In The Name of Love | Chapter 15

"Pedri… Pedri, can you… Pedri!" I giggle.
"What?"
"Didn't you come to help me?"
"I did."
"Well, you aren't."
"I'm sorry. But when you wear your hair up I get too distracted. You have such a nice neck…" he says, kissing me again. "And your ears… they are so edible."
"Pedri! Did you just bite my ear?" I laugh.
"Yep. When we were in Tenerife I realized how tiny and cute they are and now I can't stop" he says before biting my earlobe again.
"If you are hungry there are cookies in the kitchen. The ones with your face on the package."
"I don't want to eat cookies. I want to eat you" he smirks.
"Not happening. We have work to do."
"C'mon, Val. Let's take a break."
"Pedri, I said no. I need to finish this for tomorrow."
"Ok, fine" he sighs, finally giving up. "What do you want me to do?"
"Make sure there is one thing of everything on each bag. Can you do that?" I tease him.
"Yes, I can, Miss Valeria" he replies, sticking out his tongue. "This is a really cute idea, by the way. My teachers never gave me anything when the year ended."
"They probably couldn't wait to get rid of you" I tease him again.
"My teachers loved me. I was a really good student, you know?"
"I know."
"You do? Did I tell you already?"
"Marina did."
"Of course she did" Pedri chuckles. "Are you ready to get rid of your kids?"
"Yes… and no. I'm exhausted and can't wait to just relax and do nothing for a while, but at the same time I know I will miss them and probably end the day crying."
"Well, you'll have Ferran with you. You can cry on his shoulder."
"Pedri, are you jealous?" I chuckle.
"No."
"You totally look jealous."
"I am not jealous, Valeria."
"Pedri… Pedri, hey, look at me."
"What" he sighs.
"I like you" I say, caressing his cheek. "You are my boyfriend."
"But everyone thinks you are dating Ferran."
"But I'm not. And if they had allowed me, I would have found a way to have you visiting the school, not him. But the headmistress insisted and…"
"And she's your boss."
"Yes. But if I could, I would have loved to have you meeting my kids."
"Your other kids you mean. I am your kid" he says, finally smiling.
"Yes, you are" I say. "You, not Ferran. So forget about him, ok?"
"Ok" he sighs.
"Pedri…"
"I said ok. Now let's go back to work, we still have lots to do" he says, giving me a quick peck.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"Do we have it all?"
"Yep" Ferran says.
"Ok" I say, taking a deep breath. "Ready to fake that we are dating?"
"Ready" he smiles. "Shoulder or waist?"
"What?"
"Should I put my arm around your shoulder or your waist?"
"Neither?"
"Pedri does both, I've seen you. So if we want to make it look real…"
"Ferran, I'm too nervous already. Please don't make it worse."
"Ok, ok. Not touching" he says. But the moment we make it to the school's street, we end up holding hands while trying to walk among all the parents and kids, all eyes on us.
"Here they are!" Beth says once we are inside the building.
"Good morning" I smile.
"So this is him, uh? The flowers boy."
"The what?" Ferran asks.
"Didn't I tell you that that's how they used to call you because of how often you would send me flowers here at the school?"
"Oh, yes, yes. Sorry. I'm a bit nervous" he says with his best smile.
"Don't be" Beth says. "We all are like family here, aren't we, Val?"
"Yes, we are."
"Come to the staffroom, let me introduce you to everyone. Did Val explain to you how you are going to meet the kids?" she asks Ferran, grabbing his arm and starting to walk.
"She did, yes."
"Perfect" Beth smiles.
"Looks like she fancies him" Emma chuckles behind me.
"Looks like she does, yes" I sigh.
"Val, are you ok?"
"I just… I don't know. I feel bad lying to everyone. He should not be the one here with me, you know?"
"You real boyfriend should."
"Yes."
"I still can't believe you are actually dating him" she laughs. "You were so against the idea, saying it was just sex, that there were no feelings involved… And now look at you. You've fallen in love with him."
"I'm not…"
"You are and you know it, Val" Emma says before joining the others.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"I don't understand how you can be so calm, Val. Don't you feel the need to jump at his bones?"
"What?" I laugh.
"Men playing with children is just so… hot" one of my colleagues says.
It's the end of the day, and after Ferran has met all the kids at the school, taken photos with them and answered their questions, he is now playing football with some of them.
"You should have seen him with the little ones" another teacher says. "He was so cute."
"Miss Valeria!" one of the older girls says, running towards where we are. "We need your help."
"What happened?"
"Vera and Paola are mad at each other because Vera says Gavi is more handsome than Ferran."
"Because he is" Vera says, rolling her eyes.
"But I think Pedri is the most handsome one."
"You are blind" Paola says.
"What do you think, Miss? Who is the most handsome one?"
"I…"
"Me, of course" Ferran says behind the girls with his most charming smile. "I'm her boyfriend, remember?"
"You are" Vera giggles.
"But we still haven't seen you kiss" Paola points out.
"I'm at work, girls" I say with a nervous laugh.
"But it's the last day, everyone is having fun! I'm sure the headmistress won't mind if you share a little kiss."
"I mean… I…"
"Kiss, kiss, kiss" the three girls chant.
"Ferran?" I say, looking for his help. But he just shrugs, his hands in his pockets.
"Kiss, kiss, kiss."
"They won't stop until we do it, Val" he says.
"They won't, no… Ok, fine" I sigh. "But just a peck."
"Just a peck" Ferran smiles. But he doesn't do as he says, and gives me a proper kiss. A kiss, that if you ask me, is way longer than it should, one of his hands cupping my face while the other rests on my waist. "Happy?" he says to the girls while I try to understand what the hell just happened.
"Yes!" they giggle before running away.
"Ferran, we need you!" one of the older boys calls.
"I better go, my team is losing" he says, also leaving.
"Val, are you alright?" one of my colleagues chuckles.
"Uh?"
"You look… shocked."
"Oh, no, I'm fine. I just…"
"She's just embarrassed because you all saw her kissing her boyfriend, nothing else" Emma says, coming to my rescue.
"Yes, that's it" I nod.
"Well, you shouldn't be. I also wish a hot young man would come and kiss me like that."
"Yeah… Umm… Emma, fancy a coffee?"
"Sure" she says, linking my arm with hers. "Val, what the fuck was that?" she says once we are inside the school.
"I… I don't know."
"That wasn't a peck!"
"I know."
"You don't kiss your best friend's girlfriend like that."
"You don't, no."
"Do you think Ferran secretly fancies you?"
"What?" I laugh.
"I mean, you've said that Pedri gets uncomfortable when Ferran is around you and that he didn't like this idea, that he was jealous. Maybe he has noticed something?"
"I hate you, Emma."
"Me? Why?"
"Because I'm about to spend a week with both of them in Ibiza, in the same house. And now I won't be able to stop thinking about Ferran maybe having feelings for me when all I wanted to do was to relax, finally watch Martin Garrix live, and be all over my boyfriend, who happens to be best friends with him."
"Sorry" she shrugs. "Maybe you can talk with them after Sunday's game."
"Sunday… fuck. I had forgotten about that." I promised Marina we will attend Barça's last game at the Camp Nou and take photos on the pitch with La Liga's trophy, and I can't cancel that now. She would definitely kill me. "What am I going to do?"
"Talk with Pedri, tell him what happened today. But maybe do it after the game just in case there is drama. We don't want the newspapers somehow finding out that they had a fight."
"Do you think it can end in a fight?"
"Maybe. I don't know" Emma shrugs again. "But talk with Pedri, don't make the same mistake again. If it hurt back then, imagine now that you are in love with him."
"Emma, I'm not…"
"Oh, girls, there you are" Luis interrupts me. "I need your help, one of the little ones is locked in the bathroom and doesn't want me to help them. I think the beard scares them."
"I'll go" I offer. Anything to make me stop thinking about the mess I may be in.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
Ferran kissed you?
What?
Did Ferran kiss you yesterday, yes or no?
Who told you?
He did
🤦♀️
Why 🤦🏻♂️? Why didn't you tell me, Val?
Because I was planning on doing it tomorrow after the game. I wanted to tell you in person
That sounds like an excuse
It isn't, Pedri. You can ask Emma if you want
She knows?
She was with me. She can tell you exactly what happened, that it meant nothing
To you
What?
I knew it was a bad idea
Can we please discuss this tomorrow after the game? Or over facetime. But not like this
I don't want to talk right now
Pedri… 🥺
See you tomorrow, Val

