Skylanders World-Building Time! Hooray!
In the opening of Skylanders: Swap Force for the 3DS, Count Moneybone casually lets it drop that he has a garden. I have now drawn said garden.
Gardens and gardening are a bit of a controversial hobby for the Undead if you're not keeping more spooky, undead-aligned things like dead stumps or choking vines because there's a superstition that keeping company with blooming plants full of Life and Growth will undo the magic keeping your skeletal/ghostly/rotting self together and soon flowers will erupt from your empty eyesockets as you scream in agony (think Grim Fandango but with less guns), which is why Count Moneybone keeps his lovely garden full of vegetables and flowers and pristine river water and blossoms a secret. If he says "a garden" and not elaborate further, surely his subjects will picture the more appropriate things!
He regularly has teatime or reads a book on the little island in the middle. He posts mechanical guards at the only exit and the password changes daily so don't even TRY to interrupt his "me" time.
He can grow a mean tomato plant.

How about 1, 3, and/or 5 for Samwise and Merry? It's an obscure one, but their canon interactions are so fun!
1. “How I think they met”
Honestly, I think they’d never really spoken to each other until Merry recruited Sam for the Conspiracy; but I think they would’ve known of each other, through Frodo, for longer than that. Frodo might have mentioned to Merry the latest antics of his gardener, Sam, and he might have told Sam that he was going to have his cousin over for tea that afternoon and to please sweep the grass clippings off the footpath before then.
If they’d ever crossed paths, Sam would’ve been too nervous to try small talk with a gentlehobbit (and a strange Bucklander, at that; don’t you know that they go out in boats??). Meanwhile Merry, while polite and courteous, would have had no reason to say anything to his cousin’s gardener beyond a pleasant “good morning”. But then around comes the Conspiracy, and suddenly Merry has a very good reason to speak to Sam—as a potential source of information, a spy for the good of someone close to them both—and they got to know and grow in respect for one another from there.
3. “A random headcanon I have of them”
Boating is one of Merry’s favorite hobbies. He’ll paddle out into the middle of the Brandywine and fish for hours until his skin is tanned and cracked by the sun. Sam, on the other hand, hates boats, and it’s one of the reasons he distrusted Merry at first, before they really got to know each other.
But as the years passed after the Quest and their curly hair turned grey, Sam began to make short trips to Buckland—“on business”, he said, though he wouldn’t say what the business was—and he’d quietly ask Merry to show him his way around boats.
Merry suspected his reasons from the very beginning, but he didn’t ask questions, and Sam didn’t offer information. Nonetheless, Merry showed him how to work the ropes and sails, and he explained their construction and repair and the waterproofing, and he’d keep the thing steady as Sam held on with knuckles quickly turning white. As the years went by, and Rosie’s health slowly worsened, Sam would visit more and more frequently. He got stronger and bolder on his “sea legs”, as if he was running out of reasons to stay afraid.
When Rosie passed away, Sam dug a letter out of a drawer and sent it straight away to Buckland.
What that letter said, no one else ever knew. But the younger Brandybucks heard old Meriadoc say, when he’d finished it, “Well, he’s off at last. I thought it might be so. I hope he finds him.”
Before the funeral ceremonies were over, a letter from Buckland arrived at Bag End that wasn’t the typical one of condolence; there was some of that, too, but also a message, and a sealed envelope that he was expressly asked not to open.
When Sam arrived in Valinor, he was carrying a letter in his breast pocket: written by Merry, and addressed to Frodo.
5. "A scene I wish we'd gotten of them"
See above. But also, I'd like to see all of the hobbits catching Bilbo up on their adventures just after the Council! I imagine they'd have lots of opportunities, across those months they waited for the scouts' return, to hole themselves up in Bilbo's room and compare notes so Frodo could get things written down. Just think of the laughter when they finally get around to Old Man Willow!
"'Gnaw it down!'" cries Merry, nearly doubled over laughing. "With your teeth?!"
Sam looks a bit sheepish, but stalwart. "Yes, sir, if there weren't no other option. At any rate, I wasn't going to let any gnarled old tree do in you and Mister Pippin not a day's jaunt from the Shire, and that's a fact."
Merry sits back, still chortling, and raises his pipe to his lips. "Well, that is good of you, Samwise. I'm glad it didn't come to that, for all of our sakes. You'd still be picking splinters out of your teeth today!" He shakes his head. "But it's a comfort that someone had the good sense not to listen to that old tree and his talk of sleep."
"I tried to wake myself up!" Frodo cries defensively, but he's smiling.
"Yes, and got an early bath out of it, with your clothes on!" Pippin interrupts.
All five hobbits erupt in laughter, Bilbo most of all, before they collect themselves and the conversation goes on—but no one even tries to refute Merry's praise of Sam. Secretly, Sam is preening like a barn rooster.
"Well, it was good of him to say it. I do have good sense. Strange folk, these Bucklanders, but if they're all half as polite as Mister Merry here, then I daresay they might not be half bad after all, queerness or no."
FRIENDSHIP ASK GAME!

'Digging your fingers into fresh dirt' for Rhiona and Loghain? :3
Here's some pre-canon courtship fluff for you! :D I've been thinking of these two idiots a lot lately. Have something cute!
@dadrunkwriting
The sun shines sweetly down upon Rhiona's shoulders in the castle gardens. It's a bright spring day and the world smells of green, and Loghain carries a bucket of gardening supplies beside her as they walk. A little way behind them, her mother Eleanor, their chaperone, strolls slowly, taking in the colorful sprays of flowers around them.
"When did you start gardening, Ree? Was this a childhood hobby?"
"No, it wasn't. I was more interested in tromping around in my mother's gardens than tending them." She laughs at the memory. "Once, when I was nine, she and I had a row and so I went out into the garden and angrily 'played' in the dirt. I was gone for three hours. No one could find me--because I was hiding in the roses, afraid of what would happen when she saw," Rhiona confides.
He chuckles fondly, a rich sound that never fails to brighten her day. "When I was a boy I wished for my mother to have something so grand. She never had much care for a flower garden, but every week my father would buy her a bouquet in town, and on those days her smile rivaled the sun in its brightness."
They arrive at her garden, a section off the main paths nestled in the shade of a nearby weeping willow tree, and set up camp. A flat of seedlings in small paper pots waits for them. Loghain passes her a trowel and together they kneel down before the upturned earth.
"What are we planting today?" He digs his fingers into the earth at Rhiona's direction. It's beautiful. He's beautiful, his hair pulled into a low tail, face open and relaxed in the sun. Loghain smiles, his eyes crinkling with it, and all is right in Rhiona's world.
Smiling in return, Rhiona slips her hands into the dirt, still cold but brimming with promise. "Delphinium. They're beautiful. Here, why don't you--yes, exactly that."
They work side by side, digging in holes and filling them again with the seedlings. It's pleasant, domestic.
