★lookism characters with an s/o with a similar fighting style as Bayonetta pt.2
feat. Johan Seong, Zack Lee, Mira Kim
So the first one did pretty good so im gonna do a second one :) (edit: it's been ages since i've posted (i fell out of my hyper fixation on lookism BUT NOW ITS BACK YIPPIE) and college is sort of kicking me in the ass rn) not proofread
sorry zack fans but his part is really short...
★Johan Seong
Everyone knows of his "copy and paste" abilities, right? Even with little knowledge of a fighting technique, he's almost always been able to pull it off without any difficulty.
So why is it that he can't copy your technique?
He groaned, his hands on his knees as he panted, letting beads of sweat drip from his forehead and his shirt just slightly damp from the sweating. He hasn't been able to catch up with you at all during this training session. The way you'd fly through the air with no trouble, as if there wasn't such a thing as wind resistance. You were so quick with your movement, making it hard for him to even catch up with you. And even if he could predict your dodging technique, he couldn't predict where you'd dodge or if you'd try and land a blow onto him. You were so predictable yet so unpredictable as you'd never do the same thing twice, there was always something new with you.
"Goddammit," he muttered to himself, growing frustrated with his own slow movement, or rather what's slow compared to you. Usually he's quickly against most opponents, but of course you aren't one of those opponents. You giggle, "uh oh, looks like someone's struggling. Wanna call quits? No shame in doing so, Baby," your words were not comforting in anyway, your teasing tone giving away your true intentions. And who was Johan to not give into your obvious trap.
He wiped the sweat off of his face, and with a deep breath in he straightened himself up. Getting into a fighting position, one you havent seen before, he raises a hand, beckoning you to come forward with his pointer and middle finger, "you fuckin' wish."
With a laugh, you got into position as well, "finally gonna take me seriously?" you teased, your lips curled into a beautiful grin.
And with that, you finally make the first move, jumping up and forward toward your boyfriend. Your left leg winding back just as quickly as it landed a kick on your boyfriend's face.
-
"aww, you poor thing! I'm so sorry! lemme kiss it better," you apologized, taking Johan's face into your hands, careful to not grab too hard and to avoid bruises and bumps. Softly and gently, you peppered his face with kisses. And despite his frustration towards you, he let you do as you pleased (as if he didn't enjoy your coddling and kisses. The pink on his cheeks told you everything you needed to know).
★Zack Lee
"Do I look like I need help?"
"yes, very much so."
He sighs, "alright fine, but don't you dare get hurt!"
You laugh, "yeah, that's funny." that earned a confused look from zack and an even funnier look when you stood on your hands kicked your heel into a workers nose, causing a messy nose bleed and most likely a broken nose.
"what the fu-" his distraction and attention on you left him open, a rather weak punch to the jaw causing him to get his head back in the game.
Just as he takes down the second to last worker, he's almost taken out by the last one but is saved when a chain wraps around his torso and is yanked against the ground, his head hitting the ground first causing him to pass out.
On the other side of that chain was you. How were you able to slam a man 3x your size to the ground with a chain no less? Zack has dated you for a pretty long time but has known you as a friend for longer, and he's had no idea how or when you've acquired such skills. but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't thinking about marriage right now.
"hello? Zack? Earth to Zack!...what the hell is wrong with this dude-"
"marriage..."
"okay, what the flip man."
★Mira Kim
it was supposed to be a peaceful and fun date. And it was for a while. You and your girlfriend, Mira, first got coffee at your favorite cafe, then went shopping at the local mall, and now as your leaving the mall's arcade, hand in hand with Mira, a group of mall stop you from exiting.
"what do we have here?" the one in front, who also happened to be the tallest and most menacing, mocked the two of you. Mira, unafraid and not one to give into bullying or intimidation, replied, "we're on a date, can't you see that?" she raised hers and your connected hands, showing them evidence.
The tall one laughs, his three lackeys laughing along with him, "oh sweetie, I know you can do a lot better than," he looked you up and down, "that." He takes a step closer to Mira, though she stands her ground, refusing to move or let go of your hand. She already knew you had her back, though she's never seen you in action, the stories told from Zack is enough to tell her that you're more than capable of protecting her and yourself.
The man smiles, his hot breath wafting in Mira's face causing her to scrunch her nose in disgust. "I'm a much better person to be going with, doncha think?" it was much worse for Mira when he talked.
And just when the man was about to move closer, he was rough shoved backwards. "yeah, that's enough," you step in front of Mira, realizing that this man was taking it too far and would go farther if he could.
But apparently, the shove backwards was not enough hint for him. "mother fucker!" he wasted no time throwing a punch at you. You deflect it by simply shoving his arm away followed by a kick underneath his chin. he damn near flies backward and onto his back, your leg straight upward in front of you for a few seconds before you slowly lower it back down.
Mira stood behind you, stunned with her hand covering her mouth. Her shock increases when she realizes that the man was now unconscious as his three goonies try to shake him awake. They try to point fingers at you, blaming him for his 'death', which was ridiculous because it was very clear that he was still breathing by the way his chest rose up and down. Of course their accusations cease when you smile down at them, your smile full of mischief and malice.
They end up dragging away their leader and you and Mira were able enjoy the rest of your date in the mall in peace.
"(name)"
"yes, sweets?"
"that was really hot..."

( 𝟮𝟱 ) ✏ 𝗶 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼
𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: suggestive ?? not really but it's implied, deceit
𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁: 𝟥𝗄
𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲
“wony, i have to go. like now.” y/n stuttered out quickly, ignoring how close the other girl was to her.
the taller girl’s brown locks fell over her shoulders in loose waves and the cherry blossom perfume she wore smelled even stronger than ever.
“oh, how come?” wonyoung replied in a soft tone, still leaning closer to the smaller girl. “i want you to stay.” she added, gently putting a hand on y/n’s exposed thigh.
y/n could already feel the disappointment in her sister’s gaze with each passing moment she was with wony.
“you don’t understand,” she asserted, moving to slide off the couch, only for wonyoung to grab her wrist to prevent her from leaving. “jennie–” “no,” wonyoung cut her off with a snap, and y/n couldn’t help but be startled at the sudden shift in her demeanor. “you don't understand. why are you acting like this? was it because of what kazuha said? i already told you she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”
jang wonyoung had never snapped at her.
y/n's heart raced at the sudden change in wonyoung's tone and demeanor. it felt as though she was facing a completely different person, someone unrecognizable from the wonyoung she thought she knew.
"n-no, she didn’t say anything," y/n muttered, her voice trembling as she tried to pull her wrist away from wonyoung's grasp.
y/n’s cat-like eyes held a mixture of pure shock and confusion at the change in character. she didn’t like the icy stare the taller girl was giving her, it made her feel like she was making a mistake.
wonyoung thought the smaller girl looked pathetic. it made her smile.
“i want to kiss you, y/n.” wony muttered, placing a hand on y/n’s cheek in admiration. everything about her was everything she wanted. “don’t you want to kiss me?”
y/n's heart raced as she felt wony’s hand against her cheek, her mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. confusion battled with a strange sense of longing that she couldn't quite understand. she could feel her cheeks flush, her breath catching in her throat at wonyoung's unexpected confession.
when jimin confessed to her, it felt nothing like this. was this just different?
or was it just wrong?
“wony,” kim y/n stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. “this feels...wrong.”
wonyoung's hand slipped from y/n's cheek as if she had been burned, withdrawing slightly. her eyes, once filled with a glint of anticipation, now held a hint of frustration, though she tried to mask it.
“i understand,” wony said softly, attempting to maintain her composure. “it was stupid of me to think you’d like me like that. you’re just too good for me, huh?” the taller girl huffed and clenched her jaw as she rose from the couch and grabbed her keys from the nearby hallway shelf.
“wait,” y/n answered back as she quickly followed the taller girl. “wony, it's not like that.”
as wonyoung reached for the doorknob, y/n's hurried footsteps echoed behind her. the desperation in y/n's voice tugged the ghost of a smirk on her own lips before returning stoic. with her hand hovering over the door handle, she turned to look over her shoulder.
"it's not like that," y/n repeated, her tone urgent as she reached out, gently grasping wonyoung's arm to stop her from leaving. "i didn't mean it that way."
"then what did you mean, y/n?" wony’s voice was raised as she turned to face y/n fully, taking in the panicked expression of the smaller girl.
“it's just unexpected," she quickly stammered, her eyes pleading for wony to understand. “i've never done this before. it's different, and i'm scared.”
wonyoung's expression softened slightly, a planned agenda in her thoughts as she looked down at the smaller girl.
“scared?” the brunette echoed, her tone sounding something similar to sympathy. “scared of what?”
“yes, i'm scared,” y/n admitted, her grip on wonyoung's arm tightening as if seeking solace in the taller girl's presence. “i’m scared because…”
y/n hesitated, feeling torn between her instincts and wonyoung's persuasive words. her mind was clouded with uncertainty, her heart a tumultuous mix of emotions she couldn't decipher.
“i don't think i know what i feel,” y/n mustered out, her voice wavering as she struggled to articulate her thoughts.
"i understand," the brunette said, her voice laced with faux empathy. “sometimes, feelings can be confusing. but maybe... just maybe, you need a little push to understand them better.”
y/n looked up, a perplexed expression clouding her features. “a push?”
wonyoung nodded, a faint glimmer of assurance in her eyes. “yes, maybe an action can help clarify your feelings. sometimes, actions speak louder than words.”
before y/n could process her words, wonyoung leaned in closer, her lips hovering near y/n's in both a tempting and coaxing way.
“maybe this will help,” wonyoung murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. “do you feel like kissing me now?”
caught off guard once again, y/n's heart raced with uncertainty. conflicting emotions battled within her, but wonyoung's words laid a safety net, pushing her to act.
and before she could fully comprehend her actions, y/n leaned in and kissed her.
the kiss only lasted a few seconds before y/n pulled away, eyes widened in astonishment at her own impulsiveness. regret washed over her, and a sense of discomfort settled in her chest, leaving her feeling even more confused and lost.
"i-i'm sorry," y/n stuttered, her voice trembling with a mixture of shock and perhaps regret. "i don't know why i did that."
wonyoung tugged y/n closer to her, slipping a hand on her waist as she used the other to gently rest against y/n’s lower lip.
“don’t be sorry.”she whispered, ignoring the way y/n’s eyes filled with even more turmoil. “do you want to kiss me again?”
even though y/n couldn’t think straight, she didn’t think kissing wonyoung was a bad thing.
but y/n couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. however, her head was too cloudy to figure it out.
all she could give the taller girl was a hesitant nod, which made wony smile in a way y/n had never seen before.
“good,” she whispered, her voice lower than before as she gently kissed y/n’s neck. “because i want to kiss you again, too.”
y/n was too caught up in the cherry blossom perfume on wonyoung’s skin to remember that her sister was waiting at home for her. matter of fact, she forgot about it entirely until the next morning.
until jennie called y/n at 8 am, demanding for her to come home right that instant.
as y/n's phone rang incessantly in the early hours, she stirred from her sleep, her heart sinking with each ring. groggy and disoriented, she reached for her phone and saw jennie's name flashing on the screen. the urgency in her sister's tone jolted her awake.
"where are you?" jennie's voice crackled through the line, filled with frustration and concern. "you were supposed to be home last night. i've been calling and texting you for hours!"
"jennie?" y/n shot up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. y/n's heart skipped a beat as the memories of the previous night came flooding back. panic started to settle in when she realized how long she had been gone for.
“why didn’t you come home last night?” the idol repeated, frustration in her tone evident. “mom was worried sick.”
"i-i'm sorry, unnie," y/n stammered, scrambling to gather her thoughts. "i lost track of time. i'll be home soon."
without waiting for a response, y/n hastily hung up and turned to find wonyoung still sleeping peacefully beside her. guilt gnawed at her conscience as she realized the implications of her actions.
"wonyoung, i have to go," y/n murmured, gently shaking her awake. wonyoung stirred, blinking sleepily as she looked at y/n. "what's wrong?"
"i should have been home last night," y/n explained hurriedly, a sense of urgency in her voice. "i have to go now. can you take me back to my place?"
wonyoung's expression darkened for a moment, a flicker of disappointment crossing her features. nevertheless, she nodded silently and got up, helping y/n gather her things before driving her back to her house.
the atmosphere inside the car was thick with tension. wonyoung's silence spoke volumes, her gaze fixed on the road ahead, a veil of disappointment shrouding her usually expressive eyes. the air was quiet, uninterrupted except for the hum of the engine and the occasional sound of breathing from wonyoung whenever she vaped.
as they approached y/n's house, wonyoung pulled up to the gate, a faint sigh escaping her lips. “you seriously let her just control your life? you’re an adult.”
"she's my sister, wonyoung," y/n replied softly, her voice tinged with defensiveness. "it's not easy to go against her wishes, even if i'm an adult."
just as the gate opened, wony drove her mercedes through and made her way up to the front of y/n’s home. y/n could see her sister standing from the balcony, arms folded in a black chanel hoodie and matching sweatpants.
wonyoung also could see the idol, and for a moment she was thankful for her tinted windows.
“do you want me to talk to her for you? i think i should do that.” wony’s tone held an edge to it as she continued driving, and y/n slightly panicked. wonyoung must have had a death wish if she wanted to do something like that.
but then that’s when y/n noticed the other car pulling up behind them, and y/n couldn’t help but thank every god in the sky for sending in the cavalry.
“oh,” y/n relaxed further into wony’s front seat as she put her hand over her face, both in embarrassment and relief. “she’s here already?”
confusion crossed the driver’s features as she glanced at the figure stepping out of a white bmw. “who?”
“minjeong.”
sure enough, the student council president looked at her watch before turning behind her and seeing y/n and wony through the windshield.
wonyoung took a long drag from her vape as she made eye contact with the president, exhaling a cloud of mist before turning her attention to y/n, still seated beside her. there was a mix of curiosity in her gaze as she observed y/n's hesitance.
"you sure you don't want me to stick around?" wonyoung asked as a joke, her voice tinged with what sounded like concern. y/n simply offered a weak smile, trying to mask her inner turmoil.
“no, i'll manage. thanks for the ride, wony.”
wonyoung nodded slowly, though reluctance lingered in her expression. "alright. call me?"
“i will,” y/n hastily promised, finally stepping out of the car. she closed the door and waved a quick goodbye to the other girl before making her way toward the house, steeling herself for the confrontation awaiting her.
but when wonyoung took a glance at jennie on the balcony, she was shocked to see a set of piercing eyes already looking back at her. nonetheless, she offered a hesitant nod towards jennie before she swiftly pulled away from the front of the house, deciding it was best not to stay longer.
y/n turned to minjeong, who had both of her hands on her backpack straps, a pair of black frames, and a half smile on her face. the president surely looked the part of the highest gpa holder, that was for sure.
y/n felt a surge of gratitude as she glanced at minjeong, never once having this feeling from the sight of her tutor. perhaps it was because she was the only reason why wonyoung didn’t get out of her car and start WW3 with jennie.
"hi, president," y/n greeted gratefully, trying to break the awkward tension in the air. "sorry i just got here."
minjeong adjusted her glasses, her smile widening slightly. “hi, y/n. no need to apologize,” minjeong replied awkwardly, not used to receiving such a warm welcome from the usually snappy girl.
once inside, the two girls sat down across from each other at the dining room table. minjeong pulled out her pencil pouch and a few papers. y/n opened her mouth to say something, but before she could, the president quickly slid over a black pen to her.
“how did you know i was going to ask for that?” y/n chuckled in disbelief. without looking up from her papers, minjeong replied.
“you never have anything to write with at school. it’s safe to assume it's the same here at your home.”
before the idol’s sister could respond, minjeong turned the papers, setting them neatly in front of y/n. "so, here’s every single test you’ve done since having wonyoung help you.”
y/n nodded, smiling at the bright red a+’s on all of them. “yeah, what about them?”
the president gave y/n a pointed look before setting down a different colored piece of paper next to each exam.
“these are the answer keys. i want you to tell me what’s different about your tests compared to the answer keys.”
and that’s when y/n jade noticed something she never had before.
her smile faltered as she stared at the tests and their corresponding answer keys, a sense of realization slowly dawning upon her. she began meticulously comparing each question against its correct answer on the key, her brows furrowing in concentration.
as she went through the papers, a growing sense of unease brewed. the differences between her answers and the keys were becoming apparent. major errors, misconceptions, and different other details stared back at her, starkly different from the perfection reflected in the answer keys.
her heart sank as she started to comprehend the depth of her mistakes. y/n had been consistently scoring A+ grades, thinking she understood the material thoroughly, but the discrepancies she was discovering now revealed a different truth.
she looked up at minjeong, her expression a mix of shock and confusion. “i thought i was doing well.” her brows furrowed as she looked across the table.
“you were,” minjeong's expression was compassionate but firm as she handed y/n four tests and their answer keys. “now, look at the ones you took with me.”
y/n took the papers and compared once again, ignoring the failing grade in the corner of each test. but she realized something she hadn’t ever thought about before.
minjeong was helping her more than she thought.
there was a marked improvement in her understanding, even if her grades didn't reflect it. the tests done under minjeong's guidance showed more detailed workings, clearer explanations, and a deeper comprehension of the subject matter, even if the final answer was incorrect.
the only reason y/n got failing grades with minjeong were because of small, stupid mistakes. a forgotten sign, a missed step, or a miscalculated number.
it was never just because she didn’t get it.
looking up at minjeong, y/n felt a mix of gratitude and guilt. she hadn't realized the extent to which minjeong's help had made a difference. however, minjeong's expression remained inscrutable, her usual calm demeanor intact.
“i see it now,” y/n whispered, a tinge of sheepishness coloring her voice. “i've been learning more from you than i thought.”
the student council president nodded softly, taking back the tests and organizing them into their folders. “we need to get your gpa up so you don’t get kicked out.”
the idol's sister stared in disbelief at minjeong's blunt statement, the reminder hitting her like a train. she hadn't fully remembered the gravity of her falling gpa.
"i forgot it was that serious," y/n admitted, her voice tinged with concern. "what do i need to do so that doesn’t happen?”
minjeong's expression softened slightly at the sight of the fear on the other girl’s face, a hint of concern flickering in her eyes.
“don’t worry, i’ll help you.”
and from the hallway, jennie smiled softly to herself. she knew her sister was going to be alright.

“Echoes of Redemption”
Characters: Jay Halstead x Black!Reader.
Summary: After a tumultuous relationship marked by Jay Halstead's absences and affairs, you begin to rebuild your life.
Warnings: A smidge of profanity, a bit of humor, angst, anger, fluff, and a lil’ smut👀😆.
Word Count: 5,000+.
A/N: This is my first Halstead fix, but hopefully you lovelies will love it🩵.
Inspired By🩵:
Adam cradled your work bag and purse in one hand, his broad shoulders carrying the weight of your exhaustion. His free hand pressed the down button for the elevator, the soft ping of the mechanism cutting through the silence. You sighed deeply, closing your eyes for a brief moment, letting the weariness wash over you.
“Tired?” he asked, concern lacing his voice.
“Exhausted. I could sleep for days,” you responded, the fatigue squinting your eyes. A massive yawn escaped your lips as the elevator doors slid open. You leaned against the wall for support, stifling another yawn. “Sorry,” you murmured.
“It’s all good. I hope you can get some rest once you’re home,” he said, as his voice comforted your frazzled nerves.
“Thanks, Adam. For everything. You've all been so supportive. Even if it's a bit awkward.”
The elevator dinged, and Adam gestured for you to step out first. He spotted a nearby vending machine and asked, “Did you eat today?”
Not waiting for your answer, he walked over to the whirring machine and purchased a bottle of water and a bag of smart popcorn. You sank onto a bench, grateful for the brief respite. Adam returned, popping open the snack and handing you the bag and the beverage. The two of you continued on your journey to the parking lot.
“Maybe this can give you a bit of energy.”
“Adam, you don't have to make such a fuss. You, Kim, Kevin, and Voight have already done enough. I can't believe she made a time chart so everyone can take turns escorting me to these appointments. She even has poor Dante in on it. That baby has his hands full taking care of himself. Bless his heart.”
“Are you kidding me? You're family. That’s what you do for loved ones,” he assured you, his eyes steady and sincere.
