i don’t know who exactly created this tag but i wanted to thank @arywizm for being the one who happened to make me aware of it since it does seem cool.
book tag:
- how many books are too many books in a series?
my recent two favorite series (the skybound saga by alex london + the timekeeper trilogy by tara sim) both consist of just three books, which works pretty well for me.
but then there’s also the raven cycle series by maggie stiefvater, which consists of four books (+ an additional short story). with each book that i read, i fell deeper and deeper in love with this world the author built so i can’t forget that.
with that in mind, if i do the math, the maximum is five books. any more than that is overkill.
- how do you feel about cliffhangers?
they’re amazing.
ex: “chainbreaker (timekeeper, #2)” by tara sim.
- hardback or paperback?
some hardbacks come with a special design underneath the printed cover depending where you order them from (ex: “cemetery boys” by aiden thomas) so it is really cool to see that, plus the feeling of holding a hardcover book in my hands is immaculate.
however, paperbacks are better.
my copy of “white rabbit” by caleb roehrig proves it. it’s so floppy and brilliant, i can’t get enough of it.
- least favorite book?
“the unfortunate importance of beauty” by amanda filipacchi. it is the first (and hopefully last) book i ever gave a 1-star rating on goodreads.
- love triangles, yes or no?
i feel mostly meh about them because i just don’t care. i would prefer if there not be one because then there’d be less relationship drama but it could sometimes be fun seeing how readers are at such opposite sides when it comes to the ships.
(ex: addie & luc vs. addie & henry from “the invisible life of addie larue” by v.e. schwab. it’s not much of a love triangle but it’s close enough, i guess you can say).
i personally love addieluc.
- the most recent book you just couldn’t finish?
i tried giving “the inheritance games” by jennifer lynn barnes a second try over a month ago but i just couldn’t get into it.
if it was an adult, or even new adult (everyone in the online book community knows how many more books we need under the 18-22 age bracket), the story probably would work better, in my opinion, because it being in the young adult category just makes the writing feel off to me.
- a book you’re currently reading?
there’s two: “the weight of the stars” by k. ancrum + “china room” by sunjeev sahota.
- last book you recommended to someone?
“vicious” by v.e. schwab to a close friend of mine. i raved to him about eli ever and he found the premise really interesting so fingers crossed 🤞🏽
i have a bad habit of recommending books to non-readers but i genuinely can’t help it when i know the book in question would just be absolutely perfect for them.
like, i recommended aftg to this same friend a long while ago and it’s become so incredibly important to him, especially the character andrew, so that’s just a little fact that matters a lot to me.
- oldest book you’ve read?
“we have always lived in the castle” by shirley jackson (first published: 1962).
- newest book you’ve read?
it technically hasn’t even come out yet but it was my book of the month pick for august so it was an early release: “the heart principle (the kiss quotient, #3)” by helen hoang; it’s set to be published on august 30.
note: it can be read as a standalone.
- favorite author?
adam silvera was the first author i ever considered my favorite and he still is. but there’s also olivie blake.
- buying books or borrowing books?
i love that feeling of adding books to my personal collection but 9/10 of the time, i prefer borrowing them first so that i know for sure i want to own them for myself.
- a book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?
i don’t necessarily dislike it but i didn’t care too much about it: “the mark of athena (heroes of olympus, #3)” by rick riordan.
it was my least favorite of the series, although, “blood of olympus (heroes of olympus, #5)” was slightly disappointing, but only just because of how rushed the ending felt.
- bookmarks or dog-ears?
bookmarks!! there’s these charm ones i buy off of etsy and they’re really cute.
- a book you can always reread?
“autoboyography” by christina lauren; i originally answered this one with “masters of death” by olivie blake because it has become a huge comfort book of mine in the last couple of weeks but then someone by michael schulte just popped up in my shuffle and my mind changed.
the song’s always reminded me of sebastian & tanner from “autoboyography” so i couldn’t help including them in this tag because they mean a lot to me.
- can you read while listening to music?
i just listened to the entirety of taylor swift’s “red (deluxe)” album while reading “it ends with us” by colleen hoover so……yes.