"Are these your favorite?" Loghain asks after a while.
Rhiona looks up at him. He's got dirt streaks upon his cheek, and his hands are brown with soft earth up past his wrists. It's delightful and makes her long for next summer and their wedding. "No, but they're close," she murmurs. "My favorites are daffodils. Look." She points to a nearby flower bed filled with tiny unfurling plants. "In a couple of weeks, we'll see a whole plot of them right here in the middle."
He hums and plants another seedling. "Daffodils are beautiful," he agrees. "I'd never gardened before the war, and after we were busy re-establishing the kingdom. It wasn't until after I married my late wife that I had any real experience in a garden, and even that was limited. I am not skilled in the activity, and I'm afraid you may discover my lack of experience in this arena evidenced in your flower bed here."
Her stomach flip-flops, as it is wont to do at the mention of Teyrna Celia. "I'd love to see her gardens at Gwaren after we marry. Perhaps I can rehabilitate them."
Loghain stops to smile at Rhiona. His hand is warm around her own. "I'd be honored to show you, Ree."

The life of a vampire can be lonely specaly in a big cold castle. But that changed when he met you, you came at his door wounded, bleeding and close to passing out from the bloodloss.
"Excuse me sir but could you please perhaps help me i was atacked by some robbers they took everything and killed my horse" she was swaying on her feet
"Of course" the tall man said "tell me whats your name ?"
"My name is y/n and i came from (your home town)"
"My goodness thats far away please come in then i can take a look at your wounds".
"Thank you" she started to sway even more with eatch step
"Let me carry you, you clearly arn't able to walk up the stairs"
"Thanks sir"
"Please call me jon" The man picked her up And brought her to one of the many rooms.
That was the night he met you changed him forever
The day he lost you was one of the days he lost his happiness.
You had gone to the market that day to get food for dinner when there was an atack and got slain in the battle it was absolutly horible, you were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Jon was absolutly heart broken about the news he got, the men who had killed you left the town and flet, he felt anger to those men and went in search. When jon found them he kiled the men he took plesure in their screams of agony as they lay dying on the pavement of the coblestone road. After that he swore to never kill anyone ever again simply because you would have wanted that.
That was 150 years ago.
2021
Jon had viseted your grave many times after your death, he took care of the plants and brought new flowers everytime the old once had died. "Oh i miss you so mutch my darling, no words can say how mutch i miss you, i just wish that i was there to protect you" he brushed his hand over the beautyfull headstone engraved with your name and a tiny little portrait.
Jon had a broach that was decorated with locks of your hair (that was costume to do back in the day when people were mourning a loved one) he had it pinned on he his white blouse just above his heart, jon dint look out of place of course he stil lived in the old castle and somethimes enjoyed to wear his old outfit but he needed to get with the times he had no Idea what those little boxes were that people used what were they called again? Phones or something.... nevermind he thought
"Thill next time my dear y/n"
He stood up And left your grave, When jon walked out of the cemetery he walked right trough the park, he was looking around at people relaxing and playing until his eyes fell on a woman who sat under a big willow tree that was near the lake, she wore a long back summer dress had (your color and lenght hair) next to her lay a summer hat and in her lap was a sketch book.
Jon took a second good look at her he wasn't dreaming the woman looked exactly like you , it was rude to stare he knew that but he just could't take his eyes off you, he was thinking should i aproace her or not? He srugged and went to her. The woman looked up at the sound of somone walking up to her.
"Hello miss i saw you sitting all alone drawing and i was wondering if you would mind me sitting here with you"
"Oh not at all please sit down"
"Thank you, tell me what are you drawing?"
"I saw a few birds sitting in the tree and i got some insperation to draw them "
"May i see it?"
"Sure" she handed him the book
"It looks amazing mind if i look through the book?"
"Not at all go ahead"
"My my you quite got the talent miss?"
"Oh y/n y/l/n" she held out her hand
"Jon, jon pertwee" he shook her hand
"Nice to meet you jon, tell me have we met before? You look familiar".
"Umm no? I don't think so" of course he knew that they met before you had the exact same name as his wife.
"Oh what a shame I really could have sworn i have seen you before"
"Its fine, tell me dear are you perhaps intresed in taking a walk? "
"Sure why not" y/n put her stuff in a bag and hung it over her shoulder and put the hat on her head.
Jon grabed her arm and leaded the way "tell me y/n What do you do in your daily life?"
"Wel i have a job that im working for and some studdys inbetween"
"Ah i see, what about hobbies?"
"Oh i enjoy drawing in my free time and love music"
"Oh lovely, i had a wife who enjoyed the same hobbies as you"
"Had?"
"Yes unfortanetly she past away some years ago"
"Im sorry to hear that, i bet that the time she spent with you were some of her best"
"Yeah i hope so she was the light of my life, Anyway miss y/n would you like to come with me i really Would love to hear more about you and see more of your art"
"Sure why not " y/n started to pack her things,
Y/n wasn't afraid of him for some reason the felt save with him "so tell me where do you live jon?"
"Wel do you know the old land house up on the Hill outside of town?
"Oh yes i do, sinds a young age i felt drawn to the place even if i have never been inside there"
"Do you have the feeling that its familiar to you in one way ?"
"Now you say so yes i do, i had a dream once that i was inside the house reading infront of the fireplace and then a pair of arms wraped around me and huged me close it was very comforting"
"Hmm strange oh wel, Ah it looks like we are here" Jon opend the door and let her in
Y/n gasped it was exactly like her dream a coutch infront of the fireplace a rug lay on the floor embroidery with flowers, red curtans and beautyfull paintings, what caught her eye was one particular painting wich hangs next to the window, it was one painting of a woman in a victorian dress her hair fell in curly locks over her shoulder and her eyes looked at her.
"She looks just like me"
"That was my wife her name was (your full name) she was the love of my life until she got killed by some robbers"
"When did she die?"
Jon sighed and looked down sadly "she died (your birthdate) in 1871"
Y/n looked at him in shock "hold on somthing is not adding up here, you said she died in 1871 but its now 2021 thats 150 years ago????, what are you?!"
Jon looked up in embaresment "wel the true is that im a vampire i have been alive for over 300 years now"
Y/n was backing away but stoped in her tracks when she got an other vision "Oh my god!"
"Whats wrong? "
"I saw her again and you were there, you took her in she was wounded you took care of her"
"Y/n do you believe in recarnation?"
"Yes"
"When were you born?"
"(Your birthdate) why"
"Because its the exact same month and day that she died but its more than 100 years apart"
"It al makes sens now the visions, the feeling to be drawn to this place seing you in some of my dreams but with blury face my goodness"
"Y/n i hope its not weird but i would love to get to know you better if you don't mind that "
"No of course i wouldn't mind i just need time" she softly smiled
"Are you feeling scared?"