“Is this not awkward for you guys? Hailey’s your friend too,” you grudgingly admitted.
“Yes, but we knew you first. We're not going to abandon years of friendship over drama. We support her just as we do you. J—”
“Adam, please don't. The thought of him is even more stressful. Thanks for the snack. I can finish this in the car. I'm ready to get home to my comfy bed. It's been a long day.”
You caught a flicker of emotion in Adam's eyes, but he quickly masked it. Clearing his throat, he agreed, “You’re right. Let's get you home. Kim’s making me and Mak’s favorite dinner tonight,” he bragged, trying to lighten the mood.
“You bring baby girl next time. I miss her cute wittle face,” you demanded.
“Yes, ma’am.”
The walk to the exit grew quiet and tense. You glanced at Adam out of the corner of your eye.
“You good?”
“Y-yeah. Just thinking about a case,” he lied, his voice unconvincing.
As he opened the door, you started to press about the case. But your words caught in your throat at the sight of a figure standing across the parking lot. Your gaze locked onto the face, shock coursing through you. You spun around, the question about the case forgotten. "Tell me you didn't. What is he doing here?"
Adam scratched the back of his neck, looking apologetic. “Sorry, sis. The moment Hailey found out, she said he deserved to know. It was either she’d tell him, or Kevin and I. Kim was against it all. Voight was neutral.”
“I told you I would tell him on my own time!”
“When would that have been? You've been putting it off for three months now,” Adam argued.
“You don't get it. None of you know the entirety of the situation. I'm not just some home-wrecking whore. If anything, my home was the one that took the damage. You might want to remind Hailey of that, given that she's out here giving an ultimatum based on my life.”
Your gaze fixated on the once-sparkling eyes that had the power to make your heart flutter. Now, those same eyes left your heart in ruins, a painful reminder of what was lost.
“Why are you here? Shouldn't you be somewhere across an ocean or something?”
Jay walked up slowly like he was approaching a wounded animal. He stood a few inches away from you, hands buried in his pockets, looking down. “I just want to talk,” he begged.
“Now you want to have a conversation? Why, Jay? Why are you here? You made your choice.”
“Did I make my choice?”
“Walking—sorry, running—away was a choice. Was it not?”
His eyes locked with yours as he pleaded, “I know you hate me, but please, just one conversation? I took leave as soon as I found out.”
“Are you supposed to get brownie points for that,” you snapped.
“Sweetheart—”
“You don't get to call me that,” you growled.
Adam’s hand rested on your shoulder, the turmoil between two of his dearest friends cutting deep. It reminded him of the trying times he and Kim had gone through. He held out hope that you two would find some resolve.
“You know this exchange needs to happen. Maybe you'll find clarity,” Adam said, looking you in the eyes. “I'm sure he’s come to his senses over the past couple of months. Surely he realizes he could have handled the situation better and that he was being stupid.”
"Thanks, Adam. That's incredibly helpful," Jay retorted with a sarcastic edge.
Ruzek shot him a glare. “As I was saying, this needs to happen. Do me a favor. Let him drive you home. Give him however much time you want to explain himself. Discuss the most important things. Then you can either reconcile or tell him to go to hell.”
Jay threw his hands in the air. Adam cut his eyes to him. “Being my bro doesn't give you a pass. I'm going to call you on your shit. You know that.”
“Reconcile? You must have confused me with Hailey.”
“Damn it, sis.”
“Fine,” you snarled, turning to head toward Jay's truck.
“Thanks! Love you,” Ruzek shouted as you flipped them both off.
Adam shoved your belongings into Jay’s chest. His voice dropped into a menacing, judgemental tone. “Glad to have you back, brother. Try not to leave things as messed up as you did the last time. When are you going to stop screwing her over and flipping her life upside down? You better make this right.”
“I will make it right with everyone involved.”
“No, just her. You've got to choose, and it needs to be her.”
“Who says I hadn't already tried to do that?”
“Yeah, and then you changed your mind.”
“That's not what I meant to do. You know what, Ruzek? I know I screwed up. Can we pause this lecture so I can try and rectify my mistakes?”
Adam paused for emphasis. He needed Jay to listen to the advice he was about to give, to let it sink in truly.
"You messed up, Halstead," Adam said, his voice gruff but laced with concern. "But you gotta fight for her. Show her you mean it this time." Jay clenched his jaw, the truth of Adam's words scraping at his already sore conscience.
“I hear you, brother. Truly. I’ve been stupid far too long, and it’s time I get my life in order. I just–needed to get away. To finish something I’d run from for far too long. I took that time away to figure out how to stop sabotaging the things and people I love most.
Adam nodded his head before laying into him once more, “I swear to God, Jay Halstead, if you mess this up again—if you don't manage to pull your head out of your ass—Kevin and I are going to knock you out cold.”
“It sure is good to be home,” Jay sighed, walking toward the passenger door. He unlocked it and helped you, vertically challenged as you were, into the monstrous truck.
The minute your butt hit the seat, you snatched away from him. He slid into the driver's seat, reaching across to buckle your seatbelt as he had in the past. He jumped back as you slapped his hand away.
“I’ve got it. Just drive.”
Half the drive to your apartment was filled with tense silence. Jay couldn't take it any longer. He cleared his throat, attempting to engage in conversation.
“How have you been? You look as beautiful as ever.”
Your head snapped to the side as if you had been struck. Jay kept his eyes on the road, but he could feel your piercing glare.
“Look, I'm trying not to raise my blood pressure these days. Do me a favor and keep the stupid ass questions to a minimum,” you hissed.
“Jesus, Y/N. No matter what I say, it’s going to upset you. I admit it’s well-deserved, but can't we be civil until we at least get to the house?”
“Civil? Are you trying to gaslight me right now? You don't deserve civility. How about we ride in silence? Nothing I say to you is going to be nice, Jay.”
“Silence it is.”
The sight of your driveway eased the tension in Jay's shoulders. He shut off the engine, the rumble fading into the quiet hum of the neighborhood. Stepping out of the dusty truck, his legs ached from hours on the road, but he glided to your passenger door.
"Hey there," he greeted with a hint of breathlessness in his voice. He started to reach out, but you mumbled a quick "thanks" as you slid out and brushed past him, already digging in your purse for your keys.
Jay lingered on the curb briefly, a flicker of disappointment crossing his features before the familiar puppy-dog eyes returned. You rolled your eyes playfully, the sound masking the growing unease in your stomach. "Alright, alright. I'll hear you out," you conceded, finally finding your keys. "But I swear if you—"
Your playful threat was cut short by the sudden seriousness in Jay's voice. He reached out, his fingers brushing against yours as he placed the keys inside your pants pocket. "I've got it," he murmured, his gaze dropping to the worn metal in his hand. He chewed his lip nervously a stark contrast to his usual confident demeanor.
"Why keep my spare key?" you asked, suspicion evident.
Jay hesitated, his shoulders slumping slightly. When he met your gaze again, his eyes were a storm of hidden emotions. Sadness mingled with something deeper, something you couldn't quite place. "I wasn't planning to leave," he admitted, his voice thick with regret. "Not for good, that is."
You sighed, the energy draining from your body like air from a punctured balloon. The weight of his words settled on you, heavy and unspoken. "Right," you said, your voice flat. "Just unlock the door, Jay. My feet are killing me."
As Jay unlocked the door and pushed it open, you stepped inside and felt a wave of relief wash over you. The familiar comfort of home was opposite the whirlwind of emotions you were feeling. You kicked off your shoes and trudged towards the living room, dropping onto the couch with a heavy sigh. Jay followed, lingering in the doorway as if unsure whether to stand or join you.
You looked up at him, the silence between you charged with unresolved tension. "You can sit, Jay. I won't bite your head off. I'll try not to that is."
He nodded and sat down on the opposite end of the couch, his posture rigid. "Thanks."
For a moment, neither of you spoke, the quiet settling around you like a heavy blanket. Finally, Jay broke the silence. "I know you're angry. You have every right to be. But I need you to know that I never meant for things to get this bad. Before I get into all of that. I have to ask. It’s a stupid question, and I probably already know the answer. Why didn't you respond to any of my letters? Did you read any of them?”
“No.”
“Not even the emails or texts?”
“Nope,” you responded, emphasizing the letter p.
“If you had read them. You would've known that I tried to explain myself even if they were selfish reasons. Part of you may have understood why I did what I did.”
“Well, I didn't, Jay. You left without even saying goodbye. You didn't deserve another moment of my time. Be grateful you're getting it now.” You glanced at him, your expression guarded. "Why did you come back, Jay? Really?"
He took a deep breath, his eyes searching yours. "Because I found out you're pregnant."
Emotions crashed over you all at once. "So that's it? They tell you I'm pregnant and you come running back?"
"It's not just about the baby," he insisted. "I want to be here for you, for us. I realized that running away was a mistake. I thought I was protecting you, but I was just being a coward. I want to make things right, if you'll let me."
"Make things right?" you echoed, a hint of bitterness in your voice. "You think you can just come back and fix everything with a few words? Every time we've faced an obstacle, you've chosen everything over me. Your career, your fleeting moment of weakness for Hailey, even leaving to return to the army. How do I know this time will be different?"
Memories of your tumultuous past resurfaced. You and Jay had started dating years ago, your connection was instant and intense. Things got serious quickly, but Jay's fear of commitment led him to break things off and pursue a relationship with Erin Lindsay. When Erin left for an FBI job, Jay came running back to you, realizing he'd only gotten involved with her as a means to run from commitment as always.
You took him back, and things got serious again. Only that time his career became increasingly dangerous, and your constant fear for his safety caused a rift. He chose his job over you, and the two of you broke up. That time it hadn't hurt as much. You had no right to force him to choose between a career and the woman he loved. You took it as a sign that perhaps you just needed time apart.
After some time, you started to slowly rebuild your relationship, only for Jay to start having feelings for Hailey Upton. Though you know the responsibility lay mostly in your man. You still felt a way about Hailey deciding to pursue him anyway. She knew the two of you were amid reconciliation. Even with that knowledge, she still initiated the kiss and confession of attraction that confused Jay.
You argued over his feelings for the both of you and eventually, you broke up. Jay pursued things with Hailey, and while at first, it was just hooking up, things eventually got serious. Your weakness for him led to the two of you still sleeping together, but when Hailey discovered the two of you were still involved. Suddenly she wanted a committed relationship, Jay chose her. They got married (out of Jay’s perverse sense of loyalty and obligation to the team), and you tried to move on. But Jay's jealousy and selfish attempts to sabotage your relationships made it clear he was still not over you.
He soon realized he made a mistake getting involved with Hailey. You refused to take him back until he was a single man, and after a quick divorce, Jay struggled with wanting to serve a bigger purpose. It was as if he was in the midst of an early midlife crisis. Just as you two had started to rekindle your romance and rebuild, he up and left to rejoin the army.
As you were trying to pick up the broken pieces of your heart, you discovered the pregnancy. Jay found out from your friends and returned home to explain himself, determined to make things right this time. The touch of his fingers gliding across your cheek brought you back to the present. You tilted back from his touch.
“That's what you always do, Jay,” you began, your voice trembling with suppressed emotion. “Run and leave me to deal with the fallout of broken promises and heartbreak. At every turn, you've chosen everyone, everything else, over me. Erin. Your job. Marrying Hailey! Not to mention she's not the first wife, but the second. What is it three times a charm? You’ve already knocked me up. Now all you gotta do is marry me and run. Just like you always do. Hell, you chose the military over me, Jay! So tell me, why? Why should I let you back in and risk you breaking this baby’s heart in the future? Why do you always run, Jay?”
His expression softened, his eyes filled with regret as he listened to your words. He reached out, gently cupping your face in his hands. The pads of his thumbs swiped at the tears rolling down your cheeks.
“Because I was scared, honey,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “Scared of messing things up, of not being good enough for you. But I realize now that running away only made things worse, that I can’t keep hiding from my mistakes. I want to be here for you, for our child. I want to make things right, to be the man you deserve.”
Jay met your gaze, his resolve hardening. "No more running," he vowed silently. The fear of losing you forever was a terrifying prospect, but it paled in comparison to the regret of never trying at all. He had to face his demons and fight for the future he longed for.
More tears fell as you looked into his eyes, searching for any sign of sincerity. And there, amidst the pain and regret, you saw it – a glimmer of hope, a flicker of determination.
The weight of your history hung in the air as you sat together, the past intertwining with the present. Jay reached out, his hand gently covering yours. “I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and I’ve hurt you more than I can ever make up for. But I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere. I want to be a part of your life, and our child’s life, if you’ll let me.”
“I’m tired of being hurt, Jay,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “But if you’re willing to try, if you’re willing to fight for us, then maybe... just maybe, we can find a way to make this work.”
Jay nodded, his grip on your face tightening ever so slightly. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes, sweetheart. I love you, and I’ll spend the rest of my life proving it to you.”
You looked into his eyes, seeing the pang of regret. “It’s not going to be easy, Jay. We have a lot to work through. But I want to believe that you’ve changed, that you’re here for the right reasons.”
“I am,” he said firmly. “I know I’ve chosen wrong in the past, but I’m choosing you now. I’m choosing us.”
“Okay,” you said, your voice steady. “Let’s take it one step at a time.”
Jay nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. “One step at a time.”
As you sat together, the first glimmers of hope began to shine through the darkness. It was a long road ahead, but with determination and love, you knew you could face whatever challenges came your way, together.
But there was something Jay had kept from you, something he had been working on while he was away. As you looked into his eyes, you saw a hint of hesitation, a flicker of uncertainty.
“There’s something else I need to tell you,” he began, his voice hesitant. “While I was deployed, I... I started talking to a therapist.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in surprise, a million questions flooding your mind. “A therapist? Did something happen while you were away? Are you okay,” you rambled as your mind raced with a thousand different scenarios.
Jay took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. “Honey. Honey, relax. I'm not hurt. I realized that I needed help and that I couldn’t keep running from my problems. I needed to confront my past, to understand why I kept making the same mistakes over and over again.”
“And did it help?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
He nodded, a sense of relief washing over him. “Yeah, it did. I learned a lot about myself, about the things that drove me to make those mistakes. And I made a promise to myself – and you – that I would come back a better man, that I would do whatever it takes to make things right. I'm going to continue my journey with therapy. After all the pain I've caused. I think it wouldn't hurt to do couples counseling. Only if that's something you're interested in pursuing.”
Tears welled up in your eyes as you looked at him, a mixture of relief and gratitude flooding your heart. “I'd like that. Thank you,” you whispered, the words barely audible.
Jay reached out, gently wiping away your tears. “I’m sorry for everything I’ve put you through. But I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere. I love you and I’ll do whatever it takes to make things right.”
You leaned into his touch, feeling a sense of peace wash over you. The weight of the past slowly began to lift, replaced by a sense of hope for the future. It wouldn’t be easy, you knew, but with determination and love, you were ready to face whatever challenges came your way, together.
Things grew quiet as the two of you looked longingly at one another. The faintest gasp slipped and you whispered, “Jay, you can't look at me like that.”
His voice low and husky, he responded, “How am I looking at you, sweetheart? I haven't seen or held you in quite some time. Admittedly, I'm the one to blame for that, but there isn't any other way I could look at you right now.”
“Please,” you begged. “Damn it, Jay. Look at me like I disgust you. Just, anything but the way you're staring at me now.”
“You want me to look at you with disgust,” he questioned, already shaking his head no. “That's not possible, honey.”
“Listen to me, Jay Halstead. I'm very pregnant and hormonal right now. I need you to be the bigger person and say that what I'm thinking is a bad idea. You need to be strong for both of us. Go home, Jay. If you don’t, we may give in to temptation. Why did you have to wear that damn uniform?”
He gave you a megawatt smile, slightly nibbling at his lips as if he was embarrassed by your compliment.
“Why, Mr. Halstead, are you blushing,” you questioningly teased.
N-No,” he spluttered.
A brief silence was followed by laughter. Once it ceased, Jay spoke in a soft, warm voice, “To answer your question. This is home, sweetheart. It is in my heart.”
And then, in a moment of weakness, as the pregnancy hormones surged through your body and desire flared between you, you found yourselves giving in to the longing that had been simmering beneath the surface. In each other’s arms, you found solace, comfort, and a renewed sense of hope for the future.
Jay didn't want to ruin things, but if something were to happen. He'd not only need consent and for you to set things in motion. He'd been given a chance to make things right. Jay wouldn't risk it all by making you believe this was the only reason he had come to talk.
“Don’t make me regret this, Jay.”
Before he could answer, you surged onto his lap, kissing him with all the pent-up passion you could muster. You both sighed and moaned as your lips met. Pulling away briefly, you pressed yourself into him. "There's no time for foreplay," you murmured.
Jay groaned as his eyes snapped closed. He grabbed hold of your waist, anchoring you to his lap. Slowly, his eyes peeled open. They were filled with hunger and uncertainty. “Are you sure, honey? I'd understand if you wanted to wait.”
Your hand trailed up his back, sending shivers down his spine as it glided sensuously up his neck and into his hair. Your fingers tangled gently in his light brown locks, tugging playfully. Your other hand encircled his throat in a delicate caress, “That depends. How badly do you miss me riding your thick, veiny, co-.”
Jay's growl silenced you abruptly, shattering his composure.“Ever the little tempting brat. Aren't you, sweet girl?”
In a feverish rush, you tore at each other's clothes. Pushing Jay onto the sofa, you straddled him, reclaiming your dominance. You descended slowly, savoring the sensation. Your pants joined his symphony of groans as you moved your hips. Alternating between rocking and moving in a circular motion. Pleasure washed over you both, leaving Jay breathless.
“F-fuck. Baby, if you squeeze me any tighter, this won’t last long.”
Being the petty brat you are. You allowed your muscles to contract around him again. Jay couldn't help but shake his head from side to side and chuckle. His eyes found yours, turning dark as they simmered with heat. Jay’s hand collided with your soft, ample, flesh. He reveled in the half moan, half whine it pulled from your lips.
His hands pawed at your hips possessively forcing you up to his tip before quickly pulling you back down. You both cried out and you begged him to do it again. Jay repeated the motion as he freed one hand to toy and pinch at your bundle of nerves. With every pinch and circle of his fingers, you climbed higher. The closer you came to falling over the edge the more your walls gripped his flesh.
“Let go for me, sweetheart. Can you do that for me, sweet girl? Hmm? Yes, you can. Can't you, baby? Come for me, sweetheart. Soak me and this damn couch just like I know you can.”
Jay slammed you down one final time locking you into place as he circled your nub. Your face buried into his neck as violent shakes paired with sobs. You ground against his lap riding out the orgasm. Jay held you close as he left kisses against the side of your head. He talked you down from an intense orgasm. “You’re okay, honey. You're okay. You did so good for me.”
He tensed hearing sniffles muffle into the side of his neck. “Baby? Are you okay?”
“Promise you won't leave me again, Jay.”
He lifted your head, his eyes filled with reassurance. “I promise, baby. Never again. Okay?”
You nodded in agreement as he wiped your face. He stole a quick kiss before pulling you back against him to cuddle again.
“Jay,” your question muffled against his neck again.
“Yes, baby-.”
His response caught in his throat as you clamped down on him once more. Your lips trailed from the side of his neck up to his ear. You playfully bit his ear and moaned, “You didn’t get to come.”
“Keep doing that and it won't take long, sweetheart,” he groaned.
The morning sun streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room as you stirred in Jay's embrace. The events of the previous night played like a dream in your mind, a mixture of vulnerability, longing, and desire. You glanced at Jay, still sleeping peacefully beside you, and couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over you.
As you lay there, basking in the afterglow of your shared moment of weakness, you couldn't shake the feeling of hope that filled your heart. Despite the challenges and uncertainties that lay ahead, you knew that you and Jay would face them together, united in love and determination.
With a soft smile, you pressed a gentle kiss to Jay's lips, feeling a surge of warmth and affection between you. The kiss pulled Jay from his slumber. Blinking a few times to clear the sleep from his vision, he rubbed at your small but noticeable bump.
“Oh, I see put me back to sleep so you can nap some more,” you teased. “Fine by me, Halstead.” Jay smirked and continued rubbing in circular motions. Just as you were about to drift off to sleep, there was a loud knock on the door, causing you both to jump.