- one pov or multiple povs?
multiple!! i especially love it when authors include the perspectives of some minor characters since personally, i think it adds more depth to the story (ex: the skybound saga by alex london).
a booktuber complained about this in “the jasmine throne” by tasha suri but it just made me that much more excited to read the author’s new adult fantasy.
- do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?
depends on the book, really.
i read the entirety of “firestarter (timekeeper, #3)” by tara sim all while laying in bed with very few social media breaks in between.
on the flip side, it took me over a couple weeks to finish “these violent delights” by chloe gong.
- who do you tag?
i wasn’t tagged to do this, it was just something i thought could be fun and it was. i hope maybe there’s any titles that stuck out to anyone who comes across this, reader or not, since i do believe that there’s always a book out there for everyone.
if this is something that could be fun for you, i tag: @tawmlinsun @kritiquer @flying-elliska @dreamingoftinystars and @minyardss

The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus, #4) | Book Review
by Rick Riordan
Tumblr media
Synopsis
Hazel stands at a crossroads. She and the remaining crew of the Argo II could return home with the Athena Parthenos statue and try to stop Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter from going to war. Or they could continue their quest to find the House of Hades, where they might be able to open the Doors of Death, rescue their friends Percy and Annabeth from Tartarus, and prevent monsters from being reincarnated in the mortal world. Whichever road they decide to take, they have to hurry, because time is running out. Gaea, the bloodthirsty Earth Mother, has set the date of August 1 for her rise to power. Annabeth and Percy are overwhelmed. How will the two of them make it through Tartarus? Starving, thirsty, and in pain, they are barely able to stumble on in the dark and poisonous landscape that holds new horrors at every turn. They have no way of locating the Doors of Death. Even if they did, a legion of Gaea's strongest monsters guards the Doors on the Tartarus side. Annabeth and Percy can't exactly launch a frontal assault. Despite the terrible odds, Hazel, Annabeth, Percy, and the other demigods of the prophecy know that there is only one choice: to attempt the impossible. Not just for themselves, but for everyone they love. Even though love can be the riskiest choice of all.

Thoughts
For some odd reason, I always find myself in a state of surprise at how much I love Rick Riordan’s books. Here’s why. I usually read one of his books once in a while because I do not want to reach a day where I have to wait for his next book. Sarcastically, the horror indeed. And because I do that, I usually only vaguely recall loving Riordan’s works but never fully understanding just why or how much. Hence, the surprise. Which is why I’m here to conclude, Uncle Rick’s books are magic.
If it’s not obvious enough, yes, I thoroughly enjoyed and loved The House of Hades. I have been wary about The Heroes of Olympus series every time I pick a book – from the series – up. This is due to the fact that I absolutely love the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and in addition, I love the characters in that series, especially Percy Jackson. Why do I get wary with The Heroes of Olympus then? Because it does not always focus on Percy and the amount of major characters doubled. Yes, it is still taking me a while to accept the “new” characters.
Plot (storyline, writing style, and flow of story etc.)
I must say, so far, The House of Hades has my favourite storyline in the series. I enjoyed the Argo II crew, mainly because I love Nico and Leo, and Hazel is finally starting to grow on me. What I really enjoyed, was Percy and Annabeth’s journey through Tartarus. That was something else and every part in Tartarus kept me captivated the entire time I was reading it.
Honestly, if this book had only focused on the Argo II crew’s journey, I would probably be bored out of my mind. Sure, I liked that part where Leo was stranded on Calypso’s island, and the part where Nico and Jason met up with Cupid. But other than that, the flow was boringly stagnant. The progress was slow and so when the Tartarus parts came up, I sprung into speed-read mode.
I hope you understand where I’m coming from. Like come on, when we are at the Tartarus bits, there’s Bob and Small Bob. Even the challenges or monsters Percy and Annabeth encountered were so much more interesting than Argo II gang. So, once again, Percy Jackson along with his wonderful girlfriend, Annabeth Chase, saved this book for me.
