To Be Yours (Deal pt2)

Part 1

The man, because he is a man now, (again?) reaches out, and you sigh as his hand brushes against your arm, real skin against real skin. You lean forward, your forehead meeting a solid chest made from flesh and bone, with a heartbeat beneath it. His arms come up to hold you against him, and they’re warm against your back. His head comes to rest atop yours, and you can feel the weight of it. His chest rises with each inhale and falls with each exhale that moves your hair just the slightest bit. You wrap your arms around him in turn, hyper aware of the slight scratch of his shirt against them, the way it scrunches beneath your hands.

You just stand there like that, just holding each other, until your feet start to hurt from standing still for so long. You shift between your feet, trying to be subtle, hoping he won't notice and let go of you.

After a minute of this he pulls back, raising an eyebrow in question. “My feet hurt.” You grumble in explanation, pushing your face back against his chest.

He laughs, pulling you closer against him, his arms squeezing you, strong, but obviously being careful with you. After another moment he pulls away, taking your hand. He leads you toward the sitting area, bypassing the couch and falling into the overstuffed chair you favor, pulling you down into his lap.

You smile and roll your eyes at his decision, though you certainly aren't going to complain. You settle into the chair with him, your legs thrown across his, your arms wrapped around his torso and head resting against his shoulder, your lips ghosting against the exposed skin of his neck. He sighs in contentment, one hand holding onto your legs, fingers spread across the skin of your thigh, the other moving to run through your hair, soothing you rather quickly to sleep.

After a few minutes of indulging in a good pout, perhaps even a slight mope, you pull yourself out of bed. As your brain finally starts to wake up a little, you realize you seem to have slept in your clothes from the night before and you can't seem to think of why you would have done that. In fact, now that you're actually thinking about it, you don't remember going to bed at all.

You wake the next morning tangled in the blankets of your bed just like every morning. You sit up, looking for Chris, wondering if the night before could have been just a dream. You flop back onto your mattress when you don't see him, glaring at your ceiling in your disappointment at waking up alone again.

You eventually wander toward the kitchen, in search of breakfast, and more importantly caffeine. You make it through the living room and are about to cross into the kitchen, when you freeze, backtracking as your brain catches up with your eyes.

Chris is asleep on your couch. While the couch is perfectly comfortable for you to lay on, Chris is taller than you by no small margin, leaving him almost comically squished onto the cushions. You stifle your laugh, thinking how sore he's going to be when he wakes up, and wondering why he didn't join you in the bed.

You turn and head back toward the kitchen, starting coffee, and taking stock of your breakfast options (you really should go grocery shopping soon). You settle for toast and spread, and a mug of coffee for yourself and the same for Chris, though you leave both his toast and coffee plain for now, not sure how he prefers them, or if he even knows himself.

You leave the food set out on the table and go to wake Chris. You kneel next to the couch, shaking your head again at how uncomfortable he looks. You reach out and brush a few strands of hair away from his face, quietly calling his name. His hand flies up to grab your wrist, his eyes snapping open. After a second he processes that it's just you and he relaxes, releasing your wrist, a smile sliding onto his face. You start to apologize but he shakes his head, waving it away. “Good morning.” He whispers into the space between you, his voice gravely from sleep, and you find yourself again wishing he was there when you woke up, though breakfast would have likely been much later in the day if he had been.

“I made breakfast.” You whisper back, “Well. I half made breakfast. I have no clue what you like to eat. So right now it's plain toast and black coffee.”

He laughs and unfolds himself from the couch, groaning as he stretches, his back making a truly impressive series of pops that you're certain would have made you lightheaded.

As he sets about fixing his breakfast to his tastes (you can't quite decide if he knows exactly what he wants or if he's just picking things at random), you sit and sip your coffee, feet propped up onto one of the spare chairs. After he finally seems finished and also sits, your curiosity finally gets the better of you, and you ask why he slept on the couch when he would have been much more comfortable in the bed.

He finishes chewing his bite of toast before responding, “You fell asleep, and I knew you'd be more comfortable in your bed. I didn't want to assume I would be welcome.”

You reach across the table and take his hand in yours. “It was very considerate of you, but I wouldn't have agreed to your deal, to be yours, if I didn't want you with me.” He squeezes your hand with a nod and a quiet, "ok." and you let go, both refocusing to your breakfasts.