OoTP, Chapter 3 - Your First Lessons
Draco Malfoy x Hufflepuff!Reader
Warnings: none?
Masterlist
Word Count: ~4,800
Note: the length of this one kind of got away from me, can't lie. usually my method of proof reading / editing is retyping the whole thing from my text editor to tumblr but this was taking me days with all the other stuff I have going on, so if there are more weird typos than usual that's why and I'm sorry
Saturday morning came, and you woke up and groaned at the ceiling. You hoped that if you pressed your pillow onto your head hard enough you could go back in time to stop yourself from offering tutoring to the biggest git at Hogwarts.
Wilbur sat down on your chest and started purring.
"Gff mrng," you mumbled from under your pillow. He began kneading your chest. You sighed and removed the pillow. "I suppose you'd like some treats." He pushed his wet nose into your face, so you pushed back your bed curtains to find an open bag. Donna was awake too, stretching in bed.
When she saw you were up, she said, "You getting breakfast? I think Yvette is already gone - she said something about Quidditch before passing out last night."
"Nah, I've gotta get to the greenhouses. I'm tutoring someone today."
"Who?" She sat next to you on your bed, scratching under Wilbur's chin.
You grimaced. "Uh, you probably don't know him. He's a fifth year. A Slytherin."
Donna laughed, then said, "Oh, you're serious? Well, ha! Good luck."
"Thanks. Keep him company, will you?" You pulled on a pair of jeans and a lime green and peach jumper your mum had described as 'hideous, but warm,' and headed out the door.
Before the greenhouses though, you needed to make a stop in the library if you were going to help Malfoy rewrite his self-fertalizing shrubs essay, which, thankfully, was about as easy to find as the great hall.
Halfway down the corridor you heard Peeves singing at the top of his ethereal lungs, "Saturday! Ink hooray! Why are you working? Saturday! Time to play! Good luck without your ink!" followed by the unmistakable sound of ink bottles shattering against stone. To be fair to Peeves, that was the nicest thing you'd ever heard him sing.
A Gryffindor came sprinting round the corner, dripping in ink, followed closely by the Gryffindor ghost.
"Oh, hey Ginny. Rough morning?"
She scowled, "I don't know why I even bother. Scourgify." She tapped herself with her wand, and the ink melted into the think air.
"I'll go get the Bloody Baron," the ghost said before drifting off into the wall.
"You don't happen to have any spare ink, do you?" asked Ginny. "I've procrastinated too much on that nonmagical transportation essay for Muggle Studies."
"Yep, s'all yours. Is the library...?"
"I'd wait for Nick to get back. Peeves has totally blocked the door. He's actually trapped a couple students and Madam Pince inside."
"Great." You peered around the corner; inside the library Peeves was doing a jig atop a toppled bookcase leaning against the door and throwing books with every kick. Madam Pince repaired them as quick as he could rip them apart. You watched, horrified and baffled, through the windows lining the library until the Bloody Baron appeared a few minutes later. He drifted up out of the floor and bellowed at Peeves incoherently, who then disappeared into the ceiling in a fright.
You ducked under the fallen bookcase and gingerly stepped through the books littering the ground, glancing at titles. You found a few that would suffice and stuffed them into your bag, and left to find your way back out to the greenhouse.
A few other students were already there, milling around with watering cans and bags of fertilizer.
Draco Malfoy waited for you by the vegetable patches, wearing a green argyle sweater vest over a pristine white button-down -why he chose that to garden in a mystery you wouldn't venture to guess- staring at his shoes.
He looked up and met your eye; his mouth fell open but before he could speak, you said, "Did you bring your essay?"
He nodded sharply. "I wasn't sure you were still coming."
"Oh? And why was that?" you snarked, walking past him to greenhouse 5. He trotted to keep up with you.
"Well, you seemed pretty mad the other day."
"Don't know what you mean. Sit." You held out your hand for the essay. At the top you saw, "T- see me" scrawled in Professor Sprout's handwriting, and you began to scan through. It was truly dreadful, not only was it several inches too short, it made the argument that the shrub bore fruit that, when it fell, turned into excrement that put nutrients back into the soil. "Where did you get this information? Don't tell me you made it up!"
"She gave us homework the first day!"
"So did everyone else, small wonder this is so bad. I have brought actual, real sources for you to pull from in your new essay." You ripped the old one in half with a flourish. "And we'll never speak of this one again."
Draco huffed, "How is anyone supposed to come up with a foot of yammering about a shrub?" You shot him a dark look, your patience wearing thin. "Fine, fine. Where do I start?"
You handed him a tome entitled Carnivorous Flora - Reversal in the Food Chain and said, "Chapter three."
"Carnivorous?"
"Read," you commanded, pointing firmly at the book, "and we'll talk after you've got the broad strokes. I'm going to get some things set up for your snapdragons; Professor Sprout may be lenient and regrade that as well. They'll be on the O.W.L. anyway." You found the snapdragon; it wasn't difficult since the tips of its petals were still discolored from the acidic soil, and pulled down the limestone, as well as powdered moonstone, ground horsefly wings, and gargoyle blood. Draco was still skimming, so you took a moment to fill a watering can from the pump outside again, not willing to fail at that bloody water creation charm in front of him.
"Well?" you asked, setting the water down.
"This is absurd. These things eat people. There's a whole section about how to keep them from eating you."
You pointed at your bag, "In Travels with Trolls there's a fairly detailed account of an accidental encounter with one while Gilderoy Lockhart was searching for trolls in the caves of Sweden. There are pictures in that one there - Flesh-Eating Trees of the World - for reference."
"God, that's disgusting."
"Yep. Am I safe in assuming that you've written a passable essay before?"
Draco scowled. "Well, yeah, but where do I even start with this? I can't very well write a foot on how to survive a flesh eating bush attack for Herbology."
"Ok," you sat down next to him and pulled out some new parchment and a quill. "We can start with an outline, and you can do the writing on your own." You walked through the important sections - climate, soil quality, how best to care for the plant - and picked out various bits of helpful text.
You continued, "If you need more length after that, it's always nice to not why someone would want to cultivate a species. These produce seed pods that are rich in iron, used in various medicinal concoctions, see here?" you pointed to a page in the potions textbook for second years. "Otherwise, once you've covered the basics of having the thing in your garden, just find something about it that interests you and expand on it. That should get you to a foot of parchment, and at least an A."
You stood up and stretched a bit before moving onto the snapdragons.
They were whining in a weak, rather pathetic way. Draco watched with a creased brow as you explained how their petals acted as a pH test, and you could tell his soil was too acidic based on the green tinge around the petals' edges. You pointed to the things you'd pulled out and said, "The limestone is the gentlest way to raise the pH, but I think for you the moonstone should do fine. You want purple edges, if they turn blue you've gone too far - add some gargoyle blood. Works as well as leaf mold, but these things love blood."
He took a pinch of the powdered moonstone and sprinkled it close to the base of the stems. "How do you know so much about this?" The petals lost their sickly hue and softened into yellow.
"My mum runs a potions supply shop. We grow almost everything we've seen in class."
"And that's why you're in Herbology 5?"
"Yeah, Professor Sprout convinced Dumbledore to let me skip ahead a bit because I kept interrupting her in first year." Draco continued to sprinkle the moonstone on his firebreathing snapdragons, and their leaves finally turned the right shade of purple. "Stop! That's perfect. Now you want to annoy them until they start glowing red, then be ready to douse. I'll go get a bottle." He managed to rather cleanly bottle beautifully plum smoke right up to the brim, and despite your lingering distaste, you bloomed with just a little bit of pride at his success.
The sun had been climbing steadily during your activities, and by the time the bottle of smoke was tucked into Draco Malfoy's bag, along with the reference books you pulled for him, it was obviously noon by the way the rays beat down through the greenhouse's glass roof and the way your stomach rumbled with fervor. He thanked you rather brusquely, the conflict of Thursday apparently remembered, and strutted back off into the castle.
The next Herbology lesson rolled around, and while Draco refused to meet your eye during Professor Sprout's lecture on the screechsnap, on your way out the door you heard, "Y/N! Hang on!"
He had jogged out into the sprinkling rain, bag held above his head, and handed a roll of parchment to you. It was his rewritten essay, a hastily written "E" and smiley face at the top.
"She accepted the smoke too." Though good news, his expression remained rather stoic. You cocked an eyebrow. "I owe you one."
"Don't worry about it," you said before turning to walk away.
He followed you into the castle, "No, really, I owe you. I don't understand why else you'd offer-"
"Because I could. Is that not good enough?" You shook your robes off in front of a fireplace, eyebrows knit together. "And you desperately needed it. If you need any help with the screechsnaps let me know - they can be a bit nippy."
His mouth opened and closed a few times, a bit like a fish out of water. "You clearly don't like me though, no accounting for taste, but I don't-"
"I like you fine when you aren't being a git or ignoring me for no reason. Besides, this has nothing to do with-"
He got quieter, glancing around at the other students walking through the hall, "I just don't want anyone to know - just if my father found out I need help in Herbology, from a fourth year in Hufflepuff-"
"And what's that supposed to mean? Nevermind, I don't care. I have to get to Potions. Goodbye." You huffed away from him, fuming and damp, asking yourself repeatedly why me?
Though you had a sinking feeling that every conversation with Draco Malfoy would be a contentious one, Saturday morning after the third week of the academic year you were inhaling a muffin on your way to greenhouse 5. You weren’t sure if it was a good idea to continue tutoring, or if Draco would even show up, and your stomach was turning over at the thought of it. Yet, once you sat down at one of the benches, you saw that silver-blond hair glint harshly through the tinted glass and the knot in your gut loosened. He jerked open the door and paused.
You gestured at the bench across from you. “This time I wasn’t sure if you were showing up,” you joked weakly.
“Well, as you so deftly pointed out, I desperately need help.”
The morning was tense as you explained the homework - getting the screechsnaps to sing and harmonize - but by the end you thought you may have a way to lighten the mood. You just hoped you were right.
“So,” you began slowly, “you still owe me one?”
Draco’s eyebrows narrowed. “Yes.”
“I think I’ve thought of something. Do you know the water conjuration charm?”
He pulled his wand from his pocket unceremoniously, tapped the nearest empty pot and commanded, “Aguamenti.” The pot filled to the brim with perfectly clear, almost sparkling, water.
“I’m absolute pixie piss at Transfiguration, but I’ve had to use the hand-pump outside since forever, and I wondered if you could help me with it?”
“This is the favor you want from me,” he said, deadpan.
“Yeah,” you said, trying to sound casual. “That way no one owes anyone, and no one has to know.”
“And you’re ok with that all of a sudden?”
“Well I don’t love the idea, but it’s not like we need to be friends, right? This is just a mutually beneficial academic exchange.” He raised an eyebrow. “Sorry, I just can’t tell if you’re angry or not and I use big words when I’m nervous. But I can’t think of a reason why you would be angry, so I’m confused too. You gotta give me something here.”
He sat back on the bench and exhaled heavily. “No, I mean, I just thought, nevermind. Yeah, you’ve got a deal.”
“Great.” You shifted and looked at him expectantly, hoping he’d take the hint and teach you how to do the spell that’s been giving you grief since you read about it. McGonagall kept telling you it was “advanced” and you shouldn’t worry about it, but you’d show her.
Draco blinked a couple times. “What, now?”
“If you have the time, please.”
“Uh, alright.” He tossed the water from the pot onto the greenhouse’s floor and plunked it in front of you. “Let’s see what we’re working with.”
You took a deep breath, pulled out you wand, and cleared your throat, then said, “Aguamenti.” There was a long pause while nothing came out of your wand. You knit your eyebrows together and tried again. “Aguamenti.” There was another long pause and heat crept swiftly into your cheeks. You shrugged and looked at Draco as if to say, “See?”
“Don’t be offended by this, but have you ever transfigured anything?”
“How could I possibly be offended by that,” you said in disbelief. The absolute audacity. Though you hated to admit it, there was some truth there as you thought back to last year and your inability to ever correctly transform a teapot into a tortoise. “Like I said. Pixie piss.”
“Maybe we should start with something simpler. What was the last thing you did that seemed easy?”
You grimaced. “The match to needle spell in first year.” He snorted rather derisively, his cold grey eyes rolling in his stupid head. You crossed your arms, indignation rising hot in your gut. You blurted out defensively, “At least I’m not just a lazy, entitled muppet-”
“Now, see here-”
“No! Why is my inadequacy any funnier than yours?” He stood up, still gripping his want tightly, eyes angry and flitting to and from the door. You held your hands up in surrender, “Look, I’m sorry. But this is never going to work if we take turns insulting each other’s intelligence - it’s just school, so it’s normal to need help, right? Though I stand by lazy, I think that’s accurate.”
He sat back down in a huff. “How so?”
“You could’ve passed the essay if you’d done any research to begin with - it’s clear you aren’t stupid, but asking Professor Sprout to curve your grade because of whoever your parents are instead of just doing the work is my definition of lazy.” He mumbled something under his breath. “What?”
He grumbled, “I sort of see your point.”
You grinned cheekily, “What?”
“You heard me.”
“I did. Now, are you going to teach me how to conjure water or not?”
He rolled up his sleeves and cited the transformation formula - bodyweight, viciousness, wand power, concentration, and a fifth unknown variable - before gesturing to his own wand. “Hawthorn, unicorn hair. Sufficient wand power. What’s yours?”
“Oh, uh, chestnut, unicorn hair.”
He nodded, “Bodyweight and viciousness has nothing to do with you, so it must be the concentration component.”
You huffed, “Well that’s not helpful.”
“Would you just relax?”
“Sorry,” you grumbled.
“Transfiguration almost always works for me,” you rolled your eyes, “because, my theory anyway, I almost always believe it will. And I stay focused. So, instead of concentration, try confidence and focus.”
You squinted doubtfully; how could you possibly convince yourself that the spell which hadn’t worked would suddenly? Though, you had to admit it made some amount of sense. And Draco seemed to have some idea what he was talking about. The spell worked for him after all. A transfiguration spell. Wasn’t it just transfiguring air into water? Steam found its way and dissipated into the air all the time. Surely the things were related.
“Ok,” you said to yourself, “I’m ready.” You squared your shoulders and readjusted the grip on your wand. Draco nodded once, the corner of his mouth twitching upwards. “Aguamenti.” You couldn’t believe your eyes. A healthy stream fell from the tip of your wand into the bucket. But then you looked up, excited, and it sputtered out.
Draco smiled smugly, “You lost focus. But better.” He stood up. “I think this will work. But if we can avoid it I’d rather not meet here every Saturday. I’ll find somewhere more secluded; I don’t want to have to explain what I’m doing in the greenhouses to every Hufflepuff pruning some vegetable.”
At first you were prepared to protest, but looking around, there were only going to be more people here on weekends as the term advanced - especially O.W.L. students. “Ok, some days we will need to be here, though. The conceptual lessons only go so far; Herbology is very hands-on. And I can’t imagine where would be a secluded place at Hogwarts on a Saturday that won’t be overrun with couples.” He waved a hand, “I’ll take care of it, don’t worry.”
“Alright, let me know when you’ve figured it out then.” You stood up to gather your things.
Draco, at the door, turned around and asked, “By the way, I never asked - did you make the team?”
“What? Oh, Quidditch. No, I’m a substitute though.”
“Ah, too bad. You’re a decent flier.” He left you standing dumbfounded in the greenhouse, uncomfortable and flighty heat flooding your cheeks.
The next Saturday Draco found you leaving the great hall after breakfast. He had been lurking behind the beveled arch of a window, and you yelped when he materialized from the shadow. He shushed you and pulled you around under the arch with him.
“Are you insane?” you whispered, poking your head out, wondering if Yvette had seen. It looked like her early morning Quidditch practices were doing you a favor - she seemed totally unawares as she slumped away back to the common room.
“I’ve found a place,” in addition to his usual school bag, he was carrying two boxes - one wrapped like a package, the other with holes poked in the top - he continued more quietly, “Meet me on the Quidditch pitch, at the base of the Professors’ stand, in fifteen minutes.”
Before you could ask any questions, he hopped through the open window and strolled out onto the grounds. Despite your confusion, you did arrive on the Quidditch pitch and found his head poking out from under the checkered cloth covering the stands.
He waved at you hurriedly, “C’mon! Under here!”
You followed him under, asking, “Here? What if we get caught? We’ll get in so much trouble.”
“Nah,” he said, brushing off his trousers and pointing to the pin on his lapel, “We won’t - I am a prefect, after all.”
Under the stand, a fairly large if short space, very little light filtered through the cover and the bare ground was patchy and hard, not to mention freezing. The first rafter nearly brushed the top of Draco’s head. “Oh, ok…” you said, rubbing your arms and trying not to shiver.
Draco smirked and picked up the box wrapped like a package. “My mum sent this to me this morning.” Inside was a perfectly round stone, which he set on the ground in one of the corners. “This should do the trick. Lapis Ignis.” A faint light grew from within the stone, and the air was warmer immediately - the light became a tiny, crackling fire trapped behind a thin layer of the stone. “It’s a portable fireplace. I told her I’d been getting cold at night. Our common room’s under the lake, so.”
The tenseness in your shoulders relaxed with the warmth. You set down your bag on the ground thoughtfully. “This could work. Next time I may bring a picnic blanket though.”
“I was getting to that. I did say I’d take care of it, didn’t I?” He pulled a large green and black checkered quilt from his bag that looked far too nice to be putting on the ground, and tossed it into the air. You tilted your head to your right shoulder sharply. Draco didn’t miss a beat. He whipped out his wand and muttered something, and before the quilt started to fall it opened in ripples and settled itself neatly on the ground.
The borders on the quilt were all embroidered with little silver snakes.
“You really bleed Slytherin, don’t you?”
“It is the best house.”
You laughed, until you realized he was not at all joking. “Well, everyone thinks their house is the best house, don’t they?”
“They might think that. But, really, there’s no contest.”
Well, you disagreed there pretty strongly, but given he’d turned his attention to whatever else he brought with him, you decided there was no use in arguing. You rolled your eyes, “Anyway, do I wanna know what’s in that box?” You pointed to the one with holes poked into the lid.
“Right, this is for Transfiguration. I borrowed it from McGonagall this morning.” He opened the box and coaxed the thing inside out onto the blanket.
It was a hedgehog.
“Don’t worry, I’ll return it when we’re done here.” It’s cute little nose was working overtime, snuffling around on the quilt.
You knelt on the edge of the quilt across from him, careful to keep your shoes off of it. “Poor thing looks nervous. You didn’t bring any treats, did you?”
“Why would I have brought treats? We’re gonna turn it into a pin cushion, not invite it over for tea.”
“No need to get snippy,” you said, trying to rub a bit of your scent onto the quilt. Draco watched dubiously. Softly, to the hedgehog, you said, “No, no need to get snippy. You’re a cute tiny thing, aren’t you? Yes, of course.”
Draco cleared his throat.
“Right, sorry. We’ll start with Transfiguration, then?”
An hour later, you had succeeded in turning the hedgehog’s quills into pins, matches, and threads, but the hedgehog remained a hedgehog and never a pincushion. Draco’s brow had knit together furiously and he tried with growing fervor to explain the spell to no avail. Finally, he sat back on his heels and sighed, head thrown back.
“Well,” he said before a long pause, “it’s an improvement at least. Shall we move on to Herbology?”
“Oh thank heavens.” Your spine relaxed as you waved your wand and the hedgehog’s pins turned back into quills. “Professor Sprout tells me we’ll be getting to fanged geraniums soon; they’re not complicated but forgetting a step can get you bitten and that will scar no matter what Madam Pomfrey puts on it.”
Another hour passed, and you had taken off your shoes to sit cross-legged on the quilt, open book in your lap and happily napping hedgehog under a fold of your cloak. Draco had begun tapping his wand against his knee in frustration. “Remember,” you said, “they’re sentient beings. They really don’t want you to take their fangs - you have to reason with them.”
“How?” he said hotly, “How do I ‘reason’ with it?”
You shrugged. “A trade typically works. I’ve got one at home who likes acorns to decorate its pot. Or you could convince it that you need the fangs more than it does, like in Wandering with Werewolves.”
“This is absurd. I feel silly.”
You smirked, sensing a foothold. “And you’re going to let that stop you? I thought you wanted to be a… something?”
“I thought it could be fun to be a curse-breaker. For Gringotts.”
“Ah, and when you’re breaking curses all over the world, and you miss a trap because your tie gets crumpled and you need to make a blood-replenishing potion or you’ll bleed out, are you going to hesitate asking for a trade from the nearest fanged geranium? Or will you feel too silly?”
He paused. “You’re kind of an ass, you know?”
“Says the kettle. What do you do?”
But Draco never had the chance to answer, as the curtain began to lift. You shared a panicked look for a moment. A large eagle-owl came tramping into the space, feathers ruffled, carrying a letter on its leg. Draco held out his arm for the bird, “Here, Montague.” Montague settled himself on Draco’s shoulder and began preening, clearly affronted, and Draco plucked the letter from his leg. The parchment was gilded on the edge and sealed with inky black wax. His brow furrowed as he read. “I have to go,” he said, looking up quickly, “Now. I’m sorry.”
“That’s ok,” you picked up the hedgehog to return him to his box. “I can return him to McGonagall for you, if it’s urgent.”
He nodded, “Same place next week?” He tapped the stone and the light went out, the chill creeping back into your bones at once. You stood up and helped him fold the quilt before he stuffed it back into his bag along with the stone.
You sat back down next to the hedgehog’s box to pull on your shoes. “Sure. But don’t think we’ve moved on from fanged geraniums.”
He laughed shallowly, silver hair falling limply on his forehead.
“C’mon Montague.” He lifted the curtain and stooped to climb out, then looked back rather regretfully. “Sorry, thanks, uh… bye.”
“Bye,” you said to the closed curtain. “Lumos,” you whispered, and your wand lit up so you could tie your shoes. That was strange, wasn’t it? You brushed some dirt off your jeans as you stood and picked up the hedgehog.
The week following crawled on agonizingly slowly, and, to make matters worse, the stairs seemed particularly driven to keep you from any and all destinations. It had put you in a rather sour mood. So sour, in fact, that when Professor Umbridge made an unexpected appearance in Arithmancy, and proceeded to interrupt Professor Vector every two minutes to ask her to repeat herself in “more general language,” after class you couldn’t help but complain about it the second she was out of earshot.
“It’s like she has no understanding of the subjects she’s evaluating,” you moaned to Luna, the both of you on your way to Charms. “She doesn’t even have a grasp on her own subject, I’d bet any number of galleons on it.”
She nodded thoughtfully, “It does seem that way. But I don’t think Fudge cares much about her being a competent teacher.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well she’s clearly meant to be a competent spy.”
“Hey - Luna. Oh, hi Y/N,” Ginny came hopping up from behind, swinging an arm through each of yours. “Where’re you off to?”
“Charms,” you grumbled.
Luna’s eyes sparked with her sly smile. “Professor Umbridge sat in on Arithmancy. We’ve been discussing-”
“We’ve been complaining, Luna, tell it how it is.”
“Well it’s funny you mention her,” Ginny started, lowering her tone as other students passed. “How do you feel about the current quality of your education?”
Luna replied, “Not good.”
You said, “Pixie piss.”
“And how would you feel about learning from a more practiced source?”
You cocked an eyebrow, “Who?”
“Harry Potter.”
You let out a laugh, “Excuse me?”
Luna thought for a moment, her eyes glazing over, then said, “He should be a font of experience, theoretically. To survive He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named not once, but twice is quite a qualification.”
You felt Ginny’s gaze before you met it, her eyes searching and only a touch wary. You sighed, “Well I don’t know what happened last year but I don’t think he’s a murderer, or crazy. So I guess I believe him. What’s this about?”
Ginny, apparently satisfied, leaned in closer. “We’re having a meeting. This Saturday at the Hog’s Head in Hogsmeade. At noon. Just to talk things over.” She shrugged. “But you didn’t hear it from me.”