Characters
Is it obvious I really love the OG characters? I mean, I smiled widely when Rachel and Grover appeared for that tiny part. If you’ve reached this part of my review, you probably can tell I absolutely adore Percy and Annabeth. And I will never forget to mention my cinnamon roll, Nico di Angelo. These characters will always be my beloved.
Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the “new” characters. I used “” only because we are on book four already, so they aren’t really considered new anymore, semantics-wise. On the bright side, Leo has definitely grown on me, and I would like to thank his sarcasm and sense of humour for that.
Additionally, I found myself liking Hazel a lot in The House of Hades too. I honestly cannot remember what I specifically thought about her in the other books, but she matured a lot from what I can recall. Apart from Annabeth, Thalia, Clarisse and (now) Reyna, Hazel is another one of those kickass female demigods.
As for Jason and Piper, I do not dislike them but I do not find myself loving them too. Like what Hazel said, Jason’s too perfect. And Piper...in her own my-mother-is-Aphrodite-so-I’m-hella-charming way, she’s sometimes considered too perfect as well. Perfect characters are usually not fun to read about.
I guess, this finally brings me to Frank Zhang... I appreciate his growth and new-found maturity. But nope, there’s still nothing about him that I like. He is probably the only character I dislike, or at least he’s the only one I remember disliking and the feeling does not change in The House of Hades.
Conclusion
How does one tell if a book is a good book? How does one confirm an author writes beautifully?
When the author is able get his reader (in this case, me) to mourn for a Titan and a Giant. Sure, I am exaggerating here now but Bob and Damasen’s inclusion in The House of Hades was meant to shatter me via an overload of emotions, the good kind.
I noticed tears were forming when I reached the last few sentences of this book. They were the simplest words one can use and they brought out tears from me. THAT is what I call beautiful writing for a magnificent book.
Rating: 5/5
PS: Bob says hello.

Round 2! I tried to shorten the answers so as not to be repetitive, and I also added new FAQs for your convenience. My past self who wrote my first FAQ annoys me, and this one is more thorough anyway, so here you go. I still can’t believe you all actually interact with me enough that I have to make one of these.
Questions up here, answers under the cut.

18. fandom research
19. when did you start your blog?
20. how did you decide your url?
anti SJM basics
1. why are you an anti?
I love thinking critically about the media I consume. Though I wouldn’t say I’m particularly “anti” any text or author, some people classify any criticism as “anti.” To respect people in the main tags, I post in anti tags so they don’t have to see critical posts. Otherwise, I love talking about positive, neutral, and negative aspects of books.
2. why are you specifically anti SJM?
The Anti SJM Manifesto
What made you turn into an anti? x x
Rowan/Rowaelin: x x x
The fandom: x x x x x x
3. do you like anything about SJM’s books?
Yes. I like a lot of SJM’s ideas, but I don’t like how they’re executed at all. I highly enjoyed TAB, TOG-HOF, and the witch storyline of QOS. My favorite TOG characters are Manon, Chaol, Nehemia, and Sorscha. Honorable mention for Lysandra, Kaltain, and Asterin. My favorite ACOTAR characters are Nesta, Lucien, and Tarquin. Additional links: x x x x
If you want my positive thoughts on certain SJM characters, look up: “anti sjm: [character name]” and you’ll find them.
4. terminology and practices:
Anti SJM Glossary. Seeing as many of us have had bad experiences with stans and in one case, authors, we censor names so our posts stay in our own tags.
What is soap dick? From August 2018 x x.
Manongate? when KOA came out, Charlie Bowater’s promotional art (x) depicted Manon as Asian. Here’s more on why that’s a problematic and lazy decision on SJM and Bloomsbury’s part: x x.
5. why do you hold SJM to a higher standard than other authors?/why do you focus on criticizing this one woman more harshly than you do men?
SJM alone out of all the biggest YA authors has yet to make craft improvements or display a social awareness similar to what I’ve seen from her colleagues. I give all authors an equal chance, but SJM’s writing and behavior has significantly decreased in quality compared to other fantasy authors despite her books being lauded as complex and feminist works. However, I’m not perfect, so do feel welcome to send me an ask if you think I’m being unfair.
