I really hope manga artists and ppl who work on anime start protesting because the conditions they’re forced to work under are terrifying, especially considering the MASSIVE amount of anime content that’s been being shit out these past few years. the stories of huge companies with high budgets having to hire amateur animators from twitter, the mass production of samey, bland stories and merch that everyone will forget exists two years later. Terrifying shit like stories of people just collapsing and dying at their desks, the stories of mangaka having no free time and not being able even meet with their own children, no breaks to eat or sleep, no living, having your dreams turned into a nightmare. The sad thing is that I know if these protests happens people are gonna be bitching about it, like we haven’t been absolutely spoiled enough already. Like dude just go back and watch the 5 anime that came out last season that were genuinely good, but you missed, because you were watching 3 other new ones at the same time. I would love for protests to break out, I’m actively hoping for them. I would gladly watch no new anime or manga come out for as long as it takes for these people to get good working conditions that don’t require them throwing away their lives.

Do you think death note is dark? It's not that much for me. When I discovered death note I don't expect it to come from shonen jump. The ending broke me actually. Especially yagami family.

I think that it is dark and sad; it's chock full of murder and manipulative characters and cruel irony and grey morality, nothing much positive happens to anybody development-wise because of all they go through, the main character is mostly causing all the calamity rather than fighting against it, and there is a lot more cynical and nihilistic philosophy built into the premise than there is something optimistic and cheerful and light.

HOWEVER, I think it is also very funny and ironic and silly in a deliberate and sneaky way a lot of the time, especially in the manga. It doesn't spend a lot of time ever wallowing in the misery and drama caused by all the chaos, nor slow down the action and suspense for overly long periods of time in order to get really preachy and dry, nor try too hard to force you to sympathize with any of the more ambitious and egotistical characters involved. And despite literally being about a mass murderer and including so many shady characters and situations it is a fairly tame and cerebral story most of the time in terms of what it shows onscreen, and doesn't include much of any gratuitous violence or gore. I think that all makes it a lot more palatable and entertaining to me than many other darker and more cynical sorts of stories, which often can get uncomfortable to me in the things they depict onscreen, or stay completely somber in tone from the beginning to end.

And I think the fact that it doesn't have a big message attached to it other than that the audience should be drawing their own conclusions and asking their own questions about the stuff going on in the story works way better for a story like this than something else would have worked. I like the "cautionary tale" sort of vibe it has, even if it's also pretty bleak. Often times these nihilistic/pessimistic type of stories can get way too self-serious and sneering and eye-rolly for me, and leave nothing sacred in a way I find distasteful, boring, or can't bring myself to actually take seriously. They usually paint such an inaccurately nasty picture of humankind or whatever that they're not really saying anything I feel is very clever, interesting, or that actually rings true to me sometimes about human nature or society in a thought-provoking way... which is unfortunate, since that's exactly what those kinds of stories are setting out to do. But I think DN does a really good job with the level of seriousness and self-awareness it strikes for most of the things it is depicting onscreen, and with providing other points of views and other types of characters for people to hear from and think about occasionally instead of just constantly glorifying and depicting the most edgy and egotistical and nihilistic ones in a positive light and that's it.

And yeah, I haven't actually gotten super familiar with a ton of Shonen manga or anime on a personal level, but it definitely has a different vibe to me than the other ones I do know. Most of the ones I've seen the protagonists are also very ambitious and heroic and optimistic and so on, but I think in Death Note that stuff maybe gets lampooned in a bit of an ironic/dark-humoured way. Light is mostly doing awful and manipulative things to everybody around him in the name of similar types of ideals and optimistic ambitious goals, after all. I feel like it only really works as well as it does because it never really seems like Ohba is actually trying to glorify Light's behaviour and ideals too much, but instead always wanting you to be thinking critically about everything he is and does the entire time you're watching him attempt to create a new world. A lot of what Light does has strong parallels with real-life people who started out aggressively trying to change the world for the better based on their own ideals and frustrations with society and eventually ended up becoming cruel and hypocritical tyrannical dictators who had to be forcefully overthrown. So I am glad it seems like Ohba wasn't ever just sincerely glorifying stuff like that without also adding lots of implications in there too that the audience should definitely be thinking critically about everything going on in the story the entire time. Characters like Ryuk are especially good for prodding the audience into thinking about Light in a different sort of way too; such as when Ryuk points out to the readers that if Light kills everybody who will cause harm to others then he will be the only bad person left himself.

1.) Vanus Galerion (Elder Scrolls Online)

Picking just one character from that game is so hard. Abnur Tharn was an extremely close second, but Vanus took the cake. I don't really know how to explain why he is always top dog without getting too personal, but he made a really difficult time in my life bearable, which means a lot when you're only half alive.

2.) Varric Tethras (Dragon Age 2)

Yeah, everybody loves Varric. I mean how can't you? He is either that supportive best friend you always wanted or he is the reminder of who you always strive to be. Plus this poor child... If you've never taken the chance to properly look up his past, sit down and have a read. He deserves all the happiness in the world.

3.) Wrex (Mass Effect)

I love him. I just absolutely adore him. Everyone says Garrus is the ultimate best friend or romantic option to Shepherd- no, it's Wrex. I will die on that hill.

4.) Abel Nightroad (Trinity Blood)

Abel...did the same for me as Vanus did, and the entire series as a whole is just fantastic. Sadly its a very broken series. The anime is only ok, the manga was never finished in English officially (to my knowledge anyway), but the Light Novels are the BEST way to go, yet they are very underrated and unknown to most.

5.) Dionysus or Mr. D (Percy Jackson)

Honestly wasn't sure if I should include him but then remembered my own wedding invitations featured me holding a staff with a flaming pinecone on top because of him. My Olympian parent in the PJO universe, I ended up reading the series as an adult and around the time my therapy sessions and medicine started to sink in- Mr. D's handle on mental illness just really spoke to me. Plus he's hilarious. If you work in any sort of educational program with kids, you'll understand.

6.) Makos (Neverwinter MMO)

I just think he's neat. Can't wait to see what the future has in store for him, no matter how badly it rips apart my or my cleric's hearts.

7.) Halsin (Baldurs Gate 3)

This man doesn't even have a fully developed story yet, we only know scraps about his past from datamined audio which could be cut and scrapped anyway, and I haven't even played the game. But you ever watch gameplay, see a character, and instantly it just clicked with them? That's Halsin for me.

8.) Crookedstar (Warrior Cats Saga)

Get ready to get punched in the gut by pre-teen years lived in 2010 era! Loved this series as a kid and still do- not the current version, but the original four arcs are still perfection. Crookedstar has always been my favorite. His Special Edition novel is a great read! Don't want to say too much and spoil it.

9.) Starscream (Transformers IDW Comics)

Maturing is growing up and reading the Transformers Comics, after years of the great cartoons. Always loved Starscream for just how terrible he was, but then you read the comics and see just what drove him there and the constant mental hell he lives in now... I'll always love you, Scream.

10.) Aslan (Chronicles of Narnia)

I don't understand why I'd need to explain this. It's Jesus' fursona- why wouldn't I love Him. Plus the books....oh the books are so good.

I feel so much for Kamala feeling that everybody treats her hobbies as something for kids, too childish which she should abandon. I am not Pakistani. I am slavic, and in my country? Everything cool. Games, Cosplay, Anime and Manga, is treated like something childish and not something we should be interested in. They don’t get it. They, meaning all the adults older than me in my parents age group, are acting as if they had no hobbies, only work and future, work and future, and alcoholic libations and weddings. Nothing more beyond that, so Kamala’s pain is so relatable. She just wants her family to accept her as she is, but they don’t want to.

So... Kamala got her powers from some stuff they got from a family member in this universe? Did that person who sent it KNEW about this? And what was that whole “you know what happens to people like that” as if there was some weird family history related to Nani?

But I must say there was a split moment when Kamala’s eyes changed color to red even before she put the bracelet on, so it may be that the bracelet just unlocks and supports the already existing powers Kamala had? Though I still prefer her original powers. She is an Inhuman which can embiggen herself, but of course Marvel won’t introduce Inhumans, because it would be too much work to add Terrigen Myst and stuff even though they already had Inhumans in Agents of SHIELD. (They’re ignoring that show I suppose lol).

Also who is bringing Kamala in for what?! Who are those guys?! SHIELD? SWORD? NYPD? WHO ARE YOU?

Yes I’m very interested in Hyuse and Yuma. Hyuse grew up auctioned off as a slave and has been taken in on the black market by thankfully a good family. He’s been fighting since he was at least 8. He’s cold and detached but plenty emotional and caring.

Yuma has been fighting since at least 8 as well. He died at 11 and has been fighting in a dead body since. Now he has things to live for but he literally found them too late.