First-Impression thoughts on Hazbin Hotel's "official" first ep, now that I checked it out on YT-
*Spoiler warning below for those who didn't see it yet-*
-Great to see Charlie & Vaggie again, still a wholesome lil supportive pair whilst having their own quirks/things to do on the side. Esp with Vaggie spending the whole time back at the hotel reshooting a whole commercial for Charlie's sake, awww :3
-Pleasantly surprised by the twist of Charlie's mom being the figure she was most inspired by to make her dream come true, along with her love for singing. Curious to see where Lilith's whereabouts could be if she's been away for so long?
-The new voices were... a mixed bag, I suppose? Mainly in the line/tone-deliveries for certain characters (& I guess I'm still moreso used to the OG pilot's portrayals lol), but I can see the good attempts made from those like Charlie & Alastor.
-I... don't know how I feel about the way Lucifer's backstory was handled? Like, yeah its interesting hearing of him & Lilith genuinely connecting over their "rebellious" natures (& thus fleeing from Heaven's wrath/staying in Hell to be together). But then, the whole thing with Lucifer apparently being some "doofy, misunderstood dreamer who only wanted the best for Humanity, got bullied by those mean ol' angels, and didn't meaaaan to spread Sin all across Earth~ 🥺🥺" ...ehhhhh, felt kinda lame imho 🤷♀️. Not that I mind giving nuanced/sympathetic angles to a character's development now & then... but with someone like Lucifer (who mind you, is meant to represent the "Ring of Pride" on top of his Hell-ruling duties), I guess I kinda expected more... "bite" to his portrayal, I guess? .3. But idk, maybe that's just me... (*Tho admittedly, one could argue that perhaps he and/or Lilith were simply lying in that storybook to make them look less "bad"... idk, given HB's track record with Stolas' writing and since both shows are made by the same people... part of me can't help having my doubts ^^; *)
-Adam... ooooooh boi .x.;; Ever since I saw his leaked design I've always been rather... "mixed" about him, and now seeing him on-screen & talking I... don't really get the concept behind him? I mean, yeah I'm all for a fun, chaotic-jackass type when done right (hell I still consider Blitz among my faves to this day lol). But with Adam apparently being the big leader behind Heaven's army, AND was even the "original" Adam from biblical times... how tf did he get the chance to be allowed in Heaven if he not only helped curse humanity to sin (aka: sharing Forbidden Fruit with Eve), but on top of him currently being a horny, misogynistic loudmouth? 🤨Discounting that is also the fact that his whole design vibe just... doesn't really give me "holy army leader" vibes, but more-or-less just Blitz in some weird angel cosplay lol 🤷♀️. No shade to those who genuinely do like Adam though (and I'll admit his song was surprisingly catchy lol), I just... feel like his whole personality/design vibe could've probably fit better to a fallen angel-type character (or even a demon-angel hybrid if you wanna play more into the Heaven vs. Hell conflict), someone who only takes up the "Adam" title as an ego trip to enact his revenge against Hell... or, something like that idk; my brain's tired lol. (*His sidekick Lute seems pretty cool tho, she kinda reminds me of Tempest Shadow from MLP in a way .3.*)
-Nice to see more of the old Hotel gang again, esp those like Nifty she was a cute :3 (her whole reaction to the camera honestly being a whole mood lol)
-Did not expect to see Brandon Rogers pop up voicing Katie Killjoy of all people, buuuut I guess I can see the amusing comparison potential to that one CEO persona of his lol
....Aaaaaand yep, that's about the gist of my first-impression thoughts atm .3. Dunno if I'll be sitting down to watch the whole season of Amazon's Hazbin atm (*'cause like, I do have Amazon Prime, buuuuut I rarely ever use that to watch shows (save for some classic cartoons here & there lol) .w.; *), but I'd say it was still generally a decent watch for what it is imo👍(+any chance to see my girl Vaggie again, the better~ x3💜)
#hazbin hotel spoilers#hazbin hotel review#hazbin hotel criticism#(*not 'technically' critical I guess buuuuut dunno if I wanna put this in the main fandom tag (for obv reasons lgjk) TwT*)#(*heard some rather... 'controversial' things about some of the later eps so I'll probably hold off watching the season til later-*)

