BG3 AU where when you play as Durge, instead of Orin permanently dying, she has the chance to be reborn Ă la Meteora from Star Vs. So cue Durge being redeemed and waking up to find out not only does he no longer have those dark urges, but his sister is also still alive and a baby.
After the whole story is said and done, and Durge and the party manage to defeat The Absolute, our lizard boy is left to try and raise his sister the right way with the help of his love interest (Karlach in my playthrough) in hopes that she'll turn out alright this time.

real, genuine questionâŚhow are so many of my fellow shippers okay with dead dove helaemond in fanfic but not in the show? because thatâs hypocritical as fuck. lmao.
because as someone who adores dead dove, i am living for the direction theyâre taking helaemond. listen, lindaâŚ
*hotd leaks/spoilers*
aemond is not a nice person. he is slowly losing his grasp on things because he saw the dragon power rhaenyra has gained and heâs also a targaryen prince. he is desperate, pathetic, arrogant, prideful, in a patriarchal society where his godlike hubris has manifested after claiming a dragon, along with the hate that has lived, grew inside him ever since getting his eye taken and a father who turned his eyes from his sons, to never pour affection or literally care for him at all lbr.
the way in which he grabbed helaena so carelessly and harshly, not daring to give her feelings, her pain a second thought, to drag her into a war with him that theyâre losing. (that she knows theyâre going to lose)
âaemond is abusive for grabbing helaena like that.â i do not believe he is inherently abusive towards helaena. if he continues to act this way towards her, which i seriously doubt after she clocked his ass, (silence, omega!) then yes. butâŚan absolute dickhead of a brother going mad who acted rashly and stupidly that should get bitch-slapped? yes 1000%, because heâs so desperate, realizing that he fucked up royally burning aegon and sunfyre, that he cannot face multiple dragons alone. (lmao my idiot sandwich son đđ)
heâs always felt like a god after claiming vhagar, feeling superior to others because of his dragonblood, but hereâs thing. helaena has predicted everything that has happened to him. they are interlinked because she has seen all that will befall him. and heâs beyond terrified here. the scene on the balcony where he confronts her post grabbing her so brutally, showing his hand ghosting hers, how his goddamn voice goes quiet, begging her to lay waste to their enemyâdaemonâalmost in a meekly genuine tone which we have never heard?! the little boy begging his big sister for help. âthe heed to a truer callingâ what heâs been taught all his life, that his blood is superior. and then he has tears in his eyes which get even more glassy with more tears of terror when she reveals her dragon dreams, knowing he burnt their brother, telling him of his death, that what he does wonât change anything. aemondâs threats of having her put to death are empty, and lmao worthy because he pretty much just came begging on his hands and knees to ask her to fight. but pookie donât give a fuck. she knows how this will end and that the death of her family, aemond, the dragons, is the only way to ensure peace in the realm.
my beautiful fucked up doomed tragic sibling duo. i do believe helaemond in s3 will be something delicious if they decide to have aemond work with helaena and expand her dreamer arc, because theyâre paralleling her with alys. especially since alys told daemon that he would die in the beginning of the szn and now helaena telling aemond how heâll die in the finale, after he begs her to fly to harrenhal with him. the daemond x daelys x helaemond x helys parallels be paralleling.

as i said while discussing iroh as a character, despite the comics being a mess, i feel confident saying that at the end of atla, zuko not only realizes that azula has been harmed too, but he rightfully blames ozai for that harm (although ozai is not solely responsible for traumatizing azula).
as big of a win as that is for the possibility of the fire hazard siblings healing their relationship (zuko absolutely has to take the first step there in my opinon; azula would not be willing to at this point, and their relationship has been unbalanced in terms of care historically), their relationship is still quite tragic even with this realization.
there is no way that zuko actually understands what ozai did to azula. he doesn't even know what ozai did to azula. yes, he knows that ozai abused azula, but zuko only understands and knows abuse as he endured it.
there's also almost no way that azula is going to tell zuko about it. not only would she not want to discuss something so vulnerable in a serious or honest manner (see the way she discusses ursa in the beach), but she's also just had a serious psychotic break. it's very possible that she's not fit to see zuko at all right now, let alone discuss her trauma with him even if she wanted to.
so zuko is left to fill in the blanks about the how of azula's trauma. given his pattern of relating other people's trauma to his even when it's not actually the same (i.e. how he relates katara's trauma about kya being killed during the fire nation's genocide against her culture to his own trauma about ursa's disappearance after committing high treason), he would come to understand and conceive of how ozai abused azula through his own experience with ozai's abuse. while zuko's abuse was clearly always an implicit threat dangled over azula's head ("you can't treat me like zuko!") and ozai absolutely used some of the same tools against her that he did zuko, zuko was ozai's scapegoat child while azula was his golden child. their abuse did not look the same, it did not function the same, and it did not impact them the same.
it's also unlikely that he has the perspective at this stage in his own healing process to apply any of his (false) perceptions of azula's trauma to how it would have shaped both their childhood and his perspective of azula. he probably doesn't even realize just how deeply his perspective of her is colored by ozai's abuse of them both.
furthermore, since he's accepted his recollection of their childhood (which is not his fault. he is a victim of abuse who did not have the means or opportunity, as a young child, to see beyond ozai's more obvious abuse of him, which he couldn't even admit, to notice ozai's more subtle abuse of azula), he likely can only conceive of azula's childhood trauma in two ways:
as the byproduct of his own trauma, existing not because of azula's own traumatic childhood experiences but because of her witnessing his, such as the agni kai
as the product of his exile, occurring because he was no longer physically there for ozai to abuse and thus had to find a new target in azula
the former seems less probable given his belief that azula enjoyed his pain when they were children, so he would likely think that she was abused not when they were younger but exclusively after his exile began.
this isn't even touching on how zuko's perception of ursa and iroh clouds his ability to see how they both harmed azula too. that muddles things a lot more since zuko struggles with black and white thinking.
i think azula and zuko could heal their relationship with time and mutual effort, but as long as she refuses to confide in her brother and as long as he assumes she should experience and respond to trauma the same way he has, they're doomed to remain static in relation to each other.

