Wonwoo hasn’t been seen for a week. Jay, Chanyeol and the rest of the crew have returned to the city, and there was a large crowd gathering to say goodbye, albeit a little awkwardly.

Both you and Grandma Lee have been taking turns to knock on his door, leave food, or just sit and wait for him to open the door. Bitterly, you found it ironic how even as acquaintances, there was lesser distance between the two of you then.

“So…. an investment firm, huh?” You ask.

“Yep,” Chanyeol says on the opposite end. “So he was shadowing his relative in an investment firm, and a stock type he recommended to a janitor colleague unexpectedly dropped all the way.”

“And the janitor….”

“Jay’s father. He ended up in an accident soon after the whole thing.”

“Oh my god.”

A sigh comes from the line. “That’s as much as I know. Jay wants to seem normal, so he isn’t saying much about it.”

“It’s as bad over here,” You mumble. “He isn’t opening up anymore.”

Chanyeol hums in thought. “And the Y/N I know wouldn’t have waited for him to open the door. I don’t mean go in and bombard him. I mean just…. go in and make sure he’s eating well, you know?”

“I’ve thought of it,” You sigh. “And I don’t want him to think I’m going in to fish for answers. I don’t want….I don’t mind if he takes time to tell me. I just want him to recover and be comfortable again.”

“See?” Chanyeol chuckles. “You know your stuff. And if there’s one thing I know, it’s that people’s true intentions always come through. Y/N, you will know what to say when the time comes. It’s going to flow right out of you.”

“You think?”

“I know.”

A door has never looked more closed than it does right now.

You take a deep breath and pick up the basket of corn Grandma Lee left at Wonwoo's door. Then, you steel yourself to reach out and open the door, take off your shoes, and enter the house.

Wonwoo looks up at you from the sofa as you walk in. He looks visibly gaunt, with rings under his eyes, and from the looks of it, you know he hasn't been eating well.

You set the corn down and move to sit next to him. "I'll make you something to eat."

He shakes his head, bowing his head down. "I'm okay, there's no need."

You sigh. "I'm not here for answers, Won."

He keeps his head down and says nothing.

"I just... you should eat well. You don't need to tell me anything right now. If you need to cry, you should at least get a good night's rest and some sustenance before you do."

It's still silent as you rummage in his fridge, careful not to do or say anything that could shut him off again.

When you turn to take a plate out, he mumbles something which you ask him to repeat.

“Can I tell you something?"

You turn to him, and he finally makes eye contact with you for the first time since coming into his house. "Could you...sit down for a moment?"

After hesitating just a fraction of a second, you settle on the couch next to him.

"I used to intern at an investment firm. I was shadowing my cousin," He swallows and hesitates for about a million moments before speaking. "His name was Taeyong, and he was just... amazing. He taught me everything I needed to know about the stock market and got me started on meeting clients."

"He sounds lovely."

He nods, staring right in front of him. "He was the closest family to me. He, and his wife, Ji-yeon. They took care of me so well, it was like I really was his direct family. And I was going into work one day, and the janitor working on our level asked me what he could invest in to secure a steady income flow."

His breathing becomes a little unstable, and you place your hand over his to calm his jitters. He seems to speak a little slower.

"I recommended him a package I remember my cousin talking about. The most steady option in the market, the one that guaranteed the safest returns. That stock had been steadily increasing in value and popularity, so I thought it was safe."

You squeeze his hand once.

"I just found out that evening." His words are getting softer and more ashamed. "That janitor was Jay's father."

Your other hand comes up to rub his back. "It wasn't your fault. You couldn't have known."

"Didn't I?" He murmurs. "A couple months after he began investing, I went into work and there was a crisis because the stock was failing so badly. It was crashing and I'd never seen anything like it."

His breath shudders. "And my first thought was just panic. I rushed to go to Jay's father and tell him to pull out his investment immediately. I wanted to tell him exactly what I knew and make sure he wasn't left in the dark."

"And then?" You murmur.

"It was raining so badly." He said softly. "I had a license, but Taeyong said he didn't think I was in any condition to drive, and he offered to drive me."

