whats it like to just come up with a silly little fic idea, write it, and then move on? what it like to not have to feel the need to only write 200k+ word fics steeped in deep lore and world building? is it relaxing

#i am attempting to create a new fic verse after essentially living in the same one for 6 years #if anyone wants to know how its going i currently have 6 pages of world building ideas #possible character lists (theres already over a dozen people) with their interpersonal relationships #and literally just the faintest whisper of a plot #do i love worldbuilding? absolutely #do i wish i could just drop some earth shattering 10k one shot fic and never think of that baby universe again? desperately #but its not in my repertoire.#kelly writes #yes it is hbo war that series is so ingrained in my dna at this point i can just start plugging people into whatever idea i have and run