"No not at all i feel really save so save i have never been in my entire life"
"Come with me i want to show you something" jon softly grabed her hand and took her upstairs, they both stoped at a door "this was my wife her bedroom before we got married, i havn't been in here for a long time". He opened the door and they both were greated by a big canopy bed made up with silk (favorite color) sheets
"You can stay here as long as you like y/n, in the closet are some of her dresses they might fit you"
"Thanks jon, is it alright if i look around?"
"Sure dear go ahead, dinner wil be ready in an hour"
"Alright thanks " she smiled once jon was gone y/n started to look around, she aproched the wooden closet that stood against the wall once she opend it She was greated by dresses in all kind of difrent colors and materials " oh my gosh" she wispered she took some of them out the closet
but what was weird to her is that the clothes din't add up with the time line because there were some clothes from the 1880s 1890s and 1900s thill 1910s in there "hmm thats weird oh wel never mind a dress is a dress after all" she took a dress from the late 1880s and a pair of shoes and started to undress
Y/n was suprised with how well it fitted the corset wasn't to tight and she could move freely "it must be faith" she giggled "now lets see what els there is to find"
Y/n aproched the desk that stood in the corner of the room, she sat down in the chair and opend one of the drawers and was greated by art suplise "oh wow" she opend an other one and in there wer some hard cover books y/n grabed one and opend it, it was a portrait of jon then y/n remembered a dream she had once but the thing is that it wasn't a dream but a memory she sat in the garden sketching jon while he sat in the shadows reading a book.
"I really am the rencarnation, my love" she wispered
An hour went by and y/n went down stairs for dinner
"Ah my dear do you Enjoy your new room?"
"Oh its absolutly perfect i love it thank you"
"Its alright dear, now come on lets get dinner i bet that you are starving"
"Jon i got a question"
"Yes"
"What if im in deed a rencarnation of your late wife what then?"
"Then i wil make you imortal so that we could live together forever"
She looked at him '"jon c.. can i kiss you?"
"Of course"
Y/n stood on her tiptoes and placed her lips on his, memories from her past life came back to her "Oh my God i remember everything"
"I thought you died A long long time ago" jon cried softly
"I did but i got a second chance and i promice that this time it Wil be forever"
"Glad to know that dear" he huged her "now comeone lets have dinner"
And both of them knew now that no matter what they will be there for echoter the end
I hope you enjoyed reading 😊

Snowy Escape Musings
Just some thoughts on the new expansion AND the new free updates. Just gotta get it out somewhere! Under the cut so as not to bother anyone with a potentially long post of my personal opinions haha.
I am so excited to be able to have rental/vacation lots on non vacation worlds! While I am sad that you can’t live in Selvadorada I am at least USED to that since in both TS2 and TS3 you couldn’t live in vacation worlds without mods (although sims 4 is supposed to IMPROVE upon these features but I digress). I can’t wait for bed and breakfasts in Windenburg and tropical resorts in Sulani!
I’m not a very good builder but it is awesome that you can do split levels purely for the awesome builds I know are going to come from the community. Can’t wait to download them!
Sentiments seem interesting. I’ve seen a lot about how they have the potential to be rendered completely useless due to the fact that the buffs they give can be easily overtaken by other buffs. In the stream this sim had a rage buff from being near an enemy with a +1 and was EASILY negated by all the energetic buffs he had from various things. I hope modders might be able to adjust it and make it more meaningful and impactful. Otherwise it’s a neat idea. Definitely not what we needed (i.e. overhauling the already bland and useless trait, whim, and relationship system OR adding a decent memory system) but cool nonetheless.
Lifestyles are...eh. I miss hobbies from sims 2. There really don’t seem to be very many lifestyles and frankly they just seem like what the traits SHOULD be (i.e. add buffs, make certain tasks easier and others more difficult, affect needs or skill gains). Like we already have an active, romantic, outdoorsy, etc. trait that should have already been doing what the lifestyles are now going to do so...falls flat for me. And there just aren’t enough to make your sims unique especially considering how shallow and basic they are. I would have preferred that they just fix the traits and add a hobbies/interests system like sims 2 had. Oh and fixed the whims that they seem to just be avoiding lol.
The world itself looks visually great. I like the addition of unique cultural things that also add some gameplay (can you take your shoes off in any world? Please say yes. I don’t know anybody here in the US who keeps their shoes on indoors). The build/buy looks awesome. CAS looks awesome. Sims 4 is nothing if not a pretty game. The mascot is pretty cute. I love the addition of actual hiking and being able to go as a group and autonomously take pictures (do they actually save anywhere?). The festivals seem alright. I don’t mind the festivals in City Living IN THEORY but in practice I do them once with each new family and then never go again because....why? They are also buggy and not worth the effort. We’ll see how these go.
The new activities are, again, cool. The hot pot at the kotatsu (I believe that’s right) is awesome. The snow sports are very cool (but too bad you can’t just go sledding in other worlds). I already love the little Simmies that you can collect as collectables ALWAYS add more gameplay and fun to sims. Again hiking looks fun but I really hope it applies to Granite Falls because...that would make sense there’s literally no reason why you shouldn’t be able to really hike in that world. Festivals I talked about above along with Yamachan. Onsen/hot springs are also pretty nice but we’ll see how much it really does for your sims that makes it better than just a hot tub or sauna. Am I missing any gameplay? Oh yea, mountain climbing.
Here’s the thing...I’m not sold on the mountain climbing. It seems boring to me. You’re just having sims climb different levels and making sure their needs don’t decay too much. Then you get to the top and it’s empty. Yes you can build on there but is it really worth that effort to go back up afterwards? And the little cave you can explore is pointless to me. What happened to the what they did for basegame in Willow Creek and Oasis Springs where going in those holes (tree or mine) actually took you somewhere? Either way I don’t think I’ll be risking my sims life for mountain climbing in this pack.
All those deco buildings that you can’t do anything with! So boring. So lifeless. Why are they so afraid of rabbit holes? Yes we can build our own retail stores but why should I have to use my empty lots on putting down a bunch of stores (unless I want to) when they could just include rabbit holes on those deco buildings? Seriously they could do this in every world like sims 3 (yes I know you put those on lots but you could also really customize worlds in that game so it’s different to me). Grocery store, gardening shop, clothes shop, etc. Plopsy has a randomized item list so I don’t see why they couldn’t also do that with these hypothetical rabbit holes too (different seeds, flowers, fresh produce, etc). Enough with all those boring swag stalls all over the place. Food stalls can stay. And anyway, I really miss souvenirs from sims 2/sims 3 can they please bring that back?!?
And you can’t use the train?!?! So lame. Seriously just...why focus on it so much in the trailer. That whole welcome wagon at the train station was just scripted junk. AND NO SIMSTAGRAM updates which stinks. Cute editing but would have been nice to make it a feature. Seriously if modders can (and do) add their own useable social media apps why can’t the sims just add more to the one they already have? They just teased us (probably unintentionally cause they just seem so oblivious sometimes).