-But yes whenever someone mentions Hanji’s pantry everybody shivers in their boots a little. There are no documented survivors. No volunteers. Also you need a gas mask and a radiation suit to access it.

i feel like this isn’t as good as i could’ve made it, so i’m sorry anon, but i am fresh out of ideas for this, i hope u don’t mind that i added scenarios i just couldn’t help myself

was obviously intimidated when he and his family arrived at your village

both were absolutely starstruck when you you locked eyes as you rose out of the water alongside tsireya

when he said hey to u you could not find the words to speak so u just bowed your head and smiled

both were overjoyed when your father announced that you would be showing them around and giving them lessons

the way you made sure to keep close to him and sent looks in his direction didn’t go unnoticed by tsireya

he could not take his eyes off of you, his stomach would flip every time u looked back at him

when she asked you about it when you got back to the marui you tried shrugging it off, in reality your mind was in a turmoil

it didn’t go unnoticed by neteyam either, he was teasing him about it allll night long

the next day, when it was time to give them lessons you made it a point to keep rotxo and aonung in check when they made fun of them

when everyone got out of the water and got situated on the rock, you chose the closest spot next to him

you both noticed that neteyam knowingly grinned at lo’ak and started sweating bullets

His eyes darted to yours at the sound of your voice. Mentally cursing himself, he lowered his head in embarrassment.

“If you can’t it’s— it’s fine. Sorry I asked.” he started to walk away, your stomach flipped and you lurched forward to grab him.

“No! No, lo’ak all I meant was that if we get caught we’ll be in a lot of trouble.”

His eyes searched yours, trying to decipher what the words meant.

“…Yes. Yes I’ll meet you on the shore. Tonight.”

A grin pulled at his lips, nodding firmly. As you pulled away, albeit hesitantly, from him and walked away, his skin tingled at the feeling of your touch.

when he arrived to the shore and didn’t see you there, his smile dropped and his chest deflated with disappointment

he’d gone through all the trouble of sneaking out only to find he’d been stood up

after nearly 10 minutes, he started to walk away with his head down

until he heard footsteps behind him

you really had shown up

you explained that you had nearly gotten caught and apologized profusely, but all he could focus on was that you had shown up

of course you did, he was the asshole for thinking you wouldn’t

you spent the night together, give him better lessons and watching the stars

he’d pointed out a specific star, the star that his father had come from

it was the most fun you’d had in a long while

so much so, that you found yourself sneaking out every night to meet him, never once caring about the consequences

every time, the two of you would grow closer and closer

yet neither of you wanted to fess up about the feelings you were having

the easily recognizable feeling of tension that sifted through the air when you locked eyes, or accidentally touched one another

EVERYBODY KNOWSSSS.

on one night in particular though

you and lo’ak were playing around, nearing your marui’s and saying goodbye

until you heard approaching voices and footsteps

they sounded extremely close

mouth going dry, when lo’ak cluelessly opened his mouth to speak, you hurriedly shushed him and shoved him into a dark crevice between the homes.

His golden eyes met yours with concern and confusion and you lifted a finger to your lips, cautiously poking your head around the corner to check.

Only to whip it right back inside.

‘They are coming’ you quickly signed to lo’ak, stilling instantly.

Two villagers walked past as soon as you did, your heart beating so loudly you were sure they would hear.

Thank Eywa they were too focused into conversing to notice the two Na’vi hidden between the marui’s.

Ushering lo’ak out and back onto shore, you both broke out into laughter.

After recovering, you turned to look at him, only to realize the close proximity between the two of you. His golden eyes were trained on yours and you inhaled sharply, gaze wondering all over his face.

“Lo’ak…” you whispered, bringing your hand up to his cheek. Searching his eyes deeply you began to reach up, almost connecting your lips with his.

“I’ve never done this before,” he said breathlessly, body pressed flush against yours. “I haven’t either..”

He released a breath he had no idea he was holding, drawing himself impossibly closer.

“Good.”

And with those words, he captured your lips in his, a hand resting on the small of your back while the other was tucked into your hair. Your other hand found it’s way to his cheek and you kissed back, trying to engrave the feeling into your mind forever.

Neither of you would pull back until you felt that air was an absolute necessity.

“I’ve wanted to do that since I met you,” lo’ak said, gaze pinned onto yours. You flushed and looked down, intertwining your fingers with his.

“I see you.” you smiled and pressed a quick peck to the corner of his lips. “We should probably get home before—”

“What are you guys doing out here?” Tsireya asked, eyes widening in realization when she caught a glimpse of your hands.

You quietly gasped, pulling your hand back. Lo’ak did the same and you shot him an uneasy expression.

“Sister, it was nothing—”

Tsireya simply smiled, stepping down from the rope. “Lo’ak you need to go. Your father is looking for you.”

He cursed, quickly moving in the direction of his marui. He looked back to you and gave you a lopsided smile, you waved goodbye, knowing he would make it up to you.

midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?