I often wonder if B ranks know about yuma being a neighbor but they didn’t say anything about their suspicions. These 2 newbies who fight with a viciousness and no hesitation to kill. I often wonder how the border agents feel about the ongoing nei conflict.

Yeah they both have a lot going on that’s very interesting to think about! I’m excited to see Hyuse's fights be animated.

I do remember that --spoilers for the manga/upcoming events in s3-- after Hyuse first officially joins Tamakoma 2 Osamu starts to get concerned because of how he’s standing out due to his skill + fighting style, and is worried that he’s attracting too much attention/potential suspicion so they have him tone it down a bit. But it’s been a long time since I’ve read that part, so I don’t remember if anyone in border was actually suspicious of Hyuse or if it was a purely preventative measure on Osamu’s part. Hyuse kinda seems like he puts the barest amount of effort necessary into blending in lmao, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some agents in border were confused or suspicious about him but didn’t mention it.

I think Yuma’s situation in general is so interesting. Like it’s easy to forget that he’s on the verge of death and has been that way for like four years?? Because the series doesn’t bring it up that often, and he seems to mask some of his more negative emotions behind a positive/casual outward facing attitude. But I feel like there’s no way that doesn’t weigh on him constantly even if it’s subconscious, and it just makes me wonder how it affects the decisions he makes and how he thinks about things (which incidentally was what my fan-comic was about lol). I wasn’t expecting the OP and ED for s3 to be so focused on him but I’m definitely here for it!

Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if people knew about Yuma either (well. more than the ones who already do I guess?), especially since he interacts w/ a lot of Border agents regularly. Honestly both him and Hyuse are just so attention grabbing in general (not to mention that they’re both really talented newbies who ended up on the same team somehow, I wonder if anybody thought that was suspicious lol). I think the idea that there’s a rumor circulating at HQ about Yuma and/or Hyuse being neighbors that Tamakoma just has to kind of wave off every time they hear about it is kinda funny lol.

Honestly for me it’s a bit hard to get a grasp on the agents feelings about neighbors at all because for a lot of them their motivation for being Border agents seems to be “I want to protect my city and also have a good time hanging out and doing cool fights”. Out of the three ideological factions in Border, HQ seems to be? the biggest? And they’re the neutral party, so I guess that’s why a lot of agents seem indifferent to the earth/neighborhood conflict beyond how it affects them directly.

But then I would also imagine that there’s a difference in opinion/perspective between B-rank agents who work only on defense-duty, and A-rank agents who have actually been on away missions and have personal experience with the neighborhood. Like you would think that the people who have actually been there have Some sort of opinion about all of this but I guess we’ve only seen what a few of them think. Not to mention Tamakoma agents like Konami, Reiji, and Jin who have been with Border since its inception and likely have perspectives that are VERY different from everybody else’s since they actually know about Border’s original formation and goals.

Honestly trying to sift through all that makes my brain turn into a pretzel. There’s way too much going on in this series hahaha.

Set a year after the current Anime Haikyuu timeline, a.k.a. Shirabu and Reader are third years and Ushijima has graduated. The new first years are referred to as, you guessed it, the first years.

“Wakatoshi!” (y/n) gasped, running over to his boyfriend.

The first years were confused to see their vice-captain running over to some rando with olive hair, as he was blocking their line of sight.

(y/n) tackled the olive-haired man in a hug, making him stumble back.

“Wakatoshi-kun, (n/n)!” The first years heard a screech coming from behind the rando and senpai. Not long after the screech, they saw a red haired man tackle the two.

Rando #1 stumbled back again from the second weight depending on him, but like the strong man he was with those muscles, he was able to keep stable and stand straight.

“What a lively entrance.” Another rando emerged, this one had some peculiar hair and a mom-friend vibe.

“Oh, hey Semi.” And another rando appeared, he one was tanner and had brown hair. The last two randos greeted each other, shaking hands and bowing.

Shirabu, the captain, watched while shaking his head. “And you call yourself the vice-captain, (l/n)?”

“Oh, shut it, Shirabu.” (y/n) laughed, detangling himself from his boyfriend and their friend. “I was voted vice-captain.”

Shirabu rolled his eyes, walking over to the third years and greeting them.

“Happy Birthday, Ushijima-san.” 

One of the first years gasped, nearly falling over. He started freaking out about Ushijima and all his accomplishments towards his fellow first years. It was a wonder how he couldn’t tell from the start though. fake fan

“I missed you.” (y/n) said with a toothy smile. He pressed a cheek on Ushijima’s cheek.

Ushijima tilted his head, “But I saw you a month ago.”

(y/n) laughed, shaking his head. “Wakatoshi, that’s a lot.”

At the interaction between the couple, the same first year gasped again. He had to sit down because he was getting little dizzy.

Ushijima didn’t think a month was that big, but he leaned in and pressed a kiss on (y/n)’s cheek anyway.

“So, how are the Schweiden Adlers?” The third years caught up while Shirabu was walking around and telling people to continue practice.

Coach Washijo was glaring at them, he might have been glad he got to see his former players again but that didn’t mean there should’ve been a diversion during crucial training time.

Practice had ended, the current third years and second years were catching up with their former seniors.

“Tendō-senpai,” Goshiki started, but he was cut off by the one and only.

“Call me Satori, Tsutomu. I’m no longer your senpai~” He teased, patting Goshiki aggressively on the back.

“Eh, Sa-Satori, why didn’t we celebrate your birthday?” The second year asked.

“I was doing something, in France.”

“WHAT?!”

Tendō laughed, “Yeah! Anybody want chocolate?” He asked nonchalantly. He held up a small square of chocolate but everybody was too surprised to react if they wanted any.

“Chocolate? Tendo, why were you even in France?” (y/n) asked, face scrunched up in confusion.

“I’m training to be a chocolatier.”

Silence ensued, only to be broken by Reon. He shrugged, “Tendō’s random like that.” He said, laughing. “Just like his hair.”

The redhead’s hair had changed drastically, he’d shaved his curly head of hair and was now letting it grow. He kinda looked like Karasuno’s new ace, the baldy with the ‘intimidating’ face.

“So what do you do now, Reon?” Tendō asked playfully.

“I play for Kiniro Sports Jumpers and I’m looking to work at a sporting company.”

Goshiki let out an “Ooh!” in awe at the knowledge that his other senpai was also a professional volleyball player.

“Semi?” Goshiki was excited to hear what his most stern senpai was doing.

“I’m mostly a civil servant, but I’m a musician too.”

“PFFTT!” Tendō burst out laughing, doubling over and covering his mouth. Semi got irked straight away, a vein bulging out of his forehead.

“What are you laughing for, you lame chocolatier?!”

“Our Semi Semi, a musician?”

Semi smacked him in the back of his bald head, making him double over in pain rather than laughter. “You’ve never even heard me play!”

“Semi-san, calm down.” Reon said, holding back a laugh.

Semi rolled his eyes, grumbling to himself under his breath.

“Hey, we’re almost at the restaurant.”

“So what do you think about the new first years and the second years?” Ushijima asked as he tucked into bed.

His lover raised an eyebrow, getting onto the bed as well. Their night routines were over and the birthday party was too tiring for them to feel like having sex, so they were just about going to sleep.

“You’re not asking me to give you a volleyball analysis of them, are you?”

Ushijima shook his head. “Do you think they’d be capable third years?”

“Don’t get all sappy on me, Wakatoshi.” (y/n) pulled his boyfriend closer, wrapping his arms around him tighter.

“I’m serious, (y/n). I think you and Shirabu are good captains. Goshiki is doing well, his spikes are stronger. So is Kawinishi, his blocks are tighter. Who would next year’s captain be?” Ushijima cupped (y/n)’s face, running his thumb across the skin.

“It’s too early in the year for this, Wakatoshi.” (y/n) grumbled, leaning into Ushijima’s hand.

“I know, but--” His lover cut him off by pressing a short kiss on his lips.

“Start asking that after we win nationals.” Ushijima smiled, leaning in for another kiss, one longer than the other.

“I love you, Wakatoshi. Don’t think about all this sappy shit on your birthday.”

Ushijima laughed. “I love you too.”

Naruto:

Ok the first outfit was terrible but we’ll give him a pass since he didn’t really have many people to look up to. 

Changing the blue to black was the best decision this kid made, fashion wise, so kudos to that. That said, the shippuden outfit is still too much of a tracksuit for my tastes.

The Last outfit was pretty good if we ignore the undershit, but his civillian outfit was

WHAT ARE THOSE

His Hokage outfit is my favourite, I prefer the black pants, the sandals are gone thank the gods and it’s the best shade of orange he has used by far.

