I can't believe my first proper post is a rent post. But it's bugging me for the past two weeks so have it.

I don't like Atsuhina. Everytime I see this ship my chest hurts, like physically hurts. I know it's because KageHina is close to my heart. But everytime I try to imagine Atsumu and Hinata as couple there is this nagging gut-feeling that they would break-up at some point in the future. And I don't like seeing haikyuu characters in pain. I want to spare them the trouble and heartbreak because I think both of them deserves good time after time-skip.

And why every other Atsuhina fic have Kageyama as Hinata's ex. I don't read any Atsuhina fic but I know this is like a given for them. My people can you spare him. I don't think Kageyama is the kind of a person who would ever fall out of love. Tobio is someone who feels a lot and is sensitive to people around him. We do not see it at first time around because he doesn't understand social cues.

I've said this before and I will keep saying it Kageyama Tobio would love his partner like he loves volleyball, with devotion. His love would be all-consuming, everlasting and forever until the day he dies. You won't see it in his face but that how he is. As someone who has been abandon before he would never let go of something that gives him Joy and peace. At his core he is a person who feels deeply and loves too much.

This is why I don't like exes to lovers tropes. It doesn't make sense in his case because of the way he is. And Atsuhina fics where he is the ex l can only imagine how heartbreaking it would be to look at him. Cause he would never fall out of love with the first person he fell in love with. It's as much a curse as it is blessing. And we don't put much faith in Hinata's ability to understand Kags without him having to say anything. He's the ultimate Kageyama translator. And Kageyama also understand when Hinata is hiding something or being anxious. They have some kind of psychic connection. Yes, they would fight but it will be their silly little thing like they're always been. It would never be serious enough to break them apart. Not even distance would have an effect on them (👈 this is canon.)

I know what the solution is. To stop looking at Atsuhina fics. But I'm not actively looking at it. Everytime I try to look for other characters ship fics in haikyuu fandom Atsuhina is in the background. For the last few days I try looking up good Ushisaku fics (l got UshiSaku fever cause of that one panel of Sakusa seeing Ushijima folding his handkerchief with wet part inside and having fun while playing volleyball opposite him.) and there is Atsuhina in back. 😑

I know that might be cause Sakusa is paired with Ushijima in it, so that left the Atsumu alone in his fan-favourite ship which leaves only Hinata as other option. But I can't look at them without physically being ill. For me every other characters can swap places in ships but not KageHina. Their my ultimate ship, at the centre of haikyuu fandom.

(This sounds more like I'm trying to convince people to stop liking Atsuhina fics. But all I'm trying to say is stop putting Kageyama as his ex. It's seems too much like a mischaracterization. And put Atsuhina in tags so people who don't like it can avoid it. Put proper tag of Miya Atsumu x Hinata Shouyou and not bg!Atsuhina. I can't filter it if you put half-assed tags.) 😤

The sole reason for me creating this list! Look, I dropped Bake Me Please almost immediately because it just wasn't for me BUT I've been lowkey watching through my dash. And let me tell you, my fingers gain consciousness and hit reblog everytime this baby's face pops up because...well...LOOK AT HIM. He is beautiful and he should get the guy (hehe get it) in the end idc.

2) Yok from Not Me (2021)

Yok is such a beloved character and for good reason! He is sexy, he is gay, he sets buildings on fire and steals cops' wallets on accident because HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT GUY HE WAS STALKING WAS A COP??? I love you Yok, never change.

3) Palm from Never Let Me Go/ OurSkyy2 (2022-23)

The anger I felt for all the injustice and mistreatment our beautiful Palm had to face in this show took literal years off my life. It's rare for me to get this passionately protective over a character and yet here we are, in the Palm Protection Squad headquarters. Even Nueng is on the watchlist!

4) Tonhon from Tonhon Chonlatee (2020)

Not to out myself as an enjoyer of silly goofy times , but I did have fun watching Fish Upon The Sky and Secret Crush On You, so OFCOURSE I thought I would like this one too but GOD was it rough. Did I still finish it? Yes. Did I fawn over PoddKhao pairing and have been quietly praying for some kind of reunion ever since? Also yes. Was I foaming at the mouth barking everytime Tonhon AKA Podd was on my screen? I'm not gonna comment without lawyer present.