Okay I gotta say this. Shadow and Maria are one of my all time OTPs in such a literary classic way. The physically weak but strong minded and empathetic martyr with the physically strong yet dark tormented soul. Thereâs an inherent unsaid âromanceâ to their dynamic that is heartbreakingly undeniable to the audience and not necessarily to the characters own thoughts. The martyr giving the polar opposite a motivation to cling to the goodness that was shown to be so powerful that it is then only to carry out their last wishâa hope. Despite the clash of their own nature. Itâs a classic tragic epitaph. Anyone can view them in any capacity but limiting the complexity of their unique circumstances as only âsibling codedâ is, yes, a viewpoint. But to me, that is a very one note and not accurate to how ambiguous and deep the connection really is. Anyone is free to limit or see it how they see it. It transcends the boundaries of what we have experienced. Reminding me of the term Anam Cara, a bond that is not so simple, meaning âsoul bondâ, that runs deeper than what we socially understand/can ever define or put into words. Itâs strange, powerful, and devoted. Shadow is just an anomaly, he doesnât see himself as himself in a mirror but struggles with what he was created from that run deep with the mystery of his physical appearance. He battles with this darkness but Maria is the only light penetrable to juxtapose himself and bring him back to himself in the now, as if he was and only created for her, to watch out for, to finally cure her, to be strong for, to learn more about himself from, to be outside his own darknessâitâs for her and because of herâand thatâs a classic romantic tragedy. He will only ever and then, be devoted to her even in her absenceâand the impact she made and the promise he wants to keep, sadly is also what will forever keep him alone and guarded. Shadow is haunted by this and thatâs what makes it such a memorable story and a wonderfully complex character Iâve always returned my thoughts to over the years. Because Maria isnât really ever gone in his mind and the choices now in any way he spares othersâ to live or think in new waysâis then only carrying on her legacy (not Black Doomâs) and the importance she has implanted in his heartâeven without his recognition at times. Anyone can view their connection in any way they see fit. Itâs meant to be that way. Anyone hating on an interpretation can kick rocks because theyâre all valid interpretations. We can all agree theyâre a timeless bond regardless of thinking about it deeper bc nobodyâs asking you to do that. I do implore people to do that though. For your own storytelling and analysis skills, if you want. Itâll allow anyone to also see the various interpretations as a wonder and not a threat. Shadow and Maria are a great start to analyze character dynamics in a deeper way! Xoxo

Feanorian Sibling Shenanigans Short Fic
Maglorâs eyes were shiny with tears though they were truly more due to his appreciation for how romantic a story his brotherâs torment made than sympathy towards him.
This was proven when even as he leaned forward, his entire upper body now precariously dangling off the side of the bed to reach where Caranthir was nestled on the rug in about seven separate shawls and furs, and cupped his brotherâs face in his hands he expounded, with rather too much joy, how moving he found it.
âOh Moryo, thatâs so beautiful, the tragic unrequited love of an elven lord for a mortal woman, the thematic parallels with the doomed nature of-â
Caranthir looked as if he was about to explode of mortification and rage both, his face flushed bright red as he bit out a retort at his still cooing brother, âMaglor if you write a song about this I will strangle you in your sleep.â
Maglor held his hand to his heart and widened his eyes with melodramatic innocence. âI would never!
Maedhros interjected dryly with a raised eyebrow and weary expression while holding Maglorâs feet to avoid him accidentally pitching forward and tumbling head first on to the ground, âOh youâd never write and circulate a ballad about one of your brotherâs personal lives wouldnât you Makalaure?â
Maglor quickly replied, âNo one knows that song was about you and Fingon. I didnât name any names.â Maglor had nonetheless known exactly what ballad had been referred to without hesitation.
Curufin scoffed, elbowing Celegorm in the stomach so he could detangle himself enough to face them. âThe edain know that song was about Maedhros and Fingon.â
This prompted a cacophony of inputs into how completely and utterly blatant that particular piece of lyrical genius had been about who it alluded to and how completely and utterly blatant the two lords in question were without any assistance whatsoever.
âYou know I mentioned your name in dealings with some of the men in Hithlum and their first response was to ask if you were his wife or husband because it didnât seem polite to ask-â
âI think we shouldnât just let Maglor off the hook so easily, yes he wasnât really revealing anything everyone didnât already know about but I think some of those innuendoes lacked taste even by his standards-â
âThank you Curufin! Finally someone on my side here!â Maedhros stilled for a moment and frowned, meeting Curufinâs eyes who had an almost identical look of complete confusion on his face.
âWell those are words I never fought Iâd say in such close succession.â
Curufin wrinkled his nose as if rethinking all his life choices up until that point.
Maglor exclaimed something off his usual script about how no one appreciated the true art of music in this family leading Celegorm to finally shove him on to the rug. He tumbled off with an almighty screech as Amrod and Amras cheered Celegorm on through fits of giggles. Things only escalated from there.