Uniforms are cute but I really wish they added back private schools like the other games. The world specific addons really bother me because all these packs lately just seem to only be tied to whatever new world got added and it literally does nothing to build on basegame and if I’m not in that world I honestly forget what I even bought the packs for. I’m absolutely all for adding special cultural and world specific things in packs but they could AT LEAST also add other gameplay things that affect just basic gameplay. Make it worth the $40.
This was super long but I have a lot of feelings about sims 4 expansions as we’ve been through a lot of them and are usually left wanting. I am NOT looking forward to these updates breaking my mods but I will buy the pack because there are things about it I think I’ll really enjoy. Worth $40 though? Eh I don’t think so but that’s EA for you. If you actually read this thanks!
#sims 4#ts4#the sims 4#sims 4 snowy escape#ranting and rambling#i see good and bad#i dont want to seem like im complaining but tbh when you had features in past sims games that you just dont have in the newest one#i think you have a right to complain

“Over My Head” Dragon Violet and Jin AU
I got this idea for a small fic working with my best friend who drew my OC Violet as a dragon and her canon partner Jin Bubaigawara in My Hero Academia. She has a flower quirk so we made her a plant based dragon.
The wind in my fur was bright and happy as I picked my flowers in the field I was flying near. I had been working on a new flower crown since I loved putting them in my fur. It was a little bit lonely since most of my family had gone their own. I missed seeing my family everyday but I loved working with my flowers. My dad had taught me everything that I knew about flowers. I learned a lot through viewing him growing up. I was the only sibling that was gifted with different wings like my dad so my siblings picked on me a lot for that. I was sort of glad that they were gone because they would never leave me alone when they lived with me. Flowers spoke to me and they were something so unique and beautiful about them. “Your mood is like a circus wheel, changing all the time sometimes I can’t help but feel that I’m wasting all of my time. Your mood is like a circus you’re changing all of the time. Sometimes I can’t help but feel like I’m wasting all of my time.” I didn’t even realize how loud I was singing to myself until I heard the snap of a twig behind me and I turned to see a two headed dragon looking back at me. “Oh I’m sorry that I’ve disturbed you. I didn’t even realize that I was singing that loud.” I apologized but I couldn’t help but feel this pull towards the other dragon. “You didn't. I was just flying around and I heard this beautiful voice. What were you singing?” He asked me and I blushed a bright pink looking down at my claws with a nervous smile on my face. “It’s a song that my mom used to sing to me before my family all went their separate ways. She told me that it was called Over My Head. I don’t know where she learned it from but she used to sing to me all the time when I was younger.” He looked at me, one of his heads cocked to the side as if he was a little bit confused about what he was looking at. “Your wings are different from everybody else’s. They kind of look like butterfly’s wings.” I laughed a little bit at my new comrad. “I have my dad’s wings, they were butterfly wings before he passed away. He was who I learned about flowers from. A lot of plant dragons have butterfly wings instead of regular ones. They are just more delicate, that's all really.” I explained how my wings looked different compared to his and one of the heads looked intently at me. I couldn’t help but feel drawn to this dragon in front of me like I had known him my entire life.
“You know a lot about flowers? Is this your garden?” He asked me and I smiled softly, shaking my head at him. “No this isn’t MY garden though I do have one back by my cave. I just like the flowers here, they're really pretty and I needed a break from flying. Would you like to see it?” I asked him and one of the heads, I could tell the one that was usually in charge nodded his head at me. “I should probably introduce myself. I'm Violet.” I stuck out my claw to the dragon and he just smiled at me. “I’m Jin, it’s nice to meet you Violet.” I looked curiously at the other head wondering if he had a name or not. “What are you looking at?!” I flinched a little bit looking back at my new friend and Jin just sighed a little bit. “I have a split personality disorder, he is the other part of me. I can keep him in check though no need to worry about that!!” I laughed a little bit at my new friend and I could see that he wanted to tuck a piece of fur behind my ear. “I have aspergers. It means for me that I distance myself from others sometimes but once I get passionate about something I start to obsess about it. You seem a very kind individual.” He smiled softly at me picking up a flower and adding it to my crown. “Do you want to lead me to your garden?” I nodded my head going to the edge of the cliff and looking off of the waterfall. “Yes I do but can I just enjoy the moment for just a second?” Jin nodded one of his heads and he rested the other one, the split one on top of my head. I looked up at him surprised but smiled a little bit softly. “The view here is really beautiful.” I told him and I saw the small grin on my new friend that I had made. “It really is.” I could tell that he wasn’t looking at the atmosphere around us but instead at me and I blushed a little bit. “Okay, I can lead you to my garden now!! It’s a little bit of a flight so I hope that you like flying.” I told him with a small smile on my face putting my flower crown on a little bit tighter. I took off into the sky and felt the bright wind in my hair and I turned around to look at my newfound friend. He was staring at my wings with both heads and I couldn’t help but laugh a little bit. I flew most of the way without any problems until I heard a loud crashing sound and looked down to see Jin had accidentally ran into a tree.
“Are you okay?! That was a really loud crash!!” I flew down to swoop him and he looked at me with a starstruck expression on his face. “I think I’m seeing an angel…” I looked at my new friend with a surprised expression on my face. “I don’t think that I’m an angel really.” He wrapped his tail around mine with a small smile on his face. “Well you’re an angel to me Doll. Why are you so nice to me?” He asked me and I pushed a lock of fur behind my ear. “I feel this connection with you. I don’t really know if I can explain it really well but you’re different. I’m different too, maybe we can be different together?” I asked him and the second head nuzzled my neck gently. “You smell like flowers and sunshine.” The second head told me and I laughed a little bit at him with a small smile on my face. “It’s probably because I spend a lot of time amongst the flowers. Are you sure that you didn’t hit your head or something?” I thumbed along his scales gently and heard a loud rumbling sound almost like a purr. I smiled softly. There weren't a lot of dragons that had a purr spot but it seemed that both me and Jin were those types of dragons. His scales were soft and gentle to the touch and I instantly fell in love with the sound of his purring. “Do you want to continue to fly with me? We can hold claws?” I offered with a bright pink blush on my cheeks and he laughed at me a little. “Of course we can hold claws.” He indulged me by offering me a claw up off the ground and I flew up with him to where my cave and my garden was surrounded by woods. “You live here all by yourself?” He asked me and I nodded my head with a sad smile on my face fixing my fur a little bit on my head. “I used to live here with my entire family, that’s why the cave was so big. I had four siblings so it got really rowdy and we all had our own secluded section of the house. But my mom moved all my siblings away. Last time I checked everyone had mates to settle down with. I couldn’t ever find somebody compatible. My older sister called me unmatable growing up. Said that I focused too much on my hobbies and that they would never find somebody that would want to be with me.” Jin rested the second head on mine as he started grooming my fur and making it straighter with his tongue and claws. “Was your section of the cave where the garden is?” I nodded my head leading him to the back of the cave where there was a secret exit to my garden where I kept my flowers, antidotes for diseases, vegetables and a giant willow tree that my dad planted with me when he was still alive. “This is my secret base. I keep everything that I need right here and I make antidotes for diseases that I sell as well so that I can keep an income going. I will also sell my flower crowns.” Jin smiled softly at me wrapping his claws around me. “Do you think we might be mates Bumblebee?” I looked up at him a little bit confused by the nickname until I saw that his claws had pollen on them. “I really do think that we’ll be mates. But only time will tell but I can tell you that I can get used to this.” When I closed my eyes I could see a future ahead of me with a little dragon running around who obviously was adopted.