Overall, 7/10

Sasuke:

He changed outfits more than he changed sides and like with those, there are some MISSES.

He looks like a nerd in the first one, fight me.

Can’t never hate on the onesie cause black looks much better than the blue he used before and it gave us gems like this:

Then there’s the elephant in the room which haunted him for all of Shippuden and no it wasn’t his turn to the dark side, I’m talking about his belt. I’m sorry Sasuke but only Orochimaru and some of the sound 4 made that look work. You look silly.

I will admit that his second black outfit looked much better in the manga

It almost made me forget the rope.

The Akatsuki oufit is ok mainly because red works for him and it hides the belt.

The outfit in the last is... a choice. That brown poncho with the tri color necklaces don’t work for him at all and the clothes underneath are on the meh side of bland.

Finally, his epilogue outfit is pretty good, the colors work well for him even if I think the vest makes him look like a waiter, which is hilarious.

5/10 mainly cause he had a lot of chances and he wasted most of them.

Shikamaru:

boring, next

Ok, I can do better than that.

Ironically I think the first outfit worked pretty well for him. The mesh shirt with the bolero look nice and the colors (if we ignore the blue) fit his forest/deer theme. 

Then he got lazy.

His epilogue outfit is the best he has looked in years, I LOVE the jacket and the colors, though I would put a belt on him.

5/10, he didn’t have as many chances as Sasuke but also didn’t even try most of the time. At least Sasuke took risks.

Chouji:

Why is he wearing underwear as headgear.

Anyway, it looks like he picked the rest while half asleep and eyes closed.

You know, we were going somewhere around Shippuden, the colors look FANTASTIC on him and combined with the hair it makes him look imposing while also cuddly.

He looks half dressed in the movie, like he forgot half the armour at home. Also, downgrade on the hair.

His epilogue outfit is his genin outfit. Are you kidding me Kishimoto. IT’S EXACTLY THE SAME.

At least he lost the underwear and he looks good with the beard?

6/10, i’m giving him extra point for the second outfit cause it was one of the best ones.

Rock Lee:

You know what, I respect a man that can look good when all he has are a onesie, bandages and a lifetime supply of leg warmers.

Also, anybody who rips off the sleeves of an outfit to show guns knows what they are doing.

7/10, not very original but he knows what works for him.

Neji:

I hated the beige life jacket/shorts combo of part one but the hindsight of wearing comfy pajamas before his era long nap is genius ngl, Byakugan so good he can look into the future.

The beige to white was a wise upgrade.

4/10 There’s not much to work with, sadly

Kiba:

The first one can do no wrong cause it includes a tiny Akamaru as an accesory.

Second outfit is a ninja biker dream. 10/10 would recommend.

I mosly blame the anime for ruining a perfectly good outfit cause he looked perfect in the Kishimoto sketches for the Last

then movie comes out and... yeah.

The dad sandals in the epilogue pain me physically and I wish the pants were longer, but otherwise it’s good and I dig the hair.

8/10 Nobody said I was gonna be 100% objective.

Shino:

So I’m not the biggest fan of those ugly brown shorts, but nature is his theme, we can forgive him.

That said his costume progress is like a Pokemon evolution. He just gets bigger and cooler.

I’m not the biggest fan of his epilogue look either, I’m not digging the hair and I miss the jacket.

8/10 My boy sticks to a theme and does it well and if he wants to join Starfleet who am I to judge

Bonus, Sai:

You know what, everybody made fun of Sai for that crop top but he ended up a true fashionista, easily the best epilogue outfit by far. It’s classy, comfy and well balanced. The wonders of being married to Ino.

Now im not gonna say 'dont feel bad pls' bc I know that's not really useful but what I do think is useful is just discussing why that anon and many others feel the need to respond that way. As someone who follows a lot of writing blogs myself and have done for a long time, i've seen my handful of favourite writers come and go for different reasons, lose motivation for a while, gain motivation for a while, go from multi to single fandom, or single fandom to multi. Often times as a reader it can be upsetting when things change but it's also important as a reader to understand that some things aren't in anyone's control, I can't control what my favourite writers become a fan of or lose interest of, I can't control things in their personal lives that may motivate or demotivate them to write, but what I can do is support them as long as they're active, and if they move on to do things i'm no longer interested in or i'm the one that changed interests, rather than being upset that they're evolving to do other things or that they're not evolving with me, I think it's important that I still feel thankful for the works that I enjoyed while we were still on the same page and this is how I personally deal with those negative feelings. I think the anons that lash out at you probably just dont know what to do with themselves, maybe they got attached to your works while you were still only a jjba blog and now that you're evolving they're upset, while I understand how they feel, they're going the completely wrong way about it. I've learned to take these things and turn them into something positive for myself or at least something bittersweet that I can move on from but the anons that lash out at you for whatever reason probably haven't learned this yet. Maybe it's because i've moved on and changed interests a lot myself that I know how these things go for both writers and readers but those anons maybe haven't experienced this as much so they dont know what to do with themselves other than complain that you've changed and throw insults at you in an attempt to get you to revert back. None of this is because of the quality of your writing like they want you to believe, it's literally just because you've evolved and while some of your old followers might not like the new content for no reason other than it not being their cup of tea, it's definitely not regressed at all. You are pumping out a lot of content right now but every single thing i've read has just been better than the last. Things that really stand out to me is how well you get characterisation down to a T and all of your dialogue is just on point and from the pov of a reader I think those things seem the hardest to get right so I am such a huge fan of your stuff at the moment and I can tell you're really putting so much thought and care into each and every fic no matter how fast you're producing it, I think the fact that you're also proud of what you're writing at the moment really shines through as well and I just adore the passion that radiates from every completed request as well as in the responses for the subsequent thirsts resulting from these works that appear in your ask box later (I know i've sent quite a few by now~)

Just to be clear i'm not defending those anons in any way, while I can understand what they might be feeling/why they're reacting in the way they are I still believe it's just so immature to be hateful online point blank. Even during a time where I still got upset with writers if they started doing something else I still never targeted that negativity directly to the writer and sending rude or hateful comments whether on anon or not never something i'd stooped low enough to do even when I still had an immature way of thinking, however, I hope that it might make it a little easier to brush them off if we try and understand what they're really upset about, and that they're just putting the blame for their negative feelings onto the wrong thing rather than coming to terms with change themselves.

hello anon!! i appreciate the long message. i do feel bad for people who have no interest in what i’m currently producing and i get that they feel upset about it; i’ve watched a lot of fellow jojo writers move on completely or just stop posting, honestly. this kind of thing is why i was so intense about asking people if it would be better if i made a separate blog but the resounding answer seemed to be ‘i’m just vibing with whatever happens and i’ll block tags as needed’. 

i often return to works by my favourite reader-insert writers who no longer write for the fandoms i like (and i read stuff bc it sounds interesting or i trust the person who writes it), but change can be difficult and i guess at this point i’ve - whether u like me or not lmao - been a fixture in jojo reader-insert tumblr for a While so it’s probably kind of jarring.

all might sucks

Okay so I’ve never posted anything on tumblr before but my friend keeps bugging me about posting shit and I’ve decided organizing this long rant I had with her on discord about All Might was a good place as any to start

I would like to preface this by saying that I genuinely think that All Might’s heart was in the right place when he began, but that doesn’t make him any less of an idiot or his ideas any less destructive. 

Okay. 

The Symbol Peace was, quite frankly, a stupid as shit idea from the very start and it boils my blood that it’s even framed as a good one. 

Let’s start with the obvious: dependency. 

By framing himself as this Symbol of Peace that everyone should look up to and is everything good in this world, he doomed society to fall from the beginning. After all, Toshinori Yagi, no matter how powerful, is human. He’s not immortal, he can’t live forever, and his reign would come to an end at some point and when it did, there would be consequences. 

Furthermore, he knew that he was going to retire and did absolutely nothing about it, successfully making sure that the world would feel the repercussions of depending on one human being for 35 years, give or take, was a really fucking stupid thing to do. 

More than that, he made himself out to be the ideal person, and whether this was intentional or not, that had consequences. 

After all, All Might’s quirk is strength enhancement. It is a physically enhancing quirk, regardless of it’s origins, and by framing himself as an unbreakable symbol, he got it into everybody’s heads that that was what worth was. Power. Powerful quirks. Quirks in general. 

And yeah, I’m sure he did all kinds of nice charity work on the side; he told Izuku that real heroes do that kind of thing, after all, and I doubt it was just for show. But what was televised and encouraged was the beating up criminals part, and that’s what everyone grew up with. That’s what was prominent and most noticeable to people. 