Jay chuckled, planting a kiss on your forehead before pulling away. "I'll go see who it is."
As he made his way to the door, you heard familiar voices on the other side. "Come on, man. We gotta make sure Jay's still in one piece," Adam's voice rang out.
"Yeah, and see if they've reconciled yet," Kevin chimed in.
With a grin, Jay swung open the door to reveal Adam and Kevin standing on the doorstep, wearing matching grins and teasing expressions.
"Hey there, lovebirds. Just making sure Jay survived the night," Adam quipped.
Jay rolled his eyes, but there was a hint of amusement in his expression. "Yeah, yeah. Thanks for the concern, guys."
Kevin nudged Adam with a smirk. "Did y’all kiss and make up, or do we need to start planning your escape route? Blink twice if you need help bro."
You couldn't help but laugh at their antics, shaking your head in mock exasperation. "We're working on it, okay? Now, if you don't mind, we were kind of in the middle of something."
Adam and Kevin exchanged a knowing look before raising their hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. We'll leave you two lovebirds to it. But just remember, we're always here if you need a referee," Adam teased, earning a playful swat from Jay. Kim told me to say she expects a full run down over lunch tomorrow. She kept saying she wanted all the tea. What does that even mean?”
Kevin shook his head in disappointment. “Come on big dog. I'll have to teach you some new lingo on the way back to the precinct. Jay? Voight said you always have a job where he's concerned. Before you decline. Hailey is joining the FBI,” he finished with a wink toward you.
As they turned to leave, you couldn't help but feel grateful for the friends who always knew how to lighten the mood, even in the most awkward situations. As you snuggled back into Jay's arms, you felt a surge of passion coursing through your veins, igniting a fire that had been smoldering between you since the moment you first met.
With a mischievous glint in his eye, Jay turned to you, his gaze filled with desire. "Well, that was unexpected," he whispered, his voice husky with longing.
You couldn't help but smile at the intensity of his gaze, feeling a rush of heat spreading through your body at the thought of being so close to him again. "Unexpected, but not unwelcome," you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
As Jay leaned in to capture your lips in a searing kiss, you melted into his embrace, the passion between you igniting like wildfire. In that moment, all the doubts and uncertainties melted away, leaving only the burning desire that had brought you back together.
“I’m insatiable, sorry.”
“No need to apologize. That makes two of us, sweetheart,” he responded, brushing curls from your face. His heart warmed that he was able to hold you this way. Jay had missed the feel of your skin and moving the hair from your vision. “You might want to put your bonnet on this time. I don’t want to get in trouble for ruining your hair, love.”
“Smart man, Mr. Halstead,” you giggled, leaving feathery kisses along his jaw.
And as the passion between you intensified, you couldn't help but joke, "Maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones," eliciting a laugh from both Jay and yourself, knowing that the truth was far deeper than a mere hormonal surge.
How y’all feeling about this one? I hope I did Mr. Halstead justice. Be sure to comment and reblog lovelies🩵.

↳ It was just a lovely day, Gun and I were cuddled up on the couch, I was resting in his arms, we were watching a movie.
It was quiet, but comforting, I heard Gun's steady heartbeats as my hrad rested on his chest.
I looked at Gun who's eyes were looking at me, "Hey... My love," I spoke out quietly, he paused for a bit and let out a quiet hum.
"I've been thinking... And... W-well..." I felt my cheeks heat up as I tried to muster up the courage to tell him what's on my mind, Gun didn't pressure me, he waited for me to spit it out.
"I-... I want a baby..." I mumbled, I felt Gun slightly stiffened.
He then chuckled and kissed the top of my forehead, "Do you want one now?" He asked, I looked up at him with a curious look, I was about to ask him what he meant when I felt something hard poking my thigh.
I let out a quiet giggle and sat up on his lap, "Y-yeah..." I said as Gun placed his hands on my hips.
Gun grinned and slowly started to grind his hips onto me, "Let's make baby then."
ʚɞ ┊: Goo Kim
↳ I've been having a bit of baby fever recently, and I've been hinting it to my fiancé, although, he doesn't seem to get the hint.
"Babe! Loook! Don't you think these are cute?!" I asked, showing him a picture of a cute little Nezuko cosplay for a baby.
Goo hummed and nodded, "Yeah! They do!" He replied.
I frowned at his dumb reaction and threw myself on his lap, "What do you think it'll be like?" I asked.
Goo hummed and raised a brow, "To cosplay? I think it'll be pretty cool," he then grinned and groped my ass, "Especially when you're in a maid costume in bed."
I huffed and crossed my arms, "Not that! You pervert!"
Goo's eyes slightly widened and he pouted his lips, I then sighed and fidgeted with my fingers, "I meant... What do you think it'll be like to have a baby?"
Goo paused for a moment and hummed, "Why have a baby when you already have me," he said, an I pouted and huffed, Goo cupped my face and he let out a chuckle.
Goo kissed my lips and smiled, his eyes looked at mine, "It'll be hard, but worth it," he added.
"M-mn... Right," I muttered, Goo let out a laugh and hugged my waist, his chin rested on my chest, "Would you like a baby?" He asked, I squirmed a bit and nodded my head.
He grinned and kissed my lips, "Are you sure you're ready?" He asked, I smiled and cupped his cheeks, "No matter how ready we think we'd be, we both know it'll be more hard when baby's already here."
Goo chuckled and burried his face on my chest, "You right... But I bet we can handle it."
ʚɞ ┊: Samuel Seo
↳ Surprisingly, when I sat Samuel down because I wanted to tell him something, he also had something to say.
We both sat on the dining table, facing each other.
The tension in the air was thick, I then broke the silence and look at Samuel in the eye, "I... I know that you've been busy and stuff..." I exhaled sharply and looked at him, "I want a baby."
Samuel's eyes widen, he paused for a pocket.
"It's funny because... I wanted to ask you to be my wife," Samuel then opened a box with a beautiful diamond ring.
It sparkled under the light, and you felt your eyes swell up with tears.
"Will you, (F/n), make me the luckiest man alive, and accept to be my queen?"
You sniffled and stood up to run to him, "Yes! Yes I will!" You exclaimed, he then kissed you and wrapped his hands around your waist.
"Let's start forming our family, shall we?" He said, his lips formed a smirk. moment and smiled, "Is that what you wanted to ask me...?" He said, he then chuckled and took something out from his
ʚɞ ┊: Jake Kim
↳ I looked for Jake all over the street of big deal but didn't seem to find him anywhere, I asked Jerry, Lineman, I asked everyone, but they also didn't know where Jake was.
After a while, I got a bit tired and went to Jake and I's shared home, I sat myself on the couch and found myself drifting off to sleep.
Not long later, I felt two pairs of arms snake around me and gently lift me up from the couch.
My eyes slowly fluttered open and I saw Jake carrying me to the bedroom.
Tiredly, I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a peck on the cheek.
"My love?" I quietly spoke, Jake hummed and slowly placed me down the bed, he hovered on top of me, scanning me.
"Yes?"
I placed a hand on my belly and looked at him with tires eyes, "I want baby..." I said, his eyes widen, Jake then softly chuckled and pecked me on the lips.
"We can have baby... For now, you need some sleep."
I then hummed and hugged him, Jake smiled and kissed my cheek, he then snuggled up to me and held me close as I fell into deep slumber.
The next morning, he was all teaseful and took me out on a date, that night, we made love, sweet and passionate love.
ʚɞ ┊: Vin Jin
↳ I was sitting on a couch with my lover who's currently writing a new album, we've been together ever since my senior year in highschool up 'till college.
And now, we both graduated and he still hasn't thought about proposing.
Vin Jin landed a decent stay at home job, and he writes some new raps as a hobby, he still fights other gangs.
I was getting bored doing nothing, so I decided to scroll on my phone for entertainment.
As I did, I saw a cute video compilation of little babies wearing cute pajamas.
My heart melted at the sight, I then pasued and wondered what my boyfriend and I's baby would look like.
I then began to realise that my feed had been filled with things related to a child, I looked at my frustrated boyfriend and stood up.
"Honey~..." I cooed, my hands massaged his shoulders, "What is it?" He asked quite coldly, he had a habit of being rude to people when he's angry.
I got closed to his ear and brushed my lips against his skin, "You know... I've been thinking about something."
I felt Vin let out a quiet and shaky sigh, he stayed silent, his hand clenched onto the pencil he held.
I grinned and whispered in his ear and left his small home studio.
I headed to our shared bedroom and laid down on the soft mattress, it didn't take long for my boyfriend to get here.
His face was flushed red and his eyes were fixated on me, I grinned and laid down on my stomach, my legs kicked the air, "What brings you here?" I teased.
He slightly frowned and took off his shirt and threw it on the floor, he got on the bed and kissed my lips hungrily.
Vin pulled away and looked at me in the eyes, "You make mee feel so fucking crazy..." He muttered, I giggled and kissed his lips, "Do I now~..? Then show me how crazy you get."
Vin grinned began to slowly undress me, that day, we made love all night until dawn, I guess telling him that he'd be a great father got him riled up.

First Time | Kim Taehyung
This is a little drabble of the Style series, I wanted to write about this series and this came out lol, I hope you like it. Warnings: Fluff, slight Smut, Actress!Reader, Tae is an idol, but is taking a break from music and entered acting again, mention of "Daytime Star" (Beautiful webtoon). wc: 3.3k
When Tae offered you to go to his house to practice the dialogues for the later chapters, you didn't hesitate to say yes. He was the man you trusted the most, you adored him; he was sweet, funny, charismatic and very polite. He was exactly what any girl would want in her life. You were completely grateful that he was your co-star in the k-drama "Daytime Star," and even more grateful that he allowed you to practice alongside him.
"Have you read the script for episode 13 yet?" muttered Tae with his eyes fixed on the thick stack of sheets labeled 'Daytime Star | Chapter 13'.
"Yes!" you smiled as you stood up, with the script tightly clenched in your hands - quite small compared to Tae's - and peeked over to see his, "There's a scene in the kitchen in this one" you looked at your co-worker, friend at this point, and couldn't help but blush at the thought of what you had to do. You didn't think you were strong enough to see Tae shirtless.
He nodded, almost as if it was nothing new. You wondered internally if he had already done something similar with another girl, though that wasn't your problem. "Looks like it," he gave you a tight-lipped smile, leaving the script on the table and resting his full attention on you as he stretched his arms above his head. "I didn't think they'd have any racy scenes, are you sure you can handle that? From what you've told me, you don't have much experience in this area," Tae's cheeks flushed heavily as he watched you shrink in place, looking down at your feet, "I-I didn't mean to offend you."
"No, you're right, I've actually never made a scene like that before" you sighed defeatedly. You hated not being experienced enough to be true to the role you had been given almost by miracle.
"We could talk to the director and ask him to remove that scene and..." said Tae, too quickly for you to interrupt. But you still took his hand, giving him such a soft, sweet smile that he stopped on his own.
"Tae, I really appreciate your concern, but I also don't want to affect the recording. Besides, it's part of my job to accommodate the character, and if Yura needs to make out with Seunghyeon for the advancement of the plot, then I'll have to do it," you couldn't help the blush that grew from your ears to your neck. In your head it sounded better. Much better.
You shrank in place as you felt his lingering gaze on you, had you overstepped your bounds by saying that, or maybe... he didn't want to make that scene?
That idea completely terrified you. You looked at him with fear in your eyes, and before you could apologize in case he's the one who ultimately doesn't want to expose himself that way, his deep voice interrupted you.
"Then let's practice that scene" he muttered, looking around his apartment, as if he was searching for something. "It all starts after Yura makes Seunghyeon a coffee, right?" lightly squeezing your hand, he walked at a slow pace to his kitchen, "I saw a bit of the webtoon, my kitchen looks a bit like it, so we could take advantage of that."
You were dumbfounded. With your mouth wide open in amazement. You'd kissed Tae before, for the show, of course, but to have him kiss you, take off his shirt for you, and lift you up and press you against his kitchen was... too much.
You shook your head, pushing that idea out of your head. You were a professional, and you would take this situation as such. Yeah, you definitely weren't going to think about how bad this would be for your weak heart.
"Okay, so..." he paused for a moment, quickly reading the dialogues before stopping at you, "let's start with the part where Seunghyeon appears from behind Yura and rests his hand against the kitchen, is that okay with you?" he looked up so he could get your approval. You almost got choked up when you saw his eyes. You just nodded quickly, knowing inside that you wouldn't be able to answer him with words.
You took a breath of air, grabbing one of the cups Tae had drying and positioned it in front of you, without letting go of the handle. A few seconds later you felt the warmth of Tae's body behind your back. You ignored the shiver that ran down your back. Your gaze was fixed on the cup, only straying when Tae's hand appeared next to yours, touching the counter with his fingertips.
You closed your eyes, squeezing them shut as you could feel Tae's breath brush against your ear.
"What about what I said?" he whispered hoarsely, causing your legs to tremble slightly.
You admired his professionalism, and you really needed some of it for the scene.
You turned to look at him, your eyebrows drawn together between your brows, just as the script called for you to do. You couldn't help but think of the difference in height between the two of you. In a firm voice, but without anger or malice, you replied "You're laughing at me, aren't you?".
And for a second you felt your whole body melt at Tae's smitten smile. He was seriously a great actor, you couldn't look at anyone with those eyes so... bright and soft.
You grumbled as you watched his smile grow even bigger at your question. You shook your head and straightened up, turning all your attention back to the cup with coffee -which, right now, was just an empty cup-. "Ugh, you're hopeless, Seunghyeon Kang, you know that?" you muttered with fake anger, and not only because that anger was from a character and not yours, if not because you knew Yura wouldn't say it with malice, not towards the person who loved her the most -after her best friend, of course-.
"What did you call me?" Tae asked mockingly, resting his left hand on the counter, leaving you completely trapped. You were starting to get nervous.
"What?" you turned your whole body towards him, raising your eyebrows, "You want me to call you Seunghyeon Kim instead of...?"
Yeah, you didn't really expect him to kiss you, though it didn't have to surprise you. That kiss was coming out in the scene. You obviously followed the kiss, after all, right now it wasn't you and Taehyung, co-workers, it was Yura and Seunghyeon, a happy acting couple just starting to date.
You remembered how in the script it appeared that you had to take his shirt and wrinkle it. He wasn't wearing a shirt, but a sleeveless white Celine T-shirt. Unable to hold onto his arms, you brought your hands to his chest, crumpling the fabric near his shoulders. A shiver ran down your back for the second time, but this time, it had every right to appear. Taehyung had moaned against your lips as you felt yourself clinging to his shirt. Your rational side mentally pleaded that he'd only done it for the practice and not for... well, the kiss.
You weren't sure how long you must have been kissing, but you were sure it must not have been that long. You distinctly remembered it appearing as 'a chaste kiss' or something like that, your photographic memory starting to fail for every second that Tae kept moving his sides against yours. You were starting to feel bad for how good you felt.
He pulled away just inches, his dark eyes planted on yours. You swallowed saliva as you watched him run his tongue over his lips. "I need you to open your mouth a little" he murmured.
You tensed all over. You were beginning to question whether this was still part of practice or not. "Y-yes" you whispered, gasping as you felt his hands hold you by your thighs and lift you up to lay you on the counter. This did appear in the script.
Even with the embarrassment you felt, you parted your lips just slightly, letting out a sigh as Tae approached you at that very moment. Unlike what you thought, his kisses were much more lazy and soft. The way he had pulled you close to him, you thought he would kiss you until you were breathless. Although this wasn't too bad either.
His right hand went up to linger on the back of your neck, tangling his fingers in your hair at the same time his left hand stopped at your waist and drew little circles on the cream colored vest you were wearing.
With some uncertainty, you brought your hands to the back of his head, drawing him closer to you. Your fingers began to grab small strands and making swirls with them. You sighed as you felt him gasp against your lips as you pulled his hair slightly. This man was going to be the end of you.
"Y/N" he murmured in agitation, resting his forehead against yours. "Can I touch you?"
You choked on your saliva, staring at him with wide eyes. That definitely wasn't in the script. "S-sorry?" your hands began to tremble slightly as you realized what he had said, because he had, in short, said your name.
"Just... you don't need to say yes, it was an impulse and..." As soon as you noticed how he tried to pull away from you, you wrapped your arms around his waist tightly, pulling him to you again.
"No!" you squealed, unsure of what you were doing, "I... I don't have a problem with you doing it" you whispered, unable to look at his face. Suddenly you wanted the earth to swallow you up.
"Oh" Tae smiled brightly, feeling his heart warm with tenderness as he watched you blush and start rambling on about something he hadn't heard. You were talking very softly.
"Honey," he whispered against your forehead, pressing his lips against the skin there. You couldn't see it, but his smitten smile and the slight blush on his cheeks showed he was just as nervous as you were, "if at any point you feel like it's too much, tell me."
You just nodded, closing your eyes tightly as you felt Tae's warm hand rest on your thigh and move up to touch the end of your skirt. His free hand busied itself with gently lifting the vest so he could touch your skin beneath it. He growled softly as he realized you weren't wearing a shirt or anything from the vest.
"You came without a shirt?" he whispered over your shoulder, leaving soft kisses as he moved up your neck and stopped at your ear.
"I usually wear my vests like that, so I don't get so many clothes dirty" you said between stutters. He barely touched you, they were light, loving touches that you only felt because of his warmth and yet he still left you in that state. It was too embarrassing.
He didn't respond, he seemed to be too busy kissing the skin behind your ear. You removed your hand from Tae's hair and dragged it down to his waist, where his shirt was hidden under his pants. With clumsy and too shy movements - because, even though it wasn't your first time, something about this man made you act 1000 times clumsier than you already were - you pulled his shirt off and slipped your hand inside, enjoying how the touch made his whole body tremble. You didn't know you could have that reaction.
You closed your eyes, letting your hand roam all over his back, caressing every bit of skin your hands could reach.
You weren't sure at what point it happened, but, almost magically, your vest had disappeared and now Tae's lips traveled from your collarbone to your waist, leaving wetter and wetter kisses.
You were thankful he didn't remove your bra, you would be too embarrassed if he saw you completely naked.
"Do you want me to take off my shirt?" he whispered just above where your skirt covered your waist, a little below your belly button. His fully dilated dark eyes stared at you, causing a spasm to make you jump up and down on the counter.
"Y-yes, please" you rested your hands on his shoulders, wondering if you should help him.
But you didn't need to. He stood up, reminding you how tall he really was. He quickly took off his polo shirt and threw it somewhere in the kitchen. Your mouth went dry almost immediately. He was too beautiful to be real.
His dark, lust-filled gaze deepened as he noticed how you were unable to take your gaze off his body. He approached you at a slow pace, reaching out his hand and taking a lock of your hair so he could kiss it.
"I like your hair" he whispered, letting the lock fall over your bare shoulder. You could only stand still, contemplating every move he made. "And your eyes" he moved closer to your face, resting his lips for a couple of seconds on each of your eyes, "Your nose" you laughed as he kissed the tip of your nose, crinkling it slightly as you pulled away a little, just enough to look into his face, "and definitely your lips" he whispered, taking your chin between his thumb and forefinger and moving closer to you so he could kiss you.
Unlike the slow, gentle kisses he had given you at the beginning, this time Tae seemed to be completely out of control. His lips were devouring you as if you were going to disappear at that very moment. No one had ever kissed you like that. It was all teeth clashing and tongues tangling, a couple of soft moans came from his lips every now and then, and you couldn't help but want to touch him.
"Tae" you gasped as soon as he pulled away from you. You needed to have his attention for a second before he launched himself on your lips, and his face screamed all over the place that he would.
His lustful gaze faded immediately. Now his dark eyes only reflected concern.
"Did I go too far, do you need me to stop?" he stammered nervously, he tried to turn around to reach for your clothes, but you stopped him with your hand.
"It's not that, in fact, I'm quite enjoying it" you confessed with red cheeks and gaze fixed on his lips. They looked a little more swollen and glossy. "It's just...can I touch you?"
You both stared at each other for a few seconds, until Tae laughed softly and cupped your cheeks, kissing you repeatedly.
"God, you're so cute," he said between kisses, with a big smile. You didn't get the funny, "You can touch anything you want, I'm completely yours" he whispered happily, closing his eyes and resting his nose against yours.