The Little Leeches Act Two: Introductions
Riddle had a dream last night. It was more of a memory than a dream, but it still haunted him when he awakened the next day.
💔
Riddle was by the dock, watching another ship sail into the distance. He never liked going on boats ever since his father turned out to be lost at sea, or in other terms, dead. He was only 12 at the time, but he never grew out of that fear of the ocean. It was a haunting experience to hear your mother sobbing in her room about her husband's shipwreck and after that day, shipwrecks have been a constant curse around the kingdom, 50% of ships come back after an expedition.
Riddle was smart enough to not be by the docks all alone, but one day he heard splashing underneath the dock one day. Though confused, Riddle checked to see an unusual tail underneath it, caught in the net that had fallen due to a storm prior. He couldn't reach the docks as he was scared to fall in the ocean but then he heard sobs of pain from underneath. Riddle was shocked, thinking it was a kid in danger. He did the unthinkable, he jumped in.
He saw a mermaid, crying due to the fear of being caught by a human. He looked at Riddle with eyes that begged him not to scream to the world about him. Riddle didn't. He sank and began to untangle the net from the mermaid's tail, shocking the mermaid. When he grabbed the net and moved it away, the mermaid rushed away, leaving Riddle alone under the dock. Riddle was stuck floating and tried to swim but due to lack of experience, he found himself sinking, losing air as he sank. He accepted his fate until a pair of hands immediately wrapped around him and swam up. Riddle took a massive breath when he resurfaced and looks back at the mermaid that saved him.
"Y-you saved me," Riddle coughed.
"You saved me, so I saved you," the mermaid spoke, "and you look interesting." He spoke, swimming around Riddle.
"I am?" "Yeah! You are a human!" The mermaid laughs, "and I wanted to thank you for saving me. I'm Floyd."
Riddle stared at the smiling mermaid at him, introducing himself so causally. His heterochromia eyes gleamed with joy and interest, and a toothy smile that was showing an unusual kindness.
"R-riddle," Riddle whispered to Floyd.
"Hmm," Floyd hummed, "I can't remember that. How about Goldfish? Or Goldfishie? Hm, I like Goldfishie more!" Floyd smiles.
"It's not Goldfishie," Riddle clarified, "it's Riddle. But nonetheless, why are you here? Shouldn't mermaids stay deep in the ocean?"
"I mean," Floyd pouted, "yeah, but I wanted to go up here because well, look!" Floyd shows Riddle a bag of what Riddle could describe as utensils, equipment, and jewelry. "This is a…thing for my human collection!"
"Human collection?" Riddle questioned, "You collect them? How come? We don't have anything worth collecting."
"That's because you are a human. But to someone like me, it's all new and I wanted to see more, see humans up close. That's why I was here, I wanted to see humans for the first time." "And…well, you seem to have met one."
"I did! I met Goldfishie!"
Riddle sighs, already thinking that correcting Floyd would be a waste of him as he wouldn't see him again afterward. "That's great but can you help me to shore? I can't swim in the water." Riddle asked.
Floyd smiles and helps Riddle to the beach's shore, sitting on the sand. It gave Riddle a full view of Floyd, teal scales covered his body from head to tail, sharp teeth resembling those of a shark and colored eyes that Riddle swore glowed when under the dock.
"So…what brings you to land?" Riddle questioned, "Aren't you supposed to be in the sea?"
"Well, yeah," Floyd chuckles, "But I got bored and I heard humans so I followed them here. Seeing them up close is such a dream come true. You wouldn't believe it."
"It's…strange, to see a mermaid up close," Riddle admitted, "but you look nothing like how they look in the various books I've read. Do they all look different?"
Floyd grins and lifts his tail, "Yep! Eels, salmon, pufferfish, octopus, the whole bunch! Many merfolks are incredibly different and are from all seven seas."
Riddle nodded and glanced at Floyd's tail once again and noticed a bad bruise where the coarse rope was. He immediately took the tail and begins to wrap his collar ribbon and begins to wrap the bruise tail with it, in hopes it'll make it less painful. Floyd watched with confusion then astonishment, and grins at Riddle.
"Wow.."
"This is just until you get better," Riddle spoke. Floyd smiles and hugs Riddle, catching the redhead off guard but hugged back.
"I should get going," Riddle whispered, "Mother would freak out if she finds out I'm here by the ocean." Riddle gets up and looks back at Floyd. He didn't want to leave Floyd alone but the sky was turning dark. But he did have one last question in his mind.
"Would it be alright if you visit more?" Riddle awkwardly asked, "Uh, I think we should be able to communicate more. It might be risky but I'm willing to take that risk."
Floyd's eyes lit up and he showed a big grin. "I will!" Floyd cheered, "I'll see you soon, Goldfishie!!!" Floyd grins as he returned to the ocean, the waves removing any sign of him on the beach. Riddle looks at the sea and looks down and just smiled to himself.
💔
Riddle could only stare from the sea from his window to the exact location where Floyd sat that day, resting underneath the sun and warm on the sand. It was the brink of dawn, and he was sure most are not even awakened yet, so he was alone with his thoughts and his guilt. He looked at the sea again and how it sadly reminded him of Floyd, the mermaid he shoved away like an old memory, all because he had fears for him. It was silent for a while, letting Riddle's thoughts echo in the empty halls.
A flute began to play, waking Riddle from his guilt to see Trey by the ocean shore. It wasn't uncommon to see Trey there, according to Julius, but it does catch Riddle off guard most of the time.
"Does it still bother him?" Riddle asked himself, "It's been a week now. Little does Trey know that the voice he's looking for is underneath the waves, where they belong."
Trey continued to play but found that fruitless, especially in the morning.
💔
Where did he go?
Where can he be?
When will he come again?
Calling to me?
Calling to me…
Calling to me…
💔
Riddle wished he knew how to fix a problem of love, but it would be a failed attempt no matter what method he tried. He never saw Trey so entranced and in love before, even when they were children. This was the first for Trey.
💔
💔
Somewhere there's a boy
Who's like the shimmer of the wind upon the water
Somewhere there's a boy
Who's like the glimmer of the sunlight on the sea
Somewhere there's a boy
Who's like a swell of endless music
Somewhere he is singing
And his song is meant for me
And his voice It's sweet as angels sighing
And his voice
It's warm as a summer sky
And that sound
It haunts my dreams
And spins me 'round
Until it seems I'm flying…
His voice!
Hearing the melody made Riddle think of Floyd again. Or most precisely, the love he has for Floyd, even after that day. It was the same love he could hear in Trey's voice. It made his eyes teary at the thought of what he had done. The guilt was gnawing at his heart, ripping it in half.
💔
I can sense his laughter
In the ripple of the waves against the shoreline
I can see him smiling
In the moonlight as it settles on the sand
I can feel him waiting
Just beyond the pale horizon
Singing out a melody too lovely to withstand
And his voice
It's there as dusk is falling
And his voice
It's there as dawn steals by
Pure and bright, it's always near
All day, all night
And still, I hear it calling…
His voice
💔
Riddle stumbled back onto the bed, looking back at his window. He felt trapped, suffocated in his room, just thinking about Floyd. He made a mistake and he knows it now, but he'll never take it back, with Floyd being gone forever.
💔
Strange as a dream…
Real as the sea…
If you can hear me now
Come set me free…
Come set me free!
💔
💔
"Wake up!" Shrieked Shore. Azul groaned, getting up, and looking up at Shore.
"Will you not?" he groaned, trying to lift himself from the makeshift mattress.
He looks over at the boat, remembering the previous night. He hoped it was a dream, the previous night. But feeling the wood and watching the men around them reminded him that everything was real, the deal, his aunt, and the fact that they are in the land above.
"Awake?" asked a sailor, "Best to. We are nearing the kingdom, and we should be able to dock soon."
"Thank you," Azul yawns and looks over at the sleeping twins. Azul sighs and starts to shake them awake, getting silent groans from the duo before forcing themselves up to look around.
"Good morning," Azul greeted, "I'll have you both know that we are still on the boat, in the human world, and we still have legs. Now we are approching the kingdom."
Floyd gasps as he lifts himself to see the kingdom from the distance, silently gasping and cheering.
"Careful," the sailor laughed, "We should be nearing it any moment." The Sailor stopped by the stocks as a carriage arrived. The trio watched how they began to dock the fish that they caught, and much to Azul's dismay, they were transferred to the back so they wouldn't get caught by the guards and the queen.
"Ugh, fish even feel slimy on land," Azul muttered to himself.
What made it worse was that they were covered by an already-soaked tarp, which already made Azul want to scream at the twins for even considering going on land. After a few minutes, they began to ride up to the castle. Floyd, incredibly excited, took the tarp off and begins to look around the people, the land, and feeling the sun.
💔
Look at the sun and the sky and the sand and
The sea behind me
Look at me, suddenly I am on land, and I'm free
💔
Floyd got up to feel the new view of land he's never seen before, ignoring Jade and Azul's efforts to put him down. Nothing was getting him down unless a bump happened.
💔
Don't mind me as I
Climb for the first time
Jump for the first time
Trying to stand but this gravity's pulling me down
💔
Floyd pouted as he fell onto the fish, glaring at his new legs.
"Forgot that gravity exists, hmm?" Azul teased, making Floyd pout more. They got back into the tarp as they reached the castle entrance, allowed by the guards to ride inside. Floyd, Jade, and even Azul were shocked at how big the castle was now they were inside it.
"It looked so small in the distance," Azul mumbled to the duo.
"Good morning, your highness," The sailor spoke, "Today's a great day, hmm?"
"Yes, it is! Got any the fish?" Laughed the king.
"Many for you and the royal family, sire."
"Fantasitic!" The Sailor got from his carriage and began to whisper in the king's ear, Azul's best guess was to alert The King of their presence. The King gave a look of understanding and nodded his head, and walked over to the tarp.
"Don't worry, new guests," he spoke cheerfully, "I am delighted to show you around and get you back to good health. First, let's get you nice and warm."
With the guidance of the king, the trio were led to the kitchen, where a nice warm fire was waiting for them. It caught the attention of Floyd as he grabbed Jade and rushed towards the flames, trying to examine it. Jade, on the other hand, was just staring at the humans around them, uncomfortable.
💔
Look, it's a fire, it's warm and it glows
And it lights this chamber
Let me admire it—, ow, get too close and it bites
I came too close for the first time
💔
"Floyd!" Azul gasped, "You shouldn't put your hand in it.."
Floyd just stared at his hand in amazement, feeling the heat on his fingers, and not just his fingers, his entire body felt warm.
💔
Burned for the first time
Everything's clearer and brighter and hotter
But now that I'm here like a fish out of water
I'm trying to stand but this gravity's pulling me down
💔
Floyd tried to get up once again, but a strange pain caused him to collapse onto the floor. His vision was blurred but was kept standing by the strangers around him. Jade rushed over to check on his twin, and he didn't like how dizzy he looked.
"Oh dear," The King sighs, "Don't you worry, my friend. Your brother is just having a strong reaction to being in heat for to long."
"…i thought it was overexcitement…" Azul mumbled. Jade tried to get Floyd's attention, but nothing seemed to work. Even pulling on Floyd's face wasn't working.
"Hey, hey," a maid spoke softly, "we will take care of him, sir. Just a cool bath and a perfect bed will set him straight, my dear."
Jade stopped for a moment before letting the maids take his twin to the washrooms, with another pair leading him to another washroom, separating him from Azul. He watched how they carefully tend to him as soon as he entered the bed, looking around the room. That's where his thoughts to began to wander. So much so that he begins to submerge into the tub he was in, letting the water surround him like it used to.
💔
Are we only food for slaughter
Is this life on land?
Well, he was lonely underwater
Come on, Jade, time to stand
💔
Jade gasped as he felt the air return to him. He had forgotten that he couldn't breathe underwater anymore and that he would drown if he went under for a few more minutes. "Is something the matter?" asked a maid. Jade shook his head and sighs to himself. Bathtime was over and he was transferred to a bedroom, as they began to clothe him, ignoring any silent protest he had.
💔
Squeeze in the shoes and the corset, it's tight
And the seams are bursting
Some people choose this, I guess it's alright
Are my dreams adjusting?
💔
Jade gasped as a gown was draped over his head, stealing his eyesight from him. He wanted to move away but the corset was granting him limited movement, but somehow, it became less painful.
"Poor thing," he heard a maid sigh, "he must be so confused about everything."
"We should be glad to have a generous king, and he lets him stay here. Such a sweet man."
Jade was grumbling to himself, now completely ignored by the maids. He didn't need all this pampering, and all of these dazzling jewels, when he can just find some in the ocean. He just stared at the mirror, trying to be comfortable, but nothing was convincing him that anything was alright and fine. He wanted to just be back in the ocean, but he had a nagging feeling of comfort. Why? He had no…well, he supposed there was a human he was interested in but this wasn't about him.
"How's one of our guest?" The king asked. "Adjusting." The King smiles as he walked in, looking at Jade.
"And you?" he asked Jade, "Is this room suit your liking?"
Jade made an awkward smile, messing with his new dress. He nodded his head, trying to avoid any conversation.
"Hmm, why do you seem familiar to me?" The King pondered, "like one of my son's portraits of this mysterious man..who looks like you. Wait a darn moment-! You two! Get Trey this instant."
The Maids rushed out, leaving Jade alone.
Jade gasps as Trey was mentioned, the prince he saved. He didn't want to believe, that the person he saved would recognize him, but a large part of his heart begged for it. His heart begged for Trey to see him as the same mer who saved him on that day, and that he fell in love and wanted to learn and be with him. He didn't want his heart clouding his judgment.
💔
As I wait for the first time
Here for the first time
Now for the first time
He's coming through those doors
Up the stairs
💔
Jade began to walk around his room, trying to keep calm about the situation that he was in. He was going to meet Trey again after so long, after a long battle against mind and body for what he wanted.
💔
From the shore
From that moment
And he'll smile
Like he knows
When I say—
💔
Jade gasped as his back was now against a man. He stumbled away to look at the prince, Trey. He had a smile on his face, very different from Jade's embarrassed one.
"Hello," he greeted, "you must be one of our guest."
Jade gulped and nodded, trying to bow towards him. "My father wanted me to meet you," Trey smiles, "I'm Prince Trey, or well, just refer to me as Trey. If you are worried about anything, just come to me, and I'll be happy to show you."
Jade took a step back and nodded.
"Trey!" called a butler, "Your father and mother request you at once."
"I'll be there in a moment." Trey looks back at Jade, "Again, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Trey left, leaving Jade with mixed emotions. But he did feel dread when he looked at himself again.
💔
Realize the price that you paid with your voice
As he turns from you
Those sacrifices you made were a choice
That you can't undo
💔
Jade stumbled onto the porch, looking out the window and to the ocean that was so far from his reach. He just wanted to sink and disappear.
💔
Lost for the first time
Scared for the first time
Gravity feels like an undertow pulling me down
💔
Jade took a small sigh and rested against the pillows, trying to fall asleep. His door opening caused him to look at the person. Azul.
"How are you…holding up?" Azul asked, walking over and sitting by him. "I heard that one of the prince's came around?"
Jade looked away and just nodded, not denying Azul's claim. But he didn't want to think about it, and his refusal to think about it was quite obvious.
"Jade, you shouldn't mope," Azul huffed, "We are only here for a week and we need to make this week count. So you get on your feet and let's explore." Jade rolls his eyes and gets up from the porch. "And no more mopping. People will notice."
Jade took a breath and put his hand on his chest, smiling his usual smile. Even when it's fake, Jade knew how to calm himself down.
💔
Floyd wandered the halls, completely bored. He was awake for an hour when the maid left him alone, but it gave him time to successfully sneak off. He knew that people would catch him if he was found, but like in the sea, he was very sneaky about his movement, avoiding anyone who was nearby. Floyd would call it a special gift that he uses it his advantage. But he heard footsteps nearby so he went inside the nearest room he was close to. What luck, Floyd thought to himself. He took a moment to look at the room. His eyes widen as he looked at so many items crowded around the room, reminding him of his own grotto.
Though, it was stuff found underneath the waves, like special rocks that held so many secrets. One of the things was his bag of items that he left in heartbreak.
However, the footsteps were closer, causing Floyd to find a hiding spot behind a massive pile of human stuff. The footsteps entered the room, stopping for a moment. Floyd's eyes try to look at the stranger, though it was difficult because of the stuff clouding his vision. But he watched as the stranger began to take his bag and look into it. He took out the red shell he wanted to gift Riddle, and held onto it. He watched how the stranger walked to the shelf Floyd was hiding behind. He leaned down to try to hide but his eyes met with the familiar grey of…
Riddle.
Riddle stumbled back and keep the shell in his grip, clearly startled by the stranger.
"Who are you?" he demanded, "get out! Why are you here?"
Floyd walked out, undecided if he were to act aloof or jump onto Riddle in happiness. However, Floyd didn't have to do anything as he felt Riddle's arms wrapped around him into a strange hug.
"Floyd," Riddle spoke softly, "…it's really you? I'm not hallucinating, am I? Please tell me that this isn't my guilt for finding ways to harm me more…I already regret everything…please." Riddle's pleads ended with a small sob.
Floyd quickly immediately wiped Riddle's tears and smiled at him, a smile that Riddle could easily recognize. "It's you!" Riddle gasps, looking up at him, "What…your on land..and you're human?" Riddle stepped back to take a look at Floyd, surprised. "What happened to you…"
Floyd thought for a moment but nothing came to mind, just like nothing came to mouth.
"Floyd? Why can't you tell me?..Are you still upset at me?" Floyd looks around, now finding any way to tell Riddle about his current condition. A book about sea monsters caught his attention and he took it, before trying to find a page that could resemble a sea witch but he couldn't read human language.
"Floyd? What are you doing?" Floyd huffed and sits down on a chair.
"Oh, I see," Riddle took the book, "..are you trying to tell me something?"
Floyd nodded and looks into the book again. He pointed at the words he could recognize, starting with the sea.
"Sea? That's the first word."
Floyd nodded and tried to look for his second word, but nothing came up. So he tried to think about it and looked at a new book. A book of fairytales he remembered Riddle mentioned. Happy, he took the book and pointed at the witch of Hansel and Gretel, giving Riddle the second word. "Witch? Sea witch?" Riddle put together but his expression turned serious.
"You went to a sea witch? The ones that you describe are dangerous if encountered?"
Floyd sheepishly nodded.
"But she would've took something..right?" Floyd sighs and rubs his throat. "…your voice? You gave the sea witch your own voice for…legs." Riddle stopped for a moment before looking back at Floyd, "Because of me. You did all of this..because of me."
Floyd didn't want to admit it, because he can already tell that Riddle was very guilted ridden from what happened.
"It is."
Floyd had to nod. But he took Riddle's hand and held them within his, a small reassurance that Riddle needed.
"I..I'm so sorry about that I said. It was just an attemped to keep you safe but I…I felt so lonely without you trying to call me when you find something new. I mean.." Floyd grins. Riddle's face began to turn red, stammering over his words.
"We should get going," Riddle bubbled, "Dinner starts in five minutes and I don't want to be late."
Floyd gave Riddle a knowing look.
'Same old Goldfishie,' he thought to himself as Riddle leads him to the dining hall.
💔
"Those visitors seem to be interesting," Julius spoke to Trey, "being found from the ocean itself. Maybe it's a sigh, Trey, my boy."
"A sign?" Trey questioned. Trey looks outside and into the ocean, remembering his savior's melody in his once again. He took a moment before answering. "I'm not sure I get it, Father," Trey spoke.
"Well, considering that those two look quite similar to your drawings, I would assume you recognize at least one of them," Julius grins, "Especially the calm one, he had that vibe you have previously told me."
Trey took a thought. Did he feel that vibe from them? He only met one of the unnamed visitors and they seemed nervous and standoffish, so Trey wasn't able to form anything yet. But maybe due to the small amount of time, Trey hasn't been able to take his time. Footsteps took Trey's attention.
"And this is the ballroom, Floyd," He heard Riddle explain as he walked in with the same visitor. Or was it another?
"Ah, Riddle, you seem to have met one of our guests," Julius smiles, "It's nice to see you two get along. And you," he looks at the guest, "are you also having a good time?"
"He has a name, Father," Riddle intervened, "his name is Floyd. Floyd Leech."
The guest known as Floyd makes a toothy grin as he bows towards them.
"Don't forget us, Floyd," spoke a new guest.
Two new guests walked in and Trey's eyes were immediately transfixed on the guest that slowly followed the first. He was the guest that Trey was introduced to, but he had an air to him that Trey somehow recognized as a nice and calming air.
"Oh, that's fantastic," Julius laughs, "Trey, this man is Azul Ashengrotto, and he will be our main man. Isn't that great? Trey, my boy?"
Trey has been distracted, and everyone knew it. But he couldn't stop staring at the old guest in front of him. He noticed a patient smile and soft eyes that made Trey's heartache. He's very elegant, standing with a poise that could rival even royalty, Trey thought. He carefully walked over to the guest and bowed again.
"Hello again," Trey greeted, "It is nice to see you again. I'm afraid we haven't gotten the time to actually know each other. Let me reintroduce myself, I am Prince Trey, but please, my guest, you can just refer to me as Trey. And what is yours?"
The guest's silence has become more silent as no sound was produced when they think. But his eyes went to a jewel on Trey's coat and touched it carefully.
'Is it a sign?' Trey thought to himself.
"Are you looking at my jade?" Trey asked, "It belonged to my mother and…what is it?" The guest smiles as he pats the jewel on the coat once again and points to himself as if to send a message. "Jade..your name? Is it Jade?"
The guest nodded.
"Oh, ok…Jade," Trey beamed, "I like it. It's very beautiful."
Jade smiles and bows.
"For all the hassle, you could've just introduced him," Riddle whispered to Azul, "Especially since it seems that they both can't talk."
"And why would I be so cruel to interrupt such a beautiful romantic moment between them?" Azul questioned. "It seems you do not know the sort."
"About romance? Doubtful," Riddle sneered, "Just what happened to them? And I need answers and a real one. Why does Floyd have legs, and why is he with the both of you?"
"I suppose telling you wouldn't be a breach of contract," Azul pondered for a moment, "But how do I know you would believe me?"
"I already know of the deal," Riddle spoke up, "Floyd was able to translate it to me earlier but I need more insight about sea witches and the extent of the deal. This is dangerous from what Floyd has told me, and now…you are all here, so I do deserve a different perspective."
Floyd looks at Azul, nodding that it was ok to tell Riddle, even when Azul has doubts.
"Alright," Azul conceded, "My aunt is the sea witch that gave out the deal. For an entire week, Floyd and Jade must get their respective love interests to kiss, a kiss of true love." Riddle's face began to blush at the mention of true love's kiss. He always found it as a strange custom, strange but lovely to young Riddle. But now, he was flustered now he was on the receiving end of it all.
"Continue," "But if the sun sets on the 7th day, the end of the week, they would…and this wasn't even mentioned by my blasted aunt, but they will transform into," Azul took a hesitant breath, "sea foam. They no longer exist and will just be her pawn for all eternity."
"But isn't that equivalent to death?" Riddle asked, "They just.."
Floyd took Riddle's hand and took a small squeeze, calming Riddle.
"Regardless, I won't let that happen, but we need to be discret," Riddle sighs, "My mother will find out one way or another that you aren't from here, so we must be on our guard." Loud clicks of heels echoed in the halls, causing Riddle to flinch.
"I suppose that's your mother?"
"Yes."
"And I want to make sure our guests have nice rooms during their stay." Queen Icabeth Rosehearts ordered, walking towards the dining area with a maid beside her."And a nice tour of our kingdom."
"Yes, your highness." The Maid answered.
"Thank you," Icabeth smiles."Now everyone, sit down. Food is on the way."
As ordered, everyone sat down by the dining table as appetizers were given around and tea was poured into lovely tea cups. Though the trio were surprised by how hot it was and easily burned their tounges.
"Now I am aware that only one of you can talk. Am I right?" She asked Azul, sipping her tea, "Must be quite the struggle to deal with that."
"Yes, ma'am," Azul answered. "I do thank you for letting us stay." "Although I do need some answers. Your predicament is odd to me. You have survived a shipwreck from a storm, and you drifted here. Just the 3 of you?"
"Yes, ma'am. Our sailors have perished during the storm." Azul spoke with fake sadness.
"Oh, that must be hard." Julian sighs, "I have sorrow for them."
"Please do not worry, we will prepare a memorial once we get back to our kingdom of Novaselic. But knowing how shaken we are, we request a week's stay. Will that be alright?"
"Of course," Julius consoled, "Take the time you need to grieve."
Julius then looked at Riddle. "Riddle, you seem to know one of our guest very well, do you two have some form of histroy?"
Riddle takes a small sip of his tea before answering, "We have met and have been sending letters to each other since then. However, I did not expect them to visit on such a notice. Floyd can be reckless like that, so I don't know what I was expecting."
Floyd grins.
After a moment, the food arrived and the feast began, with Azul carrying the conversation for three but it was easier that way. Though he was uncomfortable with the thought of eating seafood, what was more disturbing was that Jade and Floyd ate without much hesitation.
During the dinner, Floyd looks down at the dinglehopper, gasps at it, and begins to hold it. He smiles and starts to brush his hair, unaware of the odd stares that he was getting.
"Floyd!" Riddle gasped, taking the fork, "What are you doing?!"
"Riddle, you know we don't yell at the table. Especially when we have guests." Icabeth lectured, eating her food.
"Sorry, Mother."
"Floyd, please put it down," Azul ordered and Floyd pouted putting the dinglehopper down.
"People in Novasolic are an odd bunch." Muttered Icabeth.
💔
Floyd silently yawns as he rests on a fluffy bed, gasping as he sinks into it. He begins to jump onto the bed, looking over at Azul. Azul smiles."Comfy?" Floyd nods happily, getting up from his bed to start brushing his hair with the dinglehopper once again. But he couldn't help but go back to the bed once again, holding on to the pillows.
"You seem so calm down, considering your situation," Azul mutters, sitting by Floyd's bed, "but rest now, Floyd, you defiantly need some rest for tomorrow."
Azul watches as Floyd slowly began to sleep. He smiles and puts a blanket on Floyd before leaving his room to his own.
Jade, on the other hand, was watching the sea waves swish slowly as they glowed with the moonlight. He remembers those nights when he and Floyd watch the stars above the sea at night. Barks got his attention as he looks down. Shortcake was barking at Trey as he was playing his flute. It made him smile at the beautiful tune. Jade got up from his bed and walks over to the patio, listening more. Shortcake saw and began to bark at Jade, alerting Trey about his presence.
"Shortcake has taken a liking to you." Trey chuckles, settling her down and petting her. "That means you're special. And I agree with her, I think you're very special, Jade."
Jade blushes and looks down. He lets out a silent yawn.
"Get some rest, now. Tomorrow is going to be a big day." Trey recommended, "Town is not easy to be in when you are incredibly tired." Jade nodded and waved goodbye, walking back inside.
"I'm sure it's him, Shortcake," Trey hummed, "He's just..so extraoridinary and I need to make sure if it's really him, voice or no voice. We just have to wait." Trey looks back at the balcony and walks back inside the castle, with Shortcake happily trotting behind him.

Mini Fanfic #1111: Cuddling Hedgehogs (Sonic)
11:16 a.m. at Amy's House's Living Room.......
TV: Oh Sasuke~ Just come back home soon, will ya?
Amy: (Cuddling Under a Blanket With Sonic While Sitting on the Sofa Together, Rolling her Eyes) Who wanna bet he he'll be gone for a month this time?
Sonic: I'll him two to three months tops.
Amy: (Turns to her Boyfriend) Oh come on, who would be that cruel and crazy enough to leave for THAT long? ('Sigh') Then again this is Sasuke we're talking about, so its possible.....
Sonic: Yep. That Sakura chick could've done a lot better honestly.
Amy: Right!? She has so many options and yet she chose to marry SASUKE of that people?
Sonic: (Shrugs) The guy been having good looks since his academy years.
Amy: (Starts Pouting) Good looks doesn't mean jack-squat when you go out betraying everyone you know in the village and try murdering your teammates more than once!
Sonic: (Speaks in a Sarcastic Tone) But Amy, Sasuke was their dear friend and teammate! And he's been through soooo much trauma too.
Amy: AND!? Naruto has been wrongfully hated by the entire Leaf Village ever since he was little boy, but you don't see him going around joining the Akatsuki to destroy it! That jerk should be lucky Naruto care enough not to put him behind bars for the rest of his dumb life.....
Sonic: Or have him exiled altogether. But yeah, Sakura should've married someone else. Like, Lee for example.
Amy: Oh my god, YESSSS! I don't care how bushy his brows are, Lee is such sweetheart and hard worker. (Looks Up at Sonic With a Smile on her Face) Kinda like you in a way.
Sonic: Seriously?
Amy: (Happily Snuggles onto Sonic) Yes, seriously!~ I mean, besides you being more lazy in comparison-
Sonic: Hey, I can be just as hard working as he can thank you!
Amy: (Forms a Teasing Smirk on her Face) Yeah, when laying around napping and eating chili dogs all day aren't involved.
Sonic: Taking naps are essential for having a relaxing day and don't you dare insult the exquisite masterpiece that are chili dogs
Amy: How are hot dogs covered in chili exquisite in any capacity?
Sonic: They looks and taste good obviously. And they're the town's favorite, so there! (Crosses his Arms With a Satisfied Smirk on his Face)
Amy: (Sighs While Rolling her Eyes) Anyways, while you can be such a lazy hog at times....(Smiles Softly) You're just as sweet and helpful as Brushy Brown was. And it's all the more reason why I've fallen over heels for you~ (Kiss Sonic on the Cheek)
Sonic: (Chuckles Lightly While Blushing a Little) Well, I'm glad I'm able to live up to the expectations with the handsome devil himself!~ (Grabs his Chin While Thinking) Speaking of which, you I would look good in that green suit of his or....nah?
Amy: I think so. (Starts Smirking Seductively) Not sure if you know this by now, but I just so happen to be fond of men in uniforms~
Sonic: (Smirks Back) Really now?~ Are you also fond of men giving you kisses all day long?~
Amy: (Giggles Softly) Yes please~
The couple leans forward to kiss one another on the lips, until the sudden sound of a ring tone startled them both.
'Follow me inside! Outside! Through the Stratosphere!~'
Amy: (Sighs Heavily While Pinching the Bridge of her Nose) Great........The meetings about to start.....
Sonic: (Raised an Eyebrow in Confusion) Meeting?
Amy: Remember that whole Resistance group me, Knuckles, and the others form a long while ago? Well, since then, we've been attending their meetings for some time, discussing how we keep the city safe from Eggman and other word level threats and most of which lasted for way too long that it makes me want to die!
Sonic: How long are we talking exactly?
Amy: Three to four hours. Five, whenever a heated debate starts. And the meeting is supposed be every Mondays and Wednesdays. What day is it today?
Sonic: Uh....Tuesday?
Amy: Exactly. So, tell me why we're having another today when we JUST had one last night!?
Sonic: Last night, huh? So that explains the bags under your eyes......
Amy: Yeah, hated how noticeable it is. ('Sigh') But there's really not much I can do right now, but to ao and-
Sonic: (Already on Amy's Phone) Wassup, Wassup! Sonic's the name, speed my game! And you've reached the house of the cute and awesome Amy Rose, who is not available at the moment. So please, be cool and leave her a message after the beep, will ya?
Knuckles: (On the Other Line) Sonic, what the hell are you-
Sonic: BEEEEEP BYE! (Quickly Ends the Call Before Letting Out a Relived Sigh) ('Phew') (Makes to Finger Guns With a Smirk on his Face) Piece of cake.
Amy: (Surprised by What Just Happened) Sonic, what did you just do!?
Sonic: Saved you from wasting three to five hours on another meeting. Now you get to spend the rest of the day relaxing and watching TV with yours truly.
Amy: You did all this for me?
Sonic: (Smiles Brightly) Of course! Now, i know it wasn't professional of me to up amd lie to them like that, i couldn't have my own girlfriend getting tired over some boring city meeting- (Immediately Gets Hug Tackled by his Girlfriend) -Oof!
Amy: (Happily Snuggles onto her Boyfriend) Ohh my sweet, darling, Sonic, I'll never forget this!~ Thank you so much!~ But you do realize Knuckles is gonna eventually kill the both of us, right?
Sonic: (Shrugs) Eh. We can deal with Knucklehead some other time. (Gives Amy a Seductive Smirk of his Own) In the meantime, don'tcha think we've got some unfinished business to start on right now?~ With only to the two of us can handle~
Amy: (Smirks Back) Come to Momma Rose~
The couple continues their cuddle session by snuggling and kissing one another on the kiss. For a moment it was a start of a very relaxing day for the both of them. That is until it came into screeching halt with a loud knocking sound.
'KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK'
Knuckles: (Outside on the Doorway) SONIC! AMY! I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!!
Sonic: Or we can deal with him now apparently......
Amy: ('Sighs in Defeat') So much for our free time.....
Knuckles: QUIT MESSING AROUND AND OPEN THIS DOOR NOOOOOOOW!!!

