Like it's fine if you do it for fun, hell, I do it for fun too

But when you genuinely say things like "oh they were made for each other", it makes me think you didn't understand the material

V hurt N, and pushed him away when he needed her the most. Yes, N had a crush on V in the Manor, and the pilot. After learning how horribly she deals with her trauma, however, he stopped wanting her. The way she keeps people in the dark. The way she refuses to communicate, to show appreciation. N literally said to her face that she "kinda sucked." That was the snuff of the official eNVy flame.

No offense, but how do you guys watch this and think "Yeah, they're right for each other. They're soulmates in any other universe"

No, in my opinion, they aren't. Hell, I'm even willing to bet that Manor eNVy wouldn't have worked out, because V is motivated by fear to do bad things. She had the opportunity to speak out against N's abuse from J, and she didn't. When they become DDs, she had the opportunity to tell N what the Solver was capable of, and she didn't.

But y'know who does stand up for N? Uzi! "He's his own person!" Y'know who's willing to really brave the horrors of the Solver? Together? Uzi!

just did a rewatch marathon of s01 true detective and after actually going down to deep south, it creeps me out even more than when i watched it before..the story, the vibe, the heavy mardi gras voodoo pagan devil worship theme, the trailer parks and swamps and cane fields and cemeteries and churches everywhere. even tho i only when to the most touristy attraction places of nola and went on a plantation and swamp tour, but the few days i spent there really gave me a clearer idea of what the show was depicting. it’s 2024 yes but idk the bayous still feel so old and primitive and uncivilized and closed off from the rest of the modern society, like rust said, some people might as well be living on the fucking moon

that said, the whole vibe of the show creeps me out bad (thus making me un-horny which is rare) and i want to pick rust’s brain and burrow into his mind and know his every thought. OKAY im officially done and oh my god. im so glad i watched way too many kurzgesagt videos abt space and interplanetary expansion and had the sudden urge to rewatch this anime.

it was even better than i remembered and its so nice enjoying it now, 10 (or so) years older than the first time i watched it. its loaded w nostalgia for me, of times that were simpler, but i feel like i needed it now as well. i cried so much when it ended, it was like it was the first time. i feel like i can take something from this and go on, better for it.

HELLO PETER OUTERBRIDGE ARMY

oh my gosh yes an excuse to ramble about my favorite actor of all time wahoo!! sorry this might get kinda long haha (putting a cut because I don’t wanna disturb anyone’s feed with a wall of text)

1. what was the first thing you saw him in?

the first thing I saw him in was Saw VI as William Easton! BUT i might’ve first seen him back when i was little actually, my family used to always watch this tv show called Monk and it turns out that he guest stars in one of the episodes in the first season, “Mr Monk and the Marathon Man” and it wasn’t until i checked his filmography after watching Saw VI and i was like WAIT A SECOND he was in MONK?? MY CHILDHOOD TV SHOW??? and i actually rewatched the episode and i was like oh my god I remember you. you’ve been here all along. anyway I thought that was neat. but of course i only really started to like him after Saw VI haha, i don’t think little ruby paid any mind to Peter Outerbridge in that one specific episode unfortunately.

2. which one of his characters is your favorite? why?

god I love all his characters with my whole heart, but nothing is better than the original. William Easton will always always always be my number one favorite Peter Outerbridge character! (David Sandström from ReGenesis is a VERY close second!) i feel like we don’t talk about his performance as William Easton as much as we should, he did such an incredible job portraying Will as this morally complicated yet empathetic character, and he genuinely makes me wanna rip my hair out when i see his face of absolute despair and pain and I think that’s so commendable to his acting ability. sometimes i get really big feelings about William Easton okay i know it’s so stupid, he’s just very important to me. he exudes both douchebaggery and pathetic loser behavior at the same time and i think that’s absolutely wonderful. and he looked good doing it too!!