The anti SJM community is focused on women because we all mainly read women. Critiquing women doesn’t mean we are unaware, dismissive of, or silent about the issues in men’s work. The “anti” movements for the likes of GRRM do exist, but under a different name than “anti”–there are thousands of critical meta blogs, book/TV critics and reviewers, Youtubers, etc out there who discuss his flaws in depth. I also have lengthy anti GRRM, anti GOT, and anti ASOIAF tags. Finally, I personally find critiquing and discussing women’s work a lot more interesting, productive, and empowering than doing the same for men, especially because my blog’s focus is on the YA author/transformative fan community at large.
About Leigh Bardugo: x x x x x x x
About GRRM (and GOT): x x x x x x x
About Tolkien: I've only read The Hobbit and a third of Fellowship of the Ring, and I’ve only watched FotR, so I don’t say much about him at all.
6. did you see what xyz stan did?
Probably not, especially if what they did was off Tumblr. I don’t look at stan accounts unless someone informs me that my posts or I have come up in conversation on their blog. Any specific stan urls in asks will be redacted both for their privacy and my own well-being. Stans have doxxed, harassed, and discriminated against antis, including myself, so I’d rather save us all the trouble.
7. are you an anti for non-SJM stuff?
I most often talk about SJM’s books, but I’ve also been very critical of GOT/ASOIAF. Following GRRM, several other YA authors have appeared in positive, neutral, and critical lights. On the more critical side we have Cassandra Clare and JK Rowling, and a very little bit about Victoria Aveyard, John Green, Maggie Stiefvater, Stephenie Meyer, and Veronica Roth. Otherwise, I’ve talked about Susan Dennard, Rick Riordan, Leigh Bardugo, and Marie Rutkoski. Check out my YA critical tag for more. I’m also down to discuss franchises like Star Wars, Fantastic Beasts, MCU, etc, as well as TV shows. Basically anything big in genre fiction media, there’s a good chance I’ve read/watched it and I have opinions!

8. I have a question about writing and/or how to portray xyz identity...
First and foremost, check my “writing advice” and “writing advice: poc” tags to see if the question has already been answered.
I am black cis girl with a dual degree in women’s/gender studies and creative writing. I will best be able to answer questions regarding black characters, women, racial oppression and identity as a whole, and most questions about queer characters. There’s a chance I can provide a basic answer to questions about demographics outside of these, but I’ll most likely advise you to ask another blogger or seek out sensitivity readers.
9. can you please tag...?
Yes. Just send an ask and I’ll tag anything. I’ve turned off all Tumblr notifications for this account so I probably won’t see tag requests in comments unless you comment within a day or so of the post.
10. is it okay if I like [x author]/[y series] even if I know they’re problematic?
Absolutely. I’m not the liking-things police and I can’t control whether you like something or not. There’s no such thing as an unproblematic author or unproblematic series, so you just have to like what you like at your own discretion and with a critical eye. As long as you’re aware of the issues and not denying or ignoring them, maybe even seeking out other people whose opinions add to the conversation, you’re good. It’s exhausting to be 100% critical but harmful to be 100% uncritical, so you have to seek out critics you like and figure out how to maintain a dialogue with the text and/or the author. The balance is different for everyone but once you find it, it gets easier to keep up!
11. what are your suggestions for aspiring authors who want to write diversely?
Concepts to be aware of and tropes to avoid: male gaze, the Bechdel test, the Mako Mori test, the sexy lamp test, fridging, Orientalism, xenoface (called “the Gamora Phenomenon” on my blog), black best friend, Spicy Latina, Dragon Lady, bury your gays, disability narratives, queerbaiting.
What not to do when creating a culture.
My advice about writing POC.
Check out these blogs if you like: x x x.
Follow as diversely as possible. Follow multiple blogs, especially writing- or fandom-themed blogs, run by POC (especially women and LGBTQ+), bloggers from religiously marginalized groups, bloggers with disabilities, older bloggers, younger bloggers, international bloggers, plus size bloggers, etc. Everyone has different perspectives and opinions, so it’s best to read from multiple sources.