His hands come up into his hair, tugging hard in frustration. "And the rain... the car accident... it took Taeyong away. From Ji-yeon, from his parents, and from every single person who loved him. Including me."

Your hands come up to cover your mouth. "Wonwoo..."

"I survived," He chokes out, tears re-streaming down his face. "I survived him, and I survived hearing the news that Jay's father drove in the rain to ask me what was going on, and getting in another collision."

As he stares straight ahead, his expression shuttering, you swallow, inch towards him, and perhaps Chanyeol was right, because words you didn't think you were capable of saying spill out of your mouth. "It isn't your fault. I wish time was kinder to you. You must've been holding on to such a burden, Wonwoo. You can cry, okay? Scream if you have to."

And your words seem to be his breaking point because he's slumping over and crying, loud and unrestrained, and there's nothing you can say or do to stop the flow of tears, so you wrap yourself around him, let his tears soak your shoulder, and for the first time maybe ever, pray that you are enough to soothe him.

Chanyeol leans back against the gravel and looks up at Jay, who's sitting up, solemn and silent.

"I'm sorry I dragged you back here for extra b-rolls," He says. "I would have asked the other cameramen, but they're knee deep in the post-production and there was no other option."

Jay shrugs. "It's fine."

The evening sun shines against the lighthouse as the camera runs, and the waves crash against the rocks.

After about ten minutes, Chanyeol speaks up. "Go ahead. I can handle this."

Jay looks at him. "What?"

"You have something bothering you," Chanyeol replies. "And from my producer's intuition, I can safely say that the source is exactly where we are. You should go sort it out before it becomes a real pain."

Jay turns away and back towards the setting sun. "I didn't know you were so nosy."

Chanyeol lets out a sigh. "You know, I don't think it's been easy for anyone involved. And I can't empathise fully with you because I don't know what it's like. So all I can say is... do what you truly believe is right. Take care of that thorn in your head, and everything else will come after."

Jay trains his eyes on the waves. "I don't know if I can handle this with any kind of poise."

"And I don't believe Chief Jeon would hold it against you," Chanyeol counters gently, leaning back on his hands again. "Of all people, he would know. It takes a lot -- sometimes too much -- grace to still be kind in cruel circumstances."

So without further a do let's get started already! I am so sorry cause I literally went a little of track here.

Okay so hear me out, Rang with animals is just Σ>―(〃°ω°〃)♡→ cause he is soft af.

At first glance you're like "Wtf is he doing in the middle of the city with a puppy in his arms?" cause the both of you had a bad history together. It all started when you decided to join his brother Lee Yeon's side after you realised that he was blinded by revenge. And of course Rang being Rang did not take it well.

So y'all fought real bad and he accused you of betrayal and abandoning him saying that you were "just like the rest". Since then, things became bad between the both of you. Even though you left him, a tiny bit your heart still couldn't erase him from your memories part of the reason lies in the fact that you loved him...romantically.

Of course you being you couldn't help but coo and be disgusted at the sight of Rang holding a puppy who looked 2x times smaller in his arms.

It all began when you came out of the house to go get your monthly supply of banana milk from the convenience store and when you were going back home you came across Rang splayed across the concrete. Being the curious person you were, you decided to wait a bit and see what he trying to do.

After 30 minutes of laying on the ground near the sewer, Rang finally stood up all dirty, holding a dirty puppy who he smiled and coddled.

"Do you know how much trouble you could've gotten in if you fell in deeper? You're lucky I was just passing by...but you're safe now~" Rang cooed as you stood there in disbelief watching as Rang wrapped the shivering puppy with his jacket.

"How is that brat capable of being this soft to animals?" you asked yourself as you went home.

After that for the next week you don't come across Rang even once, not even a little cameo. So your mind was racing with bizarre excuses as to why he wasn't around.

"Why is he not coming to bug me? Did something happen to him? Did he die? Was he finally leaving me alone?"

Wait...first of all...why am I even worried for him? I thought to myself as I took notice of the golden pendant around my neck.

"If he's my enemy and I am his enemy...why do I still wear the pendant he gifted me and why is he still holding on to the ring I gifted him?" You asked youself as you fiddled with the golden heart pendant that you had a special memory with.

