the fandom has felt kinda quiet to me for a few days now (which might totally be my fault i dont think im using this app correctly) and i kinda feel like im standing with a group of people where everyones done talking and no one know what to say next so im gonna do what i do then too: Yap ‼️ (its my one talent)

if you’d like to yap with me feel free to hop in my ask box and say whatever you like, headcanons, theories, whatever, but for now here are some random little headcanons I have:

(disclaimer: my apologies for weird spelling errors or oddly autocorrected words im dyslexic lmao)

- Wild loves to do fun things with his hair! He loves braiding it up in new styles or putting pretty things in it or buying fun clips to keep it out of his face. Sometimes one of the others with shorter hair who can’t do their own fun hairstyles will ask Wild if they can do his, and he almost always says yes

- Legend is the most likely to buy little gifts for the others. He’s not as likely as the others to verbally say he cares, and he can come off as a bit standoffish, but he really does love the others and gifting them little things is how he shows it. He bought Sky a beautiful new carving knife once, he loves giving Wild earrings (and Wild is not above just poking new holes in his ears so he can wear more of them at once), he gave Warriors a new journal one time, etc.

- Four is a HUGE fan of rain at night. He loves the sound it makes on roofs, it’s calming to him. It’s less fun when he’s sleeping outside, but he just loves the sounds and smells of rain. Warriors does too, and the two of them have sat out in the rain together silently, just enjoying each other’s company

- Twilight loves the occasional pet as Wolfie, as long as the others still hold the same respect for his physical space they do when he’s a hylian. He loves hugs, he loves the occasional pet, and he loves bonking the top of his head into the backs of Warriors’s legs to trip him before he innocently runs off to Time and acts like he’s done nothing wrong in his life ever

- Sky wakes up every day and chooses peace. He chooses kindness and love, and he seems so very calm and sweet on the outside, but if someone dares to lay a finger on someone he cares about he will explode and there will be serious consequences. He’s genuinely a very loving person, but he does have a side of him that’s just full of rage that he occasionally unleashes on monsters that deserve it. He one time let a sliver of that anger loose at a monster that knocked Wild unconscious and the others stood their with their jaws open, and then of course Sky turned back around after he calmed himself down and looked at them all like “:3”

- Hyrule cuts his own hair and because it has a good amount of curl to it, it ends up looking fluffy and it’s hard to see exactly how uneven it is. When Legend found him just trimming his hair in the dark with a knife he was like “what the fuck” and ever since he’s at least tried to help Hyrule make his hair a LITTLE more even (its still an absolute mess, but it looks fine on him)

- Wind gets under stimulated a LOT, it’s hard for him to just stay in one place or walk super slow or not be doing something with his hands, so Warriors taught him how to finger knit so he can do that while he walks as a sort of mindless activity. He doesn’t really make anything in particular, and he ends up unraveling it at the end of the day so he can keep reusing the same ball of yarn, but it helps him stay with the group and it gives him something to do as they walk

- Time is the biggest prankster of the group and he gets away with it every single time, and Wind, Wild, and Hyrule often end up taking the blame for it. The only ones who know it’s really him are Warriors (though he never actually catches him in the act, he just knows) and Twilight, who’s seen him do it several times and had to swear his silence. He’s too scared that Time will be disappointed in him if he reveals who the true prankster is, but he does feel genuinely bad every time someone else gets yelled at for one of Time’s dumbass pranks. On their last day together Time does reveal it was him all along, and then he literally leaves and disappears before the others have a chance to yell at him for it. When he arrives at the ranch alone with tears in his eyes, laughing his ass off, Malon somehow knows EXACTLY what just happened

- Warriors is usually the one who helps mend the other heroes’s clothes. They all have SOME ability to sew (some of them are better than others, like Wild and Legend, and some of them refuse to fix the holes in their clothes until it gets so bad there’s no fixing it and they literally just have to buy another tunic, *cough* Wind), but more often than not Warriors gets asked to do it, and he does it gladly. He does a wonderful job every time, and sometimes he gets to embroider little patterns, which is a lot of fun for him. When he gets bored he’ll just do that on his own spare tunics

(Cracks knuckles) Alright folks I remember how to draw

Fat fuck Vulpes by yours truly, Blaze Lander. Inspired by the lovely drawing by @yourmateyoya ,egged on by @legions-top-dog , and because i force you to deal with all my shitty drawings, @noomycatz

Yes, once again, i have put too much effort into a shitpost. Roughly 2 hours as I reused a canvas on ibis paint for a 5th drawing lmao

Process below hehe i like to ramble

And just because i like to talk about my drawing process for characters with complex outfits, this is how my lobotomy brain does it:

First i do silly fun colored sketch. I use different colors to differentiate the "skeleton" from the, euh, fleshy bits, and the clothing. You can see lots of lines that would not be shown in the final product so it makes it confusing to look at.

