I think my favorite part about the last episode is that Mo Eun went to the South Pole. Dan Ho wasn't pissy about it when he found out. Even though he was told the info before Mo Eun could tell him personally, he went out and got her cold weather gear and was supportive of her goals. He obviously presented it to Yeon Du in a way that made her happy for Mo Eun as well. We didn't have this stupid, unnecessary conflict which caused emotional pain for the woman because she was fulfilling her dream.

As much as I was slightly underwhelmed by the show, I really do think the writers did a nice job of bookending everything. The way they mirrored episode one with the moms bragging about the kids - but now it was Seok Ryu's mom bragging about Seung Hyo and vice versa - nice touch. Our leads bickering in the end like they did as kids was also sweet.

We knew she was going to get dad's restaurant, but it was nice the way it was written. I'm glad they didn't do a last minute 'she has cancer' scare again.

Overall, it was a nice, low conflict show that subverted some Kdrama tropes while leaning into others.

I love Mo-Eum, I really do but she can’t seriously be doing all this whilst actively trying to relocate to Antarctica?

If it were just two adults involved, I would have left it because at the end of the day, they can handle it but this little girl has already stated how she feels about not having a mum. Mo-Eum’s constant presence, love and kindness—not even factoring the fact that we know she actually likes Mr. Reporter—would obviously confuse or worse, break Yeon Du’s heart no?

I hope this is a case of she doesn’t feel the need to redirect her dream, because he also hasn’t told her how he feels yet because???

Episode 6 Opening and Ending Title cards:

The show was bookended with Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu separately coming to the realization that though they thought they knew everything about one another and all their firsts, there are things that they don't know.

With Seok Ryu coming back, things are changing and shifting. I do like how Seung Hyo has recognized that they are childish around each other and some things should change. They've known each other for long that they fall into an easy pattern. But important to note, that Seok Ryu does listen to Seung Hyo and doesn't knock on his window like he asked. However Seung Hyo misses her when she doesn't.

I absolutely loved the conversation that Seung Hyo had with Dan Ho. I feel that it was really important for him to get it off his chest and who else really would he tell? Dan Ho is a perfect third part.

I was cackling at Mo Eum listening in though. Still, I like how Mo Eum has known forever about Seung Hyo feelings yet has never teased him, let on that she knows or told Seok Ryu. If anything she tried to very subtly get him to confess. I think she's supportive of the two of them getting together.

Dan Ho and Mo Eum's budding relationship seems to be getting on thought I am a bit annoyed that she still seems to think he left Yeon Du alone. I wonder where Yeon Du's mom is. She's far away can kinda mean a couple of things. I do wonder where Mo Eum's wanting to go to the Arctic (south pole??) will leave them though.

It was nice to see Seung Hyo in a different setting, with the old workers, and see that he is very personable, charming and well liked.

For Seok Ryu, I am happy that she's taking the cooking lessons. And I love how she thought of Seung Hyo and made him something that is rather personal for him.

My thoughts are that Seok Ryu has probably loved Seung Hyo for a long time but never realized it.