"Oi!! Sorry to keep you waiting!" Running towards the other gathered ladies, Kazuno waved to catch their attention., Kazeko close behind. "Everybody ready?"
"Yo! Yeah, we're all ready!" Shanna waved, Rose letting out a little sigh under her breath and folding her arms. "Good, you're safe." The twins greeted in reply, Rose stepping forward and gesturing for Shanna to choose a dance partner as suggested.
"Haa, just in time. The next song is about to begin." The elven woman gently gestured towards the skull, to let everybody know there's something up with it, sending a telepathic message to the two other stand users. "That skull is trouble. Don't stare at it."
One by one, the girls settled in with another and started moving to the music, covering their information exchange.
"We found some pretty telling things on our end... and you, dear?" Kazeko murmured as quiet as she could without being drowned out.
"Us, too. But go ahead. What have you discovered, Kazeko?" Rose muttered back, glancing over her shoulder.
"Well, we found what is definitely an entry point, probably for what's responsible for this. Claw marks on the balcony railing, and shoe scuffs in the carpet. Kazuno used a torch to look at the ground below, and there was no sign that anybody had been jumping down."
"That lines up perfectly with one of the things we learned." Replied the noble, spinning around her dance partner. "There've been sightings of a winged humanoid creature around this mansion. It must have been using the balcony for takeoff."
"We got two solid witness accounts." Kazuno spoke up as she shuffled over to the other twin, stopping with a swing. "A friend of one of the missing people said he raved like he was out of his mind, about a beautiful woman he just had to ask out, as if he would die if he didn't. And another kept hearing what sounded like a person growling whenever she got too close to this place at night!"
"Hmhmhm... it's all coming together..." Shanna started to smile. "We found a long lock of curly pink hair, and that clock upstairs? It wasn't broken, because it was battery operated and just removed from the wall. But yet the batteries were taken out, to forcibly stop the clock, but it wasn't placed back on the wall, as if this was all done in a hurry. So whoever it was didn't know how to work a modern day clock, and tried to trick everyone into staying longer. Perhaps to get more victims, or by chance, to give this being more time with its CURRENT victim." She closed her eyes in thought as she did a twirl, flaring her skirt.
"So, something that looks like a person, and crafty too... but doesn't have all its marbles together, huh?" Kazuno mused, smirking as a similar idea started to form.
"Not to mention the blood spatters I found on a candelabra." Kikumi interjected, backing up towards the others.
"A-and I've got a bloodstained scrap of fabric in my bag... I found it on my way downstairs...!" Kazeko replied once more, eyebrows upturned with worry. How many people had fallen victim...?
"Plus, would you believe it? We found Sakura here at this party, so we were able to get a witch's opinion on this! She said we have three choices from all the information she knows. Dragon, Succubus or Incubus, or a Chimera. Now, I know Chimeras, and so do you, Kazeko, Kazuno. You met Kyle and Koryea. I can't possibly imagine the reason for Chimeras to kidnap many victims and keep coming back for more. Plus I highly doubt a human mixed chimera would go after this many humans as well. Dragons are also meant to be guardians, so unless we're a danger to the Earth, it shouldn't be a dragon either. So. You thinking what I'm thinking, Rose?" Shanna looked over at her sister.
"I guarantee I am." Rose answered with a firm nod.
"I'm thinking... succubus. Are we all on the same page, ladies?" Kazuno piped up, cartwheeling close to the converging group.
"Definitely..." "Without a doubt." "Yep, it's gotta be!" "Mmhm." One by one, everyone confirmed their suspicions are the same, slowing to a stop as the song came to a close.
"Alright, everyone, let's go meet up with Sakura!" Shanna pointed a finger up to catch everyone's attention, and the brunette led the charge out of the foyer, everyone under the watchful eye of the skull looming menacingly over them...

An Evening Out - Rooster Bradshaw x Reader (top gun: maverick)
Summary: Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, aka your boyfriend, has a surprise date for you!
A/N: yep, ive fallen for miles teller. I can add him to the list of men who are substantially older than me that I would l o v e to be with. and oh my gosh, he was so gorgeous as rooster in top gun: maverick. So, I present to you, this quick and easy rooster x reader fic. I'm going to go watch tg:m again this week, so I'll get a better idea of their personality and characteristics for future stories! Also, I hope this isn't too romantic in a shallow type of way, all ive been reading lately is tough stories about loss and unsuitable romance partners, so I wanted to write something sweet to fill my mind :) also, I didn't proof read this as much as I normally would, so enjoy my chaotic world of words that I've concocted. Thanks for reading my stories! I LOVE YOU - Mac xx
"Hey," Rooster says with notes of apology caressing through his voice, closing the car door and running around to your side of the street, "I'm sorry I was late."
You date was set to begin well over 10 minutes ago when your boyfriend rooster was supposed to pick you up. You had called, texted, and received nothing in reply, so you had decided to sit on your porch and wait a little while longer, until the sun was set beyond the horizon, or you heard from rooster, whichever came first.
You walked down the stairs slowly, without saying anything, until you were standing directly across from your boyfriend. You looked up, your eyes meeting his, a smile written across your face.
Rooster put his hand on your shoulder, you could feel the warmth of it radiating through the sleeve of your blouse. His brandy eyes were gazing deeply into yours, god how involve the two of you were. "There was a big accident blocking the freeway, and you know that people don't know how to merge here."
A chuckle escaped your lips and you stretched up on your tip-toes and planted a gentle kiss on his lips. You felt rooster's arms wrap around your waist as he leant down to properly kiss you. The kiss was long and subtle and it made you feel untroubled and content with the world.
After the kiss had finished, you stood, still grinning, "Its alright. These things happen sometimes."
"I'm just glad you're here," you said.
"Since we've missed the reservation, what do you say we go to the beach instead?" Rooster asked you, sliding his arm around your waist.
"That sounds perfect!"
You hopped in Rooster's car, which was a vintage convertible that had belonged to his parents. The car was a gorgeous shade of deep merlot. It had contemporary beige seats that extended all the way through the car, and a radio that only played 60's music. It needed some work, but its flaws is what made it admirable, and its memories is what made rooster cherish it even more.
So, the two of you drove, in the shades of the late night sun along the coast, the wind in your hair, not a care in the world, blasting frankie Valli. The beaches were all busy, and there wasn't a parking spot to be found, so rooster took a drive onto the base, which wasn't too much further, through the gates, until the two of you were at generals beach.
There was the occasional person or couple walking on the sand, but everyone seemed to be further along the coast, meaning that the beach would be practically empty just for you and your boyfriend to relax upon.
As you climbed out of the car, rooster was busy collecting something he had put in the trunk. When he came around the front, you found that he was carrying one of his navy hoodies with the top gun logo on it, and a paper bag from the farmers market.
"What is all of this?" you asked happily.
"Surprise," he said, "now lets go find a spot before the sun sets."
You laughed, slipping your arm around his waist, "I don't think we'll have much trouble with that."
The two of you walked up close to the water, and set down your things in a spot just far enough away that it wouldn't be damaged by the waves.
You took a seat beside rooster, who was busy laying down a towel, unpacking the contents of the brown paper bag.
He pulled out a container of finger sandwiches, a small carton of juicy red strawberries, and a small clear container of popcorn.
"Rooster!" you exclaimed, "Did you plan all of this?"
He pulled out a bottle of expensive looking champagne, and two flute glasses, and smirked "Do you think I ride around with this stuff in my car all the time?"
You laughed, "This was such a great surprise!"
The two of you ate your sandwiches, you enjoyed your cucumber ones, and rooster who couldn't stand them, enjoyed his ham and cheese ones. You fed each other strawberries, and then laughed over how cliche it was, all while watching the sun setting.
The rays of tangerine were cast upon the two of you, who were sitting peacefully in the sun, pleased with the world.
"God," you sighed to your boyfriend, "You always make everything so good for me. Too good!"
Rooster looked over to you with something more than love written across his eyes, "I like to try to y/n. You've been there for me through it all."
You flopped back, laying down in the sand, "You're so perfect it physically hurts."

Stretching, you place the last bit of streamer across his windowsill. You had decided on rainbow ones after asking him, he cheekily replied he liked all colors so that's what he is getting. At least he made it easier for you, it seemed as though the stores nearby only carried rainbow decorations. It would have been torture if it was a specific, somehow niche, favorite color. Many of the poppers and balloons were from the convenience store. Things were cheap there and you had planned to save your wallet at least a little. Although with the amount of items you knew you were going to buy, you had asked Ann and Makoto to help carrying some bags back. Sojiro questioned it only once, but the raise of his brow at your antics was enough to get his amusement across.
Ann and Makoto had left close to.. an hour ago. It felt as if it had been fifteen minutes at most. Setting up his room was a lot of fun though, especially when you'd think of his reaction. His usual arrival would be within the hour too, you couldn't help but wiggle your toes. You double checked everything before hurrying downstairs for the cake you got him. It had been the most expensive birthday item you got him by far, but you knew that when you wanted to get something custom made. Everything for a price!
Once you came down, Sojiro was quick to greet you. "Welcome back, you rustled a lot up there." With a shake of your head, you shuffle to the counter, "Yep, anything for Ren." It pulled a chuckle from him, "Guessing you want the cake?" It took him a few steps to reach the kitchen to retrieve it. "Correct, sir Sakura!" He sluggishly opened the door to the fridge, huffing, "You kids and your nicknames." His voice was nothing if not fond. He liked his kids and their ridiculous nicknames, you doubted he'd be able to hide it. "Hurry upstairs, I'll bring the cake." You knew he wouldn't take no for an answer on this one so you returned to the stairs, and Ren's room, once again.
Time passed slowly, boredom creeping in as you awaited your partners arrival. You were tempted to play one of his cartridge games, but what if he got home whilst you were playing it? You wanted to be ready to wish him a happy birthday as soon as he came up those wooden stairs. So you waited, sitting on the little sofa pushed against his wall. And then waited.... and waited. The sky had grown dark and Sojiro announced he was closing for the evening. Where was Ren? Maybe he was working at the beef bowl place.. they keep him for a while, usually. Wait, isn't he the only employee during his hours?
You let your thoughts quiet down and began listening to the soft sounds outside LeBlanc. The cars of the highway were faint, but somehow just as loud as normal. An occasional motorcycle would speed by, sometimes followed by a honk. It distracted you from the tugging in your chest for a little bit, at least until the highway sounds lessened. You were left to the random chirps of birds and maybe a meow in a nearby alley. The wind blew against some chimes. Your nose burned. Why was it so silent? And.. where was he?
There was a ding downstairs and the same creak you'd hear when entering the café. Your body felt tense, but you managed to unravel yourself from the ball you retreated in to. You saw Morgana first, his quick prancing getting him up the stairs faster than Ren. He meowed when he saw you, although he also turned his head back around toward Ren. Soon, your partners fluffy hair rised from the stairs too. "(Y/n)?" He hadn't even seen you, how did he know? "..hey, Ren." You watched as his eyes widened, his hands sliding his bag onto the shelved table against the railing once he reached the attic. "Happy birthday." He frowned.
It became harder to see as he hurried toward you, but you felt his arms; his warmth. He wrapped you in a tight embrace, "I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry." His whispers tickled your skin just as his thumbs did your cheeks. "Wh-where were you, Ren..?" His sigh was heavy, it rushed across your nose, "With Ryuji and Yusuke- they.. we went out for my birthday. To the arcade." You nodded your head, sniffling, "O..okay." But then you heard him sniffle, "Ren..? Are you okay?" He pressed a light kiss to your cheek, nestling his face in your neck a moment later. "I should have let you know.." Brushing your fingers through his hair, you sigh, "It's.. okay now, we can still do what I set up?" He lifted his head up, his glasses nudged and tilted, "Can we?"
A small cleanup of tears and snot insued, but soon after you found yourself uncasing the small cake from it's tomb with a certain raven sat across from it. He was fiddling with a metallic blowout as you pushed a few candles into the whipped frosting. "Seven?" He quipped playfully. "There aren't any seventeen ones, so suck it up, pretty." You scrunched your nose at him with a laugh, smiling as he grinned. Grabbing the lighter Sojiro left on the table, you light the candles, being mindful of the flames and placement of your hand as you went. But, instead of singing, you went to his side, pressing a kiss to his cheek, "..happy birthday, Ren." You flinched at the crinkle his blowout made as he blew into it, before giggling at, and with, him. "Thank you, (Y/n)."
"Mhm- Now, c'mon! Blow out your candles before I do!"

I might be a newbie, but does jimin just... not carry his luggage sometimes? And jungkook carries it for him? Does anyone else do this? I'm assuming it's because of his shoulder, but that's the most domestic thing I've seen from them. Jungkook is such a boyfriend. He literally exudes casually devoted partner vibes. And he loves being that for jimin
Hi baby anon! I'm so glad you joined us here at ARMY! You've fallen into a rabbithole, but never fear, we Jeon-Park house elves are here to help. Our motto is "we don't have to ship a couple who ships themselves" and in this house we love and support all seven BTS members. We just maybe love the Jeon-Parks a teensy bit extra. You are correct in that Jungkook is an entire baggage handler of a man. Not that Jimin can't or won't carry his own bags - he does, often. But if JeiKei is there and especially if they are airporting, most of the time you will see him carrying Jimin's bag or carrying one larger bag while Jimin wears a crossbody or carries something smaller (or nothing at all). Stay with me a second and I'll explain why because there are reasons.
First, Jungkook usually travels with a camera. The one he used to use most often is a Canon SLR or DSLR with multiple lenses and accessories, so there's a lot going on in his bag to begin with. So, since he's carrying a whole suitcase to go anywhere anyway, Jimin seems to often be traveling lightly by comparison (unless you count that he has been known to pack an entire backpack of skin care products. This dude takes personal maintenance seriously.)
Jimin often being the subject of the photography he is not only good about letting his man take pics but also about buying him the actual bag when he needs more space. In 2018 Jiminie splashed out on a $3500 Vuitton Keepall Bandouliere in black leather for Koo's birthday. You'd think given all the free stuff they get from LV he could have scored that on his own but.... it means more when your man buys it.
Second, Jimin has a long history of thoracic, neck and shoulder pain stemming from chronic dance injuries. This happens most often in dancers who spot during pirouettes or turns (Jimin does) and who are stable through their hips and leg joints (he is) but flexible in the spine (ding ding ding). Jungkook is mindful of this and it shows. Not only does he kinda not like Jimin carrying heavier things, you'll also see him rubbing or massaging Jimin's neck and shoulder with varying degrees of intensity and precision. Koo worries okay. As a result, JeiKei has a tendency to do the heavy lifting as much as Jimin will let him. Which kinda depends on the day.
And last but totally not least, it's boyfriend culture. Especially in Korea, where one clue (aside from matchy-matchy outfits) to a couple's relationship is... yep. Dude carrying his man or girl's stuff. It's cute, right? Like "oh here babe let ME THE BIG STRONG MANLY MAN get that for you" which: yes Koo is those things but Koo is also a delicate flower so it's even cuter. It's just one of those casual attached boyfie things he does.
In conclusion, they gay they in love they are so domestic it’s tooth-rotting and I adore them.