Next i do a clean sketch.

This is where i clean up everything before doing the final lines. I use one color and a thin brush to make it easier to line over. Here i add any extra bits (like the top football armour) and "render the physics" as i call it, so properly drape cloth and the uhhh squish of stupid fat fuck vulpes' boobs and stomach. I also will balance the drawing here by flipping it and redrawing or using the drag tool.

Next is lining.

For this drawing, i used a 9.0 digital pen with a taper. Its my standard :þ. I kept my pen at the same size for this piece. Sometimes i line the outside darker to make the drawing stand out more. I decided not to as i wanted to give the drawing a more "serious" tone. (How serious can this be though lol-)You may notice on the arms little bits of the lines are missing, thats because i gave him some arm hair. I like make little details like that show over the lines. But since the one shading technique i used works with clipping masks, i had to but the arm hairs on a layer lower than the line art. Next is colour:

I colour in the drawing with midtones. Simple as. I tried to stick with warm colours besides his eyes, which are grey blue. Idc if they arent, im too lazy to google it. I mostly use flat colors but i did make his shirt a gradient. Next is do simple cell shading:

Depending on how i feel i shade with or without the colours in the back. I went with a sorta "non decrepit" light source here. Didnt want too much intensity. I used a deep marronish orange on a multiply layer on 45% opacity. Soft shading/lighting next:

I get intense with the soft shading. I use the airbrush with a deep maroon to add dark gradient and airbrush with a light pink to add a bit more depth. I usually use less light and more dark because im evil i like the intensity. I keep the layer the same amount of opacity and multiply it with the darks and soft light for the lights. Next are the shine highlights:

I use the dip pen hard with a taper to add light highlights of white on shiny bits like metal and eyes. I uses pure white, set the layer to 25% opacity, and use normal blending.

I also shade the lines because it makes the lines softer. I use a clipping layer on the line art, set the whole thing to a dark grey, and airbrush in darker and lighter parts. (I felt like a picture wasnt needed cuz its hard to notice.

For the background, i used a dark red i stole from the cell shaded layer, drew a vine pattern with the kaleidoscope ruler, and added a vignette. Vignettes are my cheat code for background hehe~ it makes the subject stand out while keeping suave, seriousness and formality. To make a subject pop out more, put the vignette behind the character but in front of the background. For more intensity but it on top of both.

Also- I usually draw with a level 10 stabilizer (i got shaky hands) but i drew with a 2 stabilizer so im surprised it came out so smoothly-

Also i gave him goggle tan lines because if i have to have them from playing tennis with sunnies, so does he.

Ever since I accidentally picked up and played DGS, I knew I needed to play PLVSPW. I decided to alternate playing ace attorney games with professor layton games until I finished the main trilogies for both and could finally play plvspw, and it was so worth the wait. I love this game so much it is everything I could have hoped and more, so so so much more. Highly recommend to honestly anyone!!!

Summary

This game is everything I hoped it would be. yes it's a Professor Layton crossover, but it also has the charm of DGS x Princess tutu x tunic. The ending was very layton-esque, along with all the reveals. I truly had such an amazing time playing this game. I was initially introduced to this because I heard that DGS was inspired by it, so it was my mission to play both aa and pl's original trilogies before playing. And I am so glad I did bc the wait was so worth it. You can absolutely see the influence this game and professor layton had on Shu Takumi. There's so much passion and creativity between plvspw an dgs that makes playing them all the more enjoyable. I loved how all the main characters interacted with each other, I especially loved how hershel and phoenix swapped assistants. The new characters were also so fun. Espella, Barnham, Darklaw, the story-teller, they were all so unique and enjoyable to interact with. The animation was stellar. This 3D style really works for both PL and AA and im so glad both series took inspiration from it. The music and art was phenomenal, this game honestly should win awards if it hasn't already done so. I also love how any character pulled into an aa game will have their gay moments: phoenix x hershel and espella x eve especially. I can't wait to make art or even write for this game, I will definitely add scenes from this to my ballet au ^^! What a phenomenal game, what a fun premise with the most convoluted layton-esque ending. It was so perfectly I highly recommend!!