"Anything I want?" you looked at him with your eyes sparkling. That was quite an offer, very tempting.
"Absolutely everything" he nodded, taking your hand and kissing your knuckles, his gaze on yours at all times.
You nodded with pursed lips, "you can go about your business" you whispered, bringing your trembling hands to his chest. You felt too nervous, how were you supposed to act when the man in front of you was so stupidly beautiful?
Tae's kisses were getting messier and messier, as were his caresses all over your body - especially your inner thighs. You tried to do the same with him, but you still felt too shy to do so, so you took to caressing his arms and shoulder blades, burying your nails into his skin when the kisses got too wild. You couldn't even remember how you got here.
His fingers began to play teasingly with the zipper of your skirt, making you groan in frustration. He definitely didn't seem to have any intentions of taking it off, and you seriously wanted, needed, it to be out of the way.
"I need you to hold on to me" he whispered, lightly biting the skin of your collarbone, causing a high pitched moan to leave your lips. "I don't want our first time together to be in my kitchen" he growled, grabbing you by the bottom of your thighs and lifting you up with ease.
"What...?" You were confused and too excited to think hard about what he had just said, "Where are you taking me?"
"To my bed" he smiled, kissing your lips softly, continuing his walk. Luckily, he thought, he didn't need to keep his eyes open to get to his room. He knew the way by heart.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, becoming enraptured at the beautiful face he had. You couldn't contain yourself and brought your fingertips to his cheeks, caressing gently. You wanted this man to be completely yours, far beyond the physical. You wanted to be able to wake up next to him, to laugh next to him, to comfort him when he needed a shoulder to cry on. You wanted him to want you the way you wanted him.
Before you knew it, Tae already had you lying on his dark blue sheets. They were soft and cool, but his scent was permeating them, and you adored that.
He put both arms on either side of your face, his deep gaze still sending shivers down your spine. "We don't have to do this if you don't feel ready yet" he whispered, bringing his hand up to your face and caressing your cheek. You closed your eyes as you felt his touch against your skin. It was so warm and electrifying that you wanted more of him. So much more.
"I'm ready," you murmured, stroking his hair. Standing beneath him, with his arms around your head, the nervousness and shyness no longer seemed to affect you. You brought your hands up to touch the hair at the nape of his neck, fiddling with it as you brought your lips to his chest, where you assumed and hoped his heart was. "I trust you, I know you would never hurt me."
You could see Adam's apple rise and fall at your comment, at the same time as his breathing became increasingly ragged.
"You're going to destroy me one of these days" he joked, leaving a soft kiss on your chest, right in the same place you did with him, "But that's okay, I see no better ending than being destroyed by your hands."
At another time you would have laughed at how corny it sounded, but having him half naked, on top of you, with his hair in disarray and breathing heavily didn't help matters.
"Is it okay if I take your skirt off?" he murmured, running his fingers down your body until he stopped at the zipper of your skirt.
You lifted your hips, barely brushing against his, "Hell, yeah, I was hoping you'd do it sooner" you chuckled, feeling your cheeks heat up.
"Sorry" he smiled broadly. For some reason, you could feel his nervousness, and you loved to think he felt the same way you did.
His fingers caught the zipper of your skirt and greedily pulled it down, pulling them off your legs as soon as he had reached the end. You were still wearing your underwear, but you still felt too exposed... in a good way.
"Are you ready?" he whispered in front of your crotch covered by your panties. Your breath hitched for an instant, but you managed to nod awkwardly. "Good, because I don't think I can contain myself from here on out" he gave you one last mean smile before pulling down your panties and plunging into your intimacy.

hi~ im not sure if you accept individual member requests but i want to request a very fluffy ricky one? maybe he is very clingy to you and his friends sees this and start teasing him... thank you!
full of love - shen ricky
characters: ricky x gn!reader
description: ricky is very in love with you and his members love to tease him about it
genre: fluff fluff fluff and fluff
word count: 977
warnings: i don't think there is any? the most suggestive thing there is here is kissing but that's about it. lmk if there is any i missed :)
a/n: hi anon! thank you for the request, can you guys believe this is my first request for an individual member?! i'm so excited that i got a request to do this <3 also it's totally okay to request individual members! i decided to use the zb1 members as his friends
also idk how long you wanted this to be so i hope you like it 😭😭i'm playing around with my post layout too so lmk if you think it's good!
ricky made it very clear that he was in love with you despite his cold demeanor at first. he seemed like an ice prince when you both first met, you happened to meet each other when gyuvin (who was your close friend), introduced you to the blonde hair boy.
it was love at first sight, he was so gentle with you and always smiled whenever you spoke, so much that you were struggling to form sentences properly after exchanging eye contact together.
after that day, ricky and you began hanging out alone and spending almost all of your time together, and it's safe to say that you two are totally in love. shen quanrui knows how to make your heart beat at the simplest things, but that's what you love about him!
one day, ricky texted you and asked if you wanted to come over that day to the dorms. he claimed that gyuvin was boring him after ranting to ricky about how the new charger he bought was a total rip off as it doesn't even work properly.
you agreed and shot him a text back, saying you'll come over. the dorms weren't too far away from your campus so you could take a short train ride to get there.
as you rang the bell, it opened right away to reveal jiwoong. the members were used to seeing you come over at this point and he just let you in.
"ricky is in the living room!" jiwoong pointed, you thanked him and walked over there to see gyuvin still talking to ricky while rolling his eyes at the $20 charger he just bought.
"can you believe that i actually paid money for this?!" kim gwaja exclaimed, ricky shot him a glare, "yes you've said that five times already."
"hyung don't worry you could just return it." yujin replied nonchantly while on his phone playing candy crush, gyuvin sighed while putting his head on ricky's shoulder.
"it's a shame, i was excited to finally use my phone again." just then ricky felt as if someone's elses presence was there and turned, he sighed in relief seeing you.
"(name)! thank god your here!" ricky said with a smile tugging at his lips.
"hi babe! hi gyuvin, hi yujin!" the boys both waved at you. ricky motioned for you to sit on the living room couches so you could be together.
"i missed you." ricky randomly said, you giggled and turned to face your lovely ricky.
"me too. how has promotions been?"
"it's going great, but honestly i've just been wanting to see you again." ricky then took this chance to pull you into his arms. you were taken aback as ricky barely shares affection with you near his members.
"oh wow-ricky...i've been missing you too. even with my assignments to do, i'm always thinking of you."
it was as if the members weren't there, everyone around you blurred out as your focus was just on ricky. he could say the same as well, just purely admiring you.
"good, i should be the only guy that's on your mind." he mumbled causing your cheeks to heat up. you playfully nudged him while sinking your face into his chest.
"stop it.." you whispered. ricky decided to take another chance and softly kissed you on the lips. your eyes widened as ricky had never done that with the other members nearby.
you reciprocated his love and gently kissed him back, not bothering about what was around you but only what was in front of you.
gyuvin the tapped yujin's leg and motioned for him to look at the two of you.
"look at ricky, i've never seen him like this!" gyuvin mumbled. yujin chuckled, "guess he really is in love."
"his lovely ricky side is being exposed~" gyuvin sang while moving his hands around as a dance.
"eh i think their cute." yujin complimented.
but as you were enjoying this sweet moment, it became interrupted by the sound of gyuvin clearing his throat "uh-sorry to rain on your love parade, you guys are cute and all, but can you guys have this make out session somewhere else?"
you immediately became flustered as you noticed both yujin and gyuvin staring at the two of you.
"hyung, let them enjoy their moment together." yujin said, returning his gaze to the game.
gunwook then joined into the conversation and sat next to gyuvin, "maybe hyung's jealous that he's single!"
gyuvin then slapped his shoulder playfully, "hey! well...yeah maybe." then scratched his neck shyly in defeat.
in the midst of this chaos, ricky tapped your shoulder, focusing your attention back to your boyfriend.
"want to go to my room to get away from all of this?" you looked back to see the rest of the maknae line bickering with each other and then back at ricky.
"yes please." you left a soft kiss on his cheek, it was the best to see ricky's cheeks heat up.
"then let's go." he put his hand out, you giggled and grabbed it, allowing him to take you to his dorm bed as everyone began hollering "ooooooh!" behind you with gyuvin puckering his lips for fun as gunwook hit his shoulder.
"stop it!" ricky shouted.
you loved ricky like this. it's the whole reason why you fell for him in the first place. everything he does or says make your stomach do cartwheels. and that feeling hasn't gone away ever since you met him. but you wouldn't want it to be any other way.
in the end, ricky and you cuddled up together in his bed while catching up. that way you could share some cute moments together without the members nearby.
it's things like this that makes you feel even closer to ricky than the day before. and you hope that you two can spend an eternity together.

The trainee - Hanseok x Reader
I was twirling a pen between my fingers, listening to Myung Hee endless speech. Truth be told, I didn't care what the woman was saying, I certainly have much bigger problems to solve in this company.
— ...and that's why we have to keep an eye on them, we can't let it go quietly, we have to dig deep and...
The door opened abruptly, snapping me back to reality, ready to fight with the asshole who had practically kicked the door in.
But I couldn't do that. Not with him.
— Ms. Choi, Miss Kim —the boy bowed right after saying our last names, seeming to fumble with several papers in his arms —Sorry, I really needed to deliver these documents.
— I think I'd better hire some other interns —Myung Hee stood up, realizing that he wasn't going to be able to continue his conversation. —Have a good time.
I whispered a "you go" as Choi walked out the door.
— You saved me from having to listen to another half hour of bullshit.
— And again things conspire in our favor, —he threw the papers on the table, and as soon as I picked them up to read them, I saw that they were empty.
Hanseok smiled. We were almost boyfriend and girlfriend, living a double life where I was the boss and he was one of the employees. But in reality, we were both the bosses. And owners.
The company was divided 50% to him, and 50% to me. Hanseo, his younger brother, didn't know that yet. It was his father's orders, one of the few requests in the will.
They both saw the advantage in this arrangement, I love to lead, and I do it very well on my own. Hanseok, on the other hand, is having fun while pretending to be a good guy.
— Miss Kim, I've finished all my work for today —he pushed his chair back to stand in front of me, between the table and me —are you going to let me go early?
— Junwoo darling, if I let you go now, I'll have to let the others go too. It's not fair.
He laughed. Totally out of character, he laughed. That laugh was music to my tired ears —from Mrs. Choi's blah blah blah.
— If I ask nicely, will you let me off a few minutes early? —she leaned towards me—
— I'll think about your case.
I played with his blue tie, while Hanseok looked at me with the same look as when he had to feign innocence in front of everyone.
I pulled the tie tight, and our lips came together in a rather indecent kiss. His large, firm hands squeezed my thighs, lifting my skirt and caressing the area. My fingers carefully opened the first buttons of his white dress shirt.
Damn, Hanseok, how can you look so hot dressed like that?
Soon the kiss became fiercer, more anxious. I unzipped his underpants, stroking the slightly damp bulge above his underwear. Realizing that my legs were open, Hanseok slipped his body between them, rubbing our intimacies urgently. He moved my waist in rhythm with his hands. His mouth explored my neck, making me arch my back in pleasure.
I gasped for breath for a moment and let out a moan that I'd been holding back.
— We'd better stop here, Y/n. —she pulled away— They must be missing me downstairs by now, so I'd better go.
—All right, —I smoothed down my skirt— you'd better be careful or our plan will fall apart.
—Yes, I will, miss, —he smiled faintly— we'll finish this later.

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @holy-ships-x-red-lips. Thanks, Danielle!
How many works do you have on AO3? 58 (whoa wtf)
What's your total AO3 word count? 208,594
What fandoms do you write for? Right now, mainly Hart to Hart, Gunpowder Milkshake, and 911, but I've written works for The Conjuring, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Bates Motel, Major Crimes, Star Trek Voyager, Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Hawkeye, The Closer, and The Raven Cycle.
What are your top fics by kudos? Echo (The Conjuring), It's Time That You Won (Star Trek: Voyager), I Heard a Melody (Bates Motel), Waking Moments (Star Trek: Voyager)
Do you respond to comments? I sure try to!
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I usually write angst in the middle and wrap it up with some comfort, so I guess I'll go with my angstiest fic? Destined Not to Be Forever, a Bates Motel fic about Norman attacking Dylan on the night of his and Norma's murder/suicide.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Sparkling Silence of a Dream, hands down, made me the happiest. To give Lucien and Jean back their happy ending was my joy.
Do you get hate on fics? I've been very fortunate to not get any hate. (*runs outside to knock on a tree*)
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, I'm a dirty bird. I write mostly m/f, but want to try my hand at some f/f (looking at you, ScarletxMay)
Do you write crossovers? I wrote one for TDBM and The Conjuring, and there were about 4 people who understood it, but it was so fun.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? I consider Sparkling Silence to be co-written by @escapewithstories. We conceptualized that fic together, during the worst of the pandemic, and it's our baby. @madelineusherspearls and I are looking to co-write a Star Wars fic together soon!
What's your all time favorite ship? Oh gosh that's such a tough question. I think I'd have to go with Lucien x Jean from TDBM. I always come back to them in times of trouble.
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I don't want to be negative, so I won't say I won't ever finish any of my WIPs that I *want* to finish!
What are your writing strengths? I write some mean dialogue, and I'm pretty good at getting to know a character and their voice.
What are your writing weaknesses? Sometimes I find myself skipping through something important spacially to get to the root of what I want to do or say, and it throws off the scene.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? If you're writing extended dialogue in another language, I find it less messy to mention that the character is using another language, but write it in whatever language you're using for the rest of the fic. It's less jarring, and using Google translate isn't always reliable/accurate.
First fandom you wrote for? As a kid, I wrote Kim Possible fic before I knew what fic was. It was hilarious.
Favorite fic you've written? Sparkling Silence, again.
Tagging @andallthatmishigas @escapewithstories @madelineusherspearls @lavoixhumaine @whatsabriard

KinnPorsche Rewatch 2023
Reminder: as we go into heavier topics in KP (dub-con/non-con, toxic behaviors, etc.), I will not be doing deep dives. I’m planning on taking this just below surface value as these are literally thoughts I have in the moment as I’m watching. Thank you.
Side Story Random Thoughts
Tankhun is so dramatic here. Fake crying and the whole time giving side eye to P like "he's really buying this?"
Why is this hospital so fancy though? K is sleeping in a queen size bed for goodness sake.
Ah yes, Vegas. Here to stir shit up.
I'm on vacation he says. I'm gonna sleep alone he says. Liar. Scared of fake ghosts (actually probably not fake, most hospitals are haunted for obvious reasons).
K, I think it might be slightly obvious that P is going to stay by your side. Come on now. But thanks for giving him a phone so he can talk to Chay at least. Damn.
Sweet little ending with a cuddle ❤
Episode 7 Random Thoughts
Iconic Pete opening.
The lighting in this episode is so pretty.
Porsche and Big really just focus on a guy with an earbud... Meanwhile, another guy just strolls up with a damn grenade. Honestly.
I love how all the people there are causing a ruckus because there's a grenade up for grabs but no one fucking leaves?? They just sit there and watch??? What are y'all doing?
I dunno, beating someone into a confession probably would be difficult if the person is particularly tight lipped. But Vegas walking over with a torture case? Idk, I think I'd rather talk than be tortured...
The look that Pete gives Vegas though. Somewhat intrigued, it seems.
Did he pull out a tooth?? What is that?
Gun always trying to out wit and out maneuver his brother. He has one hell of a complex... And gave his sons a complex. And abused them. And he has too many cravats.
The red velvet shirt though.
I actually really enjoy this scene where we see how differently the minor family operates. People greeting with respect as they walk by, but they're more relaxed than the main family's people are.
Vegas walking in and out of the shadows, the lighting in general.. It's... Telling in a way. Of what kind of character Vegas puts forth for his people but also of the darkness dwelling within.
I feel like for how many people most likely live in that complex, they should have like three of those long tables set up.
Typical teenage boy with a messy room but it's just the house that's messy.
Why is K still on a saline drip at home? How long has it been since he got shot?
"But Daddy I love him!!" Honestly though, P makes K such a better person overall. Not just for their employees, but for himself. K doesn't necessarily need to be cruel to be an effective leader. I still hold that K was the worst thing to happen to P though, it turned him into someone that the old P would have hated.
Back to the single seat on the Panigale.
Vegas is more like a dad to Macau than Gun is.
Chay is all embarrassed about his room, like no my crush cannot go in there because he'll see my little shrine.
I love how easy going Kim seems to be around Chay. Compared to how we know he can be. Jeff did such a good job with him.
And then the closeup where we see the friendly demeanor drop and he goes straight back into nosy mode and walls go back up.
And then when Chay comes back, those walls come down a bit again and Kim's like damn, this boy is getting to me. I must get him to admit his crush.
It's because he's jealous, P. Always because he's jealous. K is so bad at communication and trusting P 🥴 get your shit together.
That shit eating smirk on Vegas's face. So good at sowing little seeds of distrust.
My boy Tay coming in with the best advice. And the best style.
How long has that body been there though?
Pete's out here doing the most.
I actually love that K comes to see P and gives him the lucky gun to hold onto. Nice symbolism.
"Let me show you your product." Guns ablaze. God this scene is well done. Porsche and Vegas work together surprisingly well for gun fights.
I think I've played too much Assassin's Creed, I always want to hear requiescat in pace vs reposa in pace.
The party is so well lit. All these lighting differences are so pretty.
Then Vegas trying to get Porsche to stay on with him, telling him what he thinks P wants to hear bc he's a stalker ass.
Porsche is visibly uncomfortable around Vegas in the bathroom scene. Then during the kiss pushes him away... Because he only loves Kinn.
Then Porsche hits Kinn where it hurts: I know about your ex, but only vaguely.
So hurtful, that slap was well deserved.
"I shouldn't have loved a shitty guy like you." He was trying to hit K where it hurt. And finally speaking the words that K needed to hear.
I do like how P takes back control during the NC scene. Doing sexy time on his own terms this time.
The chemistry is out of fucking control.
Consistently, the best NC scene of the series in this episode, in my humble opinion. Plus growing (my faves) KimChay's relationship :')
Episode 8 next!

←Part One, Strangers 2 Lovers
Lovers 2 Strangers
Warning: mature language; mentions of domestic violence; weapon usage
Genre: angst, fluff
Characters: kang seulgi; sasaki himari (original character portrayed by hirai momo)
Summary: What happens when two lovers bump into each other years later? Will their love resurface? Or will they be strangers to each other?
Author's note: Sasaki Himari is a character my sister and best friend created for different motives, however I have decided to use her with the intention to portray the reader being involved in the story for my fanfics simply because I adore the character and want to give her some exposure. You may replace her name with yours if it is of your preference, I just have a hard time continuously writing [Y/N] for an entire fanfic and figured this would be a easier way to do a Character x Reader fanfic.
Caution: Please keep in mind that I do not mean any hate towards any idol that might be mentioned in this fanfic and every idol's personality will be adapted and changed accordingly to fit the storyline. I love all the girls mentioned and would never speak ill of anyone.

Now without further adue, let's get started...
❝Hana!❞ she cried out rushing behind the little infant, who ran around the house on tiny wobbly legs. ❝Be careful!❞ she'd cry out every time her heart dropped to her stomach as she watched the infant lose balance.
Sighing, Sasaki plopped down on the couch, absolutely exhausted, as the infant rested upstairs finally out for her afternoon nap. When Min and Kim had mentioned several times how having a child was no joke, she didn't fully take them seriously. And it wasn't that she regretted having Hana, but she certainly regretted not having their words taken into consideration to prepare herself.
Cherry 🍒 chat opened
Kyong, Ji-eun, Su-jin, Ae-ra and Mari
Ae-ra: [attachment photo]
Su-jin: Congrats on the pregnancy!
Ji-eun: Oh my, congrats!
Mari: Congratulations! And good luck.
Ji-eun: Oh! This reminds me! How's life going, unnie?
Mari: ... -_-
Kyong: Congrats!

Tossing her phone aside, Min let out a happy sigh as her head rested against her husband's chest. Their little ones both in school. Miyoung had just started first grade and DaeSeong was now in forth grade.