If All Might wasn’t so prominent in this super powered society, Katsuki Bakugou would not have grown up being told that he would be a great hero because his quirk is so powerful. He would have been told to get off his high horse because he isn’t better than anybody else, and maybe he even wouldn’t have told his childhood best friend to jump off a roof. 

Maybe Hitoshi Shinsou wouldn’t have been told he was a villain. Maybe he wouldn’t be so defensive and hostile to everybody on instinct because he was used to being told he was a villain. 

Also, by framing himself as ideal and perfection and all things good in this world, he worsened mutation discrimination. Because All Might doesn’t have a mutation, and All Might is perfect and the best hero ever and the best person ever, clearly mutations are inherently bad, and it’s okay to leave them out, because they aren’t good.

Another thing is his whole “only villains do that” shtick. It’s funny, sure, as a meme, but it pushes this idea that there are two sides in this world; hero and villain, good and bad, right and wrong. But in the real world, nothing is that black and white. He’s making it out like villains are these horrible, irredeemable people and thus pushing them deeper into the corner they were already in. 

He’s also, in addition to increasing the public’s dependency on him, increased their dependency on heroes in general. We can see this in Shigaraki’s backstory. 

[minor manga spoilers ahead. i think most people know this, and it’s about to be covered in the anime, but it’s worth mentioning that it hasn’t been yet. at the next bold line it should be over]

Tenko Shimura wandered the streets for god only knows how long, and nobody helped him. 

He says it himself; people are content to sit by and do nothing because there are heroes around to help him. The problem is, they never do. It comes to the point where the only person who does help this poor boy is a man who exploits and uses him for the rest of his life. 

All For One is the person who helps Tenko when the heroes wouldn’t, because All Might wouldn’t, and that is why Tomura Shigaraki exists. 

[okay we’re done]

The thing is that heroes are corrupt. Stain saw this, and though his choice in victims was questionable, he was still right. Heroics is corrupt. 

And onto my last complaint: Izuku Midoriya. 

Oh boy, do I have opinions on how this man approached Izuku Midoriya. 

The first and obvious one: The rooftop. 

He told this kid, who is quirkless, that he couldn’t be a hero without a quirk. 

But Unicorn, he fixed it later! He helped Izuku become a hero! He helped him!

Um, no he fucking didn’t??? 

All Might said he could be a hero, yes, but never that he could be a quirkless hero. 

And OH MY GOD I hate that. 

All Might gave this boy a quirk, and his life turned around. He got into his dream school, he made friends, he wasn’t bullied, he got a good teacher, he got a good mentor, his lifelong bully began to respect him as an actual fucking human being. Life is good. He’s being treated the right way he always should have been because of who he is, a bright, quirky and bubbly boy who’s a little too anxious for his quirk. 

But from Izuku’s perspective?

All that happened because he got a quirk. 

This boy is going to come to tie his entire self-worth to a piece of hair. To a quirk that, let’s be real here, he only got from a completely chance encounter. 

All Might has completely reaffirmed every single thing Izuku has been told his entire life. Before OFA he was worthless, weak, a deku, and nothing important, and the only reason he is now is because of a piece. Of. Hair. 

This is another reason I happen to respect Izuku a shit ton, not that it’s relevant. More than once he was willing and able to give up what in his eyes was the only reason his life was good or he was like by anyone; once with Mirio after the Shie Hassaikai, and a second time with Bakugo, a person who tormented him for his entire life, in the Heroes Rising movie. 

There are a few other little things that bother me about All Might, namely his abhorrent teaching methods and lack of ability to keep a secret, but those are less pressing than the ones already listed. 

And once again, I want to clarify that none of this means that All Might is really a bad person, and despite my better judgement, I don’t actually hate him. I just think he’s an absolute moron who doesn’t think far enough ahead into the future. 

And before anybody says anything about Izuku not actually tying his self-worth to a piece of hair, I want to also clarify that that is what would have happened if this was written better or more realistically. Not to say that he doesn’t think like this in canon; he very well might. But I understand that it isn’t presented that way. Let’s talk about Kururu, again

Apparently the fandom is growing all of a sudden so I feel like talking about Kururu again cuz that’s all I know how to do and it’s been a while

First off disclaimer that fandom is fandom and anybody can interpret any character any way they want and if you like to portray a character a certain way for whatever reason go for it, more power to you (unless you put them in pedo/incest relationships that are displayed as good in which case fuck you). But in my personal Kirbpinion(TM) the Funimation dub was a fucking mistake because so many fan content creators write a way different Kururu than what he is in canon cuz the dub never got to his best episodes and also upped the sadism to ridiculous levels. Listen I know it’s funny to joke that he’s the kind of guy that has 3 medieval torture chambers but hear me out. Kururu is by no means a perfect person, he’s genuinely pretty rude/blunt (though sometimes his straightforwardness is justified :P), has an ego, sometimes acts pretty gross around others and likes extreme and elaborate pranks way way way too much BUT.

Assuming you’ve watched far enough into the series (like 100+ eps) I do not really understand the interpretation that he doesn’t care about anyone and that friendship and love are things he is totally incapable of. He says that yes but if you pay enough attention to his dialogue it becomes pretty apparent that he displays this attitude for multiple reasons. One is that he does genuinely have a hard time expressing the emotions he feels and often has awkward/guarded ways of doing so. But also he says many times over the course of the series that he has a “reputation” to keep up and wants people to call him a jerk; he wants to look cool and rebellious all the time and he thinks a nasty apathetic attitude is what earns him that status (not claiming that’s a healthy mindset, mind you). He wants to have full control over the way people see him and he gets super frustrated and humiliated when he can’t. This is probably why he gets so upset when people talk about how unpopular he is, because he’s spent so much time honing his image to a T and is like why the fuck isn’t this working?! In other words even though sometimes he is just an actual pain in the neck a lot of his asshole antics are part of a carefully manufactured persona, and he will do anything down to labeling his own memories to prevent other people from seeing through his facade and discovering the parts of him that are vulnerable.

And God forbid anyone does figure out that he does care quite a bit for the people around him, or at least if he didn’t at first he does now. Early on in the series he was commonly referred to as “depressing” and while the meta reason is probably just the anime writers just didn’t know how to adapt the character yet (he started out a little differently in the manga), in canon I believe he was just even more inclined to push everybody away from him, and as he began to get used to working in a group he gradually opened up. He commentates on how “soft” he’s gotten since he came to Earth a couple times, and the fact that he’s surprisingly one of the most loyal to Keroro out of the whole team (in many episodes where everyone abandons Keroro for being dumb he leaves last) and goes out of his way to help when he thinks it’s warranted (he asks for money when things aren’t dire yeah but hey labor deserves compensation :V) shows that he is dedicated to his team. There’s even episodes where he doles out some kind of moral lesson to the squad in his own Kururu-y way, especially to Keroro and Tamama. Even the Hinatas he’ll pitch in to protect when he has to, and we all know he’ll pretty much drop everything if Saburo needs him.

Speaking of which. I think the unspoken reason why he’s best friends with Saburo (besides the surface-level stuff like they’re smart and nerdy and seen as enigmas by everybody else) is because Saburo is the only other person in the cast who understands Kururu’s particular struggle of putting on airs as a means of self-defense all the time. He basically has a carefully managed celebrity life (that he has to constantly work to hide in anime canon), a somewhat formal/reserved public life, and the more quirky enthusiastic side of himself he only shows when alone and to the few people he’s close to and god damn that just sounds like the most exhausting juggling act ever. He has an outlet to free himself through his art but he still has to live with nobody quite knowing what he goes through on a daily basis, which is probably why we see him off on his own for most of the series (until he gets to warm up to everybody better...wonder who that sounds like) and occasionally have his bouts of frustration and insecurity like in 229 where he says “fuck it I’m gonna fight the apocalypse alone because I need something to do,” 354(? I think that’s the number) where he talks about just dropping everything and starting over, and I think one of the Christmas eps where Giroro has to like beg him to go to the Hinatas’ party cuz he says he’s “busy” even though he’s just sitting around pretty much (UPDATE: it’s 294 the implication is probably that he has his show or something but cmon that’s only like an hour lol). I am going off on a tangent now but anyway the point is he and Kururu are the most complicated communicators of the cast and they share feelings only they understand which is why they can more or less read each other’s minds and know exactly what to do when the other is in trouble.

