nikki???? u followed me??? pLEASE??? to say I've been spazzing since I got the notification is an understatement 😭

I've been trying to make time for myself if that counts HAHAHAHAH the school paper sadly cannot run itself and required attention even before the school year started, which was both expected and exciting, yet still a bit daunting 😂

I managed to go through all of your posts I missed, hence the spam of notifications.. I'm sorry if I blew up your phone HAHAHAHA but I'm really glad i did look through everything because I learned quite a bit about you! It's really nice how I can now associate hobbies and a profession with a person I look up to! (You looked so beautiful in your dresses, by the way! Don't let those aunties get to you, you look amazing the way you are! Though I do understand that all us asian females have to live with their outdated mindsets around, I much rather think about the fact that the amount of women raising each other's confidences is rising and there are a bunch of progressive aunties and grandmas out there <33)

I also saw that mr. Nikki is out for military service, I hope he's staying safe and that you aren't feeling too lonely. Do you get to talk to him while he's away? I hope the Bokuto fic kept you company even for a little bit (speaking of,, IM SO EXCITED FOR IT!!).

Nostalgia and comfort food in a bowl. PORK, SHRIMP, MUSHROOM WONTON Based on recipe by Lai Mark, (YenYen) Rosie’s MIL 5 oz. Chinese black mushrooms (dry) 2-1/4 pounds ground pork (preferably from Asian market – it’s less lean) 2 pounds peeled and deveined shrimp 1 pound Chinese sausage or Lap Cheong (usually comes in 1 lb. pkg.) 2 bunches green onion 2 bunches cilantro (use stems and leaves) 1-2 carrots (4 oz/140gr) 6 stalks celery (12 oz/338 gr) 1 small jicama (13 oz/370 gr) or fresh water chestnuts, peeled 1/2-3/4 cup tapioca starch (3-4 oz/about 100 gr) 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup oyster sauce 1-2 Tbsp. sesame oil (to preference) 2 tsp. salt (approximately) About 6 (16 oz) packages wonton wrappers 1. Soak mushrooms in boiling water to cover until very soft, at least 1 hour. Drain well; reserve liquid for soup, a stir-fry or other sauce. 2. Place pork in a large bowl. 3. Pulse the mushrooms, shrimp and vegetables individually in food processor or chop finely to desired size; add to bowl with the pork. Mix in about ½ cup tapioca starch, the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and salt until thoroughly blended. (Amount of tapioca starch depends on how wet the vegetables are.) 4. To test level of seasoning by filling a wonton and cooking, or pan-frying a bit of meat until done. Adjust seasonings as desired. 5. Use about 1-1/2 teaspoons filling for each wonton wrapper. Dust wonton with tapioca starch to keep from sticking. If not cooking immediately, freeze in plastic bags or sealed containers. 6. To cook: Simmer in a large pot of water about 5 minutes (longer if frozen); wonton will bob to the top when done. Test to be sure they are cooked through. Serve in chicken broth simmered with sliced ginger, green onion and garnish with cilantro. Or, deep fry wonton and serve with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping. Ending the Curse of Debts

My journey as a single mother was not an easy ride after I broke up with my husband, I was left with all the responsibilities and financial obligations that should be shared by a couple. I admit I was born not with a silver spoon in my mouth but despite this, my parents did their best to raise me up well together with my 4 other siblings, (3 sisters and 1 brother). Growing up, I have nothing but a dream that one day I will be able to break up the cycle of a poverty stricken family which every once in a while would have to beg other people to lend us money just for us to survive for our daily food and fare. It was not this clear for me, not until I became a mother in my 20's. I realized how hard it was to feed a child and to look for resources just to give my sons their daily sustenance. I came to a point where I thought the answer to my financial issues is a higher pay, so I did find my way to getting a bigger salary by working in the Queen City of South -Cebu. Little did I know that God's plan was to reach me out towards getting to know Him more by introducing me to a wonderful woman named "Elle". She was a trainer in the first call center I worked for here in Cebu. I looked up to her because of her versatility, her unique character and angelic aura. I thought to myself everytime I look at her, "she is too perfect". It was indeed God's perfect plan as He lead me to repent on my deadly doings as a person, it lead me to know how God's love for me should compell me to stop hurting Him more. That was the start of my new life in Christ, that was August 21, 2011. The next chapter of my story revolved on my relationship with my husband, I prayed to God that we can still be united again thru God's amazing power. I tried, God knows I really tried until everything was too exhausting and dissapointing already that almost lead me to the dark path again. God's love was more evident when the people that sorrounded me would point me back to the right direction over and over again, though I was too stubborn to listen most of the time. One day, my burdens caused by long term wrong decisions about money and life hit me hard, I had no where to go, I had no one to run to except God. I talked to Elle again via chat and told her the misery that I was going thru, she patiently listened to me and then invited me to talk to her younger sister. I was clueless what would it be about, but I still went on with the appointment- knowing that her aim was to help me and who am I to say no? After all, Elle has proven herself to be a helping hand to me for the longest time. I met her wondeful sister named "YenYen" in a coffee shop in Ayala. She didn't get right into the business when I arrived, she sincerely got to know me by asking me some questions about myself and she also introduced herself to me. Her story inspired me knowing that she can relate to the "empoverish" life that I am in ATM (at the moment). She told me that almost all successful people in this industry did not have money at all, and that was why they worked hard for it. She, then introduced me to a certain "US based company", an "NYSE" listed company which was all I can grasp at that time. When she gave me the information how the business can be started, I told my poor self that it wasn't for me because of- lack of funds. But what I was amazed at hearing from her is this; "If your problem today is MONEY, what makes you think that tomorrow MONEY is no longer going to be a problem?" What do I have in my mind to change the situation? Starting that day on, I could never go back to deep sleep and I spent nights and mornings being awake, thinking about what she told me. Until one day, I took the risk which wasn't a risk at all when I look back to that memory. I was able to remove some of the stress in me, when I placed all the trust in what God can do rather than on what I can do. Yenyen together with her husband Jude, mentored me and made the Bible scripture clear to me- about the birds that do not go hungry because of God's amazing providence, yet they challenged me that though the birds have been provided for by God, they still continue to do what they ought to, they wake up in the morning to find food, they searched relentlessly until they found what God prepared for them. From that moment on, my life was never the same. I invested my time in learning new things, I invested my heart in whatever God has given me, and most of all, I worked hard for the opportunity that God has made me see. I am still a work in progress today both in my career and spirituality. I am learning each day and unlearning the things that I need to unlearn. I have more HOPE today more than I ever had a few years before I met them. To everyone out there, who have been praying for an opportunity, either to know more about Him and be able to do His will or to know about the road to freedom in their health and finances, feel free to message me and I will be willing to meet you personally together with these wonder people that I have mentioned above. im so sorry but this is gonna be really long 😭 i know it's a bit late but i just read a sea of flowers in bloom because i got busy while waiting for it to finish (im too impatient to read on going series') and i really need to let this all out. i apologize for bad grammar and vocabulary in advance—im still crying