EPISODE 8 - THOUGHTS
I dont think this was Ryan's intention but by attempting to make Aemond seem more deranged and 'humanise' everyone else, the show has accidentally made Aemond seem the most rational on team Green LMAO. Like? Yea no like, this episode - no baby g I get you. What the fuck is going on?
Also likeeee why is he the only one making sense? Like no I think he actually was kinda justified in being really upset - obviously not to the degree of.... well uhhh.... mass murder... BUT in terms of being fed up with Alicent. No he is totally right. Alicent was the one who incited this war, she indoctrinated him and Aegon from birth to fight it, to go against Rhaenyra... and now that he is basically going up against like seven other dragons, he has NO choice but ask Helaena to fight because??? What else is he going to do? Sit around and die? And Alicent is just lowkey like "oh well there is another way" and it's like well... no the fuck there isn't girl. And you know what? Even though I get why Helaena refuses, Aemond DOES also have a point that - from his perspective, she has to take action as Queen and show a united front. He is basically fighting the war alone. So like? Girl I'd be mad as hell too if my sister had a big ass dragon and she refused to help. He definitely could have gone about it a different way, like uh... not assaulting her. But in principle he was fully justified in asking her. I mean look if it were me I'd be ready to SUIT UP AND SAY SIR YES SIR. but I'm a slut for the man so....
I think accidentally the show has become less tragic now that they continue to centre the show as Rhaenyra and Alicent's story over Rhaenyra and her siblings. I don't really want to see Alicent remorseful yet because... that's going to take away from her story overall and her arc when the dance is finally done? It was tragic in the books when Alicent's final wish was to be able to see her sons and daughter again. Like... I just... I mean okay hbo.
Criston Cole ate this episode. I loved his speech, I thought that whole scene was perfect. And honestly? Yes slay, finally he is cooking because I wanna die too rn King.
Helaena... I'm not sure what the fuck is going on with her and Daemon? I avoided those leaks and yea... that was weird as hell. Like even his face was like? What the fuck are YOU doing here? We've really spent no time developing her powers at all... and it's irritating to me. Because why would she be connected to the weirwood? Is this purely for the fact that she'll haunt Aemond once he gets to Harrenhal? Or.... was that just something fun to throw in there?
The CGI on the white walkers was.... I mean... clearly all the budget been going to the Velaryons wigs cause they have been EATING it up.
Speaking of that I love Rhaena so fucking much. She's become my new favourite on the Blacks. However not showing her claiming sheepstealer is a criminal offence.
Jace was eating again. He spoke nothing but facts and I get why he is mad too.
Ulf is fucking annoying.
Daenerys has always BEEN that bitch and will always be that bitch. So clock that.
Alys is??? Again... helping the Blacks? So... what does that mean for her relationship with Aemond? I guess... well, I guess I can only assume she'll be working to lead him to his doom, right?
Rhaenyra slayed a little but I hate this cult leader thing. It's so weird, I want my rage filled mother who mourns her son.
Aegon... I miss him for some fucking reason. But weird mention of his dick being chopped off.
Still no sign of Maelor.
Daeron yea yea I know everyone is quaking but it doesn't really matter since? I mean... this is unpopular opinion - but I'd rather he be cut then bring him in and have him be super irrelevant and take up precious screentime.
The pirate shit was fun, but three whole scenes? Again? THREE ENTIRE SCENES... when we still need to wrap up major plot points? Couldn't that have been achieved in two scenes?
Allyn ate Coryls up and I'm glad about it. That's what you get for being a deadbeat dad and cheating on your wife.
Love Addam, whom also ate Ulf up. I absolutely am pro Addam atm.
Baela being useless again.... which disappoints me... but at least she got another scene with Jace, instead of giving her an arc that explores the complexities of her relationship with Daemon.
And well...... Simon? His ass is cute and quaint.
Anyway, a part of me is lowkey excited to see Aemond fuck shit up. I honestly. I know I talk about what a shit bitch he is but, girl I LOVE HIM. Like LMAOOOO his ass so crazy and mad and as the youngest sibling myself, I lowkey get why he is so fucked off with his useless ass family. I don't blame him at this point because if my mother did that shit to me after priming me for 18 to go to war and now she is basically like 'oh no I'd rather go skip in the fields' girl.... it would be on sight.
That being said this was a solid episode with some beautiful moments. And as always 99% of the actors were incredible, the score and the cinematography was unbelievable. And if this were episode 8 out of 10 I would be UNBELIEVABLY excited. But because it's the finale... I feel a tad underwhelmed.
I am going to go back and rewatch this season to check in and see how it flows. But yea, it is missing that magic season 1 had. I'm not sure what it is.

10 BL Boys I Want Carnally
10 BL Boys That Make Me Feel Thingsâ˘
(not sexual, not romantic but a secret third thing)
okay so I wasn't exactly tagged in this but I saw several people doing this and I'll take just about any excuse to scream about my favorite characters so I'm just going to very sneakily join in on this trend đ
there is absolutely no ranking to these bc I couldn't rank them if I wanted to
(also I changed the name a little bc my ace ass is literally physically incapable of wanting anyone carnally but I still have lots of thoughts lmao)
1) Tharn (The Sign)
I mean. is literally anyone surprised that this is where we're starting?
he's the nicest person out there. he can kick your ass if he wants to. he lost his parents at a young age and is absolutely convinced that everyone he loves is doomed to die and he keeps seeing visions of people dying and he's told again and again that those he has wronged in a past life - which he doesn't even remember - are still out to get him and yet he has so much kindness left for the world??
also he can be such a little shit and knows exactly how to tease Phaya back I love him so goddamn much.
(also that mole-)
2) Kim (Kinnporsche)
was he also on my characters I'd hit with my car list? maybe. and what about it.
I love him so much. he's such a badass but he's such a loser. famous singer who falls for a fan he was supposed to be investigating but is too emotionally constipated to admit it. badass son of a mafia family who can kick ass but only if he wants to. who does it like him honestly
(it also helps that he's played by just about the prettiest man alive)
3) Babe (Pit Babe)
did I start watching this show ironically? yes. is every mention of alphas and mpreg and that mama/papa thing hitting me like a brick and causing me 9000 psychic damage every single time? also yes. did I absolutely fall in love with the show and just about every character in it? you bet your fucking ass I did.
but I especially love Babe. he's just so babygirl. special alpha man who has to act tough and strong but just wants to be babied by his dumbass loser (affectionate) alpha boyfriend. like, he's actually so goddamn soft?? I love him.
4) Guy (Bake Me Please)
I think we all knew this was coming. I was literally gushing about him for half of the episodes. Guy my beloved. that show did not deserve you.
he spends the entire show supporting his crush's every decision and trying to make sure he's okay literally how could you not love this man
(yes he was a petty bitch for like 5 minutes there but he immediately apologized for it the next episode. properly. unlike certain other people-)
5) Sprite (Twins)
he's so himbo coded. himbo of all himbos. the himboest. not a brain cell in that head. he's my little dumbass I love him.
he deserves so much better than what he's being put through. someone please just love and support him for who he is. and also take him away from that family
(please talk to your boyfriend tho I am begging)
6) Wei Wuxian (The Untamed)
MY BELOVED. I could write essays about him. he's such a great character I love him so fucking much. if you ever had to bear witness to me talking about him.. I am so sorry.
sassy emo bitch with a flute and a tragic backstory who's seen as evil by just about everyone but only ever had the best intentions. absolute fucking dumbass. kicks ass. always smiling despite the circumstances. loves his siblings so damn much. doomed by the narrative. what more could you possibly ask for
7) Zhou Zishu (Word of Honor)
I'm trying so damn hard to keep this list to one character per show and it really took me a while to decide if I wanted to include him or Wen Kexing but ultimately it was Zhou Zishu for me
just.. god. him. assassin sect leader just trying to retire who keeps getting dragged into the biggest bullshit but doesn't really mind bc the bullshit comes with a mysterious pretty man. also that whole god damn nail thing. I have so many thoughts and feelings about that but this post would get too long if I got started on those-
(also actually pulling the "I'm literally dying" card to get out of chores is so fucking valid of him. more characters should do that)
8) Milk (Choco Milk Shake)
he is quite fucking literally a reincarnated cat, of course I love him. I could list reasons for why I love him but it would be the exact same reasons just about every cat person on earth lists for why they love cats so. but here's a quick summary, just in case:
petty. dramatic. knocks over glasses. silently loves you so fucking much.
9) Tew (My Dear Gangster Oppa)
I really did not expect to love him this much? greenest of green flags (except for the plot line we shall not talk about). can and will kill people and is fine with it (seriously it is so refreshing to see a mafia character not having a huge moral dilemma about being in the mafia). both a badass mafia man and a gamer guy who doesn't know how to talk to people and is absolutely whipped for his gamer bf.
also scars make a person just about 110x more attractive I don't make the rules. even if the scars are weird and yellow, it's the thought that counts.
10) Tian (A Tale of Thousand Stars)
I? love him??
I just love how he sets out to do something for someone he didn't even know because he feels like this person deserves that much at least and how he ends up genuinely loving and caring for those kids and the village and this inner conflict he's having the entire time but hiding oh so well and how he actually calls out his parents on their rich people bs and-
tagging everyone who reads this far and wants to do it. seriously. I mean it. if you want to do this, please go ahead and say I tagged you. I love reading everyone's thoughts.
#this list is just me going âi love him smâ ten times in a row lmao#apparently my type is just pretty man who is secretly a loser nerd#the sign the series#kinnporsche#pit babe the series#bake me please the series#twins the series#the untamed#word of honor#choco milk shake#my dear gangster oppa#a tale of thousand stars#thai bl#kbl#danmei