Noeul's

Flashback

"Here." I looked up at the golden heart shaped pendant that Rang held out to me while avoiding eye contact.

"What's this for?" I asked as I took it and patted the surface of the heart.

"You said that you wanted to own something pretty and expensive like other girls your age so...that can be it...don't lose it. It's made of pure gold." he said making me gasp.

"You're kidding!" I exclaimed and held it out towards the sun.

"Where did you steal it from?!" I asked earning a smack on the head from Rang.

"Idiot! I didn't steal it!....I got it made for you...it has yours and my initials engraved in it." he said as I looked at the carvings that said R&N.

"Why a heart shape though?" I asked as he sighed.

"You said that hearts were only for people important to you so I got it made in the shape of a heart." he said as a light shade of crimson adorned his face making me smile.

"So, I'm important to you?" I asked him with a smile as he huffed.

"Of course you are!" he said and looked away.

End of Flashback

I sighed and let my pendant fall back to its place around my neck.

"I guess I really am a traitor..." I mumbled to myself when a voice caught me off guard causing a shriek to leave my mouth.

"Yeah you are, I'm surprised it took you this long to come to your senses." I looked up to see Rang seated on my lounge chair with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Will you stop barging in out of nowhere?!" I exclaimed and clutched my chest as he sighed.

"And will you stop questioning where our friendship has ended up at?" he said catching me off guard.

"Yah...were you eavesdropping again?!" I said as he took a sip of his coffee.

"You were the one who left me first so why are you regretting now?" he asked me without answering my question causing me to become speechless as I tried to change the topic.

"Why did you save the puppy from the sewer that day? That's unlike you." I asked trying to change the subject as I saw him falter a little.

"How much did you see?" he asked as I smirked.

"Everything." I said as he groaned.

"You were always so nosy." he said as I felt my anger boil.

"Oh so now we're spilling sudden honest opinions about each other huh?" I questioned as I stood up.

"Yeah, but wasn't it obvious? You were nosy to begin with." he said as I scoffed.

"Yeah like you didn't have any flaws, you were always so moody and attention seeking!" I said as he stood infront of me.

"Yah, shut your mouth." he said slightly raising his voice.

"No, I won't! You started it!" I exclaimed, raising my voice as well.

"I hate you!" He exclaimed as I pushed him lightly.

"Then why do you still wear the ring I got you?" I questioned as the heat of the moment caused an unexpected answer to come out of Rang's mouth.

"Because I fucking love you! So why do you still wear the pendant I made you?!" he asked as I exclaimed.

"Because I fucking love you too, you brat!" I blurted out as we glared at each other when realisation hit us like a truck.

"What-" We said in unison as our expressions cut off each other's words.

"I-I...let's just act as though that didn't happen." I said as he nodded.

"Agreed...we do not speak of this to anyone including ourselves...alright?" he asked as I nodded.

Another two weeks went by and I found myself in Rang's house with him as we fed the dogs and cats after he called me over for a chat.

"So...why do you rescue them?" I asked as he looked away.

"Someone once told me that every living thing that breathes and exists around us has a right to live happily like us...so we should help them..." he said quoting the words I once told him.

"Do you...kill the owners?" I asked after realising that one of them had a tag.

"For some situations...yes...I had to, or else they'd do the same to other animals." he said as I picked up a puppy.

Rang's

As we sat around the animals in silence I was deep in my thoughts when Noeul brought me back to reality by picking up a puppy and patting its head.

"Looks like Rang took great care of you..." She talked to the pup with a soft and loving tone making me soften as I got the courage I needed.

"Hey, Noeul...look, I'm sorry about everything that happened between us over the years and about what I said-" I was about to speak when she cut me off.

"Rang...I like-no...I love you so much...I loved you then and I love you even more now..." I felt my eyes widen at the sudden confession as I looked at Noeul who had focussed her attention to the puppy.

"I-I....I love you even more...the whole reason of me getting you that pendant was to confess but I chickened out at the last moment." I said causing her to look up at me with a surprised look as she smiled.

"So...we're cool now?" she asked as I pulled her by her shoulder and kissed her forehead ever so softly.