❝Jagi?❞ her voice soft, sleepy even as she tilted her head just enough to look at him and he looked down to let her continue, ❝I've been thinking... We have an extra guest room that's never been used.. what if I invite Mari to spend a few days here? Me and the girls haven't seen her since we left Seul. All of us can easily meet up since we don't live too far away but her.❞
❝Of course, honey. Just let me know when she's coming over. I know you miss her with her being all the way over in Japan.❞ he said offering her a tender smile before pressing a gentle kiss upon her head. Of course that she quickly stretched over to grab the phone she previously tossed. She dialed Himari's number and waited. Ringing once, twice...
❝GAH! No, no, no!❞ she rushed to answer the phone before the loud noise woke her infant from the nap, ❝I would have murdered you if Hana had woken up.❞ It was the first thing she said the second she had brought the phone up to her ear.
❝Geez, is that how you great your bestie?❞ she heard from the other line, followed by her best friend's laughter.
❝Is everything alright?❞ Sasaki asked now calmer, a sigh of relief escaping her lips as she checked the little screen on the baby monitor and Hana seemed unbothered.
❝Yes, yes! Everything's fine. Anyways, I'll go straight to the point. I've been thinking and I've talked to Changbin about it and he's on board with it so, what are your plans for the next few months?❞ Ji-eun spoke, a little too fast, which tented to happen when she was excited, earning herself a giggle from Himari.
❝Um.. I'm on family leave for indefinite time? Why?❞ a brow wrinkled as she awaited an answer. To say that she was confused would most definitely be an understatement, the tall female was beyond lost.
❝Why don't you and Hana come stay over for a few weeks? We can go out for lunch for the rest of the girls! And you can explore South Korea with Hana this time!❞ she squealed, nearly deafening the poor brunette on the other side of the call.
Himari paused. Going back to Korea could lead to a whole black hole of possibilities. Would she be okay if she accidentally ran into Seulgi? Would she breakdown? What if Seulgi had completely changed? But she missed them, all the cherry girls and the Red Velvet girls. But she'd never dare to meet with any of Red Velvet members.
❝Hello? Mari? You there? Hello?❞
❝Shit, um sorry... Um, sure. I would love to.❞ She said and Min let out a deafening squeak.
❝I'll see you tomorrow!❞ she exclaimed making Sasaki's eyes to open as wide as ever. Tomorrow!? How was she supposed to pack for her and Hana plus get tickets in such short notice!? To say that she panicked was.. being nice. The girl tossed the phone on the couch leaving Ji-eun talking to herself as she rushed to her computer to buy tickets.
Once purchased, Himari rushed into her room as quietly yet quickly as she could pulling out her suitcase from the walk-in closet and throwing it open on the bed before she started going through her clothes. Packing quite a few outfits for the following weeks she'd be away but before she could finish, the loud, deafening cries of the lungful infant were made heard down the hall and she threw whatever she was holding to the bed for further analysis as she went into Hana's yellow themed nursery.
❝Shhh, it's okay, mama's here.❞ she'd sooth as she scooped the child into her arms, pressing a kiss to her forehead as she walked to the armchair in the corner, sitting down and allowing the infant to latch herself to her breast. The phonecall never once crossed her mind again and if Ji-eun was awaiting her return, she could sit there all day. ❝Mama's taking you to see a new place, isn't that exciting?❞ she spoke ever so softly, a warm smile on her lips as her eyes met Hana's tiny orbs that lovingly stared up at her as she ate, all you could hear from her were little content coos muffled by the chest of her mother. Her little fingers wrapped around Sasaki's index finger.
Burping her as Hana finally released her food source, Sasaki sat her in the rather big playground on an opposite corner of the room for Hana to play while she reached for a second suitcase to pack Hana's clothes, diapers, wipes, hygiene products such as baby oil, shampoo and body wash to a baby toothbrush and toothpaste to brush the very few teeth she had, a few teething toys and little blankets. Of course she then prepared her daughter's bag with diapers, wipes and creams for her to bring with her into the plane as well as a backpack with her wallet, iPad and her Huawei phone.
Of course she had bought tickets for tomorrow at 5am, out of pure luck they were the only ones available. So now it was past midnight and she couldn't seem to put Hana to sleep so she could get some rest. But she had to be up as early as three in the morning to be at the airport by four.
Finally having set Hana in her crib out cold, she flopped onto the queen sized bed of her bedroom, falling asleep as fast as a snap of a finger. She was exhausted so it wasn't hard.
With the tiny asleep infant attached to her chest by the baby carrier, Himari had checked in and the suitcases had been taken from her with her respective identification on the handles and was now in line to board the plane. In a way, it came in handy it took her so long to put Hana down because now the little girl slept peacefully as her head rested on Sasaki's chest but on the downside, she was exhausted, an hour and a half of sleep barely did her any difference than having pulled an all nighter.
Upon landing, she went to collect her suitcases, a crying infant attached to her. The flight was two and a half hours long and Hana had awoken on the last half hour left. She had fed her as well as changed her, but Hana was in discomfort due to the new teeth pushing through the gums.
❝Shhh, it's okay, mama knows, sweet girl.❞ She'd say in an attempt to sooth her as she looked for the girls. When her eyes saw them, a bright smile plastered across her face, ❝You're gonna meet some of mommy's bestest friends today.❞
❝Mari!❞Ae-ra and Ji-eun exclaimed running towards her and she couldn't help but to chuckle at the excitement written all over the two girls' faces. The recently completed one years old infant seemed to hush, her tine hands grasping her mother's shirt in her fists.
❝Hi! I've missed you, guys!❞ Sasaki said with a smile as Kyong and Su-jin approached them. Of course that followed by them came a stranger she'd ever only seen from pictures. Changbin, Ji-eun's husband and two little angels holding each of his hands, ❝Is that your husband?❞ she playfully asked, ❝Pleasure to finally meet you, I've heard plenty about you.❞ she said now turned to him, setting down one of her suitcases to hold out her hand.
He chuckled, taking her hand, ❝Same goes around, my wife blabs alot about how you're the only one who doesn't live in Korea and she hasn't seen in years. It is nice to finally meet you.❞
As Ally took the children's hands, he insisted on helping Mari with the suitcases since she already carried an infant, a backpack and her daughter's bag, ❝It's not needed, seriou-❞ before she could even finish, he had already taken them and walked away making Min and the kids chuckle before she gestured with her head for you to follow them.
Ally strapped the kids to their respective carseats and hopped into the passenger's seat of the seven seat car next to the driver's seat. Sasaki strapped Hana to the little baby carseat they had installed for her. It was Miyoung's old carseat.
❝You really thought of everything, huh?❞ Sasaki chuckled, hopping into the seat next to her daughter's carseat.
❝Of course, it was my idea.❞ she laughed, looking back over her shoulder and once everyone was buckled up, her husband took off. Kyong, Su-jin and Ae-ra had already hopped into their cars and driven off to meet with them at Ally's house.
Pulling into their driveway, Mari found herself dumbfounded. And she thought her house was large.
❝We got one of our kids' old crib in your room so Hana can have her sleep, as well as the baby monitor. Don't ask, okay? We had been trying to gain the courage to give it to people but we just couldn't part with our kids'things.❞ she said as Himari hopped off the car and picked Hana into her arms. She grabbed her backpack and Hana's bag before going to get her suitcases only for Changbin to have taken them already.
❝Seriously, you need to tell your husband to chill. I'm not fragile.❞ Himari stated, half joking half honest, she didn't want to be a bother to anyone. He was already nice enough to have agreed to Ji-eun inviting Mari over for a couple weeks.
❝He's always like that. So get ready. He barely lets me do anything around the house as if I don't kick asses for a living.❞ she said with a chuckle, she had grown used to it and honestly it didn't mind her as much as it used to.
They all sat at the dining table. And by all I mean the Cherry girls along with their families while Hana sat in the highchair next to her mother's seat.
❝I'm so glad to see you less gloomy. Deciding to have a kid of your own to raise by yourself did you some good.❞ Su-jin teased, stuffing her mouth with the last bit of food in her plate.
❝Yeah, I agree. Don't you think it is time you find someone tho?❞ Kyong made the mistake of speaking without thinking and Sasaki's smile vanished without a trace and she looked down at her plate, picking at the food.
❝Solar!❞ Min scolded, she knew better than to mention a touchy subject like live.
❝What!? She can't possibly be hang on Seulgi unnie still! It's been almost four years...❞ she didn't see what she had said wrong. But that earned her a 'just shut up' look from both Ji-eun and her husband. ❝Quit looking at me like that! I'm speaking fac-❞
❝Ssss-sss-Seulgi.❞ Himari's head jolted up with widened eyes as she blankly stared at her daughter as everyone fell silent. All the girls had widened eyes and shock written all over their faces.
❝Mama.. mshbf.. Seulgi!❞ the infant sloppily clapped her hands with little giggles and babbles. No one dared to open their mouth. ❝Seulgi! Mama!❞ she babbled again.
❝I- O-out of every word... H-Her name had to be your second word?❞ Himari stuttered out. She was proud her daughter had managed to speak another word but her heart ached at the sound of her name. Pressing a kiss to her daughter's forehead, she excused herself ❝Su-jin, could you keep an eye on her for a minute? ...Thank you, please excuse me.❞ she exited the dining room to take a deep breath. 'God damn you, Kyong... Why did you have to bring her up..?❞
Washing her face on the bathroom sink, Sasaki let out another frustrated yet hurt sigh. Her face was clean, however she couldn't hide the red, puffy eyes of hers from the tears she silently let go of. That's when someone knocked on the door.
❝Aunt Mari..?❞ the voice was soft, too soft to belong to an adult which made her frown and slowly open the door. The six year old ran to her, wrapping her arms around both legs of the adult.
❝Miyoung?❞ it came out as a question, confused with the situation.
❝No sad.❞ the little girl said looking up at her and Mari couldn't help but to let out a chuckle. Such a precious kid.
❝Alright, alright. No sad.❞ she chuckled taking Miyoung's hand as the two returned to the dining room. ❝Where's Hana?❞
❝Su-jin took her to change her diaper.❞ Ae-ra- answered with a soft smile and Sasaki nodded. Ji-eun and Changbin started gathering the plates and glasses and taking them to the kitchen loading them into the dishwasher. Sasaki nodded and went to find both her friend and her daughter.
❝There you are. I told you mommy would be quick, see?❞ the girl said in a baby voice, it was weird to see Su-jin act like that but Sasaki shook it off, letting out a soft chuckle as Su-jin handed Hana to her.
Time seemed to fly by as the five of them, along with their families talked and played games in the Mom's living room and now, they were bidding their goodbyes at one another. Before they knew it the sun had set, the kids were all asleep in their respective rooms and so was Ji-eun's husband out cold in their bed as the two girls laughed and talked outside, sitting on the porch' steps.
❝We should probably get some sleep.❞ Sasaki said with a chuckle as she looked at the watch embracing her wrist. They'd been sitting there for an hour now and it was getting late.
❝Oh shit. Right.❞ the two then went inside and wished each other a goodnight before they went their separate ways.
RIIIING RIIIING RIIIING
Groaning, Sasaki turned the alarm off before Hana woke up to it but it was too late as the infant started crying. Slipping her feet into the slippers by the bed and picking her daughter into her arms, ❝Shhh. It's alright, mommy's right here.❞ she rocked her gently in her arms as her cries softened until she started cooking up at her mother, ❝Only you to make mama happy this early in the morning.❞ Sasaki chuckled, pressing a kiss to her daughter's forehead before feeding her. Once fed, burped and changed, Himari sat her in the crib with a teething toy to go get ready for the day.
❝Good morning.❞ she greeted Changbin with a smile, Hana attached to her hip, ❝Is Ji-eun still asleep?❞ she asked him, who nodded his head making her shake her head. Still the same sleepyhead. ❝I'm gonna take Hana for a walk to let her see around. Maybe go to a park. Just in case she wakes up and asks.❞
He nodded, ❝Alright, I'll let her know. Do you want a stroller for Hana? I'm sure my wife still has Miyoung's somewhere in the basement.❞
❝Really? That would actually be great, she's quite heavy after a while. Gamsahapnida.❞ Sasaki chuckled.
❝Hold on then, I will be right back.❞ and with that said, he left only to return a few minutes later with a dark grey stroller, ❝Here you go, I knew she hadn't thrown it away.❞ he said as he mounted the stroller for her.
❝Oh- You didn't have to, thank you.❞ Sasaki said with a smile, setting Hana down on the stroller and securely strapping her. ❝Have you ever thought about why she might be keeping this stuff?❞
❝No? Because she's emotionally attached?❞ his brow wrinkled at the question.
❝Perhaps she wants another child?❞ she teased him and his eyes went wide.
❝Why? As she said anything? Has she told you that?❞ he panicked making her start laughing.
❝Relax, I'm just joking. She never mentioned anything... Or did she?❞ and the relieved sigh he was about to release turned into widening eyes yet again, ❝Anyways, bye! Thank you for the stroller and all the help!❞ and with that said she walked outside, leaving him to wonder what she could possibly mean with that.
Pushing the stroller around, Sasaki stopped by a park she was walking by. Since there didn't seem to be too many children, she walked over to a bench and unstrapped Hana from the car letting her wobbly run off to play around, ❝Be careful!❞ she cried out with her heart in her hands, the only kids there were on the other side of the park since they were much older than her infant. Sitting at the bench, she watched a couple of twins wobbly approach Hana who came running back to her mother, ❝It's okay, Hana. They want to play with you.❞ they seemed to be around her age.
That's when someone sat besides Sasaki, looking through what looked like a baby bag and Himari's eyes went wide and she quickly turned to watch Hana giggling and playing around with the twins.
❝Mari!?❞ the oh so familiar voice called out in shock. It had been too long since that day. Too much had happened, ❝I-Is that really you..?❞ her voice broke as Himari couldn't help herself but to look into those brown eyes. She hadn't changed a thing.
❝Seulgi...❞
❝W-When did you get back..? W-Why didn't you tell me..?❞ she asked, her voice low as she bit back the tears that flooded her vision.
❝Yesterday... Y-You broke up with me remember..?❞
Two years ago
Her phone dinged, indicating a text had been received and a smile quickly formed across the brunette's lips only to be replaced by a hurt expression as tears swarmed her eyes.
[From Bear🐻] I can't do this anymore... I'm sorry...
[From Bear🐻] I love you.
[From Bear🐻] But I can't live like this...
Too hurt, Sasaki threw her phone across the room with a scream. It hurt too much. For the next few weeks, she wouldn't even bother to eat. She just laid there, sulking into her bed.
And it took her a long time to pull herself together and go back to work, and it took her boss a lot more work to help her get through the heartbreak.
❝I- Mari... You know neither of us could keep living like that...❞
❝Do you know how long it took me to get back from that..? It took me months. I didn't want to do anything. I kept thinking "what if she hates me now?" "Did she really mean those three words?" "When did it go wrong? When did I do something wrong?" "It's my fault" "You deserve it". But I never got to know... Because all you said was you loved me and yet you left me.❞ her voice was low, hoarse from crying. ❝But I'm the stupid one here... because even after two years I look at you the same way I did when we were together. Because no matter how long it has been. You're still the one holding my heart.❞
Seulgi found herself speechless, unaware of what to say. She had never gotten over her herself, but she had to keep pushing through regardless.
Sasaki wiped her tears as Hana ran up to her holding the twins hands, all of them giggling.
❝Mama! Mama! Fwiends!❞ she babbled out. Seulgi's eyes went wide.
❝She- She looks just like you... I-❞ Seulgi stuttered out wiping her own tears.
❝Mama! Hana fwiend!❞ the little girl said with the brightest of smiles.
You have your mother's smile... Sasaki thought to herself.
❝We should get goi-❞
❝NO! Fwiends!❞ Hana yelled, throwing a tantrum before running off and the twins following her. Both Seulgi and Mari stood there with widened eyes.
❝I-❞ Hana had never thrown a tantrum before. She was always well behaved and always so shy and quiet. It had Sasaki beyond shock.
❝Mari...❞ Seulgi's voice called softly as Himari sat back down with the shock, ❝Who is he..?❞
❝None of your business. But fyi, like I told you. You're the one who holds my heart. I had Hana by myself.❞ she said, looking at her right in the eyes before looking away and down at her lap, ❝But had kids of your own, I hope you're happy.. I really do.❞
❝I'm not-❞
She started, but Mari was already walking over to scoop Hana up who began to kick and throw tantrums in her mother's arms.
❝Hana! Stop! I'm gonna drop you!❞ she cried out carrying her to the stroller.
❝No! Mama! Seulgi! Fwiends!❞ she cried kicking and hitting her mother and her eyes went wide.
❝Did she just-❞ Seulgi started, not knowing what to think of it.
❝It is not what you think.. Solar mentioned you yesterday at lunch and she started saying your name... Not that you would care anyways.❞ she coldly said, her voice sounded so hurt as she strapped her daughter in the stroller who threw a tantrum.
❝Seulgi! Fwiends!❞ the infant cried pointing at Seulgi herself who had the twins next to her now.
❝H-How-❞ Sasaki stuttered out frozen in place. This couldn't be happening. Seulgi seemed just as shocked sitting there blinking at the infant who freed herself and attached herself to the unknown woman. Unknown to her, that is.
❝Hana, Ally's waiting for us.❞ she tried but the kid didn't seem to budge from Seulgi's leg.
❝Sweetie.. you have to go with your mama...❞ Seulgi tried but the infant took hold of one of Seulgi's fingers trying to pull her up to go with them.
Why did you have to be such a cute bear..? Himari sighed watching as Hana attempted to drag her and Seulgi seemed to compell to her wishes.
❝You- You still think I'm cute..?❞ Seulgi had frozen in her tracks and her words made Sasaki freeze too. Had she thought out loud? Had those words truly left her mouth? How could she be so stupid? ❝I think we should talk... Straighten things out between us...❞
Yeah, straighten isn't the best choice of words... We both know there's nothing straight about neither of us... Himari's eyes widened watching as a pink shade coated Seulgi's cheeks. Cute...
She would go back to her in a heartbeat... And everything would be different. She'd stay. As long as she got to keep her, she'd stay. She'd find another job. But she isn't a homewrecker, she couldn't. She wouldn't even dare to try to get her back. She has a family now, and she? She wasn't part of it. And she will never be.
❝There's nothing I have to say to you. Just- Be happy for me, will you?❞ she collected Hana, setting her on her hip and this time she didn't try to get away, she blinked up at her mother with teary eyes.
❝S-Seulgi bad? Fwiends bad?❞ the little kid babbled trying to understand why her mother seemed to want to walk away from them.
❝No, honey. Your friends aren't bad... They have a wonderful mama. Ally is waiting for us, that's all. The infant nodded then pointing at the stroller Mari pushed with her free hand. She sighed and sat her down, securing her daughter with the straps of the stroller.
I'm sorry Seulgi-ah... I love you... But I can't have you.
With tearstained cheeks, the two girls got back to Min's place and Ji-eun came rushing to the front door with a smile that instantly disappeared watch both the infant and her mother's tearstained cheeks.
❝Wha-What happened!?❞ she exclaimed out of concern. What could have possibly made her cry- No way... She couldn't have.. no, that's impossible. What are the chances..? Ji-eun thought to herself before rushing them into the living room where Changbin sat. ❝Jagi, could you please watch over Hana for a few?❞ once he agreed, she took Sasaki's wrist and dragged her towards her room upstairs making her stumbled all the way there.
❝Yah! Are you out of your mind!?❞ she grumbled freeing herself from Min's hold, rubbing her wrist, ❝Aish...❞
❝You saw her, didn't you?❞ she went straight to the point. Catching her off guard with that question, Sasaki lost balance, stumbling back as she fell into Ji-eun's bed. ❝Oh my God! You did! What happened!? Are those happy or sad tears!?❞
❝... Do I look happy to you? Tsk. What kind of question is that? It's been too long.❞
❝So? You love her, don't you?❞ Ji-eun asked with a tilted head, unsure of what seemed to be the problem.
❝So? It doesn't change anything. She broke up with me. To start a family. With someone else.❞ her hands clutched into fists as she clenched her jaw. As much as she wanted to be happy for her, her heart still ached. She was jealous. She wanted to marry her back then.