Magnify marginalized voices in conversations about diversity, and LISTEN to what they are telling you.
Read diversely! Read genre fiction written by marginalized people. Maybe even read some gender, queer, race, or disability theory if you like. I’m personally a fan of Audre Lorde, Anne McClintock, and Sara Ahmed, but I like a lot more.
Seek out multiple sensitivity readers for the specific identity you are trying to represent (ie if you are trying to write a Muslim woman, ask a Muslim woman to sensitivity read for you. Experiences are not interchangeable so don’t treat them as such).
Don’t let the research stop here. This is just the beginning. There are plenty of awesome and accessible resources out there if you want to know more. I started learning about this stuff on sites like Tumblr, Goodreads, and Youtube. The Goodreads review sections, especially for YA books, are so entertaining and full of commentators coming at texts with feminist, queer, and POC lenses if you look in the right spots. There are also podcasts and Youtube videos about feminism, history of queerbaiting, and such. Happy reading/listening/writing!
personal
12. is it okay if I message you?
If we’ve been mutuals and/or we’ve interacted for a while (at least a few weeks or so), absolutely. When it comes to questions about writing or diversity advice in WIPs, I prefer asks (off or on anon is fine; if you’d like to be off anon but answered privately, you can indicate that in the ask). That way, other people with similar questions can join the discussion and I’m less likely to repeat myself. That said, I’m not opposed to messages; I just get shy around people I don’t know :). Regardless of ask or message, please try to ask the full question as clearly as possible so I can answer it to my best ability. Generally, you can expect an answer to your message or ask within a few days to a week of sending.
If you’re looking for a fight and/or if you start using condescending, rude, or discriminatory language, you will be ignored.
13. why don’t you post about books/shows/movies you actually like?
I do! :)
14. favorites?
books: Harry Potter; The Hunger Games; Six of Crows; Percy Jackson; The Winner’s Trilogy; Angelfall; The Secret History; Othello; Jane Eyre; The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe/The Magician’s Nephew; A Storm of Swords.
movies: Alien, Blade Runner 2049, Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Annihilation, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Terminator 2, The Breakfast Club, The Lion King, Moonlight dir. Barry Jenkins, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Tangled.
tv series: Sense8, Battlestar Galactica (2004-2008), Black Mirror, The X Files, The 100, Westworld (season 1 only), Watchmen, Homeland (seasons 1-4 only), Orphan Black, Breaking Bad, The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl, Fleabag.
15. book suggestions?
Book recs!
Maxine, did you read/watch...?
16. are you a writer/what are you writing/do you plan on publishing?
I hope to publish, yes! I write mostly YA fantasy, but I also love sci fi, crime drama, and certain elements of horror so I have works in or influenced by all of those genres. I want to get my foot in the YA fantasy door first and foremost :). Check out “polysorscha writes things” if you want to know more specifics.
17. is it okay if I follow you on other social media?
As of now I keep my blog disconnected from my personal life, so I don’t share my other socials but feel free to follow me over on my main blog @ripley-stark if you like! It’s just pretty gifs and photos of my favorite movies and shows, social justice, meta reblogs here and there, and rambling in the tags. Don’t feel like you have to follow if you don’t want to; I say a lot more on here.
That being said, I have given my Goodreads to a handful of people who ask, so if you want to track what I’m reading, private message me and I’ll send you the link. In the case that I share the link with you, please respect my privacy and do not repost or share the link anywhere else unless you see me share it on my blog publicly.
18. fandom research:
In March to May 2019, I conducted a survey on my blog in an attempt to gather information about fandom through a social justice–specifically, intersectional feminist–lens. Here are the results and my analysis of the survey x. The purpose for this data collection was to write my final undergraduate research paper in one of my two majors, women’s and gender studies (the other is creative writing!), which focused on diversity and inclusion in genre fiction media and fandom. The final paper is about 11k words. I haven’t publicly published it, but message me if you’re interested in reading it! I also plan on doing more similar surveys to gather information about what audiences want to see in future media, so if anyone is interested, please send messages, asks, comments etc about what YOU want to see and/or ideas about how we can spread the info to creators. This is much bigger than just me and I can’t do it without your help. I love hearing from diverse voices and amplifying them as much as I can. Everyone’s perspective is meaningful!