Look, yes, I love doomed siblings Regulus and Sirius and how their story ended tragically with them never reconciling.
I also love blessed siblings James and Albus being able to love each other properly with good communication skills and the knowledge that they will always be there for each other.
Two sets of brothers on opposite sides of the same coin. And that is valid.
And if I ever see someone writing about them not getting along or headcanoning them as hating each other I will literally come into your house and steal all the ends of your bread so the entire loaf goes stale and you just wasted money and can't have toast, fuck you.

Been seeing a bit about of the MAwS version of Deathstroke on my feed recently with not a little outrage at his twunkiness or not-dilfness or something and that he might be a little bit pathetic.
Well!
Comics Slade Wilson can be VERY MUCH a pathetic wet meow meow of a man. Here he is in the series end of his latest title, Deathstroke vol. 4 # 50 (2016-2020):
This takes place after his showdown with an alternate Slade Wilson from the Dark Multiverse. He's reconciling with his ex-wife - you know, the one who shot his eye out - and cooking Christmas Eve dinner for the family. Of which, William "Billy" Wintergreen is an honorary member. Just look at Slade's little purple house slippers!
More scans from this series end under the cut:
Rose and Joseph, Slade's kids, and Adeline also greet Wintergreen. So domestic! And look at Joey using wifi to speak through his mom's house speakers. Yes, Joseph Wilson aka Jericho - canonically bisexual - is very much alive in DC Rebirth (and his story is wild and dramatic, tragic and uplifting)! [If something awful happened to Jericho after this issue, let me know.]
Then Slade and Billy go down to the basement to have a little chat.
Looking at the basement, Slade is definitely settled in for the long haul. He has his 'man-cave', need I remind you, in the basement. He's definitely playing nice with the ex no matter how many knife fights they get into with each other. And here he explains to Wintergreen, that he was going to play dead because it would be best for everyone - meaning his family. He may be absolutely sure of his deadly abilities, but his personal ones? Not so much. He's a dangerous guy! It's bad for the kids!
But he's still retired, just not in hiding anymore. He's going to be a responsible partner and father, darn it!
Take a long look at his famous Deathstroke sword, placed in retired honor on the wall, because it will be important in a bit.
You heard the man, Billy, Deathstroke is done! And they still have Christmas dinner to take care of!
Aw, look at this picture of domestic bliss. Adeline and Wintergreen are talking shop; Rose and Joey are playing a video game and being very sibling. But, OH NO, look at Slade and his body language. He's sitting pressed against the corner of the sofa, still in his little purple house slippers, just absolutely slumped and not having a good time. SLADE! SLADE WILSON! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!
His family's chatter just becomes noise in the background as he replays - from earlier in the issue - darker Slade's words in his head. And darker Slade said these same words to him TWICE. Telling him that he - our Slade Wilson - ruined all the good things in his life, that he did it to himself.
So he goes to get the turkey out of the oven.
More domestic stuff, aww 𧥠But where's our man Slade? Billy goes to check.
Turkey abandoned. Back door open. And the infamous Deathstroke sword RIPPED OFF THE WALL AND OUT OF RETIREMENT.
And there he is folks, Deathstroke, back in the shadows. Slade Wilson abandoned his family AGAIN! Slade Wilson, you pathetic wet meow meow of a man! You just cannot - absolutely CANNOT - allow yourself to be happy.
I would say that he isn't doomed by the narrative, but that he dooms himself; but if we were talking CLASSIC TRAGEDY, he has this absolutely fatal flaw that dooms him to be alone. And in a metatextual sense, that's also true, because he's become one of DC's banner villains. They will not let him retire, become anything but a morally dark gray character, so they gave him this ironclad flaw:
What can you take from a man who has nothing? Give him something first.
And Slade Wilson would rather have nothing because he's already lost too much.

Life could be dream.....
Sometimes I picture AZ half-jokingly saying something like "oh yes... all my troubles began the very day Xanthos was born..." đ So it's funny to think that in the initial design docs that's a factual statement in a really awful and tragic way đ
But also yeah... Xanthos was doomed the moment he became AZ's brother... AZ was doomed the moment he became Xanthos' brother ... but also they held a lot of genuine love for one another.
But I don't see their story as one about "unconditional love" in any way... Because as older adults, both of them have to make the conscious choice to try and love each other again. It is an active effort for both of them to try and understand each other again, and to be kind. They both want that closeness they once had, and in their old age a lot of the things complicating their relationship as siblings are now gone... The only real obstacle at this point is Themselves!
What's funny is that really... both of them wanted the exact same things. Floette is a symbol of his mother's love, but Floette is also just... Floette! His best friend who he cares for dearly. AZ wanted to feel that love again. AZ's willingness to keep looking for her is a show of his determination, but also an unspoken belief that Floette felt the same towards him. Xanthos meanwhile... He kind of thinks of himself as unlovable đđ he doubts people's affections and intentions out of fear and also due to his low self esteem. He tried to make himself palpable to others, he would repress and repress until there was so little of himself left... But it didn't make him feel Loved, you know. He fears that others would come to detest him if he were to be "found out."
While reconnecting with Floette for AZ is embracing a love that was always there, for Xan it means acknowledging that he has pushed away in the past... Something like that.
Anyways. They're gonna make Floette try on his scarf next btw (it won't fit), I'll draw that when I revisit this ^.^
#sketch tag#xanthos#will probably finish this doodle later just thinking about rhem rn đ#nonsense rambling in the readmore idk what i was going for here đ

