I had a lecture earlier about birds (I was thinking about so many Pokémon during that lecture. Surely I must have thought about most of the bird Pokémon plus Wake and Archeops (there was some stuff about bird ancestors at the beginning) and, while they’re not Pokémon, Falcon and Blood from F-Zero) and at one point the lecturer mentioned coot feet being more made for walking on land than ducks or something and I’m honestly thinking (being the Dancer Pokémon) that must be why Quaquaval replaces Quaxly/Quaxwell’s duck feet with coot feet

Also we need more bird starters that sing. Best I can do is headcanon that Blaziken, Empoleon and Quaquaval (but not Decidueye because Primarina exists. Decidueye’s probably a fairly close second as much as I’d love to believe that Incineroar is also a good singer. Also it’s probably much better than Hisuian Typhlosion and Hisuian Samurott so at least it gets to musically dominate one of its trios) are the best singers in their trios