Three years ago, South Korea
❝Promise?❞
❝Promise.❞
Her fingers brushed through the beautiful brunette locks of her girlfriend's. She hadn't felt this at peace since her childhood when money wouldn't even cross her mind.
"I will marry you someday." Mari thought to herself as she looked down, gazing into her girlfriend's brown orbs. Everything about her was just so perfect.
❝Jagi? What are you thinking about?❞ she asked poking her nose as she stared up at her, her head on Sasaki's legs.
❝Hm? Oh, nothing. Just of how beautiful my girl is.❞ she said with a tender smile and Seulgi's cheeks were coated by a bright shade of pink.
She couldn't think of Seulgi laying with someone else without it making her want to punch them. But she would never do that to her. Seulgi didn't deserve that, no matter how much it had broken her.
Meanwhile at Kang's household, Seulgi had gotten home with the twins, tearstained cheeks on the three of them. The second her husband appeared, she quickly tried to wipe their tears as well as their own. But it was too late and he had seen them already, clutching his hands into balls.
❝Su-ryeon, Seok-hun.. go play.❞ his voice hoarse with anger as he pointed at the door of their playroom and the two infants nodded before wobbly running into the room. With the baby monitor on, he closed the door and stormed towards Seulgi who immediately flinched, closing her eyes ready for the impact.
He took a tight grip around her wrist before dragging her upstairs to their shared bedroom, ❝O-Ow! Y-You're hurting me!❞ and he smirked at that.
❝WHAT. DID. YOU. DO. TO. THEM!?❞ he yelled at her, slapping her between every word and tears quickly swarmed her eyes yet again.
❝I-I didn't d-do anything! I-I swear! I-I took them t-to the park and they met a li-little girl but the other mother had to lea-eave.❞ she cried out, trying to explain herself only to get a punch to her stomach. She fell onto the floor coughing up blood as she held onto her stomach.
❝Shut up! I should have taken them from you! You. Are. An. Awful. Mother.❞ he spit it out at her, kicking her yet again, he knew what those words did to her and it made him smirk.
She was silent, a few whimpers accidentally escaping her as he kicked her again before yanking her up from the floor, ❝Do what you do best and stay. in. your. place.❞ he retorted, throwing her to the wall and a loud whimper escaped her lips before she passed out, falling unconscious to the floor.
He smirked , picking her up and laying her on the bed before going back downstairs and into the playroom.
❝Appa!❞ the little boy and girl stood up excitedly, oh he was so good at hiding his wrongdoings. ❝Mama?❞ Su-ryeon asked looking up at him with a tilted head.
❝Don't worry, mama needed to get some rest, okay? Shhh.❞ he softly spoke, ❝What happened today? Why were you crying?❞
❝Fwiend had to weave...❞ they pouted looking down at the colourful floor.
❝Oh.. did mama tell you to say that?❞ he asked with his jaw clenched and both the little boy and girl shook their head no.
❝No, mama sad too.❞ Seok-hun tried explaining and the father nodded.
❝You don't know that... She could have decided to be a mother the same way you did.❞ Ji-eun suggested.
❝I saw the wedding ring on her finger, Ji-eun. I'm not stupid. Do you see anything like that in my hands?❞ she rose both her hands to show her before sighing and flopping down on the bed facing the ceiling making Ji-eun sit next to her with a sigh.
❝If that's the case... You need to let her go, Mari...❞
❝Do you think I haven't tried!? But everything reminds me of her. Here, in Japan, every minimal think remains me of her. It doesn't matter where I look, she's everywhere in my mind.❞ Sasaki sighed, wiping the new tears that had rolled down the sides of her face. ❝Can you watch over Hana for a while? I need to get some air...❞ she stood up and Ji-eun nodded.
She walked downstairs with Ji-eun, Changbin had Hana sitting on his lap as he played with her to keep her entertained, ❝I think he's more than happy to.❞ Ji-eun chuckled softly trying to cheer the older female who simply nodded, making her way out of the house with her phone. She put her earbuds and opened Spotify, playing Fine by Taeyeon as she started walking around without any destiny when she bumped into someone.
❝M-Mari..?❞ a weak, yet familiar voice called her name.
❝Y-You aga- What happened to your face!?❞ she cried out as her hand reached for Seulgi's bruised face ever so gently.
❝N-Nothing. I-I just mistepped and fell of the stairs at home.❞ the way her eyes adverted immediately to the floor, made Sasaki's blood boil.
❝Stop lying to me. Who did this to you!?❞
❞...My husband...❞ she mumbled under her breath and Sasaki froze in place.
❝You left me for someone like this!?❞ Mari took Seulgi's hand carefully before dragging her to Ji-eun's house.
❝You don't understand... It wasn't like that... H-He was threatening to find you and hurt you if I didn't!❞ she cried out following behind her.
❝W-What..? Why didn't you tell me!? I-I would've come right away... I would've kick his ass!❞
❝That's exactly why I didn't tell you... To keep you safe.❞ she let a few tears escape her eyes, sighing as they entered the house so abruptly it startled everyone but Hana who slept upstairs.
Sasaki didn't say a word to Ji-eun as she dragged Seulgi to the nearest bathroom, ❝God damnit, Ally! Where do you keep your first aid kit?❞ she muttered under her breath looking for one until she finally got her hands on one and quickly opened it.
❝Stay still.❞ the brunette said, pouring some chlorhexidine into a cotton swab before gently cleaning the open cut on her lip and Seulgi whimpered in pain.
❝What the hell just happened?❞ Min asked blinking in confusion as she stared out the living room door after watching Sasaki drag a bruised Seulgi inside.
❝I don't know! She left basically on the verge of tears and next thing I know she's walking inside looking pissed.❞ He shrugged, Hana sitting in his lap as the three of them looked at the door confused, Hana with her head tilted trying to understand why both adults stared that way.
❝How could you let him do this to you?❞ she asked, her fist clutching at the thought of him harming Seulgi, who flinched whimpering. Making Sasaki to step back in shock, she couldn't have thought she'd hit her right? ❝I-❞
❝Mari, I-❞ she couldn't finish her sentence as Sasaki walked out of the bathroom. Seulgi slowly walked out of the bathroom, only to find Himari standing there with tears in her eyes. ❝It's not like that, I swear... I would never once think you'd hurt me...❞ her arms wrapped tightly, ❝It's just- It's something my body does automatically... I guess it's somehow a defence mechanism... I-I'm sorry. I-I'm brok-mmmpf!❞
Sasaki couldn't take this any longer so she smashed her lips against hers, shutting her up. ❝Come to Japan with me.❞
❝What about the tw-❞
❝Don't worry about that, I'll take care of it. I'll bring them back to you, safe and sound. I promise. I won't let him take them. But you can't go back to that place. He'll kill you if he finds out.❞ Sasaki stated and Seulgi nodded with tearful eyes, ❝Where do you live?❞ With worried eyes, Seulgi hesitantly gave her the address. With a kiss pressed to Seulgi's forehead, Sasaki walked into the living room and dragged Ji-eun out of there before she spoke, ❝Where's your gun?❞ she asked making Ally's eyes widening in shock, worry and surprise.
❝W-Why? What happened!?❞
❝There's someone I need to get, but I need protection just in case something goes wrong.❞
❝What are you gonna do?❞ Min asked worriedly, afraid of what she might do.
❝I'm gonna get Su-ryeon and Seok-hun from their abusive father.❞ she spoke with such certainty. She had set her mind to it, there was no stopping her now.
❝Let me help you.❞ Ji-eun spoke but Sasaki quickly shook her head no.
❝No matter how things go, I will not be dragging any of you into this.❞ she stated and Ji-eun nodded leading her her safer, picking the gun out.
❝Thank you. If something goes wrong, don't let him hurt them.❞ she said putting the gun behind her back, stuck between her back and the waistband of the pants before pulling her shirt down to cover the rest of it. And with that said and done, Himari took off, driving off to the address Seulgi had given her.
She stopped by the front door with a smile, knocking on the door when a man opened the door, ❝Who are you? And why are you at my doorstep?❞ he asked with a wrinkled brow.
❝Oh my, how rude of me. I'm Seo-jin. I believe your wife must have forgotten to tell you, she called me to take the kids. She's planning quite a beautiful surprise for you.❞ with that said, she tried to act as kind as she could with a bright smile on her lips.
❝Oh, is that so? She isn't one to pull surprises.❞
Her eyes opened wide, ❝Omo, have I gotten the wrong house? Is this not Ms. Kang Seulgi's home? My deepest apologies.❞ she had no other choice at this point.
❝No, no. You got the right house. I will go collect them.❞ he retorted, walking off to bring the twins, ❝Su-reon, Seok-hun please behave at her care.❞ he said now kneeled in front of his undeserved children. They deserved a much better father.
❝We'll have lots of fun. Enjoy your alone time with your wife, sir.❞ she smiled taking each of the twin's little hands into hers before the man closed the door and she picked the two infants up, setting each on her hips before walking home. Once they were a decent distance from the house, she spoke to the two little kids, ❝Who is excited to go play with your friend?❞ and with that said the twins clapped excitedly their tiny little hands.
Finally at Ji-eun's house, she invited herself in with the spare key they lended her. ❝Why don't you call mommy?❞ the twins seemed confused, tilting their head as they looked at her.
❝Mama?❞ Su-ryeon asked confused and Seulgi showed up the second she heard her daughter's voice. She ran up to them, hugging the three of them.
❝Thank you... For bringing them back to me.❞ Seulgi whispered.
❝Hey, I'll do anything for you. Besides, I'm a mother too. I know how it's like.❞ Sasaki said with a tender smile as Seulgi took the twins into her arms.
❝Fwiends!❞ Hana cried out toddling into the hall making the two adults laugh and Seulgi set her children down.
❝Why don't you go play in the living room with Su-ryeon and Seok-hun, honey?❞ she softly suggested and the little infant took the twins hands and wobbly dragged them to the living room.
❝Do you think they'll be okay..?❞ Kang nervously asked, Sasaki reached for her hands, taking both into her own.
❝They already get along well, I'm sure they'll be okay.❞ she spoke with a reassuring smile as her thumbs rubbed gentle circles on the back of Seulgi's hands. ❝We'll leave the day after tomorrow. There's still 4 other girls I'd like to see before we leave.❞
❝Oh?❞ she asked confused, looking up.
❝The rest of Red Velvet, pabo.❝ she giggled with a soft shake of her head.
❝Oh, I should say goodbye as well... I haven't seen them in too long and now I'm leaving. They deserve an explanation.❞ Seulgi looked down with a saddened look.
❝You haven't seen them- That son of a bitch! I'm gonna kill him!❞ Sasaki hissed, ❝He didn't even let you keep your friends!? Who did he think he was?❞
Seulgi looked down and Mari sighed out of frustration, ❝Let's forget about him. I'm happy now.❞ with that said, Sasaki nodded wrapping her arm around Seulgi's waist before leading her into the living room where they sat down on the couch, next to Ji-eun and her husband while the three infants played on the little playground.
The two couples decided to watch a horror movie, each of their cuddling their respective partner. Oh how she had missed holding Seulgi in her arms. Eventually everyone headed to bed, Seulgi laid in bed watching as Mari put Hana to sleep, the twins already asleep in the bed with their mother.
❝Hey...❞ a pair of arms wrapped around Mari from behind, only then had she realized Seulgi had gotten off the bed, ❝Do you want me to try?❞ she whisper-asked.
❝You don't have to. It's o-❞ before she could finish, Seulgi took Hana who giggled and cooed up at her before yawning.
❝Fighing off sleep, huh? You tiny little girl, you need to sleep so you can grow big.❞ she softly spoke, rocking her in her arms. Mari watched in awe as she sat on the edge of the bed. Hana's Coors sushed as she snuggle her tiny body closer to Seulgi's before sucking on her little thumb as she drifted off to sleep.
❝How did you..?❞ Sasaki asked, mouth agape in shock.
❝Hm, secret.❞ she giggled, setting Hana down in the crib and climbing into bed, ❝Goodnight.❞ she smiled, pulling the covers over them and trying to fall asleep.
❝Goodnight.❞ Sasaki fell asleep almost immediately after.
Morning came and Sasaki woke up with the sun shining through the window, groaning she rose to her feet and placed her pillow in her place so the two s wouldn't roll over before walking downstairs and into the kitchen only to find Changbin there.
❝Morning.❞ Sasaki spoke from the doorway, ❝I'm guessing Ji-eun's still asleep?❞ she asked in an affirmation tone.
❝Good morning.❞ he greeted before chuckling, ❝You guessed it right. But the kids are in the living room watching TV.❞
❝Early birds, I see. Hana should be up soon too.❞ she chuckled, walking up to him, ❝Is there anything I can do to help?❞ she asked looking at the different ingredients and utensils displayed on the counter as he made something she couldn't quite figure out what for breakfast.
❝It's all good, don't worry.❞ he offered a smile and she nodded only for a sleepy Seulgi to join them in the kitchen with Su-ryeon and Hana on each side of her hips.
❝Morning, sunshine.❞ Himari softly spoke with a smile as she walked up to her, ❝Where's Seok-hun?❞
❝In the crib. He was still asleep unlike these two.❞ she said with a groggy chuckle escaping her lips.
❝Do you want me to take them so you can get some more sleep?❞ the taller female offered but the older seemed to deny, ❝Alright. We should probably go take care of inviting the girls for a lunch out.❞
❝I can't call them...❞ Seulgi sighed with saddened eyes making Sasaki frown in confusion but decided not to make questions.
❝Don't worry about it, I'll take care of it. Where should we go out for lunch tho?❞ she asked offering her a tender smile caressing her cheek.
❝We could go to that new restaurant that just opened about a week ago?❞ Kang suggested and she nodded, reaching for her phone, ❝I'll call them and let them know as soon as I feed Hana.❞ she said taking Hana who had began to fuss.
Sasaki walked to the bathroom with Hana, who instantly latched herself to her mother's chest. She was starving since for once she had slept through the entire night.
❝Omo, someone was starving.❞ she chuckled, surprised.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
❝Yes?❞
❝Mari, I've already invited the girls. Take care of inviting Red Velvet.❞ Ji-eun informed from the other side of the door.
❝Alright! Thank you! I will do so.❞ the older female spoke covering herself as Hana let go and burped her before walking out of the bathroom and towards the living room, setting her daughter in the little playmatt.
Reaching for her phone, she looked through her contacts calling the first Red Velvet member she found.
❝Mari?❞ a soft voice asked in a confused tone on the other side of the line.
❝Joo-hyun, hi! It's so nice to talk to you again, it's been a while!❞ Sasaki spoke, happy to hear her voice after a while. It had been nearly a year since the last time she had gotten the chance to call her, ❝I'm in Korea for a few more hours, I was wondering if you and the rest of the Red Velvet girls would like to meet us for lunch today?❞
❝I must say, it's nice to hear about you- Wait, for real? I would love to! But I don't live with the girls anymore.❞
❝Oh, I figured. But don't worry about that, I'll give them a call myself.❞
❝But wait, who's us?❞
❝Oh you know, us the Cherry girls.❞
❝Alright, alright! I can't wait to see you guys. Anyways, I'll let you get to do you, text me the address.❞
❝Will do! See you later!❞ with that said, she ended the call before looking for the next to show up in her contacts.
❝Soo-young! Hi! It's been a while.❞ Sasaki greeted the second the other tall female answered.
❝Mari? Is it really you?❞
❝Nah, it's Jesus.❞ she teased, chuckling softly.
❝How have you been? It has indeed been a while!❞
❝Mhm, which is why I'm calling. I'm in Korea for a couple more hours and I was wondering if you and the rest of the Red Velvet girls would like to join us for lunch?❞
❝Wait, you're in Korea!? Of course! Just send me the address and I'll meet you there.❞
❝Alright! I'll see you later then!❞ and another call came to an end and it wasn't even a minute later before Sasaki was on the phone with Wendy, who quickly agreed and then it was Yeri.
Time flew by quickly and now everyone sat at the restaurant table, the husbands had stayed home with the kids for the girls' date and the only one whose partner came along was Sasaki's since she was a member of Red Velvet too.
Halfway through, Seulgi excused herself to use the bathroom and had yet not returned and it started worrying everyone.
❝Hey, I'm gonna go check on Seulgi. I'll be right back.❞ Sasaki said and Irene got up too, going with her.
❝Seulgi-ah!❞ Irene called as soon as they walked in but there seemed to be no response, ❝Yah! Seulgi-ah! This isn't funny!❞
❝Seulbear, baby?❞ She looked everywhere but she seemed to be nowhere.
❝Wait, you two are together? I thought she got married and that's why she left us without saying a word!❞ Bae frowned in confusion, looking around.
❝Long story... But it's hers to tell you...❞ Himari sighed frustrated just as they came out of the bathroom empty handed. There seemed to be no signs of Seulgi and that's when Sasaki's eyes caught something just outside the restaurant. A mad dragging a girl into a black van. She sprinted, running as fast as she could but she was too late, ❝Fuck, fuck, FUCK!❞
She rushed back inside, picking her phone and calling 112. There was no way she'd let him hurt her again.
❝Hello? Yes. There's been a kidnapping of a 29 years old woman! Her name is Kang Seulgi! Her husband's going to kill her if we don't find her soon!❞ she cried out into the phone, her whole body trembling. Both of fear and anger. Everyone stood up, eyes widened, while Himari spoke on the phone with the police. ❝I saw the van's licence plate, it's...❞
Once the call had ended, Sasaki grabbed her things. ❝You girls should go home. It's safer.❞ she said to the Red Velvet girls who nodded softly.
❝Please find her...❞ Irene said as she collected her things.
❝Ally, please go home and make sure Su-ryeon and Seok-hun are safe and sound. Don't let him take them. I have to go to the police station.❞ she asked and she nodded softly.
❝I'll go with you.❞ both Solar and Su-jin said, gathering their things.
❝I'll go try to track the car that took her.❞ Ae-ra spoke as well, gathering her things.
Everyone parted ways, Red Velvet went home and so did Ji-eun while Ae-ra went to the company she works for to ask for help tracking the car and the three remaining girls drove to the police station to make their statements, of course, Sasaki had to tell them the truth about what happened to Seulgi during these last few years before they got there.
❝Jagi? Where are the twins?❞ Ally asked the second she burst into the house.
❝In here, honey.❞ he answered rather confused and Ally ran into the living room the second she locked the door and windows.
❝Good. I have to keep them safe while Mari is at the police station. Seulgi was taken.❞ she explained softly sitting next to the playmat the three infants played. ❝Where are Miyoung and DaeSeong?❞
❝They're in their rooms.❞ he answered and she nodded softly.
Ae-ra was already inside the building, talking to her boss about the situation at hand. Of course that, as soon as it was explained she was given authorisation to use whatever device and available team needed to locate them. And once she had their location, she texted it to Sasaki.
❝Ae–ra found her. I have to go.❞ Sasaki said to the two girls with her but both of them got up.
❝You’re not going alone. Are you out of your mind? Do you not remember what happened three years ago?❞ Su-jin stated, not giving her a choice and Kyong nodded in agreement.
❝I— Fine... I need to drop by Ji-eun's to get a weapon.❞ she sighed in defeat before stating.
❝We’re going to stop at my place, I have an idea.❞ Kyong said as everyone hopped into the car and took off towards her place. Once there, she led them to the weaponry room previously locked, letting them pick their weapon while she stuffed hers into the waistband of her cargo pants.
As the three were ready, they got into the car and Sasaki was the one driving this time. Speeding off to the address Ae-ra had sent her. Parking far enough not to be noticed, they hopped off the car and sneaked their way into the abandoned warehouse. They looked around, staying close to each other.
❝Looking for something?❞ a male voice spoke from behind them and the three turned around in an instant.
❝Seulgi!❞ Himari cried out, the older female was tied, with a cloth over her mouth as he held her with a knife pressed to her neck.
❝One more move and she's dead.❞ he retorted with a sickening smirk on his lips. Those words were enough to make Sasaki drop her gun and raise her arms, there was no way she'd risk it.