"Yeah." He said as we sat where we were and looked at the puppies and kittens with our hands.

#ELENA_ANSWERS: 5 things I like to watch on a rainy day? Hmm. Okay, so on rainy days I like to watch things that give off the same mood as the weather! So my first recommendation would be Mind Hunters. It’s this show that is based off of actual serial killers but it follows the life of this detective. Fair warning, it is extremely graphic in the first episode. (someone sh**ts themselves, I swear that’s the worst part) My second recommendation would be Crime Scene: The Vanishing at Cecil Hotel. I promise you that this one is way more toned down than the other and is about the disappearance and death of Elisa Lam. Can you tell that I’m into true crime? Okay, but if you’re not looking for true crime right now, I would recommend this show called Elite. Basically it’s a Spanish drama that is in the mystery/thriller genre. Things happen after some kids get accepted into an Elite high school full of rich, privileged kids, and I promise it will leave you guessing the whole time. Also don’t worry, if you don’t want to watch it in Spanish with subtitles, you can change the language to English. (all of these can be watched on Netflix!) Now for the last recommendations, I’ll give you some songs I like to listen to on rainy days! My go to songs are Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, Come Up For Air by Skylar Grey, 1974 Live by DeVita, Session 32 by Summer Walker, and Doing It Wrong by Drake. I know that altogether this was more than 5 recommendations but I got a little carried away! I hope that you enjoy these!

so when he gestures you who are sitting on the bench beside, asking you to go over to where he is (the center of the court), and shove his face right into yours, you’re taken aback.

you’re sure you’ve become the center of attention at how everyone on the team has stopped doing whatever they are (stretching, drinking water or even the discussion between coaches).

you stare at him for a few seconds, “oh, you mean your mask?”

“yes.” he’s looking back at you, unwavering.

gulping, you stand on your toes and hands moving to both sides of his ears to reach the string of his mask.

holding the mask in both hands, you look up to his dark eyes, “ye-yes.”

you almost bite your tongue.

you don’t remember how do you get back to the bench and pretend that your overheating mind is able to do the statistic throughout the games. but you certainly remember the creases form around his eyes when he thanks you for keeping it under the widen eyes of his teammates and captain.

Can I please request Rang being alive in 2020 and going back to 1938. He and reader are married in 2020, but in 1938 they were enemies/frenemies. He meets 1938!reader thinking that she is 2020!reader being all like, "Babe, thank god you are here." and is going to kiss her. And 1938!reader is all like "What are you talking about? Get away from me!". 2020!reader having the same situation with 1938!Rang. And then Rang finding his 1938 self trying to get it throught his past selfs thick scul that, he should stop pretending, that he doesn't love her becase they end up together either way.

With low groans Rang stood up from what seemed to be a shed. He looked around to find himself alone in a cow shed. He let out a sigh as he cleaned up himself and got out of the abandoned shed in search of his brother.

"Why did I sign up for this again?" he asked himself as he walked out and scanned the area. After what seemed to be around 30 minutes Rang took out his phone and opened it only to let out a little curse at the appearance of a picture of you sleeping as his lockscreen.

Rang's

"Shit, I forgot about Noeul...she must be worried." I mumbled as I looked at the notification which caused another curse to leave my mouth.

"15 messages...gosh...where's Yeon?!" I exclaimed and start running around in search of him.

I ran towards the town in hopes of finding him there. I felt a sense of panic at the thought of Noeul going and asking Taluipa and everyone of my whereabouts. Plus it didn't help that Noeul was two months pregnant with our little angel. It was a bad idea to leave her alone and come to this wretched place.

Just as I was about to let out a frustrated scream I caught sight of a familiar figure. I rubbed my eyes and tried to see if it was really her and when she made eye contact with me, I couldn't help but run towards her and pull her into my embrace.

"Babe! Thank god you're here. I was so worried." I said when she abruptly pushed me away.

"Ew! What are you talking about?! Get away from me!" she exclaimed as I smiled at her cuteness.

"Baby, I know you're mad but I can explain. I couldn't reply to your texts and-" she cut me off by throwing a punch to my face making me stumble.