All According to Plan
So @syndellwins requested “Tenzou x Reader AU, where Kakashi demands Tenzou shows up to his wedding to Obito with a date or he'll tell something embarrassing about Tenzou at the party. So Tenzou decides to ask a co-worker that's a bit cranky and obs she has a huge crush on him. She reluctantly says yes (she doesn't wanna feel used but also wants to meet Tenzou outside the office) and Tenzou notices that weekend (yeah, a long ass party weekend) that's she is actually nice ?? And she kisses him back when they have to pretend and hey, she's actually turning him on and everything?”
It’s not precisely what you ordered but, like, 5888 words + so many hours of my life = please love this anyway? XD
Under the cut or also on AO3!
His best friend was a prick. Tenzou knew that already, of course. He never missed an opportunity to tell Kakashi that he was a giant prick. Kakashi usually snapped back with a crass comment about his genitalia and Tenzou honestly wished that he could solve his problem with that simple, familiar argument. This time, however, Kakashi was being a prick for his own good and that complicated things. It was harder to stay mad when he knew that his best friend was only worried for him. Still, threatening to reveal all of Tenzou’s embarrassing secrets to the general public if he showed up to Kakashi’s wedding without a date was going just a little too far.
That was how he came to be standing outside of your cubicle, nervously wiping damp palms on his thighs before knocking to catch your attention. You looked up and felt your heart skip a beat. Despite your massive secret crush on this man the two of you didn’t talk very often. You wondered what he could possibly need from you. He worked for a different department after all. Maybe some of the paperwork you had sent over was incomplete?
“Ah, good afternoon Y/N,” Tenzou greeted you in that smooth voice of his. You tried hard to hide the shiver that raced down your spine.
“Good afternoon,” you said back. “How can I help you?” You were intrigued to see him fluster and tug at the cuffs of his jacket, obviously anxious about something.
“I wanted to ask a favor. It’s – ah – it’s just m-my friend is getting married in a couple of weeks and he, er, threatened me if I didn’t bring a date. So I was wondering-” Tenzou pulled at his shirt collar “-if you might come with me and pretend to be my girlfriend? Oh god I know this is really awkward to ask out of nowhere and I’m so sorry. I didn’t know who else to ask!”
You forced yourself to keep breathing as his question settled over you. Pretend to be the girlfriend of the man who you’d be staring dreamily at for almost a year now? Yes please! Instead of throwing yourself in to his arms the way you wanted to you managed to make a thoughtful expression.
“The good old fake date, huh?” You asked. “Just for the one night?” It wouldn’t feel great to part ways at the end but you had hopes that maybe you could interest him in a real first date after all was said and done. Might as well put the idea in his head now. Tenzou sighed in obvious relief and grinned sheepishly, his shoulders relaxing and his entire body easing out of the tense stance he had been in.
“It’s actually more of a weekend party. Kakashi and his fiancé are…” he rolled his eyes. “Well I’m glad they make each other happy because they seem to get a kick out of making everyone else miserable.”
You laughed because you could imagine that. Kakashi used to work here as well before his division expanded and got their own building. You hadn’t had much contact with him but his reputation as a hard man to work with was nearly legend. He was still used as a funny horror story to make any new hires feel more comfortable around the place. You could only imagine the sort of person who would be able to put up with him.
Tenzou seemed so adorably happy that you agreed to his plan that it was hard not to stand up and pinch those smiling cheeks. He let you know all the details of where, when, dress code, and the names of people you would most likely wish to avoid. You committed it all to memory and chatted with him until he mentioned his lunch break was almost over. You waved him off towards the elevators, waiting until he was fully out of sight before pumping both fists in the air and giving vent to a muted noise of excitement. The coworker in the cubicle next to yours poked her head around the divider to give you a knowing look and a wink. You only laughed. This was going to be amazing. You could just feel it.
Just a little over two weeks later Tenzou found himself on your doorstep, dressed to the nines and incredibly nervous as he knocked three times. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was nervous about, though. The two of you had always gotten along well and he didn’t foresee any difficulty in pulling the wool over Kakashi’s eyes. He would introduce you as his girlfriend at the wedding, mention that things were still fairly new between you, and then sadly say that things just didn’t work out a few weeks later. It was an easy deception and it would hopefully get Kakashi off his back for at least a couple more months. Yet still he found himself a little anxious and he couldn’t pin down the reason.
When you opened the door he had to struggle to keep his jaw in place as he saw the green silk delicacy you had wrapped yourself in. You had picked this dress with him in mind and, judging by his reaction, it had been worth the three hour debacle in the store. You stayed silent and didn’t bother to hide your pleased expression as his eyes slowly moved down and back up your body.
“Uh, hi,” he murmured in a distracted manner. You chuckled. “Ready to go?”
“I’ve been ready for you for a while.” You would never admit how long it took to practice saying that with the perfect mix of innocence and sultry suggestion. It worked though; you heard Tenzou clearing his throat gruffly as you passed him.
He helped you in to the car and hurried around to hop in to the driver’s side. The wedding was being held just out of town, only an hour or so drive from your place, and conversation filled the car the whole way there. Tenzou was so easy to talk to and he was interested in so many different things. You were happily surprised to discover that his favorite hobby was gardening and you were still talking about which plants both of you were growing when you pulled in to the venue.
The wedding was being held on the edge of a lake in the exact spot that Kakashi and his fiancé had first met each other, coincidentally at someone else’s wedding. You looped your arm through Tenzou’s as he led you to your seat, noting some heads turning to watch the pair of you walk by. You discreetly asked for names and made note of which people to really play up the affection around. You did agree to try and pull one over on his friends, after all.
The ceremony was beautiful. You found yourself crying as Kakashi traded vows with his husband, a soft adoring light in his eyes that you had never would have thought possible. You had always known him as a lazy, snarky ass. But the way he looked at Obito had you accepting a handkerchief from Tenzou. Whoever this Obito guy was he had to be some kind of man to get someone like Kakashi to settle down.
After the ceremony, as everyone waited for the couple to take their wedding photos before the dinner, you and Tenzou escaped in to the trees surrounding the lake. The two of you hid in the natural shield of a sizable Weeping Willow, giggling at how childlike it was to run away from the other guests.