Sadly yes, she has a lot of problems sleeping. One of the main reasons is one particular nightmare, well... A memory about when Menéndez killed Woods in front of her, she had a bullet wound in the chest, a gift from Menéndez as revenge, wanting to kill everything that Woods loves, like the sergeant did with Josefina. Abby still blames herself for Woods death, she thinks it was her fault. She can still remember the pain from her throat when she screamed and begged Menéndez to not kill Woods. But of course he ignored her. It's a ghost that haunts her. She was really close to Woods and she blames herself for his death.

There's another nightmare that now hunts her, but it would be a spoiler from Mason's Legacy and I don't want to ruin it hehehe. 🤫🤭❤️

Anxieties? Oh yeah she has a lot. Under that "fuck you" shell there's just a kid that wants to keep her family close and safe. She has this constant thought that she has to do better, she has to be stronger, she can't be a burden to her father, she can't fuck it up. She thinks it's the payment for her mistakes in the past (although she was just a small kid when it happened), she can't take a break, she doesn't deserve it.

When she can't sleep, during those hours when everyone is sleeping and she can't make a lot of noise, she usually reads. It calms her mind, usually she reads about astronomy, she dreams about being an astronaut or a very important physicist. If she's alone and can afford doing a little bit of noise she will play her guitar, calm slow song, with soft notes and melody. Or basically she would stare at the horizon and see how the sun raises.

Torture: Has your OC ever been tortured? Would your OC ever torture someone else?

Has Abby been tortured? Sadly yes. It's in Mason's Legacy fic, so I won't give much detail about it.

Would She torture someone else? For the right reason? Yeah. She wouldn't do it if she had the choice. But if someone that is really close to her is in danger, and it's her only option she would do it without any hesitation. Of course she's not a professional about it. She can handle guns and weapons but doesn't know much about torture methods, but she would find the way.

And It would affect her, a lot. To torture someone you have to have a really strong mind, and Abby's mind is strong but not that strong.

"Why?" Taryn asks herself for the thousandth time, "Why did I ever say yes? Why on earth did I ever agree to a date that has no future in it?"

Yet just like the question, the answer keeps being the same: because she'd really, really wanted to.

Because she'd been thinking about this girl ever since she'd met her, and had been falling for her the more she got to know her in those months after. She just hadn't been sure if the feeling was mutual, or at least not sure - and with that not brave - enough.

Thank heavens Mika is nothing like her! Not when it comes to courage. Cause there she suddenly was. Showing up at the bar to tell her that she likes her, that she's actually into her, and to ask her on a date, a real one. Taryn could not have been more happy, despite their terrible timing.

Despite the fact that she'd just learned that she was going to be Mika's boss.

She'd been thrilled, and thus she'd ignored that little twitch of doubt and agreed.

She'd agreed, and soon after they'd went on a perfect date. They'd shared time, laughter (who knew a canceled wedding could be that much fun?) and some sweet kisses together, before heading to work, where Mika's day had turned insane and Taryn got to be there for her in the hours after, when Mika told her every detail about almost losing Dr. Altman as well as their patient while being with them in that OR. Taryn had listened attentively until far after midnight, when Mika's voice had finally started to drift off, telling her she was this close to falling asleep, despite still being on the phone.

But unlike Mika, she hadn't been able to sleep, and it wasn't just because her first day as chief resident was about to begin.

It was because her first day as Mika's boss was about to begin, and because she knew, deep down inside, that whatever they were about to start together needed to be ended.

Today.

As in, right now.

Still questioning herself, while pacing back and forth, Taryn keeps her eye on the ER's back door, then sprints towards it as soon as she catches Mika walk in - completely drenched from the heavy rain outside.

"Come," she just says, taking Mika by the elbow before she can even say hi, "We need to talk."

It isn't until they're halfway the corridor that she halts and turns towards her (by now) intern again. Without a word, Mika stares back at her in anticipation, somewhat confused, but mostly soaked - and with that kind of miserable, yet also both super cute and weirdly hot.

The image alone leaves Taryn speechless for a moment. All she can do is look at this girl in front of her. At the raindrops that are sticking to her lashes, and that single one that rolls from her temple to her chin. At the damp, clingy hairs that are stuck to her skin. At her mouth that's fallen open as she's panting for air after her run though the rain, and then the hallway.

"What is it?" Mika asks at last.

Taryn sighs, then shakes her head, trying to get herself together. To force herself to do the right thing. Her eyes find Mika's again, which doesn't help. Which makes her forget everything she'd plan to say.

When she stays quiet, Mika takes a small step closer.

"Taryn?"

It's in that moment that Taryn gives up. That she can actually feel her hand move towards the door handle of the supply room right next to her, while the other one makes its way up to the lapel of Mika's sodden coat.

Fuck it.

As she pulls Mika along with her, she deeply inhales, then finally finds her voice again.

"No one can know."

The door closes behind them. Today's not the day.