"Shut the fuck up! What is wrong with you?!" she exclaimed as I sighed and wiped my lip.

"Okay, I deserved that..." I said as I looked at the sack she was carrying and snapped.

"Yah! You're not supposed to hold heavy things!" I exclaimed and took the sack of rice from here causing a gasp to leave her lips.

"Yah! That's mine!" she exclaimed and tried to get it back causing me to plant a kiss on her forehead.

"Babe, it's for yours and the baby's well being." I said causing her to throw another punch to my face.

"The fuck is wrong with you today?! Baby?! Shut the fuck up Lee Rang." she said making me look up at her in shock.

"You haven't called me that in years-unless....what year is this?" I asked her as she slapped me and walked away with her sack.

"Stay away from me if you don't want to die Lee." she said and left me as I looked around and found a newspaper.

"1938?!" I exclaimed as I ran towards Noeul who groaned in response.

"What?!" she exclaimed as I held her face in my hands and scanned her facial features. She had a tattoo of the sun in the corner of her forehead, she stopped showing it in the open a long time ago. She indeed is Noeul...just not my Noeul.

"Yah! Don't touch me!" she exclaimed and pushed me away as I looked around.

"If the Noeul from the past is here then that means my past self must be here as well." I mumbled to myself and planted a kiss on the crown of her head before running off.

"Take care of yourself!" I said and left leaving a flustered Noeul behind.

"Yah! You fucking bastard come back here!"

"So he's in the past?" a worried Noeul asked Taluipa who only nodded in response.

"Why did you send him there? You know that I'm pregnant right? And now we aren't even sure if he'll come back." Noeul mumbled out as she sighed and caressed her tummy.

"I'll go get him-" I said and stood up only to be cut off by Taluipa.

"No! You're carrying a child in you, it's too risky for you to go there." Taluipa warned as I got up and stood in the middle of the room.

"And it's too risky to let my husband be there any longer. Besides, I may have stopped using my powers like I used to but that doesn't mean that I forgot how to use them... " I said and created a portal and jumped in.

I let out a frustrated sigh as I looked around the forest.

"Baby, let's go find papa." I said and lovingly caressed my tummy and went along the path in hopes of finding Rang.

After an hour I finally reached the outskirts of the town and smiled at the nostalgic scent that encapsulated me as I reminisced about the town I once called home.

As I walked through the streets, I felt a familiar feeling of someone following me causing me to turn back and quickly draw my sword to protect me from the unknown swordsman.

"Ah, looks like your training finally paid off." I widened my eyes at the sight of Rang in front of me making me throw a punch to his face.

"What the fuck are you trying to do?! Do you even know how worried I was?! When Taluipa told me you came here I was so scared! And what's wrong with your hair?!" I exclaimed as he pushed me away.

"The fuck is your deal?!" he exclaimed making my anger boil as I created a ball of fire and shot it at him.

"Yah! I'm carrying your child! Gosh! First you leave me and now you trash me around like that?!" I exclaimed as he looked at me with confused eyes.

"You can rot in hell! I'm not saving you!" I exclaimed and walked away with a huff.

After leaving Noeul to herself I ran to all my favourite spots of this period only to frown when I couldn't find myself. I let out a huff and wiped my sweat.

"Aish, I feel like shit...might as well just wash off when I can." I told myself and walked towards the river and bent down. Cupping my hands, I took some water and splashed it on my face. While I was doing so I stopped at the sound of the water splashing next to me and turned to look at who it was.

"You!" I exclaimed as the man looked at me in shock and surprise.

"Yah! Who are you?!" he exclaimed as I looked at his form.

"What did you do to yourself?! You're still not over the bandit phase?" I asked him as he looked at me in disbelief.

"Who are you? And why the fuck are you disguised as me?" he asked as I let out a curse.

"Why should I? She's nothing to me." he said making me smack the back of his head.

"Quit lying...I know you find her adorable...embrace it already! Your behaviour will only cause her gloom." I said as he avoided eye contact. I opened my mouth to speak again when a familiar feeling in my heart caused me to look a certain direction.

"Do as I told you, treat her with love and care...I'm off!" I exclaimed and ran with a smile when I felt my Noeul's aura around here.