Back to Kururu. Keroro, from what I can tell, is the closest to him out of the Platoon; Keroro gets freaked out by Kururu’s pranks sometimes yeah but they have a lot of common interests as the fun-lovers of the group and Kururu’s also kinda been interested in Keroro enough time follow him around for almost his entire life up to this point so there’s that. He also gets along with the other people he‘s around; we know he and Aki get along from the beginning because of how dynamic their personalities are but later on he gets close to Fuyuki to the point where they just hang out for the heck of it sometimes, and even though Natsumi is very justified in generally disliking him (many of Kururu’s more Eugh moments tend to involve her) even she seems to rely on him often, and in the cursed puppy episode she knows all his favorite foods by heart so she must care in some fashion lol. Dororo and he aren’t evidently super close but I think they get each other on some level as the (in-universe) least popular of the platoon and Dororo at least respects his abilities, and has clearly come to figure out his subtleties based on 229. Giroro and Mois...things get complicated. Just putting on record that I’m not a fan of either ship between Kururu and them. I’ve said this before but I think Giroro and Kururu are in a turbulent sibling-adjacent relationship in that they have completely opposing attitudes but they have a begrudging sense of respect for each other and, ultimately, they’re teammates, so they’ll defend each other when someone they don’t know tries to mess with them. I really don’t think the flirty stuff on Kururu’s end goes beyond teasing and I got kinda sick of that running gag if I’m being honest. (You can probably tell which frog I ship Kururu with by now :P) Mois went from something of a rival to Kururu to his lab partner, which is probably why he goes easier on her than he used to and even strikes up something of a friendship because the only other person he knows that might be capable of handling his technology is an Earthling who’s still against the invasion despite his lax attitude so. She helps :V

Now the question is why Kururu acts like he does if his relationships really aren’t all that bad and I think there’s two components to this. I’ve made it clear by now I think he’s autistic but your mileage may vary there. I think personally his childhood did something to the way he processes things as well. In Secret of the Kero Ball, he’s got a bandage on his head which may imply he got hurt somewhere and then he almost drowned which canonically definitely did something to him lol, was mostly seen alone so who knows if he has a family he still talks to, and then he got drafted into the army and placed into a high-ranking position of great responsibility at a very young age; it’s kind of a no-brainer why he rebeled and got demoted eventually. I’ve got plenty of headcanons about what his early days in the Military did to him but that’s for another day because good God this post went on too long.

In short: Kururu is possibly the most complicated character in the show and the F in Flanderization stands for “Funimation.” That’s it I’m never writing another essay about pee-color frog again I will make real content again at some point I promise

PEONY TRIES TO TELL MUTT HIS PREVIOUS NAME? mutt doesn't get why peony's telling him, peony's peony right? then peony says that he wants MUTT to know. mutt Realises that is a Very Important Moment so he shuts up and lets peony tell him his previous name. peony cries? why is he crying?! that was such a long time ago! why is he crying NOW?! mutt holds peony and peony's so grateful for it. mutt says peony's previous name and peony's like it's sounds so nice when you say it and mutt goes RED peony calls mutt "matt" only on missions. mutt's name IS "matt" in documents but he doesn't listen when people call him that until peony reminds him that they're talking to him and that "matt" is his name thinkin about ageswap and how unhealthy it could be. mutt waits on peony hand and foot and says stuff like 'i'd do anything for you', 'i will never love anyone else but you', 'i'd do anything you say', 'i take good care of you right?' and kid peony would feel *so* guilty. peony would try to talk to mutt about talking Like That and mutt apologise and now peony's the one feeling sorry so he drops it kjgkjgkjg teen peony staying with mutt because he feels affection? guilt? sadness? for him kjhgkjgk thinkin bout names... maybe their previous names start with p and m so it's better to tell who they are? hm. peony's previous name was phoenix while mutt's birth name is hmm marlowe and i really should make more ocs to fill the rest of the garden. there's quite a few desjardins i think considering how loyal mutt is to peony then mutt would join the desjardin group wouldn't he? so that mean mutt would get yet another name and it'll be a flower one that also starts with m thinking more about it. the ageswap au doesn't start out that well? peony is young and a new flower. he meets marlowe on a mission and shoots him but can't bring himself to kill him. marlowe's confused and suspicious of peony because he grew up in such a terrible environment. marlowe will stab this kid when he has a chance and peony is wary around him. this relationship is starting off great! there's also the roleswap? phoenix "stayed" with his family and grew up with them so he's not... as nice? probably more ruthless and even cold. while mullein is a new flower in desjardin. mullein is hired by someone else to go to phoenix's house/territory and phoenix catches him? phoenix being ready to kill mullein ): phoenix killing mullein D: wait! maybe hm phoenix hired a flower and desjardin sent mullein? and while mullein beats some of the people after phoenix, he gets injured and phoenix goes in to save him. phoenix being disappointed that this is the flower that was sent to him while mullein is angry because did phoenix even SEE that?! he dealt with other people just fine! (but thanks anyway, sir. phoenix apologizes for insulting him too. mullein is surprised)

*I've seen all of the anime, so far, but am not very far in the manga. If some are canonically disproved, then I'll figure that out on my own time–

I do mention things I think up to the point of the school festival(I think that's around where the anime goes to, at current), though. If you haven't caught up to that point, you may not want to read this post.

Katsuki Bakugou

His dorm room is sort of a mix between Izuku's(not like he'll ever admit it), Eijirou's, and Kyouka's. The color scheme is prolly really based around his hero costume, with lots of blacks and oranges and maybe even a hint of green. Knowing his pride, even his sheets are prolly custom-made to match his aesthetic. Kat's got a punching bag and maybe other training equipment and, after the school festival, he ended up giving into his new hobby and got his hands on a drum kit. He's also got a couple of All Might merch, ofc– A poster, maybe a collectible here and there.

Katsuki isn't necessarily aromantic, because he does crush and knows a relationship-worthy person when he sees one. But, he strictly identifies as such because he feels it'd be selfish as a pro hero to have a lover than can be targeted. Plus, well, he has no interest in distractions, as tempting as it may be.

He's kinda like a tsundere when it comes to his parents' clothes lines, lmao. They love sending him stuff to wear and he honestly does feel pretty stylin' when he wears such, but he always protests and is all "Nada nada nada, I'm not some goddamn walking ad"

Kat's the only person in class 1-A who's completely fluent in English. Momo and Shouto are the only two that can really compete.

Hitoshi Shinsou

Shin's room is actually very cozy, warm, comfortable. He keeps a lot of cooler colors like grays, blues, and purples, with plain sheets. He also kinda sorta takes pride in the white fairy lights that decorate the walls– That lighting is kind of dim, but rediates calm vibes. He also has a sort of nest of plush pillows on his bed, that he can just sorta fall into at the end of a long day! It's surprisingly neat(other than his bed), as while he is too lazy to clean, Hitoshi's also too lazy to make a mess.

Over his time in UA, Hitoshi also develops his own sorta unlikely friend group! This includes Izuku Midoriya(Sports Featival, self-explanatory), Denki Kaminari(EraserMic parallels, plus I think a certain mangacap), Neito Monoma(It all started with a fist fight...), Momo Yaoyorozu(Responsible woman), and Mei Hatsume(They met during the Sports Festival). I like to think that Monoma and Shinsou are exes. It's a tolerate-hate relationship.

Similarly to Katsuki, Hitoshi sort of identified as ace-aro before having gotten with Neito. He doesn't really know what he identifies as, now, but he does crush every now and then.

Shin's got three pet cats! There's Bonji, a ginger tom of a housecat. He's a really prideful spoiled jerk that Hitoshi can't help but love, despite his ego. Bonji also probably ends up fathering Monster's kittens– She's a very very fluffy, chubby grey-and-white Manx. She's real snuggly and calm, and quiet. More of an observer than anything. Then there's Bear, this time a really whiny brown-and-white Manx that tends to get herself in trouble.

Also, if he's not a hero, then he's definitely a therapist. Or an author. Or both, most of the time. His office is called "Hear Meowt" and he's known for bringing cats in, from the local shelter.

Guns scare him. He thinks it's kind of a silly fear(especially for a pro hero) and would prolly get teased if it ever gets out, but– He could never bring himself to even shoot one. Gets all nervous if somebody in the room possesses one. The only class he puts 100% effort into, is Snipe's.

Also, Hito just– Never learned how to swim, cnejcmf. He's not scared of it or anything, and he's okay with hanging around a pool, but he can't swim and won't admit it.

Hanta Sero

Growing up he had a really bad habit of chewing his elbows(He also happens to be a flexible king) and ended up having to get braces(blush surgery because he messed up his goddamn elbOWs). That's why he has such straight teeth. He doesn't really like admitting it so he tries to be subtle but early on in the year he chewed on his retainer, too, and I bet there was one day where everybody just heard SNAP! from inside his mouth. Smile thru the pain, bby.

Also, yes, Hanta is a stoner– But! Being a hero-in-training, he's prolly ths most responsible stoner you've ever met. He'll never smoke on days that he has class or that he plans to train, and God forbid sharing his weed with others(unless, y'know, there's a responsible sober person around).