Character Thomas Brodie Sangster
Couple Thomas X Reader
Rating Sweet + Flirty
Concept The Bride In Black Series
Once we arrived I parked up and grabbed my stuff a little nervous to wake him as he has fallen asleep during the journey.
"Thomas?"
"Hum? Oh. We there?"
"Yes we are."
"Ah. Sorry darling" he yawns climbing out and having a stretch "how long was I asleep?"
"About three hours?"
"Oh. That explains why I'm so hungry."
"Come on then we'll get take out"
"Take out? That where we snipe someone?"
"No Thomas just. Just come"
"Isn't it usually me telling you that darling"
"Shut up and walk Thomas or this is going to be a very long eternity for you." I told him hurrying up to my apartment and he followed behind me trying not to get lost, I opened it up seeing the pile of post on the floor and the general state I left the place in. I let him inside and shut the door up a little nervous as he looked around the place "so…"
"This is your apartment?"
"Yes."
"This is where you loved before we met?"
"Yes."
"... I like it."
"You do?"
"Yeah. It's cosy. Very you my darling" he smiled giving my cheek a kiss "this the only bed?"
"Yep"
"Why is it in the living room?"
"It's a studio apartment Thomas there like that"
"I see. The bathroom has a wall right?"
"Wall but no door."
"How much rent do you pay?"
"23."
"That's kinda-"
"Thousand"
"Excuse me?"
"23,000 per two months"
"....... You - you don't even have a fireplace!"
"I know"
"Oh my darling" he Cooes hugging me tightly giving me a million kisses "when we get home I will let.you decorate and renovate however you want"
"Really?'
"Yes. You need it after living in this."
"Thank you" I smiled taking our stuff to the bedroom and immediately he came and laid in the bed
"I already miss home"
"Aww my apartment that bad?"
"No. I'll get use to it" he laughed pulling me into bed with him "besides I have you to keep me cosy" he smiled giving me a kiss "also you haven't been here since before the wedding have you?"
"No."
"Yeah. Just… vampire senses. And I'm telling you. A throwaway that whole fridge nothing can be saved. B your gonna wanna rewash that laundry. And C… I think your bathroom has mold. Or damp"
"Oh. Thank you"
"Your welcome." He smiled "also did you have any… smutty little toys?"
"I might have' I blushed
"Yeah I know where they are too then"
"How?"
"Vampire senses."
"Or you being a pervert"
"You are the first girlfriend I've done anything physical with in over six hundred years give me some credit for being a horny little bastard."
"No" I giggled giving him a kiss
I hurried back to my apartment having gone shopping for things while we were here, I unlocked the door and headed inside seeing Thomas folding laundry
"Hello sweetie" I smiled
"Hello darling" he cooes "How was shopping?"
"Very good"
"did you get everything?"
"I did and I got you a present from the discounted Halloween section"
"Ohhh a present!" he smiled bolting over "what did my lovely darling buy me?"
"Blood pack" I smiled handing over the little blood bag
"Ohhh they sell this in stores?"
"Around Halloween" I smiled
"thank you very much my love" he cooes giving my cheek a kiss and immediately bitting through the plastic to drink the blood he took a couple of slurps before he stopped and glared at me taking it from his mouth. "this is no blood. I have ever tasted."
"It's a blood bag" I giggled
"if this is what people's blood tastes like now people have a sugar problem"
"Well... yes. but it's candy Thomas"
"Oh. I was excited for blood" he sighed "not for candy"
"I'm sorry Thomas"
"It's fine. can I maybe have some real blood tonight?"
"If you're good"
I sat in bed flipping though my magazine all the while my spare hand was in my lap stroking his soft hair, Thomas had a bath earlier and was now laid in his boxers and a little shirt across the bed with his head in my lap often pressing little kisses to my thighs if ever I stopped stroking his hair he'd whine, if ever I tried to move my hand away he pout and move my hand back.
"You are such a baby"
"Why?"
"That I have to keep sitting here Petting you"
"But I'm cosy. And I wanna spend time snuggled with my beautiful darling"
"Ummm"
"Umm?"
"Ummm. I'm suspicious of you"
"Your always suspicious of me"
"Your an immortal vampire with various superhuman abilities I never trust you. I don't know what you know"
"You accept I know everything it's going to be a much easier eternity for you being married to me"
"I suppose" I giggled stroking his hair some more "Thomas?"
"Yes my darling?"
"You being nuzzled in my lap constantly has nothing to do with me being on a period does it?"
".... No." He answered sheepishly
"Thomas?" I warn
"I uhh I didn't even know you -"
"There is blood leaking out of me your a vampire don't you dare tell me you didn't know"
"I may have known"
"May have? Says the man who knew what room I was in Inside a mansion based on smell of my blood alone"
"And your body heat" he adds
"Who knew I had cut my hand from literally two feet away"
"Fine I know"
"I knew it"
"To be fair I knew since yesterday'
"How it only started this morning?"
"No the blood only came out of you this morning it started yesterday I know I can smell it in your hormones. And the actual blood. And your boobs are perky, your boobs always get perky around a period'
"Not that you notice?"
"I observe my darling" he Cooes
"That's why your nuzzled in my lap isn't it?'
"Kinda. That and your lap is cosy. I like being cuddled up with my lovely darling wife. But yes the fact your bleeding does make me feel nice down here"
"Why?"
"... Image your at a fancy restaurant. And there is a beautiful chocolate fountain that smells of gorgeous chocolate. You wanna sit on the table next to the fountain so you can smell the deliciousness or do you wanna sit by the window where's it's cold lonely and you only get little hints of that beautiful chocolate smell"
"Fair enough" I laughed
"Speaking of which"
"Ummm?"
"Maybe I… taste the chocolate fountain?"
'that's gross Thomas"
"What! It's going to go in the bin anyway! I could always help clean up" he suggested kissing my thighs "I promise it'll make me darling feel much better"
"No Thomas"
"Please. It smells so good"
"No Thomas. That's final"
"Fine." He sighed sitting up his hair now a mess "can I drink from somewhere else then?"
"Your not supposed to you know" I remind him "you where meant to wait till we where married till we mated"
"But I can't help it. My human wife tastes so good"
"I'll think about it"

𝑀𝑦 𝐺𝑖𝑟𝑙 (𝑆𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑔ℎ𝑤𝑎×𝑅𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟)
Part Two / Part Three/ Part Four
Pairing: Bad boy! Park Seonghwa (Ateez)/ Reader (Female)
Genre: Fluff, Angst, School AU.
Summary: Y/N never cared about a lot, her only goal was to get through college as quickly as possible. One day, she makes eye contact with the notorious bad boy class and unintentionally glares at him. Did she just screw up her peaceful school life?
Requested by a very close friend who better appreciate this or else :) ♡
· · • • • ✤ • • • · ·· · • • • ✤ • • • · ·· · • • • ✤ • • • · ·
12:53
Only 2 minutes had passed since Y/N had looked at the clock, but it felt like an eternity. She always did hate computer science. Not because she felt it was difficult or kept her up at all hours of the night trying to finish the assigned tasks, that was more of a biochemistry thing. It was because although her professor was really excellent at teaching them and helping them maneuver all the software, he had an awful tendency to leave early, sometimes up to half an hour, and just let them do as they pleased. While some decided to watch stupid cat videos, browse through their social media, others went as far as to play video games or even go onto some questionable websites that more than once made her cringe with disgust.
Y/N often just sat there, either finishing up assignments for her other classes or bored to death, waiting for it to be 1pm so she could go off campus and get something to eat. Having forgotten to eat breakfast, even a simple untoasted bagel cause she accidentally overslept through her alarm, she could really use some fuel in her system. She was tired, hungry and therefore moody, which was never a good combination.
12:56
She groaned softly and let her head fall back on the head of the chair. She closed her eyes, not caring about dozing off right then and there in front of the whole class. What would they care? They're too immersed in their narcissistic fake Instagram lives or their sadomasochistic porn desires to pay attention to her. In fact, no one ever really payed attention to her and she didn't care. She liked it that way. Invisible, unseen. It meant no one bothered her and no distractions from her only goal in life. No one seemed to notice or even look at her.
That's what she believed. But for some odd reason she couldn't shake off a weird feeling of someone watching her. She slowly opened her eyes and was indeed met with a pair of dark, glassy eyes staring right at her. Dark eyes sitting on top of a perfectly straight nose, small luscious pink lips accompanying a sharp jawline only complimenting the rest of his heavenly features.
Park Seonghwa.
If someone were to ask Y/N her honest opinion of him, she'd probably respond:
"I don't know. Everyone is afraid of him and everyone tells horror stories though."
Yes, he had a reputation for being the school's bad boy. She's personally never actually seen him be violent towards anyone, but she had heard about fights that often happened at the football field, always ending in his apparent victory. She never payed mind to such stories, frankly she didn't even care. She had even forgotten that he was in the same class as her, up until this very moment.
She somehow expected him to look away, but he didn't. He kept his gaze locked on hers. In any other circumstance, she would have looked away, but something about his stare kept her from looking away. The corners of his lips were slightly curled upward, almost as if they were forming a soft smile. That could just be his lip shape though, after all, she's never actually looked at him closely. His eyes as well had a particular glow to them, and if she wasn't in such a bad mood maybe....just maybe, she would have felt her cheeks heat up and turn a baby pink shade. But she simply looked away after a minute of staring into his eyes. Wait...was it a minute?
12:58
Yep. Pretty much around that time. 2 minutes left until her torture ended. Maybe if she looked at it hard enough, maybe time would go faster. Foolish thought but it is often said that the mind works wonders. Although in this case it seemed to be doing the opposite of what she wanted. And she still felt the same pair of eyes staring at her. So turning back she found she was correct.
Only this time instead of curled lips and glowy eyes, she was met with furrowed eyebrows and a clenched jaw. Now she felt a shiver ran down her spine as Seonghwa glared at her, almost as if he was threatening her. And it truly was menacing.
The light twinkling of a bell signaled that it was 1pm and time to leave. Y/N grabbed her books that were out in front of her desktop and quickly shoved them in her book bag as if it was an Olympic sport. She nearly tripped as she scurried out of the classroom, ignoring the throbbing pain on her shin which had collided with the leg of the chair. All she knew is that she didn't want to stay long enough to figure out if all the stories she heard about Park Seonghwa were true or not. So she practically ran out of the campus, completely forgetting about her hunger or tiredness. She was fully awake now and her stomach felt sick that she couldn't possibly even think about taking a bite out of anything.
Meanwhile the man she left behind at the classroom stood there in shock, his mouth letting out a soft scoff at her behavior. He shook his head as he picked up his jacket that was hanging on his chair and a notebook that had fallen out a few feet away from the row of computers in front of him. His mind was already working, planning on how to deal with this.
· · • • • ✤ • • • · ·· · • • • ✤ • • • · ·· · • • • ✤ • • • · ·
I heard he was pissed.
Seriously?
Didn't you hear the way he slammed the door?
She must have done something to piss him off.
I don't know, all I know is that Seonghwa was fuming while muttering something about giving it to her.
Whoever she is, she sounds as good as dead.
That's what Y/N overheard some girls gossiping about while she was in the bathroom. Now half of the school was hell bent on finding out who was the mysterious girl who dared glare at Seonghwa and what he'd do to her. That's practically what the school thrived on: gossip and drama. And frankly, she wanted no part in it.
So for the next week, she completely changed her usual routine. She purposefully used routes that she'd never gone through before to attend her classes, she refused to eat at any nearby cafes around the neighborhood, and she went as far as to not physically attend her computer science course. One of the blessings of a course involving a computer was the fact she could do it right at home and she decided to take full advantage of it. And she most certainly avoided any places where she knew Seonghwa and his group of friends tended to hang around in.
She was scared, she was willing to admit that. Scared of whatever Seonghwa was planning for her, scared of it becoming the new school gossip and overall just terrified. So even if it was a pain and hassle to go to such extremes, she wanted to avoid the confrontation at all times and she thought she was doing a fairly good job.
Apparently not good enough.
Having forgotten a few things in her locker, she went back after almost everyone had cleared out, only the staff stayed behind at this hour, locked in the teacher's lounge no doubt complaining about their day's work. She was so distracted trying to organize the books and journals in her arms that she was only brought back to reality when her locker was slammed shut right in front of her, frightening her so much that she dropped all her things to the ground. She looked back and froze when it was none other than Seonghwa who stood in front of her.
"6 days..."
His deep voice felt like ice, freezing her from moving let alone breathe.
"For 6 whole days, I've been waiting for you in class, only to find out you stayed home. Then, no matter where I searched, you always figured out a way to avoid me...."
Seonghwa leaned down, close to her face, smirking right at her.
"Well I finally caught you little one....and there's been something I wanted to do..."
Oh no! This was exactly what she feared. There was no one around to protect her or even witness what was going to happen. So Y/N closed her eyes and braced herself for whatever was going to come. She only hoped that it would end as quickly as possible.
"I like you."
Wait. What?
She looked up in shock, wondering if she heard what she thought. Seonghwa had leaned back up and stared at her.
"I like you. I've been wanting to tell you that. " He repeated himself.
Y/N didn't even know what face she made, but whatever it was, it made Seonghwa chuckle softly at her reaction. Bending down, he began to pick up her stuff that she dropped.
"I don't expect you to confess your feelings for me nor even answer me at the moment." He continued as he handed her the books and journals.
"I know you're confused right now, I would be too if I was in your place. Besides...."
He looked at her and smiled very faintly.
"There's plenty of time to get to know each other. After all, the weekend starts tomorrow."
He picked up his bookbag that he had previously set down on the floor and slung it over his shoulder. Then he took out a baby pink journal with sparkles on the side from his bag.
"By the way, you left this at class when you ran out the door." He handed her what rightfully belonged to her. She recognized it as her sketching notepad.
"See you soon Y/N. Real soon." He winked and waved goodbye at her before walking away.
Y/N stood there, her mouth wide open and looking around, questioning if this was a dream, a nightmare or reality.
What the hell just happened?!