19. when did you start your blog?
No earlier than the end of April or beginning of May 2018.
20. how did you decide your url?
I wish the Celaena/Dorian/Chaol love triangle resolved in a polyamorous relationship, and that Nehemia and Sorscha were thriving. Seeing as I am black, Sorscha is one of two characters in T0G who represents me. Thus, polyamorous + Sorscha. :)

Note
YOU'RE TURN avoid all the questions you like, I still enjoy reading indirect answers ( •⌄• )
Yep, I was expecting this. XD This was pretty fun even if there are way too many “I don’t know”s for my liking ^^; .
1. What is your middle name?
Lesley.
2. How old are you?
Old enough to have had more than one cat. :P
3. What is your birthday?
May 27th.
4. What is your zodiac sign?
Gemini.
5. What is your favorite color?
Teal.
6. What’s your lucky number?
I don’t really have one, so I just kind of default to seven. X’D
7. Do you have any pets?
Three cats! *snuggles them* And 14 chickens, but they only sort of count as pets.
8. Where are you from?
I was born in New York City, but I’ve lived in Western Washington most of my life. Ethnically, mainly Scottish and Welsh.
9. How tall are you?
5'6"? 5'7"? IDK, it’s been forever since I was properly measured.
10. What shoe size are you?
Varies by brand and whether I’m getting men’s or women’s shoes (I have wide feet and most ladies’ shoes are too narrow, so I buy men’s a lot). Generally, somewhere around 9 – 10W?
11. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
That I actually wear regularly—three, counting my slippers. I have a few more that are either seasonal or old but still usable if I need them for something.
12. What was your last dream about?
My mom got me a dog. It was some kind of teacup Chihuahua-type, which is about the furthest thing possible from what I would want in a dog. So I was stressing about it (“Do I have to keep it? Is there a way I can find it a new home without hurting Mom’s feelings, or am I stuck with it?”) while I had the dog on the counter and was feeding it. All I had to feed it were these flat round dog biscuits that were almost as big as the dog’s head, so I needed to break them into pieces for it. It was sitting on the counter, trembling and snuffling and eating these biscuits, and occasionally trying to eat a bigger one and choking, and I was looking at it and sort of feeling sorry for it but also wanting to cry because I was stuck with this dog I didn’t want. ^^;
13. What talents do you have?
Nothing really? I can write and draw a little, but I consider those skills, not talents, so.
14. Are you psychic in any way?
I don’t know? I mean, I get feelings about things sometimes, but they’re not consistently accurate enough to say it’s more than luck, so.
15. Favorite song?
I don’t have a single favorite. These three are pretty much tied for first:
Unravel by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure
Share the World by TVXQ
Ideal White by Mashiro Ayano
And this one is such a close second that when I’m in the mood for it it’s basically tied as well, so it deserves a mention:
Revive by Kuraki Mai
These are totally spoilers for the “10 Days of Anime Openings” thing I’m doing right now, ahaha.
16. Favorite movie?
You expect me to pick one? (In all seriousness, I could spend multiple hours reminding myself which movies I really love, then trying to narrow it down, and still probably not be able to settle on one favorite, so I’ll pass. X’D)
17. Who would be your ideal partner?
Someone who I can trust, who won’t leave once the “honeymoon period” is over; someone who can demonstrate that I matter to them (remembering things I say, getting/making/showing me things I might like, basically anything that shows they were thinking about me); preferably someone who’s a least a little more outgoing than I am, with a sense of humor that works with mine, and who likes animals and anime/manga.
18. Do you want children?
Hell no.
19. Do you want a church wedding?
Not really.
20. Are you religious?
Not especially.
21. Have you ever been to the hospital?
Nope, aside from when I was born.
22. Have you ever got in trouble with the law?
No. I’ve been in the car with my mom a couple times when she got pulled over for things like a light being out, but that’s all.