ok, besties I'm used to writing summaries pretty early on for AO3 so now that I'm more than halfway done with this original project I decided to write a summary but I'm not sold on it. the working title of the story is "A Stairway to Nowhere" BTW (which I'm also not 100% sold on). anyway, if anyone is curious about what I've been working on since I took a break from fanfic this is a sneak peek/summary -
There are places where the veil between our world and the spirit world is thinner than usual. This creates a rift â an opening for forces outside human understanding to influence our actions and thoughts. In these liminal spaces, there is the opportunity to harness forces beyond human comprehension. Such power, however, always comes with a price. When their parents are killed in a tragic and mysterious accident, Nick Carver finds himself with sole custody of his teenage sister, Chris. Struggling to stay afloat in a studio apartment and failing to make ends meet, the siblings cling onto what appears to be a lifeline when they inherit an estate from their Great Uncle Charles, whom theyâve never met. Elderwood Manor is tucked away in the deceptively quiet, small town of Baren Lake, Ohio. After a series of bizarre and disturbing encounters with things that donât belong, the Carver siblings investigate the history of their new home, only to learn that the manor itself is home to a dark and checkered past as gory as the history of the town itself, which is built on blood, lies, and betrayal. Back in nineteen ninety-six, a serial killer dubbed the Butcher of Barren Lake ravaged the town and was never caught. When teenagers in Barren Lake begin to turn up slaughtered with an axe, speculation runs wild that the butcher is back with a vengeance. Nick and Chris must decide among their new friends and acquaintances whom to trust and whom to stay away from as suspicion and accusations flood the town and secrets and betrayals years in the making bubble to the surface. Can the ghosts of the past help unravel the mysteries of the present, or are the Carver siblings caught reckoning with forces that should have never been tampered with? Will the Butcher of Barren Lake ever be brought to justice, or is the town doomed to an endless cycle of violence? As Barren Lake is flooded with rumors of dealings with the devil, graverobbing, and witchcraft, no one is safe, and everyone is a suspect as the bodies pile up and tensions rise among the residents of the once sleepy town.
I also have a rough idea for the table of contents based on what I've written & outlined so far -
Chapter 1: Ekal Nerrab Chapter 2: Nothing Ever Changes Chapter 3: Something Wicked This Way Comes Chapter 4: Eleanor's Body Chapter 5: Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Chapter 6: Pray for Us Sinners Chapter 7: Doomed by the Narrative Chapter 8: Memento Mori
Something about this summary doesn't sit right with me but IDK. I guess I don't like it because it doesn't even mention some of the core characters by name but 1. I don't want to give away too much & 2. The summary is supposed to be eye-catching, not tell you everything to expect, right?
So, I'd love feedback. Like, if you saw this summary for a book in the library, would you check it out?
#a stairway to nowhere#i'd love feedback but also. i am so so sensitive pls be gentle kajsdksdj#wip#ocs#writing#my writing