“So if Kakashi is your best friend, how come you’re not in the wedding party?” you asked, hoping it wouldn’t ruin the mood. Far from seeming offended, Tenzou chuckled.
“They only wanted one groomsman each,” he explained, “and Gai challenged me for the right to stand up with Kakashi. It meant more to him than it did to me so I didn’t really put up much of a fight. As long as all of my friends are happy at the end of the day then so am I.” You couldn’t help the warm smile on your face.
“You’re a good man, Tenzou,” you told him. He blushed and rubbed his head awkwardly.
“Not really, I guess I just don’t feel a need to be in the spotlight.”
You shook your head at his adorable modesty and rested one hand on his arm. “No, you are a good man. I’ve never known someone as selfless and caring as you. Kakashi is lucky to have you as a friend. I’m lucky to have met you.”
His blush deepened and he tried to laugh it off, changing the subject. This time you let him. The biggest victory in that short conversation, however, was that you noticed he had allowed you to come so close that your bodies were nearly pressed together and he hadn’t asked you to step away yet. There was no one here to fool right now so technically you had no excuse for such forward behavior. You felt your hopes rise just a little bit higher that this event could end with you talking him in to a real date.
The two of you continued to chat and make each other laugh until your privacy was forcibly invaded without warning. Just as Tenzou said something so adorably cute that you couldn’t resist leaning in just a little farther, a figure in the corner of your eye parted the long trailing leaves of the tree that made up your little hide-away. You looked over to find a young woman with curly black hair and legs that went on for days. Her striking red eyes carefully took in the sight of how close you were standing and a soft smirk appeared on her painted lips.
“My, my, Tenzou,” she said in a smoky voice. “What have we here? I thought I saw you with a little something on your arm when you came in. I’m glad to see that I wasn’t mistaken.” She carefully picked her way over to you, heeled shoes sinking in the grass with every step.
“Kurenai, good to see you. This is my date; Y/N this is Kurenai. She went to the same high school that Kakashi and I used to attend.” Tenzou sounded relaxed and at ease but you could feel the tension in his body as your joint deception was put to its first test. You squeezed his bicep surreptitiously in the hope that it would comfort him.
You and Kurenai traded greetings and pleasantries, making small talk about what a lovely day it was for a wedding and how heart-warming the ceremony had been.
“Raidou said he thought he saw you sneak off over here and I volunteered to come get you two,” Kurenai said after a few minutes. “Kakashi and Obito will be back soon. All of the guests are moving in to the hall to find their seats.”
“Oh, we should go then.” Tenzou looked down at you and you saw the exact moment he realized just how intimate your position was. His wide almond eyes blinked at you in surprise and he felt a strange urge to send Kurenai away so you wouldn’t have to move.
“Certainly,” you agreed, inwardly smiling at his stunned expression. “I’m famished and I can’t wait to hear the speeches.”
“I think once you hear Gai give a speech you’ll change your mind on that one,” Kurenai warned you. “When Kakashi made Gai his Best Man I don’t think he remember that he would have to give a speech!”
Tenzou groaned and you looked back and forth between them, confused. He led you away as they both regaled you with the horror stories of their friend Might Gai. Apparently he had a strange obsession with what he called the ‘Springtime of Youth’ and had passed the line over to fanatical a long time ago when it came to physical fitness. You laughed as Kurenai described the epic battle it had taken to convince Gai he was not allowed to wear a green suit to the wedding and the tears which had followed after.
A little horrified but also a lot intrigued, you and Tenzou followed Kurenai out of the tree’s privacy and towards the beautiful hall across the field. You couldn’t help but glance around at the scenery and marvel that it was just such a perfect place to fall in love.
As it turned out, Kurenai was not seated at the same table as you so she waved goodbye and made her way towards a man with a beard and an unlit cigarette between his lips. Tenzou checked out the seating chart then you walked with him towards a table that only had two empty seats left and carefully looked around at the curious faces looking back at you. Some of them were faces Tenzou had pointed out to you earlier, before the ceremony, and others were new. One of them was quite obviously trying to resist looking at your chest while innocently adjusting herself in her seat.
The staring one introduced herself an Anko and you recognized the name as one of the people Tenzou had said you might wish to avoid. When your attention moved on to someone else you noticed her eyes returning to your breasts. You ignored it. The others introduced themselves as Raidou, Genma, and Konan. As opposed to you, Konan seemed to take issue with Anko’s need to stare at your goods. She hit the purple haired woman none too gently on the arm and they had a quick hissed argument that ended in a sweet peck on the lips. You shrugged and fell in to conversation with the two men. Genma’s date had apparently had a work emergency at the last minute and Raidou, when asked, admitted to having just gotten out of a bad relationship. To distract themselves from their own woes they took childish delight in interrogating you and Tenzou instead.
Tenzou was relieved when the speeches started soon after. Kakashi was snarky, Obito was snarkier, and despite their best efforts Tenzou and Kurenai had not even come close to preparing you for Gai. The man actually broke down sobbing yet never missed a single word of his speech and no one in the room seemed to think this was out of the ordinary. By the end you felt as though there should be spontaneous fireworks and sunsets going off behind him. Instead he received a polite smattering of applause and collective sigh of relief as he sat back down so the other Best Man could speak.
Once dinner was finished the dancing began. You watched with a great deal of amusement as Gai flung himself on to the dancefloor first thing, overflowing with enthusiasm. He had taken off his jacket to reveal the vest underneath – which was colored a green so bright your eyes watered just looking at it.
“Would you like to dance?” Tenzou asked politely. You could tell he didn’t really want to and you could definitely understand that. Dancing to slow songs was okay; you didn’t need much coordination to hold on to someone and sway in a repetitive circle. Dancing to the faster songs though, that required a bit more skill than your two left feet could handle.
“I think if I tried I might end up stepping on every toe on the floor!” You joked. “Even the people who aren’t up and dancing!”
You felt a flicker of accomplishment when Tenzou threw back his head and laughed. He had such an amazing smile and you cherished every single time that he smiled because of you.
“I will second that,” he admitted after he managed to calm down.
Instead of dancing right away he offered to bring over some drinks for the two of you. You spent the first bit of the party laughing at all the horrible moves you saw, pointing them out to each other and sometimes trying to do bad imitations in your seats. After a while Kurenai and the bearded man she had sat with at dinner came over to join you. He was still mouthing an unlit cigarette while he introduced himself as Asuma.
“We thought we’d come over and see why the two of you were being so anti-social,” Kurenai said as she delicately perched herself on the chair beside you. Asuma flopped down next to her with little thought for grace.
“We’re not being anti-social,” you protested mildly. “We’re being safety conscious.”
“Yeah we’re saving you all from broken toes.” Tenzou snickered behind his hair as Asuma guffawed.
“I’ve seen you dance, Tenzou, I believe it!” The cigarette bounced as Asuma spoke. “So, where did the two of you meet?”