5) Tew from My Dear Gangster Oppa (2023)

Speaking of Tonhon Chonlatee...AH! Ai Long Nhai (TC's spiritual prequel of sorts) was sure...something. And by something I mean I saw Meen and decided I will never speak ill of men ever again, feminism quite literally left my body. And then a year later My Dear Gangster Oppa came out and guess what??! MEEN IS THE GANGSTER OPPA! Dreams really do come true, kids.

6) Wen from Moonlight Chicken (2023)

(or Tian from ATOATS or Mueang Nan fron FUTS). Mix...I will eat you. Always so dewy and healthy and sparkly-eyed. But Wen from Moonlight Chicken is something out of the realm of my imagination. The sex appeal? The maturity?? The gentleness??!! Somebody sedate me before I say something I will not be able to justify in court.

7) Vee from Love Mechanics (2022)

He is a pretty bisexual who makes the most abhorrent stupid decisions known to men and then weeps and suffers for them WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED? Once again, is the show flawless or even remotely coherent? Absolutely not. That being said Vee brought me so much joy by being stupid I'm forever grateful.

To a certain extent I've enjoyed every MAME show I've watched. To do that you need to possess the rare ability called "I abandoned every shred of moral integrity to gawk at hot men". And Prapai? you sit at the edge of your bed. speechless. you’re thinking a lot, but you don’t really say a word. your feet dangle off the bed and your eyes are just staring down at the floor while you just think. minho woke up earlier, you’d stayed the night and he usually gets up early anyways. you hear sounds in the kitchen. as much as you’d like to get up and see what’s going on, you can’t bring yourself to move.

you feel sick. caught a cold the other day that had evolved into more. you’re ill. maybe it’s more of a flu now. usually, if it’s your allergies, it’s a bunch of sneezing and a stuffy nose. if you really do only have a cold, you typically have the same symptoms. it’s always a guess of whether it’s allergies or a cold, and this time new effects emerged. you have a cough, and you get frequent headaches. minho’s always trying to help you now, but it doesn’t seem to be getting much better. you were worried when you first noticed it last week that minho would leave, but he hasn’t, he’s been helping you through it. minho’s probably wondering what’s wrong with you right now. you hope he isn’t too stressed out about it. how would you repay the guy after this?

“get up,” you think to yourself. feet hit the ground, you’re standing but all you can do is stay there and not move. dizziness? a little. keep going. take some steps forward. you feel heavy, like when you’re in the ocean and you come out with your swimwear full of water. whatever, just keep going.

you make your way to the kitchen where you’d assumed minho was cooking something, maybe breakfast for himself.

“minho?” you ask, voice hoarse from sleep. his head turns and looks at you with a straight face before he breaks into a small smile. your head still hurts somewhat, you think that everytime you acknowledge it, it gets worse. “did you have a good rest?” he asks curiously while he works with some pans by the stove. you wonder what he’s making, so you ask.

“guess,” he replies to your question as he flips one of the pancakes on the pan with ease. he looks back at you after a moment of silence passes, smirking. “well, it doesn’t smell bad,” you comment hesitantly. minho snorts in his own playful manner, looking back at the pancake he’d just flipped onto the plate. “well, you better have an appetite with you, too, because they’re good. anything i make is good.”

“psh. sure.” a weak smile and a couple steps forward, your fatigue is much worse. you make your way to the island and rest your elbows onto it, weight leaning onto the counter. you close your eyes tightly for several long moments; when minho turns around, his eyebrows furrow.

“something’s wrong?” he asks— well, obviously, yes— and sets a plate with a pancake to the side while setting down a couple forks for the moment. he brushes hair out of your face. something’s definitely wrong.

your throat is sore and your head hurts. you try to swallow against it, but you can’t seem to get any satisfaction, and it just hurts to swallow. “headache,” you manage to mumble out. you open your eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the light. it’s already afternoon outside. why is he making breakfast? you slept in the same bed last night, you probably infected him or something. did you fall asleep on him again? god, you feel disgusting.