1-4 & 10-12 for The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep, 9-15 for FMA, 1 & 16-18 for Anne of Green Gables, 8-12 for Half-Magic, and 1, 3, 19, and 20 for The Little Riders, please?
The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep by H.G. Parry
what got you into this story?
My dear friend @rainintheevening recommended it to me, and I'm so glad she did! I wasn't even 20 pages in before I looked up from the page and went, "Ohoho, this book was definitely written for me!"
2. describe it in one or two sentences.
Charley Sutherland has always had the ability to read characters out of books and into real life. But when Uriah Heep, the villain from David Copperfield, begins to cause trouble, his older brother (who is perfectly ordinary in every way) will have to go to great lengths to help him out of his predicament.
3. quickly list 3 things you like about the story!
IT'S ABOUT BROTHERS
IT'S A BOOK ABOUT BOOKS
It started to look like the ending was going to be tragic, BUT IT WASN'T I CRYYYYYYYYYY T^T
4. assign this story a hyper-specific genre name, e.g. "inspirational religious semi-horror sci-fi western" (yes, that's Trigun)
Speculative literary brother fiction crossover thriller
10. if you made an amv about this, what song would you set it to?
"Brother" by Kodaline
I mean, would you look at these lyrics?
Oh brother, we'll go deeper than the ink Beneath the skin of our tattoos Though we don't share the same blood You're my brother and I love you that's the truth
;aldksj;sdkfl;sdkfldslkfj TT___TT
11. if you were put in the main character's position, how well would that go for you on a scale of 1-5?
Umm...maybe like a 4? Rob is a very normal kind of guy, and while I'm not a lawyer like him, most of the things he does are fairly ordinary, all things considered. (Well, it's not an ordinary situation at all, but I mean he doesn't have hidden magic or anything.) There's nothing particularly special about him except the lengths he's willing to go to for his brother. And I'd like to think I would do the same for my siblings if need be.
12. assuming your loved ones would be there, would you want to live in the world of the story?
YES. A world where I could potentially meet my favorite characters from beloved stories? Yeah, okay, some of the more unsavory characters show up too, but...like...I could have tea with Dumbledore. I could share crunchings and munchings with Gurgi. I could hang out with Pippi Longstocking! Maybe I could even give Kaladin Stormblessed a hug :')
Full Metal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa
9. give the most UNHELPFUL and/or SILLY summary possible.
A fake human uses a double amputee, a tin can, a war criminal, a butcher, and some old guy to try to become God. He fails because he didn't brush up on meteorology enough.
10. if you made an amv about this, what song would you set it to?
Funny you should ask, because I've got several ideas floating around in my head that I could actually make a reality if I just sat down and took the time! The first AMV idea I ever got, years and years ago, was one set to "Memories" by Within Temptation.
11. if you were put in the main character's position, how well would that go for you on a scale of 1-5?
Lol. 1. I would die immediately. I don't have a head for numbers or science, so I would probably be horrible at alchemy. Even if I somehow got clap-alchemy from the Truth (though how I'd be able to manage human transmutation to get that far is anyone's guess), I would fail miserably to do the things Ed does, because I am very flabby and weak and cowardly. Also I don't think I would have the gumption to do half the things he does, like pushing through the pain of automail surgery. Yeah, sorry, the world is doomed if I'm put in Ed's place.
12. assuming your loved ones would be there, would you want to live in the world of the story?
As much as I adore this story, I think I'd actually say no. There's so much danger and war on every side, and I don't much fancy the thought of losing my soul to a whirling vortex (even if my soul does get put back!). I've already laid out how I wouldn't be an alchemist, so there wouldn't even be that to compensate. Maybe I'd visit after it's no longer a fascist military state, though.
13. tell me an out-of-context piece of worldbuilding or lore!
Did you know that Amestris was the wife of Artaxerxes, king of Persia?
14. how likely do you think this story is to break a reader's heart? If you're not done with the story, just guess.
I'm biased, but I think it's pretty much guaranteed. If your heart doesn't break at least a little bit at a certain little girl and her dog, I'm not sure you have one. And there are so many other parts where I cried really hard, not least at the ending of the first anime. All I wanted to do after I finished it the first time was lie in my bed, staring at the ceiling and trying to figure out how to carry on with my life ^^'
15. what time are you most likely to be found reading/watching this story? (time of year, time of day, season of life, whatever makes sense to you)
ALL DAY ALL THE TIME.
Lol, that would have been my answer in my teenage years, but admittedly my attention has strayed to other fandoms more recently. I'm still down to read/watch FMA anytime at the drop of a hat, but these days I'm most likely to dip back into it this time of year, because I always try to have something to post for FMA Day on October 3rd. (Which reminds me, I need to get cracking on that D:)
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
what got you into this story?
I guess you could call it peer pressure, kinda? I just kept hearing people praising it over the years, until finally I decided I should probably see what all the fuss was about, rather than just writing it off as Not For Me because I decided that back when I was eight or something. And once I did start reading, it didn't take long for Anne to win me over ^_^
16. do you think this story has broad appeal, or is it meant for a very specific audience? if it's more "niche", what kind of person would most enjoy this story?
I do think it has broad appeal, though I'd still say it's not for everybody. Clearly, Baby Novie decided it wasn't for her because there wasn't enough high adventure in it. I think most people would be able to find something relatable or at least enjoyable about it, but some people might need to wait until they're mature enough to appreciate its merits ;)
17. compare this story to your usual tastes. how does it differ from what you've already enjoyed?
I usually prefer books with more fantastical elements in them, or at least adventuring, and that was especially true when I tried to read this book as a kid. I will certainly read the occasional historical fiction about ordinary, everyday ups and downs, but even so, I'm usually more inclined to reach for something like Austen or Dickens that has a more complicated, twisty-turny plot.
18. compare this story to your usual tastes. what parts of it are exactly the kind of thing you've always loved?
I'm actually kind of surprised this was never assigned for school, because it feels a lot like the kind of book I read a lot, and probably one I would have enjoyed more than some of the other stuff we had to read. If I'd only made the connection that it takes place around the same time as the Mandie books, I probably would have really latched onto it (even though Anne isn't about mysteries), because that was my bread and butter for several years as a kid. And Anne of Green Gables would have been much less embarrassing to return to as an adult ^^' Another element that is common to many stories I love is how friendship is treasured so highly.
Half Magic by Edward Eager
8. what questions are or were you most excited to learn the answers to while experiencing the story for the first time?
Oh man, it's been so long since the first time I read this book, I can't really remember. Especially because I was never really an "active reader" as a kid. I never stopped to ask questions, I just inhaled stories, and whatever happened in it, that was how it obviously had to be ^^' And by now, I've read the book so many times I know it back to front, and there aren't really any more questions that I care about.
At a guess, though, I might have wondered where the talisman came from and where I could get one :P
9. give the most UNHELPFUL and/or SILLY summary possible.
This book teaches you about fractions :)
10. if you made an amv about this, what song would you set it to?
Uhhhh...I really don't know. Probably some kind of instrumental track, maybe piano? And it would just be a montage of the whole story, I think.
11. if you were put in the main character's position, how well would that go for you on a scale of 1-5?
I'd say a 4 or a 5. I'd like to think I'd do pretty well at remembering not to say "I wish" out loud as much as they do, but that's never how these things go. But most of the times I say that, it's usually just things like "I wish I could remember..." or "I wish I knew why..." And I don't see how the consequences of that kind of accidental wish could be too dire XD
12. assuming your loved ones would be there, would you want to live in the world of the story?
A THOUSAND TIMES YES. How many times did I daydream about what my siblings and I would do if we got a wish-granting adventure like in the books? It might be a little annoying to have to put up with 1920s America or whenever it's supposed to be, but...wish-granting talisman. Come on.
The Little Riders by Margaretha Shemin
what got you into this story?
This was assigned for school. I don't remember when exactly that was, but I think it was a read-aloud rather than one I read to myself, so maybe first or second grade? And I just remember it being one of the books that stood out to me amongst all the others.
3. quickly list 3 things you like about the story!
It offers a unique perspective on WWII, humanizing the Nazi soldiers when most of the time, we're all content to just think of them as nothing but monsters.
It's tense and exciting - will the soldier find the little riders?!
Illustrated by Peter Spier, a staple of my childhood picture books!
19. pitch an idea for a sequel or spinoff novel for this story!
What about a parallel story about the soldier's family? What was their experience like during the war?
20. what's the WORST thing about this story, in your opinion? (feel free to be positive, e.g. "it's not longer", if you want!)
Okay, yes, I could definitely do with a longer version of this book. I would have liked more exploration of Johanna's experience of being an American girl growing up in Holland with her grandparents. Did she have culture shock at first? Does she feel more at home in Holland now? For the lack of exploration they do into her unique situation, I almost think it would have been better to just have her be a Dutch girl who's lived in Holland all her life. The extra details of her father being in the U.S. Navy kind of feels superfluous.

