incredible grief therapy-driven ep where the brothers USED THEIR WORDS, HOPELESS Dean asked Sam TO BELIEVE FOR HIM because he ‘lost [faith in] everything’ re: Cas versus OPTIMISTIC & HOPEFUL Sam who WANTS TO BELIEVE MARY IS ALIVE–who intends to guide Jack into the throes of goodness, self-worth, and free choice.

Perez, Dabb et al did a phenomenal damn job in maintaining the textual establishment of previous subtext/the textual progression of Sam’s Mary-centred grief vs. Dean’s Cas-centred grief from 01–03. Omfg we don’t even need to write meta on this; all of it is there.

This is how you fastidiously and effectively reinforce past subtext/narratives to construct the present, stacking bright patterned bricks and metal framework atop pre-existing layers until you complete the whole house.

We’re at this point, people!!