As such, he's not allowed to attend Bakugou's birthday. Doesn't stop anybody(other than Katsuki) from dragging him in, anyway, tho.

Eijirou Kirishima (But mostly his family)

His youngest sisters are the product of, ah, a cheating mother. So yeah, both parents are now divorced though the kids are in said mother's custody, because unfairness. Thing is, with a single mother that works, the situation gets especially bad after Ei moves into the dorms.

His older sister, the oldest of the kids, is Etsuko. She's 22 and left to America for college, as soon as she got the chance. She hates mom but is chill with all of her siblings, talking with them and dad whenever she gets the chance. Otherwise, her current girlfriend is a pro hero!

Then, after Eijirou, is Akari. He's 13-14 and filled with angst and anger and bitterness, not really going out of his way to show his hate toward the twins but definitely doing so if prompted. Their mom's sort of in the same boat, except for the fact that he just avoids her entirely. Akari takes after his dad, a lot, and sees him as a role model. Visits him whenever he gets the chance.

And then, there's Aiko and Aika(both twins, 8). Ko is really quiet, reserved, smart– She's the only of the two aware of why they don't have a father figure. As such, she has an internal self-loathe and does sometimes get angry and lash out, as a product. Ka's pretty much the opposite. She's real naive and fun and loud, the kind to play sports and gossip about boys and playfully tease her siblings. She doesn't really know much or care about the situation, but she does wish Akira would be nicer :(

As for Eijirou? Well, he's in a real tough situation. He loves both his mom and dad to pieces and could never exactly take a side, even if a small part of him resents mom for what she'd done to the family. After the divorce and especially after Etsuko left, he became sort of the man of the house, taking responsibility for all of his younger siblings. He caters to both his mother and father and though there is a lot of tense energy between the three, Ei gets by. After the dorms are implemented, he takes every chance that he possibly could to slip by.

Since there is barely anybody that looks at this blog now, imma say some things now that I'll reveal later on Twitter (maybe). Also this is gonna be a long read so you can read if you wanna or not. Its kinda a rant.

I started this blog because I liked Dragon Ball and wanted to share my ideas and things I liked with other fans. I enjoyed that. Krillin is my favorite character so I wanted to show him some love & maybe get more ppl to like him. Then eventually I started drawing nsfw art.

I began doing so because there's a great lack of Krillin positive nsfw art. Eventually on my Twitter, I gathered a following that like to see Krillin getting some love. I also went from sfw with my OC Tobi to drawing nsfw. The problem I have with both is that I don't have time as much to draw what is like to. Nor do I care as much for nsfw art.

So this is what I'm trying to say. I have other things I want to do. I draw for free and accept some requests. I'm not getting paid and I feel like I'm wasting my time somewhat. The positive is that more ppl have come to like Krillin and hopefully more will later. There aren't a lot of nsfw artist that promote Krillin. Its all about Saiyans and I understand why. I like Saiyans too. But its always at the expense of human characters that I like especially Krillin.

I'm seriously tired of it, ya know? Its just such negativity. I've tried to combat it with positivity and that does work but that's not what most ppl seem to care about or see. Krillin means a lot to many of us. Yes, we know he's a fictional character but he's someone we can latch on to and see ourselves in. How he constantly tries hard and doesnt give up despite having low self-esteem. He is very relatable and an encouraging character. So understand that it frustrates me and others when ppl keep making fun of a character we love just because of memes that are very innacurate, he's short, he's married to what most of the fandom consider the most attractive female in the series (so they're jealous of him to an extent), or when ppl downright degrade his character.

Why? Why treat a positive character so negatively? Ppl make fun of Krillin because he has PTSD but won't make fun of Future Trunks. They trash his marriage and make it seem as if 18 doesn't care for him because he has the most stable marriage in the series. They call his daughter an ugly troll but want to see her in hentai with some Saiyan. Such hypocrisy. That's why I've drawn some of the things I have.

There are drawings I've done that I haven't posted because they are so disrespectful to characters like Vegeta or Gohan. And I love Gohan so that's a reason why I never posted them. I'm a positive person but it seems many ppl only respond to negative. So here's what I've done/plan to do.

I have some comics planned to draw along with some pictures. The pictures vary on what they will be, but the comics... Here's what they are.

I will be making NTR comics starring Krillin but he is the main character. There are too many of him being portrayed as a wimp or punk that lets everybody get with 18 besides himself. Or its done behind his back. So I'm going to have Krillin taking other character's ladies from them. Yeah its negative in a way but also positive for Krillin. Maybe this can get the point across to ppl? Idk.

But I will make a comic where Krillin gets Videl, Bulma, & Chichi. I will make others where he gets into "situations" with characters like Kale & Caulifla, Cheelai, & others. I also plan to make a comic about Roshi basically being cucked by Krillin (you'll have to wait and see to understand that one). So that's what I have planned. Hentai comics with Krillin as the lead. Its unpopular and that is why I do it.

I'll make other more positive comics too. Like a comic about Krillin getting advice then marrying 18. Ill draw stories with my OC Tobi as he lives with Krillin and his family & dates Marron. It will focus on the Chestnut family and have father/son moments with Krillin & Tobi. And ill introduce other characters too.

But here's the big thing that contradicts everything I said prior. I don't want to draw DB anymore. The fan base has kinda wore me out but so has the direction the series has gone. In bored of the writing for DBS and it being solely about Goku & Vegeta when there are other characters like Gohan & Piccolo. Its a fighting anime so why would we only want to see 2 characters? God ki was introduced so that's an easy way for everyone to get stronger and involved. But its too corporate now and lazy. And the DBS manga... so terrible. Toyotaro is a much better artist than I am and not to talk bad about him but I think DragonGarowLee is much better for the position that Toyo. DGL knows how to choreograph fights better and understands Toriyama's comedy better. Toyo doesn't know how to write the characters. He makes Goku an uncaring idiot, makes Vegeta a poorly written Goku clone, makes fun of Krillin for no reason except he doesn't like him (seriously! He has called him ugly, weak, scared, useless, & had ppl like Goku and Roshi insult Krillin. Wtf?!), he doesnt know how to create a unique character without ripping off a character Tori has done much better. And the fanboys (& girls)

Gosh! The Vegeta fans are great but they can be crazy sometimes. They ignore all the evil Vegeta has done and ignore his flaws as if he's a perfect angel. Vegeta's flaws is what makes him such an interesting character! And him being different than Goku is a good thing. But there's a weird and false understanding of his character. "Vegeta is a better dad than Goku" sure. Vegeta just knocked up Bulma then left her as. Single mother and didn't care if she or his infant son died, never hugged his son until he was 10+ yrs old & didn't love Bulma until sometime during the 7 yr time skip. He was a terrible person in a terrible relationship! THEN he became a better person and actually loving to his family. That change is what make Vegeta great. Not his power level or how many kills he has or "cool moments."

That same twisted misunderstanding of Vegeta is similar to the misunderstanding of Krillin. Ppl think he's weak and a coward. But he fights aliens & beings stronger than him and even injures stronger opponents. He smiles in the face of danger and even gets excited during fights but is smart enough not to risk others lives. Krillin nearly killed Nappa, he would've finished Vegeta with the Spirit Bomb if Yajirobe didn't alert Vegeta that Krillin was attacking him, smart enough not to fight on Namek when they're outnumbered, took on aliens stronger than him, outsmarted them & escaped, protected both Gohan & Bulma, more skilled than Ginyu when he was in Goku's body, sacrificed his safety for others like Dende & Gohan, (for real tho, Vegeta didn't see 2nd form Freeza move but Krillin was fast enough to throw Dende out of the way and sacrifice his life. Krillin saw Freeza attacking and Vegeta who is supposed to be stronger did not see Freeza move!), he was the first person to actually damage Freeza and then taunted the Emperor of the Universe, he's always there for his friends, knew better than everybody else that if the androids defeated Vegeta & Trunks then he shouldn't get involved. He saved 18 who was innocent in this timeline, helped 16, wished for the bombs out of 17 & 18 so they could live normally. Then fast forward to DBS he fought to protect his family & planet & 18 calls him "cool", he conquers his PTSD and gained new power he always had but laid dormant, he defeated someone who actually hurt 18. & there are things he's done I didn't even mention.

And ppl constantly saying Goku is a bad dad. He's waaaaaaaay better of a father compared to Vegeta if were being honest.

