All I'm saying is that if crepus wasn't an insecure shit of a person, he would've survived and you know what? I dare say Kaeya not only would've saved Diluc and Crepus but he might've also gotten a vision, perhaps a hydro vision to reflect the change of tides rather than a cryo vision mirroring the coldness in his heart and the distance he's formed between him and anyone who he ever has and will care for
But nooooooo Crepus had something to prove he couldn't live in the shadow of his own son couldn't stand proudly next to because right there standing right in front of him with his crimson hair stood everything he could've never become. Like seriously why would he have a delusion? Why else?
Now real quick I looked it up and only found a headcanon that he had a delusion to give to diluc, diluc got his pyro vision at age 14, in whatever way you try to switch it around to make it make sense it doesn't, ah yes allow me to get this pyro delusion to give to my son with a pyro vision, think about it like that and it instantly crumbles,; btw ok if u strictly believe that's why but I just politely disagree and will not change my mind regarding this
And no, I'm not saying he was an awful father, but he wasn't the greatest either, two things can be true at the same time and for Crepus, he was happy for his son, respectable in his community probably, and an insecure little man who still took the chance to prove something which costed his life despite the fact that as yea as inefficient Knights of Favonius are, they were there, sure crepus and diluc may have been more injured but if crepus waited, they would've survived
.
Anyways Childe has a good relationship with his siblings but not his parents, his dad gives him away to the fatui this isn't headcanon look up his story he believed it would adjust him or something like that and to his horror his son was put up into the ranks of the harbingers. His mother? Here's the headcanon territory, as much as she tries to put a good front, she's terrified of him, like just about everyone else like c'mon this ginger kid came outta nowhere and can't stop fighting send help our troops are in the hospital!!! Pulcinella: "bet. Anyways"
Who wouldn't be afraid of their own child if after days of being missing they return, the glimmer in eyes missing along with anything that made that boy your boy your son, it's gone, that's not me son,- I think she'd be like the mom from the movie changeling who's son gets swapped, spoiler she got sent to the asylum and all and in the end her son was still missing, she still waits for his return,;
who's to say Childe's mom isn't still waiting for Ajax to return?
Since that day her mental health has deteriorated, she's sits alone and can hardly recognize even Teucer, Tonia takes care of most the family stuff, with the help of Childe ofc who still loves his family dearly and portion of his paycheck always goes to them
Yea I agree with the hc I saw around that his family are one of the few things keeping him "sane" somewhat at least
