You have to understand, I love Mergana! But maybe I love the potential more than what we got from the show.

What I mean by that is that it's very hard to ship Mergana when the show gives you a Merlin that just follows whatever bullcrap Killgarrah the dragon tells him without questioning it.

Hell, the only time he does was that one time when he claims Morgana was his friend when her magic is "awakened" so to speak (I'd argue her magic was always there, but it was there in the form of her seer dreams) and he wanted to help her without revealing to her he had magic.

That was the only time! And then after that... well they're hardly what you would call friends...

I guess I'll just have to endure the angst of this episode and then when it leads up to him poisoning Morgana. A friend told me he was going through a lot that season what with his father dying...except his father dies in the season finale of Season 2, an episode after he poisons Morgana...

so what excuse does he have beyond he was really tired due to Morgause's spell. Well I have to watch the episode as I don't really remember all of what happened in that episode tbh.

I really hated the poisoning bit. Reminded me of the season finale of Season 2 Earth of Avatar the Last Airbender when Zuko betrays his uncle and sides with Azula... yes I admit I was kind of a Zutara shipper thanks to the crystal cave scene in Season 2 tbh when Zuko and Katara talked about their mothers. Her look of betrayal hurt. Hell, it was just like Morgana's look of betrayal when she realized Merlin poisoned her.

Damn I want to write a fic now and draw a crystal cave scene with Merlin and Morgana now.