❝If you wanna hurt anyone.. just hurt me. But let her go...❞ she said looking at him, trying to come up with a plan and that's when something happened that shocked all of them, Ae-ra had sneaked behind him and hit him with the handle of her gun hard enough to knock him out and in a second Sasaki had ran to Seulgi, untying her and removing the cloth that covered her mouth, ❝I’m so sorry.❞ Himari said, pulling her into a tight, protective embrace, ❝I was so scared...❞ a relieved sigh escaped along with the soft tears.
❝Are you crazy?❞ Seulgi finally spoke making Sasaki's eyes widen, ❝You could have gotten yourself killed, pabo!❞ and before Sasaki could answer, she was yanked into another embrace as the sirens made themselves heard from afar, signaling that the cops were on the scene.
❝I’ll need you girls to make a statement at the station as soon as possible. And miss, you should go to the hospital.❞ a cop said while another cuffed the unconscious man that began to wake up.
❝Yah! Get off of me!❞ he struggled, trying to free himself.
❝You are under arrest for abduction and domestic violence. Everything you say will be used in court.❞ the cop spoke reading him his rights as he pulled him to his feet.
❝What nonsense is this? This girls set me up.❞ he tried but the officer remained silent, dragging him outside and into the backseat of the car.
❝Thank you for your quick work locating the victim’s whereabouts. It is thanks to you that she's safe and sound.❞ the officer said with a bow and all the girls bowed as well.
❝Come on, I'm gonna take you to the hospital.❞ Sasaki said, wrapping her arm around Seulgi's waist who nodded and walked outside with Ae-ra, Su-jin and Kyong in front of the two. This time Kyong Soon and Su-jin went into Ae-ra’s car, leaving Himari and Seulgi the car they had previously used. Sasaki hopped into the driver's seat after helping Kang into the passenger's seat and taking off to, not the nearest, but best hospital she knew in South Korea.
❝That was a close call.❞ Kyong Soon sighed relieved as she rested back onto the backseat.
❝Don’t tell me. For a moment, I thought we were about to lose both Seulgi and Mari.❞ Su-jin spoke after before turning to Ae-ra, who was focused on the road as she drove, ❝Thank you for coming. If it wasn't for you, they wouldn't be on their way to the hospital by themselves.❞
❝Are you still sure we shouldn't have gone with them? One of us at least?❞ the maknae asked, she seemed rather worried.
❝I’m sure. They need some time for themsel—❞ Su-jin was interrupted by the phone ringing. It was Ae-ra’s, who pressed the answer button on her car's little screen and surely soon enough Ji-eun's voice was made heard in the car.
❝Ally.. Ally!❞ Su-jin tried but it seemed useless as the female on the other end of the line spoke a little too fast.
❝YAH! ALLY!❞ Kim exclaimed out, shutting Ji-eun up. ❝Breathe woman! They're safe and sound. Mari's taking Seul to the hospital just for safety. He has been arrested.❞ she sighed as Ji-eun now spoke normally.
❝Oh– That's good!❞ she said and you could hear the relieved sigh that escaped her in the car, ❝I’ll call Mar—❞
❝NO!❞ the three girls cried out, startling the poor female and making her drop the phone.
❝Geez. Alright, alright. Why not?❞ she groaned with a roll of her eyes the others luckily couldn't see.
❝Because we didn't go with them so they could have some privacy, don't you dare ruin our plan.❞ Su-jin retorted.
Meanwhile with Sasaki and Kang, the two seemed silent until Seulgi spoke.
❝Thank you...❞ it was as low as a murmured secret someone didn't want you to hear, but she meant it.
❝For what?❞ Sasaki wrinkled a brow in confusion as her eyes took a quick glance at the girl sitting next to her before focusing back on the road.
❝Risking your life for me.❞ Seulgi said, staring out the window.
❝Yah! You know I'd do it again in an heartbeat.❞ she stated, shrugging at the end. She didn't see why she was being thanked.
❝I don't want you to...❞ Kang mumbled, and Himari simply went silent. ❝I would never forgive myself if I had been the reason you got hurt...❞ she completed after a while.
❝I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I did nothing to save you.❞ the taller female spoke, her hand reaching over to hold Seulgi's who stayed silent, staring out the window until Mari parked, hopping off and helping Seulgi out.
At the hospital, Seulgi went through different kinds of exams and tests just to make sure she was alright, once it was made sure she wasn't in any danger she was released and soon Sasaki was driving the two back to Ji-eun's place.
❝I wanna go back to Red Velvet...❞ Seulgi suddenly blurted out.
❝W–What do you mean?❞ Sasaki asked confused, looking at the road.
❝I miss performing...❞ she admitted, looking down at her lap.
❝I can't stop you from doing what you love...❞ she said softly pulling into the driveway, ❝If that's what you want then we'll manage. I'll quit my job in Japan and look for one here. But I'm not leaving you again.❞
❝I’ll go with you. To Japan. For a while until you quit. I'll help you with whatever you need until we come back.❞ she said with a smile, looking up at Himari who nodded offering a smile of her own.
It had been five years since they had gotten back together, a lot had happened but the two remained together. In fact, they had a beautiful wedding three years ago and lived in a rather big house in South Korea with their kids. Hana, Su-ryeon and Seok-hun were now six years old, attending the best primary school in Korea. Seulgi had returned to Red Velvet surprising all the ReVeLuvs and Himari, well Himari became a dance teacher at SM Entertainment, reaching young trainees.
And as far as it goes, they've had a happy life together.

I've been waiting to get to this one for a bit and even with how anticipated it was by me, it absolutely did not disappoint. I am hooked.
"You stand on the second last step of your stairway, awaiting your sister’s arrival with the same old vexation you’ve felt since you met Jungkook for the first time. Years ago." I loove when there's history between the characters that we slowly get to discover throughout the story, can't wait to find out everything. Also, Jungkook is with OC's sister???
"Not that you walk the streets with a lifted dress and curses falling off your tongue." Lmao, that sounds like a fun way to live tho.
“I mean, it’s a Lord, for God’s sake! Such royalty doesn’t approach us every day! And yes, I think you’re very different from me. And a lot like him,” she emphasises, once more." Hmmm, so there must be some interesting circumstances for them to hate each other if they're so alike, it can't be because they just don't click. And now that I think about it, if they really are alike, it will probably make it even harder for them to hate each other once they're forced to actually spend time together.
“His name is Kim Seokjin,” she tells you, gulping hard, “and he has me wrapped around that pretty finger of his.” Ah, aren’t we all wrapped around that finger.
"It just doesn't sound like he cares a ton. And he has no manners," you look away, hiding the transparent disgust on your countenance. "He's frustrating and unpredictable, and his parents... caretakers had to save him several times." It's funny to me how these rants of what she dislikes about him sound quite alike to the rants you go on when you like someone too. I wonder if we'll get something like that down the line lmao. Also what happened to Jungkook's parents 🤔🤔🤔
"Might be the slightly tilted smile, the big, jet black eyes. Or the golden skin, the button nose. Constantly pouty lips, deep dimples that he doesn't need to smile for." I'm convinced that I'll never get tired of reading descriptions of Jungkook's beauty 😭😭😭 It's just something that always needs to be appreciated.
"If he wasn’t as imprudent as his reputation suggests, you’d probably be one of the many women sighing and dreaming in his presence." There's still time for you to become one of those women 👀👀👀
"Perhaps you’ve forgiven already — perhaps there’s even a shred of empathy left in you that feels guilty for disliking him as you do." There's already so much complexity to her dislike towards him and we don't even know the reason for it yet. I love when enemies to lovers has depth and it's not just them despising each other out of nowhere and then also falling in love just as suddenly.
"But you can’t bear his words anymore. Hurt accompanied his presence one too many times in the past, and you can’t hear any of it anymore." It really does sound like he's hurt her badly though.
"Jungkook cocks an eyebrow in irritation, fingers fiddling with his gloves, “Hold on. Did I do something to you?” Is he just pretending he doesn't know or did he really not hurt her on purpose? Either way, it makes everything more painful when a person who's hurt you won't even admit to doing it.
"So she waits for your expressions to relax, folding her hands, slowly blinking, before she reminds you, “There was a time, long before he courted your sister, when he was almost your suitor.” No You stuffed this very memory in the back of your mind, and you won’t let her tug it to the front. You won’t even tell her what occurred back then; why you wrote him off, all the things he said." Oh, if he insulted her so much when they were supposed to be courting, then I feel like the wound and emotion would run quite deep.
"They won't. All you have is a garden nearby, and the worst beast we might encounter is the sin... lust." Alriiiiight.
"If you’re the calmness of water, then he’s the danger of fire." And yet her sister thinks they're very similar.
"You remember. You did. But that’s because Jungkook began; knew how to humiliate you, knew how to nearly destroy your persona to the entire peerage." All of this sounds so intense, no wonder she doesn't like him.
“I remember,” he admits, “But I… I’d rather pretend I don’t.” Well that seems like a coward's way out though. You can't escape the past, no matter how ashamed you are of it. And definitely not when it had such a big impact on another person.
"You think you see the same fragments of guilt that are cutting your heart. Because when you think back to what he’s pretending to forget, you still can’t hate the boy for what he did. Only for the things he kept doing." Well it sounds like he did a lot, so her feelings are obviously very justified.
“We were adults then, and I was ready to forgive you,” you tell him, gulping, “until you told a handful of men who liked me, that I’m the most untrustworthy snake in town. And how my sister,” you laugh; your gaze shifts to the ground, “is much more beautiful and actually worth the trouble.” Daaaamn he was mean.
"Life threw hurdles at him, and soon made him someone he’d never aspired to be. Half of the things you listed have long escaped his memory — what remains is how empty he felt each night before he fell asleep." I know that having a hard life doesn't excuse you from being a mean person but also like 🥺🥺🥺. It's not so easy staying kind when your life is beating you down. I'm a little all over the place with my feelings for Jungkook lmao.
“Let me court you." Well, that's a bomb to drop when she was just reminding him of all of the ways he's hurt her.
"You wouldn't be. But, despite the hate we carry for each other, I think that you and I would understand each other." I'm so interested to see if they truly are as alike as everyone says they are.
“I… I want to try. I don’t want to regret not trying. And I am sick of sleeping around town,” he confesses. It’s something you didn’t expect, he thinks. Because you tilt your head in question." It’s really cute how he notices all of her little behavioural tells. It does seem like he's observed her quite a lot, doesn't it?
"He assumes you don’t hear it when he adds in a quiet whisper, “That brute in our mansion is right about one thing… I’m not good for much.” Well now I want to feel bad for him, but I also feel bad for OC too 😔😔😔 I guess the best way to go is just to feel bad that circumstances led them to hating each other instead of being close.
“Do you realise that most of our feuds are in the past?” he counters, his voice louder now. “If we hadn’t wounded each other so much at such a young age… I wonder if we could’ve been friends. I just. I don’t wish to foster bitter relationships anymore.” I hope there's still time for them to become friends, and that the damage isn't irreparable.
“That I shouldn’t have done all that to you that night. I don’t think it’s easy for either of us to find liking each other, because too much happened, but… I want to try.” Final statement. He wants to try. Even adds one single, “Please.” I feel like I'm more conflicted than OC at this point. Because at times he can seem really sincere but he seems to have hurt her a lot in the past and from what we saw in the teaser, he's still not completely above being mean. So I really don't want to let him soften me up like this.
"To you, you’re water, and he’s fire — but perhaps there’s a grey area where you meet. Where you collide and become steam, evaporating, hot yet calm." It seems like no matter what new genre you try out, Rid, your writing is always beautiful.
"But you still know that he left you speechless and confused. You were hurt, as much as a child can be hurt from another stranger child; but even then, you knew where his temper was coming from." See here's the thing. I feel for poor Jungkook, and of course a child isn't going to know how to handle his grief in the right way and not let it out on people. I'm sure OC doesn't blame him much for what he did back then. But for him to keep doing it later for no good reason??? Yeah, I might have been even angrier than OC.
"So you panicked when the man you didn’t know — Jungkook’s uncle, his dowager mother’s cousin who later married her and became the Duke himself, as you’d find out — came closer, peppering you with a dozen questions." Ew.
"But what you hate is how much that night started. How it rolled out the rivalry without any valid reason." Yeah 😔😔😔
"What happened to all those evil adjectives?” Taehyung prods, drawing close; Jungkook pushes him away lightly." Lmaoo, Tae coming in with all of the blunt questions. But really, it must be quite surprising to see Jungkook and OC together when he knows how much they hate each other. Also, Seokjin and OC's sister are cuuute.
"Like, when he says, “I meant to tell you that… you look gorgeous tonight.” Still not over this and him saying he thought about what she might be wearing 🤭🤭🤭
"You don’t think he should be doing any of it in public, that his expression should shift as it just did. But he’s a mystery, and you still can’t shake the glooming feeling that he’s following a greater agenda." This is too ominous and Jungkook is too charming. How am I supposed to keep my guard up and be wary when he acts like this?
"His hair tickles your cheek, and the heat of his breath skims your neck, “You meant something way worse to me than an enemy. Sometimes I hated you enough to feel closer to you than to anyone else.” I looove the intensity of everything going on. It's so great to escape into someone else's emotional turmoil between nerve wracking exams.
"You turn around, shaking your head in disbelief, “Pain is not one-sided. You will never be the only one to feel a certain thing. And no matter how bad you have it, no one deserves to be put in the same misery!” This is so well said! I hope that at least now Jungkook has realised that inflicting pain on innocent people isn't going to lessen your own.
“You’re not a tool to make my mistakes undone.” His digits wander to yours, fingertips finally brushing your skin like a feather; opening your fist. “But if you could make me feel so much resentment without deserving it… maybe you can awaken some of the good feelings, too. And learn to see me as a friend, too.” Damn, he's pretty convincing ngl. He seems so genuine, but the way he's hurt her continuously over the past is making me too wary.
"And you don’t ask; instead, you repeat, “You think I can awaken something good in you?” His words merge with the whisper of the breeze, accompanied by a gentle nod and a light touch on your elbow, “And you’d deserve that affection, too.” What a charming man 😔😔😔
"You puff out a breath, shaking your head immediately, and answer, “Oh no. I just read. I admire literature, because crafting an entire story must be… difficult.” I genuinely have such admiration for anybody who writes. And you're one of those people I admire a lot, Rid, you create such beautiful characters and stories that I love getting lost in.
"You surprise each other with each second you spend in the other’s company." It does seem like they have quite a lot in common and that everyone was right about how alike they are. It's really good to see them connect on a more personal level like this.
"And no one but you hears him say, “Just. If it’s not love, then you might want to use your fantasy. Then you’ll know.” What a little shit (I love it lmao)
"There’s a trace of guilt in his heart, because for all the mean years he spent tormenting you, he missed out on all the kindness your pure heart had to offer." Aww that's so cuteee and sad at the same time.
“But I—” He thinks for a moment, wondering how to phrase his next attempt. “I do think we’d look good together. Your hand in mine is the first thing royalty loving people might want to see, and… it’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think of you, too.” He's really got game, no wonder all the women love him despite his reputation.
“Riding, I do. Does not involve horses, though,” Jungkook admits." 😳😳😳
“Perhaps you can hold my hand afterwards. As a way to feign innocence,” you suggest. Your thoughts are blurred; so are your ideas." I love the way she's still managing to banter a little even in this situation that would have anyone lightheaded and speechless.
“Closer,” he repeats, basking in your gasp when his grip settles on your thigh, pulling you to him. “We don’t have a lot of time.” Daaamn, we really turned up the intensity, going from children in orphanages to this.
“Fuck,” he curses. His unoccupied hand immediately shuts your sudden cry as he bites into your shoulder, pressing harder against your clit. “You’re even worse than me.” Once again, your smutty scenes show off the overall dynamic of the couple so well, Rid. Because we've seen that other people think they're very alike, we've seen them have the same view on things, and now we see them both being equally horny. There is just undeniable chemistry between them that you can see in all of their interactions.
"But when the wish threatens to burst out, the coachman, hopefully oblivious, yells back, “We’re arriving shortly!” 😔😔😔 What a shame.
"Society is close — so you break the tension, and joke, “Hide whatever grew in your pants.” Lmaooo.
"But who could focus on split tongues and slit-formed pupils when a way brighter charm is standing right next to you? Shaking his head in frustration, rolling his eyes at people’s audacity." 🥺🥺🥺 That is so cuteee. Before he was the reason people talked about her like that, and now he's the reason she ignores the way they talk about her 🥺🥺🥺
"Caterpillars previously crawling through your stomach, filling you with utmost hate and displeasure, flutter as butterflies across your torso now. Whatever confessions would have riled you up not long ago, are now desired. Your heart craves them." 💕💕💕
"Jungkook smiles with his eyes, too, you noticed. The crinkles at the corners of them, the night sky inside them, the joy around them. His nose sometimes scrunches in the most devastating honey-sweet way; his lower lip is tilted." 🥺🥺🥺 As I said before, I could read paragraphs describing Jungkook's beauty, especially if they're written by you, Rid.
"You catch a tender smile, but when he spots the stranger conversing with you, his eyes narrow for just a moment. Relaxing when you give him a little wave." Cuteee. I'm sorry if that's all I can say at this point, but I find them too adorable.
“Sure,” Byun says, “I was solely wondering, because — and don’t take this as an offence — I’m aware that you’re a big man’s daughter. But someone like a Lord usually courts someone of his kind. Or at least announces the courtship in a more respectable way.” This really has no manners huh.
“And then I… I realised that the time for finding comfort in other women is truly over. I just wanted you as a friend, but…” He moves closer slowly. Fingertips on your arm again, lips close to your cheek. “Watching someone stand so close to you… I told myself it doesn’t bother me, but it does.” Sooo, I'm usually the biggest advocate against any semblance of jealousy, but something about this just... hits different.
“No. You being you… me wanting, craving you all the damn time. Me finally realising it. That’s why I’m furious… It enrages me.” One of the hottest things I've ever heard 😳😳😳
"You hate the transformation that occurred within those few days. Hate how his hands cup your face; fingers then shifting to hold your chin; then, a palm against your back like he’s treasuring you." LIKE HE'S TREASURING YOU!!!!!
"God, you despise him now more than ever. Hate that he’s so difficult to truly detest, despite his irksome flaws and incorrigible nature." Ah, I've been in this state since the beginning.
"He whispers, “My God, you enrage me… yet I need you near me all the time.” One of the hottest things I've ever heard part two.
"You ignore that he imagined kissing you, that he overthought your reaction, that you were and are one of his daily thoughts at all." So it definitely seems like he's very attracted to her, I just wonder if his feelings go a little deeper than physical yet.
“Yes, that’s a good alternative to absolutely dying to tear you apart,” he growls through gritted teeth, more. Keep going.” Your smut genuinely never misses, Rid. It always matches the vibe of the story and the dynamic of the couple so well too.
"From the way he looked at you, his sentiment seemed and felt real. You won’t necessarily claim he’s in love with you, and you probably aren’t either yet, but you do think that he’s at least reached a stage of affection for you." Yeah, that's what I'm saying too! I hope it's true 😔😔😔
"You suppose you weren’t the only child fearing his presence. There was someone who was surrounded by it all the time, fearful and quiet." Yeah, no wonder he wants to leave the town.
"But it doesn’t hurt less. Because it means that anything he said, all the touches you shared were meaningless, a product of desire but nothing behind it." See, I just don't think that's true, but I guess only time and Jungkook will tell.
"She didn’t tell you just how bad it could be." I meaaan OC did say she wanted love and then heartbreak and then love again...
"You look around, goosebumps on your skin. Less because of the breeze, more because it carries his scent to you." I love these lines.
"An inside voice chuckles when your knees threaten to buckle — after everything you’ve heard, you still think that deep down, he cares. That despite his battle plan, you took over at least a tiny spot in his heart; somewhere in the back, hidden but there." I genuinely think that he has affection for her. This might be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I don't actually hate Jungkook, like, at all. Like OC said, I'm sure he feels trapped in this situation by his uncle, who is probably one of the big reasons he wants to leave town anyway. And even if this started as his way of setting himself free from his reputation, there's no way that he hasn't grown fond of OC. I hope that he can show her that, but I'm sure that we'll have to get through some angst before he can accomplish that, since OC has every right to feel betrayed and angry.