Listening to "Bedtime" from the Little Mermaid soundtrack and just,,,, thinking about how Taliesin said Molly was based on mermaids and not having a soul but Ariel gets her happy ending in the disney version and Kingsley gets a happy ending with the Nein and just,,,,
Taliesin Jaffe how dare you do this to me on this, our pride month
AH yes I love that Mollymauk is Taliesin's interpretation of a mermaid so much, it's so fascinating and tragic and bittersweet. Also, I just listened to the song and it's lovely. Makes me very nostalgic.
But yeah, that clip of Taliesin explaining his initial pitch for Molly still just breaks my heart. His acknowledgement that, "Mermaids are fucked," because they supposedly exist without a soul, "Empty" and eternally doomed from the start...it's just so tragic. "I want a body where the soul left, and the body just kept moving. Whatever was in there got pulled out, and went to the Raven Queen. And they just kept walking, like a mermaid--no soul....just someone who was a total blank slate."
And while he does get the fairytale happy end and get to live on with his loved ones, I think Tealeaf's narrative very closely mirrors the darker aspects of Hans Christian Andersen's original version. Especially given the premise of a being without a soul--someone who was supposed to be forever Empty, yet still became whole--
And one of my personal favorite mermaid parallels: A deal made with a witch for an impossible dream. Offering up a vital part of yourself in exchange for a false hope that can never truly be. To me, it echoes both Lucien's own family bargaining away their child to a hag--as well as Lucien later offering himself to the Somnovem. He might not have known Azrahari always planned to keep him as one of her puppets--"My beautiful boy...I had hoped to make you mine one day. What a perfect specimen you would have made. Oh, how you would have been merry with laughter and dance..." But he always lived in fear that it was a possibility.
His parents abused both him and his siblings, were willing to offer up one of their two remaining children to a witch for some fantasy; they passively stood by while they forced Lucien to lure victims to a deadly hag as a mere child--marks who were often bandits, murderers, and monsters as surely as the witch. Abandoning Lucien to them and Azrahari both. Azrahari, who promises she can finally make Lucien happy, return him to those childhood days of song and laughter and dance, if only he would let her carve out his soul--
Again and again, Lucien is promised happiness and safety at the cost of his own freedom and autonomy. The witch can take all his pain away, he just has to surrender all his willpower to her. Exist forever as a hollowed out, Empty shell, her glassy-eyed cadaver of a doll to puppet and put on display.
And the Somovem can make all of his dreams come true, can make his fairytale Once upon a time and happily ever after a reality, he just has to submit to their thrall completely. And, like with the Little Mermaid, it will also come at the cost of unimaginable pain. A girl who can dance beautifully, but every step feels like shards of glass in her feet. The pain of her transformation never leaving her. The Somnovem promising Lucien the whole world, and when he asks what it will cost, they decree, "Pain and pain and pain. A dear price for a man, a pittance for a king, and nothing to a God, cosmically ordained."
And while the Little Mermaid longs to meet her love, she also mourns the fact that, while mermaids live far longer than humans, they have no immortal soul. No eternity or gods or heaven awaits them. They merely fade away, dissolve into seafoam and cease to be. (Just a body without a soul, an abandoned vessel. Hollow. Empty.)
I don't think it's a coincidence that's the fate that awaits all mermaids--and that when Lucien dies, his soul is scattered into dust across the Astral Sea. "It's one thing to be in a different body, it's another to have your very essence scattered. Your very immortal soul divided into pieces, like so much confetti. I believe you seemed to fall for one of those pieces that stuck behind..."
To me though, a parallel that really stands out is the narrative culminating in a decision where you have to either kill someone you love or turn that blade on yourself. Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid is granted a last gift at her darkest hour--a way out where she doesn't have to fade away into nothingness. A chance to live on with her family beneath the sea--a family who loved her enough to barter with the sea witch for one last chance at her freedom. And all it will cost is a dagger through the prince's heart.
But of course she can't bear to go through with it. She tosses the witch's dagger into the sea and falls after it to her death, choosing to sacrifice herself instead of the person she loves. And Mollymauk? When faced with the reality that he could only save the Nein by tearing apart Lucien--and himself along with him--he doesn't even hesitate.
He digs his claws into his own wound and lets himself fall to pieces. He never once thinks of self preservation, tries to barter or plead or find a way to save himself at the last moment. He knows either the Nein will survive or the Nonagon will--and perhaps through him, a part of Molly, even just a piece--but he chooses a painful, agonizing death over Lucien's warped perception of godhood and eternity.
All Mollymauk has ever wanted was to live--in spite of how harsh and cruel the world always was to him. He still wanted nothing more than to walk Exandria and fill that clawing Emptiness with joy and love, have just one more day out of the grave to live and feel and be almost real. And still, he chooses to offer up himself if it means sparing everyone else. When Matt narrates Kingsley's nightmares of Cognouza, he emphasizes that to Tealeaf, "It was worth it. It was worth it." As long as it's to protect the people he loves, letting himself pay the blood price will always be worth it--
"Looking out from within your prison, pushing against your invisible bonds--when your heart found the strength, giving all that you are to help those who gave you purpose in return. It was worth it. It was worth it...The moment you gave yourself and broke your prison. The lights, so many around you free to move on. The warm catharsis of letting go..."
Like the merfolk of the original tale, when Mollymauk sacrifices himself, it's not just death that he faces. It's total oblivion. Offering up all that he is. And he does it gladly.
But when the Little Mermaid sacrifices herself, she is welcomed by warmth, and light. Given a chance to earn an immortal soul through good deeds. And by the same token, when Mollymauk tears apart both the Nonagon and himself, he falls back into the Moonweaver's welcoming embrace. Given another chance by both her and the Wildmother--divine, higher powers that looked at this supposedly "Empty" vessel and saw a warm, bleeding heart. A "forgotten fragment" that was loved so much--and loved so fiercely and selflessly in turn--they became real and whole.
âLight gathers around the body, the magic attempting to reach out into whatever space holds the souls here in the Astral Sea, as so many go scattering outward now to search for one. A fragment of one. Or is it a whole one? If souls can grow from but a pieceâŚâ
I think it's both terribly tragic and heartwarmingly bittersweet that Mollymauk's ending echoes the Little Mermaid's own--a gutting sacrifice that leads to hope and a new beginning. A second chance and a soul made whole. Being saved and held together by the very love you sacrificed yourself for. It's also suitably a very romantic end to me, which fits Tealeaf perfectly. And the fact that the character who was inspired by mermaids goes on to become a pirate king...I do wonder if Taliesin did that on purpose, because I think it's adorable--
Anyway, I love Mollymauk, and all the Little Mermaid parallels, and wish we could listen to Taliesin talk about mer inspired Molly more. Also, this bit of character building makes mer widmauk one of my favorite au's--
#mollymauk#lucien tavelle#im so sorry this got so long but!!!#thank you I am now having lots and lots of mermollymauk feelings--#any sort of velveteen rabbit story about being loved so much it makes you real and whole and gives you a soul just melts my entire heart#anyway wow#can you believe that molly is so full of love and compassion and so willing to sacrifice himself because as much as he loves#life--in spite of how cruel the world always was to him-- he loves his dearest family the nein far more.....