23. Have you ever met any celebrities?
I’ve met a lot of people involved in anime/manga and related fields. :P Also a few authors (Jim Butcher, Rick Riordan, Kevin Hearne). As far as major “almost everyone knows who this person is” celebrities, Bill Clinton came to my town once and I got to shake his hand.
24. Baths or showers?
Showers for getting clean; baths for relaxing (if the tub is big enough).
25. What color socks are you wearing?
Blue and gray wool socks.
26. Have you ever been famous?
Not really.
27. Would you like to be a big celebrity?
Not big big, but it’d be kind of nice to be an author and/or artist who’s successful enough that I don’t need a day job, so…a bit famous would be good.
28. What type of music do you like?
I can enjoy most music, but my favorite is probably pop/rock (especially Japanese/Asian), and soundtracks (yes, I know soundtracks can cover a lot of different genres, but most of them have a sort of feeling in common to me, like you can tell they’re part of a story? Does that make sense? IDK, I like a lot of instrumental music).
29. Have you ever been skinny dipping?
Nope.
30. How many pillows do you sleep with?
One.
31. What position do you usually sleep in?
On my stomach or my side.
32. How big is your house?
Not minuscule, but not that big, either. We really need to move, though.
33. What do you typically have for breakfast?
Either a protein shake or toast/rice cakes with cheese. Sometimes eggs if my mom wants some when I’m ready to eat.
34. Have you ever fired a gun?
No.
35. Have you ever tried archery?
Yep!
36. Favorite clean word?
I don’t know. I like a lot of words. ^^
37. Favorite swear word?
Shorter ones, I guess? I think I say (or type) stuff like damn, hell, shit, crap, etc. the most.
38. What’s the longest you’ve ever gone without sleep?
Hmm…about a day and a half, I think? I was up all day, then took an overnight bus and wasn’t able to fall asleep during the ride. I had also just gotten a cold, so I was exhausted and pretty miserable.
39. Do you have any scars?
A couple faint ones. One on my hand from I-have-no-idea, and one on my forearm from losing my balance and falling on top of my cats while they were play-fighting. ^^;
40. Have you ever had a secret admirer?
Not that I know of?
41. Are you a good liar?
If I know I’m going to be lying, I’ve planned what to say, and the other person’s response doesn’t go beyond what I’m prepared for, I’m okay. Lying on the spot? Or having to come up with additional explanations if they ask something I wasn’t expecting? I’m terrible.
42. Are you a good judge of character?
No idea.
43. Can you do any accents other than your own?
Not well/accurately, especially if it’s more than a few words. And I’m too shy to do them in front of other people 99% of the time. I occasionally talk to my cats in an accent when we’re alone, though.
44. Do you have a strong accent?
I don’t think so?
45. What is your favorite accent?
IDK, I like a lot of accents. c:
46. What is your personality type?
I don’t know? If this means MBTI, I’ve read several descriptions and taken multiple quizzes and I still don’t have a definitive answer. Except for the “I”. I’m sure about that part. X’D
47. What is your most expensive piece of clothing?
Hmm…probably my jacket? It’s pretty worn now, but still perfectly usable, and I’ve had it for years. I don’t remember how much it was, but I know I was kind of apprehensive about spending so much on one thing, even though 1) I really needed a jacket, 2) It was part of a clearance sale, and 3) I wasn’t the one paying for it.
48. Can you curl your tongue?
Yes.
49. Are you an innie or an outie?
Innie.
50. Left or right handed?
Technically I’m mixed-handed, but if you’re just going by writing/drawing hand, then left.
51. Are you scared of spiders?
Not really. I don’t want them touching me or crawling on my desk or anything, and sudden!spider where I wasn’t expecting it will make me jump a bit, but I’m not actually afraid of them.
52. Favorite food?
How could anyone be expected to answer a question like this??
53. Favorite foreign food?
See above answer. :P
54. Are you a clean or messy person?
I’m a messy person who wishes they were clean. ^^;

I’m not sure? Maybe “You’re so cute!” I say that to Shinichi at least half a dozen times a day. XD
56. Most used word?
No idea.