“At work,” You said. After all, all good lies have a kernel of truth to them. “Kakashi used to work with us too until his department moved to the new building.”
You and Tenzou spun a story together that you had prepared ahead of time about how you chatted whenever you ran in to each other at work – not untrue – and how he had eventually asked you out – technically also not untrue. Really the only outright lie was that this was the fifth date. Tenzou described your first date when they asked, a romantic night on the boardwalk eating ice cream and watching the stars come out. As you listened to his figments you wished that really had been your first date; it sounded lovely. You wondered if he had ever gone on that date with anyone before or if he thought it up on the spot because it suited the two of you.
Tenzou saw the longing look in your eye as you listened to him babble. He was only trying to come up with something plausible but you seemed to like the same things he did. He had always wanted to go on a quiet calm date like that and you seemed as if you would appreciate it. But by the way you were watching him he realized he wanted to find out. He wanted to take you down to the boardwalk, buy ice cream, and wander along the water’s edge while the two of you talked about whatever crossed your minds.
Just as Kurenai finished cooing over how cute the two of you apparently were, the music changed. A slower tempo filled the room and singles all around the dance floor hurried to get out of the way as couples joined hands for the first slow dance of the night. Tenzou looked at you with a smile.
“Would you like to dance now?” he asked. You laughed.
“I think this might be safe, yes.”
You took his hand and let him lead you to the closest free patch of floor, ignoring the wolf whistle Genma made as you passed him going back to his seat for a break. The rest of the party seemed to fall away as Tenzou wrapped one arm around your waist, his other hand seeking one of yours. It seemed he had a little bit more skill with this than you. All of your dancing skill could be summed up in three words: high school dances. Tenzou seemed to actually have some steps to follow. You tried your best to keep up with his rhythm, distracted as you were by the smile on his handsome face.
“I’m having a really good time,” he said after the first chorus had gone by.
“Me too,” you replied. He shook his head.
“No I mean…I’m having a really good time. More fun than I thought I would. I’m really glad I asked you here tonight, Y/N.”
You flushed prettily and tried to duck your head but you couldn’t seem to take your eyes off of his. He looked so earnest and you felt as if you were falling in love for the first time all over again. Tenzou held you just a little bit tighter, bringing you just a little bit closer to him. You fought not to swoon.
“Y/N…I don’t suppose…” he trailed off, color rising on his cheeks.
You held your breath. This was it! He was going to ask you out on a real date! You had been hoping for this since the moment he had asked you to be a part of this plan and you couldn’t believe that it was really, finally happening. Was his face closer to yours? It was! He was leaning in, trying to find the words but just as obviously distracted.
“Kohai!” The spell was broken by an unapologetically gleeful voice to your left. Both of you snapped your heads around to see Kakashi in the arms of his dark-haired husband. Obito was grinning, baring his teeth in a vicious manner that said he knew just what they had interrupted.
“I see Kakashi doesn’t have to make good on any threats against your dignity, Tenzou,” Obito teased.
“A pity.” Kakashi twirled his husband in a whimsical circle. “I had some really good stories lined up for everyone to hear. When you said you had a girlfriend I almost didn’t believe you!”
“Kakashi!” Tenzou groaned, his head falling back in exasperation. You bit the inside of your cheek. So close!
“What? It’s been such a loooong time for you! So, Y/N was it? I don’t suppose you’d like to hear some stories about my dear little kohai?” Kakashi leered and Tenzou growled at him.
“You are at your own wedding!” He protested. “Aren’t you supposed to be having a romantic dance together? Aren’t you supposed to be so wrapped up in each other that you don’t have time to make fun of me? For once!”
The newlyweds laughed in a disturbingly similar way, an edge of malignance hiding just under the surface that made you go back to your thoughts about how perfect these two must be for each other. Neither of them missed a single step in their elegant waltz as they continued to speak.
“Now now Kohai-”
“As you pointed out, it’s our wedding day-”
“Why can’t you let us have a little fun?”
“The couple that slays together, stays together!”
“That was a terrible joke!” Tenzou grumbled. You had to agree.
Kakashi and Obito ignored you both as they continued to dance and cast you evil glances. You and Tenzou looked at each other, silently agreeing to try and dance somewhere else. As soon as there was an opening in the bodies on the floor Tenzou’s feet took you off in the opposite direction, almost casually dancing your way to a different spot. You could hear laughter as you left the other pair behind but they didn’t try to follow, which you were grateful for.
You found yourself surrounded by strangers you hadn’t met yet, none of them paying you the slightest attention as the song went through its final rendition of the chorus. The singer crooned and warbled and Tenzou’s arm around your waist tightened just a little more.
“I am…so sorry,” he told you eventually. “You’ve met Kakashi, you know what he’s like.”
“It’s not like he said anything bad, you know. We could dance back over to them? Maybe hear a story or two?” You giggled at the look of utter betrayal on his face.
“Not you too!”
“Well it’s not like you’re going to tell me any of the embarrassing stories yourself!” you pointed out, laughing. He rolled his eyes.
You could hear him mumbling something to himself under his breath that sounded like a complaint that the song was almost over. And indeed there was only a few more bars of musical outro before the DJ faded a song with a faster tempo, once more flooding the dance floor with enthusiastic party-goers. Tenzou’s chest sighed against you before he stepped back but you noticed that he didn’t release your hand.
“Come on, this way,” he said, pulling you along as he took off. You looked behind you to where Raidou and Genma were currently chatting at the table you had all been sitting at before. Apparently you weren’t going back there. Curious, you caught up and looped your arm around your date’s.
Together you made your way out of the main dance hall and in to one of the side wings. A sign on the wall indicated that you were going in to correct direction to find the bathroom which, while that was good to know, it really wasn’t what you were hoping for. You were glad when Tenzou stopped walking in an empty area where the lighting was dimmed.
“Okay so I was trying to say something earlier before we got interrupted,” Tenzou said, feeling nervousness well up inside him again. He pushed it down though; he wanted to get this out.
“I noticed,” you teased gently. He rubbed the back of his head with his free hand.
“Yeah. Um. Well what I was trying to say was that I’m really glad I asked you to come this weekend. I’ve had a lot of fun and you’re really pretty and this was a good idea and…I’m rambling. Sorry.” You bit your lips to stop yourself from giggling. “Anyway I wanted asked if you would consider, maybe, uh, sometime in the future, possibly, if you might like–”
“I WANNA KNOW WHAT LOVE IIIIIS!”
Both of your heads snapped around for the second time as a scarred face popped around the corner.
“Oh for fuck’s sake Anko!” the man was saying. “That was right in my ear!”
He came farther around the corner and you saw that, indeed, Anko was leaning in to him with one arm around his shoulders and the other waving an unidentified bottle of something – presumably alcohol.
