Only included DR, SDR2, NDRV3 - we'd be here forever if it was the entire franchise. Also only accounting for their ingame default outfits

The placements on each tier is deliberate, the closer the character is to the top of that tier, the higher they are. I judge them by: >Prominence of the Talent, its practicality >Relevance to the character's identity/personality >Colour and aesthetics :]

[S-TIERS]

Like Gundham for example is an S-Tier design as it ticks all above boxes whilst still in a school uniform. The Four Dark Devas are important to the design, they go with him everywhere and the 5 of them are a UNIT which shows his strong connection with animals. I love the bandages and the eye-scar as it has a double meaning that indicates yes he works with animals (they can be rowdy), but as a character Gundham builds onto this detail using these scars to create this dark angsty facade. Aesthetic-wise by his hair he has a unique character silhouette, and I like how his purple is made the focal point by the blacks and whites of his uniform... both reinforcing the villain-facade and highlighting the importance of the Four Dark Devas.

Similar reasonings for the other Top 2 of Souda and Miu this time toppled with the strong yellows and pinks in their design. It's eye-catching and easily conveys what their talent is. (I really wish they kept Miu's promo-art backpack into her regular sprites, imagine her emoting with 4 arms isn't that awesome >:] )

Honorable mention to Impostor (Twogami) as well. While the regular Togami design is... mid. I really appreciate how contrasting Impostor's colours and accessories are down to the necktie and poses! Like yes they are impersonating Togami, but their values and personality as a person are not the same. The deception of Togami's dark clothing vs honest white suit of the Impostor's. Impostor fucking CLEARS regular togami any day on all accounts I will die on that hill.

[GOOD CHARACTER DESIGN]

A lot of the talent indications on this tier are more subtle in compare to S-tier but they get the job done and they do it in a pleasing way (I like the colour palettes on Chiaki, Mikan and Ibuki for example). Like I loveeee Sonia's uniform especially for it's simplicity. And yet the design still alludes to the Princess talent by elegance in the bow, the brooch, her crowned braid and how the shape of her skirt resembles that of a puffy princess gown. I also think the reds in the design like Snow White are a cute touch!

To me, Sonia should be the standard in what a Danganronpa design SHOULD be in accordance to detail.

[BAD CHARACTER DESIGN]

[ie the Green and Blue tiers] Reasoning why I put them here mainly because of wasted potential, either too basic (in a sense it doesn't tell much about that character) or not practical in any way for their talent... I HATE Ryoma's stripe leggings ik he went to prison but the execution of the concept looks awful.

And I hate Akane's and Sakura's outfits particularly cuz you KNOW why they made those skirts so short and I hate that. We could have gotten awesome gymnast of martial artist outfits but no......

I added Kiibo in that bottom tier because structurally even as a robot he is a visual nightmare if you're an artist trying to draw him. Especially when most of his suit is different shades of black and complicated chest cavity. And I despise the way that it looks like these robo-plates are attached on top of what looks like fabric long sleeves and pants as if the designer was too scared to fully commit to him being a robot. He is NOT 3D-optimised and he is NOT animator-friendly I'd throw up if I ever had to deal with him.

​Oh it's SUCH a thing that's constantly on their mind and has shaped who they are. I was going to just write a short reply but this turned into a whole long thing rip.

Like, from day one with Althyran, all they wanted was like, the idyllic fairytale life and happily ever after, they very much wanted and constantly imagined that future, of marrying Althyran and having children with him. In their mind, they had gone through so much suffering, and this was the happily ever after, where Althyran is the prince charming who saves them.

Of course, this dream was quickly complicated as it became more and more clear that Althyran was using them and taking advantage of their desire for that happily ever after. But they pushed away doubts because before Althyran and his help, they had nothing and no standing, and now they were on the rise and being respected more in the circle. This was their happy ending, they had nothing before, so they should be grateful.

Before the attack, freshly 19, Althyran did start hinting at the possibility of marriage between them sometime in the future, which was something they clung to. And when they learned they were with child, something that they hadn't been sure was entirely possible, it seemed like. Yes. Everything is finally okay, they had been through so much hardship and had come from nothing, but now they were going to have a child and get married, like Regular People do.