"Medium hot white chocolate mocha with Irish cream syrup and whip cream."
The customer went up to the counter and picked up their drink, not even bothering to say a thank you or even acknowledge her presence.
"Thank you. Have a very nice day." Y/N repeated the customary line they all had to say when someone left the shop, making sure to add a warm smile and to use a light tone of voice.
Once the customer had left, Y/N turned back to her coworker, Jinhee, who was already groaning.
"That old geezer was such a pain! You're lucky you didn't take his order. I was about to strangle him." Jinhee complained and made a choking gesture with her hands.
"That bad huh?" Y/N asked as she wiped down the counter around the espresso machine.
"It's Saturday Y/N, and it's almost night. What do you expect? Only Karens and their annoying husbands come by for caffeine at this hour." Jinhee shook her head, tired from dealing with so many demanding and pushy customers.
"Look on the bright side, it's almost 7, meaning we get to go home soon." Y/N tried to remain positive.
"Hell yeah! I can't wait. Me and the girls are heading out to that club I was telling you about. You should seriously come."
Y/N expected Jinhee to ask her to join them, she always did. She loved Jinhee, she really did, but her style of having fun wasn't exactly her cup of tea. Y/N did not want to spend a perfectly good night getting shit faced drunk and waking up the next morning in some stranger's bed.
"Thanks Ji, but no. I have...plans tonight." She quickly said, although both knew that was a total lie.
"Yeah..... let me guess, plans that involve packets of ramen, an order of chicken wings, tub of ice cream while you rewatch some anime about a demon butler or about a people murdering journal?" Y/N hated how Jinhee knew her so well.
"Leave me alone!" Y/N threw the rag in her hand at her friend, who was now laughing at her reaction.
They both went back to their usual task of cleaning and disinfecting what was already clean since there weren't many customers when it was nearing closing time. Jinhee decided to go to the back room to make sure everything would be stocked for the next day, leaving Y/N to attend anyone who came in. Since she wasn't expecting anyone, she took out her notepad and began sketching like she usually did. She didn't know why, but the serene, tranquil atmosphere in the coffee shop, the scent of the freshly brewed coffee mixed with the light hint of cinnamon and other spices always seemed to inspire her to draw to her heart's content. And right now, she knew she wanted to draw a face. What face exactly? She didn't know. But she decided to start drawing the outline to give her a base to work with, while she figured out if she'd draw someone she knew or just an imaginary person that would only live in her mind.
The ringing of the bell signaled that someone had come inside, just when she was about to relax. Getting up, she quickly put her notebook out of sight and straightened her apron.
"Welcome! What can I get for-"
She stopped when she looked up to see Seonghwa himself in the shop. He looked at her and snorted softly.
"Don't you look adorable in that uniform."
Y/N pouted slightly, feeling self conscious about the pink and red apron.
"Aww come on, don't give me that look doll. You do look cute." Seonghwa complimented her, making her blush a little.
"Wha-what can I get for you?" She cleared her throat and went back to being professional.
Seonghwa scanned the menu options before looking back at Y/N. He studied her features closely before asking:
"What's your favorite drink?"
"Huh?" Y/N wasn't expecting him to ask her that.
It always did threw her off whenever people asked her what she liked. She hated answering cause customers would always say how boring her favorite drink was or complain it wasn't their type. Well if it's not your type, then why ask in the first place right?
"I'm still waiting for an answer doll."
Seonghwa's voice brought her out of her trance. She pondered over her choices: either tell him and get it over with or just lie and pick some random drink.
"I like a simple hot chocolate with caramel." Guess the first option was the winner.
Seonghwa looked at her endearingly when she answered.
"Not a fan of actual coffee?" He raised an eyebrow.
She shook her head. Ironic how she worked in a coffee shop yet couldn't even down a simple cafe latte cause the espresso felt too bitter on her tastebuds. Seonghwa chuckled softly, muttering a barely audible 'cute' under his breath.
"Well little lady, I guess I'll take a medium one of those and a small strawberry frappe. No coffee in that one either please."
Y/N looked at him with a questioning gaze.
"What? You're not the only one who doesn't like coffee sweetheart."
He handed her a $20 bill, not even bothering to hear the price and telling her to keep the change. He then sat down at the closest table and watched as she skillfully prepared the drinks.
When she heard the sound of the machines working, Jinhee rushed out to the front, thinking Y/N needed help.
"Do you need help?" Jinhee asked as she looked over, trying to see what Y/N was preparing.
"Relax Ji. It's only a frappe and a hot chocolate, not that difficult. It's for the guy over there." She turned her head and signaled to Seonghwa.
Jinhee had to do a double take when she saw him, her jaw dropping. Then she looked back towards Y/N.
"What?" Y/N asked as she piped the whipped cream on the frappe.
"Did one of your anime boys come to life!?" She exclaimed, making Y/N slap her arm and try to shush her.
"Shut up! That's just a guy in my class." Y/N explained as she put the drinks in a tray and maneuvered herself to put them in the front counter.
"Well now I wanna transfer to your college." Jinhee giggled, making Y/N unconsciously smile at her comment, trying hard not to laugh or she'd end up spilling everything.
"Your order is ready." She composed herself and went back to her usual demeanor.
Seonghwa walked up slowly to the counter and took the frappe and straw in front of him.
"You should smile like that more often. Makes you look even prettier."
Y/N felt her breath get caught at his comment and Jinhee nearly squealing in the back wasn't helping. She just blinked slowly as Seonghwa walked away with his frappe.
"Wait! You forgot the other drink!" She called out to him when she remembered how to use her voice.
Seonghwa shrugged.
"It's for you. You did say it was your favorite right?"
He opened the door and took one last look at her.
"See you later." He winked like he did the last time they saw each other and walked out of the shop.
Y/N stood frozen, replaying everything in her mind. Jinhee's loud voice shook her awake though.
"Holy shit! You're so lucky! He was totally hitting on you! Is he like this in class too?! I'm so jelly! Oh my God! I want one of your lover boys too!" She crossed her arms and huffed slightly.
Y/N got flustered at her comment.
"He's not my lover boy....." She whispered softly and started wiping the counter to try and get her mind off Seonghwa.
"Not yet.....but he might be." Jinhee playfully nudged her on the shoulder before giggling like a dolphin.
Y/N rolled her eyes. She still couldn't wrap the idea that Park Seonghwa actually liked her. It was a concept so foreign to her, it didn't make sense. She stared at the hot chocolate in front of her. She contemplated throwing it away, but it was too tempting. And it was for her.....
She picked up the cup and started taking small sips out of it, trying hard not to burn her tongue like she usually did. She replayed the conversation in her head once more and she found herself replaying his last words:
"See you later."
What on earth did he mean by that?

To The Vows You Take - Chapter 6
(This is the longest chapter in the whole story, enjoy!)
Chapter 5
"About time you got here," Ray snarked when (YN) and Frank finally boarded the bus in Washington. "Why'd you guys have to change your flight?"
“We had to go to Vegas,” (YN) replied simply as she started unpacking some of her things into her bunk. She was trying to suppress the smile that was fighting to form on her face.
“What? To get married or something?” Gerard laughed.
“Yea,” Frank replied with a shrug.
(YN) glanced over at Ray and Gerard, who were stunned into silence for a moment. They looked at each other, then back at their bandmates.
“You guys were dating?!” Gerard asked, totally astonished. "How did we not notice?! Why didn’t you say anything?!"
“I knew something was going on!” Ray exclaimed. "They've been acting different all year! I knew it!"
“Nope, we weren't dating,” (YN) answered.
Gerard’s eyes went wide. “(YN), are you, you're not pre-”
“No! Oh my god, no!” She rolled her eyes. “Me and Frank agreed in high school that if we weren’t married by 25, we’d marry each other.”
“Well shit, congratulations! We gotta celebrate, right?” Ray asked, getting excited.
“Hell yea!” Frank chimed in. “You guys buy the champagne!”
“Do you wanna announce it at the show tonight?” Gerard asked.
“No!” (YN) was quick to reply. “It’s just that we haven’t told our families yet. We don't wanna have them find out through the press.”
Gerard nodded. "Ok, but wow, I still can’t believe you guys eloped!"
"Believe it, baby," Frank said, patting Gerard on the cheek as he walked by.
~
“Ok, ready to call your mom?” Frank asked.
“No,” (YN) deadpanned.
“Better now than waiting any later,” he replied. It had been about a week since they had tied the knot and (YN) had been putting off calling her mom as long as possible. It wasn’t that she was ashamed of what they’d done, she just knew how her mom would react.
Frank pushed the call button on the phone in front of them and (YN) hoped it would just go to voicemail.
“Hello?” (YN)’s mom’s voice came through the speaker of the phone.
“Hey mom,” (YN) started wearily.
“Hi sweetie, what’s going on? I’m at the grocery store.”
(YN) winced and Frank had to stifle a giggle. “Umm, by any chance do you remember back when I was home for Christmas and that letter came that I wrote to myself?”
“Yes, vaguely.”
“Do you remember the one thing I said I hadn’t done?”
“No, off the top of my head I can’t say that I do.”
“Umm, well I’ve got you on speaker phone because Frank is here too and I called to tell you we went through with our pact to get married.”
“I’m sorry, I don’t think I heard you, it’s loud in here, you did what?”
“Me and Frank got married in Vegas,” (YN) practically shouted. Frank was hiding his face to control his laughter and (YN) reached over and smacked his arm.
“What?!” In the background it sounded like glass breaking. “And you didn’t even call to tell me?!”
“I mean, I told you when I read the letter,” (YN) rubbed her eyes.
“Not that you were gonna go through with marrying Frankie! Oh, is Frankie there now?”
“Yea, hi Ms. (YLN),” he replied.
“Hi sweetie! Congratulations and welcome to the family!”
(YN) looked at Frank, jaw dropped, as he practically gloated. “Thank you Ms. (YLN).”
“(YN) I can’t believe you wouldn’t tell me until after the fact!”
“We didn’t tell anyone, not even the other guys!” (YN) argued. "It's not eloping if everyone knows!"
“Well, have you told Frankie’s parents yet?”
“No, you’re our first call” (YN) replied, rolling her eyes.
“Ok good. Oh, goodness I didn’t even notice I dropped the jar of pickles, I’ve got to go, I want more details later, buh-bye.”
“Bye,” (YN) said, hanging up. "Yea it's a good thing we didn't tell her we called your mom first, she woulda lost it. Are you gonna call your dad?"
"Yea," he replied, already pulling up the contact info on his phone.
"K, I'm gonna go grab some coffee," she said, getting up.
"How'd your mom react?" Gerard asked, looking up when (YN) walked in.
"She dropped a jar of pickles in the middle of the grocery store," (YN) sighed as she poured a mug of coffee.
Gerard chuckled. "Are you done?"
"No, Frank's calling his dad right now."
"That will go well," Gerard nodded reassuringly.
"Yea, I think you’re right," she nodded as she made her way to the back of the bus where they'd been making the calls in privacy.
"So you finally told her-"
"Dad, hang on," Frank interrupted and (YN) gave Frank a confused look as she walked in. "Umm, no, but don't worry about it. Actually (YN) just walked in."
"Hi, Mr Iero," she greeted him brightly.
"I'm glad you're sticking together. Ever since you were kids, you two have been a team. That's what you want in life, someone who is on your team. Friendship should come first, all that romance bullshit can come later on."
(YN) and Frank laughed, but when she glanced over at him, she saw he was looking at her. She smiled and looked away, realizing how much she was suddenly blushing. That was the problem. She could no longer deny the fact that she wanted the romantic bullshit with Frank. Her stomach did flips when he would look at her from across the room, his smile made her weak in the knees. She’d fallen for him completely, and she didn’t know what to do.
~
Frank had just taken a drag off his cigarette when a black SUV pulled up in the parking lot where their tour bus was parked. At long last, Mikey was back. He hopped up off the curb he was sitting on and warmly welcomed his friend with a hug. "Welcome back, man!"
"Hey! And congrats! I take a couple months off and half the band gets married?" Mikey laughed as he stored one of his bags in the compartment under the bus.
"That’s what happens when you’re not here to supervise us,” Frank laughed. “Did you know me and (YN) had originally planned to elope the day you and Alicia got married?"
"Seriously?" Mikey seemed genuinely shocked as they returned to the spot on the curb where Frank had been sitting. It was the only shade in sight.
"Yep."
“Where is she, by the way?”
“On the phone with our realtor, we’re gonna see some houses when we’re back in Jersey before we head over to Europe.”
“Damn, you are serious about this.”
“As serious as a goddamn heart attack.”
“Wait, so how did all this happen again?”
“We made this pact in high school, we’d get married if we were still single at 25. And the chance to spend my life with (YN)? I’m not gonna pass that up.”
“You have feelings for her?”
“I’m surprised I’ve hid them this well for so long.”
“Shit,” Mikey muttered, taking the almost spent cigarette out of Frank’s hands and taking a drag himself. “So it’s happily ever after.”
“Not until I work up the nerve to tell her.”
Mikey coughed, Frank’s words taking him by surprise. “Wait, you haven’t told her?!”
Frank let his head hang. “Oh so you've been married like three months longer than me, and now you know it all? Just keep it between us ok?”
“Yea, yea I can, but you should tell her. She’s your wife.”
Frank couldn’t help the smile that formed across his face upon hearing those words. “Yea. I just gotta figure out the right time.”
~
(YN) had just finished applying her stage makeup when the door to the green room opened. She was surprised that it was only Mikey coming in, and no one else was with him.
“Hey,” she said, glancing over at him. “Where’s everyone else?”
“Got pulled into an interview,” he answered, coming to stand behind her, checking his hair in the mirror.
“Ah yes, the joys of not being a guitarist or singer,” she smirked.
“I know right?” He laughed before flopping down on the couch. “So congrats.”
“Thanks,” she laughed lightly, shaking her head. “It’s crazy, right?”
“Why?”
"Because I saw 'My Best Friend's Wedding' at an impressionable age, and now I’m married to my bandmate.”
"What's wrong with that?"
(YN) sighed and shook her head. “Promise not to tell?”
Mikey sat up and nodded. “Of course.”
"It’s a problem because I realized that I've fallen in love with Frank and can't tell him because it'll ruin our marriage,” she explained and Mikey let out a laugh. “It’s absurd right?”
"You gotta tell him, (YN)."
(YN) just groaned in response. “But what if it fucks everything up?”
Mikey sighed. "You should be honest with the people you love," he replied. "Especially when it's about how you feel."
(YN) nodded silently.
“So... have you guys hooked up.”
“Mikey!"
"I’m just trying to lighten the mood!” He said defensively. “And I take your reaction as a yes."
(YN) smirked. "Fine, you wanna know? There was one time we did a long time ago."
“Wait, when?!”
“You probably don’t remember, but a long long time ago, I’m talking back in the van days, we were actually staying in a hotel for once. You, Gee, Ray, and Brian all went out, but me and Frank stayed back.”
“Oh yea! We were wondering if something happened that night,” Mikey laughed.
“Yep,” she said, getting up from her chair and starting to make her way toward the door. “And it was in the bed you and Ray shared that night! Bye!”
“Ew! What the fuck (YN)?!” Mikey shouted, as she ran out of the room, laughing evilly.