57. How long does it take for you to get ready?
If I’m only doing the things I actually need to do to be ready (bathroom, get dressed, eat, feed cats) and I don’t need to shower…probably between 30 minutes and an hour? But I like to relax with tea, check stuff online, cuddle Shinichi, etc. before I go anywhere, so if I have time to do all that…at least 2 hours. :P
58. Do you have much of an ego?
I tend to both feel like I’m worthless and like I should have the best of everything at the same time, so…I don’t know where that leaves me, haha. OTL
59. Do you suck or bite lollipops?
Suck. Sometimes bite when it gets down to the end.
60. Do you talk to yourself?
Yes. Or to my cats.
61. Do you sing to yourself?
Yep! Especially if a song I know the words to is stuck in my head (I’ve been low-key singing Unravel to myself all day X’D).
62. Are you a good singer?
I don’t think I’m horrible, but I don’t think I’m much good, either.
63. Biggest Fear?
Being abandoned or hated, having a permanent disability, being in an unstable living situation, talking to people.
64. Are you a gossip?
I like to hear it (depending on the subject), but I don’t really do much gossiping myself.
65. Best dramatic movie you’ve seen?
I don’t know. ^^;
66. Do you like long or short hair?

A lot of things.
72. Are you scared of the dark?
Not that much, but sometimes I get a little nervous, especially if I’m outside.
73. Do you correct people when they make mistakes?
In my head, constantly. To their face, rarely. Depends on who it is and how important it is for the mistake to be corrected.
74. Are you ticklish?
Yep.
75. Have you ever started a rumor?
I don’t think so?
76. Have you ever been in a position of authority?
I guess babysitting counts?
77. Have you ever drank underage?
Yes, with my mom.
78. Have you ever done drugs?
No.
79. Who was your first real crush?
Probably this boy named Will who I went to school with until halfway through second grade. He took me to a Disney movie once (just the two of us, no adults).
80. How many piercings do you have?
None.
81. Can you roll your Rs?“
Kind of?
82. How fast can you type?
Not that fast.
83. How fast can you run?
Even slower than I type.
84. What color is your hair?
Brown. When it’s freshly washed it has hints of red and gold in it, but mostly it’s just a medium brown.
85. What color are your eyes?
Hazel.
86. What are you allergic to?
Nothing.
87. Do you keep a journal?
Not a proper one, like talking about what happened to me that day or whatever. I have a rant journal where I can be salty and unreasonable or depressed and full of self-hatred without bothering anyone.
88. What do your parents do?
My dad was an actor. My mom’s done a bunch of stuff—gardening, sewing, caregiving, cooking.
89. Do you like your age?
Hell no. I can’t relate to people my age very well. Since I was ten or so, almost all my friends have been younger than me, and the older I get, the bigger the age gap gets. It’d be great if I could de-age myself a bit every few years. ^^;
90. What makes you angry?
A lot. But I hate confrontation so I mostly just keep it to myself.
91. Do you like your own name?
Yeah.
92. Have you already thought of baby names, and if so what are they?
Well, I’ve had some names in mind for future animals for years, if that counts.
93. Do you want a boy a girl for a child?
Can I have another cat instead? Or a dog. Or a goat. Or a horse. Or a…
94. What are your strengths?
??? Beats me.
95. What are your weaknesses?
A lot.
96. How did you get your name?
I don’t know for sure. I think my mom liked it? It shows up a few times on my dad’s side of the family, though, so maybe that influenced the decision a bit, who knows?
97. Were your ancestors royalty?
Well, according to Wikipedia, my clan is descended from an ancient royal house, but it doesn’t give any specifics, so who knows? :P
98. Do you have any scars?
Someone took a wrong turn at question 39.
99. Color of your bedspread?
I’m using a sleeping bag right now, which is black. Though I also have an old Inuyasha fleece throw that I use on colder nights (and which Shinichi has been sleeping on for the past week or so).
100. Color of your room?
A pretty ugly bluish gray. We always planned to paint it, but never got around to it.