wait, did the umbrella academy have a step sibling romance subplot?
under a cut for discussions of the above content and also mild comics spoilers if you care about that lol
yep, the comics are very textually about reactions to extreme trauma (familial trauma but with the extra layer of being famous and under scrutiny from the public eye since childhood - its own kind of isolation) and the characters are intentionally flawed and do fucked up things. the whole point is that it's a dark subversion of the superhero team genre, which was a lot more original/groundbreaking in 2007 than it appears now (definitely not the first one ofc - gerard was inspired by watchmen and doom patrol, and the boys came out not long before etc, but it did win an eisner back then for a reason). in the comics, rumor goes through a divorce and loses custody of her child, then reacquaints with her step-siblings who she hasn't seen in years after hargreeves's death. because she feels incapable of giving or receiving real love or human connection, has been taught from infancy that her power and her physical beauty are the only worthwhile things about her, and has nobody else in the world, she uses her power to make spaceboy fall in love with her. it's textually a non-consensual relationship right from the start and is acknowledged as a fucked up & harmful trauma response and treated as such. these aren't comics for kids lol.
imo the fundamental issue with the show that makes it unpalatable to me is that it tries to water down the content for a netflix (and preteen) audience, but then they still left in parts of the allison/luther plot, only they took out the whole 'rumor' aspect and ended up portraying as. romantic. and not tragic and disturbing lol. so the show had to backpedal and didn't textually denounce it as anything more than harmlessly cringey until like season 3. a similar thing happens to the seance's addiction storyline, which is a big deal and has very real consequences in the comics but kinda got played for laughs in later episodes of the show, and with portrayals of genuine disability, almost all of which are erased in the netflix adaptation (spaceboy requires a full-body mechanised assistive device to move, rumor is missing an arm and the kraken an eye, and vanya acquires a traumatic brain injury which impairs her motor and cognitive functioning etc.)
i'm certainly not saying the comics are perfect - their biggest issue is how white they are (which gerard has acknowledged and said he regrets) and some (presumably) unintentional racist imagery/stereotypes (e.g. the bodyguard abhijat who feels tokenised, and most other characters of colour being background non-speaking roles etc). those are things the comics can, should, and have been criticised for, but i don't see the step-sibling incest as it's portrayed in the comics as ~problematic - it's definitely supposed to be uncomfortable, at least in my reading of it. much more than it is in the show, in any case.
so overall like. the comics are super not for everyone, even beyond gerard's unconventional pacing/writing style that i know some people don't vibe with. they weren't meant for a wide audience. they're very dark and are primarily about fucked up trauma responses more than anything else - luther and allison's relationship is just one of these. i personally love the comics but it's totally understandable if other people find them unpalatable - but yk, dark media isn't immoral when it knows what it's doing. imo if the show was going to leave some of those darker plot points in they should have made the entire tone of the show darker and raised the rating; otherwise, they should have left out aspects like the step-sibling incest.
but yeah, tl;dr yes there's step-sibling incest in both versions, but it's treated very differently in both and imo is so much grosser in the show becuase they tried to make it palatable at first for some fkn reason lmao.
and beyond your question and just in general, the tv show being attributed to gerard when it's not his artistic content bothers me so so so much skdkffk. even if i totally loved the show, i can't staaaand things being miscredited, especially creative things. gerard's given steve blackman his blessing to make the show his own vision, and says he considers the comics and the netflix version entirely separate entities and has made a conscious effort to distance himself from the latter.
#i enjoyed tua s1 when it first came out#but i would delete it from the public consciousness if it meant i didn't have to see someone saying gerard way wrote it ever again ddkdkdkf#again it's just not a story intended or appropriate for pre-teens SKDKFKD#answered#tua

How do you feel about ShinShi and KaiShinShi? Kudou Shinichi and Miyano Shiho have an interesting relationship as Edogawa Conan and Haibara Ai, I've heard them described as each other's doom as she made the poison that de-aged him and he couldn't save Hirota Masami/Miyano Akemi who was her last remaining family and link to normalcy. But they became each other's salvation learning to trust each other, she made him the prototype antidote and gave him as much information as she could (not as much as she knew to avoid him diving headfirst into danger) and he protected her from the Black Organisation when they came looking for a little Sherry, helped her build a life as Haibara Ai - proving that it wasn't wrong for her to confirm him as dead and come to him for help. Though I understood seeing them as strictly friends or more like siblings (thank you Professor Agasa). Ai's commentary on KaiShin rivalry/frenemies with favours relationship is great and canon gives us her amazing unrequited love but I think she and Kaito could understand each other as genius people who have done bad things without being forced to in the traditional sense partly due to their childhood circumstances and partly to revive a dead parent(s)' legacy and routinely hide things/lie to those they love to prevent them being unwillingly trapped in dark world of a life of crime due to their association with them, they are also both cold and sweet. I think she'd have feelings about him saving her too, he Knows About Sherry that's huge by itself.
First of all, I forgot to mention, but I really like CoAi and by extension, ShinShi as well. I confess that I was left wanting to participate in CoAi week, but there is always next year. KaiShinShi fanarts are cute! And I've seen an incorrect quotes blog out there that's also cool. So yes, I like KaiShinShi.
I like the concept and everything you say is great. In fact, I really like ShinShi because "they are each other's downfall", and I like it because it sounds tragic but it really doesn't have to end tragically, right?
In fact, maybe (I don't know) you saw my previous posts with Shiho x Kaito vibes, I really like the ship because they are both criminals, but they are not really bad even though they think they are.
Plus, Shiho has a morbid sense of humor that reminds me of Kaito's mother! They could definitely get along.
I think I started liking KaiShinShi because I saw a comic where Shiho and Kaito get together because of her unrequited love for Shinichi and I loved that angst. Don't ask me about the comic, I saw it once and let it go.
#kuroba kaito#shiho miyano#kudo shinichi#ask#I find it funny that the big difference between KaiShin and KaiShi is one letter.#On an unrelated but at the same time related note#I hope Shiho x Kaito becomes super popular and displaces KaiAo because I'm still mad about the KaiShin reveal#I want to hit Gosho where it hurts the most#in his favorite ship.#Please take this comment with the same humor as me#it's just nonsense.

hiiii lacy been into. gaming recently. should i get ace attorney. or other video game đŤ
LUCY!! if you want my honest answer...
ace attorney is styled like a visual novel but about deductive reasoning rather than. dating. ig. the unfortunate thing is that sometimes the deductive reasoning is sorta at the mercy of the plot and the nonsense logic of the world, which can lead to some frustrating situations where you know the answer but don't know how to say it, and I think thats my biggest criticism of the game. when you DO get it right, though, the feeling is VERY satisfying. the story can be stupid and silly just as much as it is hard hitting, and the main cast of characters are WONDERFUL.
I think the main deciding factor is: do you want a video game that is entirely reading. bc that is what it is. it is reading and logic puzzles. if that seems like a style of game that would suit you I say GO FOR IT ABSOLUTELY. I love the series so ofc im inclined to say yes, get it, but if that play style is not for you then obvs save your money.
if you do buy it, makes sure to buy the original phoenix wright trilogy and NOT the investigations collection, which is the one that released yesterday and that im currently playing. start with the original obviously, and b sure to block my tag for it. or I can make a spoiler tag just for you if you want me to :P
oh it also has my absolute favorite doomed/tragic sibling pair of all time so there's that for it.
#im doing playthroughs with like two separate groups of ppl rn and also playing the new game on my own so . erm .#I really like it obviously#and if thats not for you there's this really cool game called persona fi- *gets shot*#anyways you'll have to keep me posted!! :]#asks#lucy