“Why aren’t they –hic– playing that song Iruka? It’s such a good song!” Anko’s voice was loud and slurred, reinforcing the idea that her bottle was filled with something alcoholic. You remembered seeing her drink almost an entire bottle of wine with dinner and wondered how much she had drank since then. The man she was draped over, Iruka, sighed.
“Why isn’t Konan taking care of you?” he lamented.
“I think she passed out in the corner!” Anko said, completely unapologetic for her and her girlfriend’s behavior. You and Tenzou stood frozen as this new pair approached you. Iruka looked up when he saw someone else standing in the hallway.
“Oh thank god! Miss – oh hey Tenzou – Miss could you possibly take Anko in to the bathroom? She needs help but I can’t go in the ladies’ room myself.”
“Nonsense Iruka! You’re such a pretty girl!” Anko snuggled up to her friend and Iruka blushed to the roots of his pulled up hair.
“I let you put me a dress ONE TIME!”
Tenzou’s hand clenched around yours and you looked over just in time to see him deflate and whisper, “Fuck it.” Whatever he had been trying to say, it appeared he had given up on saying it. You swung your eyes around to glare at Anko, lurching with every step and singing a few choice snatches of things she thought should have been on tonight’s play list.
Feeling defeated but slightly vindictive, you took the woman from her poor friend’s arms and led her down the hall where the signs had said to go. Anko looked grateful but you only shook your head at her, making your disappointment obvious.
“Really, Anko, the night isn’t even halfway over yet!” you chided her. She tried to look sheepish but it was lost as you got the door open and she bolted for the nearest toilet.
It took a while before Anko was ready to be helped back out of the bathroom. You walked out to find a disgruntled Tenzou and an anxious Iruka still waiting outside. Iruka took his friend from you and said something about calling her and Konan a cab. Tenzou gave you a suffering look which you returned.
You returned to the party with little hope that Tenzou would ask you out now. Every time it looked as if he were going to he had been interrupted and it seemed as if he had given up on the whole idea. You tried not to let it ruin your night though. You still managed to have fun and make new friends and it wasn’t as if you were never going to see him again. It was just a matter of stepping up your flirting game at work from here on out.
You danced with Tenzou several more times, during almost every slow song except for one where Kakashi snagged you and whispered filthy things in your ear just to watch you go red and then another when Raidou claimed you for a sweet, calm dance. Kurenai and Genma absolutely ruled the dance floor with another girl who you heard someone call Rin. Gai, in his brilliant green vest, danced to every single song the whole night through without even one break. There were invitations to further group events that you were looking forward to accepting. Tenzou had a great group of friends and even if the two of you never happened you couldn’t wait to get to know all of these people better.
By the time the party had started to wind down the two groomsmen were discovered to have slipped away, obviously planning to start their own ‘private celebration’. You and Tenzou headed off to the hotel that had been booked for the wedding when your feet started to hurt so badly you feared you might have blisters. It would only be an hour drive back home but Tenzou had warned you that this would be a full weekend long party. Both Kakashi and Obito had a little too much money. Luckily their favorite thing to spend it on was their friends so they had prepaid for the hotel rooms and the entire weekend was open bar.
The one thing you had talked yourself in to forgetting was that Kakashi had reserved you and Tenzou the same room. With one bed. Of course, he was supposed to think that this was what the two of you would like. And of course this indeed was something you would like. However you weren’t a hundred percent sure if it wasn’t something Tenzou wanted or was even comfortable with. As the two of you approached your room and he took out the hotel key he had been given you felt the first touch of nerves.
“Well, here we are,” Tenzou said, letting the door swing open. Inside was a room more luxurious than your own at home. The massive bed would have drawn your eye even if that wasn’t what was on your mind. It was king sized with three pillows for each side and a gorgeously embroidered red comforter.
“Cozy.” You went for understatement, smiling when Tenzou chuckled a little.
You took turns in the bathroom. Getting ready for bed in silence was a wonderful treat after the booming music and room full of voices that had been beating on your ears all night. Then suddenly you were standing on opposite sides of the bed giving each other awkward, wary looks, both hesitant to make the first move.
“I don’t think I got the chance to warn you but, er, I have a tendency to snuggle in my sleep.” Tenzou was wearing an old green t-shirt with a cartoon tree on it that almost made you squeal. Under the hem peeked out a pair of blue striped boxers. You slid under the covers just to force yourself to stop looking. Why did he always have to be so cute?
“What a horrible thing!” you laughed while he got in the bed as well. “To save me from any awful surprises waking up, maybe we should just start snuggling now. So I can get used to it of course.”
Even in the darkness you could see the deep blush on his cheeks. Which is why you squeaked in surprise when he reached over and laid an arm around your waist, pulling your body flush against his own even more intimately than when you had danced.
“I can’t say I object,” he said quietly.
Internally you were screaming in joy because how could you possibly not take this as a positive sign? On the outside you strove to remain calm. You wriggled around until you were facing him with your head tucked underneath his. When you rested your hand against his chest you made an interesting discovery; his heart was pounding, racing at almost double speed.
“Y/N…” he whispered.
You looked up at him and nearly shivered at the intense look in his eye. He brought a hand up to brush some of your hair out of your eye, his thumb lingering to trace the shape of your cheek and trail along the line of your jaw. His fingers slipped around to cup the back of your head and then he was pulling you up to him, his head leaning down to meet you halfway.
You couldn’t help but moan as your lips touched his finally. Your hand on his chest fisted in his t-shirt as he slowly rolled you on to your back, his body sliding over to cover yours. When you felt his tongue brush questioningly long your bottom lip you gasped, an invitation he was only too happy to take advantage off. It took quite some time for either of you to remember to breathe and then you were forced to part, panting in each other’s faces as you showered each other with frantic rapid kisses.
“I’ve been trying to ask you all night,” Tenzou growled, his one hand skimming down your abdomen, “if you might possibly be interested in a real date.”
“You might be able to talk me in to it.” You tried not to notice how breathy you sounded as you arched under his touch, seeking out his mouth again, unable to believe how good he tasted.
“Yeah I think I got that,” he whispered. “Why didn’t I ask you out sooner? Y/N…you’re everything I’ve ever wanted.”
Touched and not a little choked up, you didn’t bother to answer. You shifted until his body had fallen in to the space between your knees so that you could bend your legs, encasing him in the cradle of your hips. Then you pulled him back down and kissed him until both of your heads were spinning and hands had begun roaming to interesting destinations.
You were holding hands as you arrived to breakfast the next morning and Tenzou pulled your seat out so that you could sit down next to a pretty girl with facial tattoos. She introduced herself even though you were obviously incredibly distracted watching the sway of Tenzou’s hips while he hurried off to bring you back a plate from the buffet.
“I don’t think we had a chance to introduce ourselves last night,” she said. “I’m Rin. And you are?”
“Tenzou’s girlfriend,” you replied, unable to stop the wide smile on your face.
It felt so good not to lie.