"What your lips will do is let him pull you in and kiss you. Will move against his. Will drown in the deep tenderness of his touch, no matter how much it hurts. Will permit him to slide his tongue through, dancing with yours. When he's done playing with you, and you're done letting him, he pecks the apple of your cheek once more, and then mutters, "Good night, princess" This is so sad ☹☹☹ Poor OC must be feeling so conflicted.
This was such an intense ride and I'm honestly so excited for the next part. I feel like this review was a little all over the place and more me reacting than any actual meaningful thoughts lmao. But I was kind of more along for the ride here and vibing, because as I said, this was a great way to completely detach from all of my nervous thoughts and fall into someone else's problems that feature Jeon Jungkook instead of exams lmao.
Thank you for creating another amazing story, Rid <3

@zepskies
I've been waiting ALL week for this!
Dean has a problem. Looking into her eyes, soulful and brown, the slope of her nose and her full lips, parted with shock…
It's not a problem Dean, (the gun is obviously BUT) she is beautiful and you will love her and I will cry at your wedding.
He nods, and his smile falls with a weary sigh. The hard part about that is he doesn’t feel much guilt about what he’s done. At the same time, he does, and the conflict churns in his stomach. He knew what kind of man Roman was. He was the kind of soldier that could’ve filled Colonel Sanderson’s shoes one day. A fellow soldier under Dean’s command...
Dean no. No feeling bad for saving your girl and for killing the "sack of shit in human clothes."
Also I didn't notice the Colonel Sanderson thing before and now all I can think about is KFC lol.😂 Which is not to take away from how good this fic is or how well it's written. It's just me lol.
Dean grimaces, but he stays quiet. He turns to the woman and holds a finger over his lips. She stares back at him in apprehension. He begins to creep slowly around the hill, but she grabs onto his wrist. For a second, she looks just as surprised as him by the reflexive action. Then, she shakes her head at him. Don’t go out there, her eyes say. Dean smiles, and he gives her a reassuring wink. He gently removes her hand and gestures at her to stay where she is. He army crawls up the side of the hill. It gives him a vantage point to watch his men, who approach just a few feet down below.
Oh goodness she is already so protective of him and oh my word the wink had me melting lol.
I also don't think that I mentioned this before, but I really like how you wove in the other characters in the show. Seeing Benny and Cas show up just made me so happy.
Dean knows the position he’s put his own men in. He doesn’t blame them for following the Colonel’s orders. He just hopes they can forgive him for what he’s about to do. He leaps off the edge of the hill with a yell and brings Benny with him to the ground. He sweeps Cas’s legs out from underneath him, then tosses a punch that lands on the corner of Benny’s chin. He kicks Benny’s gun away, and wrestles Cas until his pistol falls from his hand. The three men scrap and trade blows, until Dean is the only one left standing. His men are groaning on the dusty ground, slowly picking themselves up.
Oh my word seeing that fight in my head, um... YES PLEASE.
And the loyalty?! The love for their friend?! The "Goodbye brother."? It's so good.
“Kim…mila,” he attempts. She guides Mato closer and grabs Dean by his cheeks with one hand. “Kimmí.” “Kimmí,” he repeats with his cheeks squished. His face is starting to warm up, and not altogether in embarrassment. “Mila,” she says with a nod. “Mila,” Dean says. “Kimmímila.”
She's squishing his face! That is so cute, oh my stars. Plus I am cackling at how long it took him to be able to say her name.
“But my mother had a dream before I was born,” Mila says. “She saw beautiful wings, and said I would have a free mind. When I grew, and wanted to spend my days with horses more than cooking and sewing things, she didn’t call me free. She called me stubborn.” Her face begins to fall. “Maybe too stubborn.”
I absolutely love this! I really love it when writers pick the names of their characters based on the meaning behind it. And the fact that you gave the meaning of her name a backstory of her mom having a dream and the butterfly meaning that Mila "would have a free mind" is just so perfect for her. Because she is stubborn and she does have "a free mind" by being rebellious and strong, by being a strong female character who does not conform to the whims of what other people deem to be appropriate for her. Also it was funny that Dean thought she was like a "lioness."
"Fair enough," he says, glancing over at her. “I think my dad thought the fighting would end with the war, but, uh...it never really ends, does it?”
This is a really wonderful line, that the war "never really ends." It really fits this story and honestly it really fits the entire early history of the United States when it was acquiring territory and embracing the "manifest destiny" ideals.
Dean enjoys listening to her stories. He likes what he learns about her, but also, he just likes the sound of her voice, smooth and steady, almost calming. He thinks she might like the sound of his too, the way she’s smiled at him, laughed with him, glanced at him when she thinks he’s not looking.
Okay, the whole part where she is explaining things about her life and her culture was so sweet. Them opening up with one another is just so soft and a little fluffy and I'm so glad that they got to have those gentle moments with one another. Not to mention this bit where Dean admits how much he likes listening to her, is just so good lol.
And I thought it was really on brand for him to be a little upset that she doesn't completely trust him yet, even though that he killed one of his men. But he's got to learn to be patient... and then propose. LOL.
At the very least, the way she looks at him now is softer than that first day.
I think my soul has left my body. This is so cute.
She nods back at him and pretends not to watch when he sits up with a groan, stretching and bending his arms high behind his head. He removed his uniform jacket to sleep. It allows her to see every dip of male muscle that his plain white shirt clings to, even in the long sleeves. Her gaze furtively runs over the broad shoulders, the tapered waist, then back up to his half-bearded face, defined by a strong jaw and dark brows. The sun catches on his brown hair and teases the ends of it golden. She would never admit it, but he’s not unpleasant to look at.
Don't be afraid to admit it Mila, we all know how good he is to look at. And why shouldn't you look at your future husband? 💍
A breath gets trapped in her throat as she once again looks between his warm hand closed over her smaller one, and his face. In the small space between them, there is a different kind of tension than before. Mila can’t tell what the man is thinking when he looks at her like that, but she doesn’t like it.
Oh my sweet goodness, the TENSION!!
This is so good my friend and I am so excited for what the future of this series holds and am praying that it doesn't end in death!😬💗
The Honorable Choice - Part 2
Pairing: Dean Winchester x OFC
Summary: June 1872. Captain Dean Winchester of the U.S. Cavalry is tasked with one job: break a wild mustang. He just didn’t expect the woman who infiltrates his camp, intent on freeing her tribe’s horse.
AN: “Getting to know you, getting to know all about you…” ⬅️ If you’ve seen The King & I, then you’ll probably be singing that line in your head like I do.
Disclaimer: I’ve done extensive research for this one, both on the American Indian Lakota tribe, and on American history during this time in the late 1800s (AKA: the Old West, during the American Indian Wars and the Sioux Wars). Of course, one of my main goals is to avoid inaccuracies, both historical and cultural.

Part 2: Death & Sacrifice
Dean falls out of his saddle with a yell, landing hard in the grass. The impact knocks the air out of his chest and the hat off his head, not to mention the pain that rattles down his back.
“Son of a bitch,” he wheezes, while trying to get back up.
The woman jumps down from the mustang’s back and all but leaps on Dean. Straddling his waist and grabbing a fistful of his collar, she lets out a battle cry and raises a small knife at him. It’s probably no more than two inches long.
Dean may be on the ground with a smarting forehead, but he’s still got the upper hand. He grabs her knife-wielding arm and whips out his pistol from his belt. Her eyes widen, and she stills above him. The gun lies between them, aimed for her chest. They’re both breathing hard.
Dean has a problem.
Looking into her eyes, soulful and brown, the slope of her nose and her full lips, parted with shock…
He just can’t do it.
His finger eases off the trigger of his gun, and he lowers it to the ground beside him.
“I told you,” he says. “I’m not gonna hurt you.”
Her head tilts as she stares at his gun, then at him. She relaxes somewhat, and she backs off of him, sliding from his lap down to the grass beside him. Her closed fist with the knife comes to rest at her side. She gives him a look of wary bewilderment.
“You are a strange man,” she says.
Dean has to laugh a little, smiling at her afterward.
“I guess so,” he replies.
Her brows furrow. “You killed one of your own…for me?”
And a sack of shit in human clothes.
Dean leans back on his hands in the grass and slides his legs out long. His stare falls to the earth between his boots. The ground is soft underneath him. Maybe it rained this morning.
“Yeah, that’s gonna make it tough when I go back,” he says. “At best, that’s a court martial. At worst…”
The Lakota woman frowns, her dark brows nearly meeting in the middle as she considers him. He wonders what she sees when she looks at him.
“Tell you what,” Dean said. “Give yourself and your horse a rest tonight. I’ll go back and tell them I lost you in the canyon.”
Her eyes widen further in surprise. He can’t blame her for it. He’s surprising himself every time he opens his mouth.
“Will they kill you?” she asks.
Dean shrugs. “Nah, I’ll be fine.”
She levels him with a firmer look, one that demands the truth.
His nonchalance wanes, and he sighs.
“They might,” he says.
She shakes her head. She seems to deliberate over something, but eventually she comes to a decision. Just when she opens her mouth to speak, a gunshot rings out and hits the ground not far from their feet. A warning.
The sound of hooves thundering on the earth reach them before they look up. Two horses gallop towards them in the distance, their riders wearing blue uniforms.
They both tense up, but Dean is the first one to move. He grabs her arm and helps her stand along with him. They scramble back and lead the horses by their reins further into the trees. They find a denser patch and a raised hill to crouch down and hide behind.
The mustang is too tired to go very far, but Baby is already making anxious sounds, protective of her rider.
“Shhh,” Dean whispers, and runs a soothing hand over her side. He leads her to lay down with her legs tucked underneath her.
The Lakota manages to do the same with the mustang after whispering to him softly in her language. There’s a trust between them, Dean realizes. They have a connection that seems to mirror his own with his horse. He doesn’t know how he didn’t see it before.
“Captain!” Benny calls out.
“Captain Winchester!” Cas calls next.
“We don’t want to have to come and get you, Dean. Come on,” Benny says. He does sound reluctant, for his part. His voice grows more somber when he says, “Colonel’s given us orders to bring you and the girl back…dead or alive.”
Dean’s heaving for breath as well as he leans back against the side of the hill. Despite that momentary victory, he knows what they all know: that this fight isn’t going to end until either they’re dead, or he’s dead.
“Where’s the girl, Dean?” Benny says. He implores him to see sense. “We take her back with us, we can smooth all this over with the Colonel. All of it, even Roman.”
Dean lets out a deep breath, but he shakes his head.
“Can’t do that, Benny,” he says. “I’m sorry.”
There’s a question circling in his friend’s eyes, but after a beat, Benny seems to know the answer to it. He picks up his gun from the ground. Just like Dean once did, the Lieutenant now has a choice to make.
He shares a heavy look with Cas. The two of them nod, before they focus back on Dean.
Benny’s hand falls, and he stows his gun.
“You died today,” Benny says. “We found your body somewhere in the canyon. Your horse too.”
Dean nods, with something of a smile. He supposes faking his death is the only option now. He rips the badge off his uniform jacket and tosses it to Benny.
“There’s your proof,” he says.
Dean shares a grim nod of respect with Cas while Benny examines the torn patch denoting a captain’s rank.
“Take care of each other,” Dean says.
Benny’s head raises, and he meets Dean with a somber gaze.
“Goodbye, brother.”
Dean doesn’t return to her until the men are out of sight through the trees. She’s still hiding along with the resting horses, waiting for him. That alone surprises him. It would bring a small smile to his face, if the weight of that goodbye didn’t feel so heavy on his shoulders.
He reaches out a hand for her. It takes her a moment to consider it, but she accepts his offer.
He helps her to her feet, after which, she quickly pulls her hand back. She’s wary of his touch, her face guarded when she looks up at him. Dean supposes he can’t blame her, even if it does strike a nerve. After what he just did for her…
His face becomes stoic, and he turns away to grab his hat from the dusty ground. “We should probably head out.”
She nods and calls to her horse to encourage him to his feet. Despite himself, Dean can't help but be curious. How did this girl manage to tame that wild beast?
“Does he have a name?” he asks.
“Mato,” she replies.
“Mato,” Dean echoes. “Does that mean something? You know, in your language.”
She eyes him wryly, brushing her hand over Mato’s hide.
“It means angry, like a bear,” she says.
Dean snorts. “Yeah, good name.”
He remembers his bruised side (and ego) from when the mustang threw him off his back.
Dean watches her with another realization as she gracefully mounts the horse. Baby has gotten up to her feet as well, already nudging the back of his arm with her snout. He rubs her nose in affection.
Then he turns to climb up onto her back, settling his feet into the stirrups and loosely grabbing the reins. He follows his companion’s lead farther into the forest, but he guides his horse to fall into step beside hers.
“Will you tell me your name now?” he asks. “Think we’ve been through enough together at this point, don’t you think?”
She considers it with a tilt of her head. She looks over at him with a small smile.
“Kimmímila,” she says. The syllables roll off her tongue effortlessly.
Dean raises his brows. “Kim…Kimmeela.”
She shakes her head at him, her lips pursing.
“Kimmímila.”
Lord help him, but he tries his best. His brows furrow.
“Kim…mila,” he attempts. She guides Mato closer and grabs Dean by his cheeks with one hand.
“Kimmí.”
“Kimmí,” he repeats with his cheeks squished. His face is starting to warm up, and not altogether in embarrassment.
“Mila,” she says with a nod.
“Mila,” Dean says. “Kimmímila.”
He’s treated to her smile, warm and true. She releases him, her gaze flitting over his face. Then she keeps riding. Dean grins to himself.
“Think I’m gonna call you Mila,” he says. Make it easier on myself.
She even laughs, a honeyed sound. “Yes, my father does too.”
“What does it mean? Your name.”
“In your language?” she says, in a tone that teases him back. She becomes thoughtful as she searches for the word. “It means…butterfly.”
“Really?” Dean remarks. She doesn’t strike him as a butterfly.
More like a lioness, he thinks, only somewhat holding back his grin.
She gives him some side-eye, despite her amusement.
“You think it does not suit me,” she observes.
“Well, I didn't say that—”
“I don’t think so either,” she admits. “There are many things that don’t suit me.”
Dean chuckles. He can imagine that.
Dean offers her a rueful, sympathetic look. “Yeah, I get it. My brother always said I was damn hardheaded,” he says. “…Maybe we’ve got more in common than we thought, huh?”
Mila’s smile returns, however slightly.
“You have a brother?” she asks.
“Oh, yeah. He’s a lawyer, so he’s more needed back home,” Dean replies.
Damn. He really does miss his bookish little brother.
He explains to her about his family, his brother and mother who still live in Lawrence, and how he joined the army, in part to honor his father.
“What happened to him?” she asks.
“He died…in some cornfield near Sharpsburg, Maryland, fighting the Confederacy,” he replies, heaving a breath.
"Con...federacy?" she questions.
"The South," Dean explains. "See, most of our southern states thought they should be their own country, letting slaves plow their fields and mind their kids. I may have lived on a farm, but my father always paid his workers. He fought for the Union."
"So you fought among yourselves, over land that did not belong to you," Mila points out.
Dean falls silent. After a little while, he concedes her point with an incline of his head.
"Fair enough," he says, glancing over at her. “I think my dad thought the fighting would end with the war, but, uh...it never really ends, does it?”
Her expression of curiosity fades, turning more solemn.
“No,” she agrees. “…I am sorry for your father.”
Dean's a little surprised to hear that from her, but he nods his thanks. They continue to talk as the sun begins to set in the west. When it dips behind the canyon, they stop to make camp for the night, and he helps her catch a rabbit to roast on the fire they build together.
That night over the meal, she slowly opens up to him. He learns that she’s an only child, though she has a sibling-like bond with her older cousin, Šóta. She spends most of her days planting or harvesting their crops, depending on the season, as well as sewing, painting, helping the elders of her tribe with tasks, and helping her mother and aunt cook.
When the rabbit is gone, she unbinds her long, thick hair and untangles it while she speaks. She explains that the Lakota are just one of many tribes. There are six other bands of Sioux who live in this region. Along with the Dakota and the Nakota, they are the “Seven Council Fires” who have made the Great Plains their home for generations.
She tells him about the way her tribe lives, caring for one another, giving the land back as much as they take, and letting it rest. The men hunt and protect the village from the outside, but the women protect the inside, their way of life.
Most of all, Mila tells him, she loves caring for the horses. She goes out and rides whenever she can duck out of her mother’s watchful eye.
Dean enjoys listening to her stories. He likes what he learns about her, but also, he just likes the sound of her voice, smooth and steady, almost calming. He thinks she might like the sound of his too, the way she’s smiled at him, laughed with him, glanced at him when she thinks he’s not looking.
She still picks a spot as far away from him as she can to sleep though. She keeps the fire pit in between them. He even catches sight of her knife, hidden in the hand she tucks underneath her cheek. Evidently, she doesn’t fully trust him just yet.
It annoys him at first, considering how many times he’s saved her already. How much he’s sacrificed just to get them this far…
Until he remembers how they met. He remembers the disdain and anger in her brown eyes, then the mistrust, and the fear hidden underneath. He thinks of every experience she’s likely had so far with the U.S. Military, and anyone else who looks like him.
Dean settles down on the ground and stares up at the innumerable stars in a raven sky. He’s exhausted, but his thoughts don’t let him rest for a while.
At the very least, the way she looks at him now is softer than that first day.
In the morning, Mila watches the strange man wake.
He blinks and rubs his bleary eyes, yawning, groaning at the sun’s brightness like a child. She hides her smile by bowing her head over the apple she’s cutting with her knife. The orchards span wide across the forest, and soon he’ll find two yellow-red apples beside his head.
His brows raise at them, then he looks up at Mila sitting with her legs crossed behind the small fire pit. The wood there is just ash and blackened remains now, but it still carries the smell of burning.
“Morning,” he greets.
Last night, she declined his offer to travel with her until she reaches her tribe safely, but he was insistent. Again, strange.
So here she is, with him. Here they are.
Dean turns to see the horses grazing nearby. Mato no longer has the saddle and bridle his men put on him. He looks rested and at ease. He even whinnies at Baby, tossing his head a little. She answers him and flicks her tail. They continue eating together.
Dean smiles, then grabs an apple. He raises it to her in thanks before he takes a large bite. Its juices run down the corner of his mouth, and he wipes at it with the back of his hand. Mila can’t help but be drawn to the sight.
She tears her eyes away when he looks over at her.
“We have a long way to go. Three days, if the weather is good,” she says, continuing to carve pieces of her apple to eat. “We will know we are close when we reach the river.”
Dean nods in understanding. With a grunt, he gets to his feet and takes another bite out of his breakfast. She doesn’t expect the way he approaches her with a hand outstretched. She looks up at it, then at his expectant face.
“Come on. Let’s hit the road then,” he says.
Mila considers his offer for another moment. He seems to be making this a habit. Amused, she wonders if this is just kindness, or if the women of his people aren’t allowed to stand without a man’s help.
She pockets her knife, swipes her braided hair over her shoulder, and slips her hand into his, allowing him to help her to her feet. When she gets there, he’s closer than he should be.
A breath gets trapped in her throat as she once again looks between his warm hand closed over her smaller one, and his face. In the small space between them, there is a different kind of tension than before. Mila can’t tell what the man is thinking when he looks at her like that, but she doesn’t like it.
And at the same time, she does.
She takes back her hand, and she goes to the horses. She firmly ignores how her heart gallops, even as she rubs at her chest like it’s an ache that can be soothed.
She doesn’t hear Dean’s unsteady breath, nor does she see the way his green eyes follow her.
AN: *rubs hands together* Well, here they are! It's all starting to come together. What did you think of Dean's decision?
Coming up next, we have the final part: some action, some fluff, and some potentially perilous situations for Mila and Dean...
Next Time:
“Yeah, about that…I’m thinking your tribe doesn’t take very well to outsiders,” he says. “White men in particular.”
Mila presses her lips together. He can tell she’s been thinking the same thing, but she turns to him with a determined set to her features.
“I will protect you,” she says.
Dean frowns. He doesn’t like the sound of that. On one hand, it warms him that she seems to really mean it. On the other hand, he doesn’t want to know what it’ll take for her to protect him.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” he asks.
She turns her face away and doesn’t seem to want to answer at first.
“Mila…”
“The Chief is my uncle,” she says at last. “He will listen to me.”
Dean blinks. Well, that changes things…maybe.