Growl: Chapter 5

Your P.O.V
I wasn't really feeling class today, well at least one of them, and the worst on in my opinion. So I decided to hide out in the gym, none of the team would be there this early in the day so it was perfect. I walked into the gym, not expecting to see Kyotani, he was practicing alone. "W-what are you doing here?" I curse myself for shuttering like I did. Kyotani turned to me, the same angry expression on his face. "Didn't feel like going to class." He tells me before going back to what he was doing. "Oh, guess the same goes for me." I say as I stepped into the gym and closing the door. "Do you want me to pass you a few?" I might as well do something while I hide from class. "Sure." Kyotani tossed me the volleyball, much lighter than he normally would. I was sure it would knock the wind out of me as well as break a rib if he threw it at his normal speed.
I try my best to remember how to properly serve a volleyball, but while doing so I mess up, and the ball went lopsided and way off track. Kyotani chuckled before picking up the ball. "Sorry..." I rub the back of my neck. 'His laugh is cute...' I think, feeling my cheeks turn red. "I never even touched a volleyball until recently. Maybe you can show me how it's done? But like, not the whole slapping the air out of the ball." I giggle. "Right. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it." Kyotani holds the ball up. "Watch carefully." He tosses the ball up and hits it over the net as soon as it was in line with his hand. After a few more tries, I finally got it down. "Whoa! I actually did it!" Why did I get so hyped about that? It's just a ball and a net. But, it felt strangely rewarding. I turned to Kyotani, who's harden expression lightened a bit. I suddenly felt the awkwardness close in. "So uh, why did you skip class?" I asked. Kyotani shrugged. "Just didn't feel like going. What about you?"
"I didn't like the class I had. It was really boring." I tell him. Kyotani hummed in response. God I hate this, don't kill the conversation you idiot! Say something, anything! "Do you have a dog? I remember you said you liked them?" I question. "Shiba. His name is Killer." Well, I was wrong about the intimidating dog part, by the name makes up for it. "I wish I had a dog. My mom doesn't really allow dogs in our house, she says they make things messy." Kyotani looked less than pleased by that, I couldn't blame him. Dogs did make things messy sometimes but everything else about them made up for it. "You...you can come over to my place, to see my dog that is...If you want." Kyotani murmurs. I could have sworn I saw a tiny blush on his face. My heart did a flip. "O-ok! That sounds nice." I smile. The sound of the bell interrupted the nice moment we were having. With a sigh I grab my bag. "I should get going. I have class with Iwaizumi next." Kyotani nods. "I wouldn't make him angry if I were you." He says. "Right? He'll have my head if he finds out I'm skipping." I laugh. "Well, uh-"
"I'll come get you after class." Kyotani cuts me off. I smile softly and nod. "Ok, I'll be waiting." With that, I left the gym. The entire walk to class I couldn't stop thinking about Kyotani. My heart just wouldn't stop thumping. "I can't believe I have a crush on him."
"Have a crush on who L/n-Chan~?"
"Ah! Shittykawa don't sneak up on me like that!" I snap. "And I don't have a crush on anyone, dummy." I mutter. "That's a lie! Come on, tell me! Tell me, tell me, tell meeeee!"
"No! Shut up!"
"Oh wait! L/n-Chan~.Could it be you have feelings for me after all?" Oikawa smirks.
"Not if your life depended on it." I growl. "Now leave me alone or I'll have Iwaizumi beat your ass." I walked into class. "Keep lying to yourself L/n-Chan. You can't hide from your true feelings!"
"Iwaizumi!!"
"No wait, I take it back! I take it back!!"
Normal P.O.V
You waited by the school gates for Kyotani, still your heart was beating wildly at the thought of walking with him to his home. While it was a nice feeling, the feeling of liking someone, it was also scary. You weren't sure if this was such a good idea deep down, sure you've had crushes when you were a kid, but never on this level. What if he didn't feel the same? You would end up getting your hopes up just for your heart to be broken. What was it about Kyotani that made you want to chase this feeling? You've only known him for a little while, and yet you've fallen for him. "I guess I'll find out." You say aloud. "Find out what?" You turn to see Kyotani, his school bag slung over his shoulder. "Uh, find out how I'm going to convince my mom to let me get a dog." You lie. He seemed to have bought it, as he didn't press you further. Oikawa could learn a lot from him. "You ready?" He asks. "Yep." You smile walking beside him. Once again, the walk was silent. You didn't know what to say, your mind was swarming with different thoughts, you couldn't focus on just one. You stole a few glances from Kyotani, handsome as always. And like always, you couldn't tell what was on his mind. It was like he was annoyed by everything all the time, why was he always so on edge? So angry?
"You know." You started. "The first time I saw you, I thought you were going to murder me." Kyotani glances at you curiously. "You looked so furious that I bumped into you, and...you growled? What was up with that?" You asked. "...I do that sometimes...a bad habit." He says under his breath. "Oh. Well, I guess it fits your nickname. Mad Dog." Kyotani nods. "Yeah. Guess so." You look up and notice the way you two were walking. "Hey, I live by here." You say. "Just a few houses down."
"Oh yeah? I live just down the street from there. Guess we lived close to each other this whole time." Kyotani shrugs. "I wonder why I never saw you."
"Yeah same."
Fuck this was awkward.
Your P.O.V
We made it there sooner than we thought, thank god. Kyotani was right, he only lived a short way away from me. "We're here." Kyotani takes out his keys unlocking his door before stepping in. "My mom won't be back until later today." I followed in after him and took a second to admire the interior of the house. It was pretty decent. Not less than a second later, I heard the sound of rapid tapping. It was getting closer and closer. Barking followed my ears as a shiba dog ran up to me. I braced myself invade he would pounce on me, but instead he just stood before me and wagged his tail. He barked again, wanting my attention. "Take it easy Killer." Kyotani pet his head. Killer licked Kyotani's hand a few times and barked again. "This is Killer? But he's so sweet!" I crouched down to his height. Killer sniffed at my hand before licking it. "Don't let that fool you. Killer can be a cold blooded canine." I couldn't tell if he was joking or not, either way, this dog was adorable. "Aw, who's a cute little beast? Huh?" I pet his fluffy cheeks, Killer barks in response as if he were answering me. "Yeah! It's you boy!" I giggle.
Normal P.O.V
Kyotani watches as you continue to fawn over his dog. He had to admit. It was pretty cute...but really he meant you were pretty cute. And it was weird. Not weird that you were pretty cute. Weird because, he's never cared enough to think of someone as pretty or cute. "So uh, since you're here, you wanna like, do something? I invited you over after all." Kyotani puts his hands in his pockets and leaned against the wall. You look up from Killer. "Oh uh, sure." You stand back up and straighten out your skirt. "What did you have in mind?"
"Follow me." Kyotani walks further into the house and up the stairs, you and Killer followed. He lead you to his room, inside, was exactly what you thought it would look like. There were some pink posters here and there, his bed was a little messy, and was that a bass guitar in the corner of his room? "You play bass?" You questioned. "Yeah, occasionally." Kyotani walked over to his desk and played some music, it was a little loud from the last time he played it. He turned it down enough for you both continue talking. Kyotani then went to his bed and flopped down on it, his arms behind his head. Killer jumped on his bed and laid down. "Come on, stop standing there and sit down."
"O-oh right." You walked over to his bed and sat next to him. "Sorry for being so weird. I just, never thought that you would be so opened to me. I really thought you hated me." Kyotani kept his eyes on the ceiling. "I abs not opened up to you. Trust me." He eyed you. "And I didn't hate you, but yeah, this is a little weird. I didn't think I would befriend you this easily. I don't do that often, as you can imagine."
"What about the guys on the team?" You asked. "I tolerate them." Kyotani mutters, his face scrunched up in disgust. You giggled. "So you must really tolerate me to let me into your home, huh?" Kyotani turns his head away from you, he was silent for a moment before letting out a quiet. "Sure." You smile softly and leaned back until you were laying in your back like him. "So I've been wondering. Why do you respect Iwaizumi so much? Other than him just being your senior. He's not even the captain, and yet you listen to him more than Oikawa."
"Iwaizumi...he's cool I guess. He's good at a lot of things, he proved it to me when I challenged him." He answers. "And Oikawa is just stupid."
"Couldn't agree more!" You laugh. Kyotani laughed along with you. You turn your head towards him. "You're pretty cool to, Kyotani." Kyotani clicked his tongue. "Whatever. I should be saying that to you, you're my senior too you know?" You chuckled. "Yeah but, I haven't done anything that special. I hand out towels, and you play a sport. And you play it well too."
Kyotani finally met your gaze, all seriousness present in his eyes. "If we didn't have you, our team would be a hot mess. You're like...the team mom I guess? You keep everything in check, and that's pretty cool." You felt your cheeks turn red. "O-oh. Thanks Kyotani." You stutter. "I mean it. Thanks for being out manager L/n." There it goes again, your heart beat getting louder. It was driving you crazy. Not to mention you both were only a few inches apart, you could really see every detail of Kyotani's face. His intense golden eyes, his flawless tan skin, his perfect jawline. He wasn't just looks either. In this moment, he made you feel really special. When you first met him, you never thought that he could be this nice to someone. It was like everything about him was so...perfect.
"Kyotani..." You say softly, leaning ever so closer to him. You watched him carefully, making sure he was comfortable with what you were doing. It seemed so, as he didn't pull away from you. Just as your lips were about to brush against his own, the door to his room opened. "Kentaro, I thought I told you to take out the trash while I was gone-Oh!" A older woman who resembled Kyotani was standing in the doorway. You and Kyotani both sat up quickly. "My my, is this a new friend of yours?" The woman smirked.
"Ma!" Kyotani yelled. "I told you know before coming into my room!" His face was bright red. "Oh hush. Introduce this young lady." Kyotani rolled his eyes. "She's my senior, L/n Y/n." He mutters. "Nice to meet you young lady." Kyotani's mom smiles. "You call me Kaori."
"N-nice to meet you too." You nod. "I'm so glad my son actually made a friend, and your so pretty too! Proud of ya boy!" Kaori laughs. "I swear to god..." Kyotani murmurs. "How would you like to stay for dinner Y/n?"
"Oh, that sounds nice but, my mother is expecting me to be home tonight. Maybe next time?" Kaori gives you a thumbs up. "Sounds like a plan. Don't forget to invite her over next time Kentaro. And walk her home, it's getting late."
"Yeah yeah. Sure." Kyotani gets up. You followed Kyotani out of his room, his mom silently cheering her son on.
Kyotani had walked you home, which was only a short way from his own home. "I had a good time. Thanks again Kyotani." You give him a soft smile. "Yeah. It was problem. And sorry about my mom she can be really pushy, you don't have to come over again if you don't want to." You shook your head. "No it's fine. I'd like to come over again, uh if that's ok with you of course."
"It's cool with me." Kyotani said with a slight nod. "Sounds like a plan then. Well, I'll see you later. Goodnight."
"Night."
You waved before walking into your home. You sighed heavily as you lean back against the door. "Holy shit, I'm in love..."

[College or Future AU; Whichever works best for you!] "Stay...Stay right there." Thad groggily says as he unevenly staggers over to the other. The simply motion difficult for him to do as this point as exhaustion was plastered across his face and he was barely able to keep his eyes open. Making it to where he was (a miracle at this point) Thad lays his head on his shoulder and closes his eyes. His body relaxes and suddenly the rhythmic sound of fully asleep breathing was in Tim's ear. He had fallen fully asleep standing up. And yep, Thad had made himself your problem now, Tim.
Misc. Asks II Inbox: Open II College AU
Tim rolled his eyes, but he did, in fact, remain in place, admittedly a touch concerned for his-- what, friend? That definitely didn't feel right.
Rival? ...No, they hadn't been in competition since graduation-- the same reason that roommate wouldn't work.
Frienemy?
Tim considered it. It wasn't bad, and it might work for the time being, so-- Sure. He was a little worried about his frienemy, considering that he'd lurched toward him with heavy bags under his eyes, the likes of which Tim hadn't seen since finals, their senior year.
"I'd ask what you're doing in my apartment--" oh, that was his head on his shoulder. ...Okay.
Then, moments later, the guy was-- "Are you asleep?" Tim whispered softly, an amused grin crossing his face. "How did you even do that? I mean, I've fallen asleep in some weird places, but that was fast."
Tim took a few moments to assess the situation that he was now in. He had a sleeping Thad Thawne halfway in his arms, a bag of last minute dinner ingredients in one hand, and his keys in the other, and the nearest comfortable surface was a few feet away-- not an impossible, or even difficult, distance, he supposed. Just a little irritating.
When Thad woke, Tim would have to remind him that he could just take up position on the couch, next time. It wasn't like he could technically stop him from using it, especially if he showed up while Tim wasn't home again.
"I don't wanna stand here for a few hours, so, uh," he dropped the bag at their feet, and then slipped his keys into his pocket, and with a smooth, careful motion, Tim swept Thad up and into his hold, intent on carrying him to his couch. "You are so lucky I'm as strong as I am." He kept talking to the sleeping Thawne.
"It is so annoying that you're taller than me, by the way. It makes this so much harder." He huffed, gently lowering him onto the couch, grateful that he'd cleaned recently, leaving it bare of his usual case files and piles of research.
"Well, uh..." He stared down at him. "Sweet dreams, I guess. If you can hear me, you're welcome to stay for dinner. Enjoy your nap."

Sam you're back!!! Can i get a request where aomine preparing a proposal marriage to his so but accidentally mention it to his so? And it ended up funny please!! I've been waiting for your ask box to be opened 🤗🤗
alwkerjalkejr im sorry this is so late and im bad at Humor so this is the best i can do for now, i hope u enjoy it
Aomine wasn’t a planner. Not even close. He had breezed through high school with poor grades and actions decided solely on impulse. He had faced college head on with no particular direction and went where the wind sent him. The only thing he was certain about had been basketball and that had been the only thing pushing him forward.
However, of course, it was different after he met you. The game changer, some called you. No one would guess that Aomine would’ve settled down at the raw age of 24 with a woman he had known for exactly seven months and three days. A blind date first encounter, several dates and sexy times later, the two of you had made it exclusive.
And Aomine was whipped to say the least.
24 was a far cry from his expected settlement age. The two of you butt heads on many things, including your relationship and the long-term perspective. He viewed marriage as a trap, a cage to keep him locked up and away. But you had illuminated the difference in his mind.
Marriage wasn’t a prison, it was a commitment. Commitment that didn’t leave him feeling stuck, but instead liberated. The thought of spending the rest of his life with you both terrified and enthralled him. Terrified not because he feared giving up the rest of his life, but because the idea of losing you imprinted a searing pain into his heart.
He twiddled with the ring box in his hands, feeling the smooth velvet underneath his fingertips. He had bought it on impulse - a glance into a jewelry store when the two of you were out for your biweekly date (given your busy schedules – Aomine with training and you with your mundane desk job). He had gotten a bonus for the season for doing particularly well, not that it was hard.
It was the extra cash, he would say, that made him do it. When you traipsed off into a bakery, he wandered in the opposite direction and ended up back in front of the glimmering diamonds. He was just going to take a look, he figured. No harm done.
However, he ended up walking out with a small bag that he quickly hid from sight in his gym bag – the weight of the tiny compartment placing a heavy burden on his shoulders. His nerves crept up on him as if the box would sear right through the fabric and you would find out that This Idiot had bought a ring on a whim. A pricey one at that (he had to recalculate his budgeting for the month after this).
“Daiki,” you called, snapping your fingers in front of his face.
Aomine descended back to reality and to the meal before him. The two of you were sharing dinner and apparently you had been sharing a story about your coworker who he couldn’t really give less shit about but he just enjoyed listening to the sound of your voice fill the room.
“Huh?” he asked, mouthful of pasta opening to let bits fall out.
You crinkled your nose in disgust, eyeing the fallen pieces on his plate. “You’re gross, first of all. Second, you’re not listening to me.”
“Yes, your coworker has stolen multiple pens from your table and hasn’t given a single one back but you’ve seen it on other people’s desks.” Years of “not” listening to Momoi nag his ass off had trained him to pick up on key points of conversation. He had gotten multiple earfuls from his childhood friend for not listening and he was almost thankful that he had a skillful ear.
Oh. That had you closing your mouth and blushing. Cute. “Okay, fine, so you were listening. But still!”
“Babe, it really isn’t a big deal. Just ask for them back from your other coworkers, I’m sure they’ll be cool with it.”
“I guess,” you mumbled.
Aomine’s lips quirked up. You didn’t like confrontation and especially not over something so small. Cute.
“Are you cleaning the bedroom tomorrow or am I?” you said, collecting both your plates and leaving them in the sink. Aomine instinctively followed after you to get started on the dishes – he had been well-trained in the art of kitchen hygiene mainly through your incessant criticism of how bad he was at it.
Meanwhile, you headed over to your shared bedroom only to be dismayed by the sight of his gym bag. You could practically see the smell leaking out from it. “Daiki,” you groaned again. What was it this time, he wondered. He was distracted by getting every inch of stain off the plates when you grumbled, bringing out his bag. “What did I tell you about leaving your gross, used uniform in your bag? We have a laundry basket, babe.”
“Yep, sorry, forgot,” he noted almost robotically. This happened weekly and, no matter how many times you reminded him, he was going to keep forgetting. It wasn’t as if he wasn’t going to sweat in the clothes again.
He heard you distinctively moan some more in the background but he was so focused on that one sauce mark that he barely processed what you were saying, answering your questions with half his attention on you.
“When did you bring these back?”
“Two days ago.”
“Two days ago! Do you not smell it?”
“No.”
“My god, what is this mess? What’s this stain?”
“Probably the burger I ate with the team.”
“Your towel has another stain.”
“Oh, Eiji spilled his soda on it.”
“What’s this box?”
“Engagement ring.”
It didn’t register with him what he just said. It was another answer to another question, nothing else. It was only when the silence weighed heavily in the air that he turned to check on you.
You who were standing frozen in your spot, velvet box still in hand and eyes the size of saucers. “A what?”
Aomine blanked out then. How in the fuck was he supposed to get out of this situation? He wanted to do this properly, the way that you deserved. It wasn’t as if you were a die-hard romantic who needed roses spread across their apartment, but he certainly wanted to give you something equivalent that you would enjoy. A gesture that you deserved for all the time you spent putting up with him.
So he thought of the next best thing. “For my friend. Um, he asked me to pick it up.”
“Daiki, I know all your friends and I don’t think any of them have significant others.”
“It’s a distant friend, he did it to not be suspicious.”
You shrugged, shoving it back into his bag. For a moment, he could’ve sworn he saw a flash of hurt across your eyes. It wasn’t as if you hadn’t brought up marriage before, but it’s something Aomine had always waved off. Perhaps you were instantly convinced, a dream close to your fingertips but still out of reach.
“I lied,” he quickly blurted out, getting up from his seat to approach you and pluck the box from your hands. He ran his thumb across the smooth cover, taking in a deep breath. “This is for us. For you. I wanted it to be a surprise, but I also want you to know that I am serious about you, no matter how many times I joke about it. You... mean the world to me and there’s nothing I won’t do to keep you by my side.”
He watched your lips part in surprise, a revelation that had struck you to the core. Aomine, who had been so adamant that marriage was nothing but a lie, was thinking of proposing. You could feel your brain shortcircuit and it seemed to show on your face.
Aomine chuckled, ruffling your hair, “Don’t look so shaken. I’m not going to do it now. Like I said, it’s going to be a surprise so I’m not going to ask you now. But just know that I will ask you—and ask you properly. When that time comes, you better be ready to say yes.”
You smiled, “I’ve never been readier for anything.”