3. what’s your favorite show or movie of his?

what kind of question is this. is this a trick question. he’s literally fantastic in everything he’s in do you expect me to choose!! but serious answer obviously Saw VI. and maybe the Murdoch Mysteries movies…BUT im taking this as as opportunity to ramble about one of my favorite pieces of comfort media now (thank you Peter Outerbridge) which is tv show ReGenesis!! i got pulled into this show kind of by accident, i was mostly lured in because Peter plays a main role AND Greg Bryk who played Mallick in Saw V was also in it! (also the actresses who played Tara Abbott and Debbie made guest appearances in the show, which i found pretty funny. wondering if the casting director of Saw VI watched ReGenesis and was like guys what if we just put them all in a Situation) but anyway, Peter in this show is absolutely INCREDIBLE. i adored David Sandström in the first season—granted he was insufferable as hell, but the writers of ReGenesis AND Peter himself did a wonderful job letting David’s empathy and humanity shine through his rough exterior. but oh my god. season two DESTROYED me. i won’t spoil anything, but when I thought that it couldn’t get any better after watching season one, season two did that and THEN SOME. they really delve deep into David’s character, and he goes through some heart-wrenching character development that I both loved and hated so so much (in a good way!). also his looks in the second season still astound me, he is so gorgeous and i cannot put my finger as to why or HOW. but i am obsessed!! the basis of the show as a whole is so interesting too, i was a little bit worried about whether or not I’d like it since it’s a science fiction crime drama which isn’t typically my favorite genre in the world? but i IMMEDIATELY became hooked. it’s gotten to the point that I’ve forgotten that i started watching it for Peter Outerbridge, it’s such an incredible show and it opens up a lot of questions on disease and science and everything and i love it so much. it’s genuinely gotten me interested in biology! I haven’t watched further than the second season, mostly because the finale BROKE me and im still trying to emotionally recover from that but it’s become one of my comfort medias now. I actually got a dvd boxset for the first season! im always thinking, if it wasn’t for Peter Outerbridge’s performance in Saw VI I wouldn’t have found this incredible show! it’s kind of scary to think about. OKAY SORRY. ReGenesis ramble over!

4. if you could cast him in something (book adaptation, a particular movie, etc etc) what would you choose?

OH MY GOD IM SO SO GLAD YOU ASKED THIS QUESTION OKAY OKAY HERE WE GO. so im not expecting anybody to know what im talking about, but I read this book once called Fahrenheit 451 for school SOO long ago, and I actually really enjoyed it! it was also around the time when the live action remake for it came out, and given that I enjoyed the book so much I was so excited to watch it. but oh my god. if the live action remake for Fahrenheit 451 has zero enemies I am dead. I absolutely DESPISED it. I won’t bore you with my whole rant about it, but one of the top reasons as to why I didn’t like the remake was because they cut out one of my favorite characters, Professor Faber!! he was this nerdy older man who assisted the main character Montag and they didn’t add him in!! i was peeved!! so moral of this whole rant is: if i were to make a Fahrenheit 451 live action remake, i would cast Peter Outerbridge as the intelligent Professor Faber… kind of imagining Level 16 Dr. Miro appearance wise with the glasses and the beard and the kind smile and all that cute Peter Outerbridge charm. but less lab coaty and more like cozy sweater with a button up or smart blazer or something like that. do you see my vision.

5. what other actors do you like?

oh my gosh the list goes on and on. i just watched Late Night With The Devil starring David Dastmalchian, and I really loved his performance in that one! it was actually his first ever lead role which I thought was really neat. i already knew him before as Polka Dot Man in the Suicide Squad movie, so it was fun to see him play a more serious role in a horror movie. Laura Gordon (who was Ashley Kazon in Saw V, who i love very dearly) was also in LNWTD, and i ADORED her in that one too! i also really like Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, mostly because they starred in my comfort movie of all time, The Fugitive.

Strange interlude with Lazar… obviously Tommy is lashing out but I also feel like there is a bit of back-handedness to his interactions as well. Maybe the only one ACTUALLY only reaching out because of pity..?

Well that was a strange and oddly sad interlude. The middle was just the wildest of rides, but the end still managed to ground it back, mostly. 13 did NOT HURT in that regard honestly lol. I feel like I’ve definitely lost some momentum by splitting things up like this -- my recommendation to anyone watching is Definitely to shotgun it if you can do so safely. Its such a well written arc, even and up to including silly streams like this, and its a shame not to have watched it all at once.