first i wanna say that you captured all the emotions so well. i cried reading every single chapter (because i was either sad, hurt, or proud). the way you wrote it was so beautifully expressive and described, i couldn't help but hold onto every word you wrote. your writing style never ceases to amaze and enchant me.

moving forward tho, i love how the story really captured how an individual's insecurities and self perception affect how they make their choices and how their relationships play out. i think that's something that's greatly overlooked yet so important to remember (both when evaluating yourself and the actions of others). i also love how you also showcased the importance of communication, not just with your partner/potential partner but also the release of emotions and the troubles we don't notice we have.

you managed to highlight the importance of being open to change and learning how to rely on yourself for happiness and i think you wrote that so beautifully—it felt so real and raw. i was so proud of mc for slowly realizing how much power she holds over her own happiness and it was so realistic how she found the strength to move forward when Kaiyo needed her the most—because that's what a sense of responsibility, indebtedness, and most importantly love does. Their friendship is beautiful and it's wonderfully executed.

i love how you dedicated a whole chapter to how kita feels and his thought process (tho it isn't surprising since you do give both perspectives in all your other stories) and how he came into terms with the fact that he wanted to try—he's going to try because he wants her. i also love how you implied that communication took time for them and how it's a conscious effort on both parts. there's also the fact that they have their own little 'ritual' of saying "It's because you love my voice" for when they need confidence to say what's on their minds,,, ma'am pls u made me cry more with how soft and meaningful that is, how your love for someone will give you courage and confidence because they love something about you or how you do something. it's just so real.

it really is beautifully written story about two people who learn that there's someone out there that will love them for the people that they are.

there's so much more I'd like to say, but i think this is enough for now. Thank you so much for sharing your writing with us, you're truly so talented. I can't wait to read your future work and reread all your other stories! I hope you stay safe always and get a good amount of rest!

right so - pls don't ever apologise for length or grammar or wtv - i love love your ask, and i think i must've read it at least ten times ehehe and i shld be the one to apologise for answering this so late!

i think i started off wanting to write this as a simple love story with the v handsome, v wonderful kita shinsuke, but i just wasn't satisfied with how kita's oftentimes depicted as the perfect man (i mean i personally love reading fics like that - e.g. @inarizahki drabbles never fail to make me hoot and fall in love) and i wanted for my own fic, to delve in deeper, dig into his psyche, his insecurities, his fears. and so while doing that, i developed the reader's own journey, her own fears and insecurities paralleling his, and how their choices make them grow and make their relationship eventually not just possible, but very, very fruitful ;)

hahaha now im worried im gonna be predictable (but i do love writing both perspectives in my fics!! good spot there hoho) but it is so true. marriage has taught me that communication is key, bcos good intentions can only get you so far. it's not an easy thing for either of them to learn, but like you said - their love gives them confidence, their love builds trust, and that little ritual - talk to me, because i love the sound of your voice is just...something that spoke to me and i felt like that would really be the cornerstone of their eventual relationship, because miscommunications really derailed their early friendship and courtship.

and the reader's friendship with kaiyo. y'know i was worried that...i might bore ppl bcos kaiyo is my own character, and we're here to read romance HAHAHA but it's just so impt to me to write women supporting women and healthy female friendships so they really have each other's backs, and it's just such a meaningful moment to me when the reader realises that she's got to buck the fuck up when kaiyo's down for the count and ugh. i love the both of them.

oh gosh i'm glad you love my other works too!!!! i feel like each work of mine in the storm chaser universe is kinda different in tone, but it's just fun tying them all together :)

p.s. yeah like - i didn't know i cld get out there and fight for that raise, and get a healthier work environment with nicer bosses but wanting to pull my weight in my marriage really motivated me HAHAHAHA. fingers crossed it turns out well, but ty for the well wishes bb <3