“are you okay?” he asks gently, reaching out and pressing the back of his hand gently to your forehead. it’s oddly warm. not feverishly warm, but unusual. he determines it could get worse from now, for sure, and goes around to grab a clean glass to fill up with water. he places it in front of you without a word, but he’s offering. you’re thinking of so much right now.

you just want to go home, but then again you kind of don’t. also, without minho’s support you might just die. not really, but it’d feel that way. ugh.

“do you need to throw up?” he asks gently. you shake your head no, quickly. you don’t want to puke up everything in your stomach. it wouldn’t help anyone. you drink the water slowly, hoping it won’t taste awful. it’s just water. he holds your free wrist with a soft, soft grip and rubs circles onto it with his thumb as he stands by you while you sip slowly from the glass he had given you. the water is good. it’s clearing your head; a little. it hurts to swallow, though not as much. maybe it’s helping. you finish the glass and set it down next to you, leaning back into your hands on the table. you look over to minho and notice he’s looking back at you with concern etched across his features. he knows exactly what you need and want. he’s so good like that, when he helps you. it’s unmatched. man, you sure love your boyfriend. minho continues with his soothing movements on your wrist and the throbbing in your head isn’t so bad anymore. hell, it’s practically gone.

“better?”

“yeah, i think. better.”

“that’s great, love.” he smiles and leans down to try and press his lips against yours. his hands find their way to your waist and you have to stop him.

“what’s wrong?”

“i’ll get you sick.”

he stares at you for a second with that teasing smile of his. “i don’t care.”

“what?”

minho kisses you gently for a moment— though it sort of feels longer than that— before pulling away. “i said i don’t care, sweetheart. i love you.” and he does. minho loves you. there’s nothing else that matters. there’s never been anything else, ever since he met you. you’re his world. he’s yours. you both know that. he can’t bear to even think that you don’t. he’d rather suffer than lose you. minho will do anything to keep you safe. you know that, too. he knows you know. so he presses another kiss, this time to your forehead. you’re his moon, his sun and his stars; he’d never deny it.

“want those pancakes now?” minho offers, hand still around your waist.

“oh, yeah, please.”

“then let’s eat,” minho says, walking off to get the plate that has the food on it. he puts it down on the table for you with the fork sitting on top. you pick up the fork, taking a bite off the pancake.

“here, too.” the guy slides over some condiments: syrup, jelly. “if you want any.”

“thanks.”

“i didn’t wake you up today, did i?” he asks while sitting down.

“don’t know,” you reply with a straight face, lifting a piece of the pancake to your mouth with your fork. actually, he was right about the pancakes. these are good. super good. the syrup is warm and smooth. he rolls his eyes playfully at you.

“okay, sorry for waking you up.”

“no, it’s fine. thank you.”

“how are you feeling?”

“a bit better. i guess it was worse on an empty stomach.” you laugh awkwardly, trying to ignore the lingering pain in your head. it’s significantly less than before, though, and for that you are grateful.

“is there anything i can do?”

“just stay here,” you suggest, continuing eating. “maybe cuddle me?” you say quietly with an awkward smile. minho nods and smirks again. “wont you get me sick?” he answers. “i’m only kidding. you know i’d love to. finish eating for me, ‘kay?”

turning his back to get another glass, you shove the remainder of whatever was left of your pancake into your mouth. they were delicious and you couldn’t help yourself. he grabs another glass of water, this time for himself, and sips at it.

“you should rest more often,” he comments as he walks over to you. you don’t exactly reply while you chew. minho grins, putting the empty glass on the island. it clinks to the marble with a satisfying sound. you lean back, having finished your bite.

“want more?”

“no. all good. full.”

“okay.” he nods and looks off into the distance, not looking at anything specifically, just kind of thinking; like the way you were this morning. he glances back at you and sets his cup down. “do you want those cuddles now?”

with a smile and a nod, he’s next to you in a heartbeat. he picks you up, with only a moment’s worth of struggle and then carries you to the couch.