However, a tiny part of them was... hesitant? Because their relationship with Althyran was not always idyllic, and while the two had gotten together somewhat recently, Althyran was quite against being public about their relationship. And part of them has begun to wonder a bit about, what do they want, really? Is it different from what Althyran wants? Is the picturesque life they've imagine and longed for what they want, or do they want it because it's something straight out of a fairytale and it's the only context they have for what a Normal Life is?

So perhaps for that reason, they didn't tell Althyran they were pregnant, and planned to tell him later, especially if he didn't want their relationship to be public.

And then... the owlbear attack. They technically die. And so does their chances of not just having that child, but any child. And then Althyran quite publically shames them and denies that there's anything between them. And Majexatli, stripped of their status and all the love and respect they now realize was conditional, flees from the circle and Althyran.

Yet, even so, they cannot stop their preoccupation with What Could Have Been. What if they had done something different? What if they had escaped the attack relatively unscathed?

Majexatli realizes that it's quite possibly, and in fact likely, that Althyran never cared for them. Not only that, but he might have puposefuly lead them to what he knew could have been their death. They understand its possible he saw them as just something he could manipulate and get to do whatever he wanted, and discarded them once they were no longer useful enough.

BUT deep down, Majexatli wonders if they could have done something to win him over. The fact it's likely he knowingly hurt them just makes them wonder more and more if it was their fault and they could have done something differently and gotten the happily ever after he promised. If they could have done something to change his mind, make him realize he cares about them.

They grapple with that, and then years later, against their better judgement, they keep tabs on their old circle and Althyran. And they learn he's happily married and has children. And Majexatli can't stop themselves from thinking that could have been me.

And it just eats away at them.

Majexatli thinks too often about what if they had done something different, if they did get to give birth to his child. They think about what the child would be like, what their life would be like. A druid, with a husband and children, still loved by Silvanus, with flowers in their hair.

I think I said somewhere that Majexatli's fatal flaw is that they carry around the corpse of the person they used to be and the the life they could have had, and that really is the case. As they see it, they had a single chance at happily ever after, and they lost it. And now they've spent so much of their life mourning for a life they never had. Their benchmark for happiness will always be the life they never got to live.

Not only that, but they have to live knowing the person who hurt them, the person they could have had a life with, is out there happy and unbothered and living the life they will never have.

I also think I shared a snippet from a fic I was working on, and while I ended up scrapping the line, it just sums up how Majexatli feels succinctly.

“If I was a good person, I would be out somewhere with a husband and children instead of alone hundreds of miles away with a parasite in my brain, tearing flesh apart with my teeth to try and fill emptiness that festers in me,"

When it comes to age gaps between characters that are like 16-19? That's not the end of the world for me, because to me at least, it is the age range of High schoolers. Those starting and happen to date a student that's about to graduate. Despite that, I can't deny it is in some kind of grey area. so I'd rather not do it.

          DRAGONS OF HYRULE & VOLVAGIA’S FATE.

Although they’ve been mighty beasts that more than once have given trouble to the land regardless of the timeline, they were meant to be protectors. Their kind and gentle nature shows their devotion to the well being of Hyrule and its people, and yet with their great power there’s still only so much they can do. They remain vigilant, watching over and observing what is it that threatens their land --- each beast is given a place and / or race to serve as guardian, and in most cases they are welcomed and seen as deities. Being pure spirits it wouldn’t be too far off of them to be such thing.

They get involved when they can, ridding of those who pose as a threat or causing great destruction knowing their people would be the one to survive. And of course, they also aid the hero on their quest with useful items or materials that could help Link succeed on their next mission, as well as words of wisdom the dragons could share if possible. The language they speak is ancient, ever changing and evolving though there’s still one dialect that keeps them all connected. The hero will only understand them should they decide to speak in a language known by Hylians.

• Faron, Eldin, and Lanayru. Three great dragons that helped the Goddess’ chosen one all in a different way; Faron, spirit and guardian of the woods, allowing them to swim. Eldin, spirit and protector of the province named after him, putting the hero to the test with a mighty volcano eruption. Lanayru, spirit and keeper of the region of his name, giving Link different items should they prove themselves. All of them helped the hero in a different way, as well as proved themselves guardians of The Song of the Hero which would only be revealed after Link proved to be worthy.