I guess I've seen a lot of the negative side of the fandom and its disappointing. So I'm at a point where I kinda don't care. I'll make my comics but after I'm done with what I have planned, I'm just done with DB. I won't stop drawing entirely but I won't draw any requests unless I feel like it, I won't keep up with much DB news and content. I just want to come back to Tumblr, draw Krillin fanart, draw Tobi, write some rewrites, draw Tobi's story & that's it. Ill be a part of Chestnut Fest every year tho. That is one of the greatest things to come out of my time on Tumblr & Twitter. So big thanks to @chestnutisland!

But basically I'm tired of the fandom and I still enjoy parts of it but I want to do my own thing. So I'll partially be a part of the DB fandom but not in it too deep. Look forward to what I have in store. If some of my future content isn't to your liking, hopefully you ccan find something else I've done that you'll enjoy. But its still been fun & I've enjoyed the ppl I've talked too & friends I've made.

I am going to do a few rant about tumblr and about all the yuri I love for the past year and for the incoming year :) (and you can read whatever interest you or not because yeah, my rants can be long.)

About Tumblr : I started my blog a bit more than a year ago now (I never posted on it before). The main goal was being able to fangirl about all the yuri I love when I couldn’t really do so somewhere else (or more likely, not as much as I wanted). Obviously I wanted to show my love to Kumirei everyday as well. And gosh, I am pretty surprised because in a bit more than a year, you are almost 7700 to follow this blog and I am like “wow, that’s a LOT of people”. So thank you for following my usual yuri ranting (or shitpost, depend), I didn’t expect so many people to be there but yeah. I will keep doing the same for this year. Obviously I don’t agree with the new Tumblr policy about NSFW (I find it... Pretty stupid. It has good intention, but it’s really really badly done) but I won’t stop this blog because personally, even if I do post NSFW from time to time (there’s an amazing Kumirei doujinsh cover I would have loved to share... RIP) but most of my post are shitpost or safe for work so it doesn’t really affect this blog. (And it’s still the easiest place for me to fangirl).

About Hibike : This year was pretty amazing with Liz to Aoi tori release. This movie is just gorgeous (please watch it if you haven’t yet). The movie has even been screened in the USA and is now planned in France ! I am so happy the Hibike fever is starting again. The movie gave me so many emotion, too. As I’ve mentioned, I am just a bit sad (like after this Comiket period) there were so less Kumirei doujinshs. Talking about that, Oath’s finale is coming up in april and I am both excited and worried about the movie. I know there might be a lot of Kumirei cute scenes because I heard there’s some in the novel. Actually my worries are pretty much over : I was a bit scared about the eventual shoe Kumiko (even though it’s not that way even in the novel). I wouldn’t have minded Kumiko ending up with anybody tbh, as long as it’s logical and they have a great bond (because we can’t really complain about something like that, even if we can be disappointed) but... Not him. Because I think Kumiko would be more hot and bothered by a cube of ice than the Shoe. I am looking forward for the first movie impression by people in april and I really hope the movie could lit the Kumirei fire inside people heart once again (and a lot of gay merch pls Kyoani).

About My Unrequited Love : this serie became clearly my favorite serie along Yagate. Maybe the fact I am working on it helps big time, but I absolutely adore all the characters and the pacing. I do love angst as much as I love fluff and I don’t mind slow pacing. I am conscious this kind of story isn’t for everybody (according to the complain I read also), I do think personally this is a really “real” slice of life. In a way that tMnR is really good to show the different point of view of the characters (and how a scene can be totally different depending of who saw it... That’s why I don’t mind the skip after chapter 14) and the serie take its time because yes, sometimes in life, not a lot happen and people are mixed with their own struggle. They can have some issue because they don’t talk with each other and I love how it’s done here. I am really looking forward to see how the story will progress (starting from february because this month, we get the volume 4 release). And tMnR is love.

About Yagate : The anime just ended and gosh, it was really an amazing anime. I would even say so far probably my favorite yuri anime released (and by that I mean “really yuri labelled” since i consider Hibike as yuri too). I love the way they adapted the serie, they did their very best and you could really feel it in the animation and all the adaptation idea like with the background play and the metaphore (though they were some animation quality drop for some episode, but we can’t complain about that). I really hope they will be able to do a season 2 to match the manga ending! I don’t think the manga should end this year (with probably one more volume after this one), or more likely at the very end of the year. I am really looking forward to follow Yuu and Touko. I can’t wait for them to be finally happy together and seeing them as a couple. (And I do hope for a great girlfriend for Sayaka! She really deserves love).

About Citrus : Citrus main serie ended in 2018, letting place to the spin off Citrus plus that started in december. It’s an odd feeling since it’s a serie that really affected me and helped me during quite some time of irl struggle (I started it back in 2013-2014) and I have a special thing with this manga. The animation at the beginning of 2018 was maybe not the best, but surely a kind of dream coming true that made us fangirl big time. Citrus has also been my main manga collection so it is a huge part of my life. Unfortunatly, though I still enjoy reading Citrus plus because I am curious about it, it’s not my number one serie anymore (after a volume 10 that left me a bit... Meh). I am still really curious to see what Saburouta has for us in 2019. About other series : I started quite some yuri series in 2018, and so there’s a few things I want to mention

I started 2DK G pen, and it is a really great yuri. The manga just finished in Japan this year, and I am pretty surprised it wasn’t picked by SevenSeas to be released in english book. The pace is slow but the manga is great and popular in Japan, so I would really like if they could pick this one someday.

I started Nettaigyo too... Lesbians + aquarium = <3 (I can’t do a faster summary, this is just amazing) 

I watched Bandori (BanG Dream!) anime with a friend, and recently she convinced me to play the game... And gosh it really got me. I got myself a new bae (with Rinko) and some new ship I love. (Fun fact: Misaki x Kanon : Misaki is voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa, Kumiko’s VA while Kanon is voiced by Toyota Moe, Midori’s VA. So Bandori is the only place you can ship Kumiko with Midori x’) ) There’s a lot of other ship I love, but damn.

Ouran High School Host Club REVIEW:

Hello there, everybody. My name is JoyofCrimeArt and welcome to the first cartoon review in my month long "Deviant-cember." event. For those of you who don't know every Friday for the rest of December I will be posting a new cartoon review, because I really enjoy making these reviews and hopefully you really enjoy reading them. Plus why not make something extra for the month of December. I mean all of those Youtubers are doing it. Anyway, I think I've gotten a bit off track, it's review time!  So a couple months ago my little brother decided to randomly pick a show off of Netflix and start watching it. After he saw the first episode he decided to ask me if I was interested in watching it with him. This show was none other than the 2006 anime series "Ouran High School Host Club!"

For those who are unaware, "Ouran High School Host" is an anime series produced by Studio Bones and based on the long running manga by Bisco Hartori. This manga series seems to be pretty big in Japan as this series not only got an anime adaptation but also a live action series that aired on the Japanese version of TBS. And THAT series was apparently popular enough to warrant a live action film based on the series to be created. I didn't even know that Japan even had any live action shows! Like what!? Man, what will those Japanese people think of next...  Anyway Ouran High School Host Club is a comedy anime that pokes fun at the Shojo genre of anime and manga. The Shojo genre seems to be defined as, quote "Them anime's where people don't spend all of there time powering up, fighting, and blowing stuff up." I didn't even know that Japan even had any anime like that! Like what!? Man, what will those Japanese people think of next...All jokes aside Shojo is apparently anime that is mainly targeted mainly at teenage girls. I've never seen any other "Shojo" anime before this but if this parody series in indication I would guess it features a lot of roses, fancy outfits, and flamboyant men. But enough background information, let's talk about the series plot!  The series focuses on Haruhi Fujinoka, a first year high school student who is attending the illustrious private school Ouran Academy on scholarship. (SIDE NOTE: the show makes a big deal about, even though we actually only see our main characters actually DOING schoolwork in like two episodes out of the twenty six. And even in those episodes all we see are characters do is like a fitness exam and planning a school fair. Like does anybody actually do like, math and stuff at this school? Like, I know this show is about an after school club and all, but dang! Okay tangent over.) Everything is going well until Haruhi accidentally walks into the room of the Ouran High School Host Club. Now, I know what you may be wondering if you aren't Japanese or haven't seen this show before, "What is a host club?" Now, I'm not going to say that I'm an expert on the subject or anything but based on my limited research a host club is basically a less sexual and gender flipped version of a Hooters. There basically bars or clubs that feature attractive men who's job is to charm and flirt with female customers. This show takes that idea and just puts it into a high school and removes the alcohol. Haruhi accidentally knocks over a vase that belongs to the club and, since this is a precious private school owned entirely by rich people, the vase is valued at 8,000,000 yen, or a about 70,561 dollars American (give or take inflation. Thanks Google!) And thus, Haruhi is forced to work at the host club in order to pay off her debt but, shocking twist, Haruhi is actually a girl! Wah Wah Wah! So now Haruhi has to disguise herself as a man in order to work of her debt to the host club, and many shenanigans ensue!