“we can watch something, if you want. or is a screen too much on your eyes?”

“no, it’s okay. screens don’t bother me,” you insist. minho goes along with it and sets you down on the long couch with him. he’s laying down against the armrest, back facing the corner while you’re in front of him. his arms are wrapped all around you and he just kind of lays with you there, head buried into your shoulder from behind. he giggles breathily.

“has that headache of yours gone?” he asks while he grabs the control to the television.

“mostly.”

“good.”

he clicks around and finds your favorite show, your comfort one, and while he can’t see your face well he knows you’re smiling. he starts the first episode, right from the beginning, and cuddles up to you warmly.

“i don’t care if i get sick,” he reminds you.

Yes Lewis did this with a lot of trophies, everytime he threw this up I swear I stopped breathing. This is not a hate post on Lewis.

The point is no one was up in arms about any disrespect shown to the craftsmanship and Hungarian culture. And let’s be honest if his hands slipped, there would be far less of the trophy left than yesterday.

I hate to say this but after the first podium and the first win, 90% of the trophies are just that to the drivers. Trophies. Most of the drivers don’t even get to keep them. There is no sentimental attachment to them.

So please as hard as it may seem, understand the emotions of drivers on the podium and that to people sat at home are very different. No one had any malice or ill intent.

You could see Lando was embarrassed as hell on the podium. By the time he got to the presser he knew he was going to get hate for it. Max found it funny in the “only Lando could do that” way and then enjoyed watching him squirm as only friends can. McLaren and Red Bull have gone out of their way to show there is no bad feeling about it. They would not be tagging each other in posts if there was.

In fact the two main ideas of leave it as is as a unique memory or repair it with tree sap and gold are both nicer ideas that just buying a replacement.

If everyone involved can accept it was an accident then maybe everyone else should.

So, since the new poll will probably be opening up soon, I figured this was the best time to say that I'd really appreciate if you tagged polls each round organizationally? "Canonish Round 1" or whatever feels right to you? I love you, and how active you are about promoting the ships and other polls, (literally started two canons because of it, and I have you tracked to see other polls) but it does make it harder to see that the voting is open, and then have to scroll down many posts to find every single poll in the round? (And then do it again because I'm pretty sure tumblr does not love me and skips posts or reorders them)

Thank you @figuringthengsout for tagging me! Since it's not my first "favorite characters" tag game I'm going to play with it a little:

So there's that ONE character who's usually in the background, because he's way too smart to throw himself directly into the main plot. He already knows it all. Seen it all, lived it all, he suffered enough to have his skin thick as an armour. And he is terminally ill or already nearly died few times (or actually died multiple times if he's immortal) so he simply can't care anymore. He's too tired to laugh at the danger, he's more like: come on danger, I don't have whole day. He's wise and smart, he's rude and grumpy, all his advices are cynical and sarcastic, but you'd rather hear from him that you're a pathetic shithead than never meet him again. Apart from losing faith in humanity and despite his efforts to fuck it all already - deep inside he's still the most rightous and skilled person around. And if he have no other option but do things by himself as a main character - he makes the best of it just running on pure insolence and morbid humour, knowing right from the start there's no happy ending for him...

So here's just few examples of this guy:

Doktor Szlangbaum from The Doll / Lalka (book by Bolesław Prus first published in 1889, also 1978 TV series) - old grumpy jewish doctor full of life wisdom and sarcastic comments. When still young and stupid he once tried to kill himself out of love but been rescued and since then he used to say suicidal people should not be disturbed.

Gaius Petronius from Quo Vadis. He's too cool to act. But if he have to - he kicks ass. He kicks all the asses. With Neron the caesar being the biggest ass of them all.

Mendoza from The Mysterious Cities Of Gold (TV series, 1982-1983). They'd love to kill him in second episode already - if not for the fact it is XVI century and on the ocean, and he is the Navigator, and they would literally die without him... So he's aware of it, he can play with his privileges and their expectations. Always being himself. You never know if he's good or evil, he's always working on his own terms and for his own good, he seems to change sides of the conflict quite fluently... In one episode one of his stupid sidekicks asks him who they are working for right now because he got really confused... That's the character trait, ladies and gents🤣

Hobson from Arthur (1981). What a vicious, grumpy, cynical old man! Terminally ill, of course. You got to love him, no other option.