Within the Spotlight✨

Introducing my bby Gleam + a bit of his lore because yes.

Although he is a keeper of the stars in his universe, sometimes standing in the spotlight of the stars will drown him as the stories they tell pile on and on. It is a bit overwhelming when the stars cannot stop telling him stories.

It's also ofc, its also a lighting practice lol -w-

He's actually one of the first ocs I've created that I've kept for a long time- from 2015 I think? Its been a while and I've never left help me-

Anyways his name is Gleam, or Glee. You might notice that his wings have a shard floating above, It's a glass shard. Using glass is one of his abilities and it's his main ability. Although they shatter easily, as it is still glass, he can reuse it for as long as it doesn't turn into dust.

His other ability allows him to illusion himself into others but that only applies to people he knows and about his size(3'5). He can't replicate how they act or their abilities either.

My world is- its a bit complicated and I can't really explain much of it unless I introduce a few more of my ocs as they belong in a lot of different fandoms but also in its own world, if that makes sense?

3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?

I sit at my work desk hunched over and write on my phone while at work lmao, I also sit in a chair at home wrapped up in several blankets pecking away at my keyboard. proper posture who? carpal tunnel surgery or not my wrists do not like this ritual haha

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

The community, I think. I currently write for a very small percentage of people, and the percentage that comment on my work is much smaller than those that read it so I'm not writing for the joy of feedback haha. But there's people that I can go to and talk about the wacky ideas I have, or whenever I'm stuck on something in a chapter I can throw it to question to that person and we discuss it back and forth until it makes more sense. My deepest joy is all the friendships and the people I've met through writing. :')

11. Do you believe in the old advice to "kill your darlings?" Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve?

I like to reduce, reuse and recycle my darlings haha. Anything I've taken out of a fic, I use it in something else! For example, I just took 2k off of the end of a chapter for a fic I just posted and I've put it to use in the next chapter of that fic. I'm awfully fond of what I write and sometimes I get very wordy on things but...it's pretty simple for me to reuse them in something else :')

I do write in margins of my own books, because they're mine haha. I once picked up a book from a goodwill or something as a kid and there was someone who'd written so many notes in the margins of it and it showed that the book was so loved and cherished. Gonna be honest, I haven't been able to sit in a bathtub in years bc of my knees but if I could? I'd be reading in the bath. And no, I don't judge because it's their stuff? It's the things that make them happy? Why am I going to be someone who absolutely ruins that for them? Life is too short to care about these things if they're not causing you direct harm. And yes? I'm not sure how the last bit works into the rest haha.

this is a couple lines of the chapter im working on for my Ghost fic lmao

Along the bottom where the mask comes to a sharp point at the chin, there’s a looping scrawl neatly chiseled into it along one of the edges, audi, vide, tace, si tu vis vivere.  

“Hear, see, be silent if you wish to live...?” Copia reads out slowly, “This...is it?”  

this is a tiny scene where they're discussing enchantments on masks to keep the ghouls glamoured into more human-like forms, and this little line went through so much workshopping haha.

my notepad++ with latin phrases that i could have used for this bahaha, but I needed something that was more archaic for the relevance of my own personal headcanons on how previously the ghouls had been treated in this universe. i could literally go on for hours about this haha. it's such a minor detail that will only be relevant for one chapter but it's my relevant detail for a single chapter saldfks

22. How organized are you with writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?

Microsoft Word and OneDrive my beloved <3 everything is there bc I like to write on the go sometimes and being able to pull up the doc on my phone with no issue, exactly where I left off has been a life saver when I'm laying in bed at night thinking of things and I need to scribble it down so I don't forget about it. Other than that, sometimes I'll make notes in my notes app or I'll write something down on paper but those get used less bc I lose those pieces of paper aldkfjasd

28. Who is the most delightful character you've written and why?

Most delightful? Oh man, I don't know if I have a favorite? I tend to like writing all the characters I write and find them delightful alsks this is a hard question bc I've been thinking about this for like 20 mins now and can't come up with one that's been the most delightful ))):