• Valoo, the great spirit of the skies, guardian of the Rito tribe. He shares wisdom with the brave little hero who had helped him. His real power revealed with the chaos that was befalling on the peaceful island and yet, his language kept sacred, there was nothing he could do but to wait for Link’s help. A matter of luck and yet still meant to be. The sky spirit also shows his power when destroying Ganon’s tower, timing being the key to such act as the consequences of doing it before that very moment were too great to risk it. He’s also known to help the Rito grow their wings by giving them one of his scales, an appropiate reward for the brave ones that dared approach him even when there’s nothing they should fear about him.

• Dinraal, Farosh, and Naydra. Three peaceful dragons named after the Goddesses themselves. Although their existence might be whispered among different regions, truth is they can only be seen by those blessed by Hylia. It’s not about being worthy or the chosen one, but simply blessed. And although that is no secret, their shadows and overall presence can still be seen and felt by everyone. They’re deities, watching over their own regions and letting their own nature help on its own, be it with powerful drafts or strong element attacks that also serve them as protection. They do not mean to hurt those who mean well, remaining neutral while still being guardians. Their own bodies able to heal and regenerate after giving materials to those who dare get them, as if it were a challenge and a test, and in some cases they can help give abilities. A strong example being the Zora helm and greaves, made with dragon scales and improving the ability to swim.

• Argorok, a twili dragon corrupted by the Mirror of Twilight itself and dragged to Hyrule’s skies as a threat. The beast had remained neutral, not a guardian yet not a monster. A creature who’s spirit was so easily taken over by ill power, taken advantage to the point it led to its own death. It lived in a different realm, a creature no one would speak of as there was no reason to ever do so, peaceful yet almost kept a secret.

• Volvagia, spirit of the mountain. A subterranean lava dragon who wasn’t meant to be on the volcano’s surface at all, dragged out of his own true habitat and forced into a life that was not meant for him. There’s nothing he could do to complain, far too young to understand why it was wrong to be taken by the Gorons, his pure spirit tainted from that very moment of ‘kindness’ from the rock-like creatures. 

Dragons are not meant to be too involved with those they protect; their spirits, while pure and powerful, were still too easy to corrupt. Some are able to fight the evil power and resist against it, such as Valoo who didn’t suffer from helping the Rito or Naydra who could still be saved from the malice that started to plague his being.

In Volvagia’s case it was meant to end in tragedy as the selfish reasons of the Gorons kept him from ever knowing the motive he came to existence to begin with. Treated as a member of the family by some, a pet by others. His own understanding of life twisted. Many things still remain a mystery to him, all that is known is due to being dragged into another life not meant for the dragon his soul and spirit were an easy target, made worse by further events with those he considered his family. 

A guardian that became aggressive and highly volatile before Ganondorf turned him into a puppet; he’s lived a terrible fate, whether that be a punishment set by the Goddesses or bad luck... it’s a mystery he carries as the heaviest burden, bittering his heart even further.

May I ask for headcanons (or anything else if you see fit) Pure Vanilla with a rough around the edges S/O? As in, S/O is a cookie who's like pretty intimidating especially on the battlefield but when Pure Vanilla's (existing-) with them they are softer with him? Sort of tsundere (I can't find another descriptor forgive me--).

I request because I'm a die-hard for the only soft for one person trope and want to see possible reactions other cookies could have ":)

especially during battles. after the dark flour war, you were known all over for your large contribution and overall cooperation. lots of people were almost honored to serve you (and you weren't used to it...)

however, if you asked pure vanilla, he'd say otherwise

you would never admit to having a soft spot for pure vanilla. you don't!

every time he visits over or you see him, your eyes immediately brighten up and you give him a smile (and a wave if he's from afar). your guard lowers around him but not enough for you to be easily killed

sometimes you get him a gift— like clothes and food. you'd always say that you "just managed to meet him after buying something," which is a half-truth, but you really intended to buy them for him

it was like you were a completely different person around him

he didn't fully realize this until the encounter with you and your friends. he was surprised— why was it only him that you acted this way?

do your friends know about this? yes, they do! in fact, the first time they met pure vanilla was with you, and they admitted straight after your meeting that they never believed you could be so bright and happy