Dirty Harry (nuff said). Saving the suicide jumper is my most favorite scene. Yes, it's wrong, yes, it's against all the rules, but OMG how authentical it was... And Man with No Name from Dollars Trilogy is actually the same guy so yeah, count him too.

Duńczyk from Vabank (1981) - "Z wiekiem spada zapotrzebowanie na zysk, a rośnie popyt na święty spokój" (With age, the demand for profit is falling and there's a growing demand for peace of mind)

Bob Cody from Interstate 60 - "Say what you mean, mean what you say". And he MEANS IT. For real... Terminally ill has no scruples

Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) from Live, Die, Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow. I am a little sorry that she's the only female on this list but how can I help that kind of woman characters are so rare? It's like every Ghibli Studio girl with her "fuck off I have the world to save" attitude but Rita is not a minor. And everytime Tom Cruise's character comes to her presence to lose his head and get hard (he's basicly a stupid dick with legs) she's like: "We're trying to avoid apocalypse here, can you focus?" And kills him. Again and again. She literally kills the handsome prick every damn time unless he comes back good enough to save the world with her. So yeah, she have that ultimate AroAce energy that I adore 🧡💛🤍🩵💙

So now for two characters of different trait - villains:

Shere Khan from Jungle Book (1967) - he's a villain but he's so awesome. Like: everybody around knows he's the most dangerous killer around so he simply doesn't need any show off or flexing muscles. Whenever he appears each and every animal already shits their pants (regardless of no pants) and he is sooo aware of that effect that he plays with it. Being just so casual and courteous. And when anyone still needs more persuasion he's like: oh, we're both gentlemen here and I surely don't need to remind you of my CLAWS for that would be improper... He's such a killer🤣

Frank Burns from M.A.S.H. TV series. He's a villain too. And he's sooo evil. But sooo stupid. He's a human louse. He's so pathetic it's almost cute. And whenever he does something really wrong you know he's going to be punished and humiliated - and it's such a relaxing ritual of restoring your faith in humanity...🥲

i think its good for written speak however ive heard too many people use tone indicators in oral form sarcastically that id find it more helpful to explain your tone in a different way.

please just say "i do not mean this in a mean way" or "I really truly mean this" or "i mean this as a joke" if you are speaking out loud to me. audibly saying "slash neg" or "slash gen" is smth i find annoying and idk maybe even a little insulting? not in that its demeaning, but it feels like its not important enough for you to specify exactly what tone you wished to have, so you just say it as an afterthought. The tag isnt supposed to be audibly pronounced when in read text either its to inform with what tone you read the post so saying it aloud just feels weird idk.

i also think some people (allistics mainly) use it as a way to lie to someone without sounding suspicious because they think they can toss out a "im sorry /gen" without fully articulating why they are sorry and explain why what they did was wrong. a full breakdown of your ideas/beliefs is always the superior way to get your tone across and prove you mean something.

i may be wrong about that last part. sometimes it does just feel like if someone knows im autistic and that ive used tone indicators that ill believe any tonetag someone adds and can be manipulated as such.

lastly, i worry about how some ppl dont fucking use tone tags properly!!!!!!! like please dont use them as an element of sarcasm go be funny literally any other damn way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ur not funny ur just degrading the useability of tone tags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

overall tho i believe tone tags should exist and not just for autistic ppl/circles but for the internet at large.

its hard as fuck to get tone across with just text on a screen when ur used to being able to indicate the tone of your common phrases through speech. and yes its doable to type out "i am not actually mad" everytime to be clear but thats not quite as intuitive is it? Because if you said the same thing irl the fact that you arent mad could be made evident simply in your voice, and so the flow of your sentences online gets gunked up by this and you end up not typing the way you audibly talk.

i also think tone tags are a godsend for twitter bc of the stupid word limit on posts and how people love to miscontrue shit on that fucking website.
