Cotton mouthed and caught completely off guard, Wilhelm tries to fight back as they fly high, dusting the edges of his insides with their wings.

Any other weekend that offer would ignite a firecracker of excitement inside of him.

Re-thinks the shirt he’d pulled over his head hours before and switches it out for a softer cotton and a blue sweater on top.

Each syllable, each letter, designed to fit the shape of Simon’s mouth, for his cadence, for his tone – and for years it’s been worn by others like a costume, ill-fitting and devoid of the true strength behind the word.

Also, doing this turns out I write very short sentences. I should start using semi-colons.

Normally, Wilhelm is the popcorn guardian because he likes to hand feed Simon little pieces as they go, and because he’s less likely to get so angry at a character he leaps up.

They move Wilhelm around like he’s a piece of furniture to be positioned for best visual effect.

Everything in him rebels against the idea of taking the only thing that’s ever been real in his life and turning it into a show.