STILL! Looking forward to seeing Drista, that little chaos godling has grown on me quite a bit, not least of all BECAUSE she’s a chas godling with creative mode lol. I’ve also heard thats the other “break” exile stream, so probably a bit more lighthearted (not least of all bc idk how much Drista the person actually knows and or cares about her brother’s block game role play canon lmao)

so!!! on the one hand, like, i dont really remember what it was like watching it for the first time? like it was so formative for me that a huge piece of it feels like this blur. like i was catching reruns after school on like Pivot and Logo? I think i came in right around What's My Line / Ted? and then just binged the entire thing and then all of Angel on like, OG putlocker during the spring break of 8th grade while eating almost exclusively cinnamon chex with soy milk. to me Cinnamon Chex With Soy Milk is the Official Sponsored Food of Buffy the Vampire Slayer So Jot That Down. But like, i just remember inhaling the show!! injecting the show right into my veins!!! and i really dont remember how it felt reacting to most plot points. but here's what I DO remember, scattered as it may be:

- was SO into xandelia. some of that is coming in on What's My Line, which is really their peak??? but like, deep in my heart i do still burn a deep torch for them

- ted!! ted was such a huge episode for me bc like,, the high school is hell concept of the show is great in theory, but when it hits in PRACTICE you're like, oh, oh SHIT. oh SHIT HEY HEY GUYS IM BEING SEEN RIGHT NOW .......... (yes i had the worst stepdad known to man YES he is out of our lives now :))) )

- weeping!!! remember deeply weeping at The Prom. when buffy cries i cry !!!

- i also remember!! just, spike's "i want to save the world" speech in Becoming Part II .......... like,,, it AWAKENED something in me. i remember thinking just like, FUCK. FUCK this is gonna be such a GUY isnt he... (and then he WAS <3) . and honestly my love of spike has been such a through-line of the whole thing. like i recently got in the mail one of those "write a letter to yourself in 10 years" things and i Sure Did spend four lines of that looseleaf paper talking about JM's cheekbones sooo

- also was way more into willow as a character! not that i dont love her but she doesn't Mean As Much To Me now? but at the time in my peak Baby Nerd, peak Baby Wiccan, peak Hey Am I Bisexual??? she was everything to me. and being jewish on top of that !! was huge!!

- one thing that has remained SO consistent is that Season Six is THAT BITCH for me. like!!!!!!! that was the deepest part of the marathon watch, i watched it in a matter of DAYS i think. i was like,,, this is the Height of Television, actually, and i was RIGHT

- also in the thread of Immediately Loving Under-Loved Parts of the Show, i never had a hating dawn era. ALL IN for dawn IMMEDIATELY!!! she DID inspire my middle school shoplifting phase!!!! and good for both of us !!!!!

- in terms of what has shifted!!!!! i think like, this is one of those shows you can rewatch eight thousand times and it will give you something new every time !!!! but a huge piece of that for me on this most recent watch has been faith !!! i never like, disliked faith, but i also never gave her much thought? like, faith eps didnt really Do Anything For Me, though i remember always loving her and the mayor. but now it's like oh??? oh she's my daughter??? she's my DAUGHTER

- similarly!! at the time there were episodes i really just didnt care for or remember much? but now that this show Is My Lifeblood like,,,, every episode is my child actually i cherish them all (even That One!) like, even the way this show fails or comes short are just so important to me now bc like, That's Part of It!! this show contains multitudes actually

- also!! i like, never watched season 1 my first time around by accident??? like, bc i started in mid-season 2 i just picked up from there, and eventually went back and watched all the episodes i'd missed!! but there are a few episodes that i just like, consistently had No Memory of. Like, i think i accidentally skipped Nightmares in there? and then in my rewatch during early quarantine i also accidentally skipped Nightmares?? like, there's just some chunks that i was pretty unfamiliar with at the time. to this day im still like,,, oh! nightmares! nightmares exists! how about that! whenever i see a reference to it

- i also think i liked ats more then!! like, i LOVED ats. was OBSESSED. not as much as i was about buffy, but still! just loved that there was more of this world to explore. but as an adult it's like, oh. oh this show HATES women doesn't it!!!!!! Inch Rest Ing ....