(You know that the vase is going to break because they have an arrow pointing at it for the entire scene before Haruhi breaks it. It's because the show thinks that if there wasn't an arrow pointing at the vase, we might forget that the vase is important.)  So let's talk about the members of the host club. First we have Haruhi. She's smart, hardworking, and independent to a fault. She acts as the straight man of the group and honestly she serves that role perfectly. Her default emotion ninety percent of the time seems to just be "indifference," and I mean that in the best possible way. Her deadpan attitude acts as a perfect foil for the other members of the host club. That being said it's not like she's a static character, as she does show emotion when a scene calls for it. Without Haruhi down to earth attitude the show would not work at all, as without it the show would just become to zany. You really need that voice of reason character to balance out the wackiness, even in a show as silly as this. Also, while I don't know how much this applies in the Japanese version her American voice actress, Caitlin Glass, does an excellent job delivering her lines as this character. Also yes, I did watch this show dubbed and not subbed and that is because I am a FILTHY CASUAL PLEBE!  Next we have Tamaki, the leader and co founder of the host club. Tamaki is very much the dumb but beautiful type of character. He's self absorbed, though it seems to come less from a place of ego and more from just a place of ignorance. And despite him being so self absorbed he isn't selfish. He is shown to be a kind person who cares deeply about helping people, which does keep him likable. Tamaki is just such a passionate character it's hard for you as the viewer to not get as passionate as he is. He has a crush on Haruhi, which is obvious to everybody except himself. Many episodes focus on him trying to impress her, or focusing on his jealousy of anybody else who wants to get close to Haruhi, leading to many comedic situations. The obvious irony here is that Tamaki is in love with the only girl in the school who isn't madly in love with him. Like for real, every other girl in the school just melts in his hand, except for Haruhi. This is something I simply do not get, Tamaki is a doofus. I just don't see the attraction.

I mean sure he's attractive, I guess! What with that shaggy blond hair, and those deep blue eyes...that look like two glistening pools of water in the moonlight. And he does have a sort of innocent boyish charm to him...and those luscious, kissable lips....I-Ugh, what was I talking about again? Oh yeah, the review! Hehe, um...Where was I again?    Also in the dub Tamaki is voiced by none other then Vic Mignogna. Most people would probably recognize him as Eric Elric from "Full Metal Alchemist" but the role that I most recognize him from is Uncle Qrow from "RWBY." QROW IS TAMAKI GUYS! I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO TAKE QROW SERIOUSLY AGAIN!

Then we have Kyouya, the other co-founder of the host club. He's in charge of all of the planning and actual day to day running of the host club. He also acts as a straight man for the group, though not as much as Haruhi. He's cold and calculated, being in the club more business reasons as oppose to Tamaki who does it in order to make women happy. He's an excellent foil for Tamaki and an excellent tool for exposition for the writers, because he always does extensive background checks on literally every character in the series because, well, he's kinda a creep. Though in all serious he is a good character, especially as we get to learn more about him and get past his calculating exterior, as we learn he truly does have a soft side.  Then we have twins Hikaru and Karou, who are in the club in order to appeal to guest who attracted to a certain, specific, type of yaoi....And this has gotten weird already if you get what I'm saying. Though to be fair it is left a bit vague how much of there "brotherly love." is real and how much is just an act for there clients. They are mischievous and overall pretty awful people overall, doing really jerky things pretty much just for the fun of it. Luckily they do get character development over time that fixes this a little, but yeah. They look completely identical to each other and act pretty much the same for the first half of the series too. There's even an episode where the dye there hair differently so it'd be easier to tell them apart.

(...I think this how Akira Toriyama got his inspiration for the "Future Trunks Arc" of Dragonball Super.)  They do however start to divulge more in the second half with Hikaru being more rash and more of a jerk while Karou being a bit kinder and more sensitive. But don't worry, if you think that that's the last of the awkward and possibly unfortunate implications this show presents, you'd be way off-  -Cause we also have Honey! He's a seventeen year old who's whole gimmick is that he both looks and acts like a five year old...God damn it, Japan. Okay to be fair the girls in the host club don't seem to actually seem to be "attracted" to him per say, they seem to just like to fangirl over how cute he is. So at least there's that. Honey is the cute one of the host club, who loves naps, stuffed animals, and cakes. While the anime gives no explanation on why Honey looks and acts the way he does the creator of the original manga gives one, and it's the dumbest answer ever. Bisco Hatori has jokes the reason Honey looks and acts so young is because Honey was born on February 29th, and thus only ages every four years. Well played Hatori, well played.  There's also the host club manager, Renge. Now according to Tvtropes at least, she's kinda a base breaker character, meaning people either love her or hate her. I personally love her, but I totally understand how people might find her annoying. She's doesn't really serve much purpose to most of the plot, probably because she was only in one chapter of the manga. She's an insane Otaku who's only real purpose is to be genre savvy. She also always rises from the grown on a platform powered by a powerful motor. Even when there outside or something. Don't ask, there is no explanation.

...Oh, there's also Mori. Yup. Mori's was definitely there too.

here are some other characters, like Nekozawa, Haruhi's dad, and Zuka club but I don't want to go into all of those characters here. I don't want to spoil the entire show. Oh! I almost forget everybody's favorite side character, John Cena Senpai!

This is a really frickin' silly, especially in the first half. There's lots of yelling, over exaggerated facial expressions, and even some fourth wall jokes. Also this show has this weird thing with banana peels. Like y'know how in most slapstick comedies you'll see a character eating a banana, and then they'll drop the peel and later on some character will slip on it. This show just skips the set up and just has them slipping on the peel from the get go. The banana peels seem to just, kinda spawn. It's really kooky. The comedy is definitely over the top, but it's a really fun kind of over the top that I found to be very enjoyable personally. When your "Alice and Wonderland" episode of your show is actually one of the more serious episodes, I think it says something about the tone of your story.

(Example of Kooky.)  About half way through the series the show starts to change in tone slightly. The show still remains goofy all the way through, (That image above me is actually a shot from one of the last scenes of the last episode.) but we start to get some more serious episodes mixed in with the silly ones, or episodes that have both silly and serious elements to them. We start to get more backstory on the various members of the host club and it's actually pretty effective the majority of the time. It's really weird because you wouldn't expect the show to go off in that direction but I think it's good that it did. They know not to ever make things get to heavy and give us just enough drama to be drawn into the story a bit more without substituting the shows original appeal, which is the comedy. We see the characters open up and develop as time goes on, becoming more complex and interesting.  Honestly after watching all twenty six episodes of this show I didn't really have much to complain about. The only problems the show has is that the jokes don't always land and some of the unfortunate implications. And I don't just mean the stuff I mentioned earlier with Honey and the twins. When you get right down to it a lot of the host clubs antics, if placed in a less comedic setting would be a lot more creepy. Like how Tamaki claims himself as Haruhi's "Daddy." and tries to stop her from having any romantic relationship with someone else, and is kinda forcing Haruhi into his weird love club until she starts to actually start enjoying the club, almost like stockholm syndrome. Now obviously that's not the implication we're suppose to take away from all of this, as the show's tounge and cheek attitude prevents any of this stuff from getting too weird, and the bond between Haruhi and the members of the host club are genuine, I'm just saying that there's an great darker and edgier horror movie in here waiting to be made!  So in conclusion is Ouran High School Host Club the greatest anime ever made? Yes. IN YOUR FACE "Hayao Miyazaki!" No, while Ouran High School Host Club may not be the greatest anime ever made by any stretch, I found it surprisingly enjoyable. It has great characters, good comedy, and a surprisingly well told and heart warming story. I think a lot of the parody and and some of the weird implications the series would work a bit better if I know more Japanese culture and the shojo genre, but regardless I do think it's a good show that is worth watching. This show will not be for everybody. It's comedy may be seen as "too goofy" for some, some of the implications might be a bit squicky for some people, and some people may not be able to get over how flamboyant and cheesy it is. But if your willing to look past all of that, and your just in the mood for a silly, nonsensical farce featuring a lot over the top characters, a lot of yaoi overtones, and a lot, and I mean a lot of roses, Ouran Highschool Host Club might just be the show to give you all of that, plus maybe a little bit more. While the show is no longer available on Netflix it is still available on Hulu both subbed and dubbed. You can also watch the series on Funimation.com for free, or buy the series on DVD and blu-ray. Check if the show sounds interesting to you maybe check it out. It'll most likely be time well spent.  So that's my review of Ouran High School Host Club. Have you seen the show?
